President Donald Trump said on Thursday that the United States is attempting to take back Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan after the base fell to the Taliban during the Biden administration’s disastrous withdrawal in 2021.
Trump made the comment while speaking at a joint press conference with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in the United Kingdom. The president blasted former President Joe Biden’s “total disaster” in Afghanistan, adding that during his first term in office, the Trump administration was planning on leaving the country “with dignity” and wanted to keep Bagram Air Base under U.S. control.
“We gave it to [the Taliban] for nothing,” Trump said. “We&#8217;re trying to get it back, by the way. That could be a little breaking news. We&#8217;re trying to get it back because they need things from us. We want that base back.”
“One of the reasons we want the base is, as you know, it’s an hour away from where China makes its nuclear weapons,” the president added. China has nuclear facilities in Xinjiang, an autonomous territory in northwest China that borders Afghanistan.

Trump did not specify how exactly he would attempt to reclaim the base. Afghanistan is still under the Taliban’s control.
U.S. and NATO forces withdrew from Bagram in early July 2021, which allowed the Taliban to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/report-taliban-overrun-bagram-air-base-numerous-high-value-prisoners-al-qaeda-members-freed">take it over</a> from the Afghan government days before a suicide bombing at the Kabul International Airport killed more than 180 people, including 13 U.S. troops. After gaining control of the massive U.S. base, the Taliban reportedly released terrorist prisoners who were held there. As the Taliban took control of Bagram and the rest of the country, U.S. forces rushed to evacuate troops, U.S. officials, and Afghan allies.

A 40-year-old man was killed in a crash in Chicago on his way to work last week after a group of robbers sped away from a smash-and-grab heist at a Louis Vuitton store on Michigan Avenue. One of the seven suspects charged in connection with the crimes was a community “peacekeeper” and posed for a photo with Illinois Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker just one week before the storefront raid.
Kellen McMiller, 35, is now facing a list of charges that include murder, burglary, and felony theft, Fox 32 Chicago <a href="https://www.fox32chicago.com/news/louis-vuitton-crash-chicago-father-dies">reported</a>. McMiller, who recently posed with Pritzker while wearing his “peacekeeper” uniform, also has outstanding warrants in four states, including Illinois, Florida, Indiana, and Wisconsin, CWB Chicago <a href="https://cwbchicago.com/2025/09/days-before-fatal-mag-mile-crash-and-grab-accused-man-posed-with-governor-at-peacekeeper-event.html">reported</a>. Fox 32 also reported that McMiller was a “peacekeeper,” an individual involved in violence-prevention work, and had “at least four fugitive warrants, according to authorities.”

Footage of the crime reportedly showed the suspects backing a pickup truck through the store windows. The suspects then stole around $700,000 in merchandise, according to court records. Dejuan Wingard, the 30-year-old man who was allegedly behind the wheel of the getaway car, was driving nearly 100 miles per hour when he crashed into the vehicle that 40-year-old Mark Arceta was driving.
Pritzker met with “peacekeepers” in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago two weeks ago as he continues to rail against the Trump administration’s desires to send in federal agents and National Guard troops to address violent crime in the city. Pritzker claimed that the “peacekeepers” are “doing the hard work” of preventing violent crime, adding that “troops on the ground” would hinder that effort.
“In Englewood today to meet with Peacekeepers who are working to create safer communities,” Pritzker <a href="https://www.facebook.com/reel/1378083797214524">wrote</a> on Facebook. “It’s folks like these that we need more of doing the hard work of community violence prevention, not troops on the ground to undermine efforts fighting crime.”
Chicago’s “<a href="https://omb.illinois.gov/public/gata/csfa/Program.aspx?CSFA=3013">Peacekeepers Program</a>,” which began under the Office of Firearm Violence in 2018, aims to rely on “the influence of community residents” to prevent violent crime and partner with “young men and women who live in neighborhoods that are at a high risk for violence.” Pritzker and Chicago Democratic Mayor Brandon Johnson have <a href="https://www.thecentersquare.com/illinois/article_7ede080d-de0f-42d9-9736-905e57762504.html">called</a> for federal funding to go toward “violence interruption programs” while arguing that President Donald Trump’s push to send in the National Guard to clean up Chicago is a dangerous power grab.
“I would love it if he would restore funding for police, would restore funding for violence interruption programs, which we are the best in the country at, I might add,” Pritzker said earlier this month.
A <a href="https://gov-pritzker-newsroom.prezly.com/icymi-governor-pritzker-meets-with-community-members-amid-heightened-concern-of-trumps-federal-deployment-plans">press release</a> issued by the governor’s office on September 5 showed McMiller posing with Pritzker, but the photo was quickly <a href="https://cwbchicago.com/2025/09/days-before-fatal-mag-mile-crash-and-grab-accused-man-posed-with-governor-at-peacekeeper-event.html">removed</a> after reports of McMiller’s suspected involvement in the smash-and-grab robbery and the fatal crash that followed, according to CWB Chicago.
A spokesman for Pritzker&#8217;s office told The Daily Wire, “The Governor meets hundreds of people in communities every week and is often asked to take photos. We were extremely troubled to learn that this individual was arrested for his alleged involvement in this serious crime, and we expect them to be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.&#8221;
&#8220;The Governor will keep doing everything in his power to fight crime, keep our neighborhoods safe, and support community violence intervention, which have been proven to work,&#8221; the spokesman added. &#8220;For example, the Peacekeepers Program has a strong track record reducing violent crime by 41% over the past two years and providing community members with a path towards rehabilitation.”
Arceta, killed in the smash-and-grab, never met his baby boy, who was born the day after his death, Fox 32 reported. At least three of the other suspects in the crime have been arrested multiple times in the past. Darius Bowdry, a 30-year-old man accused in the smash-and-grab, has been arrested 12 times as an adult in Chicago. Alton Jackson, 37, was released on parole in May after he was sentenced to two years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm. It’s the fifth time Jackson has been arrested as an adult in Chicago.
Trump, who has hinted for weeks that National Guard troops would be deployed to Chicago, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-targets-memphis-crime-with-strategy-proven-in-washington-d-c">said</a> on Monday that Chicago is “probably” the next city on his list after he signed a memo directing a crackdown on crime in Memphis, Tennessee.

Limbaugh died in February 2021 at 70 years old after a battle with lung cancer. Limbaugh was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Donald Trump at the 2020 State of the Union. After Kirk was assassinated last week, Trump said he would also award Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
While hosting Kirk&#8217;s show on Wednesday, a teary-eyed Beck told a story of how Kirk told him when they first met that he wanted to become like The Blaze founder. &#8220;Let me translate: &#8216;I want to be Rush Limbaugh.&#8217; He didn&#8217;t want to be me,&#8221; Beck said. &#8220;He wanted to be Rush Limbaugh. &#8230; And I remember thinking, kid, maybe some day because I think you have it.&#8221;

The Federal Reserve slashed interest rates by a quarter of a percentage point on Wednesday following increased pressure from President Donald Trump.
In an 11-1 vote, the Fed policymakers approved a 25-basis-point cut. Stephen Miran, the newest Federal Reserve Board Governor who was appointed by Trump and approved by the Senate earlier this week, was the lone member to dissent, advocating for a half-point cut, CNBC <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/09/17/fed-rate-decision-september-2025.html">reported</a>. The rate cut is unlikely to satisfy the president, either. Trump predicted earlier this week that the Fed would approve a “big cut.”
“It’s perfect for cutting,” Trump <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/5503502-trump-expects-big-interest-rate-cut/">said</a> on Sunday. “We’re doing well and everything — energy is way down, groceries are down, everything, almost everything — is way down.” In a social media <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115208353139528932">post</a> on Monday, Trump called on Fed Chair Jerome Powell to “CUT INTEREST RATES, NOW, AND BIGGER THAN HE HAD IN MIND. HOUSING WILL SOAR!!!”
In a statement following its decision, the Fed pointed to slowing job gains and noted that inflation “has moved up and remains somewhat elevated.”
“Uncertainty about the economic outlook remains elevated,” the statement added. “The Committee is attentive to the risks to both sides of its dual mandate and judges that downside risks to employment have risen.”
Fed Chair Jerome Powell again brought up uncertainty surrounding Trump’s tariffs during a press conference Wednesday afternoon, saying, “Higher tariffs have begun to push up prices in some categories of goods, but they&#8217;re overall effects on economic activity and inflation remain to be seen.”
“Our obligation is to ensure that a one-time increase in the price level does not become an ongoing inflation problem,” Powell added.
The rate cut is the first one that the Fed has announced since Trump was sworn in for his second term. Inflation, which the Fed closely monitors while considering rate cuts, has remained around 3%. Year-over-year inflation is currently at 2.9%, which is above the Fed’s target of 2%, but the rate has remained under 3% since February.
The Fed’s two-day meeting began on Tuesday, shortly after Trump’s nominee, Miran, was approved by the Senate to replace Board Governor Adriana Kugler, who announced that she was stepping down last month. Miran, a senior adviser to Trump, is remaining in his role in the administration while also serving out the remainder of Kugler’s term, which ends in January.
The president tried to fire Board Governor Lisa Cook after she was accused of committing mortgage fraud. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, however, halted Trump’s attempt to remove Cook from her position. Trump is also preparing to appoint a new Fed Chair when Powell’s term as the chair ends in May 2026.
Traders are predicting two more rate cuts later this year, one next month and another in December, The Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/livecoverage/fed-interest-rate-decision-live-09-17-2025?gaa_at=eafs&amp;gaa_n=ASWzDAjBzxLTuEgKlF_q1CHaJ4kgAkagZ4dPx1rrIWLR5-u6YUp62oGeahCc2wwPHHU%3D&amp;gaa_ts=68cad590&amp;gaa_sig=aNUYopYjLk58gGdQM7c1DR1sOnComacJggNy7xpwk9f3fnE3y0divFkvzElsRELOrAUge_PaivpzzWTOgqcl9Q%3D%3D">reported</a>. The markets had a mixed reaction on Wednesday morning as many anticipated the Fed’s decision to lower rates. The Nasdaq Composite and S&amp;P 500 both dropped slightly, but the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose before the decision.
Mortgage rates also dropped to a three-year low on Tuesday ahead of the Fed’s interest rate cut, CNBC <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/09/16/mortgage-rates-drop-to-3-year-low-ahead-of-fed-meeting.html">reported</a>. The average 30-year fixed mortgage rate fell 12 basis points from Monday to Tuesday, down to 6.13%.

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump were treated to full royal honors in the United Kingdom on Wednesday, riding by carriage to Windsor Castle and welcomed by King Charles III, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Catherine, Princess of Wales.

The visit on Wednesday marks the second time Trump has been welcomed to the U.K., following his official state visit in June 2019. Trump is the first U.S. president ever invited to Britain for a second state visit.

Utah County prosecutors on Tuesday released text messages that were sent between suspected assassin Tyler Robinson and his trans-identifying roommate after influential conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was gunned down in Orem, Utah.
At a press conference Tuesday afternoon, Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray revealed more information on Robinson&#8217;s recent shift toward leftist politics while announcing that the suspected assassin is facing seven <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/prosecutors-reveal-charges-against-suspected-charlie-kirk-assassin-will-seek-death-penalty">charges</a>, including aggravated murder, which makes him eligible for the death penalty.
Robinson’s mother told investigators that her son became more political and Left-leaning over the past year, adopting pro-gay and pro-transgender views, according to Gray. Robinson was also dating his roommate, a man who identified as a woman and is in the process of “transitioning,” the attorney added, citing comments Robinson’s mother made to authorities.
Last Wednesday, Robinson texted his roommate, “drop what you are doing, look under my keyboard,&#8221; according to the charging documents. Prosecutors said that when the roommate looked under the keyboard, he found a note stating, “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.” After reading the note, the roommate replied via text, &#8220;What?????????????? You’re joking, right????&#8221; the charging documents stated.
According to the charging documents, Robinson and his roommate then went back and forth in multiple text messages, where the suspected killer revealed information about his desire to assassinate Kirk and his plan to retrieve the rifle used in the shooting after leaving it at a drop point.

Utah County Attorney Jeffrey Gray revealed on Tuesday that suspected Charlie Kirk assassin, Tyler Robinson, faces seven charges, including a count of aggravated murder, which makes him eligible for the death penalty.
At a press conference announcing the charges, Gray added that he would file a notice of intent to seek the death penalty, saying that the decision is based &#8220;on the available evidence and circumstances and nature of the crime.&#8221; The attorney said that the suspected assassin leaned more into leftist politics in the past year and targeted Kirk over his political expression.
Robinson is charged with one count of aggravated murder &#8220;for intentionally or knowingly causing the death of Charlie Kirk under circumstances that created a great risk of death to others.&#8221; The second count is felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury.
&#8220;The state is further alleging aggravating factors on counts one and two because the defendant is believed to have targeted Charlie Kirk based on Charlie Kirk&#8217;s political expression and did so knowing that children were present and would witness the homicide,&#8221; Gray said.
Count three is obstruction of justice &#8220;for moving and concealing the rifle used in the shooting.&#8221; Count four is another obstruction of justice charge &#8220;for disposing the clothing he wore during the shooting.&#8221; Counts five and six are witness tampering &#8220;for directing his roommate to delete his incriminating texts&#8221; and &#8220;for directing his roommate to stay silent if police questioned him.&#8221; The final count is commission of a violent offense in the presence of a child &#8220;for committing homicide knowing that children were present and may have seen or heard the murder and did so based on Charlie Kirk&#8217;s political expression.&#8221;
Robinson&#8217;s mother told investigators that her son became more political and Left-leaning over the past year, adopting pro-gay and pro-transgender views, according to Gray. Gray said that Robinson&#8217;s political shift to the Left and his decision to date his trans-identifying roommate led to multiple conversations with his father &#8220;who had very different political views.&#8221;
Robinson allegedly texted his roommate after the assassination and told him look under a keyboard. The roommate found a note under the keyboard, which stated, &#8220;I have the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I&#8217;m going to take it,&#8221; according to Gray. The attorney added that text messages sent between Robinson and his roommate revealed that Robinson stated that he targeted Kirk because he &#8220;had enough&#8221; of Kirk&#8217;s &#8220;hatred,&#8221; adding, &#8220;Some hatred can&#8217;t be negotiated out.&#8221; In another text message, Robinson allegedly said that he had been planning the assassination for a week.

A New York judge on Tuesday threw out two state charges of murder related to terrorism against Luigi Mangione, the man accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in December.
Judge Gregory Carro tossed charges of murder in furtherance of an act of terrorism and murder in the second degree as a crime of terrorism, saying that the evidence presented to the grand jury did not support terrorism charges, ABC News <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/luigi-mangione-returns-court-1st-time-5-months/story?id=125617908">reported</a>. A second-degree murder charge against the 27-year-old suspect remains in place.
Mangione made his first court appearance in five months on Tuesday after he was arrested in December and accused of killing Thompson, a 50-year-old husband and father of two, in Midtown Manhattan. Thompson was shot from behind on the morning of December 4, 2024, as he was walking near the Hilton hotel in Midtown, which was hosting an annual investor&#8217;s conference.
Mangione also faces federal charges and other state charges in Pennsylvania, where he was arrested five days after Thompson was gunned down. The suspect&#8217;s defense team argued that the New York state charges should be dismissed, claiming that Mangione faces double jeopardy due to the overlap between the federal and state charges, according to <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/new-york-judge-dismisses-state-terrorism-charges-luigi-mangione-keeps-rcna231594">NBC News</a>. The judge called the defense&#8217;s argument &#8220;premature.&#8221;
In April, Mangione was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/luigi-mangione-indicted-on-federal-charge-of-murder-making-him-eligible-for-death-penalty">indicted</a> by a federal grand jury on multiple charges, including murder through the use of a firearm, a count that makes him eligible for the death penalty. Attorney General Pam Bondi said that the DOJ would pursue the death penalty for Mangione, arguing that Thompson&#8217;s killing &#8220;was an act of political violence.&#8221;
Police arrested Mangione at a McDonald&#8217;s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, after a five-day manhunt. Investigators said that a backpack that Mangione was carrying when he was arrested contained the alleged murder weapon, a fake ID, and a diary. Mangione&#8217;s defense team has argued that the evidence seized during Mangione&#8217;s arrest should be suppressed, claiming that police conducted a warrantless search of Mangione&#8217;s belongings.
One entry in the diary found in Mangione&#8217;s backpack discusses how someone should &#8220;wack the CEO at the annual parasitic bean-counter convention,&#8221; according to a court filing.
&#8220;It’s targeted, precise, and doesn’t risk innocents. Most importantly, the point is self-evident,&#8221; the entry added.
&#8220;I finally feel confident about what I will do,&#8221; another entry states, according to authorities. &#8220;The target is insurance. It checks every box.&#8221;
Hearings for Mangione&#8217;s case are set to begin on December 1, but a trial date has not been scheduled. Mangione pleaded not guilty to the state charges in New York and Pennsylvania as well as to the federal charges.

Fulton County, Georgia, District Attorney Fani Willis cannot continue her criminal prosecution of President Donald Trump and his allies after a ruling from the Georgia Supreme Court on Tuesday.
In a 4-3 decision, the state’s high court declined a request from Willis to review the Georgia Court of Appeals’ ruling that disqualified the Democratic district attorney from prosecuting the 2020 election interference case over the conflict of interest she created when she hired her then-boyfriend, Nathan Wade, as a special prosecutor. The ruling means that the 2020 case against Trump and his allies is dead, unless another prosecutor brings charges, The Hill <a href="https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/5505353-willis-disqualification-trump-georgia-case/">reported</a>.
“The Georgia Supreme Court has correctly denied review of the Georgia Court of Appeals decision disqualifying DA Fani Willis and her office as prosecutors in the Fulton County RICO case,” said Steve Sadow, the lead attorney for Trump in Georgia. “Willis’ misconduct during the investigation and prosecution of President Trump was egregious, and she deserved nothing less than disqualification. This proper decision should bring an end to the wrongful political, lawfare persecutions of the President.”
A nonpartisan state agency will now be tasked with finding another prosecutor to determine if the case against Trump can proceed, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution <a href="https://www.ajc.com/politics/2025/09/fani-willis-loses-last-chance-to-stay-at-the-helm-trump-georgia-election-interference-case/">reported</a>. Willis <a href="https://apnews.com/article/fani-willis-appeal-georgia-supreme-court-trump-7be50feee272612484490b53592e7e08">said</a> that she hopes another prosecutor “will have the courage to do what the evidence and the law demand.” If another prosecutor is assigned the case, he could continue pursuing the exact charges that Willis did, choose to pursue some of the charges, or dismiss the case, according to the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/fani-willis-appeal-georgia-supreme-court-trump-7be50feee272612484490b53592e7e08">Associated Press</a>.
In December, the Georgia Court of Appeals ruled that Willis’ actions presented a “rare case in which disqualification is mandated and no other remedy will suffice to restore public confidence in the integrity of these proceedings.” Wade had little experience prosecuting cases when Willis hired him to lead the Fulton County prosecution of Trump. Willis was accused of paying Wade hundreds of thousands of dollars and vacationing with him multiple times, with Wade paying for some of the trips. Both Willis and Wade testified that Willis reimbursed him for her share of the trip costs.
Willis became a star in the Democratic Party when her office brought 13 charges against Trump after he challenged Georgia’s election results in 2020. In 2023, Trump and 18 others were indicted under Georgia’s anti-racketeering law and accused of engaging in a scheme to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election results that helped push Joe Biden into the White House.
Trump said the charges were another political “witch hunt.” The case brought against Trump by Willis’ office resulted in Trump being forced to pose for a mug shot, which quickly went viral. The 22-year-old man suspected of assassinating conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was placed on &#8220;special watch&#8221; in a separate housing unit as he awaits his first court appearance on Tuesday.
Authorities placed Tyler Robinson under the special watch status to &#8220;keep a close eye on him&#8221; as they evaluate his mental health, CBS News <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/charlie-kirk-suspect-special-watch-motive/">reported</a>. Robinson is scheduled to make his first court appearance at 3:00 p.m. MT and is expected to face an aggravated murder charge, which would make him eligible for the death penalty under Utah law if he is convicted.
The Utah County Attorney&#8217;s Office <a href="https://atty.utahcounty.gov/cms/uploads/2025_09_13_Press_Release_Robinson_Arrest_and_Potential_Charges_f526b4de85.pdf">said</a> last week that formal charges will be filed on Tuesday before Robinson&#8217;s arraignment, with a press conference scheduled for noon MT &#8220;to explain those charges and the next steps in this case.&#8221; Robinson is also expected to be charged with obstruction of justice and felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury.
The assassin fired a single bullet that struck Kirk in the neck while he was speaking at Utah Valley University last Wednesday. The shot was fired from the roof of a building on campus that was adjacent to a courtyard where the Kirk event was being held, according to authorities. Videos showed a figure moving along the roof before and after Kirk was shot, and the individual was also seen on video jumping off the roof before escaping the campus.
During their investigation, authorities discovered a bolt-action rifle with a scope wrapped in a towel in a wooded area near the campus. FBI Director Kash Patel said on Monday that DNA analyzed from the towel <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fbi-links-suspects-dna-to-kirk-assassination-weapon">matched</a> the DNA of Robinson. Patel also said that the DNA found on a screwdriver on the roof also matched Robinson&#8217;s DNA.
Robinson was arrested on Thursday night, about 33 hours after the assassination. The suspect&#8217;s father reportedly told Robinson to turn himself in, but then contacted the family&#8217;s youth minister, who is also a U.S. Marshal, when Robinson said he was going to kill himself. The youth minister reportedly contacted the FBI.
State and federal authorities are still working to determine a motive behind the assassination. Utah Republican Governor Spencer Cox and President Donald Trump have pointed to radical leftism as a potential factor in the killing of Kirk, an influential conservative.
“It’s very clear to us and to the investigators that this was a person who was deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology,” Cox said over the weekend.
In comments to reporters on Monday, Trump discussed the federal government looking into a potential role that leftist groups played in the assassination, saying that the Left has &#8220;a lot of problems.&#8221; Trump added that it appears Robinson was &#8220;radicalized&#8221; online.
&#8220;Something happened to him over a fairly short period of time. It looks like he was radicalized over the internet and was radicalized on the Left,&#8221; Trump said.
Robinson, who lived with a trans-identifying roommate, discussed his dislike of Kirk with a family member at a dinner before the assassination and mentioned that Kirk would be coming to Utah Valley University, according to authorities. Officials added that Robinson had become more political in recent years.
In an online messaging account tied to the suspect, Robinson appeared to have confessed to assassinating Kirk, The Washington Post reported on Monday. Just hours before Robinson was arrested, the account linked to him posted on the online messaging platform, Discord, “Hey guys, I have bad news for you all. It was me at UVU yesterday. im sorry for all of this.&#8221;
The message was sent to a small group of his friends, according to a person in the group chat who shared an image of the message with the Post. Discord reportedly sent a copy of the message to law enforcement.

The vice president said that he was struck by how Erika described her husband&#8217;s patience and love.

The FBI is looking into at least seven social media accounts and seeking to determine if anyone knew of a plot to assassinate Charlie Kirk before he was shot and killed last week, The Washington Free Beacon <a href="https://freebeacon.com/politics/exclusive-fbi-investigating-social-media-accounts-that-appeared-to-indicate-foreknowledge-of-kirk-assassination/">reported</a> on Monday, citing three sources familiar with the investigation.
The Free Beacon also published archived screenshots of some of the posts the FBI is investigating. One post mentions Kirk getting assassinated one week before the influential conservative commentator was gunned down. The X account @TallyHallAlbum wrote on September 3, “itd be funny if someone like charlie kirk got shot on september 10th LMAO.”
Another X account, @NajraGalvz, posted a day before the assassination, “Charlie kirk is coming to my college tomorrow i rlly hope someone evaporates him literally.” In a follow-up post, the X user added, “Lets just say something big will happen tomorrow.” In the X bio for @NajraGalvz, the account says it identifies as “nonbinary.” Hours after Kirk was assassinated, @NajraGalvz posted, CHARLIE KIRK GOT SHOT BRO I PROMISE I DIDNT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT.”
One social media account that celebrated Kirk’s assassination uses an X handle that is nearly identical to a TikTok profile that follows the assassin’s trans-identifying roommate, Lance Twiggs, The Free Beacon reported. The X account churbum75m (SAW TYLER JUNE 30) posted after Kirk was pronounced dead, “WE F***ING DID IT.” Churbum75m is also on TikTok, following Twiggs, who has 839 followers.
The Free Beacon reported that in a video posted on TikTok, another social media account said that “charles james kirk … does not know what’s coming tomorrow. be ready … this isn&#8217;t a threat it&#8217;s a promise.”
The posts and some of the accounts that the FBI is looking into were all deleted within days of Kirk’s assassination. The Feds are also investigating whether any pro-transgender groups online knew about plans to kill Kirk in advance, The New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/09/14/us-news/charlie-kirk-assassination-investigation-widens-to-probe-pro-trans-online-groups/">reported</a>. The FBI probe is reportedly looking into groups on the online gaming platform, Steam, along with leftist groups in Utah.
FBI Director Kash Patel said on Monday that DNA found on the towel that was wrapped around the suspected assassin’s rifle matches the DNA of Tyler Robinson, who was arrested on Friday. DNA found on a screwdriver on the roof of a campus building also matches Robinson’s DNA, according to Patel.

Utah Republican Governor Spencer Cox told The Wall Street Journal that it’s become “very clear” to investigators that Robinson was “deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology.”
