Leftist special interest groups ran an ad that was supposed to make former MTV reality TV star-turned-Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt look bad, and they appear to have stepped in it.
The ad, sponsored by L.A. Unions Opposed to Spencer Pratt for Mayor 2026 and the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor AFL-CIO, lays out a number of things that Pratt has either supported or opposed — and accidentally paints him as an entirely reasonable person with an agenda that veers dangerously close to the dictionary definition of &#8220;common sense.&#8221;

&#8220;Republican Spencer Pratt is the last thing Los Angeles needs for mayor,&#8221; the voiceover began. &#8220;Pratt opposes using taxpayer money to build brand new houses for our unhoused neighbors, saying it&#8217;s time for the homeless to get help or get out. Pratt thinks L.A. needs thousands more police officers rather than more social workers.&#8221;
&#8220;And Republican Spencer Pratt thinks public employee unions should have less power, not more,&#8221; the ad continued. &#8220;L.A. is on the right track and needs to stay the course. Vote no on Republican Spencer Pratt.&#8221;
Pratt <a href="https://x.com/spencerpratt/status/2053535640277709257">responded</a> to the ad, saying, &#8220;Wait. Unions are mad that I want firefighters and city workers to get better pay and safer working conditions? What are they actually … for?&#8221;
The majority of those responding commented on the fact that the unions, in attempting to paint Pratt as an extreme Republican, had only helped him to outline his positions in ways that would sound entirely reasonable — even good — to the average person.
Red State&#8217;s Jennifer Van Laar had a <a href="https://x.com/jenvanlaar/status/2053492048922296546">similar reaction</a>, saying of the ad, &#8220;Do these people know nothing of branding and sales? I get that the point of it is to make sure everyone knows that Spencer is Republican (since it&#8217;s a nonpartisan race that isn&#8217;t on the ballot) but damn. Saying his name so many times can really backfire. And they&#8217;re associating him with getting rid of homeless encampments and adding cops. Oh, the horror!&#8221;

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt took time out on Mother&#8217;s Day to honor his wife and the mother of his two boys, Heidi Montag.
Pratt shared video of the family as they returned to the Pacific Palisades for the first time after their home burned to the ground, praising his wife for everything she did to make things better for the boys even when she was very clearly hurt and struggling herself.

&#8220;Mother&#8217;s Day is every day,&#8221; he captioned the video, which began on a scene that showed smoke, flames, and flying ash.
&#8220;Heidi and I have been through hell together. No mom should ever have to for through what she&#8217;s been through,&#8221; Pratt narrated as they showed the boys where their home used to be and the Airstream trailer that was to be their new home, at least for the time being.
&#8220;Are you okay?&#8221; Heidi asked one of the boys, and her face fell along with his when she heard him say, &#8220;No.&#8221;
&#8220;I am constantly in awe of Heidi. She&#8217;s the most incredible mom to our boys. She&#8217;s why I fight,&#8221; Pratt said.
Pratt has made no secret about the fact that losing his home in the Palisades Fire — and seeing how poor leadership in Los Angeles was making a devastating situation even worse — was what drove him to join the race to become the city&#8217;s next mayor. He has repeatedly and publicly blamed current Democratic Mayor Karen Bass and others in city leadership for failing to make the proper preparations before the fire and for failing to take steps to correct course once the fire was underway.
Bass, in response, claimed that Pratt was &#8220;exploiting&#8221; the victims of the Palisades Fire for political purposes. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/spencer-pratt-hits-back-after-leftist-mayor-claims-hes-exploiting-palisades-fire-victims">Pratt pushed back</a> with video of himself comforting his mother — who also lost her home, the home in which he&#8217;d grown up, in the deadly fires.

Netanyahu&#8217;s reply was unequivocal: &#8220;Absolutely. And I&#8217;ve said this to President Trump, I&#8217;ve said it to our own people. Their jaws dropped, but I said, &#8216;Look.'&#8221;
Garrett prompted Netanyahu to elaborate, asking, &#8220;What do you mean?&#8221;
&#8220;I want to draw down to $0 the American financial support, the financial component of the military cooperation that we have, because we receive $3.8 billion a year, and I think that it&#8217;s time that we weaned ourselves from the remaining military support,&#8221; Netanyahu said.

Garrett asked whether the Israeli Prime Minister was able to give him &#8220;a timetable&#8221; or an estimate as to when he thought that could be accomplished.
&#8220;I said let&#8217;s start now and do it over the next decade, over the next ten years, but I want to start now,&#8221; he replied. &#8220;I don&#8217;t want to wait for the next congress, I wasn&#8217;t to start now, and it could go down very fast.&#8221;
Netanyahu also weighed in on the state of the ongoing war in Iran, saying that he believed much of what the United States and Israel set out to accomplish had come to pass, but that it wasn&#8217;t over yet.

Pratt sparred with current Democratic Mayor Karen Bass and Democratic socialist city council-member Nithya Raman over how to deal with the issue of homelessness, and both of them argued in favor of offering treatment and beds at city expense. Pratt <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/reality-tv-star-spencer-pratt-obliterates-leftist-policies-in-heated-l-a-mayoral-debate">pushed back</a>, citing statistics indicating that many of L.A.&#8217;s homeless were abusing drugs.
Speaking specifically to Raman, he volunteered to go with her to offer treatment to homeless people in the city, and warned they were likely to attack her rather than accept her help.

Troops forced out over the COVID-19 vaccine may soon see a dramatic change as War Secretary Pete Hegseth — even for those who do not wish to return to military service.
Hegseth announced the change in a video posted to X on Friday afternoon, saying that he planned to restore missed payments and enlistment bonuses — as well as benefits denied based on unfavorable discharge characterizations.

&#8220;I&#8217;m directing the Under Secretary of War for Personnel and Readiness to establish a Department of War COVID-19 reinstatement and Reconciliation Task Force,&#8221; Hegseth explained, noting that their first move would be to assist anyone who wanted to return to military service to do so. &#8220;The services have them right now. We&#8217;re establishing one at our level to oversee the entire thing. The task force&#8217;s goal is to bring back into service all those who desire to continue to serve our country in uniform.&#8221;
But Then Hegseth went on to say that changes were also coming for those who were discharged for refusing the COVID vaccine mandate under former President Joe Biden and opted not to put the uniform back on. Those who were denied education benefits due to a &#8220;general&#8221; discharge, Hegseth vowed, would have them restored.
&#8220;Even if you do not intend to return to service, the War Department will provide a path for resolution of unearned bonuses, upgrades to discharge characterizations that will unlock your well-deserved benefits, and removal of adverse documents from service files,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Further, I have directed a review of policies and decision-making to ensure that we do not go down this path again. You raised your right hand and sworn ill to serve and protect the Constitution and our nation.&#8221;
&#8220;You were mistreated by the Biden Pentagon, and we are fixing that injustice,&#8221; Hegseth concluded.
Between August of 2021 and the beginning of 2023, approximately 8,700 service members were forced out over Biden&#8217;s vaccine mandate — and more than one third of them (3,000) received &#8220;general&#8221; discharges rather than &#8220;honorable&#8221; discharges. Still more, because they were forced to separate prior to fulfilling their contracts, were denied promised enlistment bonuses and pay.
Typically those who receive a &#8220;general&#8221; discharge from military service are eligible to receive disability benefits and health care benefits through the VA, but can be denied access to education benefits through the post-9/11 G.I. Bill.
By March of 2026, some 600 Air Force members had already had their discharges upgraded. The Marine Corps and the Navy had the highest number of separations due to the vaccine mandate.

President Donald Trump lashed out on Sunday after receiving what he said was a &#8220;totally unacceptable&#8221; offer from Iranian leaders.
Trump took to Truth Social late Sunday afternoon to say that he&#8217;d received a reply to his latest offer from the Iranian regime to end the war and strike a deal — and that he was not at all happy with what they&#8217;d said.
&#8220;I have just read the response from Iran’s so-called &#8216;Representatives.&#8217; I don’t like it — TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!&#8221; Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/116552102914488206">posted</a>.
In a previous post earlier Sunday afternoon, Trump had warned that the Iranian regime against continuing to play games with the United States — and he has repeatedly encouraged leadership in Iran to agree to a deal, often threatening to end the regime if a deal is not reached.on his timetable.
Trump said on Friday that he was waiting for an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-iran-letter-trump-is-waiting-for-could-decide-what-happens-next">important letter</a> from Iran — one that would determine his course of action in the coming days — and at the time, he seemed confident that Tehran was anxious to strike a deal.
&#8220;We’re getting a letter [from Iran] supposedly tonight, so we’ll see how that goes,&#8221; he told reporters, adding that he wasn&#8217;t certain whether or not Iran&#8217;s leadership was intentionally dragging out negotiations — a tactic the Trump administration had said they used in the past. &#8220;I don’t know. We’ll find out soon enough.&#8221;
The Trump administration has been clear about the particulars of any potential deal with Iran, saying that no deal would be agreed to unless Iran agreed to stop any and all efforts to enrich uranium and develop nuclear weapons and to fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
The news comes as several skirmishes — provoked by Iranian attacks — had reporters asking Secretary of State <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rubio-we-arent-a-stupid-country">Marco Rubio</a> why there was so little ceasing and so much firing in the current ceasefire.
Rubio pushed back, saying that &#8220;only a stupid country&#8221; would not fire back when fired upon.

President Donald Trump warned on Sunday that the Iranian regime needed to stop &#8220;playing games&#8221; with the United States, blaming former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden for the fact that they&#8217;d done so in the past.
Trump laid out his thoughts in a Sunday afternoon <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/116551553302876569">post</a> on his Truth Social platform, declaring that Iran would soon be &#8220;laughing no longer&#8221; if things did not change.
&#8220;Iran has been playing games with the United States, and the rest of the World, for 47 years (DELAY, DELAY, DELAY!), and then finally hit &#8216;pay dirt&#8217; when Barack Hussein Obama became President,&#8221; Trump began, noting that the regime would always call for negotiations but then would never come to the table in good faith — and he argued that Obama had fallen right into their trap.
&#8220;He was not only good to them, he was great, actually going to their side, jettisoning Israel, and all other Allies, and giving Iran a major and very powerful new lease on life,&#8221; Trump continued, referencing Obama&#8217;s part in sealing the Iran Nuclear Deal and in freeing up billions of dollars that were then delivered to the world&#8217;s leading state sponsor of terrorism.
&#8220;Hundreds of Billions of Dollars, and 1.7 Billion Dollars in green cash, flown into Tehran, was handed to them on a silver platter. Every Bank in D.C., Virginia, and Maryland was emptied out — It was so much money that when it arrived, the Iranian Thugs had no idea what to do with it,&#8221; he said. &#8220;They had never seen money like this, and never will again. Trump went on to argue that Biden had been even worse for the United States — and better for Iran — saying, &#8220;They finally found the greatest SUCKER of them all, in the form of a weak and stupid American President. He was a disaster as our &#8216;Leader,&#8217; but not as bad as Sleepy Joe Biden!&#8221;
In summation, Trump declared that his administration would not tolerate an Iranian regime that stalled negotiations to wait out American presidents and continued to kill their own people simply for protesting.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio pushed back on reporters who wondered why there appeared to be less &#8220;cease&#8221; than &#8220;fire&#8221; in the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, saying that &#8220;only stupid countries&#8221; would allow an enemy to attack with impunity.
Rubio fielded questions from the press on Friday, saying that the United States was not engaging in any acts of aggression, but also was not going to let attacks from Iran go unanswered.

The reporter followed that up by asking whether or not Rubio had communicated with the Iranians, making it clear where any &#8220;red lines&#8221; might be.
Rubio&#8217;s answer was unequivocal: &#8220;No, the red line is clear: if they threaten Americans, they&#8217;re going to get blown up. I mean, that&#8217;s the — that&#8217;s — how much clearer can you be than that? If you fire on — if you are a missile-launching guy, whatever you call that job, and you&#8217;re sitting there and you fire a missile at the United States and we saw you fire it, we&#8217;re going to hit you. Of course we are!&#8221;
&#8220;Who doesn&#8217;t do that?&#8221; he asked. &#8220;Unless you want to get your ship sunk. We&#8217;re not going to let our ships get sunk by the Iranians with their little drones that they&#8217;re firing. Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) announced his plan to make California the first state to provide &#8220;free diapers&#8221; to newborns leaving the hospital — funneling the money for the program through a nonprofit headed by a friend of California&#8217;s self-described &#8220;First Partner.&#8221;
Baby2Baby co-CEO Norah Weinstein sits on the board of Jennifer Siebel Newsom&#8217;s group &#8220;California Partners Project&#8221; — and it&#8217;s Baby2Baby that will take point on the $20 million diaper project, which is supposed to provide every family leaving the hospital with a newborn with 400 diapers.

As The Media Research Center&#8217;s Brittany Hughes pointed out, 400 diapers sounds like a lot until you experience life with a newborn.
&#8220;400 diapers will last a family with a newborn approximately five weeks,&#8221; Hughes <a href="https://x.com/realbritthughes/status/2052795517940191634?s=46">pointed out</a>. And although five weeks without needing to buy diapers would certainly help some families, what is the actual cost?
&#8220;The program will cost the state approx $12.4 million this year alone,&#8221; Hughes added. &#8220;That money will be funneled through a company called Baby2Baby, which will then provide their branded diapers to 400 participating in hospitals (California has over 500 hospitals in total.) Meaning that instead of lowering taxes and letting families keep their own money to buy essentials like diapers, California takes their money, pumps it through a &#8216;nonprofit&#8217; that has overhead and whose CEO made $240,000 in 2024, to provide a &#8216;free&#8217; service available only in certain locations, and that you could have bought yourself for much cheaper.&#8221;
The &#8220;free diaper&#8221; project is far from the <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/08/27/us-news/jennifer-siebel-newsom-making-big-money-from-nonprofit-sources/">first time</a> that California&#8217;s &#8220;First Partner&#8221; has profited from her husband&#8217;s political position. As The New York Post reported in late August, 2025, Jennifer Siebel Newsom received donations through her Representation Project nonprofit  — which promotes radical gender ideology — from companies that lobbied Governor Newsom&#8217;s administration.
She also controls Girls Club Entertainment LLC, a for-profit film company, that pulled in $150,000 from the Representation Project in 2024.
The Representation Project also hosts an annual gala titled &#8220;Flip the Script,&#8221; and among the attendees are often at least a handful of high-dollar donors to Gavin Newsom&#8217;s political ambitions.
&#8220;These types of connections certainly appear unseemly and raise some serious red flags,&#8221; Michael Chamberlain, director of Protect the Public’s Trust, told The Post at the time.

Democratic Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is withdrawing from a May 13 candidate forum — with just over two weeks to go before the primary election that could decide her fate.
Bass, who sparred with former reality TV star Spencer Pratt (MTV&#8217;s &#8220;The Hills&#8221;) and Democratic socialist city councilwoman Nithya Raman on the debate stage last week, pulled out of the forum despite previously confirming her attendance.
League of Women Voters of Greater Los Angeles and the Pat Brown Institute for Public Affairs issued a <a href="https://ktla.com/news/local-news/karen-bass-cancels-appearance-at-televised-l-a-mayoral-forum/">statement</a> on Bass&#8217;s apparent reversal, saying, &#8220;Mayor Bass’s withdrawal is disappointing. Public forums such as this are a cornerstone of democratic accountability. These forums provide voters with the opportunity to hear candidates share their perspectives, respond to questions, and engage with one another on issues facing Los Angeles.&#8221;
The organizations touted their joint history of sponsoring candidate events that were presented in a fair and balance fashion, and allowed candidates across all parties to address the issues that mattered most.
&#8220;We remain committed to providing voters with meaningful opportunities to engage with those seeking public office,&#8221; the statement concluded.
Campaign spokesperson Alex Stack explained that Bass had decided to forgo the candidate forum because she&#8217;d already debated her &#8220;top two&#8221; opponents — referring to Raman and Pratt — and would instead be &#8220;in Sacramento that day fighting for funding for housing, homelessness, and Palisades Fire recovery, and will also discuss the city and state partnership on the Olympics and World Cup.&#8221;
Several of those topics — particularly homelessness, housing, and the Palisades Fire — were topics of heated exchanges during the previous debate. Pratt, who lost his home in the Palisades Fire, challenged both Bass and Raman directly over their actions (or lack thereof) that he claims exacerbated the deadly blaze.
Three candidates are still expected to participate in the Wednesday forum: Raman, Adam Miller and Rae Huang. Pratt was initially invited to participate but had declined due to a prior scheduling conflict.

Last October, then-Attorney General Jason Miyares (R-VA) warned Democrats that their unconstitutional redistricting gamble would do little more than waste the taxpayers&#8217; time and money.
The Virginia Supreme Court ruled on Friday that the newly-drawn congressional map — which skews dramatically in favor of Democrats — is flagrantly unconstitutional. But when all was said and done, as Miyares pointed out, the measure had already run up a $70 million tab — some of which was to be paid by taxpayers.
HB 1384, the amendment that set the special election, set aside $5 million of taxpayer money in order to pay for that election — but it did not cap the amount, meaning that supplemental funding may have been added to that as needed.
In addition to the taxpayer dollars, millions were spent on ads promoting the measure.

Miyares issued his opinion on October 28, 2025, saying in part, &#8220;My office just issued an official opinion explaining that the constitutionally required process to amend the Virginia Constitution cannot be short-circuited by a last-minute vote of the General Assembly taken during an ongoing election.&#8221;

The Virginia Supreme Court ultimately <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/virginia-supreme-court-strikes-down-redistricting-in-brutal-blow-to-democrats">agreed with Miyares</a>, ruling on Friday 4-3 that irregularities in the process had resulted in a new map that would not stand.
&#8220;In this case, the Commonwealth submitted a proposed constitutional amendment to Virginia voters in an unprecedented manner that violated the intervening-election requirement in Article XII, Section 1 of the Constitution of Virginia,&#8221; the Court held, adding, &#8220;This violation irreparably undermines the integrity of the resulting referendum vote and renders it null and void.&#8221;
So the Commonwealth of Virginia is right back where it started — albeit a bit poorer — for the Democrats&#8217; efforts to put a thumb in the midterm scales.
