Superstar Joe Jonas confirmed rumors that his marriage to Sophie Turner is over after four years, with the singer stating in court documents that the “marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.”
The 34-year-old pop star filed documents in a Miami court house for the dissolution of his marriage to the 27-year-old former “Game of Thrones” actress, according to filings obtained by People magazine.
Jonas made the petition for the end of his marriage in the Florida county where the couple recently sold their home and raise their two daughters, the outlet noted.
They eloped in 2019 at a Las Vegas wedding chapel following his appearance at the Billboard Music Awards, People noted. They later had the official nuptials at an intimate ceremony a month later at Chateau de Tourreau in France. They started dating in 2016 and got engaged the next year.

The couple also signed a prenup and Jonas reportedly has asked that prenuptial agreement signed in April 2019 be upheld, NBC News noted. The singer also requested joint custody of their two daughters.
The news comes amid numerous speculation over the three-day weekend that their marriage was in trouble, with reports surfacing that The Jonas Brothers singer had sought a divorce attorney, NBC News noted.
One report suggested the couple hadn’t lived together for six months, TMZ noted, and that the kids have been living with him over the last 3 months and he’s been taking them on the road with him as he’s toured.
One source told the outlet that problems arose between the two stars because Turner “likes to party” and “he likes to stay at home. They have very different lifestyles.”
They were last seen as a couple in August at Yankee Stadium when Turner was at the opening night that kicked off of The Jonas Brothers’ tour, NBC News noted.
Sophie gave birth to the couple’s first child in July 2020, a daughter named Willa. And in 2022, the couple welcomed their second child, the outlet noted.
The famous pair kept their relationship mostly private. But in 2022, before the birth of their second child, Jonas opened up about fatherhood.
“You really don’t know what to expect,” the singer said. “I think [I’m] maybe a little less nervous [this time], but I’m just excited. It’s such an amazing part of life.”
“It’s been amazing to be a dad and to learn every day more about myself and what that’s like,” he added, noting that he was “very much looking forward to the future on all things.”
