<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Both lead actresses seemed open to working on a future sequel, which they expanded on during a </span><a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/10/movies/lindsay-lohan-jamie-lee-curtis-freaky-friday.html"><span style="font-weight: 400;">retrospective</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> published in The New York Times on the film’s 20th anniversary this month.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Curtis told the publication that she kept getting questions about a “Freaky Friday” sequel while promoting a different film, which made her realize it could be worth doing.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“As I went around the world with ‘Halloween Ends,’ people wanted to know if there was going to be another ‘Freaky Friday.’ Something really touched a chord,” the actress said. &#8220;When I came back, I called my friends at Disney and said, ‘It feels like there’s a movie to be made.’” </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lohan also told the Times that she was interested. “Jamie and I are both open to that, so we’re leaving it in the hands that be. We would only make something that people would absolutely adore,” the 36-year-old star said.</span></p>

<p>Former Disney star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lindsay-lohan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lindsay Lohan</a> and YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul are two celebrities among several others that face federal charges for illegally touting crypto asset securities from a digital currency entrepreneur.</p>
<p>The Securities and Exchange Commission announced <a href="https://www.sec.gov/news/press-release/2023-59">charges</a> Wednesday against crypto asset entrepreneur Justin Sun and three of his companies — Tron Foundation Limited, BitTorrent Foundation Ltd., and Rainberry Inc. (formerly BitTorrent) — for the unregistered offer and sale of crypto asset securities Tronix (TRX) and BitTorrent (BTT).</p>
<p>The commission accused Sun and his companies of &#8220;orchestrating a scheme to pay celebrities to tout TRX and BTT without disclosing their compensation,&#8221; which included Lohan, Paul, and DeAndre Cortez Way, otherwise known as American rapper Soulja Boy.</p>
<p>Authorities also named musicians Austin Mahone, Miles Parks McCollum (Lil Yachty), Shaffer Smith (Ne-Yo), Aliaune Thiam (Akon), and adult actress Michele Mason (Kendra Lust) in the complaint.</p>
<p>According to the complaint, unregistered offers and sales violate Section 5 of the Securities Act, which requires all issuers to register non-exempt securities with the Securities and Exchange Commission.</p>
<p>SEC Chair Gary Gensler said in a news release that such charges demonstrate the high risk investors face when crypto asset securities are offered and sold without proper disclosure.</p>
<p>&#8220;Sun and his companies not only targeted U.S. investors in their unregistered offers and sales, generating millions in illegal proceeds at the expense of investors, but they also coordinated wash trading on an unregistered trading platform to create the misleading appearance of active trading in TRX,&#8221; Gensler said. &#8220;Sun further induced investors to purchase TRX and BTT by orchestrating a promotional campaign in which he and his celebrity promoters hid the fact that the celebrities were paid for their tweets.&#8221;</p>
<p>According to the complainant, the celebrities fraudulently manipulated the crypto market for Sun&#8217;s companies by extensive wash trading, which allegedly involved purchasing and selling securities &#8220;to make it appear actively traded without an actual change in beneficial ownership.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;While we&#8217;re neutral about the technologies at issue, we&#8217;re anything but neutral when it comes to investor protection,&#8221; Gurbir S. Grewal, Director of the SEC&#8217;s Division of Enforcement, said.</p>
<p>Grewal called Sun&#8217;s move an &#8220;age-old playbook&#8221; intended to mislead and harm investors, which offers securities without registration and disclosure compliance before manipulating the market for such securities.</p>
<p>&#8220;Sun paid celebrities with millions of social media followers to tout the unregistered offerings, while specifically directing that they not disclose their compensation,&#8221; he said. &#8220;This is the very conduct that the federal securities laws were designed to protect against regardless of the labels Sun and others used.&#8221;</p>
<p>Aside from Soulja Boy and singer Austin Mahone, the celebrities accused of touting Sun&#8217;s crypto scheme have agreed to pay more than $400,000 in interest and penalties to settle the charges. However, the accused has neither admitted nor denied the allegations.</p>
<p>Andrew Brettler, a lawyer for Lohan, told <a href="https://www.reuters.com/legal/sec-sues-justin-sun-others-over-illegal-crypto-sales-2023-03-22/">Reuters</a> the actress was unaware of the disclosure requirements until last March.</p>
<p>&#8220;From the outset, she cooperated with the SEC&#8217;s investigation and ultimately agreed to disgorge the small amount of money she received and paid a fine to resolve this matter,&#8221; her attorney Andrew Brettler said in an emailed statement to the outlet.</p>
<p>Lawyers for Sun and the others named in the complaint either could not be identified, declined to comment, or did not respond immediately to requests for comment.</p>

<p>In an interview with <a href="https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/interview-with-lindsay-lohan-i-had-way-too-much-money-i-was-way-too-young-the-tabloids-were-out-to-get-me-rzl89p32v">The Times</a> published on Wednesday, actress Lindsay Lohan, 32, who has had a rather checkered career since she rocketed to stardom at the age of 12 in &#8220;The Parent Trap,&#8221; had a few words for some women who claim they have been sexually harassed: &#8220;it makes them look weak.&#8221;</p>
<p>Lohan decried what she called the &#8220;attention-seekers,&#8221; asserting, &#8220;If it happens at that moment, you discuss it at that moment. You make it a real thing by making it a police report. I&#8217;m going to really hate myself for saying this, but I think by women speaking against all these things, it makes them look weak when they are very strong women. You have these girls who come out, who don&#8217;t even know who they are, who do it for the attention. That is taking away from the fact that it happened.&#8221;</p>
<p>During the filming of &#8220;The Canyons,&#8221; Lohan was supposed to do a nude scene, but she resisted the idea. That prompted director Paul Schrader to take off his clothes. The Times writes, &#8220;At first, Lohan shrieked, then slipped off her robe. The scene was filmed in a single 14-minute take.&#8221;</p>
<p>Fox News <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2018/08/09/lindsay-lohan-women-speaking-out-about-metoo-experiences-look-weak.html">noted</a>, &#8220;The actress defended Harvey Weinstein when allegations of sexual assault first emerged against the disgraced movie mogul. In since-deleted Instagram Stories, Lohan said she felt &#8216;very bad&#8217; for Weinstein and said she doesn&#8217;t &#8216;think it&#8217;s right what&#8217;s going on.&#8217;&#8221;</p>
<p>In the Times interview, Lohan spoke of the beach house she had opened in Mykonos, Greece, describing it as a business she started to get even with a former lover, stating, &#8220;I was on this beach when I turned 30. I was leaving an ex. I said to him, like, point blank, &#8216;You watch. I will own this beach one day.&#8217; It was a kind of termination. Now, two years later, it&#8217;s Lohan.&#8221;</p>
<p>She added, &#8220;I had a fight with my ex on this very beach. What did I do? Nothing. I just took over the beach. The best revenge is success, right?&#8221;</p>

<p><em>Mean Girls</em> star Lindsay Lohan has come to the defense of embattled Hollywood producer Harry Weinstein, saying she does not &#8220;think it&#8217;s right what&#8217;s going on.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I feel very bad for Harvey Weinstein right now, I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s right what&#8217;s going on,&#8221; Lindsay explained, according to EOnline.com. &#8220;I think Georgina needs to take a stand and be there for her husband.&#8221;</p>
<p>The actress made the now-deleted comments on Instagram.</p>
<p>Lohan added of Weinstein: &#8220;He&#8217;s never harmed me or did anything to me &#8211; we&#8217;ve done several movies together.I think everyone needs to stop &#8211; I think it&#8217;s wrong. So stand up.&#8221;</p>
<p>Shortly after Lohan made the posts, Georgina Chapman announced that she was leaving her husband of 10 years.</p>
<p>&#8220;My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions. I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time,&#8221; Chapman said in a statement.</p>
<p>Since the story broke, numerous actresses have come out alleging sexual misconduct by the film magnate. On Tuesday, actresses Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow accused Weinstein of sexual abuse.</p>
<p>Actresses Ashley Judd, Asia Argento and Rosanna Arquette also came forward after the initial report in <em>The New York Times</em> and <em>The New Yorker</em>. Weinstein&#8217;s company fired him on Sunday, and he has reportedly gone to France to undergo therapy.</p>
<p><em>Buzzfeed</em>&#8217;s Lauren Yap caught the video before it was deleted and shared it on Twitter.</p>

<p>But the former child star who&#8217;s been mired in controversy and scandal for years, tossed out some sage advice on Independence Day.</p>
<p>When President Trump came out in support of little Charlie Gard on Twitter &#8212; the baby sentenced to die by a British court &#8212; the 31-year-old responded by saying, &#8220;THIS IS our president. Stop #bullying him &amp; start trusting him. Thank you personally for supporting #THEUSA.&#8221;</p>

Lindsay Lohan On Trump: ‘Stop Bullying Him, Start Trusting Him’

<p>Lindsay Lohan, whose career imploded amid reported drug and booze binges, is back in the news again.</p>
<p>As you may have already guessed, it&#8217;s not good.</p>
<p>While visiting an oceanside resort in Phuket, Thailand, Lohan posted some photos of herself getting ready to go in the water. But she&#8217;s not wearing a bikini as she usually is in her posts &#8211; she&#8217;s wearing a birkini.</p>
<p>A birkini is a modest swimsuit to say the least. It covers the entire body except the face, the hands and the feet. While the design respects Islamic traditions of modesty, it&#8217;s unlikely a Muslim woman would ever be allowed to wear it &#8211; even if the men in her life allowed her to go to the beach.</p>
<p>So why is LiLo wearing a burkini? Because she&#8217;s also studying Islam. She was pictured recently with the Koran under her arm and <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Dzf_XE3zH8">interviewed</a> about her life change.</p>
<p>&#8220;I do study it,&#8221; she said. &#8220;Nothing is confirmed yet,&#8221; she added, but noted that she does find &#8220;solace&#8221; in reading it, something &#8220;that feeds my soul.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I have reached inside and I found what I want my intentions to be in the world &#8230; focusing on taking control of what I want out of life,&#8221; Lohan said. &#8220;You can&#8217;t just convert to a religion overnight &#8211; it&#8217;s a culture and practice [and] I don&#8217;t want to comment on something I haven&#8217;t finished&#8217;, she said.</p>
<p>Well, she can&#8217;t find a role in a decent movie &#8211; and hasn&#8217;t in years &#8211; but LiLo is still finding a way to stay in the headlines, at least the tabloids.</p></p>
