The father of the 14-year-old boy suspected of killing four people during a shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, was arrested Thursday and charged with murder for allegedly allowing his son to have access to a weapon. 
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) announced that the father had been charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second degree murder, and eight counts of cruelty to children. 
GBI Director Chris Hosey <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzeVgzXixmU" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> that the charges stemmed from the father “knowingly allowing his son” to “possess a weapon” but did not provide any further details. 
The suspected attacker, who will not be named per Daily Wire policy, has been charged with four felony counts of murder and is expected to be tried as an adult. 
Those killed in the mass shooting were 14-year-old students Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo and math teachers Richard Aspinwall, 39, and Christina Irimie, 53. Nine others were injured in the shooting, which was stopped by a school resource officer who confronted the attacker. 
Earlier this year, the parents of a teenager who shot and killed four students at a school in Oxford, Michigan, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/parents-of-michigan-school-shooter-sentenced" target="_blank" rel="noopener">were sentenced</a> to 10 to 15 years in prison, the first time in history parents have been convicted over a mass shooting committed by their child. 
“This is a time for all of us as a community and a state to come together and remain vigilant,” Hosey said at a press conference on Thursday. “Students must be supported and encouraged here in this community and across this state to contact a member of their school faculty with any and all concerns of suspicious activity that they may see.” 
In an update on its investigation into the attack, GBI said that there had been reports of other students making threats against schools throughout the state and that police had made arrests in each instance. 
Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith announced on Thursday that the nine injured during the attack are all expected to fully recover, though several are still hospitalized. 
“A young person brought a gun into a school and committed an evil act and he took lives and he injured many other people — not only physically but mentally,” he said.

The four people killed during a school shooting in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/georgia" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Georgia</a> were identified Wednesday night by state officials. 
During a press conference, Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Chris Hosey revealed the names of two 14-year-old students and two math teachers who were fatally shot by a suspected 14-year-old student at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia. “Those that are deceased are heroes in my book,” Hosey <a href="https://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/apalachee-high-school-shooting-victims-what-we-know" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. “Those that are in the hospital recovering right now are heroes in my book. But also the heroes that we need to remember is our faculty and staff here at this school. They acted admirably, they were heroes in the action they took. The protocols of this school and system activated today prevented this from being a much larger tragedy.”
Aspinwall, the defensive coordinator for Apalachee’s football team, was remembered by his students as a solid role model. 
&#8220;It&#8217;s just so hard to think that somebody that you spent so much time with, because this is my second year with coach, but spending so much time, like family basically,&#8221; sophomore football player Isaiah Hooks <a href="https://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/apalachee-high-school-shooting-victims-what-we-know" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Fox5 Atlanta. &#8220;So, turning around, knowing that he&#8217;s not going to be there.&#8221; 
David Phenix, a teacher at the school, was injured during the shooting and required hospitalization. 
“We are so thankful for all the texts, calls, and messages about my dad, David Phenix. There was a shooting this morning at Apalachee High School and my dad was shot in the foot and in the hip, shattering his hip bone,” his daughter said in a Facebook post. “He arrived to the hospital alert and awake. He just got out of surgery and is stable.”
“This is everybody’s worst nightmare. I just want to offer my sincere condolences and our thoughts and prayers to the families that have lost loved ones, for those that are injured and continuing to fight,” Georgia Republican Governor Brian Kemp said while standing beside Hosey.

Hosey said that the shooter used an AR-style rifle and that there was no evidence that there were any additional shooters, though investigators were looking into any leads of potential associates of the gunman. 
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/fbi">FBI</a> acknowledged on Wednesday night that it had received tips last year about the suspected shooter but did not have probable cause to make an arrest. Hosey said the alleged shooter “will be charged with murder and handled as an adult.”

A conservative publisher has appealed a decision from a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tennessee" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tennessee</a> judge to block the release of the writings of the transgender-identifying shooter who killed three children and three adults at a Christian school in Nashville in March 2023.
The <a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/13X9TxPLPreTm2LA7nRsao5xa4Y3_f1xI/view" target="_blank" rel="noopener">appeal</a>, from Star News Digital Media and Tennessee Star Editor-in-Chief Michael Patrick Leahy, was filed in the Tennessee Court of Appeals on Wednesday. Leahy is seeking to reverse a decision from Davidson County Judge I’Ashea Myles that said copyright claims put on the writings of the woman who attacked The Covenant School preempted public records requests. 
“We have appealed the very bad decision by TN Chancery Court Judge Myles to prohibit the release of the Covenant killer’s writings on the dubious claim of copyright ownership by intervenors. We will win on appeal,” Leahy said in a post on X. 
Last month, Myles sided with a group of Covenant parents who asserted a copyright claim onto the writings given to them by the shooter&#8217;s parents. The group had intervened to block the release of the writings after multiple parties sued the Nashville police department for access.

“Based upon Supremacy Clause and conflict preemption, the federal Copyright Act serves as a valid exemption to the Tennessee Public Records Act and thus preempts the disclosure of any original work of authorship in any form created by the assailant [shooter’s last name] which has been collected by Respondent Metro,” Myles wrote on July 4. 
The parties seeking access include Leahy, the Tennessee Firearms Association, The Tennessean, and the National Police Association. Leahy is being represented by  local lawyer Paul Krog and Nicholas Barry from the America First Legal Foundation. 
Earlier this year, police estimated they would release their investigative file by sometime in July, but that has not been done. It is unclear when the investigation will conclude.
Despite the judge’s ruling, portions of the writings have already been published by The Daily Wire and The Tennessee Star. Photos of the attacker’s journal <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/covenant-journal-revealed-my-imaginary-penis?topStoryPosition=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">published</a> by The Daily Wire showed a woman who had been consumed by radical transgender theory and conveyed her anger at Christianity and her parents over their traditional views.
The Tennessee Star also sued the FBI for access to the attacker’s writings. A federal judge is currently reviewing that case.

Pete Arredondo, the former chief of the school district police in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/uvalde" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Uvalde</a>, Texas, has been criminally charged and arrested over his actions on that day when law enforcement delayed entering the school and neutralizing the shooter.
A Uvalde County grand jury indicted Arredondo and another former district officer, Adrian Gonzales, on multiple felony charges of abandoning or endangering a child in response to their botched response to the massacre which comes 25 months after the shooter murdered 19 students and two teachers.
Uvalde County District Attorney Christina Mitchell impaneled a grand jury in January to determine if charges should be brought against any of the roughly 400 law enforcement officials who responded to the shooting at  Robb Elementary School, the Texas Tribune <a href="https://www.texastribune.org/2024/06/27/texas-uvalde-school-shooting-police-chief-arredondo-indictment/">reported</a>. Authorities were held back for nearly an hour and a half before federal Border Patrol agents stormed the classroom and killed the suspect.
The U.S. Department of Justice released a 600-page report earlier this year reviewing the failures of law enforcement&#8217;s response to the shooting.
&#8220;Chief Pete Arredondo of the UCISD Police Department (UCISD PD) directed officers at several points to delay making entry into classrooms 111/112 in favor of searching for keys and clearing other classrooms,&#8221; the report said. &#8220;At several points, UCISD PD Chief Arredondo also attempted to negotiate with the subject. &#8230; Chief Arredondo, who became the de facto on-scene commander, was without his radios, having discarded them during his arrival, and communicated to others either verbally or via cell phone throughout the response.:
Of the hundreds of law enforcement officials who arrived at the school, many &#8220;believed that the subject had already been killed or that UCISD PD Chief Arredondo was in the room with the subject&#8221; because of poor communication of those who were in charge at the scene.

Late Wednesday morning, police officers in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin prevented what could have been a horrific situation when they <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2024/05/01/mt-horeb-middle-school-shooter/73528044007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shot and killed</a> a 14-year-old boy <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/wisconsin-mount-horeb-reported-active-shooter/story?id=109800261" target="_blank" rel="noopener">armed with a weapon</a>, reportedly a long gun, outside the district’s middle school.
According to Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul, the armed teenager was a student in the Mount Horeb School District, roughly 20 miles west of Madison. The high school in the district is across the street from the middle school.
“For a period of time today there was concern that there was an ongoing threat related to this incident. We currently believe that there is no ongoing threat to public safety. But again, this is an ongoing investigation, and we will update the public if any additional threat to safety is discovered,&#8221; Kaul stated.
“An initial search of the middle school has not yielded additional suspects. As importantly, we have no reports of individuals being harmed, with the exception of the alleged assailant,” the school district wrote in a deleted <a href="https://twitter.com/MarioNawfal/status/1785725844129726663">Facebook</a> post. “Intermediate center students evacuated. There was no threat at that location. Buses are aware and preparing to escort them to our reunification site. we will be updating you with details shortly. We are in the process right now of a systematic release of middle school students to use restrooms interior to the middle school. They are not being released at this time. You would be so proud of our students and staff, and we’re so grateful for our first responders. We will keep you updated.”
“A police source told CBS 58 the gunman opened fire on a group of students who were taking part in an activity outside the school, but he missed everyone before officers shot and killed him. Kaul would not confirm that detail, but he said multiple officers were on leave because of their role in the response, including a school resource officer,” CBS 58 <a href="https://www.cbs58.com/news/mount-horeb-area-school-district-schools-on-lockdown-threat-neutralized" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Mount Horeb School District schools will be open on Thursday. School District Superintendent Steve Salerno <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2024/05/01/mt-horeb-middle-school-shooter/73528044007/">said</a>, “It is our hope that based upon the tone and tenor of those visits&#8230;that we can bring students and staff back on Friday. We&#8217;ll have a decision on that some point here in the near future. But at this point, we are ready to roll up our sleeves and work shoulder to shoulder with our amazing law enforcement, first responders who came to help support and protect our young people.”
“This could have been a far worse tragedy,” he added. “We&#8217;re beyond grateful for the community&#8217;s support of our beautiful children and our loving staff.”
“Due to safety precautions taken by our Schools, the shooter was never able to enter the building,” Mount Horeb Village president Ryan Czyzewski and Mount Horeb Chamber Board chair Kara Brandemuehl <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/wisconsin-mount-horeb-reported-active-shooter/story?id=109800261">stated</a>. “The collaboration and coordination between our community&#8217;s first responders and School District exemplified the highest standards of professionalism and dedication.”

Police Officers Prevent Possible Mass Shooting, Kill Armed Teenage Boy Outside Middle School

A <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/transgender" target="_blank" rel="noopener">transgender</a>-identifying teenager who was taken into custody and charged for alleged plans to commit a mass shooting at a Maryland high school kept a &#8220;manifesto&#8221; in which she praised the Nashville mass shooter, fantasized about pedophilia, and voiced concerns about being misgendered after her crime, according to court documents obtained by The Daily Wire.
The thwarted shooter, an 18-year-old woman from Rockville who identifies as a man, was arrested on Wednesday by the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD), the county said in a <a href="https://www2.montgomerycountymd.gov/mcgportalapps/Press_Detail_Pol.aspx?Item_ID=45100" target="_blank" rel="noopener">news release</a>, adding that the FBI notified the MCPD about a 129-page &#8220;manifesto&#8221; in which the teenager wrote about committing a school shooting, contemplated targeting an elementary school, and more.
The <a href="https://dw-wp-production.imgix.net/2024/04/moco-docs.pdf">court documents</a> obtained by The Daily Wire show disturbing examples from the &#8220;manifesto,&#8221; which the teenager claimed was fictional, but an MCPD officer said had mirrored actual events and was &#8220;based on reality with a plan of threats of mass violence.&#8221;
&#8220;I really want to be famous. Even infamous,&#8221; she wrote on one page. A second entry confesses to pedophilic thoughts, but says she chose not to act on them — &#8220;I sometimes think I&#8217;m a pedophile. I get turned on by little kids,&#8221; she wrote. In a third, the teenager mused about potential news stories about a shooting at a Rockville school.
The court documents show that the teenager did web search on various mass shootings, including on the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nashville-police-say-ongoing-investigation-prevents-release-of-covenant-shooters-manifesto" target="_blank" rel="noopener">transgender-identifying shooter</a> who murdered six people at the Covenant School in Nashville in March of 2023.
The suspect appears to have been inspired by the Covenant School mass shooting. Media calling the now-dead Nashville shooter by birth name rather than preferred name made the arrested teenager want to change her name, the Maryland teenager wrote in the manifesto.
&#8220;Makes me want to change my name legally before I commit a shooting to make sure the news doesn&#8217;t misgender me,&#8221; she wrote. &#8220;He was suicidal before the shooting. Just like me. He, too, wanted to kill little kids. A rush of adrenaline fills my body. He&#8217;s so relatable.&#8221;
As a result of the investigation, the MCPD&#8217;s Community Engagement Division coordinated with Montgomery County Public Schools to increase security at schools, particularly Wootton High School, police said.
The Maryland suspect was hospitalized in December 2022 after threatening to &#8220;shoot up a school,&#8221; and has not attended school in-person since then, the charging documents say. She spent time hospitalized for homicidal and suicidal ideations, but later returned home and attended school online, the documents show.
She was hospitalized again last month after she shared her manifesto with a fellow patient at a prior hospitalization, and that friend reported it to police. Hospital staff &#8220;felt they were required by law to break confidentiality to notify law enforcement and Wootton High School. The FBI was also notified,&#8221; the documents say, adding that she &#8220;has previously disclosed to psychiatric staff during his in-patient treatment that he had thoughts of a mass attack at his elementary school and high school.&#8221;
The police affidavit refers to the suspect with male pronouns.
A Wootton High School counselor told the FBI that she worked with the suspect from October 2022 through February 2023 and that the suspect &#8220;would express violent thoughts such as shooting up the school.&#8221; The suspect suggested it could occur at graduation.
Chat logs on Instagram, which police received as a result of a search warrant, showed messages that indicated a desire by the suspect to commit a shooting or bomb a school, the affidavit also shows.
The teenager is currently being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit where she awaits a bond hearing, the release from police noted, adding that a news conference is being planned for Friday. The Daily Wire is not naming the suspect due to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/standards-policies">our policy</a> against printing the names or photographs of mass shooters in our reports.
Police made clear that the suspected teen is a biological female who was going by male pronouns. The legal system is treating her as an Asian female, authorities said.
Online court records showed the suspect has an attorney. The Daily Wire reached out seeking comment. A bail/bond review is scheduled for Friday and a trial is slated for June 3.

The man who killed 18 people in Maine late last year had significant brain damage that likely played a role in his shooting rampage, according to experts who have analyzed his brain post-mortem.
The man, who The Daily Wire is not naming due to company policy about not giving notoriety to mass killers, had brain damage that is consistent with what experts see in military veterans who have had prolonged exposure to explosive blasts.
The man was a U.S. Army reservist and a longtime instructor at an Army hand grenade training range where he was exposed to more than 10,000 grenade blasts, according to a <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/03/06/us/maine-shooting-brain-injury.html?unlocked_article_code=1.a00.RX0e.C6D3KZi-6yUO&amp;smid=nytcore-ios-share&amp;referringSource=articleShare">report</a> from The New York Times.
The Maine Chief Medical Examiner’s office requested the Boston University CTE Center conduct the post-mortem study of the man’s brain.
“[The man] had evidence of traumatic brain injury,&#8221; <a href="https://concussionfoundation.org/news/press-release/family-of-Robert-Card-II-releases-findings-of-his-brain-tissue-analysis-in-effort-to-prevent-future-tragedies">said</a> Doctor Ann McKee. &#8220;In the white matter, the nerve fibers that allow for communication between different areas of the brain, there was significant degeneration, axonal and myelin loss, inflammation, and small blood vessel injury. There was no evidence of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).&#8221;
&#8220;These findings align with our previous studies on the effects of blast injury in humans and experimental models,&#8221; she added. &#8220;While I cannot say with certainty that these pathological findings underlie [his] behavioral changes in the last 10 months of life, based on our previous work, brain injury likely played a role in his symptoms.&#8221;
The man began losing his hearing in 2022 and, with it, reportedly developed a hot temper. He started to lose weight rapidly and believed that people at places he liked to go to were talking about him behind his back and calling him a pedophile.
The family said in a statement that was published by the Concussion Legacy Foundation that they were &#8220;deeply sorry and heartbroken&#8221; for the victims and their families. The family said that the results from the test are not &#8220;an excuse for the horrific suffering he caused, but we thank Dr. McKee for helping us understand his brain damage and how it may have impacted his mental health and behavior.&#8221;

One of the two adults charged with second-degree murder in the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade shooting has been released from the hospital and was booked at the Jackson County Detention Center.
The 23-year-old black male, who will not be named per Daily Wire policy, was treated for gunshot wounds. He is accused of starting an argument with a group of people during the parade last week before he pulled out a gun and began firing, <a href="https://www.scribd.com/document/707190414/Chiefs-rally-shooting-charging-documents#from_embed">according to charging documents</a>. People in the group arguing with the suspect then allegedly pulled out guns and shot back. An adult male from the group that was allegedly shooting back has also been charged with second-degree murder. 
Police believe a bullet from the second suspect’s gun struck and killed 43-year-old mother Lisa Lopez-Galvan. 
The murder suspect who has been released from the hospital has a bandage on the right side of his face in his <a href="https://komonews.com/news/nation-world/kansas-city-parade-shooting-tragedy-suspect-released-from-hospital-admits-regret-kc-shooting-lyndell-mays-dominic-miller-lisa-lopez-galvan-jackson-county" target="_blank" rel="noopener">booking photo</a>. According to court documents, the suspect pulled out his gun and began chasing someone before shooting at him. The 23-year-old man told investigators he was “just being stupid,” court documents stated. 
&#8220;Stupid, man. Just pulled a gun out and started shooting,” he said, according to the documents. “I shouldn&#8217;t have done that. Just being stupid.” 
The family of the suspect created a GoFundMe for him while he was in the hospital, saying that he needed help getting through a &#8220;tragic time&#8221; following the shooting, The New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/02/21/us-news/family-of-kansas-city-shooting-suspect-set-up-gofundme-for-him/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. The fundraiser reportedly raised $100, but it has since been deleted.
Missouri prosecutors announced on Tuesday that two adult males were arrested and charged with murder in the Super Bowl parade shooting where one person was killed and 22 others were injured. Each of the male adults is charged with second-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker. Both suspects are being held on $1 million bond. Two juveniles also face gun-related and resisting arrest charges in the shooting. 
Baker added on Tuesday that others who were involved in the shooting would be held accountable.

&#8220;We just wanted to say our hearts go out to all of the victims, their families, Chiefs Kingdom, and really all of Kansas City that was really there on a day to try and celebrate the community,&#8221; Jason, who just retired after playing center for the Philadelphia Eagles, added.
&#8220;It&#8217;s unfortunate, and deeply tragic the events that occurred. So we want to thank the local law enforcement that sprang into action, the first responders on scene, and anybody that&#8217;s been willing to help those affected by this tragedy,&#8221; he continued.
Travis told fans they could help by contributing to an emergency response fund that was set up. 
Jason also shared praise for the community and how it came together in the wake of the tragedy.
&#8220;One of the beautiful things that we have in doing this podcast is the wonderful community out there — the 92%ers — everybody that watches this show,&#8221; he said.

This message comes on the heels of Travis’ girlfriend Taylor Swift <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/taylor-swift-donates-100k-to-family-of-woman-killed-during-chiefs-parade-shooting">donating</a> $100,000 to the family of Elizabeth Lopez-Galvan on GoFundMe. Lopez-Galvan, a local radio DJ, was the sole casualty at the mass shooting event. Several other individuals, including young children, were hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

A Kansas City Chiefs fan is looking to set the record straight after photos of him in handcuffs spread on social media following the shooting at the team’s Super Bowl parade last week.
Denton Loudermill of Olathe, Kansas, addressed the public with LaRonna Lassiter Saunders, a lawyer advocating on his behalf, in a press conference that was posted to social media over the weekend, KSHB <a href="https://www.kshb.com/news/local-news/parade-shooting/lets-let-the-truth-go-viral-olathe-man-wants-to-clear-name-after-being-wrongly-identified-as-rally-shooter">reported</a>. The father of three and Saunders allege that “misinformation” spread online accusing Loudermill of being a gunman behind the Kansas City mass shooting. 
&#8220;I just want to clear my name that I had nothing to do with anything,&#8221; Loudermill said, adding, &#8220;I was just enjoying myself like everybody else, but other than that, I was out there not to harm anybody. I was just enjoying the parade like everybody else.&#8221;
Pictures of Loudermill in handcuffs spread on social media after the shooting, with some posts even <a href="https://twitter.com/redsteeze/status/1758215011913118073" target="_blank" rel="noopener">claiming</a> that the Kansas native is an illegal immigrant. Saunders said during the press conference that Loudermill was detained after having “several drinks” and was then released by police without a citation. 
“Mr. Denton had several drinks, but so did a half million other people, including some of the Chiefs players,” Saunders said. “It&#8217;s not a crime. It doesn&#8217;t make you a mass shooter.” 
“Mr. Denton has received death threats over a lie, over misinformation,” Saunders added. “He didn’t do anything wrong. He did not commit a crime. So please, run, tell that. Get the truth out there. Help us clear his name. Help us save his life.”

The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department told KSHB, “There were many people detained at one time or another on Wednesday.” 
“Some of the detainments could result in future charges unrelated to the shooting. No one who is believed to be involved in the shooting has been released,” the police department added.

Authorities are holding two juveniles, who remain unidentified, on gun-related and resisting arrest charges in connection to the shooting. One person was killed, and more than 20 people, including 11 children, were injured. Police identified Lisa Lopez-Galvan as the victim who died from her gunshot wounds. Lopez-Galvan was a DJ for a Kansas City radio station and the mother of two children.  
Saunders said that she and Loudermill want the attention following the shooting to be on pursuing justice for Lopez-Galvan and her family. 
&#8220;We want to focus on how great of a person she was and not spend our time letting lies, and misinformation, and bigotry and hatred spread,&#8221; she said.

Kansas City, Missouri, Democratic Mayor Quinton Lucas condemned his Republican governor’s description of the Kansas City parade shooting suspects, arguing that calling them “thugs” is a racial “dog whistle.” 
After the shooting at the Chiefs Super Bowl celebration that killed one person and injured more than 20 others — including 11 children — last week, Governor Mike Parson (R-MO) said, “We can’t let some thugs and criminals take over and ruin what happened.” 
“It’s just sad. I was there yesterday. I feel for these parents, these kids, everything that went on, it was such a wonderful day and then all of a sudden you end with that,” Parson added. 
During an appearance on the KCUR radio show &#8220;Up to Date&#8221; on Friday, Lucas said he strongly disagreed with Parson’s description of the suspects, Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/kansas-city-mayor-accuses-governor-racial-dog-whistle-calling-super-bowl-parade-shooters-thugs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. 
&#8220;I have respect for the governor. We get along well,&#8221; Lucas said. &#8220;I disagree strongly with how he would describe that situation. I certainly do think this was criminal activity. It was lawlessness, and I think that that&#8217;s troubling. But ‘thugs’ is a dog whistle in the most classic sense.&#8221;
Lucas, who is black, then slammed “conservative” theories on social media, alleging that authorities and the media are keeping the suspects’ identities under wraps because they are black. 
&#8220;I&#8217;ve seen this dog whistle time and again,” the mayor added. “There&#8217;s this kind of giant conservative theory on social media now that the reason these mug shots haven&#8217;t been shown is because the purported defendants are black, and if it were a white defendant we would have just shown them. That is absolutely preposterous. There are protections to juveniles.”

That theory was also suggested by conservative commentator Ann Coulter, who said on “Real Time with Bill Maher” last week that “if it were a white man shooting, we’d know.”

Authorities <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/authorities-charge-two-juveniles-in-connection-to-kc-super-bowl-parade-shooting" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> on Friday that two minors, who police did not identify, were being held on gun-related and resisting arrest charges at a juvenile facility. A third unidentified minor was let go on Thursday after investigators determined that person was not involved in the shooting, according to a Kansas City Police Department spokesman. 
Kansas City, Missouri, Police Chief Stacey Graves <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kc-shooting-had-no-nexus-to-terrorism-appeared-to-be-dispute-between-several-people-police" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> at a news conference last Thursday that authorities’ initial findings on the shooting “have shown there was no nexus to terrorism or homegrown violent extremism.”
“This appeared to be a dispute between several people that ended in gunfire,” she said.
