Actress Sophie Turner is suing her estranged husband, Joe Jonas, for removing their children from England amid their divorce proceedings.
The “Game of Thrones” alum filed a lawsuit in a Manhattan court on Thursday, per People magazine, demanding that the former couple’s two children, Willa and a 14-month-old identified as D, be returned to England.
The document asks for “the immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained” for what is being called “wrongful retention,” which began September 20. The outlet noted how Turner referred to England as their “forever home” in late 2022.
Jonas and Turner purchased a home there in April 2023 in anticipation of the actress working on the miniseries “Joan,” which was filmed over this summer.
Court docs state that they agreed that the children would go on tour with Jonas since he would have more daytime hours available to spend with them, but Turner said she had “hesitation” about that “temporary arrangement.”
Turner also alleged that their divorce came about “very suddenly” after an argument. She claims to have found out Jonas filed for the dissolution of their marriage “from the media.”
“The Father has possession of the children’s passports. He refuses to return the passports to the Mother and refuses to send the children home to England with the Mother,” the documents say. Jonas’ attorney confirmed to Turner’s team that he had the passports and would not surrender them, nor would he agree for the children to move to England.

Jonas and Turner were married in 2019. On September 6, they issued a joint statement regarding their split.
“Statement from the two of us: ‘After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,’” it said, as The Daily Wire previously reported.
“There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children,’” the post concluded.
An unnamed source told People at the time that Jonas and Turner had been having marital issues for months and spent “the whole summer” living “apart.”
The source added that they “haven’t gotten along in a while, but they’re hoping to resolve this all amicably.”
