<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">But the scene became chaotic as the person behind the camera brought up Gaza and other attendees at the march recognized Wiener.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“I think your policy on the genocide of Gaza is terrible,” the person filming Wiener said while leftists in masks surrounded the state senator. “I think you do not belong here.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Other leftists in masks surrounded Wiener while he walked, calling him a “genocidal piece of sh*t” and yelling, “We f*cking hate you!”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Former MTV reality star Spencer Pratt, who recently ran a viral campaign to become mayor of Los Angeles, reminded Wiener of the state senator’s own accusations against him.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Minneapolis board agreed on a proposal to repeal the ban on commercial sex venues — like bathhouses — on Thursday, just days before the Twin Cities Pride Festival</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The nine members who voted for the proposal are all Democrats, but some are affiliated with the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL) and the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Democrat </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Elizabeth Shaffer, one of the two dissenters, said she had decided to vote against the policy after hearing concerns from her constituents, and </span><a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/news/minneapolis-city-council-adult-bathhouse-vote/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">added</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> that since the city is  expecting a budget shortfall,  &#8220;I don&#8217;t think this is a top priority for expanding city services.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The bathhouses were banned in Minneapolis in 1988 during the height of the AIDS epidemic because of the link between homosexual activity and the spread of the virus. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The advocacy group Action Network, which was one of the major organizations that pushed for lifting the bathhouse ban, </span><a href="https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/repeal-the-ban-on-bathhouses"><span style="font-weight: 400;">said</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> that the ban actually inhibited public health because it “has driven sexually-related gatherings underground, often to unsafe and inaccessible spaces.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Social science research tells us that commercial sex spaces, like gay saunas, are important for promoting safer sex practices, enhancing HIV prevention, and increasing access to testing and treatment,” the Action network added. “These spaces also enhance feelings of identity, camaraderie, authenticity, and belonging.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Socialist council member Jason Chavez, who co-authored the repeal, said that he knows “as the only out LGBTQ+ person on this council” that the ban was mired in “homophobia.”</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This repeal of the bathhouse ban follows the “Pride in Policy” package Minneapolis has passed to show support of its LGBTQ residents. This package includes updating city codes with more “gender inclusive” language and “a study on how to expand all-gender restrooms across the city,” ABC News </span><a href="https://kstp.com/kstp-news/top-news/minneapolis-council-votes-to-lift-38-year-ban-on-adult-bathhouses-and-sex-venues/?utm_campaign=snd-autopilot&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter_KSTP"><span style="font-weight: 400;">reports</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Additionally, Minneapolis is updating its public indecency laws to be more LGBTQ-inclusive.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Council must follow up this repeal on bathhouses to lay down zoning and safety regulations. Other Minnesota cities like Duluth and St. Paul already allow commercial sex venues on varying levels of oversight.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Trump administration appears to be abandoning Biden’s opposition to African anti-gay laws.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The administration has so far remained silent on harsh anti-gay legislation passed by the Ghana Parliament in May, and it seems to be in line with President Trump’s broader strategy to prioritize strategic national interest over social issues in foreign policy decisions.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Ghana bill carries a three-year maximum sentence for identifying as LGBTQ. It still requires the signature of Ghana President John Mahama — but he has </span><a href="https://www.wsj.com/world/africa/in-about-face-trump-administration-drops-opposition-to-africas-antigay-laws-8ad3a2ae"><span style="font-weight: 400;">suggested support</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> for it.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Shortly after the law passed its parliament, Ghana </span><a href="https://www.reuters.com/legal/government/african-lawmakers-back-push-tougher-anti-lgbt-laws-after-ghana-conference-2026-06-19/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">hosted</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> a major conference in Accra earlier this month, where lawmakers from more than a dozen African countries pledged to reject international agreements favoring gender ideology and abortion.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In 2023, the Biden administration levied a strong diplomatic response to anti-gay legislation in Uganda. The country’s goods were cut off from U.S. markets and visa restrictions were imposed on top officials.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Ugandan </span><a href="https://www.parliament.go.ug/sites/default/files/The%20Anti-Homosexuality%20Act%2C%202023.pdf"><span style="font-weight: 400;">law</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> is much harsher than Ghana&#8217;s, carrying sentences as high as life in prison for consensual homosexual acts, and 20 years in prison for providing housing, medical care, or financial support to LGBTQ individuals.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Laws criminalizing homosexuality are widespread across the continent, with all forms of homosexuality illegal in more than half its countries. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Trump’s foreign policy places strong value on maintaining diplomatic relations in the region where the U.S. is constantly competing for influence with China and Russia. Ghana is considered a relatively stable partner in West Africa, where Islamic terrorism has become increasingly prevalent.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">African legislators have become more emboldened to push back against Western pressure on cultural issues. “The idea of man marrying man and woman marrying woman is an abomination to our tradition and culture as Ghanaians,” said a statement quoted in the Ghana bill.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The State Department has not yet shared whether it will take a position on Ghana’s bill. “We refer you to the governments of Ghana and Uganda regarding legislation in their countries,” a spokesman <a href="https://www.wsj.com/world/africa/in-about-face-trump-administration-drops-opposition-to-africas-antigay-laws-8ad3a2ae">said</a>, according to the Wall Street Journal. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Unlike the Biden era, the current administration seems to be treating the issue as one for foreign governments to decide internally, while focusing U.S. diplomacy on issues that directly concern American citizens. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The silence has angered some human rights groups, who warn that it could signal approval to other governments to pass the same kinds of restrictions.</span></p>

Trump Admin Reverses US Opposition to Africa’s LGBT Restrictions

<p class="paragraph-block break-words article-body text-left">Major League Baseball issued a statement on Tuesday trying to downplay its clear targeting of Christian players on the San Francisco Giants who rejected a recent LGBT &#8220;Pride Night&#8221; game.</p>
<p>After the MLB boasted to The Athletic, a subsidiary of the New York Times, that a handful of Christian players have been &#8220;warned&#8221; about writing Bible verses on their baseball caps, the league issued a follow-up statement on Tuesday.</p>
<p>“To be clear, this routine verbal warning not to wear the hat in future games is not disciplinary and had absolutely nothing to do with the content of the message,&#8221; the MLB said, according to sports broadcaster Blake Niemann. &#8220;We respect players’ right to free expression. However, writing of any kind, with any message, is prohibited per Major League Baseball’s Uniform Regulations.&#8221;</p>
<p>The statement seemed to come in response to mounting backlash the league was receiving for singling out the handful of players who counter-signaled or rejected the LGBT rainbow-themed baseball caps for a &#8220;Pride Night&#8221; event. As highlighted by The Daily Wire, Giants starting pitcher <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/giants-pitcher-refuses-to-hide-christian-faith-during-pride-night">Landen Roupp</a> etched a Bible passage found in Genesis on the cap. Other players, JT Brubaker and Ryan Walker, followed suit, standing up for their Christian faith and also adding Bible verses. Relief pitcher Sam Hentges refused to wear the rainbow cap altogether, stating, “I don’t morally support it.”</p>
<p class="paragraph-block break-words article-body text-left">&#8220;The writing on the cap violates our rules, and consistent with normal practice we have warned the players about future violations,&#8221; the MLB said on Monday.</p>
<p class="paragraph-block break-words article-body text-left">The Giants also issued a statement that championed &#8220;inclusion&#8221; and apologized for the team&#8217;s Christian players apparently hurting the LGBT community: “We understand that the choices by individual players have caused pain and anger to many in the LGBTQ+ community and we are sorry for that,&#8221; the team said.</p>
<p>MLB fans and political commentators don&#8217;t seem to be buying the league&#8217;s latest spin. <p>Notably, the MLB faced backlash in 2023 after the Los Angeles Dodgers honored the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence — a drag group that mocks Catholicism — during the team&#8217;s &#8220;Pride Night.&#8221; It was also uncovered earlier this year that a Washington Nationals executive said the team avoided featuring pitcher Trevor Williams on social media because of his outspoken Catholic faith.</p>
<p>The MLB also went all-in on the Black Lives Matter movement, allowing BLM patches and messages on uniforms, displaying BLM-themed logos on fields, and promoting player-led campaigns against racism. In 2021, the league even moved its All-Star Game from Atlanta over a voter ID law the league apparently viewed as racist.</p>

<p>The post captions a letter asking MLB Commissioner Robert Manfred about the apparent discrimination. Demanding answers by June 19, Hawley asks for information on &#8220;[a]ny policy, directive, or expectation-formal or informal governing whether players are required, encouraged, or expected to wear Pride Night caps, jerseys, or other themed apparel, and whether a player who declines to do so faces any consequence beyond the league&#8217;s written rules, including in playing time, roster or assignment decisions, club media and promotion, or standing within the organization.&#8221;</p>
<p>He also asks for information on &#8220;[a]ll approvals, authorizations, or directives by which the league created, permitted, or arranged the display of &#8216;Black Lives Matter,&#8217; &#8216;United for Change,&#8217; or comparable messaging on jerseys, mounds, or equipment, and any guidance by which the league relaxed its equipment rules to allow players to display social or political messages.&#8221;</p>
<p>The senator ended the letter with the following message: &#8220;The freedom to live out one&#8217;s faith does not end at the ballpark gate. Americans of every creed are entitled to confidence that the institutions of our national pastime will not single out religious expression for punishment while celebrating messages of the league&#8217;s own choosing. I trust the league shares that commitment, and I look forward to your prompt and complete response.&#8221;</p>

<p>As The Daily Wire previously reported, starting Giants pitcher <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/giants-pitcher-refuses-to-hide-christian-faith-during-pride-night">Landen Roupp</a> on Friday etched a Bible passage found in Genesis onto his Giants cap, right next to the LGBT-themed rainbow logo the team had directed him to wear. Other players, JT Brubaker and Ryan Walker, followed suit in standing up for their Christian faith, also adding Bible verses. And relief pitcher Sam Hentges refused to wear the rainbow cap altogether, stating, “I don’t morally support it.”</p>
<p>MLB’s chief communications officer Pat Courtney told The Athletic on Monday that these players have been “warned” about “future violations.” He said that writing on the team’s baseball caps “violates our rules.”</p>
<p>The Giants also addressed the Christian players. In a statement ironically about “inclusion,” the team apologized for its players apparently causing “pain and anger to many in the LGBTQ+ community.”</p>
<p>“The San Francisco Giants are proud to support Pride Night and the LGBTQ+ community,” the statement said. “Baseball should be a place where everyone feels welcome, respected, and valued. We also respect that individuals may make personal choices about participating in team activations. We understand that the choices by individual players have caused pain and anger to many in the LGBTQ+ community and we are sorry for that.”</p>
<p>“Those choices do not change our organization’s commitment to inclusion, belonging, and creating a welcoming environment for all,” the team closed. “We remain grateful to our fans, partners, employees, players, and coaches who help make Pride Night a meaningful celebration.”</p>

<p>&#8220;Because I have no idea,&#8221; Morgan admitted.</p>
<p>Knowles interjected then, explaining, &#8220;You know, 2[S] means two-spirit.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Two-spirit. What’s that?&#8221; Morgan asked.</p>
<p>Barr, clearly unsure of his answer, guessed, &#8220;I think that is a[n] American-Canadian …&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;You have no idea, do you?&#8221; Knowles interjected.</p>
<p>&#8220;Brilliant! You have no idea!&#8221; Morgan exclaimed. &#8220;We’re celebrating something. You have no idea what you’re celebrating!&#8221;</p>
<p>At that point, Knowles jumped in to explain further: &#8220;In the interest of Pride, I&#8217;ll tell you what it is: They say that Two Spirit was this ancient Native American sexual identity, but it&#8217;s not actually. It was invented in 1990 —&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;How does Michael Knowles know this and you don’t?!&#8221; Morgan asked, equally incredulous and amused by the direction the conversation had taken. He went on to take Barr apart over his blind support for a community described by an acronym that he clearly did not understand.</p>
<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re spending a month celebrating stuff that you can&#8217;t even explain what we&#8217;re celebrating!&#8221; Morgan concluded.</p>

But for those of you who are &#8230; prepping &#8230; we have an extensive lineup of high-fiber recipes available. Happy Pride.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The post is a reference to anal sex and preparation for sexual activity. The company further amplified the &#8220;joke&#8221; by using a suggestive promotional code from a commenter. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;Use code BOTTOMSUP for a Pride Month discount,&#8221; the company wrote.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">But reactions elsewhere were far less favorable. The advertisement drew sharp criticism on X, where users questioned why a food company was making explicit sexual jokes as part of its Pride Month promotion.</span></p>

<p data-start="302" data-end="609">This is not the first instance of HelloFresh&#8217;s social media team drawing attention for injecting politics into its marketing. In April, after President Donald Trump participated in a widely publicized <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/doordash-worker-delivers-trump-mcdonalds/">McDonald DoorDash</a> delivery to the White House, the company mocked the president on social media.</p>
<p data-start="614" data-end="789">&#8220;We considered dropping off a HelloFresh box at a very famous house (painted white)&#8230; but we didn&#8217;t want to overwhelm anyone with &#8216;step 1: preheat oven,'&#8221; the company <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DXHevUmCf7x/?hl=en">posted</a>.</p>
<p data-start="329" data-end="817">The campaign is not the first time a major food company has used sexual themes during Pride Month marketing. In 2022, the Uber-owned food delivery service Postmates launched a &#8220;bottom-friendly&#8221; Pride campaign developed with an anal surgeon that promoted specific foods for those preparing to engage in anal sex. Critics at the time argued that such campaigns reflected a growing trend of corporations moving beyond traditional rainbow-themed Pride marketing and increasingly incorporating explicit sexual references into advertising.</p>
<p data-start="1044" data-end="1274">Several commenters said the ad had convinced them to cancel subscriptions or avoid the company altogether, arguing that HelloFresh had unnecessarily injected explicit sexual content into what is ostensibly a food delivery service. Despite the blowback, HelloFresh seems to be trying to turn back the clock to a much more explicit era of Pride.</p>
<p data-start="1279" data-end="1356">At time of publishing, HelloFresh had not publicly responded to the backlash.</p>

HelloFresh Crosses Line With Repulsive Pride Month Ad. It’s Sickening.

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Conservative activist Robby Starbuck, an American producer and director, is raising new concerns about Harley-Davidson&#8217;s commitment to abandoning diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, arguing that the iconic motorcycle maker&#8217;s new CEO has a long history of supporting such programs.</span></p>
<p>Starbuck published <a href="https://x.com/robbystarbuck/status/2062167155882303663"><span style="font-weight: 400;">research</span></a> on Wednesday examining Harley-Davidson CEO Artie Starrs, who <a href="https://investor.harley-davidson.com/news/news-details/2025/Harley-Davidson-Appoints-Artie-Starrs-as-President-and-Chief-Executive-Officer/default.aspx"><span style="font-weight: 400;">took over the company in October 2025, </span></a>roughly a year after Harley-Davidson backed away from DEI policies following significant consumer backlash.</p>
<p>According to Starbuck, Starrs promoted DEI initiatives during previous leadership roles at Topgolf and Pizza Hut and later hired a chief brand officer with a similar background.</p>
<p>Harley-Davidson announced in 2024 that it would <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/harley-davidson-becomes-latest-company-to-back-away-from-dei-policies"><span style="font-weight: 400;">scale back</span></a> several DEI-related initiatives after facing criticism from customers and activists. The company said at the time that it would focus on its core business and customer base.</p>
<p>Starbuck argues that Starrs&#8217; record raises questions about whether the company is truly moving away from those policies.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While Starrs was CEO at Topgolf from 2021 to 2025, the company maintained employee resource groups and public initiatives supporting LGBT causes. Starbuck also highlighted social media posts from Starrs&#8217; time at Pizza Hut that promoted diversity and inclusion efforts. </span></p>

<p>More recently, Starbuck criticized Starrs&#8217; decision to hire Marcus Fischer as Harley-Davidson&#8217;s chief brand officer.</p>
<p>Before joining Harley-Davidson, Fischer served as CEO of advertising agency Carmichael Lynch. Starbuck argued that the agency actively promoted DEI initiatives, LGBT advocacy efforts, and diversity-focused employee programs.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Starbuck reviews several of Fischer’s social media posts, revealing his support for the LGBTQ community, celebrating a diversity achievement for Hilary Clinton, and anticipating DEI conferences such as the National Diversity &amp; Leadership Conference. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Fischer responded to an Instagram post asking what Carmichael Lynch was doing to “ally” with the LGBTQ community. He said the company hosted an in-office drag event, raising $12K for the Family Tree Clinic, which “specializes in LGBTQIA+ healthcare access.”</span></p>
<p>Harley-Davidson disputed suggestions that it is reviving DEI programs.</p>
<p>In a <a href="https://investor.harley-davidson.com/news/news-details/2026/A-Message-from-Harley-Davidson-2026-XCFq9dvqFM/default.aspx">statement</a> responding to Starbuck&#8217;s review, the company said its focus remains &#8220;getting back to the basics: building great motorcycles, strengthening our network of 500+ U.S. dealers, and supporting a workforce that is proud of the product they put on the road.&#8221;</p>
<p>The company also pointed to one of Starrs&#8217; first actions as CEO: restoring Harley-Davidson&#8217;s legacy Bar &amp; Shield logo.</p>

<p>The members of New York City&#8217;s Council appear to be picking up where Democratic socialist Mayor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mamdani-says-one-month-isnt-long-enough-to-celebrate-queer-and-trans-new-yorkers">Zohran Mamdani</a> left off when he claimed that one month was not long enough to celebrate all of the queer and trans-identifying people of New York.</p>
<p>&#8220;It would take far more than a month to honor the contributions of queer and transgender New Yorkers. From the Cercle Hermaphroditos in 1895, the first trans advocacy group in the United States, to the drag balls of the Harlem Renaissance, to the Stonewall uprising, to the Lesbian Herstory Archives, to ACT UP!, founded in 1987 as queer people fought for their lives while the Reagan administration looked away, New York City&#8217;s history has long been shaped by queer and trans New Yorkers,&#8221; Mamdani said in an X post on June 1. &#8220;To all our queer and trans neighbors: you deserve a City where you can afford to live safely, openly, and joyfully.&#8221;</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Drag queen and environmental activist Pattie Gonia, whose real name is Wyn Wiley, rejected Patagonia’s offer to settle a lawsuit, claiming on social media that the outdoor clothing brand is “trying to erase my advocacy.” </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Patagonia </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DZB1zAYlJJo/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">posted an offer on Instagram</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> in an attempt to resolve its trademark infringement </span><a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.cacd.1003309/gov.uscourts.cacd.1003309.1.0_2.pdf"><span style="font-weight: 400;">lawsuit</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> against Wiley on June 1. The company requested him to “Withdraw all trademark applications &#8230; Stop using our logos &#8230; Stop selling and promoting apparel and other products as Pattie Gonia.” </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“If we can agree on this, we can work out everything else, and Pattie Gonia could continue as a performer and activist,” Patagonia said.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In response, Wiley </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DZDoDSAJn8R/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">posted his rejection</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> of the offer, writing, “If I can’t do partnerships as Pattie Gonia, it breaks the whole ecosystem of advocacy and community engagement.&#8221; </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The public response to these Instagram posts has sparked highly polarized discussions and protests. In the comments section, many LGBTQ advocates and fans of Pattie Gonia accuse Patagonia of homophobia and bullying while vowing never to buy from the brand again. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Prior to the lawsuit, Hydro Flask and Patagonia communicated via email in 2022 to ensure there was no customer confusion for an upcoming collaboration between Hydro Flask and Pattie Gonia. They made an agreement that he would refrain from using Patagonia’s logo, iconic Belwe font, or the name Pattie Gonia on any products. Wiley’s 2025 merch drop, however, featured apparel with the phrase “Pattie Gonia Hiking Club” and stickers with a strikingly similar mountain logo and font. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Patagonia responded in an email to Wiley over the apparent breach. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Patagonia remains supportive of your work but must insist that the Pattie Gonia persona not be commercialized and continue to adhere to the commitments made in 2022,” the company said. “Unfortunately, these latest product sales force Patagonia’s hand and so I’m asking that you discontinue sales of t-shirts and stickers (or any product) using Pattie Gonia branding or designs substantially similar to Patagonia’s logos.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Patagonia’s lawsuit, which was previously </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/patagonia-sues-drag-queen-pattie-gonia-says-hes-caused-irreparable-harm-to-brand"><span style="font-weight: 400;">reported</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> by The Daily Wire, was filed on January 21 in response to Wiley’s trademark application for the rights to the Pattie Gonia brand. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">This matter is not about seeking financial gain, nor is it about challenging anyone’s identity or right to advocacy, protest, or creative expression,” Patagonia said in a recent <a href="https://www.patagoniaworks.com/press/2026/5/27/update-on-protecting-our-brand">press release</a>. “The last thing we wanted was a legal fight with someone who shares our values, but we must protect our business and employees.” </span></p>

<p>Driven primarily by a shift among Republicans, support for LGBT causes is quickly losing steam in the United States.</p>
<p>According to a recent <a href="https://news.gallup.com/poll/710810/support-lgbtq-issues-remains-down-peak.aspx">Gallup poll</a>, support for legal same-sex marriage has flattened among Democrats — and dipped among Republicans — dropping across the board from 71% in 2022 and 2023 to 65% as of May 2026. The survey also found that only 62% of U.S. adults — the lowest number since 2016 — view same-sex relationships as morally acceptable.</p>
<p>In addition, American adults are showing less support for gender transition. Just 38% say it is acceptable for individuals to change their gender, down eight points from the 2021 peak.</p>
<p>The data comes from Gallup&#8217;s annual Values and Beliefs survey, taken between May 1 and 17 of this year, and shows a marked decrease in support — after years of consistent increases — across several prominent LGBT issues. That drop-off, the data indicates, is driven almost entirely by a dramatic shift among Republicans.</p>
<p>As recently as 2022, 55% of Republicans said they supported keeping same-sex marriage legal — but the latest survey shows that number has dropped nearly 20 points to 37%. Independents showed a single-digit drop — from 73% to 67% — over the same period, while Democrats have remained steady at 87% in support of legal same-sex marriage.</p>
<p>Republicans also drove the change in how same-sex relationships were viewed from a moral perspective. In 2022, 56% of Republicans viewed same-sex relationships as morally acceptable — and that number has dropped more than 20 points to 35%. Independents again saw a drop of less than 10 points, from 72% to 64%, and Democrats saw almost no change at 81%.</p>
<p>A similar pattern appeared when those same respondents were asked whether they believed it was morally acceptable for individuals to change their genders. Support among Republicans dropped from 22% in 2021 to 5% in 2026. Independents saw a slight decline from 48% support to 42%, and even Democrats registered a seven-point drop from 67% to 60% in 2026.</p>
<p>The overall pattern is clear: support for the LGBT agenda peaked across all parties in 2021 and 2022, and Democrats have seen the smallest declines in support. Independents have registered slight declines in support across the board, and Republicans have shown the most dramatic shifts across every major issue.</p>
