Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have released a joint statement regarding their newly announced divorce.
The former couple filed paperwork this week to end their marriage of more than four years. The document said “marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken,” as The Daily Wire previously reported.
Jonas, 34, filed documents to end his marriage to 27-year-old former “Game of Thrones” actress in a Miami courthouse on Tuesday. They have two young children together: Willa, 3, and a second daughter who was named in the documents as D.J. She was born in July 2022.
Both celebrities shared identical updates on their respective social media accounts and turned off comments for the posts.

“Statement from the two of us: ‘After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,’” it said.
“There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children,'” the post concluded.

Fans noticed that Jonas had posted a photo of himself prominently wearing his wedding ring as divorce rumors heated up earlier in the week, but by Tuesday the couple’s split was confirmed. An unnamed source told People that Jonas and Turner had been experiencing trouble for months and spent “the whole summer” living “apart.”
The source said they “haven’t gotten along in a while, but they’re hoping to resolve this all amicably.”
“As far as custody goes, this literally all just happened, so they’re figuring it out in real time,” the source told the outlet. “They did have a prenup. As a family, they were based in Florida. The kids were with him the last few months, traveling with him with family while he’s been on tour. Sophie’s been working in the UK.”
Jonas and Turner kept private and didn’t typically discuss their relationship during interviews.
