Billionaire tech executive <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/elon-musk" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Elon Musk</a> shot back at the United Auto Works (UAW) on Tuesday after the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/labor-unions" target="_blank" rel="noopener">union</a> filed labor charges against him and former President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a>.
During the Monday evening discussion <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kamala-attacks-elon-as-lackey-for-team-maga-team-trump-fires-back-during-x-spaces-chat" target="_blank" rel="noopener">on X Spaces</a>, Trump <a href="https://x.com/RealSaavedra/status/1823197760830451955" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called</a> Musk &#8220;the greatest cutter&#8221; and touted him as someone who fires employees going on strike. Musk laughed and responded, &#8220;Yeah,&#8221; as Trump spoke.
Although he declined to mention a specific company, CNBC <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2024/08/13/musk-trump-uaw-labor-union-x-interview.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that Trump had been referring to a time when Musk <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/a-stressful-situation-elon-musk-has-fired-more-than-80-of-twitter-staff" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fired a great deal of the staff</a> at Twitter, the social media platform he purchased in 2022 and rebranded as X.
The UAW, in response to the exchange, <a href="https://uaw.org/uaw-files-federal-labor-charges-against-donald-trump-and-elon-musk-for-attempting-to-intimidate-and-threaten-workers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that it had filed federal labor charges against Musk and Trump for allegedly making illegal attempts to threaten and intimidate workers engaging in protected activity.
CNN <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/13/business/uaw-trump-musk-charges/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a> that the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) would investigate the labor union&#8217;s charges and could help settle the case if wrongdoing is found, and might even sue Trump and Musk on behalf of UAW.

Gary Jones and Dennis Williams are two former UAW presidents who <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/10/second-uaw-president-sentenced-to-prison-in-union-corruption-probe.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received prison time</a> for a corruption scheme; however, they are not Fain&#8217;s direct predecessors in leading the union.
The UAW recently <a href="https://uaw.org/everything-the-working-class-has-ever-won-weve-had-to-fight-for-uaw-releases-new-video-endorsing-kamala-harris-for-president/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">endorsed</a> Trump&#8217;s rival in the 2024 race, Vice President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kamala-harris" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kamala Harris</a>. Earlier this year, Trump said Fain should be fired and insisted that <a href="https://www.wxyz.com/news/trump-says-uaw-president-shawn-fain-should-be-fired-fain-fires-back" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;every single&#8221;</a> auto worker should be voting for him.

Elon Musk Brings The Heat After Union Files Labor Charges Over Trump X Spaces Exchange

President Donald Trump&#8217;s administration submitted its first rescissions package of the year to Congress, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) announced on Tuesday, accompanied by a list of instances of &#8220;waste, fraud, and abuse&#8221; singled out for the chopping block.
In a thread <a href="https://x.com/WHOMB/status/1929991228449312979" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a> on X, OMB said lawmakers in the House and Senate &#8220;must act&#8221; on the request to claw back billions of dollars in &#8220;wasteful foreign aid and federal funding for NPR and PBS&#8221; previously appropriated by Congress, with &#8220;45 days to codify these massive cuts to woke, wasteful, and weaponized spending via a simple majority vote&#8221; using the Impoundment Control Act.
OMB specifically highlighted $67,000 for testing insect powder nutrition on children in Madagascar, $33,000 for “Being LGBTI in the Caribbean,&#8221; $643,000 for &#8220;LGBTQI+&#8221; programs in the Western Balkans, and $567,000 for &#8220;LBGTQI+&#8221; programs in Uganda.

&#8220;Scores of DEI and Global Green New Deal funding&#8221; projects were also mentioned, including: $5 million for the &#8220;Minority Serving Institute Fellowship Cooperative Agreement,&#8221; $595,400 for training women in gender equity, $500,000 for electric buses in Rwanda, $6 million for “net zero cities” in Mexico, $2.1 million for climate resilience in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and East Africa, as well as $5 million for “green transportation and logistics” in Eurasia.
OMB&#8217;s list went on to mention $4 million for “legume systems research&#8221; and $3 million for Iraqi Sesame Street.

In addition, OMB noted millions under the PEPFAR account for so-called LGBTQIA+ programs, condoms, and vasectomies: $833,000 for &#8220;transgender people, sex workers and their clients and sexual networks&#8221; in Nepal, $5.1 million for &#8220;resilience of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans gender, intersex, and queer global movements,&#8221; $3 million for circumcision, vasectomies, and condoms in Zambia, $1 billion in contributions to &#8220;wasteful, corrupt, and anti-American international organizations,&#8221; including $135 million to the World Health Organization, and $1.1 billion for the &#8220;left-wing&#8221; Corporation for Public Broadcasting, &#8220;which uses your taxpayer dollars to fund PBS and NPR.&#8221;
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) confirmed receipt of the rescissions package, which his office said focuses on $9.4 billion in &#8220;wasteful spending&#8221; identified by the Trump administration&#8217;s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative. He also gave a shoutout to Elon Musk, who earlier had <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/elon-cant-stand-it-anymore-goes-nuclear-on-big-beautiful-bill" target="_blank" rel="noopener">assailed</a> the lawmakers who voted to pass the &#8220;One Big, Beautiful Bill&#8221; last month, citing the &#8220;unsustainable&#8221; debt.
&#8220;The House will act quickly on this request,&#8221; Johnson said in a statement. &#8220;Under President Trump, every federal taxpayer dollar is actually being used to serve the American people, not to fund a bloated bureaucracy or purely partisan pet projects. We thank Elon Musk and his DOGE team for identifying a wide range of wasteful, duplicative, and outdated programs, and House Republicans are eager to eliminate them.&#8221;
He added: &#8220;This rescissions package reflects many of DOGE’s findings and is one of the many legislative tools Republicans are using to restore fiscal sanity. Congress will continue working closely with the White House to codify these recommendations, and the House will bring the package to the floor as quickly as possible.&#8221;
Johnson also took a shot at Democrats, who have largely opposed anything Trump supports, including DOGE.
“Democrats continue to wail and complain — NOT at the fraud, waste, and abuse — but at the Trump Administration simply for exposing it,&#8221; the speaker declared. &#8220;In fact, Democrats are the only ones in Washington who do not want to stop the egregious misspending of the people’s tax dollars. Democrats continue to defend corruption, while Republicans are delivering real accountability and real savings the American people demanded in November.&#8221;
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) criticized the spending cuts request.
&#8220;The reckless rescissions package introduced today is only the latest attempt by the Trump administration to attack the free press, decimate lifesaving humanitarian aid and hurt our national security,&#8221; Jeffries said in a statement. &#8220;House Democrats will continue to aggressively push back on the continued chaos, cruelty and corruption of this administration and on the far-right extremism being unleashed on the American people.&#8221;

DEI, Insect Powder, And Trans ‘Resilience’: Trump Unveils ‘Woke’ Spending Cuts Request

On Tuesday, tech billionaire Elon Musk unleashed his ire at the House-passed version of the &#8220;One Big, Beautiful Bill,&#8221; which has the blessing of his former boss, President Donald Trump.
The massive bill, which is now being considered by the Republican-led Senate, contains many provisions in line with Trump’s second-term agenda, but also is estimated to add trillions of dollars to the national debt, already nearing $37 trillion.
&#8220;I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore,&#8221; Musk <a href="https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1929954109689606359?s=46&amp;t=o-U3qwC25WnWaylJ0oeG7Q" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a post on X. &#8220;This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.&#8221; He <a href="https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1929955052527202503" target="_blank" rel="noopener">added</a> in another post, &#8220;It will massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion (!!!) and burden America (sic) citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt.&#8221;
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shrugged off the critique when a reporter <a href="https://x.com/Acyn/status/1929956609486401844" target="_blank" rel="noopener">asked</a> how &#8220;mad&#8221; Trump will be when he finds out what Musk said about the legislation.
&#8220;Look, the president already knows where Elon Musk stood on this bill. It doesn&#8217;t change the president&#8217;s opinion. This is &#8216;One Big, Beautiful Bill&#8217; and he&#8217;s sticking to it,&#8221; Leavitt said.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) argued that Musk was <a href="https://x.com/SpeakerJohnson/status/1929985911682478217" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;simply wrong&#8221;</a> in his assessment of the legislation and emphasized that Congress is &#8220;working hard&#8221; to get the measure to Trump&#8217;s desk by July 4 &#8220;so we can deliver on the mandate the American people gave us.&#8221;
On the Democrat side, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) <a href="https://x.com/RepJeffries/status/1929965141174481053" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>, &#8220;The GOP Tax Scam is a disgusting abomination. Truer words have never been spoken.&#8221;
After the bill narrowly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/house-passes-one-big-beautiful-bill-in-massive-win-for-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">passed</a> through the GOP-controlled House last month, Trump <a href="https://x.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1925548216243703820" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hailed</a> it as &#8220;arguably the most significant piece of Legislation that will ever be signed in the History&#8221; of the United States. However, the president has given his <a href="https://www.dailysignal.com/2025/05/26/make-changes-they-want-trump-gives-senate-go-ahead-take-red-pen-big-beautiful-bill/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blessing</a> to GOP senators, some of whom have also raised <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/speaker-johnson-rebuts-rand-pauls-debt-warning-big-beautiful-bill" target="_blank" rel="noopener">objections</a> to the bill in its current form, to &#8220;make the changes they want.&#8221;
Musk, who just ended his stint as a special government employee helping to oversee the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative, made waves last week after he expressed concerns about the bill inflating the federal deficit that has already blown past $1 trillion in recent years.
&#8220;I was like — disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit, not just decrease it. And it undermines the work that the DOGE team is doing,&#8221; Musk told &#8220;CBS Sunday Morning&#8221; in an <a href="https://x.com/CBSSunday/status/1927535075144421527" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview</a>.
Musk also said that when the bill came along, he thought &#8220;everything&#8221; accomplished by DOGE would get &#8220;wiped out&#8221; in the first year. He also said, &#8220;I think a bill can be big or it can be beautiful, but I don’t know if it can be both. My personal opinion.&#8221;
Russ Vought, the director of Trump&#8217;s Office of Management and Budget (OMB), <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trumps-budget-chief-responds-elon-big-beautiful-bill-critique" target="_blank" rel="noopener">delivered</a> on Sunday a counterargument to Musk&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/elon-disappointed-by-one-big-beautiful-bill" target="_blank" rel="noopener">warning</a> about the deficit.
&#8220;I love Elon,&#8221; Vought told CNN anchor Dana Bash in a &#8220;State of the Union&#8221; interview. &#8220;This bill doesn&#8217;t increase the deficit or hurt the debt. In fact, it lowers it by $1.4 trillion. What some of the watchdogs have done is, they have used CBO&#8217;s artificial baseline, which doesn&#8217;t allow and assume that current tax law will be extended because of sunsets that are in the law.&#8221;
Vought added later, &#8220;When you assume the extension of the president&#8217;s tax relief from 2017, this budget or this bill, and it&#8217;s really a reconciliation bill — it&#8217;s not really a budget bill. It is using a budget process. This is a $1.4 trillion over 10 years deficit reduction. It&#8217;s $1.6 trillion in mandatory savings. Obviously, we have a little bit of spending in there as well for border and defense. But that is the biggest mandatory savings package that we have seen since 1997. It&#8217;s very historic.&#8221;
The White House is poised to send its first rescissions package of the year to Congress as early as Tuesday, aiming to claw back spending for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and National Public Radio (NPR) — programs that Republicans view as being wasteful and partisan. Johnson has listed rescissions as being one of two actions the House will take based on findings from DOGE, in addition to using the appropriations process to “swiftly implement” Trump’s proposed 2026 budget.
Earlier on Tuesday, Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-blasts-rand-paul-opposition-big-beautiful-bill" target="_blank" rel="noopener">singled</a> out Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) for criticism in a dispute over how the “One Big, Beautiful Bill,&#8221; claiming the lawmaker &#8220;has very little understanding of the BBB, especially the tremendous GROWTH that is coming.&#8221; Paul said on CNBC that he opposes legislation as it stands because it aims to raise the debt ceiling by several trillion dollars, but is &#8220;pretty much open to compromise on everything else in the bill.&#8221;

President Donald Trump singled out Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) for criticism on Tuesday in a dispute over the &#8220;One Big, Beautiful Bill.&#8221;
The scolding took place on Truth Social shortly after Paul made an appearance on TV in which the senator said he would not support the legislation in its current form because it aims to raise the debt ceiling by several trillion dollars.
&#8220;Rand Paul has very little understanding of the BBB, especially the tremendous GROWTH that is coming. He loves voting &#8216;NO&#8217; on everything, he thinks it’s good politics, but it’s not. The BBB is a big WINNER!!!&#8221; Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114619628833129608" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in one post.
Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114619648032728687" target="_blank" rel="noopener">declared</a> in another post, &#8220;Rand votes NO on everything, but never has any practical or constructive ideas. His ideas are actually crazy (losers!). The people of Kentucky can’t stand him. This is a BIG GROWTH BILL!&#8221;
On CNBC&#8217;s &#8220;Squawk Box,&#8221; Paul <a href="https://x.com/RandPaul/status/1929908175748088234" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> the &#8220;main thing&#8221; he objects to in the massive bill, which contains many provisions in line with Trump&#8217;s second-term agenda, is how it would raise the debt ceiling by another $4-5 trillion. As it stands, the national debt is approaching $37 trillion.
&#8220;That&#8217;s an indication that we&#8217;ll borrow that much. It&#8217;s an indication that we&#8217;ll put the debt on the back burner,&#8221; said Paul, who added that he did not join &#8220;most of the Republicans&#8221; who voted to &#8220;continue the Biden spending levels&#8221; with the six-month continuing resolution Congress passed in March.
Paul said he believes there are three or four Republicans in the Senate who might oppose the bill as it stands. That amount could be enough to stall the legislation&#8217;s progress, given the GOP has only a 53-45 <a href="https://www.senate.gov/history/partydiv.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">majority</a>.
&#8220;If there are four of us who want it to be more fiscally conservative, I think we can really reduce the spending levels and perhaps separate out the debt ceiling as well,&#8221; Paul said.
The senator also noted that he is &#8220;pretty much open to compromise on everything else in the bill,&#8221; specifically expressing support for how it seeks to retain the 2017 tax cuts.
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) also defended the legislation from Paul&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rand-paul-warns-big-beautiful-bill-explode-debt" target="_blank" rel="noopener">critique</a> on the debt ceiling in a recent &#8220;Fox News Sunday&#8221; interview. He alluded to how the reconciliation process Republicans are using allows Congress to bypass the Senate&#8217;s 60-vote filibuster threshold.
&#8220;We have to do it,&#8221; Johnson <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/speaker-johnson-rebuts-rand-pauls-debt-warning-big-beautiful-bill" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. &#8220;We&#8217;re not going to get any Democrats to assist on that. So, to get it through the Senate and make sure we don&#8217;t crash the U.S. economy and default on our debts for the first time in history, it has to be part of the reconciliation package.&#8221;

Trump Puts Rand Paul On Blast Over ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’

A key group of fiscal conservatives is calling on the GOP-led House to immediately get to work on passing President Donald Trump&#8217;s first second-term rescissions package slated to be sent to Congress this week.
In an &#8220;Official Position&#8221; released Monday, the House Freedom Caucus argued that codifying spending cuts sought by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative should be a top priority for lawmakers, who just returned to Capitol Hill after the Memorial Day recess.
&#8220;When the White House submits its first rescissions package to enact DOGE spending cuts to Congress, the House of Representatives should immediately move this to the floor for swift passage,&#8221; the group <a href="https://x.com/freedomcaucus/status/1929628818060235147" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. &#8220;The House Freedom Caucus strongly supports these critical rescissions, and we will support as many more rescissions packages the White House can send us in the coming weeks and months.&#8221;
Altogether, the rescissions package is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-budget-director-confirms-first-targets-for-clawing-back-spending" target="_blank" rel="noopener">expected</a> to cover roughly $9.4 billion. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which provides funds to NPR and PBS, as well as foreign aid are slated to be the targets of the first request to claw back funds appropriated by Congress. More rescissions packages could follow.

Dealing with a narrow majority and Democrats who largely vote in a block against anything they do, House GOP leaders have been under pressure from many in the Republican rank-and-file to codify the DOGE cuts, particularly after the lower chamber narrowly passed the &#8220;One Big, Beautiful Bill&#8221; that is estimated to add trillions of dollars to the national debt.

Accusations of media hypocrisy have erupted over similar hand gestures by tech billionaire Elon Musk and Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ). Critics argue that the press unfairly targeted Musk while giving Booker a pass.
The debate stems from Musk extending out his right arm after placing his hand over his heart to the crowd during a Inauguration Day rally for President Donald Trump, which some labeled a &#8220;Nazi salute&#8221; and resulted in breathless news coverage, while Booker’s comparable wave at a recent California Democrats event has drawn far less scrutiny, prompting condemnation from conservative figures and commentators.

The congresswoman recounted being pressed about Musk’s gesture during a Senate <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqz0ld48tC0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hearing</a> in January, calling it “a ridiculous question” from Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT).
&#8220;The American people are smart,&#8221; Stefanik added. &#8220;Neither Elon Musk or [Booker] are giving the Nazi salute. Americans see thru this obvious and destructive double standard by the totally broken media and Democrat Party.&#8221;
Conservative communicator Steve Guest echoed the sentiment.

Musk responded to several of the posts, criticizing the mainstream media.
In one, Musk <a href="https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1929191362777231827" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>, &#8220;They are such hypocrites.&#8221; In another, he <a href="https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1929181905657700610" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>, &#8220;Legacy media is one big psy op.&#8221;
Booker&#8217;s team defended the senator, dismissing comparisons to Musk&#8217;s wave.

The book &#8220;talks about Joe Biden and the people around him seeing that he had cognitive and physical decline. Did you ever have a moment with him where you thought maybe he was unfit to run for president?&#8221; Smith asked.
