CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin admitted on cable news airwaves Wednesday that Democrats have &#8220;a problem&#8221; because their two &#8220;witnesses&#8221; have never had any direct contact with the president and are merely relying on hearsay.
&#8220;That&#8217;s a problem if you&#8217;re going to impeach the president,&#8221; Toobin conceded, while speaking with CNN host Jake Tapper following the hearing.
Both witnesses who testified before the House Intelligence Committee, Acting U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian affairs George Kent, have never had any direct contact with President Donald Trump. In other words, neither of the witnesses actually witnessed anything.
As reported by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/impeachment-witness-my-aide-overheard-trump-asking-about-investigations-when-he-was-on-phone-call">The Daily Wire</a> on Wednesday, Mr. Taylor revealed during the hearing that &#8220;he was recently told by one of his aides that President Trump inquired about &#8216;the investigations&#8217; during a phone call with Ambassador Gordon Sondland. The aide knows this because he/she was meeting with Sondland and &#8216;could hear President Trump on the phone.'&#8221;
“Last Friday, a member of my staff told me of events that occurred on July 26,” Taylor said. “While Ambassador [Kurt] Volker and I visited the front, this member of my staff accompanied Ambassador Sondland. Ambassador Sondland met with Mr. [Andrey] Yermak,” who is a top advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Reacting to Taylor&#8217;s information, which Toobin described as an &#8220;important new development,&#8221; the CNN legal analyst outlined the broader issue for Democrats: A lack of any first-hand testimony.
&#8220;[That call is] important, because the one criticism of these two witnesses, which I think is very much legitimate, it&#8217;s not really a criticism, it&#8217;s just a factual statement i[n] that neither of them had direct contact with the president. Ever, and that&#8217;s a problem if you&#8217;re going to impeach the president,&#8221; Toobin told Tapper, according to <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/cnn-legal-analyst-jeffrey-toobin-impeachment-witnesses-not-having-contact-with-trump-is-a-problem">The Washington Examiner</a>.
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, has been leading the charge with the claim that President Trump engaged in a &#8220;quid pro quo&#8221; or &#8220;bribery&#8221; with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a July 25th phone call. The impeachment effort <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/partisan-sham-trump-posts-gops-key-arguments-against-democrats-impeachment-case">centers</a> around a whistleblower complaint about Trump asking Ukraine to “look into” corruption allegations concerning former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.
“There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that,” Trump told Zelensky in the July phone call, as noted by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/impeachment-witness-my-aide-overheard-trump-asking-about-investigations-when-he-was-on-phone-call">The Daily Wire</a>. “So whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it … It sounds horrible to me.”
Trump has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/scam-trump-posts-reaction-video-during-impeachment-inquiry-hearing">called</a> the impeachment inquiry &#8220;the single greatest scam in the history of American politics.&#8221;
“It’s all very simple,” the president said in a video released in the midst of the Wednesday hearing, &#8220;they’re trying to stop me, because I’m fighting for you. And I’ll never let that happen.”

Former Rep. Katie Hill (D-CA) suggested on Thursday that if Americans care about the safety of children, then they need to vote for Democratic candidates so that they can pass a host of gun control legislation.
&#8220;You feel, I think, as a freshman especially just coming in, you feel this sense of powerlessness, like, we&#8217;ve done our part, what else can we do right now? And to me it just says with complete and utter clarity, we don&#8217;t have a choice but to flip the Senate and to get somebody in the White House who is going to make this a priority,&#8221; Hill told CNN&#8217;s Anderson Cooper. &#8220;So, regardless of your other political beliefs, if you think that the safety of our kids matter, then that&#8217;s to me what needs to get you to the polls.&#8221;
Hill&#8217;s remarks were in reference to the news of a school shooting that was happening at the time in Santa Clarita, California. As Hill talked to Cooper, the incident was still occurring and little details had been released by authorities, including who the shooter was, the motivation behind the spree, or how the firearm in question was obtained.

&#8220;It&#8217;s your worst nightmare. I mean, every single member of Congress,&#8221; Hill said. &#8220;I think, it&#8217;s constantly in the back of their head of whether something like that is going to happen in your home district because it&#8217;s the worst thing that could happen.&#8221;
&#8220;And I think one of the hardest parts about it is that, you know, what are we supposed to say at this point?&#8221; she continued. &#8220;We have passed background checks, we have passed four different pieces of legislation that would make an immediate impact on reducing gun violence. And it&#8217;s just sitting on [Senate Majority Leader] Mitch McConnell&#8217;s desk.&#8221;
Accordingly, the Democrat-led House passed a host of anti-Second Amendment bills that subsequently stalled in the Senate. The legislation includes enacting universal background checks and so-called &#8220;red flag&#8221; laws, which allow for temporary gun confiscation for individuals deemed a danger to oneself or to others.
Once considered a rising star of the party, the former California congresswoman announced her resignation from Congress in October amid an ethics probe into allegations that she had an affair with her congressional staffer, in violation of House rules. Despite published text messages, Hill denied the relationship, but subsequently admitted to a relationship with a campaign staffer.
However, Hill, many of her Democratic colleagues, and members of the media have portrayed the ex-freshman lawmaker as a victim of so-called &#8220;revenge porn&#8221; and sexist double standards for a slew of private photographs that were widely circulated after the story of her affair emerged.
Hill revealed on Wednesday that she was &#8220;starting to resurface&#8221; following her fall from grace, and state that she might &#8220;be a little bit more unfiltered&#8221; now that she is no longer an elected official. Her interview with CNN regarding the alleged school shooting was her first public appearance since she left Washington, D.C. in disgrace.

Speaking on the John Catsimatidis radio show, famed attorney and liberal Democrat Alan Dershowitz blistered CNN for its coverage of the impeachment proceedings against President Trump, saying, “CNN has banned me from their airwaves. CNN will not allow me on their network because they don’t want a liberal Democrat to be telling their viewers the truth about the Constitution.” Dershowiz also ripped Democrats, comparing them to the Russian secret police under the murderous Russian dictator Josef Stalin, asserting, “The Democrats are now making up crimes.”
Catsimatidis prompted Dershowitz by asking, “Do the Democrats today think that the American public is so stupid on some of the things they’re doing?”
Dershowitz replied:
<blockquote>They’re very scary. They’re very frightening to any civil libertarian. Whether you’re a Democrat or Republican; whether you come from New York or the middle of the country, you should be frightened by efforts to try to create crimes out of nothing. The latest twist was people on television, particularly CNN and MSNBC, are saying that if the president or somebody else was to name the whistleblower in the Ukrainian situation, that person would be guilty of a crime. I said in the afternoon yesterday — searching the federal criminal statutes from beginning to end — I couldn’t find the crime. It reminds me of Lavrentiy Beria, head of the KGB, said to Stalin, he said, “Show me the man and I’ll find you the crime.” Which he really meant, I’ll make up the crime.</blockquote>
Beria was the chief of the murderous Soviet security and secret police organization NKVD, which was the predecessor to the KGB.
<blockquote>And so the Democrats are now making up crimes. First they made up collusion. “Ahh! Collusion. It’s a crime!” I searched the statute books. There’s no crime of collusion except when businessmen get together to collude against the anti-trust laws, but no crime of collusion with a foreign country.
Then after that, they said “obstruction of Congress.” No, no, no, no, no. Obstruction of justice is a crime; obstruction of Congress is part of our system of checks and balances. If you get a subpoena from Congress, and you’re the president or in the executive department, and you think you have an executive privilege, you have an obligation not to respond. That’s not “obstruction of Congress,” that’s checks and balances under our Constitution.
So what we’re seeing, in a desperate effort to try to find crimes against President Trump: they’re just making it up. And that means we are all in danger, because if we can make up a crime — Congressman Cohen of Tennessee said that me and others who appear on Fox essentially were co-conspirators; we’re in on it. He’s now threatening people who are commentators, a liberal Democrat like me, who’s a commentator, that we’re in on it, that we’re co-conspirators. It is such a dangerous development to civil liberties.
The ACLU should be up in arms, but they’re silent.</blockquote>
Catsimatidis commented, “The lawyer involved also was tweeting years ago or during 2017, 2018 on impeachment?”
Dershowitz replied, “Yeah, obviously this is weaponized. This is being used by people who want to weaponize it against a particular president.” He added that if the shoe were on the other foot, Democrats would be up in arms.
He continued, “CNN has banned me from their airwaves. CNN will not allow me on their network because they don’t want a liberal Democrat to be telling their viewers the truth about the Constitution. Instead, they have people out there who are just parroting the party line over and over and over again and misleading their viewers. They got virtually everything wrong on the Mueller report; they predicted everything wrong and their viewers suffer. And when their viewers are denied my voice and the voice of other people to present a somewhat different narrative, it’s just a terrible thing.”

President Donald Trump slammed CNN and Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Sunday while speaking to reporters on the White House lawn before boarding Marine One and suggested that the administration would be releasing information showing that Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman — who claims that he was disturbed by Trump&#8217;s phone call with Ukraine — is a &#8220;Never Trumper.&#8221;
The first reporter that Trump called on asked, &#8220;What would you like to know about the whistleblower?&#8221;
&#8220;Well, the whistleblower gave a very inaccurate report. And, as you know, certain of the media released information about a man that they said was the whistleblower; I don&#8217;t know if that&#8217;s true or not,&#8221; Trump responded. &#8220;But what they said is he&#8217;s an Obama person. It was involved with Brennan; Susan Rice, which means Obama. But he was like a big — a big anti-Trump person. Hated Trump. And they — they said terrible things.&#8221;
Trump continued by taunting CNN for allegedly knowing the identity of the whistleblower and not releasing the name, an idea that Trump most likely got from the RealClearInvestigations report that identified the alleged whistleblower.
&#8220;Now, I don&#8217;t know if it&#8217;s true or not, but that was reported by some of the media, so you&#8217;ll have to find out,&#8221; Trump continued. &#8220;They think they know — they know who it is. You know who it is. You just don&#8217;t want to report it. CNN knows who it is, but you don&#8217;t want to report it and, you know, you’d be doing the public a service if you did.&#8221;
In the RealClearInvestigations report, Fred Fleitz, a former CIA analyst and national security adviser to Trump, said: &#8220;Everyone knows who he is. CNN knows. The Washington Post knows. The New York Times knows. Congress knows. The White House knows. Even the president knows who he is.&#8221;
A couple of minutes later a different reporter pressed Trump about his claim that Colonel Vindman was anti-Trump.
&#8220;Sir, what evidence do you have that Colonel Vindman is a Never Trumper?&#8221; the reporter asked.
Trump responded, &#8220;We&#8217;ll be showing that to you real soon. Okay?&#8221;
Several minutes later, Trump took a shot at Pelosi over the partisan impeachment vote last week where no Republicans and two Democrats in the House voted against the Democrats&#8217; impeachment measure.
&#8220;I think Nancy Pelosi has lost her mind. And I think, frankly, that she should go back home to San Francisco,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;If you look at what’s happening to her district — her district is going to hell, with homeless, with — that they’re not taking care of; with needles all over the street; with tents; with people; with sanitation; with horrible things being washed into the ocean, into the Pacific Ocean.&#8221;
&#8220;I think Nancy Pelosi — her district has probably gone down more than any district, proportionately, in the United States,&#8221; Trump continued. &#8220;And what she’s done — and what she’s done for that district — and then, on top of it, you’ve got fires eating away at California every year because management is so bad. The governor doesn’t know — he’s like a child. He doesn’t know what he’s doing. And I’ve been telling this for two years: They’ve got to take care of it.&#8221;
&#8220;Every year, it’s always California. Never — it’s rarely somebody else or someplace else,&#8221; Trump added. &#8220;But Nancy Pelosi ought to go back to her district and take care of it, because her district has become a mess — number one in the country for going down.&#8221;
&#8220;All she thinks about is impeachment. But she doesn&#8217;t want to impeach,&#8221; Trump concluded. &#8220;You know who wants to impeach? The people that run the party: the radical left.&#8221;

When I first saw the <a href="https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1189601417469841409?s=20">image</a> tweeted by President Trump of a dog being awarded the Medal of Honor, like any reasonable person I immediately assumed that it was completely real and accurate. Granted, I’d heard dark tales of a black magic known as “photoshop,” but I couldn’t believe the President of the United States would ever engage in such sorcery. I was wrong.
As has since been exposed by the tireless work of our courageous news media, the picture was a fraud. A fake. A forgery. It has been <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/30/us/politics/trump-dog.html">altered</a>, the New York Times confirmed in an article with two authors. After its own extensive investigation, the Washington Post agreed that the photo was &#8220;<a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2019/10/30/trump-tweeted-photo-medal-honor-recipient-who-was-edited-out-replaced-by-dog/">edited.</a>&#8221; CNN&#8217;s Jim Acosta ran down his own leads and <a href="https://twitter.com/Acosta/status/1189658623431102465">discovered</a> that &#8220;the dog is not at the White House.&#8221; Another fearless journalist immediately <a href="https://twitter.com/W7VOA/status/1189603619391320065">called</a> the White House and found that there had been no &#8220;canine events.&#8221; After a whole day spent on this important subject, it became clear that the picture was an elaborate ruse. Most disturbing of all: the Daily Wire was behind it.

As it turns out, our very own social media team created this image as a “joke.” But this is no joking matter. We have learned time and again throughout Trump&#8217;s presidency that memes are nothing to laugh about. So, I want to say this loudly and unequivocally: I do not approve of such a dastardly misuse of photoshop. If I had been consulted ahead of time, I would have cautioned against going down this fateful path. I would have warned our social media team that humorously editing a photo of a Medal of Honor ceremony will send the entire nation — or at least the media, at any rate — into a spiral of confusion and despair. Anarchy will follow. Cannibalism won’t be far behind. The very survival of human civilization is at stake. Stop, dear God stop, I would have shouted with tears in my eyes. This is not who we are. Put the photoshop down, damn you! Turn back now before it&#8217;s too late! You don&#8217;t have to do this!
But I never had the chance. The decision was made and we all must live with the consequences. A disturbing question now inevitably arises: can we even trust the things we see on the internet? If the dog photo was fake, what else is fake? I saw a picture on Facebook last week of a velociraptor riding a shark while shooting a machine gun. I spent days trying to figure out which aquarium has this interesting exhibit, but now I&#8217;m starting to wonder if it was just propaganda. Reality itself suddenly seems unstable.
In closing, I can only express my deep gratitude to the New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, and all of the other news outlets that exposed this wicked hoax. And though the culprits here at the Daily Wire appear to be entirely lacking in remorse, I will apologize on their behalf. I pledge that, from now on, so help me God, photoshops and memes will be treated with the respect and seriousness they deserve.

CNN news anchor Jake Tapper revealed on Sunday that the network has hired former Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI) as a political commentator.
&#8220;Let&#8217;s bring in new CNN contributor, commentator and former congressman Sean Duffy,&#8221; Tapper said as he introduced Duffy onto a panel during &#8220;State of the Union.&#8221; &#8220;Thank you for being here and congratulations on joining the CNN family.&#8221;
Duffy announced over the summer that he would be stepping down from his role in Congress to spend more time with his family. In October, he welcomed his ninth child, who needs special attention due to medical complications.
&#8220;Recently, we&#8217;ve learned that our baby, due in late October, will need even more love, time, and attention due to complications, including a heart condition,&#8221; Duffy wrote in a statement in August. &#8220;With much prayer, I have decided that this is the right time for me to take a break from public service in order to be the support my wife, baby, and family need right now. It is not an easy decision — because I truly love being your Congressman — but it is the right decision for my family, which is my first love and responsibility.&#8221;
Duffy has represented Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District since he assumed office during the Tea Party wave in 2011. The district is the largest in the state of Wisconsin, covering 20 counties, and has become increasingly red over the past few election cycles.
In 2018, the former Wisconsin congressman was re-elected to the seat after winning more than 20% of the vote. President Donald Trump also won the district over his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton by 21 points during the 2016 presidential election. The district is a Republican stronghold and is not expected to be competitive going into the 2020 election cycle.
Accordingly, Duffy is a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump.
In his first appearance on CNN since he was hired by the network, Duffy defended both the president and the Republican Party over claims that there is no room for dissenting opinions on the right side of the aisle.
&#8220;If you look at the Republican Party and Donald Trump, I mean, we&#8217;ve expanded the party. So, Donald Trump won Wisconsin for the first time since 1984 — we won Michigan, we won Ohio, we&#8217;re winning union voters, rural voters — we&#8217;re doing better than we ever have,&#8221; Duffy said during the panel. &#8220;Now, if you want to say we don&#8217;t do well on the coast — in New York, New England, in the west coast of California, yeah, that&#8217;s true. But in the middle of America, where we actually have to keep the Senate and we have so many House seats, we are doing incredibly well.&#8221;
&#8220;But the bottom line is, we have a great, diverse party. We are the big tent party. We have pro-lifers, pro-choicers, we have some who want open borders, we have some who want closed borders,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;We have a great debate and I think it only advances our ability to win elections in states in the middle of America.&#8221;

On Sunday, Democratic presidential candidate Mayor Pete Buttigieg appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” with host Jake Tapper.
During the segment, which touched on various topics, Tapper asked Buttigieg about the ongoing feud between former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and fellow Democratic presidential candidate Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI).
On Wednesday, Clinton appeared on David Plouffe’s “Campaign HQ” podcast, and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-gabbard-smacks-clinton-she-knows-she-cant-manipulate-me-if-im-elected-president">seemed to claim</a> that Gabbard was a “Russian asset.”

<blockquote>I’m not making any predictions, but I think they’ve got their eye on someone who’s currently in the Democratic primary, and are grooming her to be the third-party candidate. She’s a favorite of the Russians. They have a bunch of sites and bots and other ways of supporting her so far, and that’s assuming Jill Stein will give it up, which she might not, because she’s also a Russian asset.</blockquote>
A Clinton spokesperson later <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-gabbard-smacks-clinton-she-knows-she-cant-manipulate-me-if-im-elected-president">confirmed</a> that the former secretary of state was indeed speaking about Gabbard, telling CNN, &#8220;If the nesting doll fits.&#8221;
Buttigieg pivoted away from actually condemning Clinton when pressed by Tapper:
<blockquote>TAPPER: We&#8217;re running out of time, so I do want to flip to a different topic, which is the last Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, appeared to suggest that one of your fellow campaign nominees or campaign hopefuls, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, is a Russian asset.

TAPPER: So, Clinton&#8217;s spokesman confirmed that she was talking about Tulsi Gabbard there. Gabbard fired back, calling Secretary Clinton the “queen of warmongers,” “embodiment of corruption.” It went on from there. I know you don&#8217;t want to get in the middle of these two politicians fighting. But is it helpful to have the 2016 nominee suggesting that a congresswoman is a Russian asset?
BUTTIGIEG: I&#8217;d prefer to have the conversation be about policy, about what we&#8217;re going to do, and about how American lives are going to be different. When it comes to any of my Democratic competitors, that&#8217;s my focus, making sure that we make very clear the differences – and there are very real differences among us – and making it clear to voters what their choices are. That&#8217;s where I&#8217;d like to focus to be.
TAPPER: Right. But do you think Tulsi Gabbard is a Russian asset?
BUTTIGIEG: I don&#8217;t know what the basis is for that.
TAPPER: Well, I don&#8217;t either.
BUTTIGIEG: I consider her to be a competitor, somebody who I respect her service. I also have very different views than she does, especially on foreign policy. And I would prefer to have that argument in terms of policy, which is what we do with debates and what we&#8217;re doing as we go forward.
TAPPER: So when Donald Trump smears people, Democrats all stand up and say, you&#8217;re smearing someone. Stop it. Why don&#8217;t Democrats do that, to say that about Tulsi Gabbard? It seems like an obvious smear. I don&#8217;t see any evidence she&#8217;s a Russian asset. It seems like a wild accusation.
BUTTIGIEG: Yes, I think statements like that ought to be backed by evidence.</blockquote>

White House Press Secretary and Communications Director Stephanie Grisham hit back at CNN&#8217;s Anderson Cooper on Sunday after Cooper ran a segment mocking her late last week.
&#8220;I think CNN has lost sight of the fact that we are human beings,&#8221; Grisham <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/stephanie-grisham-responds-anderson-cooper-hamilton-mulvaney-theater-2019-10">said</a> in response. &#8220;Just as Anderson Cooper has a job to do, working for a company he is proud of, so do I.&#8221;
&#8220;I also imagine he has a personal life, where he has to juggle quite a bit – and the same goes for me,&#8221; Grisham added.
Cooper, who portrays himself as an unbiased news anchor, repeatedly mocked Grisham, saying: &#8220;Ooh, Stephanie. You got to increase your vocabulary, I mean, your criticism. Theater now has been used twice. I mean, Grisham clearly doesn&#8217;t get to Broadway enough if she, you know, thinks those press conferences are theater.&#8221;
&#8220;I am a single mom who (proudly) holds three roles in the White House, and I am doing the very best I can,&#8221; Grisham said in response. &#8220;But I definitely don&#8217;t get to Broadway enough.&#8221;
Cooper&#8217;s segment attacking Grisham came shortly after Grisham hit CNN over the network&#8217;s extreme left-wing bias, which was further revealed this last week after James O&#8217;Keefe&#8217;s Project Veritas released more undercover sting videos on CNN.
&#8220;America needs real journalism. Real journalists don&#8217;t have an agenda,&#8221; Grisham tweeted. &#8220;They gather and present the news in an unbiased manner. Grisham popped her head out this morning to check in with her supervisors over at Fox News. Though, it seems like she saw her shadow and [is] now back under ground for six more weeks of stonewalling.
The rarely seen press secretary who, since taken that job over the summer, has actually yet to hold a formal news briefing, appeared on &#8220;Fox &amp; Friends.&#8221;
By the way, I just want to point out, it&#8217;s &#8220;Fox &amp; Friends,&#8221; it&#8217;s got an ampersand. It&#8217;s not &#8220;Fox ‘N Friends,&#8221; you know, like Kibbles &#8216;N Bits or Shake &#8216;N Bake, that&#8217;s what I thought it was, so I checked. You can, you know, take that off your list of great unknowns.
Grisham&#8217;s appearance came less 24 hours after acting Chief of Staff Mick &#8220;Great Muffet Keeper&#8221; Mulvaney&#8217;s news conference, which drew huge reviews ranging from not helpful to a confession.
Now, for her part, though, Grisham said that Mulvaney did everything a good accomplice should.

COOPER: Tizzy. Damn, Grisham&#8217;s a truth teller. I mean, you know what, let the chips fall where they may. Stephanie don&#8217;t care. Does everybody working for the President have to debase themselves and lie like he does? Apparently so.
I thought John Grisham was a great story teller, but I got to say, Stephanie Grisham may have him beat. In the alternative universe version of what happened, Mulvaney stayed on message, did a great job, and the White House only had to clarify his statement because the media was in such a tizzy.
Frigging media, always in a tizzy over silly little things like using the presidency for corrupt personal gain, using American taxpayer money to coerce a desperate leader of a country under attack by Russians to dig up dirt damaging President Trump&#8217;s political opponents in the upcoming election, that&#8217;s nothing.
Stephanie had more criticism for the press today, though. It turns out what she said was actually something she&#8217;s workshopped before on &#8220;Fox &amp; Friends.&#8221;

Also, I hate to break it to her but TV reporters are already on TV. So, no need to try to get on TV because that&#8217;s where they work, on TV. It&#8217;s tough to grasp, but it&#8217;s actually how the entire TV medium works. I am on TV right now.
Newspaper reporters, they are covering the White House, so they probably already made a name for themselves. You know what I mean? It&#8217;s a position – it used to be kind of an exalted position – people wanted to be there covering it because important things happened at the old White Houses. Holding the President and his staff to account, that&#8217;s not theater. Theater is, I don&#8217;t know, the president spending taxpayer dollars on a military parade for the purpose of fluffing his own ego, that would be theater. Theater is, you know, campaigning next to a pile of steaks that you claim your company sells but, in fact, someone on your staff bought them at a nearby butcher.
Theater – remember when that happened? I can&#8217;t believe that actually happened. The steaks used to be sold, I&#8217;m in a tizzy, used to be sold at a sharper image when he actually sold steaks. Theater is standing in front of bunch of novelty size stacks of paper and telling the American people you&#8217;re not going to have anything to do with your family business, which you then spend your presidency pushing money toward.
Stephanie Grisham can say whatever she wants from her perch on &#8220;Fox &amp; Friends,&#8221; but you know what? When she finally exits the stage as all the president&#8217;s people seem to do, whether they want to or not, let&#8217;s see whether the president is in a tizzy or not when he delivers her review on &#8220;The Ridiculist.”

Stephanie Grisham Hits Back At CNN’s Anderson Cooper For Mocking Her

One of the most interesting parts of the CNN Democratic debate this week had nothing to do with the debates. It came during a commercial break. The Washington Post bought commercial time — which isn&#8217;t shocking, since the Democrats are the paper&#8217;s natural subscriber base. It&#8217;s how The Post promoted itself that was truly jaw-dropping.
The ad resembles a computer screen with a cursor floating over a button that reads, &#8220;Unsubscribe.&#8221; It starts with the phrase &#8220;Clickbait as news.&#8221; Is that true? The Post abhors clickbait?
Two minutes on the paper&#8217;s website puts the lie to that. The night after the debate, the first &#8220;In the News&#8221; tag at the top of the website promoted the &#8220;news&#8221; subject of &#8220;snowball fight.&#8221; That clickbait led straight to this headline: &#8220;A 68-year-old got hit with a snowball. He retaliated by beating a 9-year-old unconscious, police say.&#8221;
There was more. The next scourges The Post opposed in the commercial were &#8220;Hidden agendas&#8221; and &#8220;Unverified sources.&#8221; But The Post thrives on hiding the agendas of anonymous sources, whose identities feel unverified to the reader. In 2017, The Post published an article gleefully titled &#8220;Anonymous sources are absolutely killing Trump&#8217;s presidency.&#8221; Two weeks ago, the paper gushed over the &#8220;whistleblower&#8221; fueling the Democratic impeachment effort, under the headline &#8220;Someone blew a whistle. It&#8217;s now the hottest tune in D.C.&#8221;
Virtually the entire false narrative of Russian collusion with Trump was based on statements like &#8220;said one source,&#8221; &#8220;according to an official,&#8221; &#8220;based on interviews with 17 sources familiar with the case&#8221; etc., etc. Now it&#8217;s the same with the narrative on Trump and Ukraine.
And The Post is one of the worst offenders. What anonymous staff member came up with that lie?
Still, there&#8217;s more to the ad. The Post also claims to be in staunch opposition to &#8220;The outrage cycle&#8221; and &#8220;Purposefully polarizing narratives.&#8221; But whether it&#8217;s the &#8220;news&#8221; pages or the editorials, the outrage at Trump and polarization over Trump are never-ending. Even in times when unity should occur — take the funeral of George H.W. Bush — The Post was polarizing, running a front-page &#8220;news&#8221; update headlined, &#8220;Trump sits with fellow presidents but still stands alone.&#8221; Reporter Philip Rucker snarkily described former presidents and first ladies in the front row &#8230; by reminding everyone how Trump had insulted them over the years.
Still more. The ad claims you should subscribe to The Post to avoid &#8220;Reckless reporting&#8221; and &#8220;Misinformation.&#8221; Holy smokes. We won&#8217;t bother to cite the endless stream of recklessness. We will only point to the entirety of the Russia collusion story that dominated The Post&#8217;s coverage for two years and was entirely wrong. &#8220;Reckless&#8221; is an understatement.
Just weeks ago, The Post rushed to print a story about a young African American girl who was allegedly savagely bullied by white boys at a Northern Virginia private Christian school where Karen Pence teaches. &#8230; And then the girl admitted the attack never happened. She made it up.
It grew worse. You should also buy The Post to avoid &#8220;Intentional bias&#8221; and &#8220;One-sided news,&#8221; the ad said. This needs a laugh track and &#8220;no comment&#8221; from us.
Finally , The Post rejects &#8220;scare tactics.&#8221; It&#8217;s hard to forget that in the summer of 2016, it made a half-page &#8220;photo illustration&#8221; of a nuclear mushroom cloud inside Trump&#8217;s head — with the headline &#8220;Anger management.&#8221; He&#8217;d get us all nuked!
If The Post is really trying to attract new online subscribers during a Democrat debate on the Collusion News Network, it should just say: &#8220;You hate Trump? We hate Trump. Come to us for all the hot Trump-hating scoop. The Washington Post.&#8221;

In a letter obtained and published by the <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/washington-secrets/trump-campaign-to-sue-cnn-over-pro-impeachment-bias-demands-substantial-payment">Washington Examiner</a> on Friday, President Trump&#8217;s campaign informs CNN President Jeff Zucker that it plans to sue him and his network for a &#8220;substantial&#8221; amount as a result of CNN subjecting the president to &#8220;unfair, unfounded, unethical and unlawful attacks.&#8221;
The letter was sent after the release this week of a series of undercover videos produced by James O&#8217;Keefe&#8217;s Project Veritas showing CNN insiders describing alleged overt, systemic bias against Trump within CNN, including from the top: Zucker himself.
The letter is addressed to Zucker and CNN&#8217;s Executive Vice President and General Counsel David Vigilante and signed by Charles J. Harder of Harder LLP, a firm representing Trump&#8217;s campaign. In the letter, Harder accuses CNN of failing to abide by &#8220;industry-accepted codes of ethics, including the Society for Professional Journalists&#8217; Code of Ethics,&#8221; as well as CNN&#8217;s own self-declared commitment to &#8220;excellence in journalism&#8221; and being &#8220;the most trusted source for news and information.&#8221;
Among the evidence of CNN&#8217;s alleged failure to provide ethical coverage, Harder cites Project Veritas&#8217; recent videos in which CNN employees say that their network is committed to help &#8220;take down President Trump&#8221; and Zucker is driven by a &#8220;personal vendetta&#8221; against him. Harder stresses that the listed examples &#8220;are merely the tip of the iceberg of the evidence my clients have accumulated over recent years.&#8221;
&#8220;We also expect substantial additional information about CNN’s wrongful practices to become known in the coming days and weeks,&#8221; Harder states. &#8220;Never in the history of this country has a president been the subject of such a sustained barrage of unfair, unfounded, unethical and unlawful attacks by so-called &#8216;mainstream&#8217; news, as the current situation.&#8221;
&#8220;Your actions are in violation of the Lanham Act (15 U.S.C. § 1051 et seq.), among other applicable laws, by constituting misrepresentations to the public, to your advertisers, and others,&#8221; the letter reads. &#8220;Accordingly, my clients intend to file legal action against you, to seek compensatory damages, treble damages, punitive damages, injunctive relief, reimbursement of legal costs, and all other available legal and equitable remedies, to the maximum extent permitted by law.&#8221;

Trump for President, Inc. We write concerning your biased reporting practices relating to our clients. The terms “you” and “your” in this letter shall collectively refer to CNN Broadcasting, Inc., CNN Productions, Inc., CNN Interactive Group, Inc., the website located at CNN.com, and all broadcast television stations owned, operated or affiliated with the foregoing.
Your website expressly represents to the public, in writing, that you are “journalists,” “truth seekers,” “united by a mission to inform, engage and empower the world,” and you “stand for excellence in journalism and [your] products.” See <a href="https://www.cnn.com/About">https://www.CNN.com/About</a>  (emphasis added). Your slogan is “The Most Trusted Name in News”. Your Facebook account claims you are “widely known to be – the most trusted source for news and information.” Your anchor, Don Lemon, stated on June 6, 2019, as a keynote speaker at Financial Times Live Future of News: “We don’t profess to be a liberal network, we’re a news network … we have a commitment to the truth and to facts, which has really been paramount, especially always at CNN.” Mr. Zucker said in an interview with Variety, published on August 2, 2016: “[O]ur air, as opposed to others’, is truly fair and balanced.” (Emphasis added.)
Statements like “excellence in journalism,” “most trusted source for news and information,” “commitment to the truth and to facts” and “truly fair and balanced” are statements that would be widely considered throughout the journalism community and news industry as  journalism that complies with industry-accepted codes of ethics, including the Society for Professional Journalists’ Code of Ethics. That code — written by journalism experts for practicing journalists (available at<a href="https://www.spj.org/pdf/spj-code-of-ethics.pdf"> </a><a href="https://www.spj.org/pdf/spj-code-of-ethics.pdf">https://www.SPJ.org/pdf/spj-code-of-ethics.pdf</a>) (the “Code”)  — provides in pertinent part:

Recently released video footage of individuals alleged to be your employees (see <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7XZmugtLv4">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7XZmugtLv4</a>) (the “Footage”) indicates that your reporting relating to President Trump is contrary to your own mission and the aforementioned Code of Ethics. Your own employees appear to state that CNN is focused on trying to “take down President Trump,” driven by a “personal vendetta” that Mr. Zucker purportedly has against him, rather than reporting the news in an objective manner. In the Footage, your employees appear to state that CNN attempts to make its reporting appear neutral and unbiased, when in fact its reporting is far from neutral and highly biased against the President. Among other statements, your employees appear to state the following:  Nick Neville, Media Coordinator at CNN, states:

“[Jeff Zucker has] had an ongoing feud with Trump since The Apprentice” (where Zucker was a producer)
“I totally want to do just like the truth, the dogged reporting. But then you have higher up executives like Zucker and other people, who are saying we gotta make profits&#8230;so it turns into like certain things that you do are trying just to attract viewers, then it becomes kind of a comedy show” “Don Lemon comes on, he makes you think he’s objective news, but he’s  blatantly opinionated. So either disclose where you’re coming from or get someone whose a little bit more objective. Don Lemon&#8230;love him or hate him he’s blatantly anti-Trump, he’s blatantly left. So maybe Don Lemon could disclose that, but CNN makes it appear as though we have 24 hours of unbiased news, that’s not true.”</blockquote>
Cary Poarch, a CNN employee in the Washington, D.C. bureau, states:

In a new undercover sting video released on Thursday by James O&#8217;Keefe&#8217;s Project Veritas, a production supervisor at CNN suggested that he wants President Donald Trump to die &#8220;hopefully soon.&#8221;
The remarks were included in a nearly 16-minute long video in Project Veritas&#8217; third installment of its undercover sting video series on CNN, which the group has dubbed &#8220;Expose CNN.&#8221;

The third installment of &#8220;Expose CNN&#8221; comes after the the first round of leaked videos hit the news on Monday, where CNN President Jeff Zucker <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/project-veritas-video-cnn-head-appears-to-admit-network-pushing-impeachment-has-personal-vendetta-against-trump-employee-says">told</a> employees that he wanted everything to be about the “moves towards impeachment.”
In the video, Zucker also said that he wanted his employees to &#8220;knock off&#8221; their friendliness toward Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC).
In the video, Neville said that Zucker “has a personal vendetta against Trump” and that he “blatantly hates Trump” and that it impacts CNN’s news coverage of the president.
Neville added: “But then you have higher up executives, like Zucker and other people, who are saying, ‘Well, we gotta make profits.’ So, you end up with things like — I don’t know if you heard this, but this week they had like a f***ing game show to, like, decide what dates they’re, it’s gonna be this debate.”
Sierra said that after Trump won, “the mood was just so sour the whole day” at CNN&#8217;s offices.
“Cooper hates him &#8230; Don Lemon hates him,” Sierra continued. “Cuomo doesn’t like him” and Jake Tapper “doesn’t like him either.”
Sierra later said that the network does not cover Democrats and Republicans the same way during interviews.
“We’re tough on the Republicans,” Sierra said. “More so than the Democrats. Our Democratic interviews are like softballs, compared to the Republicans … if you notice like every time, we ask questions to Republicans, like it’s always a little tougher than when we do get the Democrats.”

Senator Warren has started to eclipse former Vice President Joe Biden as the top Democratic presidential candidate, and it showed during the Tuesday night debate.
Warren monopolized most of the time on stage, speaking nearly 23 minutes, according to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/10/15/us/elections/debate-speaking-time.html">The New York Times</a>. Gabbard, on the other hand, was nearly dead last with speaking time, only allowed about eight and a half minutes.
Politicos online noticed the imbalance and jumped on the moderators for cutting off the Hawaii representative.

Last week, Gabbard threatened to boycott the Tuesday night debate over bias from the corporate media and the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
“I am seriously considering boycotting October 15 debate to bring attention to DNC/corporate media’s effort to rig 2020 primary,” Gabbard captioned her video post to Twitter, as reported by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/after-blasting-rigged-primary-tulsi-gabbard-decides-against-debate-boycott">The Daily Wire</a>.
“I want to thank you all very much for your support. I need to share something with you. It is very important,” the Democrat said in the video. “There are so many of you who I’ve met in Iowa and New Hampshire who have expressed to me how frustrated you are that the DNC and corporate media are essentially trying to usurp your role as voters in choosing who our Democratic nominee will be.”
“I share your concerns, and I’m sure that all our supporters throughout the country do as well,” she said.
“In this 2020 election, the DNC and corporate media are rigging the election again, but this time against the American people in the early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada,” Gabbard continued.
“They are attempting to replace the roles of voters in the early states, using polling and other arbitrary methods which are not transparent or democratic, and holding so-called debates which are not debates at all but rather commercialized reality television meant to entertain, rather than to inform or enlighten,&#8221; she said.
“In short, the DNC and corporate media are trying to hijack the entire election process,” Gabbard closed the video. “So, in order to bring attention to this serious threat to our democracy, and to ensure that your voice is heard, I’m seriously considering to boycotting the next debate on October 15th. I’m gonna announce my decision within the next few days.”

A contractor working at CNN came forward on Monday and released videos that they recorded of CNN President Jeff Zucker appearing to admit that the network is pushing the agenda of the Democrat Party by making all their news coverage about &#8220;moves towards impeachment&#8221; and telling CNN employees that the only coverage he wants is &#8220;impeachment.&#8221;
The contractor, Cary Poarch, released the videos through James O&#8217;Keefe&#8217;s Project Veritas, which has a history of releasing damaging video content of left-wing figures and organizations admitting a wide range of things that often conflict with what they say publicly.
“I decided to wear a hidden camera … to expose the bias running rampant,” Poarch said.
Poarch recorded CNN company meetings where Zucker appears to admit that CNN is essentially pushing the agenda of the Democrat Party by giving non-stop coverage to impeachment and by stating that all news coverage is about &#8220;moving toward impeachment.&#8221;
“I want to stay with this, our top, top &#8212; our own reporters, our own political analysts, the top, the top [unintelligible] we have,&#8221; Zucker says. &#8220;All these moves are moves towards impeachment.&#8221;
&#8220;Let&#8217;s just stay very focused on impeachment,&#8221; Zucker adds. &#8220;We&#8217;re moving towards impeachment &#8230; all these moves are moves towards impeachment.&#8221;
Zucker tells employees to &#8220;knock off&#8221; their friendliness toward South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.
The videos also seem to demonstrate a culture of bias at CNN.
CNN media coordinator Nick Neville says on an undercover video that Zucker &#8220;has a personal vendetta against Trump&#8221; and that he &#8220;blatantly hates Trump&#8221; and that it impacts CNN&#8217;s news coverage of the president.
&#8220;He hates him,&#8221; Neville says, adding that Zucker&#8217;s hatred for Trump means that CNN is going to give &#8220;negative&#8221; news coverage to the president.
Neville later appears to lament the way that the network covers the news as entertainment, saying: &#8220;But then you have higher up executives, like Zucker and other people, who are saying, &#8216;Well, we gotta make profits.&#8217; So, you end up with things like &#8212; I don’t know if you heard this, but this week they had like a f***ing game show to, like, decide what dates they’re, it’s gonna be this debate.&#8221;
CNN floor manager Mike Brevna says that after Trump won the 2016 presidential election that people were &#8220;sobbing&#8221; around the office and people were &#8220;in shock.&#8221;
&#8220;That day, man, when I came in, everyone was silent,&#8221; CNN media coordinator Christian Sierra said. &#8220;Nobody wanted to talk. I&#8217;m like, like the mood was just so sour the whole day &#8230; . It was a f**king dreary day.&#8221;
Sierra admitted that CNN&#8217;s television personalities hate the president, saying: “Cooper hates him,” “Don Lemon hates him,” “Cuomo doesn’t like him,” and Jake Tapper “doesn’t like him either.”
Later Sierra admitted that the network does not cover Democrats and Republicans the same way during interviews.

PROJECT VERITAS VIDEO: CNN Head Appears To Admit Network Pushing Impeachment, Has ‘Personal Vendetta Against Trump,’ Employee Says

The White House issued a statement Monday condemning a graphic parody video showing President Donald Trump shooting members of the media, Democrats, and activist groups, which played at the American Priority Conference over the weekend as part of a &#8220;art installation&#8221; by professional meme-maker, Carpe Donktum.
The video, which has been on YouTube for sixteen months without much notice, attracted the attention of the New York Times, which posted a <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/13/us/politics/trump-video.html">blockbuster breaking news report on the film</a> Sunday night. Members of the media were quick to condemn the video, suggesting that it was an open call for violence against journalists and activists, and accusing the White House of promoting and encouraging violence.
The Trump Administration was quick to issue a statement on the video, noting that the president has not seen it but strongly condemns the use of violence, according to the Associated Press.
&#8220;The White House says President Donald Trump has yet to watch a graphically violent parody video that depicts a likeness of him shooting and stabbing opponents and members of the news media, but based on what he’s heard, he &#8216;strongly condemns&#8217; it,&#8221; <a href="https://www.apnews.com/5b4d068063154e74bbfca5cbfa3082c0">the AP reported</a>.
The video is actually a scene cut from the film, &#8220;Kingsman: The Secret Service,&#8221; and originally depicted the main character, a secret agent played by Colin Firth, engaging in a frenzied shootout inside a church whose congregation has been driven mad by a chemical released into the air (the work of an elite environmentalist super-villain).
Carpe Donktum simply superimposed Trump&#8217;s face on top of Firth&#8217;s, and the logos of media outlets like CNN and Vox (and activist groups like Black Lives Matter) over the faces of Firth&#8217;s fictional victims and re-labled the church the &#8220;Church of Fake News.&#8221;
The video doesn&#8217;t seem particularly well thought-out (Firth&#8217;s character is shot in the head at point blank range at the end of the scene), or constructed, and appears meant to &#8220;troll&#8221; the same news organizations the fictional President Trump takes aim at in the clip.
Outlets like CNN were quick to release statements condemning the video and demanding an apology from Trump.
&#8220;Sadly, this is not the first time that supporters of the President have promoted violence against the media in a video they apparently find entertaining &#8212; but it is by far and away the worst. The images depicted are vile and horrific,&#8221; <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/13/politics/trump-fake-video-shooting-media-critics-doral/index.html">CNN said in a statement released late Sunday</a>. &#8220;The President and his family, the White House, and the Trump campaign need to denounce it immediately in the strongest possible terms. Anything less equates to a tacit endorsement of violence and should not be tolerated by anyone.&#8221;
AMP Fest organizers also condemned the video, noting that it&#8217;s showing was an &#8220;unauthorized&#8221; &#8220;meme exhibit&#8221; and that viewings took place in a &#8220;side room.&#8221;
&#8220;Content was submitted by third parties and was not associated with or endorsed by the conference in any official capacity,&#8221; event organizer Alex Phillips said, <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/13/politics/trump-fake-video-shooting-media-critics-doral/index.html">according to CNN</a>. &#8220;American Priority rejects all political violence and aims to promote a healthy dialogue about the preservation of free speech. This matter is under review.&#8221;
The Trump campaign issued a confused statement back to CNN, noting that they had nothing to do with the video or its presentation but denounced the depiction of violence, regardless.
One reporter for Reason Magazine inadvertently revealed that room on Twitter while reporting from the conference. The room was empty.

Although demands to condemn the video lest it encourage violence against the media spread like wildfire across Twitter and Facebook, it appears the film clip has been up on YouTube since July of 2018 and, until Monday, had less than 100,000 views &#8212; a rather paltry total for a typical Trump parody piece. Once the New York Times called attention to the video, it, too, quickly went viral, in an odd example of the &#8220;Streisand Effect.&#8221;

Walter Shaub, the Obama-appointed former director of the Office of Government Ethics, tried to manufacture controversy surrounding President Donald Trump&#8217;s eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, last week by suggesting that there was something potentially nefarious about China granting her a trademark for voting machines.
&#8220;China gave Ivanka Trump a trademark for voting machines while she was committing nepotism in the White House,&#8221; Shaub, who recently was a CNN contributor, wrote on Twitter. &#8220;America still waits for an explanation.&#8221;

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) noted that Ivanka&#8217;s business applied for the trademarks in 2016 and that the trademarks covered a multitude of items, not just voting machines.
&#8220;The newest Chinese trademarks cover fashion items including handbags, shoes, wedding dresses, and jewelry. (Ivanka’s business has previously relied on a Chinese manufacturer to supply handbags, shoes, and clothing.) The trademarks also cover items including nursing homes, sausage casing, and voting machines,&#8221; CREW reported. &#8220;Ivanka’s business applied for these trademarks in 2016.&#8221;
A further review of the application that Ivanka&#8217;s business <a href="https://s3.amazonaws.com/storage.citizensforethics.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/05191659/Ivanka-October-2018-China-Trademarks.pdf">filed</a> with the Chinese government shows that it was filed on March 8, 2016, which was months before then-presidential candidate Donald Trump even secured the GOP nomination for president.
Multiple sources that are highly connected in the Washington, D.C., political scene and who have extensive experience working in legal settings tell The Daily Wire that, while there are some people who genuinely have questions about the trademarks, Shaub is not one of them.
Rather, these sources allege that Shaub was being intentionally deceptive. They claim that he knows that trade infringement is so common in China that it is standard business practice for American businesses to trademark an entire batch of products, which in this case included the voting machines.
Even Snopes, a far-left fact-check website, reported, &#8220;Although Ivanka Trump’s now reportedly shut-down brand may hold a variety of trademarks in China, it’s unlikely she’ll be involved in manufacturing sausage casings or voting machines in the foreseeable future.&#8221;
Intellectual property theft, which includes trademarks, is a major problem in China as the communist nation has stolen massive amounts of intellectual property from the U.S. for decades, which has been something that the Trump administration has been addressing in its trade talks with China.
&#8220;IP theft — use of patents, trade secrets, trademarks, and copyrights without permission — may seem dry to many. But it represents big money. Intangible assets, which include IP, make up 80% of the value of S&amp;P 500 companies, according to the Harvard Business Review,&#8221; Forbes <a href="https://fortune.com/2019/03/01/china-ip-theft/">reported</a>. &#8220;IP theft may not seem the same as taking physical property, but it represents either a loss of opportunity or of competitive advantage that reduces the money a company could have made. The U.S. Trade Representative has estimated the annual loss to China at between $225 billion and $600 billion, according to CNN.&#8221;
&#8220;There are different ways Chinese companies reportedly obtain U.S. IP. Corporate espionage and cyberattacks are two, according to Axios,&#8221; Forbes added. &#8220;But so is forced technology transfers, in which the Chinese government compels companies investing in China to provide IP details and licenses.&#8221;

As I’ve already covered, the LGBT town hall hosted by CNN was a debacle for the Democrats. Their extremism, moral derangement, and disregard for liberty and basic human decency were put on display for all to see. Democratic presidential hopefuls applauded child abuse, announced plans to violate the First Amendment, and called for tax payer funding of genital mutilation procedures, among other things. Of course the moderators were only there to prop up and support the candidates. At no point was any candidate asked anything approaching a tough or penetrating question. Indeed, even when Beto O’Rourke called for the revocation of tax exempt status of churches that support biblical marriage, the moderator didn’t think to ask whether mosques should be punished as well.

But in an alternative universe where the media displays an interest in scrutinizing Democrats with even a fraction of the zeal and intensity with which Republicans are scrutinized, here are two very basic questions, relevant to last night’s town hall, that would surely be asked of every candidate:

They believe — or pretend to believe — that men can get pregnant, and women can have penises, and a little boy might discover through some mystical revelation that he has a little girl trapped inside his boyish shell. None of these people ever hinted at harboring such notions until very recently. In fact, for their whole careers, they have spoken of “women’s issues,” making it very clear that a subject like abortion is exclusively a concern of women. But if men can get pregnant, then the whole category of “women’s issues” is meaningless. There are no women’s issues or men’s issues because there is no definable difference between those two groups. That is the position now taken by every Democratic candidate. Why? What changed? These are questions an honest media would ask.</div>

Okay, you don’t think the terms “woman” and “man” can be defined biologically. How, then, can they be defined? What is a woman? What is a man? What do you mean when you use these words? You do still use them, after all. You must have some meaning in mind. Explain your meaning. You insist that a man who identifies as a woman is a woman. Fine. What does that mean? He is &#8230; what? A woman, yes, but what is that? It’s not a human female, apparently, so then what is it? This seems like not only a fair but utterly necessary question if we will have any hope of understanding each other. I honestly don’t know what the Left means when they talk about women anymore. I have been waiting for one of them to offer some kind of definition, and so far, none have been able to do so. Maybe this illustrious group of candidates is up to the challenge.</div>

At yet another CNN town hall event for Democratic Party presidential hopefuls, former Rep. Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke (D-TX) once again peeled back the Democratic National Committee&#8217;s carefully crafted veneer of political centrism to reveal what the Left really thinks about bedrock American principles.
For weeks, O’Rourke has been touring the country to tell us all about his plan to take away America’s guns. Rather than embrace the importance of this Second Amendment freedom, O’Rourke continually doubles down, often invoking words you can’t say on television to emphasize his seriousness that, under his hypothetical administration, the American government will forcefully disarm its own citizens.
This has pushed some on the Left to turn their metaphorical guns on O’Rourke. These tepid rebukes of the erstwhile wunderkind who nearly toppled Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) sound more like, “Hey, don’t tell everyone what we really think.”
Having staked his position on the Second Amendment Thursday night, Robert Francis O’Rourke turned his attention to the First Amendment. Sagging in the polls, O’Rourke stood opposite CNN’s Don Lemon as Lemon read from one of O’Rourke’s plans. All the longshot presidential hopefuls have a plan, it seems. And every plan is fine-tuned for a niche audience. This was a plan for the LGBTQ+ community.
Lemon noted that O’Rourke’s plan praised freedom of religion as a fundamental right, but one that “should not be used to discriminate.” With that setup, Lemon asked, “Do you think religious institutions, like colleges, churches, charities, should they lose their tax exempt status if they oppose same-sex marriage?”
At this point, everyone in the audience knew what O’Rourke’s answer really was. But they also knew what he had to say if he was going to turn the corner after the primary to gain traction in a general election. True to himself, O’Rourke wasted no time in casting off the shackles of centrism. He told the world what the Left really believes.
“Yes,” O’Rourke says, “There can be no reward, no benefit, no tax break for any one or any institution, any organization in America that denies the full human rights and the full civil rights of every single one of us.”
Perhaps O’Rourke came to that conclusion after a discussion with someone in a Buc-ee&#8217;s bathroom. Perhaps it is what he has always thought. Perhaps he tested the answer in focus groups and has plans to double down on his answer in the coming days on the campaign trail.
Whatever the reason, O’Rourke’s answer is revealing for its honesty. While the Obama administration prosecuted nuns over birth control, it at least spoke in platitudes about “freedom to worship.” Celibate nuns may have to pay for birth control, but at least they are afforded a modicum of freedom to practice the worshipful elements of their religion.
Not so for O’Rourke. If a religious entity — religious colleges, charities motivated by religion, and churches adhering to two millennia of doctrine — disagrees with O’Rourke, it forfeits its tax exemption.
That’s a far cry from former Justice Anthony Kennedy’s promise in Obergefell v. Hodges, which emphasized “that religions, and those who adhere to religious doctrines, may continue to advocate with utmost sincere conviction” their religious beliefs regarding human sexuality. Indeed, Kennedy promised that “[t]he First Amendment ensures that religious organizations and persons are given proper protection as they seek to teach the principles that are so fulfilling and so central to their lives and faiths.”
Yet under an O’Rourke administration, Kennedy’s promise is only fulfilled when organized religion pays its own freight. Thus, Catholic hospitals, Muslim charities, evangelical soup kitchens, and Orthodox Jewish synagogues might manage to continue their good deeds, but only at a taxable rate. They must hope that their former donors are motivated more by the mission than by the tax incentives that have fueled the billions of dollars of charity that Americans have spread around the globe through religious organizations — charity that has relieved the American government from having to address it on its own.
O’Rourke’s plan has the high hurdle of a body of case law that makes it illegal for the government to deprive citizens of a protected right based upon the viewpoint of the citizen — but that’s not his point. O&#8217;Rourke knows that. Everyone knows that. Just like everyone knows O’Rourke has no legitimate path to presidential victory.
Rather, O’Rourke’s purpose is to expand the borders of the increasingly far-left Democratic Party. If a “churches lose their tax exemption” O’Rourke plan is too much. Then Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) “use [of] the Department of Justice to go after schools” plan is made more palatable and a Warren “pass the Equality Act” plan is practically mainstream. And so the entire political machine lurches just a little further to the left — comfortably on the road to total government control.
O’Rourke will not win the presidency. But he is not supposed to. Laugh, if you must, about his trademark flapping arms and insatiable desire to address crowds while standing on tabletops, but take with deadly seriousness his ability to say what his party is increasingly thinking.

On Monday, CNN advertised a new site that would be available for millennials to complain how their lives were harder than their parents. CNN tweeted, “Are you a millennial who feels like it’s harder to get ahead than it was for your parents? The data shows you’re not alone. Tell us your story at MillennialStories@cnn.com.”

As journalist Jesse Singal has <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2017/05/01/health/young-old-millennial-partner/index.html">pointed out</a>, there are two views of just which age group constitutes millennials. Singal noted, “I was born in 1983, which means I&#8217;m part of the generation, whether one uses the <a href="https://www.census.gov/newsroom/press-releases/2015/cb15-113.html">Census Bureau&#8217;s definition</a> (born 1982-2000) or <a href="http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/04/25/millennials-overtake-baby-boomers/">Pew&#8217;s</a> (about 1981-1997).”
CNN has been seemingly obsessed with courting millennials; they <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2018/10/07/politics/how-millennials-could-kill-politics-as-we-know-it/index.html">published a piece</a> in October 2018, just before the congressional midterms, in which they breathlessly stated:
<blockquote>Millennials could be one of the biggest political forces in America today, if they wanted. Defined by Pew as those born between 1981 to 1996, millennials make up about 22% of the US population, and at some point between November&#8217;s midterms and the 2020 election, they&#8217;re <a href="http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018/03/01/millennials-overtake-baby-boomers/">expected to surpass baby boomers</a> as America&#8217;s largest living generation. They&#8217;re a massive voting bloc, capable of setting policy priorities and swinging elections. They&#8217;re also grossly underrepresented in American politics.</blockquote>
Later in the same article, CNN did millennials’ complaining for them, lamenting, “Though millennials&#8217; experience varies widely by demographics, geography, and politics, they&#8217;re a generation shaped by experiences like the Great Recession, high levels of student debt, and the rise of social media.”
CNN was apparently loath to compare millennials’ problems with the Greatest Generation, which fought World War II, experienced the Great Depression, and felt lucky if they could go to college.
In November 2018, <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2018/11/16/us/monopoly-for-millennials-trnd/index.html">reporting on a new version of Hasbro’s Monopoly</a> titled “Monopoly for Millennials,”  CNN noted that Hasbro stated, &#8220;With many of us being Millennials ourselves, we understand the seemingly endless struggles and silly generalizations that young Millennials can face (and we can&#8217;t even!), so we created the game to provide fans with a lighthearted experience that allows Millennials to take a break from real life and laugh at the relatable experiences and labels that can sometimes be placed on them.”
Then CNN quoted one millennial complaining, “This is one of the biggest game/toy companies in the world making the fact that property ownership is impossible for most people my age into a jeering tag line. It&#8217;s patronizing. The whole thing feels out of touch with what my age group actually wants or likes. I feel like something like this would have been more well-received coming from an independent publisher who was poking fun at Monopoly itself, but this is the successful rich Uncle Pennybags who owns everything, sticking his tongue out at you.&#8221;
In contrast to CNN offering millennials an opportunity to complain, <a href="https://www.thebalance.com/money-lessons-from-successful-millennials-4169817">thebalance.com</a> reported in April 2019:
<blockquote>Bank of America’s 2018 Better Money Habits Millennial Report <a href="https://bettermoneyhabits.bankofamerica.com/content/dam/bmh/pdf/ar6vnln9-boa-bmh-millennial-report-winter-2018-final2.pdf" data-component="link" data-source="inlineLink" data-type="externalLink" data-ordinal="1">pointed out</a> that those born between 1981 and 1997 are <a href="https://www.thebalance.com/financial-health-of-millennials-4171826" data-component="link" data-source="inlineLink" data-type="internalLink" data-ordinal="2">doing just as well or better</a> than older generations when it comes to <a href="https://www.thebalance.com/how-millennials-should-handle-money-4120863" data-component="link" data-source="inlineLink" data-type="internalLink" data-ordinal="3">money management</a> and career confidence. Among the findings: 63 percent of millennials are saving, 59 percent feel financially secure, and 73 percent of millennials who have a budget stick to it every month, or most months.</blockquote>

CNN Offers Place Where Millennials Can Complain How Hard Their Lives Are

Making the “ok” hand symbol with your thumb and forefinger will now get you accused of racism.
CNN <a href="https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2019/09/26/us/adl-new-hate-symbols/index.html">reported</a> Thursday that the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has added the symbol to its list of slogans and symbols used by racists. The group concedes that not everyone uses the symbol in a racist fashion, but enough people have that it can be included in its database.
CNN and the ADL acknowledge that the hand symbol’s “racism” started as a hoax on 4chan:
<blockquote>The OK hand gesture and its link to white nationalism began as a hoax cooked up by users of the website 4chan, who falsely linked it to white supremacy, according to the ADL.
It was meant to bait the media or people with liberal ideals to overreact, ADL experts say, and therefore look ridiculous for condemning such an innocuous sign. But in 2019, the sign was adopted by some white nationalists.
&#8220;At least some white supremacists seem to have abandoned the ironic or satiric intent behind the original trolling campaign and used the symbol as a sincere expression of white supremacy,&#8221; the ADL posted in its report.</blockquote>
So, because some bad people took part in the hoax, the rest of us need to be careful when we use a common hand symbol.
“We believe law enforcement and the public needs to be fully informed about the meaning of these images, which can serve as a first warning sign to the presence of haters in a community or school,&#8221; ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said in a statement.
Other new slogans and symbols added to the ADL’s database include Dylan Roof’s haircut, a caricature of a stereotypical Jewish man rubbing his hands together (this symbolizes greed), and a 1980’s McDonald’s commercial featuring “Moon Man.” CNN reported that white supremacists have been making videos with the character with racist rap lyrics.
Also, “Diversity = White Genocide” is now on the list.
Ceding common hand gestures like the “ok” symbol to white supremacists sends its own message. It gives the racists the power to co-opt ordinary behaviors and allows the media and politicians to label innocent people as racists. Just look at <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/chicago-cubs-ban-fan-who-made-racist-hand-gesture-emily-zanotti">what happened</a> when a Chicago Cubs fan made the “ok” hand gesture and was deemed racist, even though the position he held his hand was actually part of a common game played by young boys. The “circle game” involves players trying to get others to look at the symbol while making it below their waist. If someone looks, they get a punch in the arm and teasing. But because the media and places like the ADL have deemed the “ok” hand symbol as racist, this Cubs fan was banned for life and branded a racist.
The media also has tried to do this with the original American flag designed by Betsy Ross. In July, Buzzfeed <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/buzzfeed-tries-prove-betsy-ross-flag-has-been-ashe-schow">reported</a> that because that version of the flag was displayed in the home of someone who belonged to a white nationalist group and by students who also displayed a campaign flag for President Donald Trump (remember, the media treats all Trump merchandise as racist symbols), then the flag is a common racist symbol now.

Anti-Defamation League Cedes &#8216;OK&#8217; Hand Gesture To White Supremacists

CNN White House reporter Jim Acosta clearly suffers from TDS — Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Although he touts himself as a neutral &#8220;journalist,&#8221; Acosta has repeatedly expressed his dislike for President Trump.
Acosta has even written a book about it, entitled &#8220;The Enemy of the People: A Dangerous Time to Tell the Truth in America.&#8221;
So it should come as no surprise that at a book promotion event in Washington, D.C., to once again bash the president, Acosta called him &#8220;vicious&#8221; and &#8220;nasty.&#8221;
&#8220;We have to ask ourselves, you know, it is relieving, it is cathartic to lash out at that guy on the TV screen,&#8221; Acosta told audience members at the Hill Center, the <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2019/09/23/jim-acosta-america-vicious-nasty-country/">Daily Caller</a> reported.
&#8220;I throw my beer cans at the TV screen, too, when they’re empty from time to time, but I think we also have to take stock of what we’re doing at home, what we’re doing in our communities. What’s happening in our daily lives that is contributing to this culture of just viciousness? We’ve become a vicious, nasty country,&#8221; he said.
Acosta then lectured the crowd about what they need to do.
&#8220;My concern is, is that we’re tearing each other apart. And this is the country I love, too. My dad, as I said earlier, came over to this country from Cuba, came over here in 1962, three weeks before the Cuban missile crisis. [They] moved to Northern Virginia, which is where I grew up. There was a Presbyterian church in Vienna, Virginia, that gave my dad and my grandmother coats and sweaters so they could stay warm in their first winter here in the D.C. area. They had never been cold before,&#8221; Acosta said.
&#8220;Are we still that country anymore? Did John F. Kennedy call immigrants rapists and criminals back then? No,&#8221; the CNN reporter said. (Trump didn&#8217;t exactly say that, either, but Acosta doesn&#8217;t let pesky things like facts get in his way).
Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said Monday that the Trump administration has put daily briefings on hold because of grandstanding reporters like Acosta.
&#8220;Ultimately, if the president decided it’s something we should do, we can do that, but right now he’s doing just fine and to be honest, the briefings had become a lot of just theater,&#8221; Grisham said on Fox News.
&#8220;And to be honest, the briefings have become a lot of theater. And I think that a lot of reporters were doing it to get famous. I mean, yeah, they’re writing books now. I mean, they’re all getting famous off of this presidency. And so, I think it&#8217;s great what we&#8217;re doing now,&#8221; she said.
Grisham says Trump has been more accessible than his predecessors, adding, &#8220;He’s his own best spokesperson.&#8221;

Acosta has seemingly been on a mission to get famous during the Trump administration. When the media operation at the White House decided to take the daily briefing off-camera — in a futile attempt to stop all the peacocking — Acosta bemoaned the move. &#8220;Make no mistake about what we are all witnessing. This is a [White House] that is stonewalling the news media. Hiding behind no camera/no audio gaggles,&#8221; Acosta wrote on Twitter in June 2017.
But Trump knew from the start that Acosta was seeking fame from his coverage. In May 2016, then-candidate Trump interrupted a peacocking Mr. Acosta and said, &#8220;Excuse me, excuse me, I’ve watched you on TV. You’re a real beauty.&#8221;
Last November, Acosta again made headlines when he refused to relinquish a microphone during a White House press conference, prompting top Trump officials to rescind his press credential. A furious Trump, pointing at Acosta, said: &#8220;I tell you what: CNN should be ashamed of itself, having you working for them. You are a rude, terrible person.&#8221;
