The decade's most triggering comedy
The 55-year-old actor and comedian made headlines three months ago after being hospitalized for a “medical emergency.” Now, Foxx is starting to post on social media again after months of silence.
“Thankful for my @betmgm family and a great few nights in Vegas. We got BIG things coming soon,” the “Django Unchained” actor posted to Instagram on Thursday along with a photo of himself posing on a race car. The post is labeled as a paid promotion with ARIA Resort & Casino.
People Magazine reported that Foxx is in Las Vegas as he works on a campaign with sports betting company BetMGM. The actor will apparently star in the commercials promoting the brand during football season and after.
Foxx previously posted images on his Instagram in early May, telling fans how much their support meant to him, “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed.”
Earlier in July, fans spotted the actor at a Topgolf driving range in Naperville, Illinois, and later waving to fans while sailing on a boat. “Boat life…Celebrating summer with [brownsugarbbn] Stay blessed!” Foxx shared to Twitter at the time, as The Daily Wire previously reported.
Not much is known about what caused Foxx to be admitted to the hospital. His daughter Corrine announced the news in a now-deleted Instagram post, writing, “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”
The actor’s rep denied claims that Foxx was experiencing medical issues as a side effect of getting a COVID booster shot, calling the allegations “completely inaccurate.”
Foxx’s friend Nick Cannon said that it did not surprise him that Foxx was keeping details about the medical emergency private. “One thing I’ve always respected about how Jamie’s moved throughout his entire career, if you’ve noticed, he’s always been somebody who is extremely professional and extremely private,” Cannon said in June. “… I believe when he’s ready, he’s going to address the awaiting fans in the world [about his health scare] the way that only he can.”
