As President Trump attempted to negotiate a nuclear deal with Iran, it became clearer and clearer that the deal was not possible. Trump was never going to sign a JCPOA 2.0. deal.
Some people on the Right were complaining that President Trump wasn&#8217;t acting like Barack Obama. But it was never a MAGA position to be Barack Obama. Donald Trump said for ten years that the JCPOA was the worst deal in American history. He was never going back to it.
As new details emerge as the levels of coordination and talking between the United States and Israel over this current wave of attacks, it is clear that President Trump was actually playing 4D chess with all of this.
He put Iran in a box to keep them there and allow for the possibility of Israel to destroy their nuclear facilities and large swaths of their military capability, with no risk to American troops.
The president was asked by the Wall Street Journal about whether he was given a heads-up by the Israeli government. He replied, “Heads-up? It wasn&#8217;t a heads-up. It was, ‘We know what&#8217;s going on.’”
President Trump is being very clear about this. It appears the United States was not just read in on the operation. Think of the extent to which this was a 4D chess plan, in which the appearance of negotiations with Steve Witkoff was actively put forward by the United States in order to sucker the Iranians into going to sleep after it was clear that the Iranians were not making a deal.
It&#8217;s quite plausible that the United States was involved in a disinformation operation targeted directly at the Iranian government.

In any case, tactical surprise was not only achieved, it was achieved in historic fashion. And that looks a lot like 4D chess with plausible deniability from the United States. That&#8217;s what it looks like from the outside and from all of the information that&#8217;s being released, including from President Trump.
On Friday morning, President Trump put out a series of statements. He <a href="https://x.com/jonkarl/status/1933483871422632218">told</a> Jon Karl of ABC:

Certain Iranian hardliners spoke bravely, but they didn’t know what was about to happen. They are all DEAD now, and it will only get worse!</blockquote>
Remember peace through strength? This is what it looks like. This is what Trump&#8217;s foreign policy looks like. It&#8217;s what it&#8217;s always looked like. Anyone who is surprised by this has been ignoring what President Trump has been saying and doing for his entire time as president of the United States.

What Iran should do, if they had any brains at all, would be to come to President Trump on bended knee and beg him, beg him to let them give up their nuclear program in exchange for the ayatollahs remaining alive and the regime not being threatened and the elimination of sanctions. The Iranian regime does not have any forward operating capacity. They just don&#8217;t.
President Trump has made it clear over and over and over that Iran could have stopped this at any time. All they had to do was say, “Fine, no nuclear program,” and that would have been the end of it. Instead, they decided they were going to keep pushing and keep pushing and keep pushing.
And President Trump played this absolutely perfectly. Israel acted alone. Israel acted with its own capacity. Israel is doing this by itself. And the United States is saying, “Listen, Israel is our ally. Our interests and the Israeli interests align on Iran not having a nuclear weapon. But this is Israel&#8217;s fight predominantly and foremost. And Israel is an independent country making its own decisions.”
And this is what really matters here. Israel is saying to the entire region that if you screw with Israel, these will be the consequences.
And Donald Trump, the most supportive American president Israel has ever known, had their back.

The Israel Defense Forces recovered the bodies of two Israeli-Americans murdered by terrorists in an overnight mission in Gaza on Thursday.
Judith Weinstein-Haggai and Gadi Haggai were killed in Kibbutz Nir Oz while taking a morning walk on October 7, 2023, when terrorists began their massacre of Israeli civilians. The Palestinian Mujahideen terrorist organization took the elderly couple&#8217;s bodies and held them hostage for over 600 days.
According to the IDF, the Haggais&#8217; bodies were located and recovered from the area of Khan Yunis and underwent an identification procedure by the National Institute of Forensic Medicine, the Israeli Police, and the IDF Manpower Directorate&#8217;s Hostage Task Force.
“Together with all citizens of Israel, my wife and I convey our heartfelt condolences to the dear families,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement. “We will not rest, nor will we be silent, until we return home all of our hostages — the living and the deceased.&#8221;

The return of the Haggais’ bodies brings the total number of hostages remaining in Gaza to 56. The bodies of two Americans remain hostage in Gaza: 19-year-old Itay Chen and 22-year-old Omer Neutra.
“We welcome the closure that we have been granted and the return for burial of our loved ones, who went out for a walk on that Black Sabbath morning and never came back,&#8221; the Weinstein-Haggai family said in a statement. “However, our hearts will not be whole until all 12 hostages from Nir Oz and all 56 hostages in total are brought back.”
On the morning of the attack, the couple recorded a 40-second video of themselves taking shelter in a field as an alert system played a recorded warning, and shared it in a group chat.

Judith later called the emergency medical services, telling the dispatcher that her husband was “hit in the face” and killed.
“His face, parts of his brains are out of his — everything is covered with blood,” Judith said, adding that her husband was shot by terrorists and that she was sheltering under a tree in an unsafe place. Judith said she was also injured in the face and hand.

A statement from the kibbutz described Judith and Gadi as the “power couple of Kibbutz Nir Oz” who fell in love when Judith heard Gadi playing the flute.
&#8220;They complete each other: he’s a goofball, just like a little kid, always dancing and laughing, while Judy is an English teacher, taking care of children, and sharing meditation and mindfulness techniques,&#8221; Kibbutz Nir Oz said.
The Hostages and Missing Families Forum Headquarters welcomed the return of the bodies of Judith and Gadi, saying that it “reminds us all that it is the state&#8217;s duty to bring everyone home, so that we, the families, together with all the people of Israel, can begin the process of healing and recovery.”

IDF Recovers Bodies Of Two American Hostages In Gaza

A new and alarming report from the International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nations&#8217; nuclear watchdog, reveals that Iran has increased its storage of enriched uranium to almost weapons-grade levels.
“As of May 17, Iran has amassed 408.6 kilograms (900.8 pounds) of uranium enriched up to 60%,” the Associated Press <a href="https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/iran-increases-stock-of-near-weapons-grade-uranium-un-nuclear-agency-says" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> after seeing the confidential report. “That’s an increase of 133.8 kilograms (294.9 pounds) — or almost 50% — since the IAEA’s last report in February. The 60% enriched material is a short, technical step away from weapons-grade levels of 90%. A report in February put this stockpile level at 274.8 kilograms (605.8 pounds).”
The report warned that Iran is now “the only non-nuclear-weapon state to produce such material,” a “serious concern.”
In late January, IAEA Director-General Rafael Mariano Grossi <a href="https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukraine-iran-politics-government-mahmoud-ahmadinejad-6acdb64d36fcbe05b3ee725d8a585d96" target="_blank" rel="noopener">warned</a> of Iran, “One thing is true: They have amassed enough nuclear material for several nuclear weapons, not one at this point.”
The IAEA, which hesitates to openly condemn Iran, also stated Iran’s cooperation with the IAEA had “been less than satisfactory” regarding uranium traces found by inspectors at several locations in Iran: Turquzabad, Varamin, and Marivan. Iran has never acknowledged those sites as nuclear sites.

The IAEA concluded that evidence found at those sites “led the agency to conclude that these three locations, and other possible related locations, were part of an undeclared structured nuclear program carried out by Iran until the early 2000s and that some activities used undeclared nuclear material.”
Iran has been lying about its nuclear program for years. In 2018, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/after-alarming-iaea-report-netanyahu-urges-world-to-act-now-to-stop-iran/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">revealed</a> that Iran had a clandestine nuclear warehouse at Turquzabad. Iran denied the charge, but the next year, IAEA inspectors detected the presence of uranium there.
Saturday, in a rare statement on the Jewish Sabbath, Netanyahu responded to the new report, saying, “Iran is totally determined to complete its nuclear program.” He added that the new report “strongly reinforces what Israel has been saying for years — the purpose of Iran’s nuclear program is not peaceful. &#8230; The international community must act now to stop Iran.”
“The level of uranium enrichment Iran has reached exists only in countries actively pursuing nuclear weapons and has no civilian justification whatsoever,” he pointed out.
“Analysts point to what happened with North Korea, which had reached a 1994 deal with the U.S. to abandon its nuclear weapons program,” AP <a href="https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukraine-iran-politics-government-mahmoud-ahmadinejad-6acdb64d36fcbe05b3ee725d8a585d96" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> in January. “The deal fell apart in 2002. By 2005 and wary of U.S. intentions after its invasion of Iraq, Pyongyang announced it had built nuclear weapons. The Israeli military has likely killed the leader of Hamas in Gaza, Mohammed Sinwar, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at a press conference on Wednesday.
Sinwar took over leadership of the terror group in Gaza after Israel killed his brother, Yahya Sinwar, in October. Mohammed is <a href="https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/408532" target="_blank" rel="noopener">believed</a> to have been killed in one of hundreds of airstrikes that Israel’s air force carried out in Gaza over the weekend, according to the Israel National News. 
⁠”We eliminated tens of thousands of terrorists,” said Netanyahu, according to <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/International/israels-netanyahu-hamas-leader-mohammed-sinwar-killed/story?id=122044336" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ABC News</a>. “We eliminated the leaders of the murderers Deif, Haniyeh, Yahya Sinwar and it appears we also eliminated Mohammed Sinwar,” he said, referencing other top targets in the terror group.
“Our forces are seizing more and more territory in Gaza. At the end of the move, all areas of the Strip will be under Israeli security control,” he continued. “I am ready to end the war on clear terms that will ensure Israel&#8217;s security – all the hostages returned home, Hamas lays down its weapons, its leadership is overthrown, Gaza is completely demilitarized and the Trump plan is implemented.”
“Anyone who calls on us to stop the war before these goals are achieved is calling on us to leave Hamas in power,” he said.
Israel has launched a new military operation, “Operation Gideon’s Chariots.” The Israeli military said it struck over 670 Hamas targets in Gaza over the weekend, eliminating weapon storages and underground Hamas infrastructure, as well as killing dozens of terrorists.
Defense Minister Israel Katz <a href="https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/408532" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> lawmakers in the Knesset on Sunday that, at the time, evidence suggested that Sinwar was killed alongside ten aides and Mohammed Shabana, the commander of Hamas&#8217;s Rafah Brigade. 
Israeli officials said the latest military operation has seemingly forced Hamas back to the negotiating table, though talks so far have been short of a “breakthrough.”
&#8220;There are intense talks in Doha, but there is no breakthrough. We are much more optimistic than we were last week, but it is unclear if there will be a deal,” an Israeli official told <a href="https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/408546" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the Israel National News</a> on Sunday.

Netanyahu Says Israel Has Likely Killed Hamas Leader Mohammed Sinwar

On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel would be taking complete military control of the Gaza Strip.
Pointing out that the only current alternative to Israeli military control is Hamas control of the strip, and that Hamas retains dozens of Israeli hostages, Netanyahu explained, &#8220;We are going to take control of all the areas of the Gaza Strip. That is what we are going to do.&#8221;
As part of the operation to defeat Hamas, Netanyahu also explained his government&#8217;s decision to provide what he called &#8220;minimal, basic&#8221; aid to civilians in Gaza during the operation: &#8220;We must not reach a state of starvation, both from a practical and a political perspective. The world will not support us; we will not be able to complete the mission of victory.&#8221;
The method to be implemented, Netanyahu stated, was formulated alongside the United States: &#8220;The method is the establishment of distribution points that are secured by the IDF, preventing Hamas&#8217; access, and allowing American companies to distribute the food and medicine aid to the population.&#8221;
Acknowledging that many members of his government disagreed with his decision surrounding humanitarian aid, Netanyahu continued, &#8220;You need leadership to do the right thing that allows us to achieve victory. Because it is not popular. Because people do not understand all the considerations. But my responsibility is to lead this war in a way that we achieve victory and even if it sometimes requires making decisions that the public does not understand, and that ministers deny — by the way, privately many agree but they are under pressure, I understand that.&#8221;
Asked about the freeing of the hostages, Netanyahu said that the defeat of Hamas was a necessary precondition to the freeing of the hostages.

<h3>Bill Clinton, George Mitchell, and a Tale of Two Peace Processes</h3>
Prime Minister Netanyahu assumed office on June 18, 1996, and immediately set out to do the job the Israeli public elected him to do. When forced to choose, Rabin and Peres always made sure the cart was in front of the horse. First, one had to implement the two-state solution, and then Israel would (hopefully) get security. Under Netanyahu, the cart and the horse were put back into their rightful places. First, Israel had to get security, and then he would implement the two-state solution. In Netanyahu’s words, “One of the key goals in my first term as prime minister was to change the Palestinian perception that ‘terrorism pays’ to ‘terrorism doesn’t pay.’ I did this by insisting on security and reciprocity.”<a href="#_ftn1" name="_ftnref1">[1]</a>
He was tested almost immediately. On September 24, 1996, Netanyahu gave authorization to unseal the door to a tunnel that ran along the outer rim of Jerusalem’s Temple Mount. The door was nowhere near any mosque and opened into the Christian Quarter of the Old City. But Arafat, a human mushroom cloud, ordered his men to go on the attack using the very guns the Israelis had given them as part of the Oslo Accords, ostensibly to fight terrorism.<a href="#_ftn2" name="_ftnref2">[2]</a> By the time the mini-war ended, seventeen Israelis and about a hundred Palestinians were dead.<a href="#_ftn3" name="_ftnref3">[3]</a>
Thousands of wars have been fought since mankind became cognizant of territory and the desire to control it — none were started over a door. Admittedly, this wasn’t just any door, just as the Wailing Wall isn’t just any wall. But for its American and Israeli champions, the peace process was supposed to be the forum for settling disputes, not the battlefield.
Clinton Administration officials blamed Netanyahu.

They called for a summit where they demanded that Netanyahu make concessions. When he resisted, Clinton went into a dark rage so loud it could be heard in the next room. In the words of Dennis Ross, “Arafat now knew that Bibi was the desperate one.”<a href="#_ftn4" name="_ftnref4">[4]</a> Violence was thus not only tolerated — it was rewarded.
When a semblance of security was eventually restored, Netanyahu advanced the peace process. He agreed to not one but two interim withdrawals — the Hebron Accords and the Wye River Memorandum — but he steadfastly insisted that progress be conditioned on Arafat fighting terrorism. American officials were outraged. After Netanyahu demanded that Arafat arrest thirteen suspected terrorists, Clinton “exploded,” according to Ross, who wrote bemusedly that he was “struck by [Netanyahu’s] belief that&#8230;he was the victim of mistreatment.”<a href="#_ftn5" name="_ftnref5">[5]</a> On another occasion, Ross writes that the Clinton Administration saw Bibi’s complaints over a bombing as “an excuse to avoid negotiations” and that Bibi was “killing any prospect of peace.”<a href="#_ftn6" name="_ftnref6">[6]</a>
Meanwhile, the stubborn insistence on that which is most basic in a peace process — namely peace — paid off for ordinary Israelis. During the long, seemingly unending terror campaign that defined the Oslo Peace Process, the lowest loss of life occurred during the premiership of Netanyahu. Only one Israeli died per month on his watch. For Peres, the figures were seven and a half times worse.<a href="#_ftn7" name="_ftnref7">[7]</a>

The Wye agreement — which required a sizeable withdrawal from West Bank territory by the Israelis — proved Netanyahu’s commitment to the peace process, at least while Israeli buses and pizzerias weren’t being blown to bits. Signed on October 23, 1998, it caused his right-wing coalition partners to bring down the government and trigger early elections.<a href="#_ftn8" name="_ftnref8">[8]</a> By now, the Israeli public felt safer and, thus, more willing to take chances for peace. On May 17, 1999, Ehud Barak defeated Netanyahu in a historic landslide. At the time, it was the widest margin ever scored by an Israeli challenger over an incumbent.<a href="#_ftn9" name="_ftnref9">[9]</a>
The Israeli peace camp was jubilant. One left-wing activist said it was as if they had been freed from a foreign occupation.<a href="#_ftn10" name="_ftnref10">[10]</a> The great obstacle to peace was removed — now they could finalize a deal with the Palestinians. The cart was finally back in front of the horse.
What happened next was probably inevitable. Barak formed his pro-peace government in July; Palestinian terrorists murdered three Israelis in August.<a href="#_ftn11" name="_ftnref11">[11]</a> Through it all, Washington pressed the Israelis to continue the peace process and all the interim withdrawals that it entailed.<a href="#_ftn12" name="_ftnref12">[12]</a>
To halt the transfer of territory to the Palestinians and end the talks would “give the terrorists what they wanted.” Israel’s intelligence service issued a classified report in late 1999 predicting that Arafat would go to war because Jerusalem would be blamed for it one way or the other.<a href="#_ftn13" name="_ftnref13">[13]</a>

The Israeli Air Force coordinated with the United States to strike the Houthis in Yemen on Monday night after the terror group fired a ballistic missile at Israel’s largest airport on Sunday.
During the strike, about 20 Israeli Air Force fighter jets dropped 50 munitions on dozens of Houthi targets, according to the Israeli Defense Forces. The attack is Israel&#8217;s sixth airstrike on the Houthis since July 2024, in response to more than 400 attacks by the Iranian-backed group during the war,<a href="https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-852751" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> the Jerusalem Post </a><a href="https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-852751" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. It is the first Israeli strike on the Houthis since President Donald Trump took office.
The United States has been conducting <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-orders-troops-to-middle-east-to-counter-houthi-attacks" target="_blank" rel="noopener">weeks of airstrikes</a> on the Houthis in response to the group’s more than 100 attacks on international cargo ships, tankers, and naval vessels following Hamas’ October 7 assault on Israel. Since March, over 800 Houthi targets have been hit, resulting in the elimination of hundreds of fighters and leaders, and Houthi ballistic missile launches and suicide drone attacks are down 69% and 55% respectively,<a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/us-strikes-kill-hundreds-houthi-fighters-hit-over-800-red-sea-targets-central-command" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> Fox News </a><a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/us-strikes-kill-hundreds-houthi-fighters-hit-over-800-red-sea-targets-central-command" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu oversaw the strike from Israel’s Air Force command center during the attack on the Houthi terrorists on Yemen&#8217;s coastline.

The IDF said the strike was in response to repeated Houthi drone and missile attacks on Israel and its civilians. On Sunday, a Houthi missile landed near Israel’s Ben-Gurion Airport, injuring six people and halting flights. The IDF said the missile was not intercepted due to a technical malfunction, noting that their systems typically maintain a 95% success rate against missiles launched from Yemen.
Following the attack, the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-re-designates-the-houthis-as-a-terrorist-organization" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Houthis</a> pledged to “impose a comprehensive air blockade” on Israel by targeting its airports.
The counterstrike included attacks on terrorist infrastructure in the Hudaydah Port, which is used “for the transfer of Iranian weapons, military equipment, and other equipment intended for terrorist purposes,” according to the IDF.

“Over the past year and a half, the Houthi terrorist regime has been operating under Iranian direction and funding, in order to target the State of Israel and its allies, undermine regional stability, and disrupt global freedom of navigation,” the IDF said. “The IDF is determined to continue operating, at any distance, against all threats posed to the citizens of the State of Israel.”
The United States has also held Iran responsible for Houthi aggression. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/you-will-pay-the-consequence-pete-hegseth-warns-iran-over-lethal-support-to-houthis?author=Kassy+Akiva&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=0&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=%E2%80%98You+Will+Pay+The+Consequence%E2%80%99%3A+Pete+Hegseth+Warns+Iran+Over+Lethal+Support+To+Houthis" target="_blank" rel="noopener">warned</a> last week that Iran would “pay the consequence” for providing “lethal support” to the Houthis.

In March, Trump declared that “Every shot fired by the Houthis will be looked upon, from this point forward, as being a shot fired from the weapons and leadership of IRAN.” He added that Iran would be held responsible and “suffer the consequences, and those consequences will be dire.”
The IDF also struck the &#8220;Bajil&#8221; Concrete Plant, east of the city of al-Hudaydah, which it says functions as a “significant economic resource for the Houthis” and is used for the construction of “underground tunnels and terrorist infrastructure for the terrorist regime.”
The strikes were meant to harm the Houthis’ economic and military buildup capabilities, the IDF said.

Israel’s Security Cabinet on Sunday night approved a plan to invade and occupy the Gaza Strip in an expanded ground operation.
The plan, named “Operation Gideon’s Chariots,” will go into effect if Hamas fails to make an agreement with Israel by the end of President Donald Trump’s visit to the Middle East next week,<a href="https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-852712" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> The Jerusalem Post </a><a href="https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-852712" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a><a href="https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-852712" target="_blank" rel="noopener">.</a>

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed the plan during a Q&amp;A video on his X account, where he said conquered land will be retained, with reserve forces being stationed in seized areas, <a href="https://www.jns.org/gideons-chariots-idf-will-hold-gaza-says-smotrich/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jewish News Syndicate reported</a>. Since the war began, the IDF has withdrawn from territory it previously seized, including large parts of northern Gaza.

Netanyahu said military action would be intensified during the operation, and tens of thousands of IDF reservists are expected to be called up to help with the operation, according to IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir. The mobilization is reportedly one of the largest since the war began in October 2023.
“We decided on intensified action in Gaza,” Netanyahu said. “That was the IDF chief of staff’s recommendation — to move, as he said, toward the defeat of Hamas. He believes this will also help us rescue the hostages. I agree with him.”

According to Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, the IDF will not withdraw from any conquered land—even in the case of making a deal.
“This is a dramatic decision: Once the operation begins, there will be no withdrawal from land we conquer — not for any deal,” Smotrich said at the B’Sheva Jerusalem Conference on Monday, JNS reported. “The only way to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/israel-heats-up-ground-offensive-in-gaza-in-effort-to-pressure-hamas-to-return-hostages?author=Kassy+Akiva&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=30&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Israel+Heats+Up+Ground+Offensive+In+Gaza+In+Effort+To+Pressure+Hamas+To+Return+Hostages" target="_blank" rel="noopener">free the hostages</a> is to defeat Hamas. Any retreat would only invite the next Oct. 7.”

Smotrich said Israelis should embrace the term “occupy” during this operation.
“We are finally going to occupy the Gaza Strip,” <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/smotrich-israel-should-embrace-gaza-occupation-idf-wont-leave-even-for-hostages/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">he said</a>. “We will stop being afraid of the word ‘occupation.&#8217;”
He added that once Gaza is conquered and occupied, then sovereignty can be discussed
The plan includes relocating Gazans to other areas of the strip and distributing aid to civilians in areas that are free of Hamas.

Israeli Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar reportedly told Kan Reshet Bet radio that the goal is “complete control of the Gaza Strip.”
“This move does endanger the hostages — it doesn’t help them — but there is no other choice but to bring about a decisive outcome,” Zohar said. “Hamas may soon realize it has no choice but to return the captives and remove itself from Gaza.”
Israeli Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi called the plan’s approval a “brave first step toward total victory” in <a href="https://x.com/shlomo_karhi/status/1919279234901573998" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a post on X</a>.
“We must destroy Hamas,” Karhi wrote. “We must hold the territory — not raids, but continuous and deep control.”

Amichai Chikli, Israel’s Minister for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism, echoed, “We made a terrible mistake to negotiate with Qatar and to bring Qatar as negotiators. Qatar is an enemy and a core part of the Muslim Brotherhood ideology.”
Netanyahu’s remarks prompted the official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, — the same country that hosted the leaders of Hamas as they celebrated the terrorist organization massacre over 1200 Israeli on October 7, 2023, the same government that condemned Israel the day of the massacre and the same government that has <a href="https://www.unitedagainstnucleariran.com/qatar-iran-and-united-states" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reportedly funded</a> Hamas with <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/israel-hamas/2023/11/05/qatar-hamas-hostage-negotiations-gaza-war/71393787007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">$1.5 billion</a> over the last ten years— to <a href="https://x.com/majedalansari/status/1918784779371135011">call</a> the remarks “inflammatory,” adding that Qatar stands “with oppressed peoples, defending the rights of civilians regardless of background, and upholding international law without selectivity or exception,” and concluding that Qatar wants “the establishment of an independent state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital” for the Palestinians.
The Qatari government’s ties to terrorists go back decades; as far back as February 2003, less than 17 months after the 9/11 attacks in which Al Qaeda terrorists murdered 3,000 Americans, ABC News <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/WNT/story?id=129838&amp;page=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>, in a story titled “Qatari Royal Family Linked to Al Qaeda,” that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the architect of the 9/11 attacks, was aided in his escape from the CIA and FBI by a member of the Qatari royal family:  “American officials say the FBI and CIA just missed capturing the al Qaeda leader believed to have organized the 9/11 attacks — and now believed to be planning a new attack against Americans — because it appears he was protected and tipped off by a member of the royal family in Qatar, Abdullah Bin Khalid al-Thani,” ABC News noted.
“After the Sept. 11 attacks, another senior Qaeda operative, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, who may have been the principal planner of the assault on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, was said by Saudi intelligence officials to have spent two weeks in late 2001 hiding in Qatar, with the help of prominent patrons, after he escaped from Kuwait,” The New York Times <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2003/02/06/world/threats-responses-terror-network-intelligence-break-led-us-tie-envoy-killing.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">admitted</a> in 2003.
“Two of al-Qaeda’s most senior financiers are living with impunity in Qatar despite being on a worldwide terrorism blacklist, the American official in charge of sanctions has disclosed,” The Telegraph <a href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/islamic-state/11233407/Terror-financiers-are-living-freely-in-Qatar-US-discloses.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> in 2014.
Qatar also owns the Al-Jazeera network, which <a href="https://www.fdd.org/analysis/2023/12/19/10-things-to-know-about-hamas-and-qatar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">featured</a> Hamas military chief Mohammed Deif’s call to arms after the October 7 attack and also featured Ismail Haniyeh crowing about Hamas’s “great triumph” after the attacks.

President Donald Trump announced that officials from his administration will have “top-level” direct talks with officials from the Islamic Republic of Iran this Saturday in hopes of reaching a new nuclear deal. If the talks are not successful, Trump said Iran would be “in great danger.”
&#8220;I think if the talks aren&#8217;t successful with Iran, I think Iran is going to be in great danger.” Trump said. “It’s not a complicated formula. Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon, that’s all there is.”
Trump declined to say where the talks would take place.

The talks follow the United States&#8217; strike on the Houthis, an Iranian proxy group in Yemen that has disrupted global trade and fired ballistic missiles at Israel.
“I think everybody agrees that doing a deal will be preferable to doing the obvious and obvious is not something I want to be involved with or frankly that Israel wants to be involved with if they can avoid it,” Trump said. “So we’re going to see if we can avoid it but it&#8217;s getting to be very dangerous territory.”
Trump announced the talks during his Oval Office meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyanu, who fiercely opposed President Barack Obama’s 2015 Iran deal. <a href="https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefings-statements/president-donald-j-trump-ending-united-states-participation-unacceptable-iran-deal/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Trump withdrew</a> from the deal during his first term in 2018, calling it “one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United States has ever entered into.”
Last month, during an interview with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-iran-was-told-to-accept-nuclear-deal-or-face-u-s-military" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Trump said</a> Iran can be handled militarily or through making a deal.
“I would prefer to make a deal, because I’m not looking to hurt Iran,” Trump said. “They’re great people. I know so many Iranians from this country.”
“I would rather negotiate a deal,” he added. “I’m not sure that everybody agrees with me, but we can make a deal that would be just as good as if you won militarily. But the time is happening now. The time is coming up. Something’s going to happen one way or the other.”
Trump said that he wrote the Iranian regime a letter asking to negotiate.
Last week, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/irans-military-commanders-locked-and-loaded-for-preemptive-strike-on-u-s-bombers-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">an Iranian official said</a> the country is “locked and loaded” for a strike on Great Britain’s Chagos Islands in the Central Indian Ocean, after Trump deployed at least three B-2 Spirit stealth bombers last month.
“Top commanders are being urged to launch preemptive strikes on the island and its base if Trump’s threats have become more serious,” an Iranian official informed <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2025/03/31/iran-urged-to-strike-diego-garcia-base-immediately/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Telegraph</a>.
“Discussions about the island have intensified since the Americans deployed bombers there…Some are suggesting that missiles be fired towards the island, not with the intent to hit anything, but to fall into the water to send a clear message to the Americans that we are serious.”
