The Democratic socialist darling poised to represent New York&#8217;s 13th Congressional District reportedly had a since-deleted Twitter account that read like communist fan fiction.
Darializa Avila Chevalier, according to a new report from CNN, kept a Twitter account under the name &#8220;Darializabonet.&#8221; The bio under the name in 2020 read, &#8220;how communist of you,&#8221; and the entire account was apparently deleted in 2022.
The contents of the now-deleted account included complaints about the lack of available Marxist literature — particularly works by revolutionaries like Vladimir Lenin — and a recommendation that Karl Marx&#8217;s &#8220;Capital&#8221; was a &#8220;must-read.&#8221; She also retweeted a post from another communist account complaining that bookstores did not feature &#8220;The Complete Works of J. V. Stalin&#8221; in displays about books that had been &#8220;banned.&#8221;
The account also quoted convicted cop killer and Black Liberation Army member Assata Shakur, who escaped from prison and fled to Cuba to avoid a life sentence, on the idea that people should read communist revolutionaries of color — &#8220;Ho Chi Minh, Kim Il Sung, Che, or Fidel [Castro]&#8221; — before Lenin or Marx. The revolutionaries could not be ignored, she said, because of their contributions to the cause — but she disliked elevating them above their non-white counterparts.
Other posts she either commented on or retweeted shared similarly favorable views of communism and socialism — including one retweet of a post complaining that Americans objected to communism over seemingly trivial things like the number of available soup varieties at a grocery store.
&#8220;I just cannot get over the fact that the universe has foisted upon us the perfect illustration of literally every failing of capitalism and people are still like we can’t be communists cuz there won’t be enough types of soup,&#8221; the post she retweeted read.
Avila Chevalier, backed by New York City&#8217;s new Democratic socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani, defeated incumbent Democrat Adriano Espaillat to win the Democratic primary — and because she&#8217;s unlikely to face any real challenge from Republicans, Avila Chevalier&#8217;s victory in November is all but certain.
Comedian and HBO host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bill-maher-is-not-down-with-the-jew-hating-socialists-my-vote-is-in-play">Bill Maher</a> sounded the alarm on Avila Chevalier before additional details from the account came to light, saying during his Friday broadcast that she was &#8220;patient zero&#8221; if the &#8220;Woke Mind Virus&#8221; had such a thing.

The Supreme Court announced on Monday that it would not hear President Donald Trump&#8217;s appeal in the $5 million sex abuse and defamation case brought by E. Jean Carroll.
The high court&#8217;s refusal to hear the case means that Trump is on the hook to pay out $5 million to Carroll, 82, pursuant to the case that was decided in May of 2023. Carroll — who claims that Trump sexually abused her in the fitting room of a Bergdorf Goodman in the 1990s — argued that he had also defamed her by denying he did so, declaring that she was &#8220;not his type,&#8221; and suggesting that she&#8217;d invented the claim in order to drive book sales.
Trump made it clear immediately that the fight was not over. &#8220;Surprisingly, the Supreme Court declined to &#8216;review&#8217; a Fake Case brought against me by a woman I never met (Decades old celebrity photo line, standing with her husband, does not count!),&#8221; <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/116834055569312013">Trump said</a> via his Truth Social platform.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-e-jean-carroll-rabbit-hole-goes-deeper-than-you-think">Trump and Carroll</a> are still involved in another lawsuit that could potentially result in a much higher payout. A January 2024 verdict ordered Trump to pay out more than $83 million in additional damages. The jury in that case determined that Trump should pay Carroll $65 million in punitive damages, $11 million to help her rebuild her reputation, and $7.3 million for pain and suffering.
The two cases, in an interesting twist, were actually decided out of order: the $5 million ruling (2023) stemmed from a case initially filed in 2022, while the $83 million ruling (2024) was the result of a suit filed in 2019. As Trump pointed out in his post, Carroll had only been able to file the second suit because of a new law enacted in New York that allows sex abuse victims to file new civil claims related to previous incidents.

President Donald Trump reacted on Monday to the Supreme Court&#8217;s decision to allow mail-in ballots to be counted after Election Day — and immediately argued that it was all the more reason to push ahead with the Save America Act to secure election integrity.
Trump took to Truth Social to respond to several of the high court&#8217;s decisions. He took extra care to <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/116834002761429397">outline</a> the reasons he felt that passing the Save America Act would counteract any harm done to election integrity by allowing the late ballot counting to continue.
&#8220;In light of the tremendous loss in the Supreme Court today concerning Voter’s Rights, and the fact that &#8216;people’s&#8217; votes are allowed to be counted LONG AFTER an Election is over, it is more important than ever to pass THE SAVE AMERICA ACT, which is, 1. ALL VOTERS MUST SHOW PHOTO I.D. (IDENTIFICATION!); 2. ALL VOTERS MUST SHOW PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP; 3. NO MAIL-IN BALLOTS (EXCEPT FOR ILLNESS, DISABILITY, MILITARY DEPLOYMENT, OR TRAVEL!).&#8221;
Trump went on to draw a hard line on the issue, lashing out at Republicans who might not support the measure and reminding them of the threat posed by the socialists who have already begun to infiltrate the Democratic Party — winning safely blue primaries over Democratic incumbents.

The president noted that city council member Janeese Lewis George, who ran on a platform that included universal childcare and taxpayer-funded housing, won the Democratic primary with 54.1% of the vote — nearly 20 points ahead of her closest competitor, Kenyan R. McDuffie. Because there is no standout opponent going into November&#8217;s general election, Lewis George&#8217;s primary victory likely means that she will be the city&#8217;s next mayor.

Lewis George&#8217;s primary victory comes on the heels of a number that followed a similar pattern. Three Democratic socialists in New York, backed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, also won their primaries. Two of the three bested incumbent Democrats in the process — and are unlikely to face any meaningful opposition in November&#8217;s general election.

Former President Joe Biden spoke at the Maryland Democratic Party&#8217;s Fight Back and Win Summit in Baltimore — and after shouting and mumbling through his remarks, he appeared to have some difficulty finding his way off the stage.

Biden mumbled through some more of his comments, and then turned to exit the stage. Pointing his finger to the left and then to the right, Biden appeared confused as to which direction he was supposed to go to exit the stage. After a momentary pause, he turned his back on the audience and walked away from the lectern.

Less than a week after Democratic socialists swept several races in New York&#8217;s primaries, the memo appears to have gone out to the more moderate Democrats: the socialists aren&#8217;t just coming, they&#8217;re already here — and the threat is coming from inside the house.
Three candidates backed by New York City&#8217;s Democratic socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani won their respective primaries on Tuesday — and two of them defeated incumbent Democrats to do it — but the one raising the most eyebrows is Darializa Avila Chevalier.
Avila Chevalier, now the Democratic nominee for New York&#8217;s 13th Congressional District, is a card-carrying member of the Democratic Socialists of America who doesn&#8217;t believe murderers should go to prison — ever — and refers to American military veterans as &#8220;war criminals.&#8221; She wants all police abolished, would cut the defense budget to $0, and referred to former President Joe Biden as a &#8220;rapist.&#8221;
Despite their desire to take back control of the U.S. House of Representatives in November, Avila Chevalier appears to be making some more moderate Democrats very uncomfortable — and they&#8217;re doing everything they can to put as much distance as possible between Mamdani&#8217;s chosen few and the Democratic Party writ large.
Meghan Hays, who served as an adviser to both former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden, told Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum that she was &#8220;frustrated&#8221; by the fact that no one in the party appeared to be standing up to the obvious threat of takeover.

The Daily Wire editor emeritus Ben Shapiro weighed in late on Friday after the United States launched retaliatory strikes on Iran, saying that President Donald Trump&#8217;s latest move was proof that the &#8220;peace through strength&#8221; foreign policy was back.
Shapiro responded to the news that American forces had targeted &#8220;Iranian missile and drone storage locations and coastal radar sites&#8221; on Friday afternoon, responding to an Iranian attack on a Singapore-flagged ship in the Strait of Hormuz that took place one day prior.

Shapiro laid out what exactly had transpired in the hours leading up the the the U.S. response, and noted the Trump had quickly made it clear he &#8220;couldn&#8217;t allow&#8221; Tehran to violate the agreement.
He went on to say that the president&#8217;s reaction was proof of a &#8220;shift&#8221; in the thinking within the administration, and that the &#8220;peace through strength&#8221; foreign policy — often touted by the late President Ronald Reagan — was back: &#8220;A President Trump 1.0 foreign policy.&#8221;
United States Central Command (CENTCOM) issued a statement at the time, saying that American forces would remain in the area to make sure that Iran obeyed the terms laid out by the ceasefire agreement.
&#8220;CENTCOM forces continue to provide safe passage coordination and support to commercial vessels transiting the strait,” the command said. “The U.S. military remains present and vigilant to ensure all aspects of the agreement with Iran are adhered to, obeyed, and in full force and effect.&#8221;
Vice President JD Vance also responded to news of the retaliatory strike, saying that the United States had every intention of holding to the terms of the ceasefire agreement, but would not stand down if Iran moved in violation of the deal. &#8220;Violence will be met with violence,&#8221; he said.

President Donald Trump offered some advice — from his own experience — to former MTV reality TV star Spencer Pratt in the wake of his loss in the Los Angeles mayoral primary election.
Trump mentioned Pratt while speaking to the Faith &amp; Freedom Coalition on Friday, jabbing at California&#8217;s long, drawn-out ballot-counting process, which he and numerous others argue opens the doors wide for anyone with the desire to commit election fraud.

&#8220;It&#8217;s happening in California, where the ballots still aren&#8217;t in,&#8221; Trump began. &#8220;They&#8217;re still not — can you believe it? You know what&#8217;s happened? They&#8217;re cheating. The kid won. Or he was certainly in the top two. I don&#8217;t know him, I never met him. Spencer Pratt.&#8221;
The president then advised Pratt to keep pushing back, adding, &#8220;And he went away quietly. We didn&#8217;t go away quietly. He shouldn&#8217;t go away quietly; he should protest, because it was, in my very strong opinion, a rigged election. That kid should be in the runoffs.&#8221;
Trump went on to describe how Pratt — solidly in second place when the polls closed on Election Day — had seen his lead chipped away and then eventually obliterated as mail-in ballots overwhelmingly favored Democratic Socialist City Councilwoman Nithya Raman.
&#8220;The woman who edged him out after like a long time,&#8221; Trump referenced Raman with a chuckle. &#8220;Days. Days and days. And then you&#8217;d hear reports: &#8216;Spencer Pratt is not doing so well&#8217; even though he was strongly in the lead.&#8221;
Despite his loss, Pratt has promised to continue his efforts to expose the failures in the city&#8217;s leadership — beginning with incumbent Democrat Mayor Karen Bass, whom Pratt and many others blame for the disastrous response to the deadly Palisades Fire. He has also promised to continue his efforts to help clean up Los Angeles.
While Trump did not officially endorse Pratt, he spoke positively about him when asked — and Pratt, who is a registered Republican, made it clear from the beginning that his campaign was interested in results over partisanship.

Second Lady Usha Vance delivered a rare rebuke to The New York Times over an article essentially claiming that women within President Donald Trump&#8217;s administration were using maternity fashion to weaponize pregnancy.
Vance, who is pregnant with her fourth child with husband and Vice President JD Vance, mocked the outlet&#8217;s attempt to make her wardrobe political and made it clear that her maternity fashion choices were typically born of just three things: necessity, comfort, and economy.
&#8220;Now that we know the political significance of my $8.75 coral maternity dress from Old Navy, can’t wait to hear what the New York Times has to say about my elastic-waistband pants and compression socks!&#8221; Vance posted via X. &#8220;In the meantime, enjoy my pregnancy fashion (or lack thereof) and a good story with your kids on &#8216;Storytime with the Second Lady.'&#8221;
Along with her caption, Vance shared a video — also featuring the vice president — of herself wearing the dress in question as he read aloud from A. A. Milne&#8217;s classic, &#8220;Winnie the Pooh.&#8221;

For good measure, Vance followed up with a screenshot of her receipt showing that she had, in fact, purchased the dress from Old Navy. It also showed that the coral-colored &#8220;Asymmetrical Shoulder Maxi Dress,&#8221; originally $49.99, had been marked down to $12.99 and she had saved an additional $3.74— making her final total $8.75.
And while that choice may have been one of convenience and economy, Vance said in March that being pregnant as the Second Lady of the United States meant that she necessarily had to change her style, mainly because her position dictated a number of events that she would have to attend — and many of those would not be held in places where leggings and sweatpants were considered appropriate.
&#8220;I have to dress up a lot more. I enjoyed my last pregnancy — there were a lot of sweatpants. I was working from home and sometimes put a blazer on over what was under,&#8221; she told NBC at the time.
The article to which Vance was responding was published on Wednesday and was titled, &#8220;The Politics and Power of the Pregnancy Image.&#8221; If that did not paint a clear enough picture of the tone, the sub-headline removed all doubt: &#8220;Usha Vance, along with Katie Miller and Karoline Leavitt, shows how much is said by an expectant silhouette, without anyone saying a word.&#8221;
The article proceeded to accuse women within the Trump administration of flaunting their pregnancies to make a political point: this is what women are supposed to do — and how they are supposed to look.

Jill Filipovic, the host of the “<a class="css-yywogo" title="" href="https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-week-in-women/id1632915204" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Week in Women</a>” podcast, suggested that even though it&#8217;s highly unlikely that the pregnancies were coordinated, the presentation appeared to be: &#8220;It almost feels like a memo went out. They have quite intentionally opted to present themselves as, ‘I am really pregnant, and this is what women were chosen to do,’ and they are happy to say that both with their looks and their mouths.”
Vance, quite clearly, said otherwise.
Miller, whose fourth child with longtime Trump adviser Stephen Miller was born just days before Father&#8217;s Day, <a href="https://x.com/KatieMiller/status/2069874153717395901">weighed in</a> as well — and said that maternity fashion had been made more difficult as American birth rates had fallen.
&#8220;Over the last few years, many clothing brands have largely stopped producing maternity clothes that most women actually want to wear. @SLOTUS has done a phenomenal job curating affordable, fashionable options that make pregnancy fashion accessible. The root cause is sadly straightforward: with fewer women having babies, it’s likely become unprofitable for brands to invest in dedicated maternity lines,&#8221; she said.

The woman who appeared in a now-viral video dumping trash in the street — so that she could steal the orange-and-blue can it was in — has been fired from her job at JPMorgan Chase.
Angela Báez was fully decked out in blue and orange from head to toe – in honor of the New York Knicks and their first NBA Finals win in 53 years — and she apparently could not resist the temptation to take home the trash receptacle that matched the theme. But since the trash bin was filled to overflowing at the time, she opted to empty it directly onto the sidewalk in order to claim her prize.

But Báez&#8217;s victory was short-lived, according to a Tuesday <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/06/23/business/woman-who-emptied-knicks-trashcan-on-street-then-stole-it-was-dei-exec-worked-at-jpmorgan-chase/">report</a> from The New York Post: she was apparently fired from her job at JPMorgan Chase earlier that day. After the video of her escapade went viral, a spokesperson informed The Post that she was &#8220;no longer with the company.&#8221;
According to her profile on employment platform LinkedIn, she had been promoted one year earlier to serve as Executive Director of Community and Industry Engagement for Card and Connected Commerce. She&#8217;d previously worked for review website The Infatuation — also based in New York — as Executive Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The Infatuation was <a href="https://media.chase.com/news/jpmorgan-chase-acquire-leading-restaurant-discovery-platform">acquired</a> by JPMorgan Chase in late 2021.
Báez&#8217;s bio on The Infatuation&#8217;s website <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/06/23/business/woman-who-emptied-knicks-trashcan-on-street-then-stole-it-was-dei-exec-worked-at-jpmorgan-chase/">describes her</a> as one of the &#8220;brightest voices&#8221; at the site, dedicated to &#8220;making a positive impact.&#8221; A &#8220;positive impact,&#8221; for her employer, apparently did not extend to dumping trash on the sidewalks of New York City.

&#8220;Star Wars&#8221; creator George Lucas is returning to the big screen for the first time in nearly two decades, taking on a voice role in the newest film in the &#8220;Despicable Me&#8221; franchise.
Lucas hasn&#8217;t had a single acting credit since a 2007 &#8220;Robot Chicken: Star Wars&#8221; appearance, and largely stepped away from the film industry altogether after he sold Lucasfilm to Disney — but he will voice a surprise role in the upcoming &#8220;Minions and Monsters,&#8221; due out July 1.
The role <a href="https://variety.com/2026/film/news/george-lucas-role-minions-and-monsters-illumination-1236786427/">came about</a> as a result of Lucas&#8217;s love for the franchise, according to Illumination Studios founder Chris Meledandri.
&#8220;I had this privilege of meeting George about two years ago, and what led to my meeting him is how much he loves Illumination movies, and specifically ‘Despicable Me,’ and even more specifically, the &#8216;Minions,&#8217;” Meledandri told Collider. “It was such a thrill to learn that and then to share it with the team, because obviously he’s among a very small group of people who the entire studio shares a level of respect for that is just off the charts.&#8221;
Meledandri went on to say that as he and his team began to prepare for &#8220;Minions and Monsters&#8221; — which is set in the 1920s film industry and follows the little yellow imps as they attempt to make a monster movie — he had an idea for a role that might be a good fit for Lucas.
&#8220;An idea for a character came up out of the story, and so I said to Pierre [Coffin], who co-wrote the movie with Brian Lynch, and Bill Ryan, who produces with me on the film, and I just said, ‘Well, what if we could get George?’ And they’re like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ I had no idea, but I got such a fast yes,&#8221; he said.
And the collaboration may not end there: Meledandri also revealed that Lucas has spoken to him about a possible role in the next &#8220;Minions&#8221; movie as well.
The team has been tight-lipped about which role Lucas might play in the soon-to-be-released installment, but he&#8217;ll be joining fellow voice talents Jeff Bridges, Jesse Eisenberg, and Trey Parker, among others.
