Ex-Pussycat Dolls singer Kaya Jones claims that she was pressured by an unnamed individual to have an abortion while she was part of the group.
“I was told to get rid of it,” the 38-year-old singer said during an interview Monday on Fox Nation’s “Tucker Carlson Today,” per Page Six. When asked who was telling her to abort, Jones said, “The powers that be.”
The Canadian singer went on to say that she was at the “height” of her career and “really not wanting to lose [her] job” when she agreed to have the procedure.
The Pussycat Dolls were an American girl group and dance ensemble founded in Los Angeles as a burlesque troupe in 1995. They eventually evolved into a pop music and dance group and signed a record deal with Interscope in the early 2000s. Jones was part of the group from 2003 until 2004.
Jones also said during the interview that if other Dolls members got pregnant, they would be “fired.” The singer said she “got rid of” her unborn child “in between rehearsals.”
She described “hemorrhaging” and “losing” her baby while being told how “fat” she was. “It’s to control you,” Jones said.
The performer spoke previously about having multiple abortions and regretting them.
“After the first one, you don’t think you’ve done anything wrong. It’s been normalized. And what is a line until you’ve crossed it? … Once you’ve crossed that line, it’s a very slippery slope to continue to cross those lines,” Jones said in January during an interview on the Chrissy Yeargin podcast, as The Daily Wire originally reported.

“It is very painful. There is a lot of anger. There’s a lot of frustration,” she continued, admitting she had her first abortion in her teens. “There’s a lack of knowledge. There’s a lot of regrets. And nothing can make that go away other than God himself when you lay it at his feet and ask for salvation on these issues.”
Jones also spoke at that time about having an abortion while she was part of the Pussycat Dolls, which she didn’t consider “that big of a deal” because she had already had one in the past.
The singer said she now regrets having abortions and cautioned other women that they may feel the same.
“You will regret it your whole life,” Jones said. “Even if I become a mother tomorrow, and I’m happily married and all is well, I’m still going to regret the three children I did not have.”
