Texas voters were shocked in recent days to discover pamphlets in the mail guiding students on how to defy their families and receive life-altering gender procedures.
The brochure, which this reporter received in the mail, is marketed as a “TEXAS TRANS AND LGBTQ+ STUDENT RESOURCE GUIDE” and is addressed to “students” of the household. However, the source of the mailers remains unclear, and the timing around the midterm election has raised questions about their origins.

Inside, the brochure provides step-by-step instructions on how to navigate being transgender when lacking parental support.
“You deserve support even if your parents don’t understand or agree with you,” the mailer reads, adding that there are steps one can take “if you’re under 18.”
🚨 TEXAS PARENTS, HAVE YOU SEEN THESE IN YOUR MAILBOX?
Families across the state are reporting receiving a brochure titled “Texas Trans & LGBTQ+ Student Resource Guide.” Some reports say the mailings are even addressed to children.
But here’s where this story gets interesting.
The Transgender Education Network of Texas (TENT), an LGBTQ advocacy organization linked to the materials, says it DID NOT create, approve, or distribute these brochures. The organization believes someone may be impersonating it and others are suggesting this is all part of a political tactic to scare parents.
Questions left unanswered right now:
🔹 Who is actually sending these brochures?
🔹 Who paid to print and mail them?
🔹 How were families and children’s mailing addresses obtained?
🗳️ And let’s talk about the timing. These brochures are showing up around the start of EARLY VOTING in Texas, when LGBTQ-related issues are already part of the political conversation.
Is that timing a coincidence? We don’t know. And there’s currently no verified evidence connecting the mailings to a political campaign.
Have you received one of these at your home? If so, what part of Texas are you in?

It also directs minors on how “to be emancipated” from their parents and explains how transgender children can receive hormones or sex change surgeries.

“You don’t need to have everything figured out. You don’t have to know whether you’re definitely trans. You don’t have to decide about hormones or surgery right now. You don’t have to convince your parents,” the guide states.
“Your job right now is to stay safe, find people who will listen to you, and give yourself time to figure out who you are,” the pamphlet adds. “There are other kids in Texas going through this too — and there are adults whose actual job is to help you. Even if your family doesn’t accept you as you are, groups like these are ready to become your found family.”

The Transgender Education Network of Texas (TENT), whose name is on the flyers, said in a statement on Saturday that similar text messages sent to voters and the “mailers were not authored, authorized, approved, or distributed” by them “and are not affiliated with our organization.”
“We will continue to monitor the situation and remain committed to our organizational values of unequivocal support for trans Texas, their families, and their loved ones. Trans Texans belong here, this is our home and we’re not going anywhere,” the organization said.
The brochures also advertised a “Trans Texas Takeover” tour targeting transgender students, with the exact dates and locations TENT has advertised on its Instagram page.
The transgender issue has become a major part of the Senate race between Democrat James Talarico and Republican Ken Paxton. Talarico’s Senate campaign has faced backlash over the candidate’s promotion of transgender ideology. In the past, Talarico said that “God is non-binary” and claimed that there are six genders.
In 2023, the state rep voted against a proposal that protected children from transgender surgeries and cross-sex hormone procedures. An undercover video reported by The Daily Wire last month showed Talarico saying that “the way I fought for trans kids in the legislature is how I will fight for them in the U.S. Senate” and that “my position hasn’t changed.”
When asked one thing he loved other than his family and friends in a May 2023 interview, Talarico said “trans children.”
During a CNN town hall last week, Talarico attempted to walk back some of his position, claiming that he would support a national ban on transgender surgeries for kids.
