Actress Charlize Theron shared a warning with any individuals who take issue with drag queens.
The 47-year-old star was participating in the “Drag Isn’t Dangerous” telethon, a star-studded event meant to raise money for “charitable LGBTQ causes.” The event featured live entertainment and performances from Hollywood celebrities.
Theron used the opportunity to confirm her support for the drag performers.
“We love you queens! We’re in your corner, and we’ve got you, and I will f*** anybody up who is, like, trying to f*** with anything with you guys,” the “Mad Max” star said during the event.
“In all seriousness, there are so many things that are hurting and, really, killing our kids, right, and we all know what I’m talking about right now.”
Theron went on to say that drag was virtuous and made viewers “better” for watching it.
“If you’ve ever seen a drag queen lip sync for her life, it only makes you happier, it only makes you love more. It makes you a better person,” Theron said. “F***, if I could do a death drop right now I would, but I would probably like, break my hip,” she said.
Theron concluded by asking viewers to “support all the great organizations that are out there helping all of this nonsense going away like it should, all of these incredibly stupid policies.”
These so-called “stupid policies” include legislation introduced in multiple states which would restrict sexually explicit performances in front of children. Many of these bills do not mention drag specifically but rather encompass any performances that are inappropriate for minors.

For example, Republican Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee signed a bill into law that was set to take effect April 1 that banned “adult cabaret entertainment” on public property or where minors can witness it.
Theron is a vocal advocate for LGBTQ people. Her adopted son identifies as transgender, which the actress said began at a very young age.
“Yes, I thought she was a boy, too,” the actress told Daily Mail in 2019. “Until she looked at me when she was three years old and said: ‘I am not a boy!’ So there you go! I have two beautiful daughters who, just like any parent, I want to protect and I want to see thrive.”
“They were born who they are and exactly where in the world both of them get to find themselves as they grow up, and who they want to be, is not for me to decide,” Theron said.
