Topline: President Trump ended his historic peace trip to the Middle East with a short stint in Egypt, where he led a summit on the future of Gaza.
After leaving Israel, Trump traveled to Egypt to cement “peace in the Middle East” by bringing the Arab and Muslim countries together. Trump went to the resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh to lead a summit with nearly three dozen world leaders and signed the “The Trump Declaration for Enduring Peace and Prosperity” alongside the leaders of Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar.
What comes next?: While many questions about the future of Gaza remain, Trump’s message in Egypt was optimistic: “Together, we&#8217;ve achieved what everybody said was impossible. At long last, we have peace in the Middle East.”
Israel has yet to recover the remains of numerous hostages. While those released alive have returned, the bodies of several victims who died in Hamas custody are believed to remain in Gaza, possibly lost amid the widespread destruction.

Humanitarian aid is flowing into the warzone after Israeli forces pulled back from the interior of Gaza for the ceasefire. According to Trump, Gazans will be assisted in the rebuilding of the enclave by foreign money and manpower, with much of it coming from Arab and Muslim countries.
Hamas intransigence: Under the Trump peace plan, Gaza is to be administered by a mix of Palestinian and foreign technocrats led by former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Their work would be overseen by a board chaired by Trump.
But Hamas must first give up any future role in running Gaza — something the terror group has refused to do. The plan also demands Hamas’s complete disarmament, another condition the group has not met.

Topline: The high-profile race for mayor in New York City is just three weeks away – and a new controversy has erupted surrounding the leading candidate, far-Left Democrat Zohran Mamdani. A <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/10/12/us-news/mamdanis-mayoral-campaign-took-in-13000-in-illegal-foreign-campaign-cash-records-show/">new report</a> alleges that his campaign potentially accepted thousands of dollars in illegal foreign donations.
Morning Wire spoke to Miranda Devine, a columnist at the New York Post and host of the Podforce One podcast, for more on this story. (The following transcript has been lightly edited for clarity.)
Morning Wire: We just had news break from the New York Post that Mamdani&#8217;s mayoral campaign took in potentially $13,000 in illegal foreign donations. What are the implications of this? Do you think Mamdani will be held to account – or will this affect the race at all?
Devine: I doubt very much. I mean, Democrats all over the country have been caught red-handed doing all sorts of nefarious things or threatening to murder their Republican foes and nothing happens to them – unless the federal government, the DOJ, perhaps under Pam Bondi, is ballsy enough to actually charge him. There have been plenty of other politicians, particularly on the Republican side, who&#8217;ve gotten into trouble and been charged and even indicted and convicted of this kind of foreign fraud or election fraud. I don&#8217;t see why Mamdani would be any different. On the other hand, we had Donald Trump indicted and charged last year during his campaign – and there&#8217;s something on the nose about, you know, three weeks before an election, about intervening in a sort of illegal sense, which I think would backfire in New York, which is 70 percent Democrat.
Morning Wire: Right, so that might actually work to Mamdani&#8217;s advantage if Bondi continues to be aggressive, as she has been on the national stage. We&#8217;ve also just seen Mamdani&#8217;s wife on social media openly mourn the death of a Palestinian influencer – a man referred to as “Mr. FAFO,” who celebrated the October 7th terror attacks.
Devine: Yes, look, I mean, repellent, but not surprising. This is an influencer who is a Hamas guy. He&#8217;s a Hamas fan. For Mamdani&#8217;s wife to be openly celebrating him on social media just shows how clueless they both are about the optics – in a very Jewish city – of celebrating the murderers of so many Jews on October 7. And particularly at this time when the hostages are coming back, when Donald Trump has managed to pull off this immense peace deal. It seemed churlish and sort of yesterday. She&#8217;s operating on a yesterday view. And it really shows you how he and his entire family are so unsuitable for any kind of leadership role, let alone in America&#8217;s greatest city.
Morning Wire: What do you expect in the next few weeks in this race? Are there any signs of Sliwa dropping out, or any movement for Cuomo – or does Mamdani have this wrapped up?
Devine: Cuomo has surged in the polls most recently, and that&#8217;s because he&#8217;s benefited almost entirely from Eric Adams dropping out. Eric Adams was at the bottom of the pile, not doing well at all. Curtis Sliwa is at 15%. In a very Democrat city, he really hasn&#8217;t managed to make a mark. And, you know, there&#8217;s a lot of push for him to pull out, so that it&#8217;s just a Cuomo versus Mamdani race. Cuomo is now at about 33%, Mamdani is at 46%. With Sliwa in the race, there&#8217;s really no hope. Cuomo, he’s starting to up his game a little bit. There are a few ads that are coming out. Mamdani is being booed and heckled wherever he goes. It&#8217;s been noted that he has a vast security force around him. … He&#8217;s such a smiling sort of Teflon candidate and Cuomo is battered and bruised and has enormous amounts of baggage he&#8217;s lugging around from his governorship. And yet, now Mamdani is starting to have some of the gloss come off him. And look, it&#8217;s really up to Cuomo in the next three weeks. Is he going to be able to convince Sliwa to drop out? Is he going to be able to put some more energy and pep into his campaign?
<h2 style="text-align: center;">Judges Block Trump&#8217;s Efforts To Deploy Guard To Blue Cities</h2>

Topline: President Trump says the deployments are needed to protect federal property and crush violent unrest in Chicago and Portland, but the efforts have been held up in the courts due to ongoing lawsuits.
The Trump administration is facing expected pushback from the sanctuary states of Illinois and Oregon, which don’t believe President Trump can federalize state National Guard from their own states, or from other states such as Texas and California, to come in amid a rise in anti-ICE demonstrations, some of which have turned violent.
Although judges in these cases say troops must stand down for now, the Trump administration is finding more ways to expand manpower in these areas. That includes continuing to pull Border Patrol agents from the border and ICE agents from other offices in other states.
The Trump administration is still pushing for National Guard deployments amid a 1,000% uptick in assaults on immigration agents. In the meantime, additional ICE officers and Border Patrol agents are deployed in Portland and Chicago to provide security, conduct immigration raids, and work in detention centers to process new detainees.
Missing children: President Trump inherited a massive crisis of lost alien children from the Biden administration.
John Fabbricatore is leading the Trump administration’s effort at Health and Human Services (HHS) to find the more than 320,000 migrant kids who crossed the border without parents and went unaccounted for under former President Joe Biden.
Some of these children were never even given court dates for their immigration cases, and others never showed. When children cross the border unaccompanied, they are sent to HHS, which is tasked with connecting them with their sponsor in the United States.
However, under Biden, HHS was vetting these sponsors with a phone call and a photo. As a result, many of these children ended up being trafficked and in very inhumane conditions.
Fabbricatore told The Daily Wire that the Trump administration is prioritizing not only finding these children, but also fixing the vetting system that allowed this tragedy to unfold. That means making changes to the system inherited from former President Biden.
The Trump administration requires sponsors and other adults living with them to submit their fingerprints to undergo background checks. Additionally, sponsors are required to submit proof of income to show they can support the child. Sponsors who claim they are related to the child will also undergo DNA testing.
Homeland Security agents also meet with the sponsor, and HHS officials visit the home to ensure it’s a safe place for the child. Migrants 14 or older can opt to leave with the help of the federal government, which will assist them in reconnecting with their families back home by offering flights and a $2,500 stipend. All of this is voluntary and has to be approved by an immigration judge.

The wife of New York&#8217;s socialist mayor hopeful Zohran Mamdani is mourning one of the most prominent Palestinian influencers, who openly celebrated Hamas’s October 7, 2023, massacre of more than 1,200 people in Israel and has been the tip of the spear on Hamas propaganda efforts.
Saleh al-Jafarawi, popularly known as “Mr. FAFO,” was killed over the weekend in the fighting between Hamas and other Palestinian clans, as confirmed by Hamas&#8217;s Al-Aqsa TV.
Al-Jafarawi gained attention after posting a video following the October 7 attacks in which he praised Hamas’s rocket fire. Shortly after, he recorded another video crying in fear during Israeli airstrikes, earning him the nickname “Mr. FAFO.” Among other allegations, Al-Jafarawi was <a href="https://x.com/afalkhatib/status/1977428544901845384" target="_blank" rel="noopener">accused</a> of raising $10 million to build a children&#8217;s hospital but keeping the funds.
Mamdani&#8217;s wife, Rama Duwaji, posted a tribute to him on her Instagram with broken hearts and calling him &#8220;beloved.&#8221;

In June, Mamdani was pressed three times to condemn the phrase &#8220;globalize the intifada&#8221; during an appearance on NBC’s &#8220;Meet the Press,&#8221; and each time he refused to do so. “The escalation between Hamas and the Doghmush clan reportedly began when members of the clan ambushed several Hamas operatives near the Jordanian Hospital in Gaza City this past Friday, shortly after a ceasefire went into effect,” the Jerusalem Post <a href="https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/article-870266">reported.</a> “Reports also emerged of summary executions carried out by Hamas against members of the Doghmush clan in Sabra, including claims that children from the clan were also targeted by gunfire.”

Mamdani’s Wife Mourns Hamas Operative ‘Mr. FAFO,’ Killed By Fellow Palestinians

Democratic socialist and current NYC mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani is under fire after an explosive report revealed his campaign accepted nearly $13,000 in potentially illegal foreign contributions — including $500 from his own mother-in-law living in Dubai.
According to a New York City Campaign Finance Board review and reporting by the <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/10/12/us-news/mamdanis-mayoral-campaign-took-in-13000-in-illegal-foreign-campaign-cash-records-show/">New York Post</a>, at least 170 donations came from individuals with foreign addresses — a direct violation of federal, state, and local laws that prohibit non-U.S. citizens or non-permanent residents from contributing to political campaigns. The donations, which include contributions from professionals in Canada, Germany, Australia, and the UAE, raise serious concerns about the legality — and integrity — of Mamdani’s campaign operation.
While Mamdani’s campaign claimed it would return any donations not in compliance with campaign finance law, records show 88 of those donations — totaling $7,190 — still haven’t been returned. A spokesperson declined to explain why.

Cuomo proposed “Zohran’s Law” to stop the affluent from stealing affordable units.
“You are a rich person stealing affordable housing from the poor,” Cuomo <a href="https://x.com/andrewcuomo/status/1954614957003440611">wrote</a>. “Let’s build a new NYC that works for the people who need it.”
With less than a month until Election Day, Mamdani — a self-described “Democratic Socialist” — finds himself at the center of a growing storm of campaign finance violations, ethics questions, and elitist hypocrisy.
The NYC Campaign Finance Board says it is auditing all campaigns — but declined further comment.

Critics across the political spectrum ripped New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani on Tuesday for a statement commemorating the second anniversary of the October 7 terror attack on Israel.
Mamdani posted a statement to his X account on Tuesday that reflects on the attack that marked the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust. After commemorating the “horrific war crime,” the self-described “democratic socialist” dedicated most of his statement to condemning Israel for perpetrating “genocide” in Gaza, citing fatality numbers from the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry.
“In the aftermath of that day, Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Israeli government launched a genocidal war: a death toll that now far exceeds 67,000; with the Israeli military bombing homes, hospitals, and schools into rubble,” said Mamdani, without noting that Hamas often uses civilian buildings for military functions, in which case those buildings <a href="https://ihl-databases.icrc.org/en/customary-ihl/v1/rule10">become</a> legitimate military targets under international law.
“Every day in Gaza has become a place where grief itself has run out of language. I mourn these lives and pray for the families that have been shattered. Our government has been complicit through it all,” he continued. “This must end. The occupation and apartheid must end. Peace must be pursued through diplomacy, not war crimes, and our government must act to end these atrocities and hold those responsible to account.”

The statement drew backlash from the Right and the Left. Dan McLaughlin, a senior writer for National Review, was one of many who accused Mamdani of victim-blaming.
“If Israel’s war *in response to being invaded* is &#8216;genocidal,&#8217; most of the wars fought in the past century would meet that standard on the part of most of the combatants, even those resisting the conquest of their country &amp; the enslavement or extinction of their people,” <a href="https://x.com/baseballcrank/status/1975601985505432051">said</a> McLaughlin.
MSNBC columnist Michael Cohen <a href="https://x.com/speechboy71/status/1975572563033309558">hit</a> Mamdani as well: “On the second anniversary of October 7, one anodyne sentence on how murdering Jews is bad. And the rest is yet another seedy, pejorative attack on Israel.”
David Frum, a writer at The Atlantic, <a href="https://x.com/davidfrum/status/1975560012404826408">posted</a>: “This is a genuinely useful statement. The chilly formulaic language about the 10/7 atrocity &#8230; the intense angry passion of the denunciation of Israel&#8217;s self-defense &#8230; together they arrestingly reveal what the author cares about and what/who he does not care about.”

GOP Rep. Mike Lawler of New York said that not only should Mamdani’s statement disqualify him to run for mayor, but that anyone who endorses the Democratic candidate should be out of American politics.
Mamdani has <a href="https://www.zohranfornyc.com/endorsements">gained</a> support from notable Democrats such as Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and New York Governor Kathy Hochul.
“This statement is beyond disqualifying — anyone who endorses him for Mayor is completely unqualified too,” Lawler posted. “Any New York Democrat who supports this insanity needs to be defeated at the ballot box.”
Mamdani’s statement <a href="https://x.com/IsraelMFA/status/1975598416097857604">earned</a> reproach from Israel’s Foreign Ministry as well.
“​​Two years after Hamas launched its barbaric massacre against Israel and the Jewish people, Mamdani has chosen to act as a mouthpiece for Hamas propaganda — spreading Hamas’s fake genocide campaign,” the ministry responded. “By repeating Hamas’s lies, he excuses terror and normalizes antisemitism. He stands with Jews only when they are dead. Shameful.”

Many Americans outside New York City are wondering why Zohran Mamdani, a young, media-savvy socialist, is the favorite to win the mayoralty of our most iconic metropolis.
It’s easy to ridicule Mamdani and his promises of a socialist utopia. But to counter the threat of resurgent socialism at the local and national level, we must understand why he appeals to our young people.
It’s partially that young people are scared. They’re afraid that the American dream — a good job, a house, financial security, health care, and a secure retirement — is out of reach, so the socialist message of controlled rent, free services, loan forgiveness, and other largesse is beguiling. They don’t really care who’s going to pay for it.
Older Americans realize the problem with this kind of mentality. For us, the argument against communism and socialism is, well, duh. Because we’ve seen it. But for millennials and Gen Z, there is no personal connection.
Unfortunately, they don’t learn much about it in their history courses either. Not only are they deprived of facts and unlikely to read long textbooks, but the woke curricula used in public schools expose students to much liberal dogma and “critical theory,” instead of just teaching them the dates and facts and how to draw conclusions from them.
To the extent that young Americans relate to the tyrannical regimes of the 20th century, it is to smear their political enemies as “Nazis.” This is, of course, a nonsensical attack.
But it also masks a bleak historical reality. As bad as the Nazis were, they were outdone in sheer scale of offense by the communists. Joseph Stalin starved <a href="https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cdp-2023-0051/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">millions</a> to death with his agricultural and economic policies. His internal political purges killed <a href="https://news.stanford.edu/stories/2010/09/naimark-stalin-genocide-092310" target="_blank" rel="noopener">over a million</a> more Soviet citizens.
In China, Mao’s supposed “Great Leap Forward” into communist utopia during the 1960s killed roughly <a href="https://www.asianstudies.org/publications/eaa/archives/chinas-great-leap-forward/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">30 million</a> people. A few years later, another <a href="https://news.stanford.edu/stories/2019/10/violence-unfolded-chinas-cultural-revolution" target="_blank" rel="noopener">1.6 million</a> perished in the Cultural Revolution. Pol Pot slaughtered <a href="https://www.cambodianmuseum.org/remembering-the-killing-fields" target="_blank" rel="noopener">two million</a> of Cambodia’s tiny population.
It may be too late for many millennials and members of Gen Z to grasp the lessons of these tragedies. Perhaps the only thing that will teach them that total state control never delivers prosperity and human flourishing is first-hand experience with “true socialism” in action.
But we still must continue the fight against socialism — and we can’t do that on the fumes of the past.
To combat the persistent threat of socialism, we must first offer a hopeful message by growing the economy, supporting family formation, re-basing education, and restoring fiscal discipline.
Second, we need to better inform the next generation by returning the school curriculum to basics and stripping it of Marxist theory. We should start by changing “Social Studies” back to History. That’s the proper framing — just teach what happened to K-12 students and leave the theories and ideologies until college or graduate school.

For those lessons to hold, it is essential that states like California, Illinois, and New York don’t bail out their cities for the consequences of socialist policies they voted for. Implemented unchecked, these will most likely reduce the tax base, increase debt, kill economic growth, and end in bankruptcy.
More importantly, the federal taxpayer must never assume the debts of the states. Mamdani wants to spend <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/09/27/us-news/mamdani-pledges-to-pump-another-100-million-for-free-lawyers-for-migrants-facing-deportation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">$100 million</a> on lawyers for illegal immigrants, up to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/03/nyregion/new-york-mamdani-free-bus.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">$800 million</a> on free buses, and millions on free child care, subsidized city grocery stores, public housing, and more. Maybe he’ll be able to tax city residents enough to pay for it. If not, it should be New York’s problem, not all of America’s.

He won’t be getting any of it, so what’s the point of voting for him?”
Mamdani, who has openly embraced socialist policies and swept the Democratic primary by promising a tidal wave of government spending, now finds himself directly in Trump’s crosshairs — and potentially cut off from the very federal cash he needs to make his utopian wish list happen.

<li>200,000 affordable housing units, partially relying on federal funding for NYCHA, which faces a $40 billion repair backlog.</li>
<li>A new Department of Community Safety to strip the NYPD of traditional duties like traffic enforcement and homeless outreach.</li>
</ul>
Where does Mamdani think the money will come from? Higher corporate taxes. He’s proposed increasing New York’s corporate tax rate to match New Jersey’s, slamming businesses with a 9% burden and suggesting he’ll yank tax exemptions from major universities to help fill the gaps.
But even if New Yorkers are willing to crush private industry with higher taxes, it still wouldn’t come close to covering the cost of Mamdani’s sweeping socialist plans. That’s where Washington comes in. Mamdani has floated plans that hinge in part on federal subsidies and funding for public housing and city infrastructure, although he has been conveniently vague about which federal grants or programs he expects to tap.
In Mamdani’s platform, he proudly touts ideas like converting private housing into “community land trusts,” gutting police responsibilities, and flooding the city budget with new departments and social programs. He’s even vowed to “Trump-Proof NYC” by using city funds to shield illegal immigrants from deportation.
Mamdani&#8217;s game hinges on the cooperation of the federal government.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced that he is dropping out of the race to serve another term.
In a lengthy video posted to X on Sunday afternoon, Adams thanked his mother, touted his diverse appointments, discussed the corruption case against him that was dropped earlier this year, and stated that he was officially ending his campaign to remain Mayor of New York City.
“It&#8217;s not always easy to see the impact of good policy in just three years. &#8230; I know some remain unsure of me after the unfortunate events surrounding my federal case. I was wrongfully charged because I fought for this city, and if I had to do it again, I would fight for New York again,” Adams said in the video. “And yet, despite all we&#8217;ve achieved, I cannot continue my re-election campaign. The constant media speculation about my future and the campaign finance board&#8217;s decision to withhold millions of dollars have undermined my ability to raise the funds needed for a serious campaign. I hope that over time, New Yorkers will see this city thrived under our leadership, the policies we put in place should be continued and expanded. I hope you will see that despite the headlines and innuendo, I always put you before me.”
Notably, Adams didn&#8217;t endorse any of his rivals during his video address.

Adams was running as an independent candidate against socialist Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who is also running as an independent after losing the Democratic primary to Mamdani, and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa.

Currently, the <a href="https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/mayor/general/2025/new-york/mamdani-vs-cuomo-vs-adams-vs-sliwa-vs-walden">RealClearPolitics</a> polling average has Mamdani at 44.4%, with Cuomo at 25.4%, and Sliwa at 13.8%.

New York mayoral candidate <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/zohran-mamdani">Zohran Mamdani</a> is handsome, charismatic, and a master influencer on social media. He is currently leading the race for the New York mayorship by 22 points. And now he finds himself at the forefront of a significant leftward lurch in the Democratic Party. 

A recent <a href="https://news.gallup.com/poll/694835/image-capitalism-slips.aspx">Gallup poll</a> shows that 66% of Democratic voters view socialism positively compared to 42% for capitalism, a stunning 24 point differential. Mr. Mamdani belongs to the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the socialist organization opposing Democratic moderates.
He doesn’t merely belong to it. By his own words he is such a vehement proponent of this collective that he advocates setting up safeguards to resist any watering down of the DSA vision once their candidates reach office. In <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yA13mlaiw1w">Mr. Mamdani’s speech at the DSA Convention on August 4, 2023</a>, he laid out his plan to have committees of socialists in office work together in order resist “corruption” from moderating influences of fellow &#8220;electeds&#8221; (3:15) and that “wherever we want to contest power we must not send that person into that chamber alone, we must make sure they remember they are a member of this organization” (13:40). He closes by declaiming, “solidarity forever and socialism forever” (14:08).
In an <a href="https://www.thenation.com/article/politics/zohran-mamdani-interview/">interview</a> with The Nation on February 18, 2025, he reiterates these commitments unequivocally, stating: “My political home is NYC DSA.”
In a statement issued on June 27, 2025, the DSA <a href="https://www.dsausa.org/statements/dsa-npc-statement-on-zohran-mamdanis-primary-win/">reaffirms their side of this ideological pact</a>, stating that Mr. Mamdani “never ran as an individual, but as a representative of a working class socialist movement.”
By his and his party’s own definition, Mr. Mamdani is not a Trojan horse for DSA policies. He is the incarnation of them.
Many New Yorkers believe that President Trump should be held accountable for Project 2025. Shouldn’t the same be true for Mr. Mamdani as it pertains to the platform of the very socialist organization he calls home?
Given our digital churn of accusation and recrimination, our atomized culture, and our different information silos, it is difficult at times to understand what we are voting for and what we are voting against. The nation — and New Yorkers — deserve a clear exploration of the policies and beliefs of their leading candidate.

Also troubling to imagine is the impact this will have on families and children, workers and small businesses, first responders and emergency services, and tourism and taxes.   
In 2024, the DSA updated its platform, removing the vast majority of specifics and boiling down each of their major policies to a single graphic and two sentence fragments.

The above policy “statement” has removed 98.37%  of what used to be there.
And every other section of the DSA platform has undergone similar shrinkage.
There are certainly various conclusions to be drawn from this, but it seems not unreasonable to conclude that the abbreviated blurbs are designed to euphemize, obfuscate, and conceal. 
On August 28, a mere three weeks ago, Mr. Mamdani <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/08/28/nyregion/mamdani-dsa-socialist-mayor.html">scrambled to distance himself</a> from a few of the DSA’s most radical positions, but despite countless interviews and appearances he has refused to adequately clarify, qualify, or explain the vast majority of positions of the movement that he claims defines him. Nor has he denounced his repeated ironclad vows to resist moderation and fight to enact DSA policies acting an instrument of the collective.
Don’t New Yorkers deserve to know what precisely they are voting for?
Don’t Democrats in general deserve to assess whether the DSA platform represents a winning message that aligns with American values and voters? Because these positions clearly do neither. And if Mr. Mamdani wins, the Democrats are going to have to answer for his positions and performance for election cycles to come.
Many in the party claim that no matter what Democrats do, President Trump and Republicans label them radical extremists in order to win elections. What will make this significantly easier?
The fact that in this case it’s true.
A victory for Mr. Mamdani will embody and solidify the most extreme positions within the Democratic party — positions that are clearly outside the norms of American politics.
Is it possible, many wonder, to even define American norms anymore?
It is.
In September of 2024, with a small post-partisan team, I conducted nationwide polling with a sample of 1,285 that found that the vast majority of Americans agree on virtually every major issue. 
The results are something to behold.

For this moment, one of these in particular is worth pausing for: I believe in gratitude, not grievance: 86% agree.
What I find most alarming in Mr. Mamdani’s camp is that I don’t see a crumb of gratitude over there. Not for America. Not for the city that welcomed him and his family and gave them opportunities to work and thrive. Not for the private and selective schools like Bank Street School for Children and Bronx Science that educated him. Not for the law enforcement community who kept him safe. Not for the systems that guarantee the freedoms he rightly enjoys.
No gratitude.
Just grievance.
In our own lives and relationships we know intuitively, as is true at a larger scale, that nothing good grows from the seed of grievance.
Imagine another approach. Imagine how powerful America would be if we unified gratefully around our vast agreement and drew from the brilliance, resources, and brainpower of our entire nation. Imagine how much stronger we would be to navigate the complex changes ahead. Imagine how we could compete and lead on the world stage.
Every moment in our current reckoning can represent a turning point. We can keep moving to greater extremes as Mr. Mamdani is planning to do. Or our leaders can reject radicalism, step closer to one another and the 80-100% of us who agree on virtually everything, and own the future.

CNN reported this week that the popularity of socialism among Democrats has soared from a paltry 7% approval in 2010 to more than 36% in 2025.
“Look at this, net popularity of socialism among Democrats,” CNN pollster Harry Enten proclaimed. “You go back to 2010, it was plus seven points. Look how high it is now, up like a rocket, up to plus 36 points. That&#8217;s a jump of nearly 30 points on the net popularity scale among Democrats in just 15 years.”

A recent <a href="https://news.gallup.com/poll/694835/image-capitalism-slips.aspx">Gallup poll</a> bolstered the notion that Democrats are turning toward socialism, noting, “For the first time, less than half of Democrats (42%) view capitalism positively &#8230; Stability in U.S. adults’ opinions of socialism obscures Democrats’ more positive views of it over time, from 50% rating it positively in the initial 2010 reading to roughly two-thirds in three readings since 2019.”
Speaking of the disparate views of Republicans, Democrats, and independents, Gallup pointed out, “Democrats are the only partisan group of the three that views socialism more positively than capitalism — 66% to 42%, respectively. Independents are modestly more pro-capitalism than pro-socialism (51% vs. 38%), while Republicans are overwhelmingly so (74% vs. 14%).”
“This is where the danger is for Democrats, because if socialism plays in Democratic primaries, it does not play in the general electorate,” Enten continued. “Net popularity among all adults, capitalism is on the positive side of the ledger at plus 12 points. Socialism way, way, way underwater at minus 18 points. So, that&#8217;s capitalism running away by 30 points over socialism. &#8230; something may play in Democratic primaries. It may play in the very Democratic city of New York. But among the general electorate, Republicans are salivating at the idea that they can run against a Democratic socialist being the mayor of New York City.”

Rather than discuss real solutions for New York’s public safety crisis, housing shortages, or spiraling budget deficits, Mamdani and Sanders devoted most of their energy to blaming the usual scapegoats: billionaires, corporations, Republicans, and of course, President Donald Trump. Mamdani railed against Trump’s tax legislation — calling it a “wealth transfer” — as if the city’s poverty and housing crisis suddenly began in 2016. He glossed over New York’s decades of Democrat mismanagement, choosing instead to indict the president for everything from hunger to homelessness.
According to Sanders, the United States is now an oligarchy run by cartoon villains, such as Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Rupert Murdoch. He lamented the “six media conglomerates” that supposedly control everything Americans read and think — somehow omitting the overwhelming liberal slant of most mainstream outlets.
For notable examples of how socialism fails, one need look no farther than countries that implemented socialist or communist policies, such as Venezuela, once one of Latin America’s wealthiest countries, which has suffered hyperinflation (up to 1,000,000% in 2018) and massive shortages of food and medicine; the Soviet Union, where its Marxist-Leninist communism led to famines (e.g., Holodomor in Ukraine) and economic stagnation by the 1980s; Cuba, which has chronic economic stagnation, or North Korea, where 2-3 million people died of starvation in the 1990s.

Radical Left On The Rise: Democrats Embrace Socialism, Handing GOP A Political Gift

In a move that underscores the growing arrogance of the Democratic Party’s far-left flank, New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani refused to endorse sitting New York Gov. Kathy Hochul for re-election just one day after she publicly backed his candidacy — a gesture that cost her political capital among moderates and independents.
After weeks of hesitation, Hochul, the embattled Democrat, finally bent the knee and endorsed Mamdani over the weekend. She published an <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/14/opinion/hochul-endorsement-mamdani.html">op-ed</a> in The New York Times, making the case that unity against Donald Trump was more important than her ideological rift with Mamdani — a radical democratic socialist who backs higher taxes, defunding the police, and “reimagining” capitalism.
But Mamdani, true to form, wasted no time revealing just how transactional the endorsement would be. Speaking to reporters on Monday, he <a href="https://www.nydailynews.com/2025/09/15/mamdani-declines-to-immediately-back-hochuls-reelection-after-she-offers-him-coveted-endorsement/">casually brushed aside</a> the idea of returning the favor. “My focus is on November,” Mamdani said, refusing to endorse Hochul’s 2026 re-election bid. He offered perfunctory gratitude for her support — then pivoted back to his talking points.
The message was clear: Mamdani is happy to accept Hochul’s help, but he has no intention of helping her fend off what could be a brutal primary challenge from her own left flank — or a general election fight against Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, who’s already blasting Hochul for supporting “a raging antisemite communist.”
Hochul didn’t simply endorse Mamdani out of genuine alignment. She did it as a calculated gamble — to shore up support among progressives ahead of a likely challenge from Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado and to boost turnout in NYC. And yet, Mamdani couldn’t even offer her the bare minimum in return.
This one-sided “alliance” is exposing the very rift that is tearing the Democratic Party apart. Hochul admitted in her own op-ed that she and Mamdani were “unlikely allies” and that they “don’t see eye to eye.” She explicitly distanced herself from his most extreme proposals — including hiking taxes on the wealthy and gutting the NYPD — while also noting concerns over antisemitism.
Meanwhile, other prominent New York Democrats like Sen. Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries have still refused to endorse Mamdani at all.
Stefanik wasted no time capitalizing on Hochul’s endorsement, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/stefanik-rips-hochul-for-backing-raging-antisemite-communist-zohran-mamdani?author=Hank+Berrien&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=1&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Stefanik+Rips+Hochul+For+Backing+%E2%80%98Raging+Antisemite+Communist%E2%80%99+Zohran+Mamdani">torching</a> the governor for “putting jet fuel on commie Mamdani” and vowing to save New York from the radicalism she said is destroying the state.
Hochul handed Mamdani a lifeline in the name of party unity. In return, he handed her political disrespect and strategic silence.
It’s the perfect encapsulation of today’s Democratic Party: “moderates” grovel to radicals as the radicals grind them down.

Topline: As conservatives rally following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the FBI says it’s investigating radical left-wing groups for potential ties to the killer. 
Among those being investigated is the far-left pro-transgender group Armed Queers Salt Lake City. It deleted its Instagram account shortly after the shooting, but a membership form online listed its core principles, which included “the armed and militant protection of queer and trans communities,” “trans liberation,” and an “organized revolutionary movement.”
The Bureau is also investigating a number of social media accounts that seemingly displayed foreknowledge of the assassination. In one instance, a leftist X user wrote a week before Kirk’s killing: “it’d be funny if someone like Charlie Kirk got shot on September 10th.” According to FBI Director Kash Patel, suspected assassin Tyler Robinson told at least one person beforehand what he planned on doing.
What they’re saying: White House Deputy Chief Stephen Miller vowed to channel his “righteous anger” to go after “networks” of leftists in a special edition of The Charlie Kirk Show hosted by Vice President JD Vance on Monday.
“It is a vast domestic terror movement, and with God as my witness, we are going to use every resource we have&#8230; throughout this government to identify, disrupt, dismantle, and destroy these networks&#8230; and we will do it in Charlie’s name,” Miller <a href="https://x.com/avaricum777/status/1967627688711250054">said</a>.

Topline: New York Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul has endorsed far-left NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, a sign that the Democratic Party establishment is moving behind the 33-year-old radical.
Hochul notably kept her distance from him during the New York City mayoral primary – Mamdani is an open democratic socialist and has some extremely far-left ideas, including the establishment of <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/04/05/us-news/socialist-nyc-mayoral-candidates-city-run-supermarket-plan-under-fire/">government-run grocery stores</a>. But Hochul’s flip could draw other prominent Democratic leaders into Mamdani’s camp.
Hochul said in an <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/14/opinion/hochul-endorsement-mamdani.html">op-ed</a> in The New York Times that she’s backing Mamdani because of his focus on “affordability” and resisting President Donald Trump.
Step back: Mamdani is favored to be New York City’s next mayor, barring some major shakeup – so Hochul will likely have to work with him. She is also running for re-election in 2026, but is so disliked by folks in the NYC suburbs and most of upstate New York that some politicos <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/09/14/us-news/ny-gov-kathy-hochul-expected-to-endorse-zohran-mamdani-this-week-sources/">believe</a> she’s trying to lean harder on the urban vote, where Mamdani has strong support.
Trump weighs in: On the heels of Hochul’s endorsement, Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115207991871277413">labeled</a> Mamdani the “‘Liddle’ Communist” and described his frontrunner status as a “rather shocking development, and a very bad one for New York City.”

Expert opines: Andres Martinez-Fernandez, senior policy analyst for Latin America at The Heritage Foundation: “This is a case which has a lot of question marks around it, and particularly with this sentencing, which is dramatic, over 25 years, for this person who just a few years ago was occupying the top office in Brazil, is very controversial at the moment. So a lot of Congress in Brazil and others are exploring very actively the need to take action to bypass this sentencing.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in response to the ruling that the United States would “respond accordingly to this witch hunt.”

Actor Michael Rapaport expressed his disdain for repeat offenders being released in New York City as a way of protesting the election of far-Left NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.
“I’m sorry you’re a psychopath. I’m sorry you’re mentally ill. But I don’t need you walking around me. I don’t need you walking around my wife. My wife was groped in New York City in broad daylight,” the 55-year-old comedian said.
Rapaport went on to relay the story of how his wife and her friend went to see a show in the city. After they left, they were walking down the sidewalk when a man approached her and “rubbed up on her.”

“Violated my wife in New York City,” the actor seethed during a clip from his podcast that he shared on X.
“I don’t want people like that walking around my wife,” he added. “I don’t want people that have been arrested 14 times, for whatever reason, walking around my wife, walking around my kids. Nor should you, and it has nothing to do with politics.”
“Put them in a f***ing zoo,” Rapaport concluded.
The comments were filled with followers applauding the celeb, likening his rant to a red pill moment.
“Watching a liberal metamorphosis into a conservative after life happening to them is like watching a caterpillar turn into a beautiful butterfly,” one person <a href="https://x.com/harr72247/status/1966914027600441545">wrote</a>.
“I love to see Michael’s complete 180 transformation. That’s what happen[s] when you start to see things for how they are and not what you’ve been told they are,” another <a href="https://x.com/TexasTraderOne/status/1967071669689696534">said</a>.
Once an outspoken liberal and critic of Donald Trump, Rapaport, who is Jewish, has come out publicly in support of Israel following the October 7 attacks and has begun to distance himself from the Democratic Party. Besides being a pro-Israel advocate, the comedian has also spoken about crime before, filming a viral video documenting retail theft at a Rite Aid in NYC in 2022.
Days ago, Rapaport spoke out against the way many people were reacting to the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
