The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control took decisive action on Thursday against individuals channeling tens of millions of dollars from Iran to Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed terrorist group that dominates Lebanon and threatens Israel.
The sanctions, issued under Executive Order 13224, targeted Hezbollah operatives such as Ossama Jaber, Ja’far Muhammad Qasir, and Samer Kasbar — key players in the terrorist organization’s sprawling financial network. Using Lebanon’s cash-based economy and unscreened exchange houses, they laundered more than a billion dollars since January 2025, funding terror operations, weapons smuggling, and Hezbollah’s entrenched control over Lebanese politics.
The Trump administration framed these sanctions as part of a clear policy: choking off Hezbollah’s financial oxygen to isolate Iran and protect American allies. Treasury Under Secretary John Hurley declared that Lebanon could only achieve freedom and stability by severing its ties to Tehran’s terror machine, <a href="https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/sb0308">saying,</a> “Lebanon has an opportunity to be free, prosperous, and secure—but that can only happen if Hezbollah is fully disarmed and cut off from Iran’s funding and control. We will work with our Lebanese partners to create a resilient economy that puts the interests of all Lebanese citizens front and center.” This action followed a consistent Trump doctrine — one that identifies Hezbollah as an Iranian tentacle and treats its dismantlement as central to peace in the region.
This focus on direct enforcement and partnership contrasts starkly with the Biden-Harris administration’s record of strategic leaks and policy hesitation that undermined Israel’s sovereignty and security. During Biden’s tenure, Washington repeatedly betrayed Jerusalem’s trust by divulging sensitive Israeli operations to the press. In September 2024, as Israel prepared a limited ground invasion of Lebanon to neutralize Hezbollah along its northern border, Biden officials <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/israel-said-to-inform-us-of-plans-for-imminent-limited-ground-op-in-lebanon/">leaked the plans</a> to The Washington Post, handing Hezbollah critical information and prompting public backlash. That act mirrored earlier episodes — such as exposing Israeli strikes on Iranian interests in 2021 and revealing covert cooperation with allies during the Obama-Biden years — each leak serving to cripple Israeli initiatives while shielding Iran from reprisals.
For years, Democratic administrations under Biden and Obama displayed the same pattern: rhetorical support for Israel paired with behind-the-scenes meddling. The Biden team joined United Nations efforts to shield UNRWA employees who aided Hamas, delayed the congressional notification of weapons transfers to Israel, and warned the Israel Defense Forces not to take Rafah, Hamas’s last bastion.
These actions echoed Barack Obama’s tenure, when U.S. <a href="https://www.frontpagemag.com/obamas-leaks-sabotaging-israels-defense-joseph-klein/">leaks</a> sabotaged Israel’s counter-Iran strategy.
By sanctioning Hezbollah’s financiers and tightening the noose on Iran’s proxies, the Trump administration demonstrates that America’s words are backed by action, not whispers to the press. While the Biden-Harris team played politics with leaks that endangered an ally, Trump draws a bright line: the enemies of Israel and the enemies of freedom are one and the same — and both will be confronted without apology.

In the weeks before the election, Virginia Democrats told voters that they condemned political violence and that Jay Jones was remorseful about his desire to shoot a Republican.
But hours after they won, their tune changed. Louise Lucas, the president pro tempore of the Virginia state Senate, appeared to suggest that she wasn&#8217;t angry with Jones for making the comments so much as she was angry that Virginians found out thanks to a &#8220;snitch.&#8221;
&#8220;Virginia is for lovers, not snitches,&#8221; she <a href="https://x.com/lashrecseaird/status/1985925971837403338">posted</a> on social media, alongside an artificial intelligence-generated video showing Jones <a href="https://x.com/SenLouiseLucas/status/1985915607540216144">kicking his opponent</a>, Jason Miyares, who was depicted as a dog.
The &#8220;snitch&#8221; comment appeared to be a reference to Carrie Coyner, a Republican delegate who Jones sent his murderous texts to, and who confirmed their authenticity to the National Review for a story that upended the election.
Coyner, the most moderate member of either chamber, was subject to a vicious campaign accusing her of &#8220;betrayal&#8221; by Don Scott, a Democrat who replaced Todd Gilbert – the man Jones wanted to shoot in the head – as House Speaker.
Scott is a convicted crack dealer, while Lucas operates a marijuana shop. The &#8220;snitch&#8221; meme was also reposted by Sen. Lashrecse Aird. All are members of the state&#8217;s Black Caucus, as is Jones. The &#8220;snitches&#8221; meme echoes the phrase &#8220;snitches get stitches,&#8221; a phrase used by inner city thugs to describe their practice of assaulting people who speak to the police.
The characterization implies that many people knew about Jones&#8217;s desire for political violence, but kept their mouths closed until Coyner, as Scott said from the pulpit of a black church and in a campaign ad, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/betrayed-virginias-house-speaker-targets-recipient-of-jay-jones-violent-texts?author=Luke+Rosiak&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=5&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=‘BETRAYED’%3A+Virginia’s+House+Speaker+Targets+Recipient+Of+Jay+Jones’s+Violent+Texts">&#8220;betrayed&#8221;</a> them.

The idea that Democrats were functioning with a Mafia-like code of omertà would also implicate Governor-elect Abigail Spanberger, who, at a debate, blamed the Jones scandal on Republicans who &#8220;held them for years so the public was unaware who had knowledge of these text messages,” implying she had no way of knowing about his tendencies until the primary had already concluded. But it would stand to reason that Jones would not conceal his hatred of Republicans from his fellow Democrats, yet be open about it with Republicans themselves.
After the National Review&#8217;s October 4 story showing that Jones wanted to put two bullets in the head of the Republican speaker and watch his children die, Democrats refused to disavow Jones, while saying that they opposed his rhetoric. After the assassination of Charlie Kirk and the attempted assassinations of President Donald Trump, being tied to such rhetoric seemed like a political liability. But Jones won with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jay-jones-who-fantasized-about-murdering-republicans-will-be-virginias-next-attorney-general?author=Luke+Rosiak&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=0&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Jay+Jones%2C+Who+Fantasized+About+Murdering+Republicans%2C+Will+Be+Virginia’s+Next+Attorney+General">53% of the vote</a>, only 2.5% behind the Democrat candidate for lieutenant governor, suggesting there might be little penalty among Democrat voters after all. The &#8220;snitches&#8221; comment wasn&#8217;t the only way that showed.
On October 30, the campaign bus of Republican gubernatorial candidate Winsome Sears caught fire, and Lucas said, &#8220;I&#8217;m glad to hear <a href="https://x.com/SenLouiseLucas/status/1983954336162926873">no one was hurt</a>.&#8221; As soon as Virginians cast their votes, her tune changed: She posted a doctored photo of <a href="https://x.com/SenLouiseLucas/status/1986088323517927625">herself standing by the bus</a>.

Lucas also echoed, rather than repudiated, violent political imagery after the election by reposting a comment that Lucas &#8220;planted that foot in [Gov. Glenn Youngkin&#8217;s] ass and ended his career.&#8221;
Lucas also reposted a comment calling her &#8220;ruthless,&#8221; and said she intends to redistrict the state (where Republican candidates received 43%, 45%, and 47% of the vote on Tuesday) has only a <a href="https://x.com/SenLouiseLucas/status/1985946539311702233">single Republican</a> in Congress.
That would involve a similarly ruthless move. Democrats enacted a 45-day early voting period, which caused some people to vote before learning about Jones&#8217; support for violence. But for purposes of amending the Constitution to get rid of nonpartisan redistricting – which requires giving voters the chance to punish politicians at the ballot box for trying such a move – they ignored the fact that many had already cast ballots before they initiated the controversial move, counting only Tuesday as the &#8220;election.&#8221;
Outgoing Attorney General Miyares issued an opinion saying that it would be illegal, but Lucas <a href="https://x.com/SenLouiseLucas/status/1983333834138759316">said,</a> &#8220;Your opinions are sh&#8211;. They&#8217;re f&#8211;king s&#8211;t.&#8221;
Lucas and Scott will be two of the most important figures in Virginia because, more surprisingly than Democrats&#8217; clean sweep of statewide races, Scott&#8217;s House of Delegates picked up 13 seats, going from a bare majority of 51 to 64, within spitting distance of a veto-proof supermajority. It was only 10 years ago that Republicans held a supermajority.
All of that means that the Democrats in today&#8217;s Virginia legislature are not like the Democrats of old. One who won a downballot race is Elizabeth Guzman, who once said parents should be criminally prosecuted for child abuse if they did not &#8220;affirm&#8221; their children as transgender. Guzman faced off against a fellow incumbent, Republican Ian Lovejoy, in his Prince William district due to redistricting. She defeated him 55%-45%.
In 2020, Guzman, a social worker, introduced a bill that redefined the term “abused or neglected child” to include one whose parent “inflicts, threatens to create or inflict, or allows to be created or inflicted upon such child a physical or mental injury on the basis of the child’s gender identity or sexual orientation.&#8221;
In 2022, she <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/virginia-democrat-bill-would-criminally-prosecute-parents-who-dont-affirm-their-kids-as-transgender">reintroduced</a> it and clarified that “It could be a felony, it could be a misdemeanor, but we know that CPS charge could harm your employment.&#8221; At the time, the bill was dead on arrival because Republicans controlled the House.
The situation is now very different.

With conservatives justifiably in despair over the election of Marxist-Islamist Zohran Mamdani as mayor of New York City, it is vitally important to remember that Mamdani has promised to eliminate the NYPD’s Strategic Response Group (SRG), which works hand in hand with the NYPD’s Counterterrorism Bureau (CTB).
Last December, Mamdani wrote on X, “As Mayor, I will disband the SRG, which has cost taxpayers millions in lawsuit settlements + brutalized countless New Yorkers exercising their first amendment [sic] rights.”

Current New York City Mayor Eric Adams has <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/11/05/us-news/nyc-jewish-groups-vow-to-hold-zohran-mamdani-accountable/">ripped</a> Mamdani for his suggestion, declaring, “When you start dismantling the pieces of the law enforcement apparatus that is specifically designed to carry out functions — that is extremely dangerous. A lack of knowledge and understanding of these roles really could harm law enforcement. There are no routine jobs in the police department. They can turn violent instantly. So I think it’s the wrong decision to do and we should never endanger public safety in the city. It’s not an experiment, it’s experience.”
The NYPD’s SRG was created in 2015 under the department’s Citywide Operations Bureau. It coordinates with NYPD’s CTB, which was founded in 2002 after the 9/11 attacks, in which radical Islamic terrorists killed roughly 3,000 Americans and destroyed the Twin Towers in New York City.
When the NYPD receives credible terrorist threats, the CTB assesses them and leads the response. The SRG is then deployed to provide tactical manpower — heavily armed, mobile teams trained for rapid containment, evacuations, or securing perimeters. The CTB provides the intelligence and threat analysis, while SRG provides tactical and crowd control capacity. SRG officers receive counterterrorism briefings and CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear) response training through CTB programs.
“The CT Bureau reviews possible terrorist targets and develops innovative, forward-thinking policies and procedures to guard against attacks, training first responders and specialized units and developing intelligence capabilities for detecting and preventing terrorist attacks,” the CTB’s website <a href="https://www.nyc.gov/site/nypd/bureaus/investigative/counterterrorism.page?utm_source=chatgpt.com">states</a>. “The bureau coordinates with federal, state, and other law enforcement agencies in intelligence gathering and sharing, and plays an integral role in the FBI&#8217;s Joint Terrorist Task Force.”
“Joint Terrorist Task Force (JTTF) is a multi-law enforcement agency that includes NYPD detectives and FBI special agents who investigate terrorism in the New York City metropolitan area and around the world,” the website continues. “Following the 9/11 attacks, the NYPD substantially increased the number of detectives assigned to the JTTF. This partnership with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies provides the NYPD with access to national level classified intelligence and the ability to analyze and share its own intelligence on the federal level.”
If the CTB discovers a terrorist cell, the SRG may prove vital in supplying the forces to target the terrorists.
And Mamdani wants to eliminate the SRG.

When the president announced that we might soon be taking &#8220;sweet&#8221; military action inside Nigeria, as he put it — in addition to cutting off all foreign aid to the country — he raised a lot of very urgent questions that need to be answered. The first question, of course, is what exactly this &#8220;sweet&#8221; military action will look like. Nigeria doesn&#8217;t have much in the way of anti-air technology, nor is its military capable of defeating LSU&#8217;s football team, much less the U.S. Army. So the options are pretty much limitless on this front — especially if you&#8217;re not a fan of the mercy rule or playing remotely fair. We could film the next Top Gun movie over West Africa in the next few weeks if we wanted to. And whatever you think of those movies, no serious person contests the fact that they featured some pretty sweet scenes.
The other important question that&#8217;s raised by Trump&#8217;s remarks is: Why are we sending any foreign aid to Nigeria to begin with? Why is there any foreign aid to suspend? When I asked that question yesterday, I genuinely had no idea what the answer was. I was aware of statistics showing that, since 2021, we&#8217;ve been sending roughly a billion dollars — yes, a billion dollars — every single year to Nigeria. And for the decade before that, we were giving them a half-billion dollars every year. Most of that money is supposedly earmarked for &#8220;humanitarian&#8221; and &#8220;economic&#8221; purposes.

And yet, if you look at the current state of Nigeria, it&#8217;s not doing so well, despite receiving all of that money from your checking account. It <a href="https://www.nigerianstat.gov.ng/news/78" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.nigerianstat.gov.ng/news/78&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1762364623124000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1LjBmIOUR6XmcQuhn_ZinR">turns out</a> that, according to the latest estimates from the United Nations Development Program, &#8220;63% of persons living within Nigeria (133 million people) are multidimensionally poor.&#8221;
Yes, you read that correctly. Sixty-three percent of Nigerians are &#8220;multidimensionally poor.&#8221; This is not, despite what you may think, a situation where Nigerians are so poor that they&#8217;ve entered another dimension. Apparently, according to the United Nations, being &#8220;multidimensionally poor&#8221; means that, in addition to having no money, you also have poor health, poor education, poor living standards, poor sanitation, poor housing, and poor access to electricity. In other words, being &#8220;multidimensionally poor&#8221; means you&#8217;re poor. And apparently, it also means that you&#8217;re entitled to billions of dollars from American taxpayers.
And that&#8217;s not all they&#8217;ve been receiving. Whether they exist in this dimension or not, Nigerians have also been receiving a very different kind of aid from the United States. It&#8217;s not all &#8220;humanitarian aid.&#8221; They&#8217;ve also been receiving very expensive planes.

In 2017, the first Trump administration <a href="https://qz.com/africa/1064752/boko-haram-nigeria-has-purchased-593-million-worth-of-military-gear-from-the-us" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://qz.com/africa/1064752/boko-haram-nigeria-has-purchased-593-million-worth-of-military-gear-from-the-us&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1762364623124000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1RolYFIgQtkWHke0jpQ0RB">sold a dozen</a> A-29 &#8220;Super Tucano&#8221; aircraft to Nigeria for $600 million, on the theory that they&#8217;d be useful in the Nigerian government&#8217;s fight against Boko Haram, the Islamist militant group. These &#8220;Super Tucanos&#8221; are turboprop aircraft that are mainly used for close-air support.
At the time, the Trump administration thought it would be a good idea to equip Nigeria&#8217;s air force with these fighters because Boko Haram (and other militant jihadi groups) had been slaughtering Christians and burning down churches since 2009. And Nigeria&#8217;s government clearly needed more firepower to deal with the insurgency.
To be clear, though, it wasn&#8217;t an idea that originated with the Trump administration. In 2016, a year before the Trump administration completed the sale of the fighters, the Obama administration had indicated that it was going to send these aircraft to Nigeria. But they backed out after Nigeria&#8217;s military bombed a civilian refugee camp by mistake, killing 90 people. Then, a few months later, the Trump administration took over, and they completed the transaction.
In the end, though, Boko Haram wasn&#8217;t defeated. Neither were other major Islamic militant groups in Nigeria. Several years after they obtained the planes from the U.S. military, the mass murder of Christians didn&#8217;t stop in Nigeria. In fact, it intensified. By some estimates — and I stress that these are very rough estimates — well over 24,000 Christians were killed in Nigeria from 2021 to 2025, while around 10,000 Christians were killed from 2017 to 2020. Every year, according to conservative estimates, at least 4,000 Christians are <a href="https://globalchristianrelief.org/resources/countries/nigeria/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://globalchristianrelief.org/resources/countries/nigeria/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1762364623124000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0GghmYY57ndyaI1J_Hcnr5">killed</a> because of their faith in Nigeria — more than in every other country in the world, combined. Many of these Islamist attacks take place in churches, farms, and villages.

In response to footage like this, and the massacres of Christians, here&#8217;s the framing you&#8217;ll see in the mainstream press. This is from the AP. See if you can spot the hole in the logic <a href="https://apnews.com/article/nigeria-christian-killings-claims-ted-cruz-insecurity-e9d2fb7ae02bd3169194fb60872bb3d4">here</a>:
<blockquote>While Christians are among those targeted, analysts say the majority of victims of armed groups are Muslims in Nigeria’s Muslim-majority north, where most attacks occur&#8230;. Analysts say Nigeria’s complex security dynamics do not meet the legal definition of a genocide.</blockquote>
Then there&#8217;s this analysis from an esteemed professor at NYU in the same piece:
<blockquote>If anything, what we are witnessing is mass killings, which are not targeted against a specific group,” said Olajumoke Ayandele, an assistant professor at New York University’s Center for Global Affairs who specializes in conflict studies. &#8216;The drumming-up of genocide might worsen the situation because everyone is going to be on alert.&#8217;</blockquote>
In other words, according to the AP and this professor at NYU, Christians aren&#8217;t being targeted for extermination by Muslims, because both Christians and Muslims are being killed in large numbers by extremist groups. That&#8217;s the logic. It&#8217;s not just Christians who are dying. Therefore, Christians aren&#8217;t being massacred. It&#8217;s a bit like saying innocent people aren&#8217;t being targeted by the Joker, because the Joker also kills some of his henchmen when they make him angry.
The problem, of course, is that in both cases that the AP is talking about, the Muslims are the ones who are doing the killing. Christians aren&#8217;t raiding Muslim farms and mosques and massacring everyone. Christians aren&#8217;t lining up Muslims and shooting them in the head because they won&#8217;t convert.
Muslims are committing those atrocities against Christians. And yes, they&#8217;re also killing moderate Muslims. They&#8217;re killing Muslims they disagree with. And on top of that, they&#8217;re also killing Christians, as part of their explicit goal of religious conquest and worldwide jihad. There&#8217;s an ISIS affiliate that&#8217;s active in northeast Nigeria right now, called Islamic State – West Africa Province, or ISWAP, and they&#8217;re currently in the process of murdering and enslaving Christian men, women, and children on their way to establishing a new caliphate. They&#8217;re one of the most powerful ISIS groups anywhere in the world. That&#8217;s the part of the story the AP would rather skip over, as they attempt to &#8220;both sides&#8221; this ongoing slaughter.
But you can&#8217;t skip over that part of the story because it&#8217;s clearly relevant to how the United States should respond. Think about the rise of ISIS in Iraq a decade ago. Obama declared that they weren&#8217;t a big threat. He called ISIS the &#8220;JV team.&#8221; Then, just six months later, ISIS took over huge swaths of Syria and Iraq and said they were going to start a new caliphate. And it wasn&#8217;t until Donald Trump took office and dramatically intensified the Pentagon&#8217;s attacks on ISIS in 2017 that they were finally defeated in both Iraq and Syria.
This is an example of a targeted American military intervention overseas that had a clear, tangible positive result for Americans — by eliminating an organization that was committed to conducting acts of terrorism on our soil — while also saving the lives of hundreds of thousands of Christians. And make no mistake about it: Keeping Christians alive, wherever they may be, is clearly in the best interests of the United States. To that end, Donald Trump did not wage an endless war in the Middle East. It was a campaign that every reasonable person in the country thought was appropriate and justified.
What Trump is proposing to do now — as he says we&#8217;re going to carry out a &#8220;sweet&#8221; attack in Nigeria, going in &#8220;guns blazing&#8221; — is to follow the exact same strategy he used to great effect in his first administration. We have precedent showing that ISIS (and other Islamic militant groups) can be shut down, and very quickly. So why are Democrats opposing Trump&#8217;s apparent plan to attack Islamic terrorists in Nigeria?
One reason, of course, is that Democrats aren&#8217;t bothered by the persecution of Christians. They welcome it. After all, they persecute Christians within the borders of this country. Why would they care about Christians who are being slaughtered 5,000 miles away?
But there&#8217;s also something to be said for how Nigeria, in the eyes of Democrats, is a big success story for &#8220;democracy.&#8221; And they&#8217;re willing to cling to this mythology at all costs, no matter how many Christians need to die as a result. Every other month, the Biden administration would put out <a href="https://bidenwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2023/05/29/statement-from-president-joe-biden-sending-warm-wishes-on-the-occasion-of-president-tinubus-inauguration-in-nigeria/#:~:text=As%20Africa's%20largest%20democracy%20and,can%20deliver%20for%20their%20needs." target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://bidenwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2023/05/29/statement-from-president-joe-biden-sending-warm-wishes-on-the-occasion-of-president-tinubus-inauguration-in-nigeria/%23:~:text%3DAs%2520Africa's%2520largest%2520democracy%2520and,can%2520deliver%2520for%2520their%2520needs.&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1762364623124000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1ZW0h5TzIG7rcf0Lg_xDad">statements</a> about how Nigeria is &#8220;Africa&#8217;s largest democracy.&#8221; Go to the archived version of the White House website, and you&#8217;ll find about a dozen of them. And Nigeria&#8217;s president at the time, Muhammadu Buhari, returned the favor.
Buhari was one of the first world leaders to <a href="https://x.com/MBuhari/status/1325174546496811009">declare</a> that Joe Biden had won the 2020 election:
<blockquote>Congratulations to US President-Elect Joe Biden on his election at a time of uncertainty and fear in world affairs. His election is a reminder that democracy is the best form of government because it offers the people the opportunity to change their government by peaceful means.</blockquote>
So the messaging is pretty clear, from both sides. &#8220;Democracy,&#8221; as we all remember, was the Democrats&#8217; top buzzword for the past few years. They couldn&#8217;t stop throwing the word around. They said the United States is a democracy. They said Nigeria is a democracy. They said your local dentist&#8217;s office is a democracy. And in every single case, Democrats were using the word &#8220;democracy&#8221; to describe some of the most undemocratic practices imaginable. Of course, in this country, they went on about the importance of &#8220;democracy&#8221; as they attempted to imprison (and murder) the leading presidential candidate, along with everyone who ever worked for him. In Nigeria, they pontificated about democracy even as the state lost its monopoly on the use of force, and as Islamist terrorist groups seized control of large portions of the country.
But Nigeria isn&#8217;t really a democracy. It&#8217;s a failed state where Christians are being hunted en masse. And you have to ask yourself: If the entire corporate media and the Democratic Party are willing to lie to you about what&#8217;s happening in Nigeria, why wouldn&#8217;t they excuse the same type of massacre in this country? It would be one thing if they tried to claim that foreign entanglements are inherently risky, or that we don&#8217;t want to risk the lives of U.S. servicemembers, or that we can solve all of Nigeria&#8217;s problems — all of their &#8220;multidimensional poverty&#8221; — by sending them a little more money.
But they&#8217;re not doing any of that. They&#8217;re telling you that Christians aren&#8217;t actually being gunned down, even though it&#8217;s happening on camera. Whatever Donald Trump chooses to do in Nigeria, Christians in this country — and all over the world — should never forget that. The people who want you dead aren&#8217;t just in Boko Haram, ISWAP, or ISIS. They&#8217;re not 5,000 miles away. They&#8217;re trying to return to power. They&#8217;re running in several major elections today, in fact. If that sounds like an overstatement — ask yourself, how are Christians <a href="https://persecution.org/2024/04/08/six-christians-killed-on-good-friday-in-somalia/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://persecution.org/2024/04/08/six-christians-killed-on-good-friday-in-somalia/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1762364623124000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2FPHN6xZxnbEdkXEZx05_g">treated</a> in Somalia? It&#8217;s one of the most dangerous countries in the world for Christians. They&#8217;re murdered (and beheaded) for their faith all the time. Last Good Friday, Islamist militants shot six Christians in the shop where they worked, before torching the shop. What do you think happens when major cities in this country become indistinguishable from Somalia?
If they win today&#8217;s elections, with the help of millions of imported foreign voters, in Democrats&#8217; eyes, it&#8217;ll be a major victory for &#8220;democracy.&#8221; What they won&#8217;t tell you is that their ideal version of democracy isn&#8217;t anything Ben Franklin or Thomas Jefferson had in mind. It&#8217;s Nigeria and Somalia&#8217;s definition of &#8220;democracy.&#8221; And one election in New York or Minneapolis at a time, we&#8217;re on our way to getting just that.

Islamic terror suspects <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/feds-thwart-potential-halloween-weekend-terrorist-attack-kash-patel-says">arrested</a> by the FBI in Michigan last week sought to target bars and nightclubs near Detroit on Halloween night, according to a criminal complaint filed on Saturday.
The 73-page <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-edmi/media/1416836/dl?inline">complaint</a>, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, accuses Mohmed Ali, Majed Mahmoud, and a juvenile suspect, along with five co-conspirators, of seeking to carry out a terrorist attack for ISIS, hoping to copy the 2015 Paris terrorist attack that killed more than 130 people. The suspects codenamed the attack day &#8220;pumpkin,&#8221; leading investigators to believe that the planned attack would be carried out on Halloween, when bars and nightclubs would be full of partiers.
The suspects, who are all under 21, allegedly &#8220;sought guidance from the father of a local Islamic extremist ideologue&#8221; on when to conduct their attack. Ali lives in Dearborn, Michigan, which is known for its large Muslim population, and the criminal complaint states that Ali and Mahmoud met multiple times at night at parks in Dearborn. Ali and Mahmoud also shared ISIS-related materials through encrypted messaging and social media apps, according to the criminal complaint.
FBI Director Kash Patel <a href="https://x.com/FBIDirectorKash/status/1985379689741881404">said</a> on Friday that the potential terrorist attack in Michigan was &#8220;thwarted&#8221; by federal agents. Patel added on Monday that the FBI &#8220;stopped a massacre before it could happen.&#8221;
&#8220;Two Michigan men planned an ISIS-inspired Halloween terror attack near Detroit- stockpiling weapons, scouting targets, and training at gun ranges,&#8221; Patel said. &#8220;This FBI acted fast, followed the evidence, and likely saved countless lives.&#8221;
The suspects allegedly scoped out sites of potential targets for their attack in September. According to the criminal complaint, the suspects drove past numerous bars and clubs in Ferndale, which is just north of Detroit, and is known as a go-to party spot for gay people.

The FBI also said that the suspects practiced shooting firearms, including AR-15 style rifles, at a gun range in September and October. Federal authorities served search warrants at Ali&#8217;s and Mahmoud&#8217;s homes on October 31, where they recovered &#8220;three AR-15 style rifles, two shotguns, four handguns, more than 1,600 rounds of ammunition compatible with the three AR-15 style rifles, optical sights, two GoPro cameras, a flash suppressor, tactical vests, and other related firearms parts and accessories,&#8221; according to the complaint.
One of the co-conspirators, referred to as &#8220;Co-Conspirator 1&#8221; in the complaint, allegedly met with Ali and the juvenile suspect in June and July before he traveled out of the country. When Co-Conspirator 1 returned to the United States, Customs and Border Protection agents looked through his phone and found photos of the co-conspirator wearing tactical gear and holding weapons, the complaint stated. The CBP agents also allegedly found Google searches for ISIS and the Islamic State.
While Co-Conspirator 1 was overseas, he got on a group call with five other people, one of whom was an FBI Confidential Human Source. During the call, which the FBI source recorded, the participants discussed traveling to Syria to join ISIS, according to the complaint. A second co-conspirator then attempted to convince Ali and the juvenile suspect to join them and travel to Syria, but the two suspects allegedly said that they wanted to stay in the United States and do the &#8220;same thing as France,&#8221; which the FBI believes is a reference to the 2015 Paris terrorist attack.

“The FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend,&#8221; Patel wrote in a post on X. 
Patel did not disclose where exactly the attack was planned to take place or who was allegedly behind it, but he added that more details would be released soon.

Democrat Senate candidate Graham Platner was a member of a radical Left group whose members have been linked to a slew of attacks, including an assault on an ICE facility that was designated a terrorist attack this month as part of a crackdown on Antifa.
Maine&#8217;s Democrat Senate primary was upended after <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2025/10/16/politics/kfile-graham-platner-maine-senate-candidate-deleted-reddit-posts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CNN</a> reported that Platner had called himself a &#8220;communist&#8221; in posts on the Reddit forum r/SocialistRA, where he wrote that if people &#8220;expect to fight fascism without a good semi-automatic rifle, they ought to do some reading of history.&#8221;
The forum name refers to the Socialist Rifle Association, a group whose members have been repeatedly linked to violent political crimes.
On July 4, a group of militants allegedly swarmed law enforcement at an ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas and “opened fire at the unarmed DHS correctional officers.” One of them, Benjamin Hanil Song, is charged with shooting a police officer in the neck. Song was a member of the Socialist Rifle Association’s Dallas-Fort Worth chapter, a fellow group member told <a href="https://www.keranews.org/news/2025-07-22/shooting-at-alvarado-ice-facility-other-attacks-the-new-normal" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KERA</a>.
Last week, the Department of Justice charged two suspects in that attack, Cameron Arnold and Zachary Evetts, with providing <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-admin-hits-antifa-with-very-first-terrorism-charges-in-anti-ice-attack" target="_blank" rel="noopener">material support to terrorists</a>, calling their crew an &#8220;Antifa Cell.&#8221; It was the first use of the terrorism statute against domestic extremists since Trump ordered a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-ups-the-ante-orders-cabinet-to-label-antifa-a-foreign-terror-organization" target="_blank" rel="noopener">crackdown</a> on far-left political violence. Arnold, like the founders of the Socialist Rifle Association, is transgender and goes by the name Autumn Hill.
Membership in the Socialist Rifle Association isn&#8217;t required for users to post on the Reddit forum. But a New England publication, the <a href="https://robinsonreport.substack.com/p/ex-marine-graham-platner-taught-military" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Robinson Report</a>, revealed that Platner explicitly described his membership in the group.
&#8220;Check out the Maine SRA chapter, we&#8217;re quite active,&#8221; he wrote in April 2020. In August 2020, he said &#8220;my local SRA chapter&#8221; does &#8220;lots of range days, firearms education classes, and developing mutual aid networks in our community.&#8221;
Images of the Maine chapter training include a man in a pink tutu shooting a gun, and one who — though the group blurred the faces of its members — has facial hair matching Platner&#8217;s, Robinson reported.
Platner, who would face off against Republican Senator Susan Collins in the general election and has been endorsed by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), said he made the comments after a difficult time period serving in the military.
“When I got back from Afghanistan in 2011, I stayed in the Army for another year. I got out in 2012. Some of the worst comments I made, the things that I’m — I think are least defensible, that I wouldn’t even try to defend, come from that time,” he said.
The Daily Wire has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/socialist-rifle-association-linked-to-numerous-violent-attacks">chronicled</a> Socialist Rifle Association members charged with crimes of political violence.
In October 2021, <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.flnd.353608/gov.uscourts.flnd.353608.2.0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Daniel Alan Baker</a> of Florida was sentenced to 44 months in prison for threats. After the pro-Trump Capitol protest on January 6, 2021, Baker offered “cash rewards for information leading to the verified identification of an and every individual in this video. Don’t worry, I wont ne [sic] going to the cops. We have decided to handle this ourselves.” Baker told prosecutors that he was a <a href="https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/59305500/81/united-states-v-baker/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">member</a> of the Socialist Rifle Association, and said, “I believe that the philosophy of an anarchism leads to socialism. And I believe that the government should provide for everyone’s housing, healthcare, food. I even believe that the government should distribute weapons to people who are loyal citizens.”
On January 20, 2025, the day Donald Trump was sworn in as president, <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.ord.185254/gov.uscourts.ord.185254.1.1.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Adam Matthew Lansky</a> allegedly threw Molotov cocktails at a Tesla dealership in Salem, Oregon. He returned to the same dealership a month later and shot it up using a semi-automatic rifle with a suppressor, according to court documents. “Lansky is a competitive shooter and a former member of the Socialist Rifle Association. He is skilled and well-practiced in the use of firearms and combat scenarios. The [improvised incendiary devices] used by Lansky were all manufactured by him,” prosecutors <a href="https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/69768879/22/united-states-v-lansky/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.
On March 18, 2025, in Las Vegas, Paul Hyon Kim set on fire and shot up five Teslas, leaving a Molotov cocktail inside one, <a href="https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/69803347/1/united-states-v-kim/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">charging documents</a> said. Tesla had, of course, been treated as a political symbol by the left because of Elon Musk’s support for Donald Trump. The court papers said, “Kim has an Instagram page where he follows the Socialist Rifle Association’s page. In a post from October 2018, on the Reno Socialist Rifle Association’s Instagram page, is a picture of a subject that appears to be Paul Kim training with firearms.”
A <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/SocialistRA/comments/cf9i4r/wait_is_the_sra_mostly_tankies/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">survey</a> of Socialist Rifle Association members found that it was 30% anarchist, 30% Marxist-Leninist or Maoist, 30% Democratic Socialist, and 10% other.
The Socialist Rifle Association was incorporated in Kansas in 2019 by Alexander Tackett, who later began identifying as a woman named Alex Norma Tackett. A website for a queer bookstore he owned <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20221207035629/https://sweetreadsict.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>, “Lilith [it/she] &amp; Alex Tackett [she/it] are a trans lesbian couple living in Wichita with their six-year-old son.”
The group&#8217;s co-founder was Faye Ecklar, who explained that “I believe firearms ownership is necessary because as a transgender socialist, half the country wants me dead, and the other half is happy to watch. Plus, the means of production won’t seize themselves.”
Platner has faced a wave of negative publicity since his old Reddit posts resurfaced, much of which centers around the Democrat&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/graham-platner-has-known-about-his-tattoos-nazi-connotations-since-2012">Nazi chest tattoo</a>.

University of Maryland administrators told its Turning Point USA chapter that it may not be able to host a Daily Wire journalist on Wednesday, unless the chapter pays for extensive additional security.
The event, featuring Daily Wire Senior Editor Cabot Phillips, is virtually identical to the classes that occur every day on college campuses — except with an affable, center-right journalist at the head of the room instead of a cantankerous leftist professor.
That The Daily Wire has exposed not one, but two University of Maryland presidents for plagiarism — including the president of its flagship College Park campus, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/university-of-maryland-president-copied-rocket-science-paper-from-aussie-student" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Darryll Pines</a>, whose capitulation to Hamas supporters this publication has also chronicled — suggests that the college’s motives for the security requirement may be less than honorable.
Turning Point isn&#8217;t being charged for security because its members might be unruly. It&#8217;s because the university believes that its own students will commit ideologically motivated violence — and, instead of addressing that, it&#8217;s punishing their prospective victims. The group&#8217;s founder, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated on a college campus six weeks ago, ending a career dedicated to facilitating ideological diversity and open debate at universities.
Maryland has taken the wrong lesson from that assassination.
Conservatives make up the majority of the voting public, as evidenced by the most recent national popular vote. If being exposed to center-right ideas is so unusual for college students that it would trigger violent rage, that&#8217;s the issue. Coming across someone like Phillips on campus shouldn&#8217;t be cause for violence. It should be just another Wednesday.
The move continues a pattern of selective commitment to free speech for Pines, who vociferously defended an anti-Israel group&#8217;s right to mark the first anniversary of Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel, then threatened to<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/university-of-maryland-president-copied-rocket-science-paper-from-aussie-student" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> call the police</a> on a Jewish woman for complaining about it.
Jewish parents asked Pines, who is Black, to engage in a thought experiment: would he be as supportive if the KKK were burning crosses on campus? The analogy went right over his head, and in a twist of unfathomable irony, Pines banned all events that day because of what he suggested were anti-black threats and the prospect of violence by Jews. Then he paid the school&#8217;s Students for Justice in Palestine chapter, which proudly says it supports &#8220;armed struggle,&#8221; a<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/university-will-pay-100000-to-anti-israel-group-that-held-campus-rally-on-october-7" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> $100,000 settlement</a> when they filed suit over the cancellation.
His latest move suggests that it was a payoff to his allies, not a recognition of the need to preserve free speech.
Campus police told TPUSA that because of an &#8220;increase in threats related to Turning Point events,&#8221; police would staff the event, while TPUSA would be required to hire a security firm at its own expense to &#8220;conduct metal/weapons detection and bags checks upon entry.&#8221;
Lawyers from the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) told the university that if increased security is required, &#8220;the law does not allow public institutions to shift this increased burden to the targeted group.&#8221;
“Doing so gives those most willing to engage in political violence the ability to silence or burden their opponents through the agency of the state. Raising costs on TPUSA in the wake of its leader&#8217;s assassination is a stark reminder of how literally deadly such a perverse incentive can be.&#8221;
In other words, UMD would be carrying water for terrorists.
&#8220;With the precedent UMD has set here, any student or community member could announce plans to disrupt a group&#8217;s campus event, and encourage others to do so, in the hope that UMD would respond by financially burdening the group,&#8221; FIRE wrote.
University of Maryland Associate General Counsel Christopher Lord replied with a denial that the fee was based on viewpoint. He said one of the factors the university uses to determine required security is &#8220;the history of similar events and/or of performer/speakers at other locations,&#8221; and invoked &#8220;the tragic assassination of Mr. Kirk.&#8221;
Lord also acknowledged that earlier this month, on October 7, the university bore the cost for hundreds of thousands of dollars for a &#8220;Boycott Israel fest,&#8221; as well as pro-Israel counter-protesters.
He said the university is more likely to cover costs for outdoor events due to a Fourth Circuit Court ruling deeming outdoor spaces &#8220;limited public forums.&#8221; That suggests that if the university has a commitment to free speech, it&#8217;s to the extent that a court forced it to, and that, ironically, it doesn&#8217;t apply in classrooms themselves. If a group like Turning Point wants to avoid fees, it can hold an event outdoors — like the sort at which Kirk was assassinated.
Making the situation all the more outlandish is that the Daily Wire personality at the center of this controversy, Cabot Phillips, is unaccustomed to being the center of controversy. Phillips is not an opinion commentator like Ben Shapiro or Michael Knowles; he is the genial and cheery personality at the center of news broadcasts like Morning Wire.
As Conor Clayton of the Maryland Turning Point chapter told us, Phillips is “not controversial.”
“It&#8217;s very strange that they would make this determination that there would be massive protests or threats,&#8221; Clayton said. Representatives for the University of Maryland and its parent organization didn&#8217;t respond when we asked if they could identify a single inflammatory statement by Phillips.
Given that Clayton told us that his chapter hosted another indoor event at a campus chapel, a vigil for Kirk, without being charged for security, that suggests that the Daily Wire’s involvement may be the critical wrinkle in this already sorry state of affairs.
Pines is currently under investigation for blatant plagiarism, which was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/university-of-maryland-president-copied-rocket-science-paper-from-aussie-student" target="_blank" rel="noopener">exposed</a> by The Daily Wire’s Luke Rosiak. It has been more than a year since Pines admitted <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/university-of-maryland-president-copied-rocket-science-paper-from-aussie-student" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;recurrent language&#8221;</a> in an academic paper after it was unearthed by what he<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/university-of-maryland-president-acknowledges-recurrent-language-submits-to-plagiarism-review" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> called</a> &#8220;a blogger,&#8221; and he has faced no accountability.

WASHINGTON—Congressman Chip Roy on Monday filed articles of impeachment against U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman, who sentenced Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s attempted assassin to only eight years in prison — significantly lower than what federal sentencing guidelines and prosecutors called for.
Nicholas Roske, a 29-year-old trans-identifying man who now goes by Sophie, was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/transgender-man-who-planned-to-assassinate-brett-kavanaugh-gets-off-easy-will-serve-just-8-years">sentenced</a> October 3 for attempting to kill the Supreme Court justice in 2022.
In an exclusive statement to The Daily Wire, Roy said Boardman &#8220;deserves to be impeached for her absurd eight-year-sentence.&#8221;
&#8220;Our nation’s judicial system is structured to administer proper and equal treatment under the law; it is not a system where a member of the Judiciary is to allow their personal feelings or political ideology to influence their decision-making — oftentimes resulting in more criminals on the street,&#8221; the Texas Republican said.
Roske faced up to life in prison under federal sentencing guidelines. Prosecutors asked for 30 years.
Roy noted the assassin &#8220;went to great lengths to methodically plan for the attack by spending months researching the private residence of a sitting Supreme Court Justice and obtaining countless weapons and other instruments to fulfill his plot to kill.&#8221;
Roske meticulously planned the assassination for months but had a change of heart outside the conservative justice’s home and called the police to turn himself in.
Roy, a member of the House Judiciary Committee, said the judge &#8220;unequivocally based this weak sentence on the attempted assassin&#8217;s &#8216;gender identity,&#8217; as the attempted assassin expressed that he views himself as a woman.&#8221;
&#8220;Instead of doing what the Judiciary calls for and sentencing this man to the base 30-year sentence recommended by the Department of Justice, Judge Boardman purposefully allowed this man off easy,&#8221; Roy said.
The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/transgender-man-who-planned-to-assassinate-brett-kavanaugh-gets-off-easy-will-serve-just-8-years">previously</a> reported Boardman, a Joe Biden appointee to Maryland federal court, acknowledged there was “a whopping 22-year difference” between that and the minimum of 30 years called for by federal sentencing guidelines.
In a seven-hour sentencing hearing, Boardman focused heavily on Roske&#8217;s gender identity. “Let’s talk about the fact that Ms. Roske is a transgender woman … Should I take into consideration at all that Ms. Roske is transgender?” she asked prosecutors.
“That should not be taken into account or play a large role in the court’s sentencing,&#8221; prosecutor Coreen Mao replied.
Boardman said that because President Donald Trump had issued an executive order aimed at transgender prisoners, she would hand down a lighter sentence — even though parts of that executive order are not currently in place due to an injunction imposed by a different judge.
“She will be imprisoned at a male facility even though she is a transgender prisoner, pursuant to an executive order from the president. Prior to the executive order, that wasn’t the case. With the injunction in place, Ms. Roske could receive gender-affirming care, but if that injunction goes away, she could be denied it. So when I sentence her, I take into account that she is a transgender woman who will be sent to a male facility,” Boardman said.
Boardman also implied that a lack of acceptance of transgender people, including by Roske&#8217;s family, may have been partly to blame for the crime. Roske&#8217;s sister Olivia told the judge that years prior, Olivia had come out as gay to her family shortly after being discharged from a mental institution. Boardman said that Nicholas &#8220;saw that their parents struggled to reconcile her sexuality with their religious beliefs,&#8221; and that Roske&#8217;s mother &#8220;had not been open to her daughter’s gender identity.&#8221;
In court, Roske&#8217;s mother, Colleen, told the judge that she had reformed her ways.
&#8220;I have attended PFLAG [Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays] meetings and learned more about the LGBTQ+ community. I am committed to going on this journey with Sophie,&#8221; she said tearfully.
Judge Boardman said she was &#8220;heartened&#8221; that the attempted assassination had led to increased acceptance of Roske&#8217;s transgenderism.
“After her daughter’s arrest, Colleen discovered that her daughter was transgender. When she was cleaning out her room, she found hospital discharge paperwork that described her as Sophie. I am heartened that this terrible infraction has helped the Roske family get the help she needs and accept their daughter for who she is,” she said.
Boardman acknowledged that Roske&#8217;s plot to kill Kavanaugh was explicitly so “he would be replaced by someone Biden picks so they wouldn’t repeal gay rights or abortion.” Roske&#8217;s defense attorneys acknowledged that the &#8220;terrorism enhancement&#8221; should apply, but Boardman chose to waive some of the increased penalty that it triggers, saying “Any prison time in punishment for her. The length doesn’t need to be particularly long to punish her, and the length isn’t the only factor — unduly harsh conditions make a difference too.”
In Reddit posts, Roske described himself as a transgender woman who is attracted to women, not men; he appeared entirely male in court.
Following the sentencing, Attorney General Pam Bondi said <a href="https://x.com/AGPamBondi/status/1974254662971756551">on X</a> that the Justice Department would appeal the “woefully insufficient sentence.”
Roy believes the judge violated her oath of office by not administering her sentencing &#8220;impartially&#8221; and by &#8220;not upholding the &#8216;good behavior&#8217; that Judges must abide by.&#8221;
&#8220;Judge Boardman should be impeached swiftly and without reservation,&#8221; Roy added.
Republican Senators Ted Cruz (Texas) and Mike Lee (Utah) have called for Boardman&#8217;s impeachment. Shortly after the sentence, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) introduced a bill that would &#8220;Prevent judges from using perceived gender-identity as a factor when determining the length of a sentence,&#8221; and another that would prohibit housing transgender inmates with members of the opposite biological sex.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced Sunday that the U.S. military took out a drug-smuggling boat he said was connected to a Colombian terrorist group. 
According to Hegseth, the Department of War on Friday conducted a lethal kinetic strike targeting a vessel linked to the Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN), a designated foreign terrorist organization. The ELN, also known as the National Liberation Army, is an insurgent group that clashes with the Colombian government. 
“The vessel was known by our intelligence to be involved in illicit narcotics smuggling, was traveling along a known narco-trafficking route, and was transporting substantial amounts of narcotics,” Hegseth said. “There were three male narco-terrorists aboard the vessel during the strike—which was conducted in international waters. All three terrorists were killed and no U.S. forces were harmed in this strike.”

The ELN is one of the “one of the most powerful insurgent groups in Colombia,” <a href="https://www.dni.gov/nctc/terrorist_groups/eln.html">according</a> to the National Counterterrorism Center, which is staffed with personnel from various federal intelligence agencies. With around 2,500 fighters, the group aims to control portions of Colombia where drugs are produced through armed assaults, assassinations, extortion operations, and hostage-takings.

Federal prosecutors have accused Mahmoud Amin Ya’qub al-Muhtadi, 33, of Louisiana, of taking part in the Hamas-led October 7, 2023, massacre in Israel and of gaining entry to the United States through a fraudulent visa application.
According to a criminal complaint unsealed Thursday, al-Muhtadi wasn’t just a bystander. He’s accused of organizing armed fighters in Gaza, helping coordinate the assault, and crossing into Israel himself just behind the first wave of Hamas terrorists. Communications from that morning show al-Muhtadi instructing others to “bring the rifles,” “get ready,” and asking for bulletproof vests and ammunition. One message was blunt: “If you have a full magazine, bring it to me.”
The FBI complaint, according to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/10/17/us/fbi-hamas-attack-louisiana.html?unlocked_article_code=1.uE8.zTMe.8-olRlhIWLLf&amp;smid=nytcore-ios-share&amp;referringSource=articleShare">The New York Times</a>, reveals his phone connected to an Israeli cell tower on the morning of the attack — a damning indicator he may have crossed into Israeli territory. Nearby, 60 people — including American citizens — were slaughtered at a kibbutz. Though al-Muhtadi hasn’t yet been charged with directly murdering anyone, the evidence places him near the scene of the massacre and in contact with those actively involved.

What makes this more disturbing? He got into the United States.
Al-Muhtadi allegedly applied for a U.S. immigrant visa under the name Mahmoud Almuhtadi, claiming to have no connection to paramilitary groups or terrorism. He entered America through Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in September 2024 and later posted selfies on social media — holding a Glock — from Tulsa, Oklahoma. By May 2025, he was tracked to Lafayette, Louisiana, where he was working at a restaurant when the feds caught up to him.
And al-Muhtadi wasn’t acting alone. According to the complaint, he’s a known member of the National Resistance Brigades, the armed wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) — a Gazan Marxist terror organization with a long, bloody track record of murdering Israelis. The DFLP has operated alongside Hamas in multiple attacks, including on October 7.
Despite being previously designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the U.S. State Department, the DFLP was quietly removed years ago, supposedly due to its declining influence.

A Virginia Democrat is attacking the recipient of Democrat Attorney General candidate Jay Jones&#8217; homicidal texts, accusing the moderate Republican of “betrayal” after she confirmed the authenticity of the unsolicited, threatening messages she received from Jones, The Daily Wire has learned.
House of Delegates Speaker Don Scott, a convicted crack dealer who Democrats installed as head of the statehouse, has embarked on an unusual effort to unseat Carrie Coyner, a Republican who is viewed as one of the chamber&#8217;s most bipartisan members and whose friendliness with Jones led to him confessing his desire to murder political opponents.
&#8220;I&#8217;m Speaker Don Scott. I&#8217;m here to tell you, Carrie Coyner is no moderate. She&#8217;s a MAGA Republican, blocking our agenda for Virginia families. Carrie Coyner has betrayed us too many times,&#8221; he said in an <a href="https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1EWrKHZar5/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ad posted Tuesday</a> by the campaign of Lindsey Dougherty, who is running to unseat Coyner in her Chesterfield, Virginia, district.
Scott went so far as to speak at a church in Coyner&#8217;s district on October 5, telling congregants using the pulpit to minimize Jones&#8217; homicidal ideation and electioneer against Coyner, again accusing her of betrayal and linking it to the text messages. Coyner &#8220;has done nothing but try to betray the agenda that we&#8217;ve tried to move forward,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We can&#8217;t get distracted because they want us to get distracted by the text message here.&#8221;
Coyner told the Virginia Scope that Scott&#8217;s church appearance was &#8220;intimidating,&#8221; adding, &#8220;I didn&#8217;t do anything wrong in this, and I was honest when asked.&#8221; She and Gilbert did not return requests for comment from The Daily Wire.
<a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/news/dem-ag-nominee-jay-jones-fantasized-about-shooting-former-virginia-gop-speaker-he-receives-both-bullets/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">National Review</a> upended Virginia&#8217;s election cycle after reporting that in 2022, Jones had texted Coyner, at the time his colleague in the House of Delegates, about how he would rather kill then-Republican speaker Todd Gilbert than Hitler, and how he fantasized about seeing Gilbert&#8217;s children, whom he described as &#8220;little fascists,&#8221; die in their mother&#8217;s arms.
The story suggested that Coyner was not the source, but that she had sent screenshots of the conversation to others shortly after receiving them, and she confirmed their authenticity to National Review when asked. The story says Jones called Coyner to double down on the sentiments expressed in the text, which the outlet attributes to a third party with knowledge of the call.
When Democrats took control of the House, Gilbert, the Republican House Speaker whom Jones wanted dead, was replaced by Scott, the allegedly reformed crack dealer. This year, Jones went from being an obscure legislator to a candidate for attorney general, running against incumbent Attorney General Jason Miyares, a Republican.

Democrats, including gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger and lieutenant governor candidate Ghazala Hashmi, have refused to rescind their endorsements of Jones or call for him to step down from the race. They have said they condemn the texts, which Jones has apologized for. But efforts to target the perceived source of the revelation raise questions about whether they&#8217;re actually only angry that the public learned about them.
Scott did not reply to The Daily Wire&#8217;s questions asking whether the ad was retaliation for Coyner&#8217;s role in the Jones scandal, whether he thinks she handled it well, when and why he decided to get involved in her race, and how many other candidates he has cut ads for.
On October 6, the <a href="https://www.virginiascope.com/coyner-says-jones-told-her-in-a-2020-phone-call-that-a-few-police-officers-dying-would-stop-them-from-killing-other-people/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Virginia Scope</a> published an interview with Coyner in which she elaborated on a reference Jones made in his texts to having &#8220;told you this before.&#8221; She said that in 2020, Jones wanted to change the law so that police officers could be personally sued by alleged criminals, while Coyner opposed it. She said Jones told her, &#8220;maybe if a few of them died, that they would move on, not shooting people, not killing people.&#8221; Jones denied making the statement, according to the Virginia Scope.
Coyner told the Virginia Scope that she had nothing to do with the release of the texts and did not know about their release until contacted by National Review. Before Jones apologized, he doubled down and claimed he was being &#8220;smeared&#8221; by his opponent, Miyares, even though Miyares had said that he, too, had nothing to do with the texts making their way to the media.
Scott&#8217;s campaign to oust Coyner is especially curious because Coyner has frequently worked with Democrats in the legislature, including Scott&#8217;s close ally and Senate leader Louise Lucas, to make community college classes free for high schoolers. According to the <a href="https://www.vpap.org/general-assembly/legislators-caucus/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Virginia Public Access Project</a>, Coyner broke ranks to vote with Democrats more than any other Republican. No Democrat was as bipartisan as she was, according to the data.
Yet even as Virginia Democrats have tried to win a purple state with messaging opposing &#8220;extremists,&#8221; the fact pattern suggests that some have contempt for all Republicans, however moderate. Jones’ infamous rageful texts were spurred by then-Republican Speaker Gilbert saying kind things about a Democrat who had died. &#8220;If those guys die before me, I will go to their funerals to piss on their graves,&#8221; he said.
In the gubernatorial debate on October 9, Spanberger&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/virginia-dem-hits-opponent-saying-something-dumb-she-was-quoting-kamala?author=Luke+Rosiak&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=0&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Virginia+Dem+Hits+Opponent+For+Saying+Something+Dumb.+She+Was+Quoting+Kamala+Harris.">response</a> when asked about the Jones texts was to blame Republicans. She obfuscated when asked by the moderator whether she still endorsed Jones, given the texts. After the moderator noted that Spanberger was dodging the question, she said Republicans &#8220;held them for years so the public was unaware who had knowledge of these text messages.&#8221;
That apparent victim-blaming comes despite the fact that Coyner appears to have not told the public about the text messages precisely because she was collegial and forgiving. On top of that, the suggestion that Democrat legislators could only know how Jones felt about Republicans by hearing it from Republicans calls for believing that Jones was more open with his opponents than he was with his Democratic colleagues.
Republicans have continued to show compassion even as Democrats refuse to denounce a candidate who called for violence against Republicans. This month, a Democrat statehouse member, Candi Mundon King, had a daughter die. Gilbert, whose kind words for another deceased Democrat triggered Jones&#8217; rage, offered condolences again, saying, &#8220;May God wrap his arms around Delegate Mundon King.&#8221; But on the same weekend that her daughter died, King reposted on social media a call for &#8220;punishing Confederates and <a href="https://x.com/lukerosiak/status/1975212586024177761/photo/2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">erasing them</a>&#8221; and &#8220;punishing trump &amp; his MAGAt accomplices.&#8221;
Senator Mark Warner and Congressman Eugene Vindman, both Virginia Democrats, are set to <a href="https://secure.actblue.com/donate/sdc1017" target="_blank" rel="noopener">appear alongside</a> Jones at a fundraiser in Fredericksburg on Friday.
Virginia Congressman <a href="https://x.com/oconnor_reports/status/1978144917575589985" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Don Beyer</a> (D-VA) said he &#8220;very much hopes [Jones] prevails,&#8221; claiming that Jones&#8217; express fantasies about murdering the family of a political rival are &#8220;no worse than what Donald Trump says almost every day.&#8221;
