Singer D4vd is not pausing his world tour following the discovery of a decomposing, dismembered body in the trunk of a car registered in his name.
The 20-year-old, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, is reportedly cooperating with the investigation. 
“D4vd has been informed about what’s happened. And, although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities,” his spokesperson said in a statement.
Los Angeles police are looking into the discovery of the unidentified woman’s remains, which were found in bags inside an abandoned Tesla that had been taken to the city impound. The car was searched after employees reported a foul stench coming from the vehicle.
Not much is known about the victim, except that she is 5’2” and had wavy black hair. She is also reported to have the word “Shhh…” tattooed on one of her fingers. Details were also released about the clothing she was wearing, but no updates were given on her age or race.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide, per <a href="https://www.foxla.com/news/la-coroner-releases-details-body-found-tesla-d4vd">Fox 11</a>, but no person of interest has been named.
“We know that we have human remains and we know they were contained within a vehicle,” said Alan Hamilton, LAPD Chief of Detectives.
“We are going to continue the investigation and when a determination is made that potentially there was a homicide, then it will transition into a homicide investigation.”
Burke first gained recognition on TikTok before being signed to Darkroom and Interscope Records. The “Romantic Homicide” singer has 2 million followers on Instagram and 5.4 billion streams on Spotify, per <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/09/10/entertainment/d4vd-criminal-case-takes-interesting-turn-murder-victim-idd-as-female/">The New York Post</a>.
His next show is slated for Wednesday night in Kansas City, Missouri.

Whoopi Goldberg is once again claiming that one reason she won’t retire from hosting “The View” is that she doesn’t have enough money.
The 69-year-old comedian discussed the situation during a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight. When asked if she was ready to slow down and enjoy her life, Goldberg replied, “Yeah, but who can afford to do that? You know if you don’t marry well, you gotta keep working.”
The interviewer pressed on that point, saying Goldberg may be someone who could afford to retire. “No, not by now. Not yet,” the “Sister Act” star insisted.
At another point, Goldberg said, “I’ve got to keep paying those bills, baby.”

This isn’t the first time the host of “The View” indicated that she hadn’t earned enough money to step back from her career. 
In November 2024, Goldberg indicated she was “working class” because she was still working.
“I appreciate that people are having a hard time. Goldberg and the other panelists on “The View” have been mocked for years for their stridently partisan opinions. They are currently in full meltdown mode over Trump’s second presidency, criticizing him for his stance on almost everything. 
Joy Behar, 83, also spoke with Entertainment Tonight, saying she wasn’t planning to retire either. She said it had to do with creativity, not finances.
“I just really like to write and create stuff,” she said. “Creative people don’t retire, they don’t resign, they just keep going,” she added.

It was announced on Wednesday that Taylor Frankie Paul, known for being on the popular series “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” would be the star for season 22 of the show. She confirmed the news during an episode of the podcast “Call Her Daddy.”

The Italian journalist under fire online for a controversial #MeToo and Black Lives Matter question at the Venice Film Festival is now defending herself.
Federica Polidoro sat down with “After the Hunt” stars Julia Roberts, Andrew Garfield, and Ayo Edebiri for an interview to promote the project. One moment from the conversation, posted to the ArtsLifeTV YouTube channel, has gone viral, with critics accusing Polidoro of being “racist” for directing one of her questions specifically to Roberts and Garfield, who are white, while being accused of excluding Edebiri, who is black.
“Now that the #MeToo era and the Black Lives Matters are done, what do we have to expect in Hollywood and what we lost, we lost something with the politically correct era?” she asked.
Despite the question not being directed at her, Edebiri jumped in to answer it.
“I know that that’s not for me, and I don’t know if it’s purposeful that it’s not for me, but I just am curious,” the star of “The Bear” said.
She went on, “I don’t think it’s done. I don’t think it’s done at all,” as Roberts chimed in with her agreement.
Edebiri went on: “I think maybe hashtags might not be used as much, but I do think that there’s work being done by activists, by people, every day, that’s beautiful, important work that’s not finished, that’s really, really, really active for a reason, because this world is really charged. And that work isn’t finished at all. Maybe if there’s not, like, mainstream coverage in the way that there might have been, daily headlines in the way that it might have been eight or so years ago, but I don’t think it means that the work is done. That’s what I would say.”
Garfield chimed in, agreeing that the Black Lives Matter and #MeToo movements “are still absolutely alive, as you say, just maybe not as labeled or covered or magnified as much.”
The exchange triggered widespread backlash online, with many commenters accusing Poidoro of asking an insensitive question while being dismissive of the only black actor participating in the interview.
Following the resulting backlash, Polidoro took to Instagram to defend herself in a lengthy post.

Pop star Sabrina Carpenter threw her support behind “trans rights” during her performance at the VMAs on Sunday night.
The 26-year-old singer made the overtures while promoting her new single “Tears,” a track from her latest album called “Man’s Best Friend.” After arriving onstage via a manhole, she was joined by a cast of dancers dressed in drag. They included known drag stars from the competition show “RuPaul’s Drag Race” such as Honey Balenciaga, Symone, Dashaun Wesley, and Richie Shazam. Colman Domingo, who also appears in Carpenter’s music video for the single, was also there.
The people in drag next proceeded to pull out picket signs with wording such as &#8220;protect trans rights,&#8221; &#8220;Dolls dolls dolls,&#8221; &#8220;In trans we trust,&#8221; “we are everywhere,” “for the theys and the gays,” and &#8220;If you hate you&#8217;ll never get laid.&#8221; That last message was likely a reference to Carpenter’s single, “Never Getting Laid.”

Carpenter seemed to allude to her stance later while accepting the award for Best Album.
&#8220;I&#8217;m just the luckiest girl in the world,&#8221; the “Manchild” singer said during her speech. &#8220;And I do want to say to my incredible cast and dancers and my queens on stage with me tonight: This world, as we all know, can be so full of criticism and discrimination and negativity, so to get to be part of something – so often more than not – that is something that can bring you light, make you smile, make you dance, and make you feel like the world is your &#8230; oyster, I&#8217;m so grateful to do that.&#8221;
The internet was not on board with Carpenter’s stance.
“Right after a trans person shot up a school in Minnesota? This feels insensitive tbh. Maybe I’m wrong?” one person <a href="https://x.com/HowieLynch_/status/1964861170940330337">replied</a>.
“Literally supporting a terrorist cult. So brave, so inclusive,” another <a href="https://x.com/thereal_bigjake/status/1964969382976823366">agreed</a>.
“Pushing the agenda in all of our faces,” <a href="https://x.com/Femola3030/status/1964862096111505666">echoed</a> a third commenter.
This isn’t the first time Carpenter made controversial moves. Last November, the pop singer was criticized for filming a provocative music video inside a Catholic church, which many critics said was disrespectful and blasphemous.

Kristin Cabot, the woman caught on camera in a romantic pose with a man who was not her husband at a Coldplay concert in July, has filed for divorce from her spouse.
The former Astronomer employee also left her position as Chief People Officer following the national attention given to the story. Now NBC News is <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/pop-culture-news/woman-seen-coldplay-kiss-cam-astronomer-ceo-files-divorce-husband-rcna229570">reporting</a> that Cabot filed a petition for divorce on August 13 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, in a process that’s ongoing.
The documents say that a hearing is scheduled in the family division of New Hampshire&#8217;s 10th Circuit Court on November 26.
The internet has been obsessed with the alleged Astronomer affair scandal since it was made public following the July 16th Coldplay show.
A viral video shows Byron, who is also married, and Cabot embracing one another at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, when the kiss cam landed on them. The couple reacted immediately, with Byron letting go of Cabot and stepping out of frame. Cabot had a similar reaction as she immediately hid her face and turned away from the camera.
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin called out their reaction. “Oh, look at these two,” the singer can be heard saying. “Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy.”
The popularity of the video spurred many fake reactions, including a faux statement attributed to Byron and images of a fake social media post attributed to Coldplay saying, “Starting with our next show, we’re introducing camera-free audience sections for people and their sidepieces.”
Byron has served as CEO of Astronomer since 2023, while Cabot had been with the company for less than one year.
Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, removed her last name from her Facebook account before deactivating it entirely just after the incident happened. Byron was on LinkedIn, but removed his profile in the wake of the scandal.
The Astronomer CEO resigned from his position, and the company attempted to do <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/astronomer-hires-gwyneth-paltrow-to-be-temporary-spokesperson-after-kiss-cam-drama">damage control</a> by hiring Coldplay frontman’s ex-wife, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, as their “very temporary spokesperson.”

Disney has a “boy problem.” 
At least, that’s what a recent Variety <a href="https://variety.com/2025/film/news/disney-marvel-lucasfilm-gen-z-1236494681/">report</a> suggests, quoting insiders at the company who admit the entertainment company has lost the interest of Gen Z men that the outlet describes as a “lonely, gaming-obsessed group who were hampered in their formative years by COVID-19 lockdowns.” 
Disney executives are now hunting for answers, considering every conceivable tactic from “splashy global adventures” to old-fashioned “treasure hunts” in an effort to lure young men between the ages of 13 and 28 back to the House of Mouse.
But for Bill Rivers, a bestselling author and former Trump admin speechwriter, the diagnosis is clear. The problem with Disney isn’t the lack of over-the-top projects. In the end, he says, Disney alienated their audience by forcing an ideology that undermined the same values it used to celebrate. 
When asked for his initial reaction to Disney’s alleged “boy trouble,” Rivers blamed it squarely on the stories being told.
“It’s self-inflicted,” he told The Daily Wire via an email interview. “They’re going to have to ditch an ideology that sneered at masculinity, chivalry, righteous honor, power for noble purposes, the warrior ethos – all these things that coded as toxically male – and accept these attributes are actually good and necessary for any healthy society and worthy of exploring in entertainment.”
“This ideology was obviously anti-men,” Rivers added, “but the kicker is realizing it was also perniciously anti-women because it drove men out of the places women wanted to engage with them. Disney’s already taken the first step by recognizing they have a problem; the next step is to remain stubbornly open to stories they would have discarded as too traditional. It’s a time for tradition. Traditional stories stick around for a reason.”
A return to tradition, Rivers argues, is precisely what Disney needs to survive. “Unfortunately for Disney, it’s both,” he said when asked whether the issue was about content or a deeper cultural disconnect. 
“On content, the boldest thing Disney can do right now is return to traditional storytelling – courageous heroes, nasty villains, and incredibly high stakes for believable characters who wrestle with timeless challenges like family, romance, revenge, redemption. You can tell these stories in outer space or [a] small town in Appalachia, because setting matters less than plot and character.”
The overarching failure, according to Rivers, is how Disney treated young men for years.
“Regarding Gen Z men, Disney still treats them as if they don’t matter when it pushes cash-grab reboots aimed at them and not works of art crafted for them. ‘Star Wars,’ ‘Minecraft,’ the new superhero slop – this is the warmed-over childhood content of Millennials and Gen Xers. Worse, you’ve got these ideological political messages shoved in there. It totally kills the story,” Rivers said, noting how young men “hate being told what to think.”
For decades, Rivers notes, Disney never faced this problem. 
“Marvel, Star Wars, even Pirates of the Caribbean kept this 13–28 year old demographic engaged. What changed? Disney was fortunate to acquire some of the most compelling storytelling in American culture with the original Star Wars and Marvel comics. But these franchises were products of once-in-a-generation geniuses who did the creative heavy-lifting half a century ago or more. Ideological execs have squandered this inheritance for a payday or used them as a vehicle to ram political messages down their audiences’ throats. That’s propaganda, not storytelling.”
And “great storytelling,” Rivers insists, is hard to come by because the content creators have to trust their audiences to come to certain conclusions. That will never work if the studio openly despises them. 
That’s why Rivers disagrees with the suggestion floated in Variety that this problem can be solved by building new franchises centered on splashy adventures.
“Gen Z males are hungry for brotherhood and purpose. They want demanding missions where success is deeply consequential not just for them but for the people they care about. In the content they consume, that can involve treasure hunts and globe-trotting, but those things are secondary. Confusing them for the core is misguided and probably extremely expensive thinking for studio execs.”
The Variety piece described young men as isolated, stunted by COVID lockdowns, and obsessed with gaming. Rivers sees a half-truth there. 
“They are lonely, but I take issue with the ‘gaming-obsessed’ thing because that’s not what they are really after. … The boys weren’t stunted by COVID but by the people who used it as an excuse to get more control over society. By and large, those people subscribed to the same bad ideology that is basically anti-male, anti-woman, and anti-civilization.”
When asked what’s missing in today’s blockbusters, Rivers said it comes down to three things: “Authentic brotherhood. Transcendent purpose. Patriotism,” he said. 
“I write about young boys trying to become men, and all three of those things are critical to that. My novel ‘Last Summer Boys’ explores this in the Vietnam War-era of 1968, but it was a bestseller in 2022 because those are timeless concepts that people desperately want to engage with.”
“As a society, we become the stories we tell about ourselves,” the author said. “Disney understands this, it’s just for so long they injected their stories with an impoverished ideology. The blockbusters that say ‘to hell with that,’ and bring back brotherhood, purpose, and patriotism will dominate. By the way, women love those stories too.”
Despite the current state of entertainment, Rivers remains optimistic: “Disney can absolutely turn this thing around. It’s an iconic American company with an incredible legacy. Just as important, the country is at a moment where we as Americans are willing to do the hard work of renewing and reviving our greatest institutions. Disney can change from within, but it should also recognize America has no shortage of incredibly talented writers and storytellers who love this country and are willing to work with them. Hire those people. Acquire their stories.”
In fact, Rivers believes Disney’s crisis could be a blessing in disguise. “Really, Disney’s ‘boy trouble’ crisis is a gift for the company. Because the opportunity for them is enormous, and I don’t just mean commercially. If Disney starts telling authentic, powerful stories that men actually want to see, they will capture a rising demographic and participate in a renewal of American culture in a way worthy of the greatest institutions.”
Disney already admitted they have a problem – a classic first step. Now they just need to go about solving it in a way that doesn’t alienate young men even more.

The passing of Native American actor Graham Greene reminded us of the Oscar-winning 1990 film “Dances with Wolves.” The film cast Greene as Kicking Bird, and his screen time with director and star Kevin Costner set the table for the drama.
The film remains beloved for its portrait of the American West, many warts and all. It’s also emblematic of Costner’s career, one dedicated to the great outdoors in the grand American tradition.
Few actors have clung to that mythos like Costner, from his directorial breakthrough with “Dances with Wolves” to his most recent venture, the “Horizon” saga. Along the way, Costner has explored the American wilderness on screens large and small, creating a genuine affection for his country in the process.

He didn’t sugarcoat the land’s flaws then, and he refused to do so in subsequent projects. America’s natural beauty and potential proved his constant companion.
It explains why he endures as more than just a movie star at the age of 70. He’s part of the cultural fabric. And, even when he’s taking political stances that anger a good half of the country, his treasure trove of goodwill barely takes a hit.
Costner famously got left on the editing room floor in 1983’s“The Big Chill,” even though his character’s fate powered the nostalgia-laced drama. Director Lawrence Kasdan made amends to the young actor by casting him in the ensemble western “Silverado.”

From there, Costner landed “The Untouchables” (1987), “Bull Durham” (1988), and “Field of Dreams” (1989), a run of hits few actors could match, then or now. That gave him the clout to start shaping his career on his terms. And that led to “Dances with Wolves.”
The film may appear “woke” in retrospect, showcasing a guilt-ridden white man coming to terms with his country’s cruelty to Native Americans. Costner grounded the Western epic with respect for all its elements – from historical realities to the harsh truths about frontier life. 
Such messaging is often found in movies with what YouTube film and TV critic, The Critical Drinker, famously calls “The Message.” Costner, however, refused to lecture without context or push an agenda without exploring that time and place from all angles.
“Dances with Wolves” brought the nation’s complicated history to life, not with finger-wagging asides but a three-dimensional portrait that couldn’t be denied.
And, in the process, he forged a connection with American storytelling that became his unofficial identity. Costner has worked constantly since that film’s release, and his career has hit the usual bumps along the way.
He returned to the American West repeatedly over the years, from the unsung 2003 western “Open Range” to 1994’s “Wyatt Earp.” The latter got overshadowed by “Tombstone,” released a year earlier and featuring an iconic turn from Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday.
And, when his career appeared to be on the downside, Costner teamed with rising TV producer Taylor Sheridan to anchor “Yellowstone.” The Paramount series wasn’t set in the 1800s, but its Montana backdrop and timeless themes connected to the stories Costner knows best.
How many modern shows reflect the natural beauty of a state like Montana? For Costner and Sheridan, it just felt like home.
At a time when even “hit” TV shows draw a fraction of the audience of prior smashes, “Yellowstone” drew huge ratings. The show’s 2024 finale drew north of 13 million viewers.

The Sheridan saga featured a sprawling cast, but Costner’s John Dutton anchored the show. Once again, the actor’s instincts and authenticity made the series matter.
Actors can only fake so much. Audiences see the now weathered star as a credible and engaging part of the American landscape. He leaned on that persona for not one but two FOX Nation limited series based on Yellowstone history – “Yellowstone One Fifty” and “Yellowstone to Yosemite with Kevin Costner.”
Costner’s cinematic passions came to a head last year with a project that may never be completed as he originally envisioned it.
Costner returned to the director’s chair for 2024’s “Horizon: An American Saga.” The old-school western cost him a pretty penny, and then some. The star used his sizable wealth to help fund what he saw as a four-part movie saga.
The first installment drew modest reviews and tepid box office results – just $38 million worldwide. The second chapter, already filmed, currently lacks a release date, although it debuted at the Venice International Film Festival last year.
The actor has been open about struggling to fund parts three and four, and it’s possible the saga will end with the second film.
The irony? Costner began dreaming up the story behind “Horizon” in the late 1980s, just before his directorial breakthrough with “Dances with Wolves.” His quest to turn the American West into a deeply personal film franchise may have been doomed by fiscal realities, but it’s in line with Costner’s creative self.
He loves America, from its natural splendor to its ability to let citizens dream impossible dreams. And nowhere is that more evident than in the great outdoors.

There’s a lot of buzz about the upcoming documentary, “John Candy: I Like Me,” which premiered Thursday at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
Candy was just 43 when he died from a heart attack in 1994 at the peak of his career, shocking the Hollywood community. The Canadian comedian worked with some of the biggest names in the business, and many, including Steve Martin, Bill Murray, Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara, Macaulay Culkin, Mel Brooks, and Dan Aykroyd, participated in the documentary.

The project was produced by actor Ryan Reynolds and directed by Colin Hanks, the son of actor Tom Hanks. The elder Hanks also appeared with Candy in “Splash” (1984). 
Culkin recounted how Candy served as a “paternal” presence on the set of the cult classic comedy “Uncle Buck” and was one of the first people in Hollywood to recognize that Culkin’s father was abusive.
“I think he always had that really great instinct,” Culkin recalled in the documentary’s trailer.
“I think he saw,” he continued. “Listen, even before the wave crested and the ‘Home Alone’ stuff was happening, it was not hard to see how difficult my father was. It was no secret. He was already a monster.”
“All of a sudden, the fame and the money came, and he became an infamous monster,” Culkin recalled. “He was already not a good guy. I think John was looking a little side-eyed, like, ‘Is everything alright over there? You doing good? Good day? Everything’s alright? Everything good at home? All right.’”
The actor said this was “a testament to the kind of man he was,” and said Candy “was just looking out for” him on set. He also mentioned Candy’s “paternal” presence in his life.
“It doesn’t happen that often. It actually happened less as time went on,” Culkin added. “I wish I got more of that in my life. It’s important that I remember that. I remember John caring when not a lot of people did.”
Candy’s other former co-stars and friends had glowing things to say about him as a colleague and as a person during the emotional trailer. 
“I can’t tell you what was right about John Candy, or what was wrong. But he was my friend,” Murray said. “And &#8230; I don’t wanna cry, but when you see him, when you see his face&#8230;.” he added, trailing off as he began tearing up.
Candy is famous for beloved films such as “Stripes,” “Splash,” “Spaceballs,” “Planes, Trains and Automobiles,” “Uncle Buck,” and “Cool Runnings.”
The documentary is said to include “never-before-seen home videos, intimate access to his family, and candid recollections from collaborators to paint a bigger picture of one of the brightest stars of the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s,” per the synopsis.
“It’s the story of a son, husband, father, friend and professional driven to bring joy to audiences and loved ones while battling personal ghosts and Hollywood pressures.”
“John Candy: I Like Me” becomes available on Prime Video starting October 10.

Comedian Druski, who is black, is being criticized for disguising himself in “whiteface” and filming himself pretending to be a racist NASCAR fan.
The 30-year-old entertainer, whose real name is Andrew Desbordes, covered his face and upper body in very realistic paint to make himself appear to be a Caucasian man with a farmer’s tan sunburn. He wore no shirt under a pair of overalls, and accentuated the look with an American flag cowboy hat, American flag tattoos, a mullet, and a beard and mustache combo.
Clips of the skit have gone viral, with the X clip of the bit racking up 84 million views.

The comedian targets certain people in the video, spitting at the feet of a passing black man and stopping another black man to say, “Are you lost, boy?” and spitting again. 
“Here’s to love. Here’s to honor. If you can’t come in her, come on her,” Desbordes says in a mock toast in the clip. The comedian also shouts the lyrics to Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the U.S.A.” while driving in a vehicle. 
Reactions to the skit were mixed in the comments, including from Druski’s fans.
“Notice how no white folk acted like you were? And WHY did you spit at the feet of black people? I wish you would go back and ask them how many times that happened that day — you treated them worse than any white person did I assure you,” one popular comment <a href="https://x.com/ThinkArchimedes/status/1963020832143196176">said</a>. “Always have to invent the racism.”
“So what you’re telling me is that blackface is back in style now?” one person <a href="https://x.com/chooseliberty_/status/1963268412081139755">wondered</a>.
Others supported the skit.
“If you can’t laugh at this, you’re a loser,” one person argued.
“Best video on the internet,” another commenter agreed.
“Deadass, some of y’all will find racism in literally everything and that’s pathetic,” another person <a href="https://x.com/saintz_tweet/status/1963040809919640025">said</a>. “If you’re really out here calling Druski racist, it just shows how slow and hypocritical y’all are. Bro’s just doing the classic Key &amp; Peele move … holding up a mirror to white folks acting extra. Like, it’s comedy, not a hate crime.”

Actress Robin Wright, best known for starring in cult classic films like “The Princess Bride” and “Forrest Gump,” as well as the Netflix series “House of Cards,” said she fled the United States in favor of life in the United Kingdom.
The 59-year-old star also described America as a “sh** show.”
“It’s liberating to be done,” Wright told The <a href="https://www.thetimes.com/life-style/celebrity/article/robin-wright-parenting-with-sean-penn-moving-to-england-and-my-new-man-gztccccv0">Times of London</a>. “Be done with searching, looking and getting 60% of what you wanted.”
“I love being in this country,” the Texas native said of moving to the coast of England. “There’s a freedom of self here. People are so kind. They’re living. They’re not in the car in traffic, panicked on a phone call, eating a sandwich. That’s most of America. Everything’s rush, competition and speed.”
The Golden Globe winner added, “Everyone’s building a huge house, and I’m just done with all that — I love the quiet. And I’ve met my person. Finally.”
Wright, who has been married three times before, moved to the U.K. with her current boyfriend, architect Henry Smith. The actress was married to outspoken leftist activist Sean Penn from 1996 until 2010.
She is one of several celebrities to leave the United States since Trump was elected president. Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi, Rosie O’Donnell, and Richard Gere are just some of the stars to leave. 
While Wright didn’t mention politics specifically while discussing her departure from the U.S., other celebrities were more explicit about their reason for leaving.
“We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, ‘He got in,’” comedian Degeneres <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ellen-degeneres-confirms-rumor-she-moved-to-united-kingdom-because-of-trump">said</a> of moving away permanently post-election. “And we’re like, ‘We’re staying here.’”
O’Donnell said she moved to Ireland to protect her trans-identifying child. 
“I miss many things about life there at home, and I’m trying to find a home here in this beautiful country,” the comedian said after her move overseas earlier this year. “And when, you know, it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back. It’s been heartbreaking to see what’s happening politically and hard for me personally as well. The personal is political, as we all know,” she added.

Rapper Snoop Dogg did not apologize for criticizing a gay storyline in the Disney film “Lightyear,” his rep said.
Rumors swirled that the recording artist was walking back his previous statement after a posted reply appeared on Instagram, which came from Snoop’s verified Instagram account. A video clip shared to Hollywood Unlocked included actress TS Madison discussing the controversy. 
The posted comment on the video from Snoop’s verified account said, “I was just caught off guard and had no answer for my grandsons. All my gay friends [know] what’s up, they been calling me with love. My bad for not knowing the answers for a 6-yr-old. Teach me how to learn. I’m not perfect,” it said.

However, according to multiple <a href="https://deadline.com/2025/08/snoop-dogg-my-bad-lightyear-lgbtq-comments-1236502279/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">outlets</a>, Snoop’s representative denies that the rapper made the apology himself, and also stated that no one on his team has admitted to doing so either. It’s unclear how the comment was posted from his verified account.
The 53-year-old recording artist, whose legal name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., sparked backlash from LGBT activists due to his remarks during an appearance on a recent episode of the “It’s Giving” podcast, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/snoop-dogg-calls-out-hollywood-for-lgbt-themes-in-childrens-films-theyre-putting-it-everywhere">reported</a>.
“What you see is what you see, and they’re putting it everywhere,” Snoop said before referencing the 2022 Disney film “Lightyear,” which featured a same-sex couple. 
“They’re like, ‘She had a baby with another woman.’ Well, my grandson, in the middle of the movie is like, ‘Papa Snoop? How she have a baby with a woman? She’s a woman!’” he went on.
The rapper said he thought,” ‘Oh sh**, I didn’t come in for this sh**. I just came to watch the g**damn movie.’” But his grandson wouldn’t let it go, and said,”’ They just said, she and she had a baby … they’re both women. How does she have a baby?’” 
Snoop said the whole thing “f***ed me up. I’m like, scared to go to the movies. Y’all throwing me in the middle of sh** that I don’t have an answer for.”
“It threw me for a loop. I’m like, ‘What part of the movie was this? … These are kids,” he added. “We have to show that at this age? They’re going to ask questions. I don’t have the answer.”
“Lightyear” screenwriter Lauren Gunderson defended the storyline after Snoop’s criticisms started circulating on social media. “So. I created the LIGHTYEAR lesbians,” she <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DN21gOmUDwx/?img_index=1">wrote</a> in a statement on Instagram.
“As we wrote early versions of what became LIGHTYEAR, a key character needed a partner, and it was so natural to write ‘she’ instead of ‘he.’ As small as that detail is in the film, I knew the representational effect it could have. Small line, big deal. I was elated that they kept it,” Gunderson went on. 
“I’m proud of it. To infinity. Love is love… I was proud to see a happy queer couple (even for a few seconds) onscreen. I know they got a lot of sh** for this inclusion, but stuff like this matters because beautiful love like this exists,” she concluded.
“Lightyear” caused a controversy leading up to its release due to the inclusion of a same-sex kiss, which was initially edited out, then restored in response to Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Bill, dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay Bill” by several legacy media outlets and leftists.
The film earned a paltry $226.4 million against a $200 million budget, meaning it likely lost money after factoring in marketing and other expenses.
