Numerous Democratic politicians and celebrities will join a &#8220;White Dudes for Harris&#8221; call on Monday evening to promote Vice President Kamala Harris&#8217;s presidential campaign.
More than 80,000 people have signed up, <a href="https://x.com/dudes4harris/status/1817977115528265920" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to the virtual event&#8217;s organizers, who said participants would &#8220;welcome Vice President Harris to the presidential race and pledge to help get her elected.&#8221; Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, who is being floated as a potential VP pick, and Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) are expected to <a href="https://x.com/harris_wins/status/1817960396327903534" target="_blank" rel="noopener">headline</a> the virtual event, which begins at 8:00 p.m. ET on Monday.
North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper — another VP contender — gun control activist David Hogg, &#8220;Star Wars&#8221; actor Mark Hamill, and singer Josh Groban are also expected to make appearances.

Team Trump blasted the &#8220;White Dudes for Harris&#8221; event as &#8220;more desperate pandering&#8221; from the Harris campaign.
“White Dudes for Harris is more desperate pandering from the same campaign that thinks cooking collard greens and making cringy, inauthentic calls into the BET awards is outreach to the Black community. Kamala Harris is the most unpopular Vice President in history because she’s inauthentic and dangerously liberal,&#8221; Team Trump Black Media Director Janiyah Thomas said in a statement to The Daily Wire. &#8220;On the contrary, President Trump’s engagement with diverse communities is completely authentic as he shows up in our neighborhoods, meets people where they’re at, and offers solutions to fix the problems created by the Biden-Harris Administration’s failed policies. That’s why President Trump continues to increase his support from Americans of all backgrounds across the country.”
Anyone can RSVP for the call by submitting their name and email, and the sign-up form does not ask any questions about race or sex. The organizers also urge people who RSVP to donate to the Harris Victory Fund and direct them to ActBlue, a fundraising platform used by Democrats.
The &#8220;White Dudes for Harris&#8221; call was organized by political activist Ben Wessel and <a href="https://x.com/MikeNellis/status/1817209765405032533" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mike Nellis</a>, a former advisor to Harris, according to the <a href="https://www.nysun.com/article/white-dudes-for-harris-zoom-call-draws-celebrity-attendees-and-tens-of-thousands-of-sign-ups" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York Sun</a>. Wessel previously <a href="https://www.climateone.org/people/ben-wessel" target="_blank" rel="noopener">worked</a> as the Director of NextGen Rising where he pushed for &#8220;progressive policies with a focus on mobilizing the voters who care most the issues: young people.&#8221; Wessel also worked on the campaigns of Sen. Cory Booker and former President Barack Obama. Wessel is currently the Director of State and Local Political Affairs for the <a href="https://www.emersoncollective.com/collective" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Emerson Collective</a>, an activist organization focused on the environment, education, immigration, and race and equity.
Nellis is the founder of Authentic, a digital marketing agency that has been used by the campaigns of<a href="https://authentic.org/case-studies/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> Democrats</a> such as Rep. Schiff, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs, the Senate Majority PAC, and President Joe Biden.
Harris supporters have also held calls targeting other specific groups based on race and sex. &#8220;Win With Black Women&#8221; said that it has raised more than $1.5 million in support of Harris since she became the presumptive Democratic nominee. A &#8220;Win With Black Men&#8221; call also reportedly raised $1.3 million for Harris&#8217; campaign, while a &#8220;White Women: Answer the Call&#8221; virtual event attracted nearly 200,000 people over Zoom and raised more than $11 million, CBS News <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/kamala-harris-grassroots-organizers-raise-millions-online-campaign-first-week/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Harris supporters have also held calls for Latinas and South Asian women to boost the vice president&#8217;s campaign.

Less than a full 24 hours after Biden announced he would not accept the party&#8217;s 2024 nomination — but stopped short of resigning the presidency — Guthrie asked Schiff the question that has been plaguing many Americans: If everyone is so concerned that Biden is not fit for another campaign and another term in office, why are they not equally concerned about his ability to remain in office until next January?

Schiff essentially admitted that even though Democratic primary voters had overwhelmingly selected Biden, he was ready and willing to throw in with the other high-profile Democrats and major donors to negate their votes out of fear that Biden would not be able to win against Trump in November.

Schiff&#8217;s statement comes as dozens of Democrats have called on Biden to end his campaign following his disastrous debate against Trump late last month that spurred weeks of highly negative news coverage for the party.
&#8220;President Biden has been one of the most consequential presidents in our nation’s history, and his lifetime of service as a Senator, a Vice President, and now as President has made our country better,&#8221; Schiff <a href="https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2024-07-17/schiff-calls-on-biden-to-drop-out-citing-serious-concerns-that-he-can-win" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> The Los Angeles Times. &#8220;But our nation is at a crossroads. A second Trump presidency will undermine the very foundation of our democracy, and I have serious concerns about whether the President can defeat Donald Trump in November.&#8221;
He acknowledged that while Biden was the one who had to make the decision, it was time for him “to pass the torch” and “secure his legacy of leadership” by allowing another Democrat the opportunity to beat Trump.
“I will do everything I can to help them succeed,” Schiff said. “There is only one singular goal: defeating Donald Trump. The stakes are just too high.”
Biden had trailed Trump for months in polling prior to the debate and that gap widened slightly after his performance.

Dr. Tom Pitts, a Democrat who is a quadruple board-certified neurologist based in New York City, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/could-have-diagnosed-him-from-across-the-mall-neurologist-tells-nbc-biden-has-parkinsons-degeneration-of-the-brain" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> NBC News last week that Biden has Parkinson&#8217;s and degeneration of the brain.
Pitts said that he sees patients like Biden up to 20 times a day at his practice and that the president&#8217;s stuttering problem has nothing to do with his cognitive issues.
“You notice when he turns it’s kind of end-block turning; it’s not a quick turn,” Pitts continued. “That’s one of the hallmarks of Parkinson’s; it’s rigidity and bradykinesia, slow movement, and he has that hallmark, especially with the low voice they said was a cold; hypophonia, small monotone voice like this over time is a hallmark of Parkinsonism. I could have diagnosed him from across the mall.”
“Shuffling gait, we call that ‘little steps,'&#8221; he noted. “Loss of arm swing from the rigidity; when we walk we have a nice cadence, he doesn’t really swing his arms, and end-block turning, meaning he kind of pivots around his foot. If you said, ‘Hey, President Biden,&#8217; he wouldn’t go like this,” he said, swiftly turning to look behind him.

Following the debate less than two weeks ago, a growing number of Democrats in Congress have begun to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrats-in-congress-to-amp-up-pressure-on-biden-to-step-aside-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">call for Biden to drop out</a> of the race to allow someone else to take on their party&#8217;s nomination.
Vice President Kamala Harris is <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/siladityaray/2024/07/03/bookmakers-put-their-money-on-kamala-harris-as-bidens-odds-tank-in-betting-markets/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">catching up</a> to Biden in the betting markets for the nomination. California Governor Gavin Newsom, another potential contender, is also <a href="https://www.predictit.org/markets/detail/7057/Who-will-win-the-2024-Democratic-presidential-nomination" target="_blank" rel="noopener">gaining momentum</a>.
Although Biden, 81, has so far indicated that he has no intention of stepping aside, polls have found that voters are <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/post-debate-poll-shows-72-of-voters-say-biden-not-fit-to-serve" target="_blank" rel="noopener">increasingly doubtful</a> that the president is fit to continue serving well into his 80s.
The interview Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/read-it-transcript-of-bidens-first-tv-interview-after-his-poor-debate-performance" target="_blank" rel="noopener">did with ABC News</a> on Friday &#8220;didn&#8217;t put concerns to rest,&#8221; said Schiff, who added that no single interview would accomplish such a feat.
Schiff said he would be &#8220;happy&#8221; if both the president — as well as Trump — took a cognitive test. But he also insisted Biden &#8220;alone&#8221; will be the decision maker as to whether it is time to step aside.
Biden should &#8220;seek out&#8221; the opinion of people he trusts — <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bidens-family-urges-him-to-stay-in-2024-race-after-fumbling-debate-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">beyond members of his family</a> — &#8220;with some distance and objectivity,&#8221; Schiff said. He suggested independent pollsters as an example.
Schiff cast the 2024 presidential election as an &#8220;existential race&#8221; in which Biden needs to &#8220;win overwhelmingly or he has to pass the torch to someone who can. It&#8217;s as simple as that.&#8221;
Schiff declared that whatever choice Biden makes could be &#8220;the most important&#8221; of his presidency, with possible down-ballot implications for the House and Senate as well as &#8220;the future of the country.&#8221;

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) deflected from concerns about President Joe Biden&#8217;s mental ability to continue serving as president by saying that if former President Donald Trump took a cognitive test that it would show he has some sort of &#8220;serious illness&#8221;
Schiff made the remarks during a Sunday interview on NBC News&#8217; &#8220;Meet The Press&#8221; with Kristen Welker when asked if Biden should remain at the top of the ticket following his disastrous debate performance a week and a half ago.
&#8220;Well, ultimately, this is a decision President Biden is going to have to make and President Biden alone,&#8221; he said. &#8220;But I would say this. He has been an extraordinary president. He has created millions and millions of jobs. He has expanded and strengthened our NATO alliances. He has brought back manufacturing in this country. He has brought about the most aggressive attack on climate change. He has done more in one term than most presidents ever do, no matter how many terms they get.&#8221;
&#8220;And he&#8217;s running against someone who&#8217;s a pathological liar, someone who ran the country into the ground by his mishandling of a deadly pandemic, someone who is a pathological – not only a pathological liar, but is immoral, indecent, and unfit for office,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;But the performance on the debate stage, I think, rightfully raised questions among the American people about whether the president has the vigor to defeat Donald Trump. And this is an existential race. Given Joe Biden&#8217;s incredible record, given Donald Trump&#8217;s terrible record, he should be mopping the floor with Donald Trump. Joe Biden&#8217;s running against a criminal. It should not be even close. And there&#8217;s only one reason it is close, and that&#8217;s the president&#8217;s age. And what I would say, Kristen, what I would advise the president, is seek out the opinions of people you trust. He&#8217;s obviously talked to his family about this. And that&#8217;s important. But he should seek out people with some distance and objectivity. He should seek out pollsters who are not his own pollsters. He should take a moment to make the best informed judgment. And if the judgment is run, then run hard and beat that S.O.B.&#8221;
When asked if Biden should take a cognitive test, Schiff said: &#8220;I&#8217;d be happy if both the president and Donald Trump took cognitive tests.&#8221;
&#8220;I think they both should be willing to take a test,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I think, frankly, a test would show Donald Trump has serious illness of one kind or another. But, ultimately, the decision is going to come down to what Joe Biden thinks is best. And if his decision is to run, then run hard and beat that S.O.B. And if his decision is to pass the torch, then the president should do everything in his power to make that other candidate successful.&#8221;

Baseball Hall-of-Famer Steve Garvey, now the GOP senatorial candidate from California, visited Israel Defense Force Soldiers wounded in the war in Gaza.
Garvey went to Chaim Sheba Medical Center, where he visited with soldiers who had sustained serious injuries, including amputation of limbs, from their efforts at eliminating Hamas. While he was in Tel Aviv, Garvey met with attorney Samara Weiner of Burbank, California, a Democrat who said she would now vote for Garvey.
“On behalf of every Democrat who is Jewish, feeling this way, thank you for your support,” Garvey wrote on Facebook.
“Where others won’t go, my campaign will,” Garvey said. “Americans need to see and understand what happened to Israel on Oct. 7 and why it&#8217;s time for the United States to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Jewish people in Israel and at home.&#8221;

“Seeing the sites of these tragedies firsthand offers a perspective you can&#8217;t get from watching the news,” he added. “Now more than ever, Israel must know that the United States stands with them.”
In March, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) brazenly tried to interfere in Israeli domestic politics by undermining Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a time of war, <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/4531809-schumer-calls-for-new-israel-election-says-netanyahu-has-lost-his-way/">saying</a>, “I also believe Prime Minister Netanyahu has lost his way by allowing his political survival to take the precedence over the best interests of Israel &#8230; As a lifelong supporter of Israel, it has become clear to me: The Netanyahu coalition no longer fits the needs of Israel after Oct. 7. The world has changed — radically — since then, and the Israeli people are being stifled right now by a governing vision that is stuck in the past.”
Rep. Rep. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/adam-schiff" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Adam Schiff</a> (D-CA) was robbed in San Francisco on Thursday before attending a dinner with wealthy backers of his Senate campaign, which caused him to show up to the event without a suit, <a href="https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/car-burglars-snatch-rep-adam-schiff-s-luggage-19424026.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to the San Francisco Chronicle.
The Chronicle reported that car thieves stole Schiff’s luggage, including his clothes, before he was set to speak at a dinner attended by lawyer Joe Cotchett, who is supporting Schiff’s Senate run against Republican candidate Steve Garvey. The race will determine who will occupy the seat occupied by Dianne Feinstein before she died. 
“Yes, they took my bags,” Schiff told the Chronicle when asked about the theft of his bag from a vehicle in a downtown San Francisco parking garage. “But I’m here to thank Joe.”

Cotchett, a top Democratic <a href="https://www.opensecrets.org/search?order=desc&amp;q=joseph+cotchett&amp;sort=N&amp;type=donors">donor,</a> praised Schiff after the dinner, saying he would “change” the Senate. 
“Adam really showed himself tonight,” Cotchett said. “He’ll be a great senator — he’s going to change the Senate tremendously.”
The dinner took place at the Ristorante Rocca, an Italian restaurant in Burlingame, a city near San Francisco. 
“I guess it’s ‘Welcome to San Francisco,’” Cotchett’s press agent Lee Houskeeper told the Chronicle. Houskeeper added that Schiff could maybe go out shopping for new suits with former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown. 
“Maybe he can go out with Willie Brown to choose a new suit from one of the many fine clothing establishments in San Francisco,” he added.  “Willie knows them all.”

Rep. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/adam-schiff" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Adam Schiff</a> (D-CA), who is running for Senate, said on Sunday that he hopes some of the criminal cases against former President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a> go to trial before the 2024 election in November.
During an <a href="https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2024/03/17/sotu-schiff-full-interview.cnn" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview on CNN</a>, host Dana Bash said Trump&#8217;s &#8220;strategy to delay these cases is paying off&#8221; and asked Schiff if he believes there is a chance that Trump might not stand trial before Election Day as dates across the myriad of cases <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/judge-delays-trumps-hush-money-case-heres-where-the-former-presidents-4-criminal-trials-now-stand" target="_blank" rel="noopener">get pushed back</a>.
&#8220;There is a chance that he could evade justice by delaying justice. This is a tried-and-true tactic of Trump throughout his career. And I hope that the courts are aware of exactly what he&#8217;s doing and his incentive in trying to prolong this,&#8221; Schiff said.

&#8220;I hope they won&#8217;t go along with that strategy in New York, I hope that they will look at the facts in terms of what caused the late release of this discovery,&#8221; he added, referring to a hush-money case in Manhattan where the trial date has been <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/judge-delays-trumps-hush-money-case-heres-where-the-former-presidents-4-criminal-trials-now-stand" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pushed back at least 30 days</a>. &#8220;If it was driven by the Trump defense team not requesting it earlier, they should not postpone the trial any further.&#8221;
Schiff said his &#8220;greatest concern&#8221; lies with the timeline of the 2020 election interference case brought by special counsel Jack Smith. The Supreme Court is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/supreme-court-takes-up-trump-immunity-claim" target="_blank" rel="noopener">considering</a> whether Trump can invoke presidential immunity to shield himself from federal prosecution after it <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/supreme-court-rules-trump-cant-be-kicked-off-colorado-ballot" target="_blank" rel="noopener">kept the former president on the ballot</a> in states that tried to ban him over the U.S. Capitol breach on January 6, 2021.
&#8220;If [the Supreme Court] doesn&#8217;t, it&#8217;s making a deliberate decision essentially to push the trial past the election. And I think that would be a terrible decision, both for the interest of justice,&#8221; Schiff said. &#8220;It would be a terrible decision in depriving American voters of the information they would learn during the course of that trial, but it would also just further discredit this partisan and reactionary court.&#8221;
Trump is facing three other criminal cases, including another one led by Smith over the former president’s handling of classified documents, as well as civil litigation. He has broadly denied any wrongdoing and has argued that politically motivated prosecutors are conducting a “witch hunt” against him.
Bash noted that Schiff has &#8220;vehemently disagreed&#8221; with Attorney General Merrick Garland&#8217;s handling of investigations into Trump and asked whether the Cabinet official bears any &#8220;responsibility&#8221; for the prospect of federal cases not being resolved before the election.
&#8220;I think the Justice Department did wait at least a year to look beyond the foot soldiers, that is, those that broke into the Capitol that day, and refrained from looking at those who were the inciters of the attack on the Capitol, the organizers behind it, the higher-ups,&#8221; Schiff replied. &#8220;And, yes, I think that delay has contributed to a situation where none of these trials may go forward, although it is still my hope and belief that at least one or two of them might go forward before the election.&#8221;

He added, &#8220;So, yes, the department bears some of that responsibility. But, nevertheless, when they did bring the indictments, there is still time — was still time to bring those cases in a timely way. They&#8217;re not responsible for any delay at that point. The Trump legal team is. And the courts should not play into that stratagem. The court should recognize that, as he has done before, he hopes that pushing this off will mean no justice for himself or the American people. And the court should simply not abide that strategy.”

During a Capitol Hill hearing on Tuesday, Robert Hur got into a contentious back-and-forth with Rep. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/adam-schiff" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Adam Schiff</a> (D-CA) over how his special counsel report on President Joe Biden&#8217;s handling of classified documents while out of office dealt with the thorny issue of the commander-in-chief&#8217;s<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/released-transcripts-show-biden-lied-about-key-detail-in-documents-probe" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> foggy memory</a>.
Schiff charged that Hur must have known he was injecting his &#8220;personal, prejudicial, subjective opinion&#8221; into the <a href="https://www.justice.gov/storage/report-from-special-counsel-robert-k-hur-february-2024.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> — which described Biden as a &#8220;sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory&#8221; whom a jury likely would not convict &#8220;of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness&#8221; — that political rivals could seize upon in an election season.
When Schiff tried to pivot to the criminal documents case against former President Donald Trump, Hur brought the conversation back to what the California Democrat had just said about the investigation into Biden and lobbed his own accusation at the congressman.

Schiff said the rules demanded that Hur not &#8220;gratuitously do things to prejudice the subject of an investigation when you are declining to prosecute,&#8221; particularly with language &#8220;that you know will be useful in a political campaign.&#8221;
&#8220;You understood exactly what you were doing,&#8221; Schiff said, adding later, &#8220;That was a political choice. It was the wrong choice.&#8221;
In reply, Hur said, &#8220;What you are suggesting is that I shape, sanitize, omit portions of my reasoning and explanation to the attorney general for political reasons — &#8221;
Schiff interjected and declared, &#8220;No, I suggested that you not shape your political report for political reasons, which is what you did.&#8221;
With Schiff&#8217;s time expiring, Hur was allowed to get in one final response: &#8220;That did not happen.&#8221;

Katie Porter Mocked For Claiming Primaries Were Rigged Against Her After She Was Blown Out

Former Major League Baseball MVP and GOP senatorial candidate Steve Garvey won a chance on Tuesday to face off against Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff for the California Senate seat that was held by the late Dianne Feinstein.
Garvey finished second behind Schiff but ahead of Democratic Reps. Katie Porter and Barbara Lee to give the GOP a slight chance to pull off a major upset in the heavily Democratic state. No Republican has won a U.S. Senate seat in California since 1988; there are twice as many registered Democrats as Republicans in the state.
“Let&#8217;s celebrate,” Garvey told his supporters. “Welcome to the California comeback.”
Referencing his walk-off home run as a San Diego Padre against the Chicago Cubs in the fourth game of the 1984 National League Championship Series, which kept the Padres in the series before they won the decisive fifth game to advance to the World Series, he continued, “What you all are feeling tonight is what it&#8217;s like to hit a walk-off home run. Kind of like San Diego in &#8217;84 &#8230; Keep in mind, this is the first game of a doubleheader, so keep the evening of Nov. 5 open as we will celebrate again.”
“You’ve exercised the most powerful of our freedoms; that is our right to vote,” he declared. “I’ve always said this: It is the single greatest currency we have. You can’t trade it; you can’t give it away. It’s inherently yours; it’s your personal choice. Your vote is your shared belief with me that California is no longer the heartbeat of America. Sadly, it’s just a murmur. That we have challenges to face up to like closing the border and responsibilities to live up to like helping the homeless off the streets and a pathway back to their dignity.
