The Department of Education referred its Minnesota transgender athletes investigation to the Justice Department on Monday, a major step toward pulling funding for the Democrat-run state&#8217;s education and high school sports agencies.
Minnesota has so far refused to negotiate with the Trump administration on the issue after the federal government found that the state violated Title IX by allowing boys to compete against girls. Now, Minnesota is close to losing its federal funding from the Education Department and the Department of Health and Human Services, The Daily Caller <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2026/01/26/minnesota-trump-administration-title-ix-education-department-health-human-services/">reported</a>. The DOJ referral comes as the Trump administration targets Minnesota in its immigration enforcement operation and over allegations of massive fraud.
&#8220;As Minnesota reels from a fraud scandal, @GovTimWalz is fighting to keep men in women’s sports,&#8221; Education Secretary Linda McMahon <a href="https://x.com/EDSecMcMahon/status/2015868775153782813">wrote</a> on X. &#8220;Now, he’ll have to make his case in court.&#8221;
The Education Department and HHS <a href="https://www.ed.gov/about/news/press-release/us-department-of-education-and-us-department-of-health-and-human-services-find-minnesota-violated-title-ix">said</a> last September that their investigation found the Minnesota State High School League was in violation of Title IX by allowing boys who identified as girls to compete against girls in high school sports. Minnesota was the center of a sports controversy last spring when a male pitcher <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/girls-softball-team-sparks-outrage-after-suspected-male-pitcher-leads-them-to-state-tournament">dominated</a> the girls&#8217; state softball tournament. The Trump administration also said that Minnesota allowed boys to compete against girls in Alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, lacrosse, track and field, and volleyball.
The Minnesota Department of Education has argued that Title IX &#8220;requires schools provide transgender students with the right to participate in…athletics in a manner consistent with their gender identity&#8221; and that “transgender and gender nonconforming students should be afforded the opportunity to use the restroom of their choice&#8221; &#8212; positions that directly contradict the Trump administration&#8217;s interpretation of the law.
“Despite repeated opportunities to comply with Title IX, Minnesota has chosen defiance – continuing to jeopardize the safety of women and girls, deny them fair competition, and erode their right to equal access in educational programs and activities,” McMahon told The Daily Caller.
&#8220;The Trump Administration will not stop until accountability is delivered for Minnesota’s students,” she added.
Minnesota leftist Attorney General Keith Ellison <a href="https://www.ag.state.mn.us/Office/Communications/2025/04/22_EO_TitleIX.asp">sued</a> the Trump administration over the president&#8217;s executive order on keeping men out of women&#8217;s sports, arguing that the Trump administration is &#8220;bullying vulnerable children.&#8221; Ellison said last year that Trump does not have the authority to override Minnesota state law that allows trans-identifying athletes to compete in sports categories that match their gender identities.
Trump signed an executive order in February banning boys and men from competing against female athletes, threatening to strip federal funding from states that don’t obey the order. The Trump administration has also gone after Maine and California for violating Title IX protections for women and girls.

A self-described “lefty lesbian lawyer” says she was fired by New York Attorney General Letitia James after months of publicly speaking out against transgender medical procedures for children. 
<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/top-letitia-james-deputy-breaks-from-dems-to-speak-out-against-gender-affirming-care">Glenna Goldis</a> lost her position in the consumer fraud bureau after warning about the dangers of so-called treatments like puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for minors. In July, Goldis <a href="https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/Healthcare-Workshop-Speakers-July-9-2025.pdf">participated</a> in a Federal Trade Commission roundtable on transgender procedures in her private capacity. 
“Today I was fired by NY Attorney General Letitia James for speaking out against pediatric gender medicine (PGM),” Goldis posted on X. “I was an attorney in [New York Attorney General&#8217;s] consumer frauds bureau, which did not work on anything related to PGM. Since 2024 I&#8217;d been raising the alarm publicly and within NYAG that PGM providers may be engaged in a dangerous consumer fraud. James&#8217;s officials treated me like a pest.”
Goldis said that James&#8217;s lawyers “struggled” to identify what was problematic about her public statements. 
“When the general counsel finally identified an objectionable line in my blog, it was where I stated the holding of US v. Skrmetti (banning [pediatric gender medicine] isn&#8217;t discriminatory). She wrote that it contradicted James&#8217;s legal position,” Goldis said. 
Goldis said she was told that she was not allowed to &#8220;take public legal positions that conflict” with James under the Rules of Professional Conduct. She said that the claim was inaccurate and accused the attorney of trying to cow her “into silence.”
James has been a vocal supporter of transgender medical procedures for minors and previously sued to block President Donald Trump’s executive order cutting federal funding to institutions that facilitate such interventions. 
A spokesman for James confirmed Goldis&#8217;s firing to The Daily Wire. 
“The Office of the Attorney General has rules and protocols for employees who engage in activities that can impact the work, operations, or integrity of the office,” the spokesman said. “This employee’s flagrant and repeated disregard of these rules and protocols disrupts and undermines our efforts to protect the rights of all New Yorkers.”
Goldis said her social circles are “full of progressive lawyers.” 
“I&#8217;m a lesbian, i.e., a ‘member of the LGBTQ community’ that James purports to champion. I tried to explain to NYAG officials that PGM, by its nature, targets children who defy sexed norms — whom studies show are more likely to be gay when they grow up,” she said Thursday. “If Letitia James actually cared about ‘LGBTQ’ youth then she&#8217;d research ‘gender’ drugs and learn what they do. Instead, she glibly calls the drugs ‘safe’ and fires me for contradicting her.”
Goldis said she hopes Democratic officials will one day move away from the party&#8217;s intolerance of dissent on transgender-related policy.
“In the end, NYAG accused me of engaging in ‘disruptive public speech.’ Unfortunately, that&#8217;s not true. I haven&#8217;t disrupted the Democratic elite&#8217;s zombie-like devotion to PGM providers,” she said. “But I&#8217;m just getting started.”
Ahead of her appearance at the FTC roundtable, Goldis told The Daily Wire she wanted to end what she described as a &#8220;taboo&#8221; on criticizing the transgender medical industry. 
“I want to end that, I want to break the taboo,” she said. “There’s a taboo out there which is just performing so much work for the gender doctors. The healthcare industry is able to make all this money and pass off all these lies because there’s a taboo against criticizing it. And so I want to smash that taboo.”

In an era of spiraling political absurdity, America finds itself squandering precious time and resources on what should be one of the most straightforward, apolitical facts of human existence: only women can get pregnant.
Even Democrat strategist James Carville recently <a href="https://x.com/GrabienMedia/status/2012559321582772621">mocked the absurdity</a> of today’s gender politics on Fox News, saying, “I’m not worried about getting pregnant. I have no idea why this is the number one issue in America.”
It’s time to stop pretending this point of view is controversial. As a mom, I’m calling for this political charade to end in 2026.
After many decades of modern scientific consensus, which follows centuries and even millennia of common sense on the subject, we’ve somehow devolved into laughably ridiculous disagreements over gender. This isn’t just science; it is the order of creation itself, designed by God with intention and clarity. But it is politically unserious to convene hearings where elected politicians and sitting Supreme Court Justices go through the motions of grilling so-called experts on a matter that, in terms of objective reality, isn’t even up for debate.
Imagine a congressional hearing on whether gravity affects everyone equally, or if some people can ‘identify’ as not being subject to such a narrow-minded and restrictive force. Or, imagine someone bringing a case before the Supreme Court to decide whether humans require oxygen to live, or if some could ‘identify’ as anaerobic and live on carbon dioxide alone. We, the serious masses, wouldn’t even entertain the conversation. We would turn our attention to real political issues like immigration, national security, or the economy, and not waste our time.
Speaking of which, I don’t have much time to waste these days. I just welcomed our third child in three years into this world. It was beautiful, painful, exhausting, and awe-inspiring; the kind of experience that reminds you just how extraordinary the female body truly is. God entrusted me to carry a child and give birth, something only a woman can do. A man is simply incapable of doing what I did. That isn’t opinion, it’s biological reality.
And as a mother who just gave birth, I’m exhausted that this ever became a political issue. Women shouldn’t have to fight to own something as fundamental as pregnancy.
Which is why I was so disgusted when I watched the congressional hearing where Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) questioned the so-called “expert,” and (somehow) certified OB/GYN, Dr. Nisha Verma.
Dr. Verma testified before the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee on abortion pill safety. She represented Physicians for Reproductive Health, and Sen. Hawley asked her a simple question that has an objective, biological, common-sense answer: “Can men get pregnant?”
Dr. Verma, who definitely knows the answer, repeatedly dodged the question — insisting instead that it was a “political tool” that “polarized” the discussion and failed to capture the “complex experiences” of her patients. I wonder if Dr. Verma would also dodge questions about whether people could choose to live without oxygen or decide that gravity doesn’t apply to them. Would she claim such farcical questions are political tools that polarize?

That is really the crux of the issue here; none of this should be treated as a political issue. A serious nation would not waste another moment nor another taxpayer dollar entertaining such an unserious conversation. The entire premise should be dismissed outright as unworthy of the time it would take to even ask such a ludicrous question. Stop indulging delusion and start governing in reality.
Incredibly, this Senate hearing came just days after the Supreme Court heard arguments regarding men in women’s sports. Ironically, this is the same thing that happened to one of the sitting Justices during her confirmation hearing, when she was unable to answer a similar question — “What is a woman?” More incredible still, she and every other person still hung up on this issue suddenly know what a woman is when it comes to breaking the glass ceiling and placing the first black woman on the Supreme Court of the United States.
Suddenly, they all know what a woman is? Suddenly, that distinction matters? No, not suddenly. They always knew because it’s an objective, reality-based fact that isn’t up for debate, unless we pretend along with those who want to bend reality.
Even James Carville wasn’t just stating a fact; he was calling out how absurd the debate itself has become. His joke on Fox News wasn’t about biology; it was about how fake and manufactured this entire controversy is. But Democrats keep entertaining fiction to pander to rabid extremists and then expect the rest of the country to play along.
The bottom line is simple: there is no debate, so entertaining one is foolish. Polling consistently shows that most Americans are willing to publicly admit that they understand the biological reality of sex. Voters aren’t confused, but Washington is pretending to be. Americans are tired of political grandstanding on issues that don’t matter. And 2026 should be the year this nonsense ends.
It’s time to stop coddling absurdity as though we owe irrationality an esteemed seat at every table. One might say that when you wrestle with a pig in lipstick, it’s still a pig, and you both get dirty. It’s not respect, and it’s not compassion. It’s suicidal empathy. If we let lunacy hijack constructive conversation, we all crash together.

The university that produced Nathan Hale, one of America&#8217;s earliest and most revered heroes, apparently can’t tell the difference between men and women. 
A civil rights complaint filed Thursday by the watchdog group Defending Education accuses Yale University of violating Title IX and President Donald Trump’s executive order protecting women from radical gender ideology. The <a href="https://defendinged.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Yale-OCR_letterhead_1.22.26.signed.pdf">complaint</a>, first obtained by The Daily Wire, alleges that the historic institution does not take sufficient steps to ensure that women are able to have privacy in their bathrooms without intrusion from gender-confused men.
“Yale University is one of the United States’ most prestigious educational institutions. It also happens to be one of the largest recipients of federal funding of any institution of higher education in the country,&#8221; Defending Education Vice President Sarah Parshall Perry told The Daily Wire. &#8220;But despite its rich history and longstanding prestige, Yale seems content to follow the path of its woke sister ivies in prioritizing gender identity over biological sex, in apparent violation of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.&#8221;
The complaint was filed with the Education Department’s Office for Civil Rights and alleges that the university’s bathroom policies violate Title IX, which bans sex-based discrimination at federally funded institutions. 
Defending Education wants the Education Department to step in and ensure that women have access to their own bathrooms at Yale. 
“Yale’s bathroom policies likely violate Title IX because they provide male and gender-neutral bathrooms on some coed undergraduate dormitory floors without also providing female bathrooms on the same dormitory floors,” the complaint filed by Defending Education Vice President Sarah Parshall Perry says. “Yale has converted many campus bathrooms into ‘gender inclusive’ bathrooms.”
According to a map <a href="https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?ll=41.31882761989977%2C-72.94422212541701&amp;z=13&amp;mid=19iHelKu2YL3A7smpJmerSSuVfD-Ohr4">posted</a> by the university, Yale has dozens of “all gender” bathrooms throughout its sprawling New Haven, Connecticut, campus. Some of these “gender inclusive” bathrooms are located in residential buildings. 
“With bathrooms designated as women’s, men’s, or gender-inclusive, students have the autonomy over their living arrangements and can prioritize roommate choice without worrying about bathroom location,” Yale <a href="https://housing.yale.edu/undergraduate-housing/room-draw/additional-resources">notes</a> on its website. “Students can be assured that a suitable bathroom will be accessible within their college, even if it’s not on their specific floor.”
This appears to indicate that some dormitory floors have male and “all gender” bathrooms, but not female bathrooms. This is confirmed by a “Trans@Yale Survival Guide” <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20251213175155/https://sites.google.com/yale.edu/transatyalesurvivalguide/survival-guide/bathrooms">that states</a> “most bathrooms throughout Yale&#8217;s housing facilities are gender-neutral and shared amongst students in any given entryway.”
Defending Education said in its complaint that they believe this violates President Donald Trump’s <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/defending-women-from-gender-ideology-extremism-and-restoring-biological-truth-to-the-federal-government/">executive order</a> cracking down on transgender ideology and Title IX guidance from the administration. 
The complaint also took issue with Yale’s interpretation of Title IX and its policies toward “gender identity.” For example, Yale’s “Policy Against Discrimination, Harassment, and Sexual Misconduct” <a href="https://oiea.yale.edu/frequently-asked-questions">treats</a> gender-identity as a protected class. Yale’s Title IX office also responds to claims of both “sex- and gender-based discrimination.” According to Defending Education, Title IX should only apply to sex discrimination. 
&#8220;Yale is attempting to have its cake (nearly $900 million in federal funding in fiscal year 2024), and eat it too (by instituting bathroom, harassment, and non-discrimination policies that pick sides on the gender identity debate). Too much federal funding is at stake to ignore malfeasance and bad legal takes like Yale&#8217;s,&#8221; Perry told The Daily Wire.
The Biden administration attempted to include gender-identity as a protected class under Title IX, but was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-supreme-court-blocks-bidens-title-ix-rules-that-allowed-men-in-womens-sports">rebuffed</a> by the Supreme Court. That came after dozens of Republican-led states challenged the policy.

Historic University Accused Of Violating Trump’s Transgender Policy

Elon Musk is funding a lawsuit from the Texas doctor who is accusing Texas Children&#8217;s Hospital and multiple physicians of crafting &#8220;malicious&#8221; lies about him to destroy his career as they attempted to cover up their efforts to transition children.
Dr. Eithan Haim blew the whistle on Texas Children&#8217;s Hospital in May 2023, unveiling proof that the hospital had lied about ending its transgender medical program and was still performing attempted transition procedures on children as young as 11. His disclosures showed the hospital was breaking the law, as Texas had just passed a bipartisan law to ban the procedures.
One month later he received a visit from federal agents — and he quickly realized he was on former president Joe Biden&#8217;s target list. His lawsuit, filed this month in Texas, says that individuals at the hospital worked with Biden&#8217;s Department of Justice &#8220;by devising a scheme to destroy his career and put him behind bars.&#8221;
Haim, who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/a-doctor-blew-the-whistle-on-his-hospitals-transgender-clinic-now-the-feds-are-trying-to-ruin-his-life">first came forward</a> about the legal crusade against him to The Daily Wire in January 2024, suffered the consequences of severe federal scrutiny for more than a year, until President Donald Trump took office in January 2025. Trump&#8217;s Justice Department <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/a-tale-of-two-phone-calls-how-josh-hawley-fought-for-victims-of-bidens-doj">dropped</a> the case. His lawsuit says they were &#8220;dismissed with prejudice because they were founded on lies, not facts or law.&#8221;

Now he&#8217;s looking for payback against the hospital that put him in the mess. He says it&#8217;s fitting that Musk is backing the lawsuit, because of how important Musk&#8217;s platform X was to his initial fight.
&#8220;The only way I was able to fight back against an unjust prosecution was to tell the truth. And the only way for people to see the truth was because of X,&#8221; Haim told The Daily Wire. &#8220;For this reason, they have proven themselves to be an incalculable force for good at a time when it&#8217;s most important.&#8221;
<h3>The Lawsuit</h3>
Haim is suing Texas Children&#8217;s Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Larry Hollier Jr., a board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Kristy Rialon, an associate professor of surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and pediatric surgeon at Texas Children&#8217;s, and Afsheen Davis, the general counsel for Texas Children&#8217;s.
The lawsuit challenges &#8220;the malicious prosecution against Dr. Haim for blowing the whistle on Texas Children’s Hospital&#8217;s efforts to conceal the existence of their Transgender Health Program.&#8221;
Hollier was the key witness who &#8220;knowingly lied&#8221; to federal authorities at HHS, FBI, and DOJ to &#8220;fabricate a story that would serve as the predicate for the criminal investigation and eventual prosecution&#8221; against Haim, the lawsuit states.
Rialon posted a number of &#8220;anonymous defamatory reviews&#8221; on Haim&#8217;s public WebMD profile while he was still an anonymous whistleblower and his identity had not been made public. Her reviews, according to the lawsuit, &#8220;accused him of mutilating and raping his patients.&#8221; In one post, she pretended to be a female patient who had been raped by Haim.
Her posts, according to the lawsuit, were intended to encourage the government&#8217;s prosecution as well as punish Haim for &#8220;exposing Texas Children’s Hospital&#8217;s deception and her complicity in the misconduct.&#8221; Rialon admitted to the FBI that she posted these claims against Haim under fake names, the lawsuit notes.
The final defendant, Texas Children&#8217;s general counsel and senior vice president Afsheen Davis, was lead counsel when the hospital met with federal agents to &#8220;encourage the investigation&#8221; into Haim.
<h3>&#8216;Blacklisted&#8217;</h3>
The lawsuit extensively cites the reporting and social media posts of journalist Chris Rufo, who broke Haim&#8217;s story when he was anonymous whistleblower, and who continued to cover Haim&#8217;s plight throughout the DOJ&#8217;s prosecution. Rufo also published the story of a whistleblower who was inspired by Haim to step forward, Vanessa Sivadge, who also received visits from federal authorities.
Haim&#8217;s lawsuit alleges that the individuals and institutions named as defendants &#8220;concocted&#8221; a story that his disclosures had violated HIPAA, an allegation he says they knew to be false. They found ready partners at the Biden administration HHS, FBI, and DOJ, his lawsuit notes, &#8220;particularly Assistant United States Attorney Tina Ansari.&#8221;
Ansari&#8217;s family has &#8220;substantial financial and political ties&#8221; to Texas Children&#8217;s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine, a fact that Haim&#8217;s lawyers pointed out to the DOJ in November 2024, causing her to withdraw from the case. Haim and his suit argue that the other individuals named in the lawsuit saw Ansari as a &#8220;willing accomplice&#8221; given these family ties, and her quick moves to target Haim before fully even understanding the allegations against him.
&#8220;Dr. Haim’s budding reputation and career as a surgeon were severely damaged as a direct result of Defendants’ unconscionable and vindictive conduct,&#8221; the lawsuit says. &#8220;Having moved to Rockwall County in September 2023, Dr. Haim was embarking on a promising career.&#8221;
&#8220;However, because of the pretextual investigation and sham prosecution against him, Dr. Haim has been blacklisted from major hospitals and surgical practices, unable to obtain valuable credentialing or privileges despite being otherwise qualified,&#8221; the suit continues. &#8220;Haim was forced to constantly fend off and refute false claims that he violated HIPAA and engaged in a host of other unethical behaviors, including the malicious accusations Defendant Dr. Rialon made about him on WebMD and other Google physician reviews.&#8221;
This was particularly egregious when it came to media reporting on Haim&#8217;s case: the New York Times, Boston Globe, New York Post, and other outlets repeated the false allegations in the indictment as they covered the charges against him, the lawsuit notes. That reporting included the suggestion that he intended to harm children.
Haim&#8217;s lawsuit argues that the long term effects of this reporting can be seen in a January 2025 Washington Post article in which the publication asks readers whether or not the agreed with the DOJ&#8217;s decision to drop charges against Haim, &#8220;the Texas doctor accused of sharing transgender care data.&#8221;
&#8220;It received over 750 comments,&#8221; the lawsuit says. &#8220;The comments were overwhelmingly negative and vilified Dr. Haim by echoing Defendants’ knowingly false allegations, that he had violated HIPAA by accessing and sharing confidential medical records related to transgender care.&#8221;
&#8220;The malicious prosecution of Dr. Haim made the false allegations the focus of national news. Additionally, believing the false narrative perpetuated by Defendants, many Washington Post readers expressed misguided outrage at the decision to drop the case, believing that it set a dangerous precedent for patient privacy. Commenters called for Dr. Haim to lose his medical license and face legal consequences.
The suit argues that Haim&#8217;s surgical and academic career has been &#8220;irreparably limited,&#8221; that he&#8217;s incurred heavy attorneys&#8217; fees and costs, that he has suffered severe emotional distress, and his standing in the community has been harmed so egregiously that he &#8220;fears for his life,&#8221; due to the number of death threats he received based on the false allegations against him.
Haim has had to take &#8220;additional security measures to protect himself and his family,&#8221; and &#8220;he has suffered and continues to suffer from persistent fear of physical violence due to the large number of threats he has received at home and at work.&#8221;
Haim says he is &#8220;eternally grateful&#8221; for the support of not just Musk and X, but also the lawyers who supported him since the charges were first brought against him.
&#8220;I am eternally grateful for Elon Musk, X Corp, and the legal teams at Schaer Jaffe and Burke Law Group for supporting me in this effort,&#8221; Haim told The Daily Wire.

Like many young American girls, when I was a teenager, I hated myself and my body. I was unhappy and anxious. Eventually, I was diagnosed with depression and anorexia. 
It goes without saying that I was no stranger to feeling like I wasn’t “me” in my own body. No one told me to get liposuction for my anorexia. But when I went to the counselor’s office for my first appointment for gender dysphoria, I left with a letter of approval for testosterone.
Since I’ve detransitioned, life has felt like a roller coaster. The physical distress I experienced going through hormone “therapy” and surgery that drastically changed my body is only one portion of how horrific it truly is to not only attempt something impossible by supposedly transitioning from one gender to another, but to return to identifying with reality.
I was called a patient, but from start to finish, I was never treated like one.
Being a patient requires informed consent and the exhaustion of all avenues of care before resorting to the most drastic option. And yet, from the start, doctors were ecstatic to accelerate my so-called transition without once suggesting mental health treatment. Instead, a counselor suggested almost immediately that I needed to be put on wrong-sex hormones. When I raised any suspicion that this was not the right choice for me, the doctors were far from supportive and made me feel like my voice didn’t matter anymore. I was praised for raising my voice and embracing who I thought I was, but only when I identified as trans. Yet when I voiced a dissenting opinion on the same topic, the response was underwhelming and even shame-inducing.
For years, gender clinics, medical associations, and activist groups have driven the conversation around so-called “gender-affirming care,” but there has never been any long-term testing done to see what the implications of these treatments are on minors, especially the ones still going through puberty. Any time a question was raised as to whether this was safe, or if there could be a possibility of trans-identifying minors changing their minds down the road, it was diminished as “rare” and accused of putting politics over the mental health of these children.
The Trump administration has been the first presidential administration to sound the alarm on these harmful practices. For the first time, federal agencies started to ask the questions that detransitioners had been trying to warn the public about: are these “treatments” actually safe, or are they doing more harm than good?
In his first year back in office, President Trump has elevated the voices of detransitioners like me. Last summer, I had the honor of testifying <a href="https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/GAC-RFI-FINAL.pdf">in front of the Federal Trade Commission</a>, sharing my experience of how I was essentially forced into “gender-affirming care,” instead of the mental health care and therapy I desperately needed. Only a few years ago, my voice would have never been heard in the federal landscape.
Gender medicine has thrived in a system with zero accountability. I am proud to be at the forefront of a movement that is finally asking for the kind of accountability that is long overdue.
Detransitioners like me have been gaslit into believing we are anomalies, and that if doctors hadn’t taken action, we would’ve been suicidal or worse, dead. What the mainstream doesn’t want you to know is that my mental health issues didn’t magically disappear overnight once I began transitioning — they actually got worse. Yet the doctors who led me down this path have faced zero opposition and zero accountability — until now.
President Trump and his administration have been a disruptor to the system of gender ideology since day one. His administration has led the charge to make sure that the doctors, experts, and gender-ideology apologists finally answer the questions that have been stamped down, argued as ridiculous, and smeared by those who chose ideology over reality.
One of the first actions President Trump took upon being back in the Oval Office was <a href="https://www.independentwomen.com/2025/01/28/president-trump-protects-americas-children-from-chemical-surgical-mutilation-in-latest-executive-order/">signing an executive order</a> to protect minors from receiving any sex-changing surgery or procedure. This executive order also directs the Department of Health and Human Services to prevent taxpayer dollars from being used to subsidize irreversible medical harm to children. HHS’s proposed guardrails bar hospitals that perform “gender-affirming care” from participating in Medicare and Medicaid.
Late last year, HHS also <a href="https://www.independentwomen.com/2025/12/18/hhs-takes-historic-action-to-ban-body-mutilating-medical-procedures-targeting-gender-confused-youth/">released a peer-reviewed, evidence-based review</a> concluding pediatric gender interventions lack long-term safety data and do not meet professionally recognized standards of care. Secretary Kennedy formally declared that these dangerous procedures were far outside acceptable medical practice. This bold move was the nail in the coffin of the claim that “the science is settled” and got gender medicine back on track based on evidence, ethics, and informed consent.
Detransitioners like myself are grateful for the actions taken by the Trump administration that will ensure the safety and well-being of the next generation.
While my detransitioner friends and I may not have been protected, I know that the work we have put in — in speaking out, standing up, and tirelessly testifying across the country — will have a meaningful impact in protecting kids who are struggling with their mental health. I will continue to fight for the childhoods of every gender-confused kid out there so that they are protected from fear, coercion, and medical harm.

The Left can’t let the transgender issue go away.
They were clobbered on it last November. They’ve been losing on it for years. Conservatives won the argument, decisively — and yet the Left keeps dragging it back into the spotlight. Now they’re pushing cases all the way to the Supreme Court under the guise of “defending girls’ sports,” even as the Court is actively weighing a major transgender-related case.
That context matters, because it’s why a recent Senate hearing landed the way it did.
During a Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee (HELP) hearing focused on abortion drugs, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO), one of the best to ever do it, grilled Democrat witness Dr. Nisha Verma, a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist, on the question that has dominated American politics for the past five years.
The exchange, which quickly went viral, revolved around a simple inquiry: “Can men get pregnant?”

Hawley is so good at this.
This question is just another version of “What is a Woman?” It’s another way of asking whether men can become women. It should be a layup for the Left. All they have to say is: “No, men cannot become pregnant.”
They could even try to weasel out of it. They could say something about “trans men” or redefine terms in the usual bureaucratic way. Any halfway competent liberal operative would recognize that this issue is pure political poison and dodge it immediately. 
But they can’t.
The transgender issue may be the single biggest loser for the Left in my lifetime — possibly even more damaging than their insistence on flooding the country with foreign criminals. And yet they refuse to abandon it. Not because it’s culturally edgy or titillating, but because it represents the inescapable conclusion of their entire political project.
Conservatives sometimes understate what’s actually going on here. We describe transgenderism as a natural outgrowth of gay marriage, gay rights, or feminism — movements that insist men and women are fundamentally the same. That’s part of the story, but it doesn’t go deep enough.
The reason Republicans and conservatives keep hammering this issue — and the reason the Left cannot give it up — is because it strikes at the core of liberalism itself.
At its heart, liberalism is about maximizing individual autonomy. That idea goes back centuries. The seed of liberalism says: I am primarily an individual, and I will control everything. I will control my destiny, my traditions, my morality, my religion, my history, and even my country. And eventually, I will liberate myself from my own body.
That is the culmination.

It took centuries to get here. First, we had to liberate ourselves from the king. Then from the Church. Then from the family, through the liberalization of divorce. Then from history, through radical revisionism. Then from the nation, through the collapse of patriotism. Then from the moral order, especially in matters of sex.
And finally, liberation from biological reality itself.
Liberalism is not complete until the body is treated as irrelevant.
Which brings us, inevitably, to St. Thomas Aquinas.
Aquinas identified the idea underlying transgenderism — that the body has nothing to do with who we really are — as one of the oldest and most dangerous heresies. The belief that I am born male but am really female, and therefore my body is wrong or bad, is not new. It appears in ancient heresies like Gnosticism and Docetism, which treated matter as corrupt and the physical world as a mistake.
Aquinas argued that these were the worst heresies of all, because they directly deny the central truth of Christianity: the Incarnation — that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
So it should not surprise us that modern liberalism, which often functions as an inversion of Christianity, would culminate in precisely this heresy. A political philosophy built on autonomy over reality eventually arrives at the rejection of the body itself.
That’s why the Left can’t walk away from this issue, no matter how badly it hurts them politically.
It isn’t just another policy debate.
It’s the logical endpoint of their worldview.

During a Senate hearing on Wednesday, a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist refused to say that a man can&#8217;t get pregnant.
The <a href="https://x.com/cspan/status/2011482034321920483">exchange</a> between Dr. Nisha Verma and Missouri Senator Josh Hawley took place during the &#8220;Protecting Women: Exposing the Dangers of Chemical Abortion Drugs&#8221; Senate Hearing. Dr. Verma was the witness Democrats brought in to represent their side of the hearing.
Senator Hawley repeatedly asked Dr. Verma throughout the exchange, &#8220;Can men get pregnant?&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;m not really sure what the goal of the question is,&#8221; Dr. Verma said.
Senator Hawley&#8217;s question followed Senator Ashley Moody&#8217;s similar question to Dr. Verma. The reproductive doctor refused to answer Moody as well. Moody asked the question to point out that men were getting hold of the abortion pill.
Hawley reminded Dr. Verma that the goal of this point-blank question was to get to the truth.
&#8220;The goal is just to establish a biological reality,&#8221; Hawley said. &#8220;Can men get pregnant?&#8221;
The Emory physician again refused to answer the question. Instead, she told the senator she takes care of people with many &#8220;identities.&#8221;
&#8220;I do take care of people that don&#8217;t identify as women,&#8221; she said while still refusing to say if men get pregnant.
Dr. Verma, who was speaking in favor of mifepristone, the abortion drug up for debate, urged the committee to follow the science and evidence on the medication, but couldn&#8217;t speak to the science behind a man&#8217;s reproductive limitations.
&#8220;I think you&#8217;re trying to reduce the complexity of a lot of people&#8217;s lives,&#8221; Dr. Verma said to Sen. Hawley.
Neither side budged from their beliefs during the exchange. In an effort to ignore the science and Hawley&#8217;s question, Dr. Verma said the question of whether men can get pregnant was being asked as a &#8220;political tool.&#8221;
&#8220;Yes/no questions like this are a political tool.&#8221; Dr. Verma argued. &#8220;I would be more than happy to have a conversation with you that is not coming from a place of trying to be polarized.&#8221;
&#8220;It is not polarizing to say that women are a biological reality and should be treated and protected as such,&#8221; Hawley said. &#8220;That is not polarizing, that is [the] truth.&#8221;

Hawley appeared alarmed by the doctor&#8217;s lack of reproductive knowledge.
&#8220;We are here in a hearing about science, and about women and, for the record, it&#8217;s women who get pregnant, not men,&#8221; Hawley told the doctor. &#8220;And yet you won&#8217;t even acknowledge the basic reality that biological men don&#8217;t get pregnant. There is a difference between biological men and biological women. I don&#8217;t know how we can take you seriously and your claims to be a person of science if you won&#8217;t level with us on this basic issue. I thought we were past all of this.&#8221;
Verma claimed to be a &#8220;person of science&#8221; and continued to argue that &#8220;polarized&#8221; language and questions &#8220;don&#8217;t serve the American people.&#8221;
Dr. Verma is not the first one in Washington, D.C. to challenge basic biology this week.
During a Supreme Court hearing on two cases involving men in women&#8217;s sports, the lawyer representing the trans-identifying athlete couldn&#8217;t define the word &#8220;sex&#8221; in regard to biology when Justice Samuel Alito asked her to.
“We do not have a definition for the court,&#8221; Kathleen Hartnett said.
By definition, an obstetrician-gynecologist specializes in women&#8217;s reproductive health.
&#8220;I wouldn&#8217;t trust her to give me an aspirin,&#8221; Fugitive Mama said on <a href="https://x.com/fugitivemama/status/2011498692021534844?s=20">X</a>.
Hawley didn&#8217;t get his answer, but got the final word.
&#8220;I am glad we had this exchange because it&#8217;s exceptionally clarifying. It is also in many ways quite depressing,&#8221; Hawley said.

WASHINGTON—The Supreme Court appears poised to allow states to keep men out of women’s sports after the majority of justices seemed favorable towards laws from West Virginia and Idaho that make participation in women’s sports contingent on sex.
After three and a half hours of arguments on Tuesday, the justices seemed skeptical of claims from transgender-identifying athletes that laws keeping them off women’s sports teams violate the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution and Title IX. The outcome of the cases could have far-reaching implications for protecting women’s privacy in bathrooms, locker rooms, and other sensitive spaces.
The justices heard the cases of West Virginia v. B.P.J. and Little v. Hecox. Both cases revolve around laws in West Virginia and Idaho that prohibit men from competing on women’s sports teams.
The strongest pushback against the arguments made against the laws came from Justice Samuel Alito, who pressed lawyer Kathleen Hartnett, an attorney representing a transgender-identifying male athlete from Idaho, about what her definition of sex was.
“Is it not necessary for there to be, for Equal Protection purposes, if that is challenged under the Equal Protection Clause, an understanding of what it means to be a boy or a girl or a man or a woman?” he asked.
“We do not have a definition for the court, and we don&#8217;t take issue with the … we&#8217;re not disputing the definition here. What we&#8217;re saying is that the way it applies in practice is to exclude birth sex males categorically from women&#8217;s teams, and that there&#8217;s a subset of those birth sex males where it doesn&#8217;t make sense to do so, according to the state&#8217;s own interest,” Hartnett replied.
“How can a court determine whether there&#8217;s discrimination on the basis of sex without knowing what sex means for Equal Protection purposes?” Alito followed up. He also asked Hartnett if she thought female athletes worried about fair competition were bigots.
In a different section of arguments, Chief Justice John Roberts joined in Alito’s skepticism about ACLU lawyer Joshua Block’s reluctance to provide a definition of sex for the court.
&#8220;Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex. It&#8217;s a statutory term, it must mean something,&#8221; Roberts said. &#8220;You&#8217;re arguing here there is discrimination on the basis of sex, and how can we decide that question without knowing what sex means in Title IX?&#8221;
Justice Brett Kavanaugh appeared inclined to let the debate play out at the state level, noting that 27 states have protected women’s sports while the other 23 allow males who identify as females to compete in the women’s division.
“Why would we, at this point, just the role of this court, jump in and try to constitutionalize the rule for the whole country while [there&#8217;s] still, as you say, uncertainty, debate — while there are still strong interests on the other side?” he said.
Kavanaugh also noted that sports are often a “zero-sum game” and that even one transgender-identifying athlete allowed on a women’s team could have an outsized impact.
At a press conference after the case, Alliance Defending Freedom lawyer John Bursch told The Daily Wire that he believes the issue should be national and that women in California and Massachusetts should not have their right to fair competition taken away.
During arguments, demonstrators on both sides held competing rallies. One woman from North Carolina who was holding a sign in favor of protecting women&#8217;s sports told The Daily Wire that she got on a bus at 3:00 a.m. to travel up to Washington, D.C., for the demonstration.

A Nevada ballot measure that would enshrine a ban in the state constitution on athletes who identify as transgender to compete on women’s sports teams is likely to be put before voters in November, drawing increased attention to the gubernatorial race.
Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo announced the “Protect Girls’ Sports” initiative last week after teasing it throughout last year. The measure would “amend the Equal Rights Amendment to protect fairness and integrity in girls’ athletics,” particularly regarding public funding, according to a press release.
“We are taking thoughtful steps to ensure girls’ sports are fair and athletes are safe,” Lombardo, who’s seeking re-election, said in a statement. “It’s important that female athletes have the opportunity to succeed in their athletic field. By bringing together a diverse coalition now, we can establish clear and fair standards that protect generations of female athletes to come.”
If the measure gathers enough signatures to qualify for a statewide vote, it would first be on the 2026 ballot as a question, then return to the 2028 ballot for final approval before being added to the constitution.
&#8220;Title IX was instituted for a reason – to create a level playing field so that girls and boys have an equal chance to succeed in our schools,&#8221; petition initiative director Adriana Guzmán Fralick said in a statement. &#8220;But there has been an attack on girls’ athletics that seeks to disrupt that equality. The people of Nevada do not support this, and I’m proud to help them make their voice heard on this issue at the ballot box.”
The issue is already a hot topic on the campaign trail, as Attorney General Aaron Ford, who is seeking the Democratic gubernatorial nomination, said he does not personally believe athletes who identify as transgender should compete in women&#8217;s sports, but nevertheless opposes the ballot initiative, according to the <a href="https://thenevadaindependent.com/article/lombardo-to-lead-2026-ballot-initiative-to-keep-transgender-athletes-out-of-female-sports" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nevada Independent</a>.
“My faith teaches me that every person is a child of God and deserves to be treated with humanity, dignity, and respect,” the Democrat stated, according to the outlet. “And as Attorney General, I will continue defending the constitutional rights of every Nevadan.&#8221;
On December 23, Ford was listed on an amicus brief in a Minnesota case challenging a ban on transgender-identifying athletes. The <a href="https://oag.ca.gov/system/files/attachments/press-docs/FAUvEllison_StatesAmicusBrief_AsFiled.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">brief</a> states that &#8220;discrimination against transgender youth—including denying them the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities consistent with their gender identity—can have serious health consequences.&#8221;
<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrats-now-think-transgenderism-is-a-winning-issue-itll-be-put-to-the-test-in-2026" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a> reported that Ford signed onto a Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals amicus brief in 2023 regarding two minors who identified as transgender, and whether or not they could play on a girls&#8217; sports team in Arizona.
“Plaintiffs simply want to participate on their school’s girl’s sports teams with their friends,” the brief said.
“They have not experienced any of the physiological changes associated with male puberty and have no ascertainable competitive advantage over their cisgender peers,” it continued, saying that the plaintiffs identified as “girls in all aspects of their lives since an early age.”
He also signed on to a 2022 amicus brief challenging an Arkansas law on “gender-affirming treatment” for minors.
“We must protect our children from discriminatory laws that bar access to necessary, gender-affirming health care,” Ford stated in 2022. &#8220;Over and over again, evidence has shown that denying transgender youth access to gender-affirming care has a detrimental effect to their mental health and quality of life.”
The Daily Wire reached out to the Ford campaign. At the national level, the Supreme Court is scheduled to hear oral arguments on Tuesday in cases related to the issue.

Elon Musk took to X to announce he&#8217;s seeking full custody of his one-year-old son after the boy&#8217;s mother made pro-trans comments.
Musk shares his son, Romulus, with Ashley St. Clair, the formerly conservative influencer. St. Clair has changed her stance on transgenderism, prompting Musk to make his custody claim.
“I will be filing for full custody today, given her statements implying she might transition a one-year-old boy,” Musk said early Monday morning.
St. Clair didn&#8217;t indicate on X any plans to allow her son to transition, but instead apologized to anyone she may have hurt with her anti-transgender comments in the past.
&#8220;I feel immense guilt for my role. And even more guilt that things I have said in the past may have caused my son’s sister more pain,&#8221; St. Clair <a href="https://x.com/stclairashley/status/2010328765503586572?s=20">said</a>. &#8220;I have been trying incredibly hard privately to learn + advocate for those within the trans community that I’ve hurt.&#8221;
The &#8220;sister&#8221; she is referring to is Xavier, who goes by Vivian. He is one of Musk&#8217;s 14 children and recently started identifying as a girl.
&#8220;I also haven&#8217;t said much on this because I have gone back and forth over whether my voice would be helpful on the issue since it will be framed as disingenuous or just turning because I&#8217;m &#8216;scorned.&#8217; Even this reply will become right-wing hysteria but yeah I am sorry. Let me know how I can help,&#8221; St. Clair said.
St. Clair previously worked for the conservative satire outlet The Babylon Bee when she met Musk on X, per a New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/02/15/us-news/ashley-st-clair-who-claims-to-have-had-musks-13th-child-reveals-life-of-secrecy/">report</a>. She wrote a children&#8217;s book on identity called &#8220;Elephants Are Not Birds&#8221; and was routinely outspoken on social media about Left-leaning policies. St. Clair attended Trump&#8217;s inauguration last year. Since having her son with Musk, however, she has walked back some of her beliefs.
&#8220;Twitter was way better when it was woke tbh,&#8221; St. Clair posted as a jab to Musk, who purchased the social media platform and renamed it X.
According to the <a href="http://news/article-15456693/elon-musk-custody-child-mother-transition.html?utm_social_handle_id=15438913&amp;ns_mchannel=rss&amp;ns_campaign=1490&amp;utm_social_post_id=650092280&amp;ito=social-twitter_mailonline">Daily Mail,</a> St. Clair filed a lawsuit against Musk last February, claiming he told her to keep the baby a secret. She says Musk then cut off communication with her and her son during child support negotiations, which forced her to take legal action.
Musk is famously known for having many children with multiple partners. He has twins, Xavier and Griffin, and triplets, Kai, Saxon, and Damian, with his first wife, Justine Wilson. He has X, Exa, and Techno with singer Grimes. He has twins, Strider and Azure, along with Arcadia and Seldon, with Shivon Zilis. He shares Romulus with St. Clair.

It’s one thing for an adult to fight the good fight and entirely another for an eighth-grade girl to take a stand.
They say this case will affect laws in 27 states. But it’s already directly affected the life of one young girl in West Virginia.
Here she is in her own words. — Joel Kneedler

Eighth grade. The year when most girls are making core memories with friends and preparing for that exciting, albeit scary, transition to high school. But for me, that year was frustrating and uncomfortable.
As a young female athlete, I lost out on the opportunity to compete in West Virginia’s Mid-Mountain Championship track-and-field meet and had to endure sexually harassing comments from a male athlete who was allowed to join the girls’ team at my middle school.
Now, I’m 17 years old and eagerly looking to the U.S. Supreme Court as it hears — for the first time — why it should protect female athletes and affirm the biological reality that boys and girls are different.

The Court is considering two cases: <a href="https://adflegal.org/case/bpj-v-west-virginia-state-board-education/?utm_source=dailywire&amp;utm_medium=oped">one</a> being litigated by Attorney General JB McCuskey of my home state of West Virginia and <a href="https://adflegal.org/case/little-v-hecox/?utm_source=dailywire&amp;utm_medium=oped">another</a> led by Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador. Both states are joined by legal counsel from Alliance Defending Freedom, which has represented me in other cases. These states enacted laws to restore common sense, fairness, and safety in women’s sports. Shortly afterward, however, activists who believe that boys should be able to compete against girls challenged both laws. The lawsuit in my state was brought on behalf of the male athlete competing on my girls’ track-and-field team.
That athlete displaced 423 different girls 1,100 times and took 57 medals from them. Those young women will never get those opportunities back. And that’s just one athlete. Other girls and women across the country, from middle school to college to the Olympics, continue to tell their stories of bravely choosing to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-female-fencer-and-trans-supporting-usa-fencing-head-face-off-at-heated-doge-hearing">forfeit games</a> or matches in defense of biological truth. Until April 2023, I was in the top three on my team for discus in both seventh and eighth grade. I was usually in the top three or four for shot put as well. But that changed when the male started beating me.
It felt strange to be kicked out of my events because I had always gotten to compete before. I felt angry and discouraged that a male athlete took my spot. But I also felt like I couldn’t say anything about it. If I complained, I was made to feel like the problem for feeling uncomfortable and recognizing the unfairness. I felt like I had to suck it up and live with it. I felt unheard and unseen.
It’s extremely frustrating to know that no matter how hard I work, I will not be able to throw farther than the male athlete. Being excluded from a competition before it even begins is discouraging; I am obviously not as strong and athletic as most boys my age. It makes me so angry that I do not even have a chance to win. I want to scream, “Why am I even here?”
In fact, I’ve decided not to compete in track and field in high school because of the male athletes’ participation. 
It’s frustrating that I have to give up the sport I love — and excel at — because school officials have allowed males to compete with the girls. A male’s belief about his gender doesn’t erase the physical advantages over females.
Losing opportunities to compete at higher levels is very frustrating, but even worse was having to endure the athlete’s sexual, vulgar comments directed at me. Not to mention having to share a locker room. No girl should be forced to change in front of a boy or share such intimate spaces with the opposite sex.
In sports, biology matters. In life, it does too.
Gender ideology is full of lies that hurt real people. Believing that a male can erase physical differences with drugs impacts so much more than just girls’ sports. Women deserve their own spaces. Men don’t belong in women’s showers, restrooms, locker rooms, overnight school trips, prisons, or shelters.
All this weighs heavily on my heart, not just for me, but for my little sister, who is an incredible athlete.

It’s not true that a man can be a woman. If we want a society that respects women, we must accept that reality. Title IX was designed to guarantee equal opportunity for women. We can’t go backward. 
 
I may only be one voice from West Virginia, but I know I stand on the shoulders of trailblazers who have championed women’s rights for years. And today, I join a new chorus of women — we’re young and paying attention. We’re also grateful for this incredible opportunity to ask the Supreme Court to listen to our stories and allow states to defend biological reality, fairness, and female athletes.
