Police officers in Ohio were stunned after arresting San Francisco 49ers owner John &#8220;Jed&#8221; York in a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/49ers-owner-busted-in-prostitution-sting-at-trailer-park">prostitution sting</a> at a trailer park.
York, who has an estimated <a href="https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/sports/nfl/2026/08/25/jed-york-49ers-owner-arrested-east-palestine-ohio-net-worth-wife-danielle-belluomini/91453250007/">net worth</a> of around $500 million, was accused of agreeing to pay $140 for sex at the trailer park in East Palestine.
The bodycam footage from the East Palestine Police Department was obtained by TMZ on Wednesday. The footage shows an officer approach York&#8217;s car, asking for his hands and telling him, &#8220;Don&#8217;t move.&#8221; York, wearing a gray New York Yankees t-shirt and shorts, held out his wallet, but the officer immediately unbuckled the NFL team owner and detained him.
&#8220;Can I ask what you&#8217;re doing?&#8221; York asked.
&#8220;What are you doing here?&#8221; the officer replied.
&#8220;Just driving,&#8221; York said.
&#8220;You meeting anybody?&#8221; the Ohio police officer pressed.
&#8220;No.&#8221;
York informed officers that he was driving a rental car. He is originally from Youngstown, Ohio, which is just over 20 miles north of East Palestine.
After York was placed in a cruiser, one of the officers commented on the large amount of cash that they found in his wallet. Police found $160 in cash in York&#8217;s wallet.
&#8220;He&#8217;s a real estate guy. He&#8217;s got all the money,&#8221; the other officer said, adding, &#8220;It&#8217;s crazy the people that do this. Like, they could do whatever they want. Like, they could do other things. They could go other ways, but wow.&#8221;
York was nabbed after an undercover officer posted an ad posing as a woman on a &#8220;known prostitution website,&#8221; according to an incident report, ESPN <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/49723635/49ers-owner-jed-york-contacted-fictitious-prostitution-ad-3-s-arrest">reported</a>. York allegedly contacted the undercover officer twice last Saturday, and reached out a third time on Sunday after his he didn&#8217;t get a response to the first two messages. After the third message from York, the undercover officer offered to meet York in East Palestine, according to the incident report.
York was initially charged with engaging in prostitution and possession of criminal tools before he accepted a plea deal that changed the prostitution charge to a disorderly conduct charge. York was absent from the NFL team owners&#8217; meeting on Wednesday, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell <a href="https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/roger-goodell-confirms-league-reviewing-jed-yorks-plea-deal-for-possible-punishment">said</a> the league was reviewing the incident.
The 49ers owner filed for divorce in May of this year after a nearly 15 year marriage with his wife Danielle. The couple share two children.
York&#8217;s connection to the 49ers goes back generations as his grandfather owned the franchise for 23 years before passing ownership onto York&#8217;s parents, who in turn, passed the torch to York. The wealthy businessman is also a co-owner of Premier League club Leeds United and Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

San Francisco 49ers principal owner John “Jed” York was arrested in Ohio over the weekend after allegedly arranging to pay a woman $140 for sex at a trailer park.
East Palestine police arrested York, 46, on Sunday at the Wheat Hill Mobile Home Community off State Route 170 on a charge of engaging in prostitution, according to <a href="https://abc7.com/post/san-francisco-49ers-owner-jed-york-arrested-ohio-prostitution-court-documents/19727825/">ESPN</a>. Prosecutors later amended the charge to disorderly conduct, and York pleaded no contest Monday to that charge and a separate misdemeanor charge of possessing criminal tools.  
Court records reviewed by <a href="https://www.wkbn.com/news/local-news/east-palestine-news/49ers-owner-arrested-in-east-palestine/">WKBN</a> reportedly say York was sentenced to one day in the Columbiana County Jail on each count, to be served concurrently, and received credit for the day he had already served. He was also ordered to pay $1,150 in fines. 
Under the agreement, authorities returned a cell phone seized during the incident to York, while $160 in cash was forfeited to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force.
WKBN requested a police report on the arrest, which stated only: “On August 23, 2026, the East Palestine Police Department assisted the MVHTTF on the arrest of John York.”
York, who is originally from Youngstown, Ohio, took over day-to-day control of the 49ers in 2008 and became the team’s principal owner in 2024. He previously served as the team&#8217;s CEO before Al Guido was promoted to the role earlier this year. He has been <a href="https://www.49ers.com/team/front-office-roster/jed-york?utm_source=chatgpt.com">married</a> to his wife, Danielle, for more than a decade, and they have two sons.
The NFL is aware of the matter and will review it under the league’s personal conduct policy, <a href="https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/2091938938881462434?s=20">ESPN</a> reported. As of Monday afternoon, the 49ers had not publicly commented on the charges.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan suffered multiple broken bones and nearly lost an eye in a serious car crash earlier this month, according to the team and longtime friend, NFL analyst Chris Simms. 
The 49ers announced Saturday that Shanahan will have a limited role during training camp after breaking his nose, hand, and three ribs while requiring 40 stitches to his face, ESPN’s Adam Schefter <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/49446662/49ers-shanahan-limited-camp-car-accident">reported.</a>

The July 14 crash occurred near Shanahan&#8217;s Northern California home when his vehicle collided with an SUV. Authorities said the other driver was not injured, both drivers cooperated, and neither showed signs of impairment or was cited. 
General manager John Lynch said the team will let doctors determine when Shanahan can fully return. 
“Kyle basically is going to be like in the protocol. We’re going to let the doctors dictate how he comes back, when he comes back,” Lynch <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LniGXZ93_AE">said</a>. “He’s been in the building, so we’ve seen him. It’s kind of like we do with our players: a phased-back approach. Number one for Kyle and the Shanahan family is getting him back right.”
Former NFL quarterback and current NBC Sports football analyst Chris Simms explained during a Monday appearance on “PFT Live” that his close friend Shanahan almost lost his eye in the accident. Simms said Mandy Shanahan, Kyle’s wife, sent him pictures of the injuries just after the crash.
“When you first see it, and it’s fresh, and some of the cuts are still wide open, I mean, it’s jarring,” Simms said.
“He was emotional about it, because he realized how close it was to being just a complete, you know, utter disaster,” he added. “He could have lost his right eye. It could have been a lot worse.”
“You know, he’s very concerned about the woman he got in the accident with and how she is handling that situation. So there’s just a lot there. And I think it was a lot for him to process.”
With no timetable for Shanahan’s return, assistant head coach Chris Foerster will take over as the acting head coach.
Shanahan has coached the 49ers since 2017 after previously serving as offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons. He is the son of legendary head coach Mike Shanahan, who led the Denver Broncos to back-to-back Super Bowl victories.

The coach said they took the comments into consideration, but when he was with the Atlanta Falcons, Cambell was a well-liked player and he thought when the team lost Dre Greenlaw to a torn achilles, he was the linebacker to sign.

“It was tough losing Dre. We knew we were gonna have to need a starting-caliber linebacker; and we had two guys that we thought we had committed that we lost in free agency; and then another guy got cut after that and became available,” Shanahan said.
“I was with De’Vondre his rookie year in Atlanta, so I knew what he was capable of — not that I was really close or anything with the defensive guys, being an offensive coordinator there and everything — but I know we liked him in that building and a lot of guys who had coached him had been good,” he added. “We obviously made a mistake, but it’s not something that you don’t look into. We look into everything and you weigh the risk and reward of stuff.”

During the 49ers game against the Los Angeles Rams, Greenlaw &#8212; who was playing in his first game of the season after tearing his Achilles in last season’s Super Bowl, complained of soreness, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/he-didnt-want-to-play-49ers-linebacker-refuses-to-enter-big-divisional-game">reported</a>.
In the third quarter, the backup linebacker Campell was asked to step in, but refused to go into the game because “he didn’t want to play,” Shanahan told reporters after the game.
The 49ers, the defending NFC champions, went on to lose to the Rams 12-6, a huge blow to the 49ers playoff chances as the team fell to a record of 6-8.
Shanahan told reporters after the game that Campbell didn’t give a reason for refusing to play, adding that it’s the first time a player on his team said he didn’t want to go into a game.
“That’s somebody who doesn’t want to play football. It’s pretty simple,” the coach said. “I think our team and myself I know how we feel about that, so. I don’t think we need to talk about him anymore.”
The team then decided to suspend Campbell for the next three games without pay, the remainder of the regular season.
Campbell is in his ninth season in the NFL, having played for the Falcons, Arizona Cardinals, and Packers before joining the 49ers.

Former Green Bay Packers quarterback and Hall of Famer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/brett-favre">Brett Favre</a> appeared on stage with Trump at his rally in Wisconsin on Wednesday and spoke to Trump supporters about why he was backing the former president, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/packers-legend-brett-favre-rallies-for-trump-time-to-bench-kamala">reported</a>.
“I can tell you one thing, I knew I would come back to Green Bay at various times, but I never thought I would come back in this setting,” Favre said. “There’s never been a more important time in our lives than right now in this election.”
&#8220;Much like the Packer organization, Donald Trump and his organization is a winner. The United States of America won with his leadership,” Favre added.

Back in 2019, Trump congratulated Bosa on social media for being the number two draft pick in the NFL.
&#8220;Congratulations to Nick Bosa on being picked number two in the NFL Draft,&#8221; the former president wrote on Twitter, which is now X. &#8220;You will be a great player for years to come, maybe one of the best. Big Talent! San Francisco will embrace you but most importantly, always stay true to yourself. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!&#8221;
In 2016, media outlets <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/27/politics/trump-nick-bosa-colin-kaepernick/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">targeted</a> Bosa for apparent posts online that were supportive of Trump and a post that called former 49ers QB and far-Left anti-police activist Colin Kaepernick a &#8220;clown.&#8221; The athlete apologized for the posts and <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2019/story/_/id/26470980/nick-bosa-nfl-draft-best-prospect-itching-return-field" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reportedly</a> told ESPN that he deleted them because he &#8220;had to,&#8221; noting that he might end up being drafted by San Francisco.
Bosa is not the only athlete publicly backing Trump. Former Green Bay Packers quarterback and Hall of Famer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/brett-favre" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Brett Favre</a>, for example, is set to speak at a Wisconsin rally for Trump this week.

San Francisco 49ers first-round draft pick Ricky Pearsall was shot on Saturday by a 17-year-old boy who was allegedly attempting to steal his Rolex watch while he was en route to a signing event.
The football team said in a statement that he was released from the hospital on Sunday after being shot in the chest.
&#8220;He and his family, along with the entire San Francisco 49ers organization, would like to thank the San Francisco Police Department, emergency medical services, doctors and staff at San Francisco General Hospital,&#8221; the team said.
Police said that the suspect, who was not named because he was a minor, tried to rob Pearsall at gun point at which point Pearsall tried to fight back and get control of the weapon. During the course of the struggle for the gun, both individuals were shot by the same weapon.
Both individuals were taken to the hospital and the suspect is now in custody.

Bingham also railed against Culpo’s interview with <a href="https://www.vogue.com/article/olivia-culpo-dolce-and-gabbana-wedding-dress">Vogue</a>, where she discussed her decision to gown choice.
“I wanted something that felt as serious as that commitment,” Culpo told the outlet.
Bingham said that while she thinks there’s “nothing wrong” with modest dressing, she felt uncomfortable with Culpo’s motivations. She said, &#8220;[the] way that [Culpo] was talking about this went beyond just wanting something modest for herself and pushing this idea of what she thinks all brides should look like.&#8221;
&#8220;It has been documented that it does not matter what women wear; they will be sexualized if someone wants to sexualize them,” the stylist insisted.
Bingham also said it was “weird” for Culpo to wear a modest dress because she always doesn’t dress that way. She accused the new bride of having a “conservative agenda.”
She also mentioned in the clip that the wedding dress designer, Dolce &amp; Gabbana, has come under fire in the past for supporting traditional families and rejecting what they called “chemical children, a rented uterus, semen selected from a catalog.”
McCaffrey didn’t mince words when reacting to the post. &#8220;What an evil thing to post online. I hope you can find joy and peace in the world, the way my beautiful wife does,” he commented.
Culpo also clapped back. &#8220;Wow what an absolutely evil person you are, I hope no one ever tears you apart in this way because it&#8217;s extremely hurtful. I love this dress and it was everything I ever wanted and more,&#8221; she wrote.
Bingham replied, &#8220;So we just aren&#8217;t going to acknowledge how your words come across to other people or the background of the designers you&#8217;re supporting? Like I said, the dress is beautiful and you look stunning. It&#8217;s everything surrounding it I didn&#8217;t agree with.&#8221;

Adam Schefter wrote Friday on <a href="https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/1758536735288447017?s=20">X</a> that Garoppolo &#8220;is being suspended two games for violating the NFL&#8217;s Performance Enhancing Substances Policy, league sources told ESPN.&#8221;
&#8220;The policy violation is related to him using a prescribed medication without having a valid Therapeutic Use Exemption, per sources,&#8221; Schefter&#8217;s post added.
Garoppolo — who signed a 3-year contract with the Raiders in 2023 — will reportedly not appeal the decision, <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39539618/sources-raiders-jimmy-garoppolo-gets-2-game-ban-violation">ESPN</a> reported.

A short time later, Schefter wrote on <a href="https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/1758537195130888220?s=20">X</a> that the &#8220;Raiders are expected to release Jimmy Garoppolo before the fifth day of the new league year in mid-March, when he would earn an $11.25 million roster bonus, per sources.&#8221;
The suspension from the first two games of the 2024 regular season will apply to Garoppolo regardless of whether he&#8217;s with the Raiders or not, ESPN noted. 
Garoppolo signed on with the Raiders when it was being led by then-head coach Josh McDaniels and GM Dave Ziegler. McDaniels and Ziegler were let go mid-season and linebacker coach Antonio Pierce was made interim head coach.
In January, the Raiders announced that Pierce would be their full-time <a href="https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-working-on-deal-to-hire-antonio-pierce-as-full-time-head-coach">head coach</a> with Tom Telesco taking over as general manager. With new leadership in Vegas there&#8217;s reportedly no commitment to keeping Garoppolo, ESPN noted.

The two remaining quarterbacks on the Raiders roster are <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/4260394/aidan-oconnell">Aidan O&#8217;Connell</a> and veteran <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/12477/brian-hoyer">Brian Hoyer</a>, but the Raiders are expected to draft a quarterback, with some expecting the Las Vegas team to trade up from its 13th spot they currently hold in order to get a high-end QB.
Garoppolo previously played for the New England Patriots as well as the San Francisco 49ers. His best year with San Francisco was the 2019-2020 season when he helped take the team to Super Bowl LIV against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs ended up beating the 49ers in the Super Bowl 31-20. Garoppolo took the team back to the playoffs and led the team to an NFC Championship in 2021. He signed on as a free agent in 2023 with the Raiders, where he finished the 2023 season with a <a href="https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/jimmy-garoppolo-game-stats-2023">passer rating</a> of 77.7 with 1,205 yards, 7 touchdowns and 9 interceptions in 7 games.

The Chiefs&#8217; 25-22 victory in overtime gave CBS its most-watched telecast ever with 123.4 million average viewers across the CBS TV broadcast and platforms like Paramount+, Univision, NFL digital properties, and more, a press release from <a href="https://www.paramountpressexpress.com/cbs-sports/releases/?view=109259-cbs-sports-presentation-of-super-bowl-lviii-is-most-watched-telecast-in-history-with-1234-million-viewers-across-platforms">CBS Sports</a> read.
The viewership for Sunday&#8217;s battle at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas saw a 7% increase over last year&#8217;s Super Bowl coverage which drew 115.1 million viewers, The <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/super-bowl-lviii-tv-ratings-sunday-feb-11-2024-1235822599/">Hollywood Reporter</a> reported.
At one point, more than 200 million viewers watched all or part of the 2024 Super Bowl, across networks, the release noted. That&#8217;s up by 10% over last year&#8217;s Super Bowl, which scored 184 million viewers at one point during Super Bowl LVII, in which the Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35.

CBS also scored the largest audience in history for a single network with 120 million viewers, the CBS Sports release read. 
To put the Super Bowl audience into perspective, Sunday&#8217;s viewership comes close to the between 125 million and 150 million viewers who tuned on CBS, ABC, and NBC in to watch the Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969, but those figures are not official, THR noted.
The Super Bowl ratings follow the best ratings the NFL has seen in both the regular season and the playoffs since 2015, <a href="https://deadline.com/2024/01/chiefs-bills-nfl-divisional-playoff-ratings-1235802215/">Deadline</a> noted.
In January, the NFL, Fox, and CBS celebrated after the two conference championship games scored massive ratings with more than 50 million viewers each, a first in the last ten years, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nfl-scores-massive-ratings-for-championship-games" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
The AFC Championship Game on CBS featuring the Chiefs&#8217; 17-10 victory over the Baltimore Ravens brought in 55.4 million viewers, <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/nfc-afc-championship-tv-ratings-sunday-jan-28-2024-1235809921/">The Hollywood Reporter</a> noted. CBS&#8217;s numbers were the largest ever for an AFC title game. 
The NFC Championship on Fox generated even better numbers, with the 49ers&#8217; come-from-behind 34-31 victory against the Detroit Lions recording 56 million viewers. Fox had its biggest audience for an NFC title game since the New York Giants&#8217; 20-17 win in overtime against San Francisco in 2012.
