A video from New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s office shows a man and a woman from the Office of Mass Engagement asking people to testify at the rent guideline board hearings. The man, named “Mohammed,” wears a keffiyeh, which is popularly seen as fealty to the Palestinian Arab cause.
The video shows them knocking at the door of a home and Mamdani answering, saying, “Tell me more.”

Mamdani’s elevation of the keffiyeh makes perfect sense considering that last month, he celebrated terrorist sympathizer Mahmoud Khalil. Mamdani proudly took to social media to announce that he welcomed Khalil, an anti-Israel activist, to Gracie Mansion to break the Ramadan fast. “Khalil led activities aligned to Hamas, a designated terrorist organization,” then-DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/anti-israel-activist-detained-by-ice-led-activities-aligned-to-hamas-trumps-dhs-says">announced</a> last year.

This action effectively axed several key protections for the Jewish community and measures aimed at strengthening ties with Israel:

Well, that didn’t take long.
Just months after ascending to the mayoralty on a platform promising a socialist utopia, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has discovered a minor flaw in his master plan: math.
On Tuesday, the man who spent his campaign effectively declaring war on the concept of success stood before the cameras to announce that the Big Apple is facing a budget crisis of &#8220;historic magnitude.&#8221; Looking at a deficit larger than any seen since the Great Recession, Mamdani — who apparently believes money grows on trees as long as those trees are planted in Central Park West — is now begging Albany for a bailout.
&#8220;We cannot close this deficit with savings alone,&#8221; Mamdani lamented, sounding less like a revolutionary and more like a college student who just realized their parents cut off the credit card. &#8220;We need new revenue.&#8221;

Of course he does. But where, exactly, does the &#8220;People’s Mayor&#8221; expect that revenue to come from?
Back in June 2025, when asked by NBC’s Kristen Welker if billionaires have a &#8220;right to exist,&#8221; Mamdani didn’t stutter: &#8220;I don’t think that we should have billionaires,&#8221; he declared, citing the &#8220;inequality&#8221; of it all. He followed that up recently with a TikTok-style stunt, filming a &#8220;tax the rich&#8221; video in front of Ken Griffin’s $238 million penthouse, the most expensive home in America.
It was a $6 billion mistake.
Forty-eight hours after Mamdani’s performance, Citadel — the firm Griffin already moved to Miami because of this exact brand of fiscal insanity in Chicago — <a href="https://nymag.com/intelligencer/article/ken-griffin-is-mightily-pissed-off-with-zohran-mamdani.html#:~:text=In%20a%20Tax%20Day–themed,full%2Dtime%20in%20the%20city.">sent a memo</a> that should make every New Yorker shudder. The firm signaled it might kill its massive redevelopment at 350 Park Avenue. We’re talking about a 62-story skyscraper, 6,000 construction jobs, and 15,000 permanent positions.
Keep in mind, Citadel employees have already poured $2.3 billion in taxes into New York’s coffers over the last five years. But in Mamdani’s world, those people aren’t &#8220;carrying their fair share.&#8221;
Now, with the golden goose currently looking at real estate in Palm Beach, Mamdani is crying &#8220;crisis&#8221; and demanding a &#8220;structural reset.&#8221; Translation: He’s run out of other people’s money and is desperate for a state-funded life raft to save him from the consequences of his own rhetoric.
Florida real estate developers are likely sending Mamdani thank-you notes. By treating the city’s largest taxpayers like villains in a comic book, Mamdani hasn’t achieved &#8220;equality&#8221; — he’s achieved an exodus. New York is learning the hard way that when you tell the people who pay the bills that they shouldn&#8217;t exist, they eventually take the hint and the bills go unpaid.
But don’t worry, New Yorkers. At least you have the &#8220;meaningful savings&#8221; Mamdani promised — right before he asked for a deadline extension because he can’t make the numbers work.

We have been importing the people who hate our country and wish to destroy it. They believe in Third Worldism, the philosophy that all the problems of the Third World can be laid at the feet of us here in the West. 
But there&#8217;s more. The people in the Democratic Party elite apparently believe that the West owes it to the Third World to destroy itself, or who view the Third Worlders as fellow travelers, helping them to accomplish that goal.
It&#8217;s time to talk about the seemingly irreversible slide of the Democratic Party toward deep radicalism that will destroy our country. But to understand that, we have to understand the existential crisis facing our civilization.

The video shows a very angry young woman marching. Behind her are a bunch of other people from what appear to be third-world countries, many of them Muslim countries.
Why is this important? 
Because this is, in its essence, what we have imported.
We in the West have imported people who hate our guts. And then there is a group of people in the United States who hate the systems, who have allied with those people to create a mass movement. That is what is happening with people such as Hasan Piker, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and Zohran Mamdani.
The basic idea among these people is that the reason other countries suffer is because the West did something wrong to them. Now, the West owes them something.
Therefore, if you are living in the West and you realize that it’s pretty great and pretty prosperous, but you feel alienated because your parents are from somewhere else. As a result, you blame your parents’ problems on the West that took them in, and you blame colonialism and colonization. 
The reality is that this female rapper is apparently from Syria and lives in Germany. 
Germany never colonized Syria. Ever. 
In fact, if you&#8217;re going to talk about the colonization history of Syria, you can talk about the Islamic colonization of Syria. Syria, of course, used to be a Christian country long before it was a Muslim country. But then it was colonized by Muslims, and then the Ottoman Empire controlled it for 400 years. The only Western country to control Syria in the last millennium was France for 26 years. The Assad regime controlled Syria for twice as long as France did. 
You may have noticed that in that entire description of Syrian history, Germany never came up. Germany just took in millions of Syrian immigrants and migrants during the Syrian civil war. 
Syrian refugees entered Germany when Angela Merkel decided to import a bunch of Third World refugees out of some sort of misplaced sense of guilt.
The narrative that is told by the Third Worldists is far too simplistic. The reality is that colonization has been a routine part of human history. It is not merely done by the West. Islamic colonization took over the entire Middle East, moved into Europe, and still controls large swaths of Africa.
There are all sorts of colonization efforts. It is worthwhile to note that the institutions set up by British colonizers made those areas more prosperous. In fact, the countries that retained British institutions, in particular, are the most prosperous countries in Africa, and the ones that reject those British institutions, those Western institutions, completely fail.
European colonization is responsible for the end of slavery in the areas where there is no slavery. It&#8217;s also responsible for the institution of systems and ideas such as private property.
The idea from the Leftists is that all the problems all over the world are the responsibility of the West. And then we decided that we should import all those people. 
There are about 4.5 million Muslims in the United States, up from 1.1 million in the year 2000, a 400% increase. That includes over 10% of the population of New York. Many of those people are undoubtedly decent citizens, but how many of them sympathize with the decolonial ideology of somebody like the Syrian rapper?
According to the polls, the answer is a lot. A recent poll asked how many British Muslims believe al-Qaeda planned 9/11. The answer: 4%.
Does that sound like a deradicalized population that loves the West? Another poll at the time of the Charlie Hebdo massacre a decade ago showed that two-thirds of French Muslims wanted Charlie Hebdo prosecuted for cartoons of Muhammad.
Does that sound like a philosophy that is in keeping with French standards of speech?
Today, some 57% of American Muslims believe that October 7 was at least somewhat justified. 
We can pretend away these ideological conflicts. It doesn&#8217;t make them disappear. We imported a lot of people who do not like Western civilization. 
That doesn&#8217;t mean all Muslims in the West don&#8217;t like Western civilization. I know Muslims who do, but the notion that importing millions of Muslims from third-world countries, or people from other cultures that don&#8217;t appreciate Western civilization, would be a good idea, is idiocy. 
That raises the question of why the West imported all of this in the first place. The answer is that there are a bunch of homegrown people in the West who believe our civilization is inherently guilty and ought to be torn down. They tend toward the Marxist Left. The Marxist Left believes that America was founded in sin, that America&#8217;s foreign policy and the West’s foreign policy more broadly have been about exploitation and evil.
The French existentialist and Marxist Jean-Paul Sartre wrote the foreword to one of the most important anti-colonial books of the 20th century, a book called “The Wretched of the Earth,” by Frantz Fanon. Sartre wrote: “We are all complicit in a thousand-year-old oppression. You know well enough that we are exploiters. Our precious sets of values begin to molt; on closer scrutiny you won&#8217;t see one that isn&#8217;t stained with blood.” 
He argued that we actually needed to import people from the Third World to destroy us.
The Marxists on the Left love this stuff. They are into this stuff. Suicide is the answer. Western values are evil, and they have to be destroyed.
In the United States, this is the coalition that&#8217;s taking over the Democratic Party. 
Why is the Democratic Party doing this? 
Some are doing this because they&#8217;re actual Marxists, and they&#8217;re happy to travel as fellows with Third Worldism as a front for their destructive goals. There&#8217;s a long history of that. Marxists in Africa worked alongside the Third World to fight the West.
And then there are Democrats who just hate the Right so much that they will find any ally, side with those people, and will treat any Democrat who works with Republicans, or at least any Democrat who doesn&#8217;t want to burn every single thing down, as a traitor.

Citadel CEO Ken Griffin has signaled he might nix his company’s $6 billion Midtown construction project over tax policy.
Citadel’s Chief Operating Officer Gerald Beeson slammed New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s recent “Tax the Rich” video in which the mayor promoted a new tax policy, invoking Griffin as an example.
“It is shameful that he used Ken’s name as the example of those who supposedly aren’t carrying their fair share of the burdens associated with New York City’s often costly and wasteful spending,” said Gerald Beeson. “In doing so, the mayor has once again manifested the ignorance and disdain of the elite political class towards those who have been consistently committed to building one of the greatest cities in the world.”
If the company moves forward with the construction project, it is expected to create 6,000 high-paying jobs and support 15,000 permanent jobs in Midtown Manhattan, but a recent email to employees hinted it may be halted.
“The project—if we move forward—will entail more than $6 billion dollars of spending,” the email read.
Pershing Square Capital Management CEO Bill Ackman also weighed in, arguing that Griffin contributes significantly to the city without placing demands on its resources.
“Importantly, non-resident owners of NYC apartments who leave them vacant for much of the year are not a burden on NYC schools, services, or other resources, while they drive growth in retail sales, restaurants, theater, and other important sectors of our economy,” Ackman said. “They also often support NYC nonprofits with donations.”
Ackman concluded with a warning, saying the mayor’s policies “will harm the constituencies he is supposedly trying to help.”
Mamdani ran his campaign on taking wealth from the rich and redistributing it in the form of city services like free buses and free childcare.
Figuring out how to pay for these policies has led to challenges for Mamdani, as his authority to levy taxes ends at New York City’s property tax — though the mayor constantly lobbies New York Governor Kathy Hochul to raise taxes.
The pied-à-terre tax that Mamdani claimed would apply to properties like Griffin’s $238 million penthouse is an example of how the mayor is exploiting new revenue sources. The new tax will apply to homes in New York City valued over $5 million. It is expected to raise $500 million, which will allegedly help address the $5.4 billion deficit the city is currently facing.

Mayor and also Satan’s glove puppet Mamdani’s plan begins with spending $30 million in taxpayer money to build a government grocery store in Harlem, where taxpayer subsidies will bring down the price of its food, allowing the store to drive local minority-owned grocery stores out of business so that the owners will be impoverished, then homeless. The price of the store, the food subsidies and new homeless shelters will be raised by taxing billionaires who will immediately exit the city en masse, reducing New York’s tax income to minus four dollars so that the government grocery shelves will be empty, and the impoverished people of Harlem will be forced to eat first cats, then rats, then cockroaches, then one another in what the mayor of New York and Prince of Lies warmly hailed as a “traditional socialist meal.”
Mamdani pledged the escaping billionaires would be hunted down by winged creatures of no recognizable description, after which a wall would be built around the city to keep them from trying to escape once again from the warm embrace of collectivism.
After that, the Malignant Spirit and Mayor said he would continue to devise new methods to fund his plans to destroy the globe with new taxes on earwax, daydreams, and friendly greetings, levied on any wealthy or upper middle class or middle class or starving former Harlem grocery owner who lives in New York or once lived in New York or once watched a movie that took place in New York or knew somebody who had. The exact value of the taxable items would be determined by a committee of bureaucrats selected for their ability to never have worked a day in their lives or otherwise created even a single dollar of wealth. These bureaucrats would be paid millions for their service, the salaries to be raised by taxing the benign invisible spirits who hover protectively over the cradles of newborn babes.
Many Republicans predicted that the socialist plan would destroy every hint of prosperity in the city, as anyone but a living tarpit of wickedness would know. But Mayor and living Tarpit of Wickedness Mamdani said he was unconcerned, because New York Democrats outnumber Republicans by more than two to one, and some 66% of Democrats look favorably on socialism, these being the same 66% of Democrats who look favorably on assassinating their political opponents, tearing the limbs off unborn babies then selling their remaining body parts, and repeatedly harassing total strangers to make them atone for the sins of white people, which include colonialism, the Grand Ole Opry Christmas Special, and the manufacture of electrical plants, which they invented, to power the manufacture of all the medicines and devices they invented to make possible modern life, which they also invented.

New York City&#8217;s most elite hospital gave more than a million dollars to an &#8220;anti-racist,&#8221; pro-LGBTQ+ theater company as it laid off a thousand workers, records reviewed by The Daily Wire show.
New York-Presbyterian has donated more than 1.3 million to the People’s Theatre Project since 2021, financial <a href="https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/133957095/202543189349306204/full" target="_blank" rel="noopener">records</a><a href="https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/133957095/202413189349304986/full" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> show</a>. In October 2023, Dr. Steven J. Corwin, then president and CEO of the hospital system, pledged to give another million to the theater — an arts program that &#8220;centers immigrants and members of the Latine, Black, and Queer communities&#8221; — to build a state-of-the-art performance center.
As the hospital was bankrolling the &#8220;anti-racist&#8221; organization&#8217;s quest to &#8220;build a world where the oppressed can find Liberation,&#8221; it was struggling financially. In May 2025, it <a href="https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/finance/newyork-presbyterian-to-cut-1000-employees/">announced</a> it was slashing 2% of its workforce, laying off 1,000 people. In 2026 it <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2026/01/16/nurses-describe-escalating-tension-as-nyc-strike-continues-00734336">came under fire</a> when it offered nurses a lower-than-requested annual raise, a cut the hospital blamed on the Trump administration&#8217;s economic policies.
In October 2025, Corwin <a href="https://www.nyp.org/news/newyork-presbyterian-leadership-transition-announcement">announced</a> he would step down in early 2026.
New York-Presbyterian&#8217;s reputation took a serious hit in the final years of Corwin&#8217;s 14-year tenure. It&#8217;s financial troubles came as it became one of the <a href="https://www.centernyc.org/urban-matters-2/enough-to-make-you-sick-curbing-high-private-hospital-costs#:~:text=New%20York%20City%27s%20private%20hospitals%20are%20some,than%20one%20percent%20of%20private%20hospital%20spending.">most expensive hospitals</a> in the country. In March 2026, the Justice Department <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-sues-new-york-presbyterian-hospital-anticompetitive-contracts-increase">sued the hospital</a> for &#8220;anticompetitive contract restrictions that deny New Yorkers the choice of lower cost healthcare options.&#8221;
All the while, it was supporting the People’s Theatre Project.
In October 2023, Corwin appeared with New York Governor Kathy Hochul and &#8220;Hamilton&#8221; composer Lin-Manuel Miranda to pledge $1 million to the construction of the Centro Cultural Inmigrante, a 19,000-square-foot compound featuring multiple theaters and a gallery, meant to &#8220;amplify the voices of New York City’s diverse immigrant communities.&#8221; The State of New York contributed $4 million.
“NewYork-Presbyterian is proud to support the People’s Theatre Project, and we look forward to the future of the Centro Cultural Inmigrante,” Corwin said. “This will be a space where members of the community can come together to create meaningful social connections, build a sense of belonging, and help enrich the community and New York City through the arts.”
It is unclear if the hospital ever made the $1 million contribution. Neither NewYork-Presbyterian nor the People&#8217;s Theatre Project responded to a request for comment.
The relationship between the hospital and the radical arts organization dates back to 2009, when it was founded by Mino Lora, a leftist who has called for defunding the police and served on New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani&#8217;s transition team. That year, New York-Presbyterian <a href="https://thepeoplestheatre.org/home/about-us/">partnered</a> with the group on &#8220;a health-focused theatre-making program for children ages 5–12.&#8221; New York Presbyterian’s Corporate Director of Community Affairs, Monica Hidalgo, serves on the theater&#8217;s board.
All told, NewYork-Presbyterian has given the People&#8217;s Theatre Project $1,312,500 since 2021. During that time, the theater has produced such plays as “The Diamond,” which “follows a group of detained immigrants who conspire against a dystopian government.” Earlier this month, it hosted a reading of the “Sombraluz,” a play about a marine whose life was “shaped by the trauma of Guantanamo Bay.”
The People&#8217;s Theater Project also hosts outright political events, including a “rapid response” and “safe space” to “share feelings, build resilience, and transform emotions into art&#8221; in the wake of President Donald Trump&#8217;s 2024 election. In January 2026, the theater hosted an “undoing racism” workshop.
&#8220;As an anti-racist organization, we believe in Equity for all,&#8221; the group&#8217;s website reads. &#8220;We see the full humanity and immense power that exists in immigrants, youth, people of color, the LGBTQIA community, and people living with disabilities. We work to build a world where the oppressed can find Liberation.&#8221;
The People&#8217;s Theatre Project<a href="https://thepeoplestheatre.org/education/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> works</a> with K-5 &#8220;young artists&#8221; to celebrate &#8220;their identities and communities&#8221; through theatre pieces and has a &#8220;social justice leadership program&#8221; for adolescents in grades 6-12. The organization also<a href="https://thepeoplestheatre.org/ptp-partnerships/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> partners</a> with elementary, middle, and high schools in New York City.
The organization views theatre &#8220;as a catalyst for change,&#8221; and its mission includes advocacy for progressive social causes such as dismantling systemic racism, immigrant rights, and LGBTQIA+ rights.
&#8220;Racial justice is an urgent priority because systemic racism persists in our society, perpetuating inequality at every turn,&#8221; the group&#8217;s <a href="https://thepeoplestheatre.org/advocacy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a> says. &#8220;Theatre serves as a powerful platform to confront and dismantle these injustices.&#8221;

“Theft is virtue.” “Stealing is altruism.” “Murder might be excusable.” “Burn it all down.” 
These are the principles of the radical Left. And that radical Left is increasingly embraced by the mainstream Democratic Party. 
You may have heard of Hasan Piker. There have been a ton of New York Times profiles of him. He&#8217;s associated with most of the major left-wing Democrats. He&#8217;s a podcaster and a Twitch streamer. 
He is also monstrously evil. 
He publicly advocates for hatred of America. There&#8217;s not a terrorist group, an anti-American, anti-Israel terrorist group, that he doesn&#8217;t support. He has advocated for violence against those opposed to his views. 
And the mainstream Left loves him. I think that&#8217;s because they think that he is bro-coded, meaning that he works out a lot, and speaks the way that your friends from high school might after they read the Communist Manifesto and smoked some pot.

He also zaps his dog, and is a socialist who is quite rich, but hypocrisy does not matter to these folks. Not one iota. 
When you speak of limousine liberals, this dude is a mansion Marxist. He&#8217;s worth millions and millions of dollars and owns a huge mansion in Los Angeles. 
He&#8217;s also willing to travel to Cuba — a communist hellhole where the average annual income is something like $150 — and party it up while rationalizing why he should have air conditioning in his nice five-star hotel. His outfits apparently cost roughly four times the annual income of a normal Cuban. He wore a Cartier ring that apparently costs $1,400, and Cartier sunglasses that cost roughly $1,300. 
But remember folks, he is a good Marxist, and he represents certain principles on the extreme Left: that America is evil, private property is inherently bad, and violence is often justified.
No principles of morality must be adhered to as long as you&#8217;re “fighting the system.” The ends of Marxist anarchism justify the means. They justify any behavior, so long as you are aligned with the ends, so you can have a really nice mansion, a $1,400 Cartier ring, and $1,300 Cartier sunglasses in Cuba. 
What we are watching right now on the Left is radical and dangerous leftist garbage.
The legacy media and the New York Times are trying to turn Piker into a mainstream figure. Inside the Democratic Party, they are succeeding. 
What we&#8217;re watching right now with the Democratic Party is beyond the intersectional wokeism that previously was the way of the future for Democrats. 
We are well beyond that now.
When people on the Right say “woke is dead,” woke may have died, but it&#8217;s been replaced by something else, and that is something older: third worldism. 
Third worldism is the philosophy that essentially every country on Earth that is poor is poor because of the West. The solution is to tear down the West from the inside. Global redistributionism, destruction of private property, and violence are all justified by the supposed evils of the Western system.
That&#8217;s not something new. That&#8217;s something quite old. 
In the 1970s, there was the Baader-Meinhof gang, also called the Red Army Faction. They were communists whose entire goal was to tear down the world of capitalism on behalf of Marxism.
They called for revolution. Ulrike Meinhof, the left-wing radical journalist who founded the group, famously said, “Protest is when I say this does not please me. Resistance is when I ensure that what does not please me occurs no more. Protest is when I say I don’t like this. Resistance is when I put an end to what I don’t like.”
That manifested itself in terrorism by the Baader-Meinhof gang. Meinhof actually wrote an essay defending the Munich massacre of Israeli Olympians by Palestinian terrorists.
That sounds a lot like the people defending Hamas&#8217;s massacre of Jews on October 7 while defending Hezbollah.
Which, of course, Piker has done.
Stefan Aust, who wrote a book on the Baader-Meinhof gang, pointed out that a poll at the time they were active showed that a quarter of West Germans under 40 felt sympathy for the gang. One-tenth said they would hide a gang member from the police, and prominent intellectuals spoke up for the gang&#8217;s righteousness. When the gang started robbing banks, newscasts compared its members to Bonnie and Clyde. 
This is nothing new. There&#8217;s an impulse in human beings that when they do not like the system, they believe it justifies violence, theft of property, evil, and terrorism.
Hasan Piker is one of these types. We&#8217;ve played clips of him on the show, routinely talking about violence against his political opponents. Now he’s done an interview with <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/22/opinion/shoplifting-political-protest-microlooting-whole-foods.html">The New York Times</a> in which he talked about stealing. He explained that he fully endorses crimes like robbing banks and stealing artifacts, saying, “I cheer on every news story of people that I see doing it.”
What a despicable human being. He also went on to suggest that you should steal from corporations. Of course, he also said he would not recommend stealing from taxpayer-funded grocery stores in New York City because the workers would be unionized. He also said you should be able to steal intellectual property.
The fact that this person is being mainstreamed by the Democratic Party shows you what the Democratic Party has become: a full-scale, destructive force in American life. 
This all culminates in Hassan Piker&#8217;s justification of murder. He&#8217;s not in favor of murder, you see. But he totally understands why United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson was murdered, saying, “That was a fascinating story for me, because Americans are very draconian about crime and punishment. They&#8217;re very black and white on this issue. And yet, because of the pervasive pain that the private health care system had created for the average American, I saw so many people immediately understand why this death had taken place.”
Permission structures for murder. “Of course, I understand why people were so okay with a man being murdered, because of course, it&#8217;s just social violence.&#8221;
Everything Hasan Piker doesn&#8217;t like is social violence. And social violence justifies and excuses actual violence. He can pretend he&#8217;s not excusing it as much as he wants. 
He has made statements such as, “I don&#8217;t have any sort of patriotism in my heart for America,” and “Liberals,  you need to be showing your opponent&#8217;s guts on there, okay? You need to be gutting them. You need to be shanking these and letting their intestines just ride on stage.”
This is who the Left is mainstreaming.
Zohran Mamdani is ideologically the same as Hasan Piker. They are exactly the same. Nothing Hasan Piker says is radically different from anything Mamdani says. 
A couple of days ago, Barack Obama was hanging out with Mamdani. Hasan Piker and Bernie Sanders have campaigned together.
This is now pervasive throughout the Democratic Party.

Earlier this month, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani stood at One Police Plaza and acknowledged that anti-Jewish hate crimes comprise more than half of all hate crimes in his city, even though Jews are only about 10% of the population. Yet when asked what message he wanted to send, he offered nothing more than a platitude about everyone belonging and everyone being cherished.
That gap between data and response is not merely political. It may become legal, and could become deadly.
Mamdani has staked his public safety reputation on precision policing, a data-driven strategy that deploys resources where the numbers point. It is a sensible approach, and the overall crime figures reflect it. But precision policing has a logical corollary: if the data shows one community absorbing 55% of hate crimes – more than five times their share of the population — a generic response is not neutral. When a strategy is explicitly driven by data about where crime is concentrated and who is being victimized, a deliberate decision to not respond with equivalent precision begins to look less like oversight and more like selective indifference. Mamdani’s approach presents three overlapping legal problems for the city.
The first is Equal Protection. Although the government may exercise discretion in enforcing the law, it violates the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment when a motivating factor in its failure to protect people from crime is invidious discrimination against a protected group, such as Jews or Israelis.
Mamdani’s public record already evinces a pattern and practice of such discrimination.
From the first days of his administration, Mamdani made a series of choices all pointing in the same direction: reduced protection for Jews and Israelis against rising antisemitic hate crimes. Mamdani deleted official statements about protecting Jewish New Yorkers, rescinded the city’s IHRA-based antisemitism order, and folded the Office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes into a broader Office of Community Safety. He also offers a constant drumbeat of anti-Israel propaganda, complete with false claims of genocide, apartheid, and racism, having the purpose and effect of fomenting hatred against both Jews and Israelis.
The Mayor insists that antisemitism be viewed in tandem with a purportedly equivalent threat to Muslims, his favored religious constituency, while touting a 140% rise in anti-Muslim hate crimes. But that is a false equivalence, reflecting deliberate indifference to the magnitude of the peril faced by Jews in New York. In the first quarter of 2026, Muslims were the targets of 12 (8.4%) confirmed hate crimes, representing an estimated 10% share of the population of New York City. The share of hate crimes did increase for Muslims, but from only five incidents in the first quarter of 2025. In all of 2025, according to the NYPD, Jews in New York were the victims of 324 hate crimes — over six per week — constituting 57.6% of the total, while 26 hate crimes targeted Muslims, 4.6% of the total. To insist that these are equivalent threats bespeaks sectarian bias not fairness.
The second problem for the city is municipal liability for that discriminatory failure to protect under Monell v. Department of Social Services. Under the Monell doctrine, a city can be sued directly when a constitutional violation flows from an official policy or custom. Monell cases are usually slow to build, because a pattern and practice of deliberate indifference usually takes a while to develop. Mamdani is an exception. He is constructing a record against the city, in public, in real time. Every statement minimizing antisemitism, every decision to dilute targeted protections, every press conference where he recites the numbers and then changes the subject, is a tile in the Monell mosaic. The evidentiary foundation for a Monell claim against the city is being delivered from the Mayor&#8217;s podium.
The third looming implication for the city is federal liability. Under 34 U.S.C. §12601, the Department of Justice has authority to investigate and sue local law enforcement agencies for engaging in a pattern or practice of conduct that deprives persons of constitutional rights. This statute has been used for decades to go after cities that over-police minority communities. There is no legal reason it cannot work in the opposite direction, against a city that systematically under-protects one. The federal government could also withdraw funding from the city for law enforcement programs (or even more broadly), or seek refunds of prior grants, on the grounds that the city is violating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which applies to all federal grant recipients.
A formal complaint to the DOJ Civil Rights Division, grounded in the NYPD&#8217;s published hate crime data, calling for an investigation into New York City&#8217;s response to antisemitic hate crimes, would be unprecedented. It would also be legally sound. The data and public course of conduct by Mamdani are more than enough to suggest the sort of pattern and practice that warrants the federal scrutiny of an in-depth DOJ investigation.
Of course, the NYPD does not ignore these crimes entirely. Commissioner Tisch, to her credit, has often spoken about the issue. But when the policymaker at the top repeatedly signals that anti-Jewish targeting will be met with indifference and abstraction rather than attention and action or raises “concerns” about even modest efforts to stop protesters from besieging Jewish worshippers, or announces that if he cannot get the Commissioner to agree to dismantle the Strategic Response Group he will simply overrule her, that travels down the chain of command to impact how scenes are policed, and how cases are classified, investigated, prioritized, and deterred.
Nor must the legal record wait until the worst facts arrive. Thankfully, where plaintiffs can show a cognizable threat of ongoing unequal treatment, declaratory and injunctive remedies may be available before irreparable harm is inflicted. If we build the record now, there is still time for a course correction before even more crimes occur.
Mayor Mamdani said the numbers tell an indisputable story. He is right. The story they tell is that Jewish New Yorkers are the most targeted minority in the city he governs, that hate crimes are a rising threat, and that his response has been at best, generic, and at worst, corrosively hostile.
Equal protection means something. Monell means something. Federal authority over civil rights means something. The law does not wait for a mayor to get around to caring, and neither should we.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, the democratic socialist darling, trotted out the old Tupac line that he’d obviously rehearsed dozens of times:

He&#8217;s pointing at the war in Iran, claiming the federal government has blown &#8220;upwards of 28 billion dollars killing thousands of people&#8221; while American families scrape by. It&#8217;s a tidy little sermon. It&#8217;s also a complete lie. Never mind that this same crowd spent the Biden years printing money and throwing it around like confetti, igniting the inflation that actually hammered grocery bills and gas prices.
Mamdani’s claim isn’t just wrong, it’s a deliberate con designed to make you feel guilty for wanting a strong country.
According to the latest breakdowns of total U.S. government spending (federal plus state and local, roughly $11 trillion for FY 2025), we are not a nation that “always has money for war.” National defense clocks in at a measly eight percent. Meanwhile, social welfare programs and education gobble up a combined 66 percent when you include veterans’ benefits. Two-thirds of the entire pie goes to the very “feed the poor bucket” that the left pretends is starved.
Yet here we are, being told by the most useless political class on the planet that the military is eating the budget alive. It isn&#8217;t. Actually, we&#8217;d be far better off prioritizing national defense over the welfare apparatus that has spent trillions since <a href="https://www.heritage.org/poverty-and-inequality/report/poverty-and-welfare-the-american-founding">LBJ&#8217;s Great Society</a>, which somehow managed to entrench dependence rather than eradicating poverty.
Decades of data show us that <a href="https://www.heritage.org/poverty-and-inequality/commentary/assessing-the-great-society">massive spending correlates with higher single motherhood,</a> lower workforce participation among the able-bodied poor, and generational traps. Material hardship has eased thanks to the checks themselves, but the behavioral poverty — the broken families, the work disincentives, the “welfare cliffs” where earning a few extra bucks costs you benefits — has proven stubbornly immune to spending. Trillions of dollars later, and the Left’s solution is always more. Shocking.
This isn&#8217;t an argument against helping people in genuine need. It&#8217;s an argument against pretending we haven&#8217;t been trying, and it&#8217;s absolutely an argument for why national defense cannot be the scapegoat.
Funding the military isn’t just defensible, it’s non-negotiable. National Defense exists to keep the lights on, the borders secure, and the homeland from turning into a playground for our enemies. A strong military is not optional in a world full of revisionist powers like China, Russia, and Iran. It deters wars, not just fights them.
On Israel specifically, the one Mamdani loves to demagogue, U.S. aid is no blank check to “kill thousands.” It&#8217;s a strategic bargain. <a href="https://obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/the-press-office/2016/09/14/fact-sheet-memorandum-understanding-reached-israel">Annual baseline support r</a>uns about $3.8 billion, almost all of it spent on American-made weapons that flow back into U.S. factories and jobs. That&#8217;s roughly .34% of America&#8217;s total defense and intelligence budget. Israel spends around 6% of its own GDP fighting our shared enemies, extending American reach without us stationing endless troops there. That&#8217;s not charity. That&#8217;s leverage through intelligence sharing, missile defense technology, and a stable democratic outpost in a hellscape region. The alternative is ceding the Middle East to the mullahs and their proxies while we pretend isolationism works. It doesn&#8217;t.
If we&#8217;re going to talk about who actually mishandles money like a drunk sailor on shore leave, that&#8217;s the Democrats. The Joe Biden years proved it in living color. <a href="https://www.bls.gov/regions/mid-atlantic/data/consumerpriceindexhistorical_us_table.htm">Cumulative inflation hit 21.5%</a> from 2021 to 2025. Groceries and gas skyrocketed — <a href="https://www.bls.gov/news.release/cpi.nr0.htm">gasoline alone up 31%</a> — while real inflation-adjusted weekly earnings for private sector workers fell about 4%. Median household income, after inflation, barely budged or dipped in key areas. The &#8220;vibecession&#8221; wasn&#8217;t a vibe. It was working families watching their paychecks evaporate while the administration bragged about &#8220;record job creation&#8221; that included millions of people simply re-entering the workforce after COVID lockdowns they prolonged.
Yet Democrats keep floating a utopian wishlist like it&#8217;s free: paid family leave, free community college, universal healthcare. They sound like middle schoolers running for class president — and frankly, there isn&#8217;t much difference. They lecture Republicans about fiscal responsibility while their own policies ballooned the debt, fueled inflation, and left more Americans financially strained than at any point in recent memory.
The hypocrisy is Olympic-level. They want America naked and vulnerable so the scavengers — China, Iran, cartels, Leftists — can feast. Weakness is the point. A strong military requires priorities, and our military deserves the best because they are the best. However, the left’s vision requires an endless spigot of other people&#8217;s money and a populace too distracted by bread and circuses to notice the empire of debt rising around them.
No one is saying we should cut every social program tomorrow or ignore the genuinely needy. But pretending the military is the budget villain while two-thirds of spending flows into programs that have failed to break the cycle of poverty is gaslighting on an industrial scale.
The left doesn&#8217;t want to feed the poor. They want to buy votes and erode self-reliance. They don&#8217;t want a robust defense. They want a paper tiger that easily folds to third-worldism.
If this country takes its governing cues from a failed rapper turned big-city mayor whose deepest policy insight comes from a 1990s rap lyric, we&#8217;re going to need that military a lot sooner than we think.

On Monday, the New York Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD)—which enforces housing laws on private landlords—released a video that was a photo-op for Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
Mamdani accompanied inspectors as they toured a private apartment building. The resulting video—a textbook photo-op—captured the mayor and inspectors pointing out minor infractions like faulty window balances and flower pots on fire escapes. While Mamdani framed the event as a victory for &#8220;accountability,&#8221; critics see it as a calculated distraction from the catastrophic state of the city’s own housing empire and a precursor to a massive, taxpayer-funded spending spree.
Mamdani’s rhetoric was unmistakable. Urging residents to flood the 311 system, he promised to &#8220;hold landlords accountable&#8221; for every broken plaster patch.

This aggressive posture toward the private sector is a cornerstone of the Mamdani administration, which has effectively declared war on private property through its &#8220;Rental Ripoff&#8221; hearing series. Led by Director of Tenant Protection Cea Weaver—who has infamously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/marxism-in-the-metropolis-nycs-new-tenant-czar-has-targeted-white-homeowners-private-property?utm_source=chatgpt.com">labeled</a> homeownership a &#8220;tool of white supremacy&#8221;—the administration appears less interested in urban planning and more focused on what some describe as &#8220;Soviet-style collectivism.&#8221;
The irony of Mamdani’s crusade against &#8220;private slumlords&#8221; is the staggering state of the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). While the mayor hunts for missing window guards in private buildings, NYCHA—the city’s own public housing system—was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dozens-of-nyc-govt-employees-arrested-by-feds-most-single-day-bribery-arrests-in-doj-history?utm_source=chatgpt.com">buckling</a> under a $78 billion repair backlog as late as 2024. Residents there aren&#8217;t just dealing with flower pots on fire escapes; they face chronic infestations, lead paint, and broken elevators.
Mamdani’s attitude with NYCHA is one of &#8220;throwing money at the problem&#8221; while ignoring the rot within. In 2024, federal prosecutors <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/02/06/nyregion/nyc-public-housing-corruption.html">charged</a> 70 NYCHA employees in a massive bribery and extortion scheme—the largest single-day bribery takedown in Department of Justice history. These officials allegedly took $2 million in kickbacks for maintenance contracts.
Rather than addressing this &#8220;culture of corruption,&#8221; Mamdani has consistently framed NYCHA&#8217;s failure as a mere lack of &#8220;public investment,&#8221; ignoring that the agency collected a record-low 65% of charged rent in 2022.
Landlords, particularly those managing rent-stabilized buildings, warn that Mamdani’s policies are creating a self-fulfilling prophecy of decay. With financing costs skyrocketing and rental revenue frozen by city mandates, major providers like the Pinnacle Group have already been <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/after-weeks-of-one-sided-open-mic-complaints-mamdani-eyes-housing-power-grab">forced into bankruptcy</a>.
The message to New Yorkers is clear: the administration intends to squeeze the private market until it breaks, then step in with &#8220;collective&#8221; solutions funded by a city budget already facing a $12.6 billion gap.
While Mamdani &#8220;imagines&#8221; a better city for the cameras, the reality for many remains piles of rat-infested trash and a public housing system that remains the city&#8217;s most negligent landlord.
