A U.S. District Court judge on Wednesday pushed back Luigi Mangione&#8217;s federal trial one month despite the prosecution expressing concerns that any delay could add fuel to Mangione&#8217;s cult following.
Judge Margaret Garnett said the trial&#8217;s start date will move from the beginning of September to October due to “paramount issues” related to Mangione&#8217;s ability to participate in each part of the trial, The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/01/nyregion/mangione-weinstein-trial-manhattan.html">reported</a>. Mangione is also facing a state trial in New York over the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, and the suspect&#8217;s defense team raised concerns that the beginning of the federal trial would overlap with the state trial, which is set to begin in June.
Mangione&#8217;s lawyers asked Garnett to move the federal trial&#8217;s start date to January 2027, but they&#8217;ll now have to accept the one-month delay. Mangione threw a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/luigi-mangione-erupts-in-courtroom-outburst-after-judge-sets-state-trial-date?author=Zach+Jewell&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Luigi+Mangione+Erupts+In+Courtroom+Outburst+After+Judge+Sets+State+Trial+Date">tantrum</a> in state court in February after the judge set his trial date for June.
The prosecution likely isn&#8217;t too pleased with Garnett&#8217;s decision either. Assistant U.S. attorney Dominic Gentile argued before the judge that it was necessary for the federal trial to &#8220;proceed as the court has already scheduled&#8221; because of the concerning wave of support for Mangione. Gentile told the judge that just outside of the courtroom there was a crowd of demonstrators “who follow this defendant and believe what he did was right.”
Mangione has been lifted up as a type of vigilante hero by radical leftists who are incensed by the health insurance industry. Some of Mangione&#8217;s supporters, often donning hats and costumes of the Super Mario Nintendo character Luigi, have gathered outside of the courthouse in New York for each of his court appearances.

Thompson, a 50-year-old father and husband, was in New York City for UnitedHealthcare&#8217;s annual investor conference when he was gunned down from behind on December 4, 2024. After arresting Mangione, authorities found a diary on him that included passages raging against the health insurance industry and also contained a line about taking out &#8220;the CEO at the annual parasitic bean counter convention.&#8221;
Garnett said the state trial limits the options for the federal court, stating, &#8220;Whether we like it or not, we are at the will of the state case,&#8221; NBC News <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/luigi-mangiones-federal-trial-unitedhealthcare-ceo-killing-pushed-back-rcna266248">reported</a>.
&#8220;It’s the nature of dual prosecutions,&#8221; she added.
Earlier this year, Garnett threw out the federal murder charge that made Mangione eligible for the death penalty. Attorney General Pam Bondi had directed federal prosecutors to seek the death penalty. Mangione now only faces two stalking charges in the federal case. He faces a charge of second-degree murder in the state case.
Mangione has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday morning heard arguments on President Donald Trump&#8217;s executive order limiting birthright citizenship.
Trump attended part of the hearing, becoming the first sitting president in history to sit in on Supreme Court oral arguments. Trump sat in the hearing while Solicitor General D. John Sauer presented the administration&#8217;s argument and then left the Supreme Court once Sauer finished his argument.
&#8220;We are the only Country in the World STUPID enough to allow &#8216;Birthright&#8217; Citizenship!&#8221; Trump posted on Truth Social shortly after the conclusion of the oral arguments.
The case centers on the Trump administration&#8217;s interpretation of the 14th Amendment, and the president&#8217;s attempt to clarify who qualifies as a person born in the United States and &#8220;subject to the jurisdiction thereof.&#8221; The White House argues that the 14th Amendment &#8220;has always excluded from birthright citizenship persons who were born in the United States but not &#8216;subject to the jurisdiction thereof.'&#8221;
Based on this understanding, Trump&#8217;s executive order states that a baby born to parents who were not American citizens or lawful permanent residents at the time of the birth should not automatically be granted citizenship. Trump&#8217;s order also states that a baby born to parents who were in the United States lawfully, but only on a temporary tourist or student visa, should not be granted citizenship.
The three liberal justices quickly signaled their opposition to Trump&#8217;s executive order, and Chief Justice John Roberts, along with conservative Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett, expressed some skepticism about the Trump administration&#8217;s historical arguments.
Roberts said he was confused by some of the Trump administration&#8217;s arguments, adding that Sauer was relying on &#8220;very quirky&#8221; exceptions to birthright citizenship, such as children born to enemies during an invasion or occupation or children born to foreign diplomats.
Roberts also pushed back on Sauer after the solicitor general argued, &#8220;It&#8217;s a new world where eight billion people are a plane ride away from having a child who&#8217;s a U.S. citizen.&#8221;
&#8220;It&#8217;s a new world; it&#8217;s the same Constitution,&#8221; Roberts replied.
Conservative Justice Samuel Alito signaled agreement with some of the Trump administration&#8217;s historical argument related to birthright citizenship questions addressed in the 1898 case United States v. Wong Kim Ark. In that case, justices ruled 6-2 that a man born in the United States to Chinese-citizen parents automatically became a U.S. citizen under the 14th Amendment. While the 1898 ruling ruled in favor of applying the 14th Amendment to babies of foreign citizens, the Trump administration has argued that the court set up a clear distinction between legal &#8220;resident aliens&#8221; and illegal immigrants who are subject to deportation.
At one point during the hearing, however, conservative Justice Neil Gorsuch expressed skepticism about the administration&#8217;s arguments on Wong Kim Ark.
&#8220;I am not sure how much you want to rely on Wong Kim Ark,&#8221; Gorsuch said.
Justices Gorsuch and Samuel Alito pressed ACLU lawyer Cecillia Wang on important questions around the term &#8220;domicile,&#8221; which was mentioned many times in Wong Kim Ark. The Trump administration argues that the Constitution&#8217;s framers understood that a person had to be domiciled in the United States for the 14th Amendment to apply to his children.
Alito also acknowledged there is confusion around the phrase in the 14th Amendment, “subject to the jurisdiction thereof.”
“‘Subject to the jurisdiction thereof’ is the puzzle wrapped in an enigma wrapped in a mystery,” Alito said.
The Trump administration argues that the Constitutional phrase means that people who travel to the United States from foreign countries remain subjects of their home government, meaning their children should be exempted from birthright citizenship. Those challenging Trump&#8217;s order agree that &#8220;subject to the jurisdiction thereof&#8221; sets up exceptions for birthright citizenship, but those exceptions are limited to children of foreign diplomats and babies born to enemies during an invasion.
Trump&#8217;s birthright citizenship order was one of the many moves he made on his first day back in office last January to address illegal immigration. The president has argued that migrants often take advantage of birthright citizenship by giving birth to children on American soil after crossing the border illegally.
The 14th Amendment, which was ratified just three years after the end of the Civil War, clarified that the children born to African slaves were American citizens.
&#8220;Birthright Citizenship is not about rich people from China, and the rest of the World, who want their children, and hundreds of thousands more, FOR PAY, to ridiculously become citizens of the United States of America,&#8221; Trump said on Monday. &#8220;It is about the BABIES OF SLAVES!&#8221;
The president&#8217;s order was never allowed to go into effect, as it was blocked by federal courts around the country immediately after Trump signed it. Groups opposed to Trump&#8217;s interpretation of the 14th Amendment argue that birthright citizenship has always been understood to apply to anyone born in the United States.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday afternoon aimed at securing mail-in voting and ensuring that only eligible voters are allowed to cast ballots in federal elections.
While states are responsible for the election process, including their mail-in voting systems, Trump&#8217;s order seeks to use the power of the federal government to verify that mail-in ballots are only sent to American citizens who are eligible to vote. The order, which was first <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2026/03/31/trump-mail-in-voting-executive-order-save-america-act-midterms/">reported</a> by The Daily Caller, requires the Department of Homeland Security to create a list of American voters and tasks the United States Postal Service with ensuring that absentee ballots are only sent to people on the list.
&#8220;The right to vote in Federal elections is reserved exclusively for citizens of the United States under the Constitution and Federal law,&#8221; Trump&#8217;s <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2026/03/ensuring-citizenship-verification-and-integrity-in-federal-elections/">order</a> states. &#8220;Federal statutes explicitly prohibit non-citizens from registering to vote or voting in Federal elections and impose criminal penalties for violations.&#8221;
Under the order, the federal data on eligible voters would be shared with state election officials, who would see who is on the list of eligible voters in their jurisdictions. States would receive the list of confirmed voters no fewer than 60 days before each federal election, the order stipulates. The order also requires that absentee ballots are placed into envelopes that have specific barcodes to make them easy to track.
In the order, Trump instructs the attorney general to prosecute state and local officials and any public or private entities that issue ballots to ineligible voters.
Immediately after signing the order, the president acknowledges that a federal judge would likely challenge his action.
&#8220;You may find a rogue judge, you have a lot of rogue judges — very bad, bad, people, very bad judges. But that&#8217;s the only way that can be changed, and hopefully we&#8217;ll win on appeal if it is,&#8221; Trump <a href="https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/2039097783420887348">said</a>. &#8220;I don&#8217;t see how anybody can challenge it.&#8221;
Trump is attempting to address concerns around mail-in voting through executive action as the Republican-led Senate sits on the SAVE America Act, legislation pushed by Trump that would impose more restrictions on mail-in voting and require voters to provide ID and proof of citizenship when they register.
Trump has pressured Republicans to pass the SAVE America Act, but the bill would have to overcome the 60-vote filibuster threshold that Democrats are relying on to block the voter ID legislation. Trump has argued that the SAVE America Act is vital to maintain trust in U.S. elections, and his push for stronger voter ID and mail-in ballot laws comes just months before the important 2026 midterm elections.
Democrats have already condemned Trump&#8217;s order as &#8220;unconstitutional&#8221; and argue that the president&#8217;s action would disenfranchise voters. Democrats are also united in their opposition to the SAVE America Act, with the party claiming that stricter voter ID and citizenship requirements would prevent tens of millions of people from voting.

The Chicago Bulls released guard Jaden Ivey on Monday after Ivey posted multiple videos on social media, calling out the NBA&#8217;s celebration of LGBT &#8220;unrighteousness&#8221; and speaking about his Christian faith.
Ivey, who is averaging over eight points per game this season, was dropped by the Bulls just a month after he arrived in Chicago due to a trade with the Detroit Pistons. In one video Ivey posted on Instagram on Monday, the guard ripped the NBA for celebrating LGBT &#8220;Pride&#8221; month.
&#8220;The world can proclaim LGBTQ, right?&#8221; Ivey <a href="https://x.com/CollinRugg/status/2038738011270316391">said</a>. &#8220;They proclaim &#8216;Pride Month&#8217; in the NBA. They proclaim it. They show it to the world. They say, &#8216;Come join us for Pride Month to celebrate unrighteousness.&#8217; They proclaim it. They proclaim it on the billboards. They proclaim it on the streets. Unrighteousness.&#8221;
In another video that Ivey recorded while on an airplane, he called out NBA star Stephen Curry and questioned Curry&#8217;s Christian faith.
&#8220;He&#8217;s not even surrendered and y&#8217;all believe he&#8217;s a Christian. Y&#8217;all believe he&#8217;s a Christian because he wrote Philippians 4:13. Ya&#8217;ll think he&#8217;s a Christian, but he&#8217;s cursing just like the world. &#8230; He don&#8217;t know Jesus and I pray he comes to the truth,&#8221; Ivey said.
The Bulls announced on Monday afternoon that the team was releasing Ivey &#8220;due to conduct detrimental to the team.&#8221; Bulls head coach Billy Donovan told reporters shortly after the team&#8217;s decision that he didn&#8217;t want to get into details about Ivey&#8217;s social media posts. Donovan added that in his conversations with Ivey, the player has been focused on trying to rehab after suffering a knee injury and said the team hoped Ivey would be part of the roster for the &#8220;long term&#8221; after he was traded from Detroit.
&#8220;Organizationally, there’s certain standards I think we want to have as an organization and live up to those each and every day,&#8221; Donovan <a href="https://x.com/JaredWeissNBA/status/2038751592057294936?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E2038751592057294936%7Ctwgr%5Ee795ca8f1b3bb021752081dacccc890210ee6a36%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sportingnews.com%2Fus%2Fnba%2Fnews%2Fwhat-happened-jaden-ivey-bulls-release%2F2bd343bb5e15d6d88ce54c84">said</a>, adding, &#8220;Everybody comes with their own personal experiences, right? Ivey responded in another social media video after the Bulls dropped him.
&#8220;They said my conduct is detrimental to the team, right? Why didn&#8217;t they just say we don&#8217;t agree with his stance on LGBTQ? Why didn&#8217;t they say that?&#8221; Ivey <a href="https://x.com/robbystarbuck/status/2038800068837359978">asked</a>. &#8220;How is it conduct detrimental to the team? What did I do to the team? What did I do to the players? I did nothing but practice with them, play with them, pass the ball to them, [be] a good teammate to them.&#8221;
&#8220;So why is it that the NBA and the Chicago Bulls say I&#8217;m detrimental to the team? How? Because I believe in the truth? Because I know Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life?&#8221; he added.
Some Christian athletes have come out in defense of Ivey after he was released by the Bulls. Patriots star running back TreVeyon Henderson <a href="https://x.com/TreVeyonH4/status/2038786657608941846">reposted</a> a clip of Ivey&#8217;s comments about gay &#8220;Pride&#8221; alongside a Bible verse from Matthew 5:10, which states, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
Henderson&#8217;s coach, Mike Vrabel, was <a href="https://x.com/LosTalksPats/status/2038994093905485826">asked</a> about the running back&#8217;s support for Ivey and told reporters that he wants players like Henderson to express what they believe, but added that he wants to &#8220;make sure that they’re educated.&#8221;
&#8220;We want to be inclusive. Everything we want to do, we want to provide an environment for people to feel comfortable, but also to share their personal beliefs. And also, we represent the team, and we represent the organization,&#8221; Vrabel added.
New York Jets cornerback Azareyeh Thomas also posted support for Ivey and his stance against LGBT &#8220;Pride&#8221; celebrations.
&#8220;The world will try to make sin look normal and righteousness look strange. Believer or not, every single person on earth will soon have an appointment before Jesus. So if living for Christ makes us look crazy or &#8216;weird,&#8217; that&#8217;s okay because it isn&#8217;t strange to Christ. (Romans 14:12, 2 Cor. 5:10),&#8221; Thomas <a href="https://x.com/Azareyehthomas/status/2038740853229850794">wrote</a>. “&#8217;Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness…&#8217; Isaiah 5:20.&#8221;
Miami Dolphins long snapper Blake Ferguson also publicly <a href="https://x.com/blakeferguson48/status/2038830950403158285">backed</a> Ivey after the Bulls player was released.
Former New Orleans Saints tight end and outspoken Christian Benjamin Watson <a href="https://x.com/BenjaminSWatson/status/2038798555259818143">said</a> he expects the Bulls to clarify what exactly led to Ivey&#8217;s release.
&#8220;Conduct detrimental covers a host of actions. It’s a catch all term for everything from being late to curfew, to saying the wrong thing to the media, to fighting in the locker room. It allows clubs to discipline players without specifying certain actions. I expect the Bulls to clarify if it also includes using the term &#8216;unrighteousness.&#8217; If so that’s an even bigger problem,&#8221; Watson said.
Ivey has recently become more outspoken about his Christian faith and has even opened up about his struggles with depression this season. After Ivey was kept on the bench for an entire month despite being healthy in February, the guard told reporters that because of his faith, he &#8220;wasn&#8217;t the same player as he used to be.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;m not the J.I. I used to be. The old J.I. is dead,&#8221; Ivey said. &#8220;I&#8217;m alive in Christ no matter what the basketball setting is.&#8221;
Ivey also <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7159179/2026/03/30/jaden-ivey-waived-bulls-nba-pride-month/">faced criticism</a> for some of his responses to people who commented on his Instagram videos. In one instance, a person asked the NBA player about going to confession, and Ivey replied by writing, “Catholicism is a false religion. And is not the true Doctrine of Christ. [It] does not lead to salvation in Jesus Christ.”
Another person commented on Ivey&#8217;s video and wrote, &#8220;Sending prayers. Detroit misses you.&#8221; Ivey responded to that comment, writing, &#8220;God does not hear your Prayer if you are a sinner.&#8221;

President Donald Trump spoke to Tiger Woods after the golfer&#8217;s rollover crash and DUI arrest in South Florida last week, saying on Tuesday that Woods is &#8220;doing great&#8221; despite suffering &#8220;a lot of pain.&#8221;
“He tested negative for alcohol, as you know, and he is under a tremendous physical pressure from his various ailments, you know, the back and the leg,” Trump <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/03/31/sports/trump-on-tiger-woods-florida-rollover-dui-crash-tells-the-post-vanessas-boyfriend-endures-a-life-of-pain/?utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=nypost">told</a> The New York Post. “He lives a life of pain. He has a lot of pain. He’s an amazing guy. He’s an amazing athlete. He does have pain.”
Trump has previously talked about his close relationship the 15-time major champion who is dating Trump&#8217;s former daughter-in-law, Vanessa Trump. Vanessa is the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr. and the mother of the president&#8217;s granddaughter, Kai, who committed to the University of Miami to play golf.
Woods was arrested last Friday and charged with DUI after he crashed his Range Rover into a truck that was towing a power washer trailer. According to the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tiger-woods-crash-affidavit-details-what-was-found-in-his-pocket">arrest affidavit</a>, a sheriff&#8217;s deputy searched Woods after the crash and found two hydrocodone pills in the golfer’s pants pocket, TMZ reported on Tuesday. Hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opioid that is typically taken for severe and long-term pain.
Authorities said a breathalyzer test showed no alcohol in his system, but a deputy described Woods as “lethargic and slow,” with “bloodshot and glassy” eyes and “extremely dilated” pupils. Woods told the deputy that he takes “a few” prescription medications but said he was distracted by his phone and radio before crashing.
&#8220;He doesn’t have an alcohol problem,&#8221; Trump told the Post. &#8220;But he does have pain.&#8221;
Woods has undergone multiple surgeries for back issues he dealt with during his decades-long career at the top of the golf world. He also suffered serious leg injuries in a car crash in Los Angeles in 2021.
In recent months, Woods has been working to return to professional golf and had initially set his sights on playing in the 2026 Masters, which begins next week.
&#8220;I&#8217;ve been trying,&#8221; Woods <a href="https://www.facebook.com/YahooSports/posts/tiger-woods-wants-to-return-to-the-masters-barring-his-recovery-from-back-surger/1542548150567269/">said</a> last week about the work he&#8217;s been putting in to recover and prepare for the Masters. &#8220;This body just doesn&#8217;t recover like it was when it was 24, 25.&#8221;
While Woods took a breathalyzer test after the crash, he refused to take a urine test, according to the arrest affidavit. Woods was charged with DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test. He is scheduled to appear in a Martin County, Florida, court for an arraignment on April 23.

A sheriff&#8217;s deputy said when he searched Woods, he found two hydrocodone pills in the golfer&#8217;s pants pocket. Woods told authorities he takes &#8220;a few&#8221; prescription medications but said he was distracted by his phone and radio before crashing into a truck that was towing a pressure washer trailer.
Hydrocodone is a potent semi-synthetic opioid that is typically taken for severe and long-term pain. The painkiller is <a href="https://www.dea.gov/press-releases/2014/08/21/dea-publish-final-rule-rescheduling-hydrocodone-combination-products">classified</a> as a Schedule II controlled substance by the U.S. government, which warns that hydrocodone is among &#8220;some of the most addictive and potentially dangerous prescription medications available.&#8221;
Woods, 50, is widely considered one of the greatest golfers of all time. He has dealt with significant injuries throughout his career, including multiple back surgeries and serious leg injuries from a 2021 car crash in Los Angeles. He previously pleaded guilty to reckless driving in 2017 after being found asleep in his vehicle, and later admitted he had been taking prescription medications following back surgery.

The man who targeted the largest Jewish Reform synagogue in Michigan earlier this month was directed by Iranian-backed Lebanese terror group Hezbollah and had watched footage of an Iranian fatwa for &#8220;total jihad against the U.S. military&#8221; shortly before carrying out his attack, the Department of Justice said on Monday.
Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, a 41-year-old Lebanese national, purposefully targeted the Jewish community when he drove his vehicle into Michigan&#8217;s largest synagogue and opened fire on March 12. The Department of Justice said at a press conference on Monday that Ghazali was directed by Hezbollah, which was confirmed by an investigation into his electronic devices and online activity.
&#8220;This man acted under Hezbollah&#8217;s direction and control,&#8221; said Jerome Gorgon, Jr., the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan. &#8220;I&#8217;ve seen some odd attempts to explain away or even lessen this terrorist attack by claiming that he was an isolated lone wolf, but that is misleading. Terrorist propaganda is designed to activate the so-called lone wolf to act on behalf of the terrorist organization, and it makes no legal difference if the current leader of Hezbollah himself, Naim Qassem, called this man and told him to attack Temple Israel, or whether he simply heeded Hezbollah&#8217;s call to kill Jews, and in his words, &#8216;burn there world.'&#8221;
Ghazali was killed after exchanging gunfire with security guards at Temple Israel. If Ghazali had survived, Gorgon said he is confident a jury would convict the terrorist of providing material support to Hezbollah.
The FBI said that Ghazali drove his through the doors of Temple Israel &#8220;at a high rate of speed&#8221; and continued 200 feet down the hallway before he appeared to set off fireworks that were inside his vehicle. A photo shared by the FBI at the press conference show the attacker&#8217;s vehicle come to stop just a few feet from a baby stroller. Temple Israel houses a daycare and dozens of small children were present when Ghazali carried out his attack.

&#8220;This evidence shows that the attacker meant to cause a significant amount of harm to the members and the children of Temple Israel,&#8221; FBI Detroit Special Agent in Charge Jennifer Runyan said.
One of the security guards was injured after he was struck by Ghazli&#8217;s vehicle, but no one else was harmed in the attack.
While the terrorist sat in his vehicle in the parking lot of Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan, before carrying out his attack, he sent numerous videos and posts to his sister in Lebanon that the FBI said reaffirmed his commitment to carry out a terrorist attack on behalf of Hezbollah. Some of the posts referenced martyrdom and his desire to carry out an attack on &#8220;the largest gathering of Israelis in Michigan.&#8221; One of the posts Ghazali sent to his sister stated that &#8220;jihad is the gateway to heaven.&#8221;
Ghazali also mentioned his family members who were recently killed in an Israeli strike on Hezbollah in Lebanon. According to the Israel Defense Forces, Ghazali&#8217;s brother was a Hezbollah commander, and President Donald Trump&#8217;s Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard <a href="https://x.com/KassyAkiva/status/2034278249958940838">confirmed</a> earlier this month that the synagogue attacker had &#8220;familial ties to a Hezbollah leader.&#8221;
The FBI said on Monday that even before some of Ghazali&#8217;s family members were killed in Lebanon, he was consuming Hezbollah propaganda. The attacker had searched pro-Hezbollah content online since January of this year, including following breaking news and statements from Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem. Ghazali also recently watched an Iranian fatwa for &#8220;total jihad against the U.S. military,&#8221; according to Runyan.
On March 9, three days before he attacked Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan, Ghazali began viewing websites of synagogues in his area. Ghazali worked and lived in Dearborn, a majority-Muslim city in Michigan. Later on March 9, the terrorist attempted to purchase weapons from two different people, but they eventually turned him down. Ghazali then went to a gun store in Dearborn Heights, where he purchased an AR-style rifle, 10 magazines, and around 300 rounds of ammunition.
&#8220;Throughout the night of March 9, the assailant began visiting numerous different web pages of Jewish cultural, educational, and religious centers all throughout the Detroit-metro area,&#8221; Runyan said. &#8220;And even viewed multiple pages of upcoming events at Temple Israel.&#8221;
Over the next few days, Ghazali searched online for &#8220;the largest gathering of Israelis in Michigan,&#8221; &#8220;orthodox synagogues,&#8221; &#8220;Israelis near me,&#8221; and &#8220;what time is the Trump rally in Michigan.&#8221; The FBI said that the terrorist tried to delete his online searches, but authorities &#8220;were able to recover them.&#8221;
Ghazali went to a gun range to practice firing with his new weapon two days before the shooting and purchased around $2,200 worth of fireworks from a local vendor.

Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Dr. Abdul El-Sayed is facing scrutiny after audio surfaced of him telling staff he wanted to avoid commenting on the killing of Iran&#8217;s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei because &#8220;a lot&#8221; of constituents in the majority-Muslim city of Dearborn, Michigan, would be upset.
The comments from El-Sayed, a leftist Muslim running for the open U.S. Senate seat in Michigan, were published Monday by the <a href="https://freebeacon.com/democrats/there-are-a-lot-of-people-in-dearborn-who-are-sad-democratic-senate-hopeful-abdul-el-sayed-said-he-needed-to-stay-silent-on-khamenei-killing-because-many-of-michigans-muslim-voters/">Washington Free Beacon</a>. During a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWasygt04SU">call</a> with his communications team on March 1, just one day after President Donald Trump launched &#8220;Operation Epic Fury,&#8221; El-Sayed laid out his strategy for addressing the conflict.
&#8220;I also want to remind you guys that there are a lot of people in Dearborn who are sad today. So, like, I just don&#8217;t want to comment on Khamenei at all. Like, I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s worth even touching that,&#8221; El-Sayed said.
Michigan holds one of the highest concentrations of Muslims in the United States, with the vast majority residing in Dearborn, a suburb of Detroit. Dearborn became the first majority-Muslim city in the United States in 2023. The city recently drew national attention after a resident rammed his vehicle into a synagogue and was killed in a shootout, reportedly after Israeli strikes killed members of his family.
In the conversation, El-Sayed acknowledged that Khamenei was a &#8220;bad man&#8221; but condemned the U.S. strike.
&#8220;The fact that he was a bad man does not justify our breaking of international law and unilateral action outside of wartime,&#8221; he said. &#8220;This is a bigger question about the United States&#8217; responsibility to international law, and we have been breaking it wantonly.&#8221;
In a mock unfriendly interview, one of El-Sayed&#8217;s staffers asked him if he believes the United States is &#8220;authorized to pursue further action&#8221; after Iran launched missile attacks on U.S. bases in the Middle East. In response, the leftist Democrat painted the United States and Israel as the aggressors.
&#8220;Don&#8217;t forget what started this,&#8221; he said. &#8220;The United States and Israel attacked first. So now, you have another country retaliating in what you would expect them to do when they&#8217;re attacked. And now we&#8217;re going to back-justify the thing that we did to start the war in the first place?&#8221;
At another point in the call, El-Sayed also floated a strategy to avoid addressing the Iran war directly if he was asked by reporters to comment on the issue.
&#8220;I&#8217;m just going to go straight to pedophilia, frankly. I&#8217;ll just be like, &#8216;Pedophile president decides that he doesn&#8217;t like the front page news, so he decides to take us into another war,'&#8221; he added.
While prepping his response to the Iran war, El-Sayed also shifted his focus to criticizing Israel.
&#8220;Frankly, this [war] doesn&#8217;t actually benefit the United States. You know who it benefits? It benefits Israel, who has captured too many of our politicians through AIPAC contributions,&#8221; he said.
The Daily Wire reached out to El-Sayed&#8217;s campaign, seeking comment.
El-Sayed&#8217;s legal team told the Free Beacon that the audio from the internal staff meeting &#8220;was obtained without the campaign&#8217;s permission, and without knowledge that individuals were being recorded.&#8221; David Mitrani, of the Sandler Reiff law firm, added, &#8220;The campaign is considering its legal options against the individual in question,&#8221; according to the Free Beacon.
El-Sayed is in a tight race with two other Democrats for the 2026 Senate nomination and has positioned himself as the most progressive choice for Democrats in the primary. El-Sayed boasts endorsements from democratic socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and is advocating for Immigration and Customs Enforcement to be abolished.
During his 2026 Senate campaign, El-Sayed has been in hot water over comments he has made on Israel. Last October, the Democrat sent a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dem-senate-candidate-accuses-israel-of-invading-gaza-in-oct-7-fundraising-email">fundraising email</a> on the two-year anniversary of Hamas&#8217; brutal terrorist attack on Israel, but the email made no mention of Hamas’ atrocities and blamed Israel for launching &#8220;a ground invasion of Gaza.&#8221;
In an interview with The Daily Wire earlier this year, El-Sayed said the email that went out on the anniversary of the October 7 attack was supposed to be sent on a different day, but he added that he still supported the main message of the email.
“It went out, and I very quickly reached out to leaders in the Jewish community to apologize for having stepped on their grief,” he said, adding, “The message in the email is something I stand by.”
El-Sayed also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/michigan-voters-dont-let-radicals-fool-you-into-thinking-theyre-normal">plans to campaign</a> alongside Left-wing streamer Hasan Piker, who has praised terrorist groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah and once said that &#8220;America deserved 9/11.&#8221;

A high school teacher in Texas was shot by a student on Monday, and the 15-year-old boy fatally shot himself, according to authorities.
The shooting occurred at Hill Country College Preparatory High School in Comal County, which sits just north of San Antonio. The school was placed on lockdown after the male student shot a female teacher, the Comal County Sheriff&#8217;s Office said.
The teacher was transported to a hospital, but her condition has not been disclosed as of early Monday afternoon. Authorities said the student died at the scene.
&#8220;We know this is incredibly difficult to hear. What we can tell you is this situation is contained, and there is no ongoing threat to students,&#8221; the sheriff&#8217;s office said.
Students were transported to Bulverde Middle School, which is just over three miles south of the high school where the shooting occurred. The students were reunited with their parents. Comal County Sheriff Mark Reynolds later on Monday that the shooter&#8217;s parents discovered that their son was the shooter at the reunification site.
&#8220;Law enforcement remains on campus as the investigation continues, which is why the school will stay on lockdown for now,&#8221; the sheriff&#8217;s office said in an update at 11:40 a.m. CT. &#8220;We understand how scary this has been for families and our entire community. Thank you for your patience, and for helping us share accurate information. We will continue to keep you updated as we learn more.&#8221;
The Comal County sheriff <a href="https://www.facebook.com/COMALCOUNTYSO">said</a> at a press conference Monday afternoon that &#8220;this situation was contained very, very quickly,&#8221; and multiple different law enforcement agencies responded to the shooting.
Hill Country is a prestigious high school that has top ratings in its math, science, and language arts studies, according to its <a href="https://hccphs.comalisd.org/apps/spotlightmessages/10817">website</a>. Students at Hill Country have the opportunity to receive their high school diplomas, along with an Associate of Science degree with an Industry Based Certification. Sheriff Reynolds said there were around 250 students at Hill Country on Monday who were safely transported to the reunification site.

Vice President JD Vance clapped back at popular podcast host Joe Rogan on Friday after Rogan blasted President Donald Trump&#8217;s &#8220;Make America Great Again&#8221; slogan and movement.
During an episode of the &#8220;Joe Rogan Experience&#8221; that dropped earlier this week, Rogan said the &#8220;Make America Great Again&#8221; phrase &#8220;sucks,&#8221; adding that MAGA has become &#8220;a movement of a bunch of dorks.&#8221;
&#8220;First of all, America is great,&#8221; Rogan said during an interview with comedian Dave Smith. &#8220;Make America greater? I&#8217;m down. But &#8216;Make America Great Again&#8217; and then it becomes a movement of a bunch of f*cking dorks? Because a lot of them are dorks. A lot of them are these really weird, f*cking uninteresting, unintelligent people that have got something that they cling to.&#8221;

Vance, who has been friendly with Rogan and appeared on Rogan&#8217;s podcast in October 2024, responded to the comedian&#8217;s comments during an interview with conservative commentator Benny Johnson on Friday.

Both Rogan and Smith backed Trump and Vance in the 2024 election, but they have become increasingly critical of the president over his handling of foreign policy and the Epstein files. Smith, a regular guest on Rogan&#8217;s show, aligns with many of the anti-Israel views spouted by commentators and politicians on the far-Left. Both Rogan and Smith suggested that Trump has betrayed his base over the Iran war, but polling consistently shows that Trump&#8217;s supporters back his actions in Iran.
In another episode of his podcast this week, Rogan brought up MAGA and quipped that Democrats like former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton used to be &#8220;more MAGA than MAGA” on border security.
“Her take on the border was like hardcore,” Rogan said. “If you’ve been convicted of a crime, get out. If you stay here, pay a stiff penalty, and you have to get in line, and you have to learn English! And everyone cheers. Like, that is a hardcore right-wing 2026 perspective.”
He then said that Obama &#8220;deported more people than Trump did.&#8221;
Vance also responded to Rogan&#8217;s comments on Democrats&#8217; past support for border security and said Rogan was &#8220;wrong&#8221; for suggesting that Obama was better at deporting illegal immigrants than Trump.
&#8220;I&#8217;m going to text Joe because that is definitely wrong,&#8221; Vance told Johnson. &#8220;Here&#8217;s why this is wrong: when you look at the deportation numbers that go back to the Obama administration, they would count somebody who showed up at the border and they turned away as a deportation. Vice President JD Vance said on Friday that Somali-born Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar &#8220;definitely committed immigration fraud against the United States of America&#8221; and added that the Trump administration is seeking to &#8220;go after her.&#8221;
Vance, who is leading President Donald Trump&#8217;s anti-fraud crackdown throughout the United States, was <a href="https://x.com/bennyjohnson/status/2037584240259240315">asked</a> about fraud allegations against Omar by conservative commentator Benny Johnson.
&#8220;We actually think that Ilhan Omar definitely committed immigration fraud against the United States of America,&#8221; Vance said. &#8220;And I talked to [Trump adviser] Stephen Miller about this recently, we&#8217;re trying to look at what the remedies are.&#8221;
“What are the legal remedies now that we know she’s committed immigration fraud? How do you go after her? How do you investigate her? How do you build the case necessary to get some justice for the American people?” Vance added.
As Trump zeroed in on investigating fraud in Minnesota in recent months, he brought up allegations that Omar married her brother to help him obtain a green card. Trump has also called for Omar to be &#8220;thrown out of the country.&#8221; People convicted of immigration fraud could be denaturalized and deported under U.S. law, and people can be convicted for fraudulently helping another person obtain naturalization.
Omar arrived in the United States as a refugee in 1995 and became a U.S. citizen in 2000, when she was just 17 years old. Nine years later, Omar married Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, whom some allege is her biological brother. Omar has been accused of marrying Elmi, who was a British citizen at the time, so he could obtain a green card. Omar and Elmi reportedly separated in 2011, just two years after their marriage, and officially divorced in 2017.
Elmi was Omar&#8217;s second husband. She married Ahmed Hirsi in a religious ceremony in 2002, but never made the marriage legally valid. Omar said she split from Hirsi, the father of her three children, in 2008, just one year before she married Elmi. Omar and her first husband reconciled just months after separating from Elmi.
Omar, one of the most liberal lawmakers on Capitol Hill, has <a href="https://www.mprnews.org/story/2016/08/17/ilhan-omar-marriage-history">denied</a> the accusations that she married her biological brother, calling them &#8220;absurd and offensive.&#8221;
Vance also said that Omar is being scrutinized over her connection to &#8220;a lot of the worst fraudsters in the Somali community&#8221; in Minneapolis. The vice president told Johnson that he&#8217;s &#8220;not certain&#8221; that Omar was aware of the fraud being committed in Minnesota, but added, &#8220;We certainly need to investigate it.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;m worried about the immigration fraud,&#8221; Vance said. &#8220;I&#8217;m also worried about what did Ilhan Omar know about what was happening in the Somali community, and why was nobody looking into it until, frankly, Donald Trump came along?&#8221;

FBI Director Kash Patel&#8217;s personal email account was hacked, with some of his correspondence and photos leaked online by a group linked to Iran that has vowed to go after &#8220;all the enemies of Islam in the West.&#8221;
The FBI confirmed to The Daily Wire that Patel&#8217;s account was hacked, but added that &#8220;no government information&#8221; was compromised. The FBI said there is a $10 million reward for information on an Iranian group called the Handala Hack Team, which &#8220;has frequently targeted U.S. government officials.&#8221;
“The FBI is aware of malicious actors targeting Director Patel’s personal email information, and we have taken all necessary steps to mitigate potential risks associated with this activity,&#8221; the bureau said. &#8220;The information in question is historical in nature and involves no government information.&#8221;
The hackers released around 300 documents and multiple photos of Patel. The email correspondence leaked by the hackers was dated between 2010 and 2019, Reuters reported. Some of the photos leaked from Patel&#8217;s personal email include images showing Patel smoking a cigar and standing next to an antique car.
The Handala group is believed to be used by the Iranian regime to carry out cyberattacks on targets throughout the world. The hackers pledge their loyalty to &#8220;the supreme leader Ali Hosseini Khamenei&#8221; and &#8220;declare war on all the enemies of Islam in the West.&#8221; Earlier this month, Handala hackers took credit for illegally gaining access to the server of Stryker, a company in Michigan that provides medical devices.
Just last week, the Justice Department <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-disrupts-iranian-cyber-enabled-psychological-operations">removed</a> four websites operated by the Iranian-backed Handala group. The hackers used the websites to post sensitive stolen data. The website operators also called for &#8220;the killing of journalists, regime dissidents, and Israeli persons,&#8221; according to the Justice Department.
&#8220;Iran thought they could hide behind fake websites and keyboard threats to terrorize Americans and silence dissidents,” Patel said after the Justice Department took down Handala&#8217;s websites. “We took down four of their operation&#8217;s pillars and we&#8217;re not done. This FBI will hunt down every actor behind these cowardly death threats and cyberattacks and will bring the full force of American law enforcement down on them.”
The hack targeting Patel appears to be in response to the Justice Department&#8217;s actions, as the domain used to hack Patel&#8217;s personal email was registered on the same day the Justice Department announced its crackdown on Handala&#8217;s domains.
&#8220;Kash Patel, the current head of the FBI, who once saw his name displayed with pride on the agency&#8217;s headquarters, will now find his name among the list of successfully hacked victims,&#8221; the hackers wrote on their website. &#8220;The so-called &#8216;impenetrable&#8217; systems of the FBI were brought to their knees within hours by our team.&#8221;
