Never before seen footage showing a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/planned-parenthood">Planned Parenthood</a> employee appearing to discuss the sale of aborted babies’ body parts was released Tuesday, years after now-Vice President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kamala-harris">Kamala Harris</a> seized the footage as Attorney General of California.
The five-minute video shows a conversation between a person identified as Dr. Stacy De-Lin, Planned Parenthood New York City Medical Director for Abortion Services, and an undercover reporter with the Center for Medical Progress (CMP). During their conversation, De-Lin seems to acknowledge that Planned Parenthood would sell the livers of aborted babies.
In one clip, De-Lin is told by a CMP investigator that she “could pay you $1,000, up to $1,500 for a liver.”
“Yeah, that’s great,” De-Lin responds. “I think a financial incentive from you guys like, to the people we have to get this approved from, will be very happy about it,” <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1kDkgS1vpg">according</a> to the video shared by CMP.

Harris’ office confiscated footage in a 2016 raid on CMP President David Daleiden’s California home, two weeks after meeting with Planned Parenthood officials and after the organization had specifically requested the computers used for the undercover videos to be seized.

The full videos show why they did, Daleiden says.
“You can see just from the first video why Planned Parenthood tried so hard to cover this up for eight years,” Daleiden told The Daily Wire on Wednesday. “They spent years and millions of taxpayer dollars trying to make sure that the admissions on these undercover tapes never see the light of day.”
A federal judge in 2016 blocked CMP from sharing the full confiscated video for eight years. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) obtained the video through a subpoena earlier this year. Her office began <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/pull-off-a-leg-or-two-footage-shows-reported-planned-parenthood-employee-discussing-brutal-abortion-practices">publishing</a> clips of the videos earlier this year, and <a href="https://greene.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=801">released</a> the full footage on Tuesday.
In the video, De-Lin appears to admit that Planned Parenthood New York City engaged in illegal abortions, saying that they will do “fully intact” dilation and evacuation abortions, which fall in the category of partial-birth abortions.
“We certainly do intact D&amp;Es,” De-Lin says, after the undercover investigator said she would pay more for intact unborn babies.
According to Daleiden, the full video is “too incriminating to explain away.”
“There’s really no way that they can spin this stuff anymore. There’s no way that they can explain away admissions that are this stark and this obvious from their own top level leadership,” Daleiden said.
“And that’s why they went, eight years ago, to such incredible lengths to ask Kamala Harris when she was Attorney General of California to use the powers of her office to raid my home, try to seize all the original copies of the undercover footage, and prevent it from continuing to be published,&#8221; Daleiden continued. 
De-Lin, who now works at Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, did not respond to a phone call or email asking for comment on the videos. Planned Parenthood also did not return a request for comment.
Daleiden said that he expects lawmakers to release more previously blocked CMP videos in the coming weeks.
Harris has made abortion a key part of her 2024 campaign, attacking former President Donald Trump over the overturning of Roe v. Wade. 
She has long been backed by Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion groups, <a href="https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/46103/kamala-harris-and-her-pro-abortion-donor-base">raking</a> in tens of thousands of dollars in donations from the pro-abortion lobby throughout her career.
In 2020, Planned Parenthood Action released an ad campaign calling Harris “OUR Reproductive Health Champion.” That year, Planned Parenthood Votes published an article entitled &#8220;Nine Reasons to Love Kamala Harris.&#8221;

After much discussion, the cohosts of ABC&#8217;s &#8220;The View&#8221; have determined that the origin of the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/covid" target="_blank" rel="noopener">COVID-19</a> pandemic &#8220;wasn&#8217;t in this country&#8221; — and Joy Behar even said that she&#8217;d heard somewhere that it might have come from a lab.
In a segment from Tuesday&#8217;s live broadcast — years after most Americans had determined that COVID had most likely leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China — the show&#8217;s cohosts embraced the pandemic&#8217;s foreign origins in an attempt to attack Republicans for continuing to question the roles played by American officials like Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Joy Behar began by complaining about Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who had objected to referring to Fauci as &#8220;doctor&#8221; during a Monday hearing, saying that she was disrespectful and not very smart.

Sunny Hostin went on to criticize Republicans in Congress for investigating American officials, saying that it didn&#8217;t make sense to scrutinize their roles if the pandemic had originated outside the United States.
&#8220;Fifteen months of an investigation — we have real problems in this country,&#8221; Hostin began. &#8220;Fifteen months of an investigation, spending real taxpayer dollars, it really really just gets to me. And I think that people like Marjorie Taylor Greene and other people really need to start doing the work of the people, as opposed to trying to send these messages.&#8221;

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Friday when he criticized a congressional hearing during which she recently made news after she got into a verbal spat with other female lawmakers.
Fetterman commented on the childish drama that unfolded yesterday on the House Oversight Committee when Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) got in a verbal altercation after Crockett insulted Greene&#8217;s intelligence and Greene responded by insulting her appearance.
The incident quickly escalated from there, with other members getting involved, including AOC.
&#8220;In the past, I’ve described the U.S. House as The Jerry Springer Show,&#8221; Fetterman posted on X. &#8220;Today, I’m apologizing to The Jerry Springer Show.&#8221;

Fetterman Triggers AOC With Criticism Over ‘Jerry Springer’-Esque Congressional Hearing

Early in the 20th century, there was a famous columnist known as H.L. Mencken. Two of his quotes are currently quite applicable.
Number <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/51436-democracy-is-the-theory-that-the-common-people-know-what" target="_blank" rel="noopener">one</a>: “Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want and deserve to get it good and hard.”
Number <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/37546-no-one-in-this-world-so-far-as-i-know-and" target="_blank" rel="noopener">two</a>: “No one in this world, so far as I know — and I have searched the records for years, and employed agents to help me — has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people. Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby.” 
I point this out because we live in a representative democracy, so when we see spectacles like what we saw in the House of Representatives yesterday, it’s important to remember that these are all elected representatives of the United States.
We have filled Washington, D.C., with complete imbeciles. This is our fault because we vote for them. The fact is that if you don&#8217;t like your representatives, you can always change your them, but it seems as though the American people increasingly like a Congress that is completely unworkable; a presidency filled with numskulls like the current president of the United States; and entire representative agencies of the federal government that are filled with people whose IQs, when combined, might be in double digits.
If you think I&#8217;m being harsh, I present to you the spectacle yesterday, which is not, in fact, from Jerry Springer.
It is from Congress.

Yesterday, a giant fight broke out between Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the noted intellectual congresswoman from Georgia, known colloquially as MTG, on one side, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the noted intellectual congresswoman from New York, known colloquially as AOC, and Rep. Jasmine Crockett from Texas on the other side.
You can tell this is similar to a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) face-off when the congresspeople are known by their acronyms.
The wattage displayed by these three ladies put feminism back about 100 years, as shown by the fact that two of the men who are leading this committee, James Comer on the Republican side, and Jamie Raskin on the Democratic side, could not help but laugh at the idiocy displayed by this coterie of crows.
It began when Marjorie Taylor Greene insulted Jasmine Crockett’s fake eyelashes and went downhill from there. AOC snapped, “I would like to move to take down Miss Green&#8217;s words. That is absolutely unacceptable. How dare you attack the physical appearance of another person.”
Greene: “Are your feelings hurt? Aww.”
AOC: “Oh, girl, baby girl, baby girl. Don&#8217;t even play. Don&#8217;t even play. We are going to move and we&#8217;re going to take your words down.”
After MTG said she would agree to take her words down, AOC demanded an apology. MTG refused. Crockett later said to Comer, “I&#8217;m just curious, just to better understand your ruling. If someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleached-blond, bad-built, butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?”
Comer, genuinely puzzled: “What now?”
A shouting match then ensued.
The question about all this is why? Why? These are outtakes from “Idiocracy” at this point.
The answer is because Congress and our representative government have become a performative spectacle for people who are hoping to get famous and rich outside of Congress. That&#8217;s what this is. Yuval Levin of the American Enterprise Institute wrote one of the most important books of the last 20 years about this — about how our representative institutions ar supposed to shape the people who enter them because they are given the grave responsibility of representing the American people, taking care of trillions of our taxpayer dollars, figuring out our foreign policy, and trying to rectify breaches in the social fabric and the social compact. That is their actual job. 
But over time, as we have become a more populous and populist country, our representatives have become stand-ins for our various gripes and grievances.
And so you end up with the dumbed-down version of the American public. I don&#8217;t think that this is a partisan issue. I know hundreds of members of Congress and the Senate, both Democrat and Republican, and I can name the number of intelligent people that I know in Congress on less than two hands. 
The American people have chosen poorly. It used to be when government did not have insane levels of power over our life, we didn&#8217;t actually care who was in charge of the government nearly as much because the government didn&#8217;t have the power to control every aspect of our life. Thus, politics was largely relegated to the local level. And when it came to federal politics, people who were very invested in federal politics tended to be the people who were the most knowledgeable, the people who actually cared the most, the people who were the most engaged. 
But now, it&#8217;s become a popularity contest. It&#8217;s “American Idol,” and thanks to the mass media, you can take dullards and make them incredibly famous. If you want to sell papers, that&#8217;s exactly what you do. If you want higher ratings, you focus on the dullards in Congress, not the congressperson who is spending late nights poring over the bills that are being created to shape our lives; that&#8217;s the boring stuff. 
The people like this. And this is why all three of these congresspeople are significantly more famous than some actual powerful congresspeople who make policy. People now use Congress as a platform for other activities to become famous — to be on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, to be on various shows on TV. 
That&#8217;s not good for America. Americans ought to get off of this.
But the reality, of course, is that this has pervaded American politics, and it has bled up. The quality of our public leadership is a reflection of the quality of our public conversations. And our public conversations are terrible because they are low IQ and do not involve any sort of actual knowledge base for the people involved. In fact, a quick insult is considered significantly more useful than an actual understanding of the issues at play and the nuances of those issues. The latter things are not important.
This is one of the reasons why you are seeing re-engagement online with three-hour long conversations with various hosts. There is a hunger in a certain segment of the population for something a little more substantive that has completely gone away for the vast majority of the American public.
The American people are casually engaged. They tune in for the last five minutes of “American Idol” before they cast their vote.
And what you end up with is a bunch of people who are getting rich and famous being in Congress and being complete imbeciles.
This is why you end up with a presidential race featuring an incumbent president who is full-on senile, and it doesn&#8217;t matter one whit to at least half the population. 
I think most people look at yesterday’s debacle in Congress and they&#8217;re ashamed of what they see.
We should all be ashamed of what we see in Congress because the level of intellectual achievement in our Congress, the level of true engagement with serious issues, is so unbelievably low that you would get a better conversation about what goes on in our nation in a third-grade social studies classroom than you would in a congressional committee such as yesterday’s.

Yesterday the House Oversight Committee gathered for a very important hearing. <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mediaite</a> reports on the purpose of the hearing:
<blockquote>The committee met to discuss a resolution to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a congressional subpoena. That subpoena demanded he turn over the recorded deposition of President Joe Biden as questioned by former Special Counsel Robert Hur. Hur investigated Biden’s retention of classified documents from his time as a senator and vice president. Ultimately, the special counsel <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/biden/elderly-man-with-a-poor-memory-devastating-doj-report-says-biden-did-not-remember-when-he-was-vice-president-and-when-his-son-died/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">declined</a> to prosecute Biden, stating that a jury would likely view him “as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.</blockquote>
As you probably recall, Joe Biden was judged by the special counsel to be mentally unfit to stand trial for his mishandling of classified documents. The poor old man was just confused, Robert Hur determined. There may be some merit to this excuse, if not for the fact that Joe Biden is also, you may have noticed, the President of the United States. If he is not mentally competent enough to stand trial, how is he mentally competent to sit in the Oval Office?
That’s a very good question. Another question is this: just how embarrassing and troubling was Joe Biden’s performance in that deposition that it led to this conclusion? And as a way of getting to the bottom of that, congress has attempted to obtain the audio recording of Biden’s deposition. But the Biden Administration is refusing to comply with the subpoena on the grounds that they don’t want Biden to look bad. That’s not the reason they’re giving but it is the actual reason, as we all know. And this is why the House Oversight Committee was meeting last night. It’s a very important subject. One that requires a seriousness of mind and purpose.

Unfortunately, however, in the current year, Congress happens to include some of the dumbest human beings who have ever been born on planet Earth. Voters in this country have scoured the nation, from sea to shining sea, looking for the most obnoxious dimwits they can find, and then they have elected those people, and put them into positions of power. Of course, we have been electing clowns to Congress for many years but we have now reached critical clown mass. As philosophers and scientists have long warned, when you reach critical clown mass, total dysfunction follows. And that’s what we saw at this hearing on Thursday night. 
It all began with Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, who made a little dig at Democrat Representative Jasmine Crockett.

That was the spark — Marjorie Taylor Greene makes fun of Crockett’s fake eyelashes. 
Now, you know I am not exactly a sensitive soul when it comes to this kind of thing, or any kind of thing. I have been known to throw out insults myself on very rare occasion. And it’s true that Crockett does seem to have fake eyelashes. But come on. Is a congressional hearing really a place for catty little insults like this? How does a comment about another representative’s eyelashes help us obtain the recordings of Joe Biden’s deposition, which is supposed to be the purpose of the hearing? It does not help us. Instead, it takes things wildly off course. And that’s exactly what happened. Watch:

It might be hard to discern anything that is being said over noises that sound like feral cats fighting in a back alley. So please allow me to provide a brief but fully accurate and verbatim transcript of Jasmine Crockett’s remarks. She said, and I quote: 
“Ya’ll wanna play games with me. Don’t tell me to calm down. Y’all talk noise and then you can’t take it. Cuz if I come and talk s*** about her, ya’ll gon’ have a problem.”
That is an actual statement made by an elected member of the United States Congress during a House Oversight Committee hearing. I think we can safely say that it is the first time in American history that any member of Congress, operating in an official capacity, has ever used the phrase “Ya’ll talk noise.” It’s also, I’m guessing, the first time that the phrase “talk s***” and “ya’ll wanna play games” have ever been uttered during a congressional hearing. We are making history here, in all of the wrong ways. 
And that was not the only history making moment. Listen to this exchange, in the same hearing, between Marjorie Taylor Greene and AOC:

There is another statement that, we can assume with some measure of certainty, has never been stated on the record at any congressional hearing. It is another historic first. We are witnessing history in the making.
If you read just the transcript of these exchanges without any context, you would assume this was, perhaps, an argument between groups of people at a Waffle House. Or maybe it’s a feud that broke out in the parking lot of a Bojangles fast food restaurant at 2:00 a.m. If you just arrived here in a time machine from 30 years ago, or any time prior, you simply would not believe that this was an exchange between members of Congress. If you were informed of that fact, you would immediately get back in your time machine and go back to your own time to warn the world of the impending collapse of our collective IQ. If for some reason you couldn’t go back in your time machine, you would probably elect to throw yourself into the sea, rather than stay here and live through this. 
We should note that the Democrats are not the only ones humiliating themselves in this exchange. Marjorie Taylor Greene is no better. Or if she is better, only slightly so. 
And this dispute between Greene and AOC continued, as AOC demanded an apology for the random insults Greene kept throwing onto the pile:

“Why don’t you debate me?” I very much hope she doesn’t. I think we’ve already seen what a “debate” between AOC and Marjorie Taylor Greene would consist of. Here’s what the debate would be: 
“You’re stupid!”
“No I’m not. You are!”
“And you’re ugly!
“No you are!”
“No, you!”
And so on, for seven and a half hours. This cat fight felt like it went on that long during the hearing, as the men sat there bewildered and stuttering, trying meekly and ineffectually to get the hearing back on track. It was a microcosm of American culture in many ways — and all the worst ways.
By contrast, back in the year 1858, there were a series of presidential debates between Abraham Lincoln and Senator Stephen A. Douglas. These were highly contentious and emotionally-charged, and often involved bitter personal attacks. After all, this was only three years before the country would erupt into a brutal civil war that would kill 700,000 people on both sides. And yet these men expressed their disdain for one another in eloquent and intelligent ways. So eloquent and intelligent that we can’t even imagine politicians in the modern age speaking this way.
Here is just one very brief example, pulled at random. In the first debate, Douglas spoke first. Lincoln, when it was his turn, felt that Douglas had lied about him and misrepresented his record. Here was his way of accusing Douglas of dishonesty. One sentence will be enough to make the contrast clear. He said:
<blockquote>My fellow citizens, when a man hears himself somewhat misrepresented, it provokes him-at least, I find it so with myself; but when misrepresentation becomes very gross and palpable, it is more apt to amuse him.</blockquote>
Now compare that to how that same sentiment would be expressed by politicians today. Instead, it would be something like this:
<blockquote>Oh baby girl, don’t play with me. You best stop talkin’ that noise, wit your lyin’ a**.</blockquote>
The intelligence of our leaders hasn’t just declined, it has plummeted like a meteor out of the sky and formed a crater in the ground that goes five miles deep into the Earth. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We know that, because it never was this way until now. There was a time when our nation was led by men — and it used to be mostly men, let’s face it — who were articulate, intelligent, dignified, composed, and most importantly, boring. I’m not saying that they were always good at their jobs or always made wise decisions. That certainly wasn’t the case. But I’m simply trying to emphasize the fact that it is highly unusual, from the perspective of history, to have a congress with an average IQ of 85. Then again, when the average IQ of the country collapses, we would expect the country’s representatives to follow suit.
My only hope is that voters get tired of this. We don’t need to be entertained by politicians. They are not there to amuse us. They are not there to go viral. These are not social media influencers. We should have serious people leading us.
We need more than seriousness from them. We should also want them to be competent, and have integrity, and always put America and its people first. We have almost no one who checks any of those boxes, let alone all of them. But before any of that, they need to be serious people who take the job seriously. Yet we can only get serious kinds of leaders if we have serious voters who take the job of voting seriously. Because ultimately you get the leaders you deserve. And as sad as it is to say, this is what we deserve.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) got into a heated spat with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) during a Thursday committee hearing, referring to the Georgia congresswoman condescendingly as &#8220;baby girl&#8221; and demanding she &#8220;strike&#8221; her words.
The tiff began as the House Oversight Committee met to discuss holding Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress for refusing to turn over audio of President Joe Biden&#8217;s interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur in his classified documents probe — a subpoena the White House blocked by citing &#8220;executive privilege.&#8221;
Greene sparked the ire of Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) when she asked whether any Democrats had employed the daughter of Judge Juan Merchan — who is currently presiding over former President Donald Trump&#8217;s Manhattan hush money trial — a political consultant whose firm has worked for Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY).
&#8220;I’d like to know if any of the Democrats on this committee are employing Judge Merchan’s daughter,&#8221; Greene began.
&#8220;Please tell me what that has to do with Merrick Garland,&#8221; Crockett objected.
&#8220;Oh, Goldman. That’s right. He’s advising. Ok,&#8221; Greene continued.
&#8220;Do you know what we’re here for? Do you know we’re here —&#8221; Crockett tried again.
After a little bit of back and forth, Greene took a shot at Crockett: &#8220;I think your fake eyelashes are messing up your –&#8221;
&#8220;Hold on! Hold on! Order,&#8221; Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) cut in. &#8220;We have a point of order. Mr. Lynch, state your point.&#8221;
&#8220;Mr. Chairman, I would just like to ask the parliamentarian if your conduct here in raising money in connection with this hearing is referable to the Ethics Committee within this hearing. There’s a motion in order to refer your conduct and your abuse –&#8221; Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA) said, prompting an immediate rebuttal from Comer.
&#8220;That’s not a point of order,&#8221; he said.
&#8220;I do have a point of order. And I would like to move to take down Ms. Greene’s words,&#8221; Ocasio-Cortez said then. &#8220;That is absolutely unacceptable! How dare you attack the physical appearance of another person!&#8221;
&#8220;Are your feelings hurt?&#8221; Greene asked.
&#8220;Move her words down!&#8221; Ocasio-Cortez shouted.
&#8220;Aww,&#8221; Greene mocked.
&#8220;Oh! Girl, baby, girl!&#8221; Ocasio-Cortez said in condescending tones.

Greene then agreed to &#8220;strike her words&#8221; but said that she had no intention of offering the apology Ocasio-Cortez demanded.
Greene then suggested that Ocasio-Cortez debate her — an offer the New York congresswoman rejected out of hand. Comer caller for order again, clarifying for the record that Greene would agree to strike her words — although she repeated her prior statement that she would not apologize.

On Wednesday, the GOP-led <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/u-s-house-of-representatives" target="_blank" rel="noopener">House</a> quickly defeated a bid by Rep. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/marjorie-taylor-greene" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Marjorie Taylor Greene</a> (R-GA) to remove Speaker <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/mike-johnson" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mike Johnson</a> (R-LA) from his top perch.
Within an hour of Greene declaring that she was going through with her motion to vacate the chair — an announcement met by a <a href="https://twitter.com/CitizenFreePres/status/1788322758058770553" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wave of boos</a> in the chamber — members overwhelmingly voted to table the measure by a <a href="https://clerk.house.gov/Votes/2024188" target="_blank" rel="noopener">359-43 tally</a>.
The measure was introduced in a privileged fashion, meaning leadership had two legislative days to act on it, similar to what Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) did last year to queue up a vote that led to Kevin McCarthy&#8217;s ouster as speaker.
Unlike what happened with McCarthy, who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mccarthy-ousted-from-speakership-after-democrats-side-with-matt-gaetz" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lacked support</a> from across the aisle when he was forced out of the role, Johnson <a href="https://apnews.com/article/speaker-mike-johnson-marjorie-taylor-greene-motion-to-vacate-552169f3e831ab8fb3baacfdf76c2d82" target="_blank" rel="noopener">had the backing of Democrats</a> who said they would vote to table a motion to vacate the chair brought by Greene.
He also got a boost from former President Donald Trump, now the likely GOP nominee in the 2024 election, who stood with Johnson at Mar-a-Lago in April and <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/12/politics/mike-johnson-trump-mar-a-lago/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> the speaker was &#8220;doing a very good job.&#8221;
When the vote finally did take place, 196 Republicans and 163 Democrats <a href="https://twitter.com/JakeSherman/status/1788325269003960783" target="_blank" rel="noopener">voted</a> to table the motion from Greene. <a href="https://twitter.com/ChadPergram/status/1788334658830082475" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Eleven Republicans</a> and 32 Democrats opposed it. Ten Republicans and 11 Democrats did not vote.

“I want to say that I appreciate the show of confidence for my colleagues to defeat this misguided effort. That is certainly what it was,&#8221; Johnson <a href="https://www.c-span.org/video/?535527-1/speaker-johnson-motion-vacate-failure&amp;live" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told reporters</a> after the vote.
Greene had been talking about using the motion to vacate against Johnson ever since <a href="https://apnews.com/article/speaker-johnson-motion-vacate-marjorie-taylor-greene-3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">late March</a> when the House <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/senate-passes-massive-spending-bill-in-middle-of-the-night" target="_blank" rel="noopener">passed</a> a $1.2 trillion spending package.
At least two other Republicans, Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Paul Gosar (R-AZ), <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/19/politics/paul-gosar-mike-johnson-house-gop/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">supported</a> Greene last month as she refused to relent on her campaign against Johnson.
Johnson and Greene met over the past <a href="https://apnews.com/article/marjorie-taylor-greene-speaker-johnson-trump-7bbe71b7fc2aef26de3036a354af0d13" target="_blank" rel="noopener">couple days</a> during which Greene made a series of what she said were &#8220;suggestions,&#8221; <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-privately-urges-greene-drop-push-oust-speaker/story?id=109990543&amp;cid=social_twitter_abcnp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">including</a> defunding special counsel Jack Smith&#8217;s inquiries into Trump and no more financial aid for Ukraine.
Recent polling from Monmouth University <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/house/4618204-just-1-in-5-want-johnson-replaced-as-speaker-survey/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">showed</a> just one in five Americans wanted Johnson to be replaced as speaker.
Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/112407712153390935" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a> to Truth Social on Wednesday, around the time of the vote on tabling Greene&#8217;s motion, complimenting Johnson, as well as Greene. He also called attention to the slim majority the GOP has in the House while pushing for unity.

Fox News host Maria Bartiromo challenged Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) over the weekend about what her plan is if she manages to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).
The confrontation happened during a Sunday interview when Bartiromo asked Greene what her alternative plan is if she&#8217;s successful.
&#8220;OK, Congresswoman, you wanted Mike Johnson out,&#8221; Bartiromo said. &#8220;What is your alternative plan?&#8221;
&#8220;Our plan is this, is, we have to give the American people a reason to trust us and fight for us,&#8221; Greene responded. &#8220;The American people are supporting President Trump to be the next president of the United States because they saw him — they have seen him in action. He fought against the Democrat agenda. He put America first. They desperately want him to lead this country again because they trust him and they know he will do that.&#8221;
&#8220;Mike Johnson has betrayed America,&#8221; she claimed. &#8220;He&#8217;s betrayed Republican voters. Under his leadership, he&#8217;s passed the Democrat agenda, passed the Biden administration&#8217;s policies and fully funded them. We&#8217;re going to fight in Congress to do everything we can to stop this type of uniparty leadership. Mike Johnson&#8217;s speakership is over. He needs to do the right thing to resign and allow us to move forward in a controlled process. If he doesn&#8217;t do so, he will be vacated.&#8221;
Bartiromo responded by noting that Greene did not answer the question.
&#8220;Well, with all due respect, you didn&#8217;t give me a plan for the speaker&#8217;s role,&#8221; Bartiromo said. &#8220;And, again, does this mean you are going to file that motion at some point?&#8221;
Greene responded, &#8220;It&#8217;s coming regardless of what Mike Johnson decides to do. And we have three more Republicans joining us for special elections coming up very soon. So people need to know this can happen.&#8221;

Kemp directed his remarks at Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), who posted on X that he was supporting Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene&#8217;s (R-GA) motion to vacate the speakership.
&#8220;I just told Mike Johnson in conference that I’m cosponsoring the Motion to Vacate that was introduced by @RepMTG,&#8221; Massie posted. &#8220;He should pre-announce his resignation (as Boehner did), so we can pick a new Speaker without ever being without a GOP Speaker.&#8221;

Johnson <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmcBNTCF1ZQ" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Fox News host Trey Gowdy that lawmakers have been &#8220;working to build a consensus&#8221; to address national security issues that he said begins with U.S. border security.
&#8220;We&#8217;ve been talking to all the members, especially now in the district work period. When we return after this work period, we&#8217;ll be moving a product,&#8221; Johnson said, suggesting there could be action as early as next week.
&#8220;It&#8217;s going to — I think — have some important innovations: <a href="https://www.foreign.senate.gov/press/rep/release/risch-whitehouse-applaud-committee-passage-of-repo-act" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The REPO Act</a>. If we can use the seized assets of Russian oligarchs to allow the Ukrainians to fight them, that&#8217;s just pure poetry,&#8221; he said.
Johnson also mentioned a &#8220;loan concept&#8221; that has been <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/lindsey-graham-meets-zelensky-says-he-floated-trumps-loan-idea-for-ukraine-aid" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> by former President Donald Trump as a way to continue aid to Ukraine.
&#8220;We&#8217;re not just giving foreign aid, we&#8217;re setting it up in a relationship where they can provide it back to us when the time is right,&#8221; Johnson said.
The speaker said lawmakers want to &#8220;release&#8221; American energy and have natural gas exports that will &#8220;help unfund&#8221; Russian President Vladimir Putin&#8217;s war effort in Ukraine.
&#8220;There&#8217;s a lot of things that we should do that make more sense and that I think we&#8217;ll have consensus around. We&#8217;re putting that product together and we&#8217;ll be moving it right after the district work period,&#8221; Johnson added.
In February, the Democrat-led Senate <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/senate-passes-95-billion-foreign-aid-bill-despite-opposition-from-over-half-of-republican-senators" target="_blank" rel="noopener">passed</a> a $95 billion foreign aid bill that would allocate money for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, responding to President Joe Biden&#8217;s national security supplemental request.
While the House has refused to consider the legislation, with Johnson insisting border security reforms must be part of the equation, some GOP members have <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/republican-says-hes-confident-house-will-vote-on-ukraine-aid-after-easter-recess" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pushed for alternatives</a>.

A federal judge on Friday greenlit legal action from GOP Reps. Matt Gaetz of Florida and Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia against two California cities over rallies canceled in each in 2021.
Gaetz and Greene sued the cities of Anaheim and Riverside last year after multiple venues repeatedly canceled reservations by the lawmakers to hold America First rallies. The Republican lawmakers allege that the city officials pressured the venues to cancel in response to leftist backlash and that the cancellations violate free speech protections.
“Plaintiffs adequately allege that the Municipal Defendants delegated to their respective agents the authority to cancel the rally (and/or ratified the relevant conduct after the fact) and that the event cancellations were expressly predicated on viewpoint discrimination,” U.S. District Judge Hernan Vera, a Biden appointee, wrote in a 22-page <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.cacd.891532/gov.uscourts.cacd.891532.95.0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">opinion</a>.
Vera’s ruling is a procedural win for Gaetz and Greene, though not a total one. The lawmakers included in their complaint accusations against leftist groups, such as the NAACP, that Gaetz and Greene said illegally conspired with Anaheim and Riverside officials to stop the rallies. The judge rebuked the lawmakers for a “complete lack of any alleged facts to support a ‘meeting of the minds’ as required for a conspiracy claim.”
“Here, the Complaint — even charitably construed with all reasonable inferences drawn in Plaintiffs’ favor — is utterly devoid of any specifics plausibly alleging such an agreement,” Vera wrote.

“The gravamen of Plaintiffs’ claims against the Nonprofit Defendants is, both legally and literally, a conspiracy theory that relies purely on conjecture,” the judge continued. “And without an unlawful conspiracy, all that is left to aver against the Nonprofit Defendants are the unremarkable allegations that they exercised their own First Amendment rights to lobby for the cancellation of the event. That is protected.”
In 2021, Gaetz and Greene were involved in booking three different venues across Orange and Riverside counties. Each venue <a href="https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2023-07-14/reps-matt-gaetz-and-marjorie-taylor-greene-file-lawsuit-alleging-free-speech-violations" target="_blank" rel="noopener">canceled</a> in succession as activists’ complaints inundated the venues in opposition to the rallies. After the last venue canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled event, Gaetz and Greene elected to hold a “peaceful protest against communism” outside Riverside City Hall.
Gaetz and Greene are represented by a legal team that includes John Eastman, a controversial lawyer who advised President Donald Trump near the end of his term. Eastman was indicted along with Trump in the Georgia election case for allegedly trying to overturn the results of the 2020 race in the state.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA) blames the current House GOP dysfunction on Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida.
Gingrich appeared on Fox News on Friday with host Laura Ingraham to bemoan the chaos that has fractured the House Republican caucus and which threatens to oust the second Republican speaker since October. He said trouble within the caucus has contributed to a series of early departures within the GOP that has made its slight majority even smaller.
“We shouldn’t underestimate how bad what Matt Gaetz did was for the whole system. He unleashed the demons. He went after somebody who had raised $480 million, had gained seats for three elections in a row. He drove Kevin McCarthy out of office,” Gingrich said, according to <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/tv/newt-gingrich-blames-matt-gaetz-after-mtgs-motion-to-vacate-johnson-he-unleashed-the-demons/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mediaite</a>. “From that point on, it has been a disaster.”
Gaetz led a revolt of a small group of Republican House members against former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy in October, ousting the Republican leader from the speaker’s chair. The rebellion threw the House GOP into chaos for a short time, after which Rep. Mike Johnson of Louisiana was voted to take up the speaker’s gavel. At the time, Gaetz accused McCarthy of cutting secret deals with Democrats and undermining House conservatives.
“I don’t blame [House Speaker Mike Johnson.] I think Speaker Johnson has a hand that’s virtually impossible to play. And that’s where I think some of the people just make it worse,” Gingrich said.
Gingrich went on to say that the disarray among House Republicans emphasizes the need to elect former President Donald Trump back to the White House in November and give Trump and Republicans a large majority to govern in Congress.
“When I was speaker, I had a lot more ability than Johnson did to run the house, because I had a big enough majority, you could have five or 10 people who were crazy and you can still govern,” Gingrich said. “[Johnson] doesn’t have a one-vote majority. The fact is there are eight or 10 or 12 people who are going to get up every morning voting no. … So, he really has no majority at all.”
“You have to decide. Sooner or later you’re going to realize the bills have been worse since McCarthy was gone. The Democrats are in greater control. The hard-liners on the right have done nothing except make it worse. The Freedom Caucus right now has been a disaster in public policy terms. If you think your job in life is to grandstand and complain while the other team runs over you, they’re doing a great job,” the former speaker added.

Johnson is now facing threats of removal from within the House GOP caucus after he pushed through the House a $1.2 trillion omnibus spending package last week over dissent from House conservatives. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) on Friday <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/marjorie-taylor-greene-files-motion-to-oust-mike-johnson-as-house-speaker" target="_blank" rel="noopener">filed</a> a motion to remove the speaker’s gavel from Johnson over his handling of the legislation. Greene <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/news/marjorie-taylor-greene-files-warning-160647542.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> her resolution was “more of a warning than a pink slip.”
Gaetz defended Johnson last week as House conservatives voiced discontent with the speaker.
“If we vacated this speaker, we’d end up with a Democrat,” Gaetz <a href="https://apnews.com/article/speaker-johnson-motion-vacate-marjorie-taylor-greene-3461bd8b95e718e178132ac16f36562a" target="_blank" rel="noopener">warned</a>. “When I vacated the last one, I made a promise to the country that we would not end up with a Democrat speaker. &#8230; I couldn’t make that promise again today.”
