<p><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/fox-news">Fox News</a> host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tucker-carlson">Tucker Carlson</a> on Friday evening said staffers from “The Late Show With <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/stephen-colbert">Stephen Colbert</a>” who were charged with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/new-details-emerge-about-stephen-colbert-staffers-who-were-arrested-for-unlawful-entry-into-u-s-house-building">unlawful entry</a> into an office building for the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/u-s-house-of-representatives">U.S. House of Representatives</a> should be locked up in &#8220;solitary confinement&#8221; for a year and a half if authorities are to follow &#8220;precedent,&#8221; citing treatment of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/january-6">January 6, 2020</a>, Capitol breach defendants.</p>
<p>Capitol Police have reportedly charged Colbert staffers with unlawful entry to the U.S. House of Representatives.</p>
<p>&#8220;Nine individuals were arrested on Thursday night for entering the Longworth House Office Building, which was closed to the public at that point, after they previously had been escorted out of another building for trying to conduct interviews related to the January 6 committee hearings,&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/new-details-emerge-about-stephen-colbert-staffers-who-were-arrested-for-unlawful-entry-into-u-s-house-building">The Daily Wire</a> reported. The staffers were found near the offices of Rep. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lauren-boebert">Lauren Boebert</a> (R-CO) and House Minority Leader <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kevin-mccarthy">Kevin McCarthy</a> (R-CA).</p>
<p><span id="subtitle533" class="subtitle" data-id="533" data-start="1109696" data-end="1113733">&#8220;We learned that last night</span> producers for Stephen Colbert’s show on CBS committed insurrection at the United States Capitol<span id="subtitle537" class="subtitle" data-id="537" data-start="1117337" data-end="1119873">,&#8221; Carlson started off the segment. &#8220;The point of them being there was to harass sitting members of Congress &#8212; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/marjorie-taylor-greene">Marjorie Taylor Greene</a>, Lauren Boebert.&#8221;</span></p>
<p>The Fox News host said the Colbert staffers were &#8220;charged with unlawful entry into the Capitol complex &#8212; now that&#8217;s the exact same charge that many January 6 defendants face.&#8221;</p>
<p><span id="subtitle537" class="subtitle" data-id="537" data-start="1117337" data-end="1119873">&#8220;We&#8217;ll just get right to it: It’s likely that some members of Stephen Colbert’s team will be held in solitary confinement for a year and a half without being charged,&#8221; he asserted. &#8220;</span><span id="subtitle537" class="subtitle" data-id="537" data-start="1117337" data-end="1119873">Why? Because this is an insurrection.”</span></p>
<p>&#8220;Joking aside,&#8221; Carlson continued, &#8220;how could they not be held for a year and half <span id="subtitle537" class="subtitle" data-id="537" data-start="1117337" data-end="1119873">in solitary confinement without being charged? </span>Because the precedent is in place. And how in the world can <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/adam-schiff">Adam Schiff</a>, again, who spent the last year and a half eliminating the civil liberties of Trump voters on the basis of January 6, do the exact same thing and not face punishment?”</p>
<p>Republicans have <a href="https://nypost.com/2022/06/18/republicans-accuse-adam-schiff-of-allowing-colbert-staff-into-capitol/">accused</a> Schiff of letting in the Colbert staffers.</p>
<p>WUSA9 <a href="https://www.wusa9.com/article/news/verify/why-capitol-riot-defendants-being-held-without-bond-before-trial-january-6-congress/65-1e4d4dd6-eded-4187-85f1-d4dfcc3a9519">confirmed</a> last year that certain January 6 defendants are being held in jail without bond before their trials.</p>
<p>Citing a &#8220;landmark decision,&#8221; Neama Rahmani, a former federal prosecutor, said that suspects accused of assaulting police officers, or &#8220;did, you know, break windows, force open doors, and those types of things,&#8221; have been jailed without bond before their trials, which reportedly may be &#8220;years&#8221; away from the defendants&#8217; arrest.</p>
<p>A man named <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/different-from-any-other-jail-in-america-a-january-6-prisoner-speaks-out">Jacob Lang</a>, a January 6 defendant who spoke with The Daily Wire earlier this year, said he spent 200 days in solitary confinement &#8212; which included 23 hours a day alone in a cell &#8212; and has been in jail since 10 days after the Capitol riot in 2020.</p>
<p>Lang is accused of numerous assaults on police, but contends he was saving lives from police brutality, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/different-from-any-other-jail-in-america-a-january-6-prisoner-speaks-out">The Daily Wire</a> reported. The man said he tried to pull the body of Rosanne Boyland, who died the day of the breach, out of a Capitol tunnel after “police beat her on the ground and pushed a massive swarm of people on top of her.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;While the defendants went into jail looking like normal people, many now look significantly stranger: The D.C. jail denies barbering services, including shaves, to unvaccinated inmates,&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/different-from-any-other-jail-in-america-a-january-6-prisoner-speaks-out">The Daily Wire</a> report outlined, describing a &#8220;pod&#8221; of January 6 defendants. &#8220;That has meant many of the January 6 suspects haven’t shaved in months, which they argue leads to them attending court appearances looking like the Unabomber, causing potential prejudice in their cases.&#8221;</p>
