Florida Congressman Randy Fine and Texas Rep. Keith Self on Friday introduced legislation that would ensure that Sharia law cannot be implemented anywhere in the United States.
The “No Shari’a Act” would prohibit the application of Sharia “where such application would violate constitutional rights,” according to a copy of the legislation shared with The Daily Wire. Both Fine and Self said that the measure was intended to protect Western culture and ensure that the United States would not be taken over by Islamic radicals. 
“We are not going to become a Muslim nation. There are plenty out there,” Fine told The Daily Wire. “If you want to live under Sharia, return to where you came from, but we’re not interested in you coming here and conquering our country.”
Self said the influence of Shariah was already present in Texas. 
“We cannot have sets of laws,” he told The Daily Wire. “There is one in the United States. It&#8217;s called the U.S. Constitution and the state laws under states of course, but we cannot have two different civilizations with different laws.”
The issue came to a head in Texas with controversy over the planned EPIC City development outside Dallas that was intended to be a Muslim community. Critics worried that the development would implement Sharia.
The legislation says that the “the Constitution of the United States is and must remain the supreme law of the land, and no foreign law or legal system may be permitted to undermine it” and that “no court shall enforce a judgment, decree, or arbitration decision if it relies, in whole or in part, on Shari’a or any foreign law that violates the constitutional rights of any party.”
Fine referenced the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/muslim-mayor-in-dearborn-michigan-tells-christian-resident-you-are-not-welcome-here">recent confrontation</a> in Dearborn, Michigan, where a Christian resident was told he was not welcome in the city by Muslim Mayor Abdullah Hammoud after he spoke out in opposition to naming a street after Arab American publisher Osama Siblani.
“We do not want to replicate this barbaric Middle Age philosophy in this country, and we need to make that clear, this is not welcome in the United States,” Fine said. “We need to respond to the Islamists saying Christians are not welcome in Dearborn by saying, no, you are not welcome here.”
Self said that Sharia allows for child marriages, husbands to beat their wives, honor killings, and genital mutilation. He said these practices were “not compatible with U.S. law, U.S. Constitution, and our civilization.”

As Democrats protest the Trump administration’s illegal immigration crackdown, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) continues to arrest illegal aliens convicted of crimes, including sexual offenses against children and vehicular homicide. 
Illegal aliens picked up by ICE across the country on Thursday included those convicted of robbery, kidnapping, and sexual indecency with a child, the Department of Homeland Security told The Daily Wire. Those arrests happened as Democratic officials attempted to storm the holding cells of illegal aliens in New York City. 
“Yesterday, while Democrat lawmakers were obstructing law enforcement at Federal 26 Plaza, ICE law enforcement officers were arresting more pedophiles, child abusers, and kidnappers. Nothing will slow ICE down from removing criminal illegal aliens who are terrorizing American communities,” Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told The Daily Wire. 
One of those nabbed by federal immigration officials on Thursday was a 42-year-old illegal alien from Mexico named Armando Vasquez-Gonzalez, who was convicted of sexual indecency with a child in Hays County, Texas. Hays County is located between San Antonio and Austin. 
Federal officials also arrested Nery Garcia-Linares, a 32-year-old criminal illegal alien from Guatemala, who was convicted of endangering the welfare of a four-year-old child through sexual conduct in Trenton, New Jersey.

Jefferson Caisahuana-Torres, a criminal illegal alien from Peru convicted of felony injury to a child in Idaho, was also nabbed by ICE. Caisahuana-Torres was originally <a href="https://www.mtexpress.com/news/cops_courts/bonneville-county-man-charged-in-ketchum-rape-case/article_c7675db4-e8b2-11ef-aba0-5b734f40d741.html">charged</a> with rape of a 16-year-old girl. 
Authorities also arrested Edgar Benitez-Martinez, an illegal alien from Mexico convicted of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated in Santa Clara County, California, and Souraphong Senethong, an illegal alien from Laos, convicted of robbery and kidnapping in King County, Washington.

“DHS applauds the heroic work of the brave men and women of ICE who are securing our nation and restoring the rule of law for our American citizens,” said McLaughlin. 
As these arrests were happening across the country, nearly a dozen Democrat lawmakers were arrested after they engaged in an hour-long standoff with federal officers at an ICE facility at 26 Federal Plaza. Nearly 60 Democrats on Friday voted against a resolution from House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) to honor conservative commentator Charlie Kirk and condemn all political violence. 
The resolution, which denounced the assassination of Kirk in Utah last week, <a href="https://clerk.house.gov/Votes/2025282">passed</a> the House with a 310-58 vote. All Republicans and 95 Democrats voted in favor, while 58 Democrats voted against it and 38 voted present. 
Johnson’s resolution “honors the life, leadership, and legacy of Charlie Kirk, whose steadfast dedication to the Constitution, civil discourse, and Biblical truth inspired a generation to cherish and defend the blessings of liberty.”
It also calls upon “all Americans — regardless of race, party affiliation, or creed — to reject political violence, recommit to respectful debate, uphold American values, and respect one another as fellow Americans.”
In a speech, Johnson <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/democrats-oppose-resolution-honoring-charlie-kirk-condemning-political-rcna232150">said</a> that after political debates, Kirk would “reach out a hand of friendship or offer an arm around the shoulder of someone who he had just defeated in a contest.”
“Why? Because it wasn’t about winning … the policy arguments. It was about the people,” he said. “And Charlie loved vigorous debate, but he loved people more.”
Prominent Democrats who voted against the resolution included Reps. Jasmine Crockett (Texas), Pramila Jayapal (Washington), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (New York), Rashida Tlaib (Michigan), and Ilhan Omar (Minnesota). 
During debate on the floor, Ocasio-Cortez attacked Kirk over his political views, labeling him a racist. 
“His rhetoric and beliefs were ignorant and sought to disenfranchise millions of Americans — far from ‘working tirelessly to promote unity’ as asserted by the majority in this resolution,” she <a href="https://x.com/AOC/status/1969074559602110509">wrote</a> on X. “We can condemn his horrific assassination and the scourge of political violence without uplifting these ideas.”
House Democrat leadership agreed Thursday that they would vote in support of Johnson’s resolution.
Earlier this year, a <a href="https://clerk.house.gov/Votes/2025179?RollCallNum=179&amp;BillNum=H.RES.519" target="_blank" rel="noopener">resolution</a> to condemn the assassination of Democratic Minnesota House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband passed unanimously, with all Republicans voting in support.

A memorial service for Kirk is set for Sunday in Glendale, Arizona, that will feature remarks from President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and other administration officials.

Leaders of a Native American tribe fighting to close the Florida illegal alien detention center dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz” have batted down numerous allegations of domestic violence over the years as the tribe receives tens of millions in taxpayer dollars. 
The chair, treasurer, and a top adviser of the Miccosukee Tribe have all faced domestic violence charges over the past 30 years, according to a <a href="https://www.scribd.com/document/919568169/Miccosukee-Research-Report">new report</a> from the American Accountability Foundation. These allegations have ranged from misdemeanor battery to felony battery of a pregnant woman.
The tribe has also been plagued by kidnapping accusations and battles with the IRS, according to the American Accountability Foundation.
“While the Miccosukee Tribe wages a legal battle against Alligator Alcatraz, hoping to manufacture outrage, what they really want is to distract from their own sinister record,” American Accountability Foundation President Tom Jones told The Daily Wire.
“There’s a bleak history here: leadership tangled in a newborn baby abduction, repeated beatings on women, and a brazen refusal to pay federal taxes. The tribe’s latest public stunt is not about justice; it’s a smokescreen to keep Americans from asking tough questions about their dark trail of corruption and crime.”
The tribe grabbed headlines after it joined several environmental groups in a suit against Florida and the Trump administration over Alligator Alcatraz. A judge ordered the detention facility shut down, but a federal appeals court <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/court-allows-floridas-alligator-alcatraz-to-remain-open-for-business">ruled</a> earlier this month that the detention center can remain open.
The lower court decision led to a glowing ABC News <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/meet-native-american-tribe-beat-trump-administration-court/story?id=124390445">profile</a> of the tribe, featuring extensive quotations from Curtis Osceola, a senior executive policy adviser to Miccosukee Tribe Chairman Talbert Cypress, according to the outlet.
“It was a roar of applause,” Osceola told ABC. “Everyone was very, very pleased that the judge granted the temporary restraining order.”
What ABC didn’t mention was that Osceola was arrested in January for battery and resisting law enforcement. 
Osceola was <a href="https://www2.miamidadeclerk.gov/cjis/casesearchinfo?qs=uoPdDVfJ6VMN48qmP0TsQnjuu9wkKVhyRLqjSBlqbLEXqsKBP0h9fVJQJw0l426D">booked</a> on January 24 after a woman called police, and they responded to his residence in Doral, Florida. According to police, Osceola answered the door with blood on his face. This blood appears to be visible on his mugshot.

After police went into Osceola’s home to check on the status of the female caller, a woman identified as his girlfriend alleged that he slapped her amid an ongoing dispute about his divorce from his wife. Police <a href="https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/charges-dropped-for-miami-dade-chief-resilience-officer-after-allegedly-slapping-girlfriend/3551789/#:~:text=Osceola%20is%20a%20lawyer%2C%20was,build%20public%20support%20for%20projects">said</a> that “there were various signs of a disturbance inside the residence including a broken glass on the floor.”
Osceola later <a href="https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/environment/climate-change/article300728254.html">claimed</a> the incident resulted from his girlfriend’s “adverse reaction to prescription medication.” 
The charges were dropped about a month after the arrest — but not after Osceola lost his role as Miami-Dade County’s chief resilience officer. 
“While I have been cleared of all wrongdoing by the state attorney’s office and all charges against me have been dropped—in the court of public opinion, things are different. It is for this reason, among others, that the Mayor’s office has decided to rescind their offer to me to lead the Office of Resilience as its Chief,” he said in a statement. 
Prosecutors gave a different explanation. The office of Miami-Dade State Attorney said that the charges were dropped due to “the victim indicating that she had no recall of the incident and therefore that she was unwilling to cooperate in the prosecution of the case.”
Other tribal leaders have also been arrested on domestic violence charges. 
Talbert Cypress, the chair of the tribe, was <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/2vtj1wb15626ycn75w6wo/Talbert-Henry-Battery.pdf?rlkey=2cik55bigok9kzuigofd9xl27&amp;e=1&amp;st=0ze6y1w0&amp;dl=0">charged</a> with battery in 2006. Court records indicate that he ended up going through a pretrial diversion program. Another key tribal official, Kenneth Cypress, was <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/gcl5mmkxvcigsen2gvyrn/Felony-Kenneth-Cypress.pdf?rlkey=fhr4n4gz5u0yvi09mnmo0dzjc&amp;e=1&amp;st=wa2bbilc&amp;dl=0">charged</a> in 1995 with battery of a pregnant woman and disorderly intoxication. There ended up being no action taken on the arrest, according to court records. He is currently the treasurer for the Miccosukee Tribe’s Business Council.
Talbert was quoted by the media in opposition to Alligator Alcatraz, saying that the tribe “will always stand up for our culture, our sovereignty, and for the Everglades.”
The Miccosukee Tribe has been involved in numerous other legal controversies, including a 2018 incident where the tribal authorities <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/family-newborn-birth-sues-hospital-native-american-tribe/story?id=54446512">took</a> the child of a Miccosukee woman and a white man from a Miami hospital. The parents accused the tribe of kidnapping their child after the grandmother of the child obtained an emergency order giving her custody. The grandmother claimed that the father would abuse the child, a claim both parents disputed. 
After a lengthy legal battle and calls from lawmakers, including then-Florida Senator Marco Rubio, to return the child, the parents regained custody of their daughter.
The grandmother at the center of the case, Betty Osceola, has <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DOTh9eiE25G/">organized</a> vigils in protest of Alligator Alcatraz. It is unclear if she is related to Curtis Osceola, the embattled tribal adviser.
As the tribe weathered all of these incidents, it was heavily funded by the federal government.
Since 2008, the tribe has taken in around $233 million in federal funding, according to an <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/e9j83kjkavxq6gx0w8chd/Miccosukee-USA-Spending.xlsx?rlkey=qzvgfkannnj36z06zdc5hbh9w&amp;e=1&amp;st=ua6yv7md&amp;dl=0">analysis</a> from the American Accountability Foundation. This includes over $100 million from the Department of the Interior and $50 million from the Department of Health and Human Services.

Even as the tribe cashed hefty checks from the government, judges have ruled that it has been delinquent in paying its taxes. In 2018, a court <a href="https://apnews.com/general-news-804c66272d1949de894f8f9d41c9f241">ruling</a> opened up the tribe to being on the hook for more than $1 billion in unpaid taxes after a judge ruled that casino profits were taxable income. As of 2021, each tribal member reportedly receives $160,000 annually in casino profits, according to court documents. 
The American Accountability Foundation said that the “controversial tribe should cease to be funded by taxpayers as they continue to skirt taxes and hamper the Trump Administration’s immigration enforcement.”
The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals sided <a href="https://www.taxnotes.com/research/federal/court-documents/court-opinions-and-orders/eleventh-circuit-affirms-payments-tribe-members-were-taxable/3th40">against</a> the tribe in 2021 after it appealed the decision, saying that it “encouraged members to hide their payments from the IRS.”
“The taxpayers here followed the Tribe&#8217;s advice, and they are now subject to hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax deficiencies. They offer various reasons why they do not owe taxes on these payments,” the majority wrote. “One assertion is that any taxes are barred by a statute that exempted an earlier land transfer from taxation; another is that the payments are merely non-taxable lease payments from the casino. Unfortunately for these Tribe members, the payments are just income — taxable income. That means we affirm.”
Four years later, the same court ruled against the tribe after it attempted to shut down Alligator Alcatraz. 
The judges <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.ca11.92709/gov.uscourts.ca11.92709.42.1.pdf">ruled</a> that a lawsuit brought by environmental groups and the tribe “failed to state a viable claim” that Florida and the Department of Homeland Security violated federal environmental laws. The decision was celebrated by Republicans in Florida, including Governor Ron DeSantis, who promised to open up similar detention centers across the state. 
As of last week, the Department of Homeland Security <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-dhs-reveals-the-worst-of-the-worst-illegals-in-alligator-alcatraz">told</a> The Daily Wire that Alligator Alcatraz was still holding a variety of illegals, including those convicted of drug trafficking, murder, and sexual offenses targeting children.
“Despite repeated hoaxes peddled by the media and activist judges, Alligator Alcatraz is still open and housing some of the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens, including murderers, pedophiles, weapon traffickers, and drug dealers until they are swiftly removed from our country,” said Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

Leaders Of Indian Tribe Fighting Alligator Alcatraz Have History Of Domestic Violence Arrests

The Senate on Thursday voted to commemorate Charlie Kirk and honor the assassinated conservative commentator by promoting civic engagement. 
The <a href="https://www.rickscott.senate.gov/services/files/55A19212-1EC1-4868-A72B-8E271E2D81B2">resolution</a> designates October 14, Kirk’s birthday, as the “National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk” and calls for Americans to remember his legacy. It was introduced by Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) and co-sponsored by nearly two dozen other Republicans, passing by unanimous consent and a voice vote.
The motion “recognizes Charlie Kirk for his contribution to civic education and public service” and “encourages educational institutions, civic organizations, and citizens across the United States to observe this day with appropriate programs, activities, prayers, and ceremonies that promote civic engagement and the principles of faith, liberty, and democracy that Charlie Kirk championed.”
The move was largely ceremonial and doesn’t have the same impact as a law.
“Charlie was a good man — a devout husband, father, and friend. His life was shaped by his faith and the idea that in America, debate and discussion are crucial to the betterment of our country,” Scott <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vyCdknj8V0">said</a> from the Senate floor. “He believed in God, the American dream, the value of family, and the principles of our great nation.”
“Charlie was never afraid to have a discussion. He didn’t care if you agreed or disagreed with his ideas. He welcomed the opportunity to respectfully and peacefully debate ideas in the court of public opinion,” Scott added. 
A similar House resolution to honor Kirk caused division among Democrats. After a meeting on Thursday, Democratic House leadership agreed to vote in favor of a resolution from House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) that recognizes Kirk and condemns all political violence.

With the backing of the Trump administration, Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) put forth new legislation on Thursday that would protect children across the country from “irreversible chemical and surgical mutilation” through transgender procedures, according to a copy of the bill obtained by The Daily Wire. 
Named after prominent <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/i-went-through-this-as-a-child-chloe-cole-praises-supreme-court-ruling-against-transgender-drugs">detransitioner</a> Chloe Cole, the <a href="https://www.blackburn.senate.gov/services/files/206AFD7F-2470-4E86-926B-17EDB5F7476A">bill</a> would ban doctors from doing transgender surgical procedures such as removing the breasts of girls who identify as boys or various types of genital mutilation. It would also protect children who identify as transgender from being put on puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones. 
“No child should be pushed into irreversible chemical and surgical mutilation under the guise of so-called ‘gender-affirming care,’” Blackburn told The Daily Wire. “The Chloe Cole Act would put a stop to this barbaric abuse of children and give those who have suffered the consequences of these harmful procedures the chance to fight back.”
At the age of 15, Cole underwent a double mastectomy while experiencing extreme confusion about her gender. She has since come to regret undergoing transgender procedures and has become a vocal advocate to protect kids from the life-altering treatments. 
Republican Senators Eric Schmitt (MO), Tim Sheehy (MT), and Rick Scott (FL) also signed onto the legislation.  
Rep. Bob Onder (R-MO) introduced the companion measure in the House. 
“As a member of Congress, a doctor, a parent, and an American, I am committed to protecting our nation’s children,” he said. “That’s why I am proud to introduce the Chloe Cole Act, a landmark bill that will put a permanent stop to one of the most dangerous and barbaric medical procedures in modern history.”
Between 2019 and 2023, transgender surgeries were <a href="https://donoharmmedicine.org/2024/10/08/stop-the-harm-national-database-child-trans-industry/">done</a> on 5,747 kids, 13,994 were given sex change treatments, and 8,579 kids were put on puberty blockers. 
The Chloe Cole Act would also allow kids to sue any hospital, clinic, or medical professional who participated in putting them on transgender procedures. 
The legislation is backed by the Justice Department, which <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-admin-backs-nationwide-push-to-protect-kids-from-transgender-procedures?author=Leif+Le+Mahieu&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Trump+Admin+Backs+Nationwide+Push+To+Protect+Kids+From+Transgender+Procedures">announced</a> its support for the measure earlier this month. 
“The Department of Justice has heard from far too many families who have been devastated by mutilative medical procedures that fly in the face of basic biology,” said Attorney General Pam Bondi. “While we continue our ongoing legal battle to protect children, we appreciate Senator Marsha Blackburn and Congressman Bob Onder who are working diligently alongside us to end these abusive procedures once and for all.”
Organizations like the American Principles Project and Independent Women have also endorsed the proposal. Over two dozen states have already taken action to protect kids from transgender procedures at the state level.

A coalition of conservative activists is urging Congress to reinstate a ban on one of the “swampiest” practices used by lawmakers in the nation’s capital. 
Led by the organization Advancing American Freedom, 24 conservative advocates sent a letter to every member of Congress on Wednesday asking them to reinstate a ban on earmarks as they consider government funding for the next fiscal year. Earmarks are provisions inserted into appropriations bills by lawmakers to allocate taxpayer dollars to a particular project or entity they want to fund. 
“As the United States Congress proceeds with Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 appropriations, many of your colleagues will once again seek to direct taxpayer dollars to their favorite pet projects through earmarks, one of the swampiest features of policymaking in Washington, D.C.,” wrote Advancing American Freedom President Tim Chapman in a <a href="https://dw-wp-production.imgix.net/2025/09/AAF-Earmark-Coalition-Letter-9.17-24.pdf">letter</a> obtained by The Daily Wire. 
The letter says that earmarked funds from fiscal year 2024 went toward leftist projects, including “abortion centers, transgender indoctrination, radical climate activism, and entities engaged in crass antisemitism.”
An appropriations bill is currently making its way through the House with a September 30 deadline before the previous funding bill expires. The current House bill is a seven-week continuing resolution, meaning that spending would continue at previous approved levels. 
Chapman and the other signatories want Congress to reinstate a ban on earmarks that Congress agreed to in 2011 that lasted until around 2021. 
“Historically, conservatives recognized the problem with using earmarks to lure legislators into supporting reckless budget agreements,” the letter said. “For good reason, the House Republican Conference prohibited earmarks for more than a decade. In fact, earmarks were so broadly unpopular that President Obama committed to vetoing any bill containing earmarks, and former Speaker Pelosi refrained from reinstating the practice for the first two years of her tenure.”
Other signatories of the letter included Eagle Forum President Kristen Ullman, Open the Books CEO John Hart, Students for Life Action Government Affairs Coordinator Savanna Deretich, and former Virginia Representative Bob Good. 
“In the 2024 elections, voters delivered a clear mandate to Republicans to overturn a broken status quo, granting them a federal trifecta,” they wrote. 
Earmarks in the past have sent millions of dollars <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/report-congress-secures-16-billion-in-earmark-funding-for-local-pet-projects">towards projects</a> such as the American LGBTQ+ Museum, the  “National Great Blacks in Wax” museum, and the Universal Hip Hop Museum.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris wanted to pick then-Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg as her running mate in 2024, but decided against it because she wasn’t “a straight white man,” according to an excerpt from her new book. 
In portions of her new memoir <a href="https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2025/09/kamala-harris-running-mate-pete-buttigieg/684249/">published</a> by The Atlantic on Wednesday, Harris wrote that the openly gay Buttigieg was her “first choice” for her vice presidential running mate. However, she said she felt that a ticket with Buttigieg would present a level of diversity America wasn’t ready to embrace.
Harris wrote that Buttigieg “would have been an ideal partner—if I were a straight white man.”
“But we were already asking a lot of America: to accept a woman, a Black woman, a Black woman married to a Jewish man. Part of me wanted to say, Screw it, let’s just do it. But knowing what was at stake, it was too big of a risk,” Harris wrote. “And I think Pete also knew that—to our mutual sadness.”
Harris’s book, called “107 Days,” is set to be released on September 23.
Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, was Biden’s transportation secretary. He is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/buttigieg-to-pass-on-senate-run-as-he-eyes-white-house-in-2028-report">reportedly</a> considering a run for president in 2028. Earlier this year, he opted not to run for the U.S. Senate in Michigan, reportedly to position himself better for a run for the White House. 
Harris wrote that Buttigieg “is a sincere public servant with the rare talent of being able to frame liberal arguments in a way that makes it possible for conservatives to hear them.”
In the end, Harris chose Minnesota Democratic Governor Tim Walz as her running mate. 
The first portions of her book, released earlier this month, Harris <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kamala-turns-on-biden-in-first-excerpt-from-new-memoir-it-was-recklessness">attacked</a> former President Joe Biden, claiming his re-election bid was driven by ego and that his team actively sought to undermine her.
“Was it grace, or was it recklessness? In retrospect, I think it was recklessness,” she wrote of Biden’s decision to run for re-election. “The stakes were simply too high. This wasn’t a choice that should have been left to an individual’s ego, an individual’s ambition. It should have been more than a personal decision.”

Sinclair, one of the largest broadcast companies in the United States, said Wednesday night that it would air a special tribute to Charlie Kirk this Friday in the late-night time slot that Jimmy Kimmel’s show had occupied. 
The announcement came after ABC pulled Kimmel off the air in response to remarks he made about the recent assassination of Kirk in Utah last week. Kimmel’s preemption came just hours after FCC Chair Brendan Carr warned that his agency could take action against ABC affiliates airing Kimmel’s remarks, arguing they failed to serve the public interest.
“Sinclair’s ABC stations will air a special in remembrance of Charlie Kirk this Friday, during the Jimmy Kimmel Live! Timeslot,” the broadcasting company <a href="https://x.com/WeAreSinclair/status/1968471160359645658">said</a>. “The special will also air across all Sinclair stations this weekend. In addition, Sinclair is offering the special to all ABC affiliates across the country.”
Sinclair is the largest ABC affiliate group in the country and plans to keep the suspension in place until it has further talks with ABC. It has ABC affiliates in several cities, including Washington, D.C., Seattle, and Tulsa.
“Sinclair will not lift the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! on our stations until formal discussions are held with ABC regarding the network’s commitment to professionalism and accountability. Sinclair also called upon Mr. Kimmel to issue a direct apology to the Kirk family. Furthermore, Sinclair asks Mr. Kimmel to make a meaningful personal donation to the Kirk Family and Turning Point USA,” the company said. 
ABC’s preemption of Kimmel’s show came as Nexstar, another major ABC affiliate owner, declared it would remove the program from its schedule following the host’s remarks about Kirk.
The comments from Kimmel that prompted the backlash included the host claiming that Kirk&#8217;s assassin was a Donald Trump supporter. Investigators say that the 22-year-old man arrested for Kirk’s killing was deeply steeped in leftist ideology and disliked the conservative commentator for his beliefs.
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” <a href="https://x.com/newsbusters/status/1967982924986487284">said</a> Kimmel.
Carr praised both Sinclair and Nexstar for their decisions to stop broadcasting Kimmel’s show.
&#8220;Broadcasters have long retained the right to not air national programs that they believe are inconsistent with the public interest, including their local communities’ values,&#8221; Carr said Thursday. &#8220;I am glad to see that many broadcasters are responding to their viewers as intended.&#8221;
Democrats have criticized ABC&#8217;s decision to remove Kimmel from the air, arguing it constitutes an attack on &#8220;free speech.&#8221;
&#8220;America is meant to be a bastion of free speech. Everybody across the political spectrum should be speaking out to stop what’s happening to Jimmy Kimmel. This is about protecting democracy,&#8221; said Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY).

A suspect is on the run after a car slammed into the gates of the Pittsburgh FBI office early Wednesday morning in what officials described as an “act of terror.” 
The FBI is searching for a man named Donald Henson, who authorities say crashed his vehicle into the main entrance fence at around 2:40 a.m. FBI Pittsburgh Assistant Special Agent in charge Christopher Giordano said that Henson is “dangerous” and has a history of mental health issues. 
&#8220;We look at this as an act of terror against the FBI,&#8221; Giordano <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/video/suspect-sought-after-carrams-fence-fbi-office-pittsburgh-125652585">said</a>. &#8220;This was a targeted attack on this building. Thankfully no one was hurt.”
Giordano said that Henson exited the car after the collision and draped an American flag over the gates before leaving on foot. He said that officials believed he was a former member of the U.S. military. 
“We don’t have any indication that he is armed. We do believe that there is a mental health problem and a history of mental health issues with the subject so we would consider him dangerous,” he said. “We just have no reason to believe right now, from here, that he had a weapon.” 
Giordano added that Henson had previously made an incoherent complaint to the FBI, which didn’t result in any federal action. 
&#8220;In scouring our indexes, we did find that he visited the field office a couple of weeks ago to make a complaint that didn&#8217;t make a whole lot of sense,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We ran down everything that he came down with. It didn&#8217;t have a federal nexus. We contacted him to let him know there wasn&#8217;t a federal offense that we were able to charge.&#8221;
Witnesses <a href="https://www.wtae.com/article/im-blown-away-right-now-witnesses-describe-crash-into-fbi-building-gate-in-pittsburgh/66136309">said</a> that the man exited the crashed vehicle, shouted, and fled.
“He got out and went around the passenger side and pulled something out of the passenger side. I thought it was a gun but it happened to be a flag and he just set it on that fence and started yelling out some words and just took off,” Nakeisha Brown told a local ABC News affiliate. 
Authorities say anyone who spots Henson should call the FBI or their local police department. The suspect is from Penn Hills, a township located approximately 12 miles from Pittsburgh.

The Trump administration is backing four Republican proposals that would bring law and order to Washington, D.C., according to an official White House document obtained by The Daily Wire. 
The proposals for law enforcement in the nation’s capital range from tightening up sentencing guidelines for youth offenders to freeing up police from bureaucratic restrictions, according to an official <a href="https://dw-wp-production.imgix.net/2025/09/SAP-DC-Bills-9.16.25.pdf">statement of policy</a> released Tuesday by the Office of Management and Budget. In recent weeks, crime has dropped in D.C. after President Donald Trump surged federal law enforcement to the district to crack down on the rampant crime that has long plagued the Democrat-controlled city. 
The statement from the Office of Management and Budget says that the bills would “advance the President’s law and order agenda in Washington, D.C. Citizens, tourists, and visitors are no longer afraid to dine and enjoy the scenery of America’s Federal city. By enacting these bills, criminals will be held accountable and police officers will be empowered with the resources necessary to ensure safety.”
The first bill referenced in the document is the DC CRIMES Act. This bill, sponsored by Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), would decrease the maximum age that a criminal could be sentenced as a youth offender from 24 to 18. It would also mandate that the attorney general of D.C. establish a publicly accessible portal tracking juvenile crime, and it would block the D.C. council from enacting changes to criminal liability sentencing guidelines. 
The second bill, the District of Columbia Juvenile Sentencing Reform Act, was introduced by Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) and would allow those 14 and older to be charged as adults for violent crimes like armed robbery and murder. 
“This bill would be a critical step to bring more accountability in a city where more than fifty percent of carjackings are committed by minors,” the Office of Management and Budget said. 
The third bill, introduced by Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA), called the District of Columbia Policing Protection Act, would allow police officers in the district to chase after criminals who flee by car. Current policies in D.C. ban police from chasing after most criminals suspected of non-violent offenses. 
“These unnecessary restrictions ensure that many criminals get away without punishment and police officers are unable to perform their duties to protect the public. This bill would change that policy and allow officers to pursue any suspect by motor vehicle if they deem it necessary and the most effective means to capture the suspect,” the Trump administration wrote. 
The fourth bill would give Trump the ability to nominate judges for the district at his own discretion rather than from a list provided by “radical left-wing commissioners.” Named the District of Columbia Judicial Nominations Reform Act, the bill was introduced by Reps. Higgins and Pete Sessions (R-TX). 
“After the President’s successful efforts to quell crime and enforce law and order in the Federal capital, it is time to enhance these efforts by enacting these bills into law,” the Trump administration said.

Congressional lawmakers will be warned on Tuesday about hospitals that may be promoting left-wing activism under the guise of benefiting their communities. 
The House Ways and Means Committee will meet to examine how tax-exempt hospitals have pushed diversity, equity, and inclusion, climate activism, and radical gender ideology. The hearing will focus on nonprofit hospitals that have spent money on political activities critics say have no community benefit. To keep their tax-exempt status, nonprofit hospitals must commit to providing a community benefit through charity and other initiatives. 
One of those who will testify before lawmakers is Will Hild, the executive director of Consumers’ Research, a watchdog organization that has launched numerous public awareness campaigns about the politicization of medicine. Hild will urge lawmakers to consider ways to require nonprofit hospitals to be more transparent about how they spend their money and how much their procedures cost. 
“Are programs that push a specific, left-wing political agenda being claimed as a community benefit? Without clear reporting requirements, Members of Congress and taxpayers cannot be sure what hospitals are using tax dollars to fund,” Hild will say,  according to a copy of his written testimony obtained by The Daily Wire. 
“This misprioritization of politics over patients distracts hospitals from their core mission and can compromise the quality of treatment and increase costs, which can put consumers in serious physical and financial danger,” he will add. 
Hild’s testimony also says that many hospitals have used the language of “community benefit” to cloak “partisan political activity.”  He will ask Congress to “require line-item disclosure and outcome measures for any equity spending that is claimed as community benefit.”
Much of Hild’s testimony will draw from a <a href="https://consumersresearch.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/CW_Woke-Hospitals-Report-Final.pdf">June report</a> published by Consumers’ Research, highlighting “woke hospitals.” The hospitals in question included the Cleveland Clinic, Vanderbilt University Medical Clinic, Henry Ford Health, Memorial Hermann Health System, and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. 
“Our research highlighting nonprofit health systems promoting a political agenda is particularly alarming given their eligibility for millions of dollars in federal funding, and government-mandated savings programs in addition to the core benefit of tax-exempt status,” Hild’s testimony states. “This means taxpayers are often left footing the bill for hospitals’ political activism. American taxpayers are entitled to increased transparency and assurance that hospitals are using their money judiciously and that requirements such as community benefit are legitimately being met.”
The June report highlighted various DEI programs at the various hospitals. For example, the Cleveland Clinic <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20250124192742/https:/my.clevelandclinic.org/about/community/diversity/student-resources#diversity-pipeline-talent-management-tab">created</a>  “diversity pipeline talent management,” while Vanderbilt University Medical Clinic <a href="https://archive.ph/YAzMN">hosted</a> a lecture on “infusing DEI in our research programs.” 
In terms of climate activism, the report highlighted Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20230616202702/https:/www.vanderbilt.edu/sustainability/2023/06/philips-and-vanderbilt-university-medical-center-unite-to-define-roadmap-for-decarbonizing-radiology/">initiative</a> aimed at “decarbonizing radiology” and the Cleveland Clinic’s <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20250214113325/https:/consultqd.clevelandclinic.org/how-cleveland-clinic-is-greening-its-operating-rooms">goal</a> of “greening its operating rooms.”
Several of the hospital systems have also pushed transgender procedures on children. For example, Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital <a href="https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/center-transgender-health/services-appointments/children-adolescents-and-young-adults">offers</a> cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers for children. From its official X account, Henry Ford Health, <a href="https://x.com/HenryFordHealth/status/1377244880636891144">said</a> that teens should be “allowed to transition” or their mental health would be harmed. 
Multiple of the hospital systems targeted by Consumers’ Research have rejected claims that they have pushed ideology. 
In a statement to The Daily Wire, Henry Ford Health said that it “respects and fully complies with all state and federal anti-discrimination laws. For more than a century, Henry Ford Health has been fully committed to serving Michigan&#8217;s richly diverse communities, providing health care services and employment opportunities to everyone. Our commitment to non-discrimination remains steadfast.”
The Cleveland Clinic also told The Daily Wire that it “is compliant with all state and federal laws and firmly refutes the numerous false and intentionally misleading assertions made by Consumers&#8217; Research. As a nonpartisan organization, Cleveland Clinic neither holds nor promotes any political agenda.”
The clinic said that its community benefit donations totaled $1.46 billion in 2023.
Memorial Hermann Health System also said that it followed all federal and state guidelines. 
“The testimony references information that is factually inaccurate and does not reflect Memorial Hermann’s commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care that provides high quality outcomes to all we serve,&#8221; the hospital said. &#8220;We do not discriminate based on race, gender, or any other characteristics, and we abide by all ethical and legal standards of care. We are equally committed to ensuring our policies comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.&#8221;
It said that its community benefit in 2024 was around $480 million and went toward things like charity care, neighborhood clinics, air ambulance services, medical training for future physicians, and brain trauma research.
