Lindsay Lohan finally revealed what fans had been waiting to hear: a “Freaky Friday” sequel is coming.

During the 37-year-old actress’s appearance on Andy Cohen’s Sirius XM show, Lohan said she and Jamie Lee Curtis would be reprising their roles as mother and daughter in the popular 2003 coming-of-age movie.

“It is [happening],” Lohan told the host about the sequel. “I don’t want to say too much.”

However, she added that both Curtis and her “are both excited. I’m gonna speak for Jamie.”

The 2003 “Freaky Friday” movie was a reboot of the original 1976 Disney film with Jodie Foster playing the daughter who switched places with her mom, played by Barbara Harris. It was based on Mary Rodgers’s 1972 novel of the same name.

“An overworked mother and her daughter did not get along,” a description of the movie on IMDb read. “When they switch bodies, each is forced to adapt to the other’s life for one freaky Friday.”

The 2003 movie, with a reported $26 million budget, was a huge success after earning $160 million at the worldwide box office, Yahoo Entertainment noted.

Lohan’s 2003 film was just one of many of her appearances in Disney movies. She previously starred in the 1998 twin movie “The Parent Trap,” a remake of the hit 1961 movie with actress Hayley Mills taking on the lead role. She also starred in “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen” in 2004 and “Herbie: Fully Loaded” in 2005.

However, Lohan is probably best known for her iconic role as Cady Heron in the classic 2004 movie Mean Girls.
