Former professional boxer Prichard Colón passed away nearly eleven years after he suffered a career-ending injury due to head trauma.
Colón, 33, was pronounced dead by his father via a Facebook post Thursday afternoon after the boxer spent the last ten years of his life in a vegetative state that required 24-hour assistance following multiple illegal blows to the back of the head and neck area in what would be his final fight.

Colón was one of the most hyped up boxing prospects in 2015, starting his professional career 16-0, with 13 of his wins coming by knockout. He held an amateur record of 170-15. His last bout came against Terrel Williams in October of that year.
In the Puerto Rican’s fight against Williams, he suffered his first and only loss after being disqualified in the ninth round because his team took his gloves off, thinking the fight was over. Before what would be the final round of his career, Colón was illegally struck in the back of the head multiple times.
When they returned to the locker room, Colón threw up and collapsed before his team rushed him to the hospital. He spent the next 221 days in a coma before waking up in a vegetative state that he would remain in for the rest of his life.
The illegal strikes from Williams were known as “rabbit punches” and have been illegal in the sport for decades to keep boxers safe. Williams received a warning during the fight and faced no punishment or suspension for the illegal blows that left Colon in a vegetative state. 
The story quickly gained international attention. ESPN’s documentary “<a href="https://www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id/19160967">How one fight changed Prichard Colón’s life</a>” told the world how the former boxer’s dreams were shattered by Williams&#8217; illegal punches. 
The World Boxing Organization took to X to express its deepest condolences to Colón and his family during their time of grieving.

Former Philadelphia Eagles running back and Super Bowl champion Wendell Smallwood could be released from federal prison early to spend what may be the final days of his 8-year-old daughter&#8217;s life after a New Jersey judge allowed him to withdraw his guilty plea in a separate state gun case.  
Smallwood, 32, could be released from Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution as early as August 17 after Gloucester County Superior Court Judge Renard Scott approved the withdrawal of his guilty plea on August 7, removing an obstacle to his release from federal custody. 
Smallwood&#8217;s daughter, Mila, was diagnosed earlier this year with diffuse anaplastic Wilms tumor, a rare form of kidney cancer. She underwent unsuccessful chemotherapy, and doctors say she may have only days or weeks to live, according to the <a href="https://www.delawareonline.com/story/news/crime/2026/08/10/former-eagles-running-back-fights-to-be-with-his-dying-daughter-wendell-smallwood/91221627007/?gnt-cfr=1&amp;gca-cat=p&amp;gca-uir=true&amp;gca-epti=z115440p118450n00----l000350c00----e1175xxv115440d--45--b--45--&amp;gca-ft=194&amp;gca-ds=sophi">Delaware News Journal</a>. 
Scott pointed directly to Mila&#8217;s condition when discussing his decision to allow Smallwood to withdraw the plea. The judge also noted that Smallwood was approximately three months away from qualifying for full parole on his state sentence.  
“[It’s an] unfortunate situation none of us would want to face,&#8221; Scott said. &#8220;This is an illness that is untreatable. His daughter has days, possibly weeks remaining.” 
“They can’t do anything except make her comfortable now,&#8221; Smallwood’s attorney, Yaron Helmer, said. &#8220;I can’t think of a stronger reason than to be with his dying daughter.” 
Smallwood had been serving two separate sentences concurrently: an 18-month federal sentence stemming from fraud involving COVID-19 economic relief programs and a three-year New Jersey sentence stemming from his possession of an AR-15-style rifle.
A federal appeals court ruling in July finding New Jersey&#8217;s ban on AR-15-style rifles unconstitutional provided Smallwood with justification to challenge his state conviction. Scott&#8217;s decision to allow Smallwood to withdraw his guilty plea removed the state sentence as an obstacle to his release.
Smallwood had legally purchased the weapon in Pennsylvania but carried it into New Jersey. Scott described the incident as a “poor judgment call” and said Smallwood was not a threat to the community.
Smallwood played college football at West Virginia before the Eagles selected him in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He spent three seasons in Philadelphia and was a member of the Eagles team that defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII.
He later played for Washington and Pittsburgh.

A high-ranking member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is behind the purchase of a historic building just hundreds of feet from the White House, according to a new investigation.
The Philip Qiu and Family Foundation purchased the Securities Building, located approximately 650 feet northeast of the White House grounds, for $8.4 million on July 21, <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2026/08/13/exclusive-ccp-intel-official-building-purchase-steps-from-white-house/">according</a> to the Daily Caller. 
The foundation&#8217;s namesake, Philip Qiu, has held multiple positions in Chinese government, security, and organizations linked to the Chinese Communist Party&#8217;s United Front Work Department, the Caller reported. 
“The CCP is like a kind, but firm parent,” Qiu said in 2021, according to the Caller&#8217;s translation of a Chinese announcement. “It has guided our people out of hardship, led China’s sons and daughters to build a new country and is steering us toward great national rejuvenation.”
The purchase has raised national security concerns due to both Qiu&#8217;s background and the building&#8217;s proximity to the White House. Former CIA operations officer Bryan Dean Wright told the Caller that a property in such a location could be used for intelligence collection, including as a listening post or for collecting electronic communications.
Qiu, whose Chinese name is Qiu Feili, began his career as a detective with the Criminal Investigation Team in Shanghai, which is part of Shanghai&#8217;s Public Security Bureau, a subordinate to China&#8217;s Ministry of Public Security. 
The Caller investigation also found that Qiu has held at least three positions in organizations connected to the CCP&#8217;s United Front Work Department, whose activities the House Select Committee on the CCP has described as a combination of influence and intelligence operations.
Among those positions, Qiu has served since 2021 as chairman of the Shanghai Overseas Chinese Foundation (SOCF), which operates within Shanghai&#8217;s United Front system. At a 2021 foundation meeting, Qiu pledged that the organization would carry out Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s orders on overseas Chinese affairs, often referring to the CCP as “our party,” according to the Caller. 
The Philip Qiu and Family Foundation is also connected to the Chinese American Museum in Washington, D.C. (CAMDC), which Qiu co-founded in 2017 with Chen Xiaoping, also known as Neil Chen. Chen previously chaired the SOCF and has held several positions in the Chinese government.
The museum says it is not &#8220;funded, controlled, or influenced by any foreign government,&#8221; but the Caller found that Chinese government entities have co-sponsored at least eight of its programs. Four reportedly received support from religious entities controlled by the United Front Work Department.
Michael Lucci, CEO of the national security advocacy group State Armor, told the Caller that the risks posed by Qiu&#8217;s ownership of the property were &#8220;screamingly obvious&#8221; and urged the federal government to intervene.
At the time of publication, Qiu and the CAMDC had not responded to The Daily Wire’s request for comment.

The WNBA held a meeting Wednesday to discuss the all-important question, &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/videos/what-is-a-woman">What is a woman?</a>&#8221; as it faces controversy over whether men should be allowed in the league. 
WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert told teams in a memo that a committee consisting of team presidents and general managers would speak on the issue of men in women&#8217;s sports during the meeting, according to ESPN.
The result of the meeting was underwhelming as WNBA leaders came to no conclusion on transgender athletes competing in the league. Instead, they pushed the major decision even further down the road and urged people to stop speaking in “bad-faith efforts” on the subject. 
“Today’s meeting covered a wide range of topics, including ongoing discussions on transgender athletes and the continued hate and vitriol directed at players online. We will continue to engage all league stakeholders in the coming weeks and months,” a WNBA spokesman said in a statement obtained by The Daily Wire. “We will approach these important conversations thoughtfully and in alignment with the values of our league. There are no immediate eligibility matters affecting the WNBA, and we strongly denounce the bad-faith efforts to use these topics to demean or marginalize others.”
Neither Engelbert nor the WNBA higher-ups could come to a conclusion on what should have been a simple yes-or-no vote.
The debate on transgender athletes in sports escalated after Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham took a stance on the issue and said she wanted to “protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn’t have to go against biological men.” Cunningham&#8217;s comments led to some WNBA players and coaches criticizing the guard and supporting men in women&#8217;s sports.
Supporters of Cunningham were even scolded courtside when Seattle Storm co-owner Celeste Keaton <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sophie-cunningham-rips-wnba-team-co-owner-for-harassing-teens-girls-with-xx-xy-shirts">yelled at the teenagers</a> for wearing shirts advocating for the protection of women&#8217;s sports.
The issue has also prompted former NBA pros <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/former-nba-player-declares-for-wnba-draft?row=0&amp;elementPosition=12&amp;rowType=Web+Search">Enes Kanter Freedom</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/another-former-nba-player-says-hes-entering-wnba-draft-threatens-discrimination-suit?row=0&amp;elementPosition=11&amp;rowType=Web+Search">Royce White</a> to declare for the next WNBA draft, claiming they identify as transgender and want to be accepted.
It remains unclear whether the WNBA would allow Kanter Freedom and White to participate in 2027 under current league guidelines if they are drafted. While the league&#8217;s collective bargaining agreement states that &#8220;only players who are women are eligible to play,&#8221; there is controversy over whether the WNBA would recognize trans-identifying men as women.

ESPN NFL draft analyst Matt Miller is facing a misdemeanor charge stemming from his near-fatal car accident in June, amid complaints that he was cheating fantasy football players out of their winnings.
Miller is being charged with “failure to drive on right half of roadway when roadway was of sufficient width, resulting in an accident,” based on Jasper County court <a href="https://www.courts.mo.gov/casenet/cases/newHeader.do?inputVO.caseNumber=26AP-CR00971&amp;inputVO.courtId=SMPDB0001_CT29#charges">records</a> filed Monday. As seen in the video, Miller’s Ford Bronco veered off his side of the road before colliding with a semi-truck.
The 43-year old analyst revealed on X that the June 17 accident had resulted in life-threatening injuries, requiring “50 units of blood, [life]-saving [brachial] surgery, compound femur surgery, shattered patella surgery, shoulder surgery, plus some broken ribs.” On top of that, Miller said he was being placed on leave after the amputation of his arm.

Authorities reported that it was “unknown” whether Miller was under the influence of any kind. Miller said that he had no memory of the moments before he crashed.
Miller is required to appear in a Missouri courtroom on September 21, according to court records.
The car crash came just weeks before the Missouri Attorney General’s Office launched an investigation into Miller regarding his “charity” activity. In the weeks leading up to his accident, claims circulated on social media that Miller was scamming members of fantasy football leagues he was hosting and not paying out the winners.
More posts claimed his “charity foundation” — giving away NFL memorabilia and exclusive scouting reports for donations — was not holding up its end of the bargain either. Already-suspicious critics gave him even more flak when his family posted a GoFundMe to raise money for his surgeries.
The analyst hosted 91 leagues on Sleeper, a fantasy sports platform, which would have generated roughly $100,000 in entry fees, according to an <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7447251/2026/07/17/matt-miller-espn-car-crash-accident-fraud/?unlocked_article_code=1.yVA.SbLZ.FVXV-B2YWy11&amp;source=athletic_user_shared_gift_article_copylink&amp;smid=url-share-ta">estimate</a> by The Athletic. On May 7, 2026, Miller’s account was banned on Sleeper for “stealing buy-ins from managers and not paying out league winners.” After ESPN caught wind of the scheme, Miller began to pay people back before crashing his Bronco into oncoming traffic.
When the investigation was launched, the office received over 20 official complaints by the following Wednesday.
“Our office has an ongoing investigation stemming from approximately 26 complaints about Mr. Miller or connected entities,” a spokesperson from the Missouri Attorney General’s Office told The Daily Wire. “Because the investigation is ongoing, the information we can share is limited. The scope of our investigation does encompass allegations relating to fantasy football leagues where consumers have complained that no product or minimal product was delivered.”
ESPN declined to provide The Daily Wire with any additional comment on either Miller’s misdemeanor charge or the ongoing investigation into the analyst.

A partnership led by Josh Kushner, brother of President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, reached a deal to buy the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday morning for a record-breaking $12.5 billion. 
The deal, which was first reported by ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, is an eleven-figure behemoth that will make it the largest sale of a professional sports franchise, edging out the previous sale of a majority stake in the Lakers last year and the Seattle Seahawks being sold for $9.6 billion in July.
Mark Walter, who purchased the Lakers 10 months prior — in the previous record-high sale at $10 billion — is selling the storied franchise to former Disney CEO Bob Iger and businessman Josh Kushner, the brother of Jared Kushner.
“As lifelong NBA fans, we are deeply honored for the opportunity to become stewards of the Los Angeles Lakers, one of the most iconic sports franchises in the world,” Iger and Kushner said in a <a href="https://x.com/ramonashelburne/status/2087542077018308822">statement</a>. “We have immense respect for the leadership and vision of Jerry and Jeanie Buss. Our long-term commitment is to build on that foundation, compete at the highest level, and serve this extraordinary team, its fans, and the city of Los Angeles.”
Prior to selling to Walter in 2025, the Buss family had owned the Lakers since 1979 — and the team won 11 of their 17 championship titles in that timeframe. Walter also owns the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Sparks, and the entire Professional Women’s Hockey League, among other ventures.
Walter came under scrutiny last month, however, when Bloomberg <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-07-20/billionaire-mark-walter-s-firms-probed-by-federal-prosecutors">published</a> an article reporting that Guggenheim Partners — the investment firm of which Walter is the CEO — is being investigated for disclosing billions of dollars in loans. 
Kushner and Iger’s purchase, which Shelburne reported had happened “incredibly fast,” was involved in the NBA’s potential expansion process into Las Vegas before making an “aggressive” offer to take the franchise off of Walter’s hands.
Kushner is currently a minority owner in the Miami Heat, while Iger owns the National Women&#8217;s Soccer League&#8217;s Angel City FC.
The transaction will need to be approved by the NBA’s Board of Governors before it is finalized, a process that ESPN reported could take weeks.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and FBI have joined forces to prevent athletes from being sexually exploited online.
In a press release from the FBI, the organization announced its partnership with the NCAA to “inform student-athletes of some of the cyber-enabled tactics sexual exploitation actors use to obtain and sell their private images.”
While the NCAA and FBI will not work together as a joint investigative unit, they plan to raise awareness, provide education, and improve victim support to collegiate athletes. 
“The FBI has determined that student-athletes are frequently targeted due to their public profiles, which are often expanded through Name, Image, and Likeness activity, and their visible standing within their schools and communities,” the FBI announced in a <a href="https://www.fbi.gov/news/press-releases/fbi-and-partners-warn-student-athletes-of-sexual-exploitation-schemes">statement</a>. “This visibility increases both their exposure to targeting and the leverage offenders believe they hold when threatening exposure.”
“The FBI and NCAA are asking coaches, compliance staff, and athletic department leadership to be part of closing this gap, since they may be the first trusted adults an athlete would turn to. Having these resources available to an athlete before they ever need them is one of the most direct ways an athletic program can protect its own.”
In the public service announcement published Monday, the FBI explained the three most common tactics used by these criminals. Password and PIN targeting, social media customer service impersonations, and phishing are used to gain access to sexually explicit content from the victims, where it is later posted or sold to criminal marketplaces where offenders can blackmail athletes.
Although the FBI does not have specifics regarding the number of NCAA members affected by explicit content being spread, an estimated $44 million was spent preventing the crime in 2025, and over 75,000 submissions of “sexploitation” were reported.
Student-athletes are just as likely to be victims of these crimes as anyone else. In 2022, two male competitors at Penn State were victims of sexual extortion by a woman they both met on a dating app, who was responsible for the same crime across multiple states. Jordan Demay’s story was published on ESPN last year, after he died due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound after online scammers threatened to post explicit photos of him they obtained online if he didn’t pay them over $1,000.
“We hope to break down barrier[s] so law enforcement can help prevent further abuse and connect college athletes who may be targeted with the right support,” NCAA Vice President of Enforcement Jon Duncan said in the statement. 
“If we can play even a small role in preventing these crimes or getting justice or appropriate support for the people impacted by them, we will do everything to help.”

NCAA, FBI Team Up To Prevent Athlete ‘Sexploitation’

Your smart TV may have been doing more than just streaming programming: Some apps available on Samsung televisions could turn your home internet connection into a proxy for strangers&#8217; online activity.
Security researchers have discovered residential proxy software embedded in apps available for Samsung smart TVs, allowing third parties to route internet traffic through users&#8217; home IP addresses. Samsung is now cracking down on the practice and says it is working to remove apps containing the software from its store.
The findings were detailed in a recent <a href="https://www.mnemonic.io/resources/blog/samsungs-recommendation-rent-out-your-tvs-internet-connection/">investigation</a> by security researcher Harrison Sand at Mnemonic, which examined residential proxy software found in popular Samsung smart TV apps. 
Earlier research from cybersecurity firm Spur similarly found residential proxy software development kits, or SDKs, in more than a quarter of the Samsung smart TV apps it examined.
Residential proxy networks allow third parties to route their internet traffic through another person&#8217;s residential internet connection, making the traffic appear to websites and online services as though it originated from that person&#8217;s home IP address. Such networks have legitimate commercial uses but can also be exploited to disguise malicious online activity. 
One of the apps identified by Mnemonic was a Pac-Man game that Samsung had promoted to users and featured in its &#8220;Editor&#8217;s Choice&#8221; section.
Installing the game did not automatically enroll a user&#8217;s TV in a proxy network. Instead, the app displayed a consent screen asking the user to agree to share their internet connection, according to Mnemonic. The researchers said many users, including children, hit accept in order to get back to the game without realizing it could allow third-party internet traffic to pass through their home connection.
Some developers behind apps containing the software <a href="https://techcrunch.com/2026/08/03/samsung-bans-smart-tv-apps-that-share-users-internet-connections-with-strangers/">claim</a> their apps are already installed on hundreds of millions of smart TVs, according to TechCrunch.
Following Mnemonic’s report, Samsung told TechCrunch that it had begun restricting the use of residential proxy software on its smart TV platform. 
“We have already restricted new app registrations that incorporate such proxy functionalities on our Smart TV platform,” a Samsung spokesperson told TechCrunch. “We are currently implementing strict platform-wide developer policies explicitly banning residential proxy SDKs, and we are working to identify and remove all apps currently available in our store that contain these components.”
Samsung&#8217;s move follows a similar crackdown by LG Electronics. Research published earlier this summer by security firm Spur found residential proxy SDKs in more than 42% of the apps it examined in LG&#8217;s webOS store.

A scoreboard malfunction and bizarre tag-up sequence in Monday’s matchup between the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays resulted in a ruling that puzzled everyone in the stadium.
After all the players believed that a fly ball to center field had resulted in the third out, the umpires determined after a long review that the Red Sox did, in fact, score based on the way the Blue Jays recorded the final out in the confusion.
The confusing play began when Red Sox center fielder Ceddanne Rafaela was up to bat in the top of the seventh inning with runners on first and third base and one out. But the scoreboard in the stadium showed that there were two outs. Rafaela hit a routine fly ball to center field, and both runners left their bases, believing there were two outs. This allowed the Blue Jays to get a double play with an out at first base on the runner who didn&#8217;t tag up.
But the play became even stranger as the umpires huddled up before having a discussion with both teams&#8217; managers.
Following a 15-minute delay, head umpire Chris Guccione began his clarification on the confusing sequence, stating, “Okay, so what we have here,” sounding just as perplexed as everyone involved. Guccione then announced that MLB officials in New York would be reviewing a &#8220;time play&#8221; in which the runner at third base may have crossed home plate before the third out — even though that runner also didn&#8217;t tag up.
The result of the review? The Red Sox scored a run after the officials in New York looked into the time play and ruled that the extremely uncommon “fourth out” rule could not be used because Blue Jays defenders left the field of play.
The runner on third scored before the third out was made at first base, counting it as a run because it was a time play. In order for the run not to count, the Blue Jays would have had to record the third out at third base.
Much of the confusion could have been prevented if the Blue Jays had been able to appeal the play, stating that the third base runner did not tag up, resulting in the elusive “fourth out.” However, Toronto’s fielders crossed over the foul line, leaving the field of play, meaning that they could no longer challenge the play, allowing the run to count.
The bizarre run was the only one for the Red Sox on Monday, as they fell to the Blue Jays 2-1.
Two of the most recent examples of the strange baseball phenomenon occurred in 2022 between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Washington Nationals, and in 2009 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks.
“Bizarre,” the announcers said on the broadcast after the ruling. “That&#8217;s as strange as it gets.”

Former Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim had significant ties to a company accused of scamming former NFL players out of more than $1 million, according to newly surfaced documents and interviews with investors. 
A November 2025 pitch deck from Motion Ventures obtained by <a href="https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/steve-keim-has-ties-to-alleged-scam-artist-who-was-recently-found-dead">Pro Football Talk</a> identified Keim as the company&#8217;s &#8220;chief operation/growth officer.&#8221; Keim was the only person besides company founder Mohamed Coulibaly featured in the deck.
“Steve plays a critical role in guiding expansion strategy, evaluating new opportunities, and supporting leadership across divisions by navigating high-stakes decision-making, managing large budgets, and leading multidisciplinary teams as Motion Ventures continues to scale nationally and internationally,” the pitch deck said.
Several former NFL players told Barron&#8217;s that Keim&#8217;s involvement helped give them confidence in Coulibaly and his business. The athletes said they participated in conference calls that included Keim, while Coulibaly told Barron&#8217;s in May that Keim was the chief operating officer of Motion Ventures.
Keim confirmed to <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/49576583/ex-nfl-players-seek-recoup-losses-alleged-fraudster-death">ESPN</a> that he was, in fact, working with the head of the company, promoting it to friends, family, and players who asked about the venture. However, he did explicitly state that he never received salary or insurance and eventually suffered a seven-figure loss from his investments.
He added that Coulibaly used his name to &#8220;legitimize&#8221; the business without officially putting his name in any part of the company, which he discovered when meeting with a banker about Motion Ventures.
The pitch deck also claimed that Seahawks general manager John Schneider, Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Jalen Carter, and numerous current and former Eagles players were “notable clients and partners.”
Barron’s first <a href="https://www.barrons.com/articles/nfl-players-shopify-fake-stores-4d90d418?mod=article_inline">reported</a> allegations against Motion Ventures in July, when three former NFL players said they had collectively lost more than $1 million after investing in a &#8220;larger pooled &#8216;escrow&#8217; structure&#8221; through Coulibaly&#8217;s business. The players alleged that sales data provided for the stores had been falsified, giving them the impression that the businesses were generating sales while they waited for returns on their investments. 
None of the three athletes received money back. Initially, they invested in the other aspect of Motion Ventures, Shopify-powered online stores, where they received &#8220;at least some financial returns that they invested,&#8221; according to ESPN.
Coulibaly disputed the fraud allegations before his death.
“I strongly dispute a number of the factual assertions and characterizations contained in the Barron’s article and any follow-up reporting that relies upon them,” Coulibaly told the <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/07/16/business/ex-nfl-players-say-they-lost-1m-in-alleged-fake-shopify-store-scheme-report/">New York Post</a>.
No arrests have been made, and no criminal charges have been filed in connection with the allegations against Motion Ventures. 
Tae Crowder, former linebacker for the New York Giants, told ESPN that he is still seeking answers and trying to recover his money, and may file claims against Coulibaly&#8217;s estate. Despite concerns from his financial adviser, Crowder invested $500,000 in Motion Ventures and saw no money returned to him.
Coulibaly, 24, was found dead late last month in the swimming pool of a New Jersey home, as reported by <a href="https://abc7.com/post/mohamed-coulibaly-dead-alleged-scammer-targeting-ex-nfl-players-found-pool-home-harrison-township-new-jersey/19636219/">ABC</a>. Authorities discovered his body while performing a welfare check requested by a concerned family member, after his family members called to check in on his well-being.
Authorities have not released a cause of death, and the investigation remains ongoing. 
Keim spent 24 years in the Cardinals organization, serving as general manager from 2013 until his departure following the 2022 season. Before becoming GM, he held several positions in the team&#8217;s front office, including regional college scout, director of college scouting, and vice president of player personnel. 
 Keim joined Klutch Sports Group as general manager of its football division in 2024 and left the company in March 2026.
Keim previously declined to discuss Motion Ventures when contacted by Barron&#8217;s in May, saying he could not comment on the business without Coulibaly&#8217;s permission. He did not respond to another request for comment from Barron&#8217;s following Coulibaly&#8217;s death.

The WNBA player responsible for smacking Sophie Cunningham in the face over the weekend has a long track record of being a cheap-shot artist throughout her time in the league.
After committing a flagrant two foul against the Indiana Fever guard in Saturday’s matchup, fans began to compile evidence of Chicago Sky guard DiJonai Carrington delivering overtly aggressive hits throughout her six years in the WNBA.
Carrington’s hostile behavior is on full display in the video compilation, created by fans, that circulated on social media. The repeat offender is shown pulling hair, shoving, and slapping her opponents — moves that appear to be unnecessary — during her time with the Sky, Connecticut Sun, Dallas Wings, and Minnesota Lynx.
The video even shows Carrington going at Cunningham’s superstar teammate Caitlin Clark by scratching her eye — and, in another clip, mocking Clark after a brief confrontation ended with a foul called on Carrington.
The Sky guard was ejected from Saturday&#8217;s game after officials upgraded the call from a flagrant one to a flagrant two following the replay, resulting in a $1,000 fine and removal from the game. This marks Carrington’s sixth flagrant violation in the last three seasons despite a number of additional scenarios that appear to have deserved the call.
After the game, Cunningham addressed Carrington&#8217;s ejection and the seemingly deliberate foul against her.
“Clearly, I think it was unnecessary. I’ve never really spoken to her and have no beef with her, but I guess she has some pent-up stuff,” she <a href="https://x.com/kareemcopeland/status/2086220659319771185">said</a>. “Yeah, it’s intentional … She has no reason to be doing any of that … But I do think when people play the Fever, we&#8217;re nationally televised, there’s a lot of eyes on us and people just want attention. And that’s her just trying to get attention.”
Carrington responded to her ouster from the game in a locker-room <a href="https://www.threads.com/@dijonai/post/DbyqmQXj8Uk?xmt=AQG0YVN3u_3ZZ1dQLvLA4rwZGtUNzVlW6DPBP_HhLlEzxw">post</a> claiming that the ejection was the result of “white privilege” — and then shared the date of the team’s next head-to-head matchup on <a href="https://x.com/dijonaivictoria/status/2086192323977752742?s=46">X</a> with a smiling face emoji, suggesting that there might be more drama in the days to come.
At the time of publication, the WNBA had not announced any potential suspension for Carrington’s extreme behavior or multiple social media posts. The league is actively reviewing her posts as part of its guidelines.

A state attorney general warned WNBA players to cut down on the blatant flagrant fouls against Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham if they want to stay out of legal trouble.
Florida’s attorney general James Uthmeier took to social media to deliver his assessment of the situation after Chicago Sky guard DiJonai Carrington was ejected from Saturday&#8217;s game over a flagrant foul against Cunningham.

The play — and Uthmeier’s reaction — came in the wake of numerous protests over Cunningham <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/after-sophie-cunningham-speaks-up-for-girls-the-wnba-speaks-up-for-delusion?row=0&amp;elementPosition=12&amp;rowType=Web+Search">speaking up</a> about trans-identifying men infiltrating women’s sports. Her assertion — that women and girls should have space to play without the threat of biological men invading their teams and their locker rooms — quickly created major news across the association, sparking backlash from leftist media outlets, other players, and coaches.
Since her initial remarks, Cunningham has stood her ground on her opinion that caused rallies for and against the Fever guard, as well as a series of ensuing incidents. In one instance, the co-owner of the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/wnba-co-owner-accused-of-cursing-out-teen-girls-over-xx-xy-shirts?author=Hank+Berrien&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=WNBA+Co-Owner+Accused+Of+Cursing+Out+Teen+Girls+Over+XX-XY+Shirts">Seattle Storm confronted two teenage girls</a> sitting courtside with signs and shirts supporting Cunningham.
The Sky guard did not stop attacking Cunningham despite being ejected from the game over the weekend. From the locker room, Carrington posted on <a href="https://www.threads.com/@dijonai/post/DbyqmQXj8Uk?xmt=AQG0YVN3u_3ZZ1dQLvLA4rwZGtUNzVlW6DPBP_HhLlEzxw">Threads</a> “WHITE PRIVILEGE” — and later posted on X “8/23” with a smiling face, marking the date of the Sky and Fever’s next game.
After being informed about Carrington&#8217;s comment, Cunningham referenced a similar foul that had gotten her thrown out of a game in the last season — and said that she&#8217;d &#8220;deserved it&#8221; at the time. &#8220;There&#8217;s no reason to play that card,&#8221; she added, saying that the official&#8217;s call had not had anything to do with race.
Prior to the 2020 season, the WNBA had not played a game in the state of Florida in 18 years. They played a limited &#8220;neutral site&#8221; season in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, but have not played a regular season game in the Sunshine State since. Any players with plans to replicate Carrington’s aggressive foul against Cunningham may now be hoping that pattern holds.
