Lindsay Lohan threw her support behind the power of social media to “control” one’s “own narrative” following her struggles with the paparazzi during her career.
During a wide-ranging interview with Cosmopolitan, the 36-year-old actress admitted she is a “little jealous” that stars now have a way to fight back when pictures appear on gossip sites.
“I don’t even know. There’s too much of it,” Lohan explained. “No, it is nice. Because now I feel like…when I first started out in the business, none of us had a say in how to control our own narrative.”

“There were paparazzi pictures, and then people ran with it,” she added. “So I think it’s really good that in this day and age, people can say who they are and who they want to be. And I admire and appreciate that.”
“I’m a little jealous because I didn’t have that,” Lohan continued. “But I think it moves really fast and I just try to keep up as best I can. And I check everything before I post it. I’ll send it to people. Because you have to.”
The reporter pressed further about the difficulties of dealing with trolls or messing up on such a wide scale.
“You have to take everything people say with a grain of salt and just be you,” Lohan replied. “And slow down, because everyone’s so quick right now. People just don’t stop. You’ve got to chill.”
In a video from the Cosmo interview Lohan shared on Instagram, the actress revealed which one of her movies she would have liked to have had a sequel.
