<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/beyonce">Beyoncé</a> fans in the United States are combating astronomical ticket prices by choosing to attend <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">concerts</a> in Europe instead.
Music fans have been using this tactic for a while, arguing that a trip abroad can cost the same or less than seeing a show stateside, especially when they use airline points or other rewards to book flights and hotels. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/europe">European</a> concert tickets are often much cheaper than tickets for the same tour in American cities.
Dallas-based Beyoncé fan Mercedes Arielle posted on Instagram about her decision to book a flight for the Renaissance tour to see a show in Sweden even though the performer was coming to her city. She <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/beyonce-fans-european-shows-ticketmaster-rcna74364">told</a> NBC News that VIP tickets to the Stockholm show cost $366, but her friends in Dallas spent $900 on tickets.
The social media user noted that she even got better seats for the money. “Beyoncé is gonna sweat on me,” Arielle said. “That’s how close I am.”
Kentucky-based fan Kylyn Schnelle had the same experience. She told the publication, “When I looked in London, it was 167 pounds [about $200], and the flight was, like, $660. I was like, this is genuinely the same cost.”
She contacted a friend in London and convinced her to attend the show, too. “If you&#8217;re going to spend $800, why would you not milk it as much as possible?” she said of making the trip.
&#8220;With the flight, it was still cheaper than me buying them in Kentucky,&#8221; Schnelle <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@kylynschnelle/video/7199404846452067630?q=kylynschnelle&amp;t=1678479641252">said</a> in a TikTok video.
Lower ticket prices in Europe aren’t just for the Renaissance tour. The Daily Mail <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11888371/Tickets-Beyonc-concerts-expensive-American-fans-flying-Europe.html">reported</a> that admission to Pink’s show in Chicago costs $618, while similar seats at her Warsaw show cost just $126. To see Bruce Springsteen in New Jersey, his home state, costs $537, while seeing him sing in Denmark costs the equivalent of $96.

Ticketmaster has come under fire recently for several reasons, including its dynamic pricing strategy, which increases prices based on user demand. They’ve also been called out for excessive service fees and other miscellaneous costs, which some frustrated fans noticed can cost more than the ticket prices themselves.
The Cure guitarist Robert Smith <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-cure-fans-furious-that-ticketmaster-fees-cost-more-than-tickets-robert-smith-responds-sickened">said</a> he was “sickened” by the practice, arguing that the band intentionally tried to keep ticket prices low so more fans could attend. 
“I am as sickened as you all are by today’s Ticketmaster ‘fees’ debacle,” the 63-year-old musician shared with fans last week. “To be very clear: the artist has no way to limit them,” he continued. “I have been asking how they are justified. If I get anything coherent by way of an answer I will let you all know.”

Singer Nick Lachey has reportedly been ordered to complete an anger management class and attend Alcoholics Anonymous following an incident that took place in March of 2022.
According to a <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11881447/Nick-Lachey-ordered-attend-anger-management-Alcoholics-Anonymous-meetings.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> published Monday by The Daily Mail, photographer Jody Santos was taking pictures of Lachey — and his wife Vanessa Lachey — as they exited Beverly Hills eatery Mastro&#8217;s Steakhouse, and the 98° singer approached her vehicle.
Santos kept the camera rolling as Lachey allegedly came closer, shouting profanities at her and reaching into the car, apparently attempting to grab her camera and her phone. She responded by rolling up the window.
&#8220;In all my years of photographing celebrities, no one has ever tried to hit me. I am just relieved that I rolled up my window as fast as I did, otherwise he would have knocked me out. No doubt about it,&#8221; Santos said, describing Lachey as behaving &#8220;drunkenly.&#8221;
&#8220;He then started punching the window. I thought he was going to break his hand; that’s how hard he was hitting the glass. I am surprised he didn’t shatter the window,&#8221; she added.
Santos filed a police report at the time, but she claimed that it was not until she suggested that authorities were giving Lachey &#8220;<a href="https://pagesix.com/2023/03/21/nick-lachey-ordered-to-anger-management-aa-after-accosting-pap/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">preferential treatment</a>&#8221; that the wheels of justice began to turn.
&#8220;Finally they called me back and said, &#8216;No, he’s not getting preferential treatment&#8217; and explained that they have a program with the courts where they don’t let misdemeanors just walk; they have to attend anger management classes and AA meetings,&#8221; Santos revealed, adding that Lachey was reportedly given a year to complete the requirements.
&#8220;He has to complete them within a reasonable time which is like a year or so. If he fails to do so, they will move forward to prosecute him with non-compliance and he will get arrested,&#8221; she said.

According to Santos, however, Lachey has never apologized to her for the incident. &#8220;He&#8217;s had plenty of time to apologize, but instead he just figured I would go away. What he did was wrong. Attempting to bust his fist through my car window when all I was doing was taking photographs of him. He should have been thanking me for the free publicity. I mean, really. Talk about an oversized ego,&#8221; she said.

Singer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Jewel</a> spoke candidly about the challenges of her upbringing, including claims of being abused by her father and enduring her mother “embezzling” millions of dollars from her.
The 48-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">singer-songwriter</a> made the revelations during an <a href="https://www.verywellmind.com/the-verywell-mind-podcast-5113058">interview</a> with “The Verywell Mind Podcast.”
“My mom and dad got divorced when I was 8, and we went to live with my dad,” Jewel said. “Nobody told me it&#8217;s because my mom didn&#8217;t want to be a mom. She left us, and so my dad took over raising us. I didn&#8217;t know that at the time.”
The “You Were Meant For Me” composer was born in Utah in 1974. She <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-11882039/Jewel-talks-abusive-father-poverty-stricken-childhood-scheming-mother.html">claims</a> her father physically abused her while she was living with him. 
“My dad was this volatile alcoholic that hit me, very easy to identify ‘bad guy.’ My mom seemed like the opposite. She was calm, she was soft, she never yelled, obviously never hit me,” she continued. “And I didn&#8217;t realize I was being abused in another way at the time.” 
Jewel said her mother was aloof and neglectful. She also recounted being put in grown-up situations from a young age.
“I was bar singing as an 8 year old. I was around predators, I had a very scary life. I had a very terrifying life. And I had a life where adults weren&#8217;t safe people, being in connection to people wasn&#8217;t safe,” Jewel said.
The singer catapulted to fame following the 1995 release of her album “Pieces of You.” Jewel recalls putting her mother in charge of the finances.

“34 years old, realize I&#8217;m $3 million in debt, realize my mom stole it, realize everything I thought my mom was isn&#8217;t what she was, very difficult psychological thing to come to terms with,” Jewel continued.
She also spoke about her non-profit, Inspiring Children Foundation, which she founded as a source for kids like herself who don’t have support at home. “I didn&#8217;t have a safe figure (growing up),” she explained. “But that&#8217;s also why I formed our youth foundation, is because there&#8217;s real hope for kids like that.”
The <a href="https://www.inspiringchildren.org/about-us">non-profit</a> seeks to aid teens experiencing “difficult situations like teenage anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation and various other mental health challenges” to “help our youth find their best selves.”

Def Leppard <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">drummer</a> Rick Allen was allegedly attacked by a teenager outside of the Four Seasons Hotel in Fort Lauderdale Beach, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/florida">Florida</a> on Monday.
Max Hartley, 19, was &#8220;hiding behind a pole&#8221; and charged at the 59-year-old drummer &#8220;at full run,&#8221; per a police report obtained by <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/def-leppard-drummer-rick-allen-attacked-head-injury-204755120.html">Yahoo Entertainment</a>. Allen fell and hit &#8220;his head on the ground causing injury.&#8221; 
The teen, who was visiting Florida on spring break, also allegedly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/assault">assaulted</a> a bystander who came to help Allen. Hartley allegedly struck and battered the woman and dragged her by the hair before turning and fleeing the scene.
Hartley was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of battery, four counts of criminal mischief, and abusing an elderly or disabled adult. The publication noted that Allen previously lost one of his arms due to a car accident in 1984.
One 911 caller reported that the teen appeared “highly intoxicated” during the time of the incident.
“I have an individual who has been running around breaking windows and has beat up a couple of guests at the Four Seasons, as well,” another 911 caller said, per <a href="https://wsvn.com/news/local/broward/911-calls-released-after-def-leppard-drummer-attacked/">7 News Miami</a>.
Allen is planning to press charges. The Def Leppard drummer was in town performing in concert with Mötley Crüe at the Seminole Hard Rock.
Hartley’s lawyer Sam Halpern describes the accused assailant as “an extremely sweet young man,” <a href="https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/broward/article273256140.html">per</a> The Miami Herald. “He’s never been in trouble with the law before,” he said of his client, who he noted was an all-around athlete is high school and continued playing recreational sports in college.
“He was regarded highly with close family and friends for years,” Halpern continued.
Hartley was released on bond and will likely be heading back home to Ohio for now. 
Allen joined Def Leppard in 1978 on his fifteenth birthday after his mom answered an advertisement seeking a replacement drummer for the band. 
In 1984, the British musician was in his Corvette attempting to pass another vehicle at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a stone wall. His arm was severed and reattached by medical professionals, but later had to be amputated due to infection.
The drummer has been playing with one arm ever since the 1984 accident using modified equipment.

The message includes a screenshot of the transaction breakdown, showing a $20 ticket charge along with a service fee, facility charge, and order processing fees that add up to more than that.

The tickets were released as part of Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program, which seeks to discourage scalpers from buying up ticket batches and reselling them at higher prices. 
The Cure <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">guitarist</a> Robert Smith reacted to Ticketmaster with multiple posts on his Twitter account this week. 
“I am as sickened as you all are by today’s Ticketmaster ‘fees’ debacle,” the 63-year-old musician shared with fans. “To be very clear: the artist has no way to limit them,” he posted Wednesday night. “I have been asking how they are justified. If I get anything coherent by way of an answer I will let you all know.”
“We had final say in all our ticket pricing for this upcoming tour, and didn’t want those prices instantly and horribly distorted by resale,” the guitarist had previously tweeted on Tuesday. 
“We didn’t agree to the ‘dynamic pricing’/‘price surging’/‘platinum ticket’ thing … because it is itself a bit of a scam? A separate conversation.” In a follow-up, he referred to dynamic pricing as “a greedy scam – and all artists have the choice not to participate … if no artists participated, it would cease to exist.”
In all his tweets, the band’s founding member insisted they agreed to Ticketmaster&#8217;s suggested ticket sale strategies to combat scalpers and make tickets available at fair prices to fans.
Ticketmaster has come under fire several times in the past few months as fans complained about dynamic pricing and issues with the verified fan ticket sales. One of the most talked-about examples happened when Taylor Swift&#8217;s “Eras” tour tickets <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/taylor-swift-finally-breaks-silence-after-eras-tour-ticket-fiasco">went on sale</a> and crashed the entire system due to “extraordinarily high demand.”

The streaker had phrases like &#8220;save the green belt&#8221; and &#8220;land back&#8221; written on her body.
CTV News <a href="https://beta.ctvnews.ca/local/toronto/2023/3/13/1_6311856.amp.html">reported</a> that the phrases appear to be connected to a regulation ordered by the Ontario government back in November to &#8220;remove 7,400 acres of protected Greenbelt land and open it up for housing.&#8221;
&#8220;Officials said they expect about 50,000 new homes to be built on the former Greenbelt land, with construction to begin by no later than 2025,&#8221; the report added. &#8220;The move is under investigation by both Ontario’s auditor general and integrity commissioner and has been met with fierce criticism by some.&#8221;

Former President Donald Trump’s new debut single with the J6 Prison Choir, “Justice for All,” has surpassed career musicians like Miley Cyrus, Tim McGraw, and Morgan Wallen on the iTunes charts as of Saturday.  
Released in early March, the song is a tribute to the prisoners of the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol. It includes <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/zacheverson/2023/03/02/trump-and-jan-6-prisoners-collaborate-on-new-song-called-justice-for-all/?sh=42dddd941662" target="_blank" rel="noopener">roughly</a> 20 prisoners singing the national anthem and a recitation of the pledge of allegiance by former President Trump. The ending of the song includes the prisoners chanting, “USA!”
“J6 Prison Choir consists of individuals who have been incarcerated as a result of their involvement in the January 6, 2021 protest for election integrity after President Donald J. The J6 Prison Choir reportedly asked former President Trump to take part in the project. A campaign adviser <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/03/04/politics/january-6-prisoners-choir-trump/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> CNN the song “doesn’t have anything to do” with Trump’s presidential campaign.

“We basically broke the music industry is what we did here, because we put America First values back front and center,” Patel <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2023/03/11/exclusive-kash-patel-donald-trump-and-january-6-prison-choir-broke-the-music-industry-with-number-one-itunes-single/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Breitbart News. “And we said we’re going to use free speech platforms like Truth Social and Rumble, and then we’re going to debut a song that speaks to what’s on so many Americans’ minds.”
Some Republicans have alleged mistreatment of the January 6 prisoners. On Thursday, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability launched an investigation into the issue, sending a letter to D.C. Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser requesting January 6 detainee complaints and other documents, <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/03/10/house-gop-probing-alleged-mistreatment-of-jan-6-rioters-in-jail/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to the New York Post. 
The <a href="https://greene.house.gov/uploadedfiles/dc-jail-letter-to-muriel-bowser.pdf?utm_campaign=155-566" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a>, signed by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA), and Committee Chair Rep. James Comer (R-KY), says, “Eyewitness accounts of conditions at the DC Jail Facilities—particularly regarding the treatment of January 6 detainees—paint a picture of despair, hopelessness, and a severe abuse of justice.” 
If elected for a second term, former President Trump has <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2022/09/01/trump-jan-6-rioters-pardon/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> he would “look very, very strongly about pardons.”

Singer Cyndi Lauper reached once again for a Hitler comparison &#8212; her go-to criticism of former President Trump &#8212; to decry Republican state lawmakers&#8217; efforts to address radical transgender ideology.
The 69-year-old songstress, who scored mega-hits in the 1980s with “Time After Time” and “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” told ITK the spate of state laws being passed in red states, including ones aimed at ending chemical and surgical treatments of children who claim to be transgender and laws keeping biological males out of girls&#8217; sports, was reminiscent of Nazi Germany.
“Equality for everybody, or nobody’s really equal,” she said, according to <a href="https://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/3888213-cyndi-lauper-compares-anti-lgbtq-bills-to-nazi-germany-this-is-how-hitler-started/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Hill</a>, adding, “This is how Hitler started &#8230; just weeding everybody out.”

Lauper comparing Republicans to Nazis is not new. In 2016 she <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/lifestyle/lifestyle-news/cyndi-lauper-compares-donald-trump-925446/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> of GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump, “The things that he says are appalling to me and shocking. I was so shocked when he started to talk about the LGBT  community. &#8230; That guy is selling inflammatory things that I have never in my whole entire life heard … except, you know, Hitler.”
During the 2016 campaign, Lauper again <a href="https://soundcloud.com/siriusxmentertainment/tmecyndi3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sounded off</a> about Republicans, saying of Trump’s candidacy, “The Republicans who let him in— which I don’t know what the heck that party is nothing to me anymore; you got all these extremists &#8230; even the ones they think are moderate are extremists. &#8230; I gotta be honest; they’re haters.”
Earlier in 2016, Lauper <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/cyndi-lauper-north-carolina-boycott-bathroom-bill-891437/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">supported</a> the boycott of North Carolina over the state’s Public Facilities Privacy &amp; Security Act, which mandated that schools and state and local government facilities containing single-gender washrooms only allow people of the corresponding sex on their birth certificate to use those bathrooms.
Lauper demanded for the show she played in Raleigh that there be a non-gender-specific bathroom, and the venue decided to make it permanent.
In 2019, Lauper <a href="https://www.rttnews.com/2995975/cyndi-lauper-lambastes-trump-in-upcoming-tv-interview.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a> of President Trump, “Maybe he doesn&#8217;t even realize that he preaches hate. I feel really bad for Americans, because instead of bringing us together, he&#8217;s pulled us apart and that doesn&#8217;t make sense.”
 “My sister was gay, my best friends were gay, so I figured I had to be gay,” Lauper <a href="https://www.qsaltlake.com/news/2008/08/11/cyndi-lauper-i-had-to-come-out-as-straight/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in 2008. “So I did everything they did. I tried kissing girls. But it didn&#8217;t feel right for me and eventually I was forced to come out as a heterosexual.”

So it’s 1987, and me and my buddies, all home from college, pull into a bar somewhere out in the sticks near Aurora, Illinois. It borders an abandoned railroad spur and corn and soybean fields surround the gravel parking lot. A rank of gleaming Harleys resting at a slight tilt sit muffler to fat muffler along the walkway. You’d think this wouldn’t turn out so well — Midwest college boys mingling with the Lords of Anarchy. But all you gotta do when you walk inside is listen to the music.
 The jukebox is playing “You Got That Right” by one of those few bands both outlaws and punk kids could bond over: Lynyrd Skynyrd. Next thing you know, we’re shooting pool and chilling with the bikers (albeit with wary hands on our wallets) as another “best of” cut, “Gimme Three Steps” kicks in.
Some bands can do that. They can take completely foreign social groups and unite them behind a sound just too damned hot to resist. Lynyrd Skynyrd was just such a band. With their distinctive Southern blue-collar sound that took rock and roll, the Delta blues, and gospel and Cuisinarted them into a distinct musical offering that still resonates today, they were one of the most enduring acts of the classic rock era.
This week, the last surviving member of the original lineup that emerged out of Jacksonville in the late ’60s passed away. The guitar work of the late Gary Rossington, dead at age 71, has been heard by generations. In fact, who doesn’t instantly recognize his melancholy slide guitar in the classic “Freebird” that came to define the band? But now he joins the rest in what Pink Floyd would call the great gig in the sky. But Skynyrd certainly left their mark while in this world.
Starting in 1969 when they officially became Lynyrd Skynyrd, the hard-drinking, hard-playing band was the vehicle through which front man, co-founder (along with Rossington and drummer Bob Burns), and undisputed leader Ronnie Van Zant could bring his simple good old boy perspective of the hard world he saw to life. But though it was Van Zant’s words and voice that we most associate with the band, it was the driving guitar work that made Skynyrd such a stand-out in a crowded field. With the dueling electric sounds of Rossington, along with such guitar virtuosos as Allen Collins, Ed King, then Steve Gaines, few bands could top them in raw energy and quality of musicianship.
Rossington’s story is a classic rags-to-riches tale. A lower-middle-class Southern boy, he dropped out of high school to concentrate on music full-time. In interviews over the years one saw a portrait of a content man, despite his tumultuous path, who loved his family and friends, fishing, and music, and not much else. As such, it took someone with a forceful personality like the mercurial and driven Van Zant, three years his senior, to be the father figure Rossington never had (his own dad died when he was an infant). Van Zant also pushed the band to reach its potential, with a no-nonsense approach to practicing until they played with one voice, like a heartbeat.    
Lynyrd Skynyrd — named in part as a back-handed homage to their high school P.E. teacher Leonard Skinner — worked hard and paid their dues while accolades came slowly at first. Indeed, a series of record labels declined to sign the band … even though the demos included the iconic “Freebird.” But eventually their appealing sound and working man lyrics caught the attention of Blood Sweat &amp; Tears musician/producer Al Kooper, who in 1972 signed the band to his Sounds Of The South label, with distribution from MCA records. The subsequent five years saw a series of successful albums, acclaimed hits, and packed concerts that put Lynyrd Skynyrd well on its way to superstardom.
Then tragedy struck. On October 20, 1977, while en route to an LSU gig, their chartered plane crashed in the Mississippi swamps. Along with the two pilots, the dead included Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, his sister Cassie, and assistant road manager Dean Kilpatrick. Most of the other passengers were severely injured and took months to recover, including Rossington with steel rods placed in his right arm and leg.
A soul-searching hiatus followed the crash. After his recovery, Rossington worked on other projects, including the Rossington Collins Band, which released two albums before it was disbanded upon the tragic death of Collins’ wife. (A devastated Allen Collins spiraled into alcohol and drug abuse and was paralyzed in a car accident in 1986. He died in 1990.) Lynyrd Skynyrd finally reunited in 1987 with Ronnie’s kid brother Johnny at the mic. It was a daunting challenge to fill his brother’s shoes, but for decades the younger Van Zant, with a similar voice and look, managed to make the role of front man his own. And so, the band lived on.
Skynyrd was not without controversy. Few bands partied as hard and their drunken fistfights, usually courtesy of the rough-and-tumble Ronnie, made headlines. For Ed King, the California outsider who created the famous opening guitar riff in “Sweet Home Alabama,” the drunken brawling and physical and verbal abuse, usually at the hands of the hot-headed Van Zant got to be too much. He left the band in 1975. Steve Gaines replaced him a year later. King would return for their reunion lineup.
Although they eschewed politics, Skynyrd has been seen by many as a proud voice of an otherwise besieged Old South. Indeed, “Sweet Home Alabama” was a direct rebuttal to Neil Young’s song “Southern Man” in which the Canadian attacked the South for its racism and what he saw as religious hypocrisy. (Well, I heard Mister Young sing about her / I heard ol’ Neil put er down / Well, I hope Neil Young will remember / A Southern man don’t need him around anyhow.) To underscore this identity, for years the band’s stage backdrop featured an oversized Confederate battle flag. As times changed, however, the band realized that what the flag meant to them, a mere symbol of their Southern roots and heritage, was a sign of hate for many Americans. Rossington would insist that they meant no offense, that for them music — much of which in their case was influenced by black artists they respected — was about uniting people, not driving a wedge in between them. And so in 2012 they did away with their trademark rebel emblem and replaced it with an American Flag. He offered: &#8220;We didn&#8217;t want that to go to our fans or show the image like we agreed with any of the race stuff or any of the bad things.&#8221; Such ability to adapt could offer a hint as to the band’s longevity.
For me, however, the reason I still listen to the boys from Jacksonville, some 50 years after so many of their iconic tracks were laid, comes down to the simple fact that Skynyrd was a damned good band, from the songs to the musicians to the message. There was an honesty to them as one can hear in “Don’t Ask Me No Questions And I Won’t Tell You No Lies.” However … If you wanna talk fishing I guess that’ll be okay. And they stayed tied to their hardscrabble roots which appealed to so many who may have found themselves out at a honky-tonk after a hard day’s work looking to shoot pool, throw darts, watch some sports, and sidle up to the bar to decompress over shots and beer while “Simple Man” plays in the background.
Rossington was one of those simple men who’d have been just as comfortable drinking with his audience as playing in front of them. In his case, however, the drinking and drugs were a struggle over his long career, especially in the years following the plane crash during which pain killers fueled his consumption. In 1976, he was involved in an alcohol and drug related solo car crash. Van Zant and Collins wrote “That Smell” about the incident, referring to the odor of alcohol in the wrecked vehicle. Yet, as if to live out the title of their aptly named album “Street Survivor,” Rossington and Skynyrd endured, albeit in several iterations. They were still touring right up until Rossington’s passing last Sunday.
Some might argue that with only Rossington of the old guard left up on stage, today’s incarnation of Skynyrd seemed to be more of a tribute band than the real deal. Still, one got the sense that so long as their co-founder lived, a tenuous connection to the original magic of the 1973-1977 group at their zenith remained. When asked in 2022 why he still played with the band, his answer was simple: “It feels good still. And the crowds keep showing up an likin’ it. And I like to keep the brand goin’, with Ronnie and Allen and Steve an all those guys who aren’t here anymore, to keep their dream alive.” 
But with his passing the end of a music constant has finally come to pass. Married to the same woman since 1982, and a father of two daughters, Gary Rossington struck me as a decent, affable guy. The man experienced the death of loved ones more than most. But thanks to his gift for making a Les Paul sing, he managed to pull himself away from what could have been a life of quiet desperation in Florida to tour the world and bring music to generations. 
And so long as there are ramshackle pubs out on deserted country roads playing host to bikers and college kids alike, all peacefully shooting pool and clicking whiskey bottles under the same roof, Rossington’s contribution to one of the electric guitar era’s most popular and enduring acts, and thus the larger Southern rock genre, endures.

Justin Bieber fans have learned the superstar singer has canceled all the remaining dates for his &#8220;Justice World Tour&#8221; after previously postponing dates due to a partial facial paralysis.
The official Twitter <a href="https://twitter.com/JusticeTourNews/status/1630595478566871040?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">account</a> for the 29-year-old singer&#8217;s world tour tweeted out a message on Tuesday that the rest of the dates on the tour were cancelled and how fans could get a refund for their show dates.
&#8220;Justin Bieber has officially CANCELLED the remaining dates of his &#8216;Justice World Tour,'&#8221; the tweet read. &#8220;Check in with your point of purchase for refunds for your show dates.&#8221;

A second tweet from the tour account shared all the steps fans would need to take in order to &#8220;obtain a refund.&#8221;
&#8220;No action is required to obtain a refund,&#8221; the tweet read.  &#8220;It will be processed to the original method of payment used at time of purchase, once funds are received from the Event Organizer, which is usually completed within 30 days.&#8221;
It included a <a href="https://twitter.com/JusticeTourNews/status/1630643375748571136" target="_blank" rel="noopener">link</a> where fans could learn more. His <a href="https://www.justinbiebermusic.com/tour/?utm_campaign=nav&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=justinbiebermusic.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a> doesn&#8217;t include any dates for the tour as well.
There has been no explanation as to why the tour was off and, at the time of this publication, the &#8220;Baby&#8221; hitmaker had yet to make any statement on his various social media accounts about the cancellation.

In June, Bieber revealed that he had to leave the tour after being diagnosed with the rare disorder that left him paralyzed on one side of his face. But his condition apparently progressed over the following weeks to the point that he could perform again, as <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/justin-bieber-suffering-from-full-paralysis-on-this-side-of-my-face-diagnosed-with-rare-syndrome-cancels-concert-dates" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a> previously reported. The rare disease is connected to having the chicken pox/shingles virus.
The &#8220;Peaches&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/health-a-priority-justin-bieber-cancels-world-tour-again" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hitmaker</a> finally returned to the stage in August, only to announce a month later that the strain of the tour required him to once again cancel tour dates in order to make his &#8220;health a priority.&#8221;
In a message shared on his Instagram Stories, the singer talked about how exhausted he was after getting off the stage following his show in Rock in Rio.
&#8220;Earlier this year, I went public with my battle with Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome, where my face was partially paralyzed,&#8221; Bieber explained in his announcement. &#8220;As the result of this illness, I was not able to complete the North American leg of the Justice Tour.&#8221;
&#8220;After resting and consulting with my doctors, family and team, I went to Europe in an effort to continue with the tour,&#8221; he added, as he shared that the six shows took a real &#8220;toll&#8221; on him.
All shows were postponed through Dec 2022 and were to start up again end of February, <a href="https://www.billboard.com/music/pop/justin-bieber-justice-tour-dates-canceled-remaining-shows-1235277109/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Billboard</a> reported.
The &#8220;Ghost&#8221; hitmaker is married to 25-year-old supermodel Hailey Bieber.

Musician <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">R. Kelly</a> was just sentenced to an additional 20 years in prison Thursday after being convicted in a Chicago federal court last year on charges of child pornography and enticement of a minor.
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">R&amp;B singer</a>, whose full name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, is already serving 30 years for a 2021 conviction of racketeering and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sex-crime">sex trafficking</a> in a New York federal court, per <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/02/23/entertainment/rkelly-chicago-child-porn-sentence/index.html">CNN</a>. 
U.S. District Judge Harry D. Leinenweber said in court Thursday that 19 years of the 20-year prison sentence would be served at the same time as his current sentence while one year will need to be served after this sentence is completed.
Kelly was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/crime">found guilty</a> of three counts of production of child pornography and three counts of enticement of a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity. The musician’s attorneys requested a new trial but that motion was denied this week.
Prosecutors had asked for Kelly to receive a 25-year sentence to be served at the completion of his 30 year sentence.
“Robert Kelly is a serial sexual predator who, over the course of many years, specifically targeted young girls and went to great lengths to conceal his abuse of Jane and other minor victims,” prosecutors wrote in the filing. “To this day, and even following the jury verdict against him, Kelly refuses to accept responsibility for his crimes.”
Kelly’s attorneys argued that the singer was already serving a “de facto life sentence” and asked for this new sentence to be served concurrently.
“In the unlikely event that Kelly was to survive his 30-year sentence, there is no reason to believe he would reoffend as a geriatric in his mid-80s,” his attorneys wrote. “The overwhelming majority of Kelly’s criminal conduct was committed a quarter century ago.”

Some of Kelly’s victims spoke at his previous sentencing, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-r-kelly-sentenced-to-30-years-in-prison-following-sex-trafficking-conviction">reported</a>.
“You made me do things that broke my spirit. I literally wished I would die because of how low you made me feel,” one woman said while addressing the singer. “Do you remember that?”
Kelly was found guilty in September 2021 after a month-long trial that included no fewer than 50 separate witness testimonies. Prosecutors detailed the singer’s “decades of crime” and “callous disregard for the very real effects that his crimes had on his victims.”
“The defendant’s decades of crime appear to have been fueled by narcissism and a belief that his musical talent absolved him of any need to conform his conduct — no matter how predatory, harmful, humiliating or abusive to others — to the strictures of the law,” prosecutors wrote in the filing.
They also called Kelly’s actions “brazen, manipulative, controlling and coercive.”
“He has shown no remorse or respect for the law,” the filing stated. “Put simply, [Kelly’s] crimes were calculated, methodical, and part [of] a long-standing pattern of using his platform as a larger-than-life musical persona and his deep network to gain access to teenagers, many of whom were particularly vulnerable, and then to exploit them for his personal gain and sexual gratification.”
