A famous Minnesota marathon is offering hundreds of discounted tickets to athletes from &#8220;underrepresented communities,&#8221; including racial minorities and LGBT people.
Grandma&#8217;s Marathon in Duluth said it will offer 500 discounted tickets to the special groups, which include but are not limited to &#8220;communities of color, athletes with disabilities, non-binary athletes, and LGBTQI+ athletes.&#8221;
&#8220;In helping with the cost of registration, our organization hopes to open our arms to runners in those communities and to help them feel a sense of belonging within our race, our city, and our sport,&#8221; the marathon&#8217;s website <a href="https://grandmasmarathon.com/the-marathon/diversity-equity-inclusion/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reads</a>.
Entries to the race are coveted. The marathon is already <a href="https://grandmasmarathon.com/the-marathon/#" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sold</a> out, even though it is still five months away. But the marathon&#8217;s website homepage <a href="https://grandmasmarathon.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">emphasizes</a> that &#8220;DEI entries [are] still available.&#8221;
An &#8220;Equity, Access, and Inclusion Policy&#8221; from 2023 on the marathon&#8217;s website <a href="https://grandmasmarathon.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Access-Equity-and-Inclusion-Policy_2023.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">declares</a> that &#8220;our intention [is] to create an event that adheres to principles of social equity and inclusion and is open, welcoming, safe, and accessible for all who have an interest in participating.&#8221;
Despite the marathon&#8217;s repetitive emphasis on inclusivity, it <a href="https://grandmasmarathon.com/the-marathon/diversity-equity-inclusion/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">places</a> restrictions on runners who identify as transgender or non-binary.
Trans-identifying runners who want to be eligible for cash prizes or age-division awards must prove their testosterone has been below a certain level for a year, in some cases longer, and they must have claimed to be female for at least four years.
Meanwhile, runners can register as non-binary for the &#8220;mass participation start,&#8221; but if they want to run in the &#8220;elite fields&#8221; they must email the elite athlete director. They are also restricted to a separate prize pool they can compete for amongst each other.
Marathon organizers did not respond to a request for comment.
DEI policies in both education and the corporate world have <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-radical-intolerance-behind-woke-corporate-activism" target="_blank" rel="noopener">come</a> under fire in recent years from critics who argue they are discriminatory. One of the biggest blows to DEI was the Supreme Court&#8217;s 2023 <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/supreme-court-issues-landmark-ruling-on-affirmative-action-at-universities" target="_blank" rel="noopener">decision</a> to strike down affirmative action at universities. The Court is <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/michelletravis/2024/12/22/the-supreme-court-case-that-will-fuel-the-corporate-dei-debate-in-2025/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">set</a> to rule on another case this year that could have implications for corporate DEI programs.
Already though, companies are taking notice.
On Monday, McDonald&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mcdonalds-backs-away-from-dei-programs-amid-shifting-legal-landscape">announced</a> it will step back from several DEI initiatives, citing a “shifting legal landscape.” Legal experts have <a href="https://www.law.com/newyorklawjournal/2024/04/02/assessing-the-legality-of-dei-programs/?slreturn=20250109141802" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cautioned</a> that in some cases, DEI policies risk causing legal problems.
Grandma’s Marathon, named after its original sponsor, Grandma&#8217;s Restaurant, says it is &#8220;one of the largest and best-known&#8221; marathons in the country and has become a huge community event that marks the &#8220;unofficial kickoff to summer&#8221; for the area.
The race began in 1977 and now attracts more than 20,000 runners every year to run along the shore of Lake Superior into downtown Duluth.

LAFD Assistant Chief Kristine Larson, who reportedly makes $399,000 a year and led the charge against former LAFD Chief Ralph Terrazas, accusing him of ignoring complaints from women in the department, appeared in a video in which she said if someone complained about a woman firefighter’s inability to carry a man out of a fire, her response would be, “He got himself in the wrong place if I have to carry him out of a fire.”
Larson, a lesbian, is “very involved in girls’ fire camps up and down the West Coast which provide leadership, team building and empowerment to young women in high school,” the LAFD states in her <a href="https://lafd.org/equity-and-human-resources-bureau" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bio</a>.
In the video, Larson states, “You want to see somebody that responds to your house, your emergency — whether it’s a medical call or a fire call — that looks like you. It gives that person a little more ease, knowing that somebody might understand their situation better. ‘Is she strong enough to do this?’ Or ‘You couldn’t carry my husband out of a fire.’ Which my response is, ‘He got himself in the wrong place if I have to carry him out of a fire.’”

In October 2021, LA Downtown News <a href="https://www.ladowntownnews.com/news/female-firefighters-call-for-lafd-chief-s-resignation/article_fd8e9c14-351d-11ec-a938-cfe5361589f1.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that Larson, other female firefighters, and outside coalitions issued a letter to then-Mayor Eric Garcetti, accusing the Los Angeles Fire Department of “rampant sexism, racism and abuse in the ranks that women and minorities routinely face.” They demanded Garcetti terminate Fire Chief Ralph Terrazas.

Larson was a <a href="https://www.firehouse.com/home/contact/53028987/kristine-larson" target="_blank" rel="noopener">founding member</a> of Equity on Fire (EOF) coalition; she served as president of Los Angeles Women in the Fire Service. She had criticized the LAFD, saying, “We (the LAFD) have a history of doing bad things to people who report abuses in this organization. &#8230; The deep-seated tradition of not ‘ratting’ people out — if that’s what you want to call it — keeps people in fear of not saying anything, and that’s the culture we have to change. If you’re being discriminated against, you should be able to make a complaint, have it validated and have that individual punished. That’s not what’s happening, because people are too afraid to say anything, and they suffer in silence for it.”

You’ve probably heard of the classic rhetorical question known as the paradox of tolerance: should we tolerate the intolerant? Equally as important as that question, however, are the presuppositions embedded in it: who decides who the intolerant actually are, and what exactly does it mean to not tolerate them in civil society? Rest easy, a corporate activist group called the Human Rights Campaign has graciously <a href="https://x.com/IsaacWillour/status/1876656703996829703" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shouldered the burden</a> of deciding who America’s biggest businesses should and shouldn’t tolerate. And if you’re reading this, you’re probably on the blacklist.
What is the Human Rights Campaign (HRC)? Formed in 1980, the group is currently the most dominant force pushing progressivism and non-fiduciary activism through the boardrooms of corporate America. Much of this is done through a ranking system known as the Corporate Equality Index, which grades how ‘inclusive’ companies are on a scale of 1–100. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the conditions for a perfect score aren’t merely tied to nondiscrimination (because that would be too easy), but conveniently have to do with how far a company is willing to go to validate Left-wing cultural talking points.
Recently, the HRC released its <a href="https://reports.hrc.org/corporate-equality-index-2025" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2025 edition</a> of the Index. Allow me to walk you through a few of the “tolerant” and “inclusive” talking points contained within. The HRC will drop a company’s score (in other words, brand a company less tolerant) for:
<ul>
<li>“undue influence by a significant shareholder calculated to undermine a business’ practices related to its LGBTQ+ employees.” In other words, listening to shareholders concerned about the impact of woke policies. </li>
<li>“advocating for public policies or regulations related to LGBT+ equality that would be detrimental to employees and their families.” This could mean anything, including policies aimed at protecting religious liberty and free expression.</li>
</ul>
And maybe most egregiously:
<ul>
<li>“directing corporate charitable contributions to organizations whose primary mission includes advocacy against LGBTQ+ equality.” Underneath all those nice-sounding words is a sinister reality: donating to organizations that push back on the extremes of gender ideology is now intolerant—and not to be tolerated.</li>
</ul>
Let’s not mince words about who that includes: That means countless religious nonprofits; countless educational institutions; countless ministry and humanitarian organizations that do incredible good for humanity are all considered intolerant. Chances are, that also means your personal place of worship. Any business that dares to support these sorts of organizations, or the groups that support them, is intolerant under the dictates of the policing activists at HRC.

And despite encouraging recent trends, corporate America is still listening to these activist sentiments. Take Meta. They recently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/massive-maga-win-facebook-reverses-its-censorship?topStoryPosition=3">phased out fact-checking</a> in an apparent win for free speech and online expression. Yet, they currently have a perfect score on the HRC’s Index. Brands like Amazon, Target, Google, Chase, Microsoft, &amp; Disney? All top-tier <a href="https://www.hrc.org/about/corporate-partners" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sponsors</a> of an organization that considers donating to a religious pregnancy center a mark of inexcusable bigotry.
The only real bigotry and radicalism here is their own. Activist groups like HRC, in claiming to fight for tolerance, embrace intolerance at the first sign of anything less than total fealty to their radical demands. They’re more than happy to (inaccurately) paint critics of DEI and ESG as “far-right” radicals, “aimed at rolling back progress for non-discrimination.” 2024 saw many businesses <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/how-left-wing-activists-are-trying-to-save-corporate-wokeness" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cut ties</a> with the HRC — and in response, the HRC <a href="https://www.hrc.org/press-releases/hrc-foundation-announces-record-participation-in-upcoming-2025-corporate-equality-index-docks-scores-of-seven-companies-in-current-ranking-following-their-pullback-from-workplace-inclusion#:~:text=The%2025%20point%20Responsible%20Citizenship,fall%20to%2070%20from%2095" target="_blank" rel="noopener">smeared</a> them as “retreating from inclusion,” because being pro-business, to corporate activists, apparently stops the minute you don’t get what you want.
2025 should be the year that the pendulum truly swings away from the HRC. It’s far past time to stop using corporate resources (read: shareholder money) to appease activists who believe that covering puberty blockers for children is an indispensable element of a company’s healthcare plan. The corporate engagement work that many in the DEI/ESG skeptic crowd, including myself, engage in every day, is not about pressuring companies into some “conservative” version of corporate activism. It’s about true political neutrality across the board — zero discrimination, zero partisan side-taking, and zero biased policies.
The HRC, and many of the other activist organizations we’re up against, apparently don’t want that. And that says far more about them than it does about anyone else.

The past few years have seen Americans roundly reject the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) ideology universities have long pushed on faculty and students alike.
Even before the Supreme Court ruled against affirmative action at universities, a majority of Americans, 62%, <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/us/most-americans-think-college-admissions-should-not-consider-race-reutersipsos-2023-02-15/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">opposed</a> race-based college admissions. At least a dozen states, including one with a Democratic governor, have cracked down on DEI at their higher education institutions in the past few years.
In 2024, seven states signed legislation against DEI or stripped funding for it at universities — Alabama, Idaho, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Utah, and Wyoming. Those states join Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and North Dakota, all of which moved against DEI before last year.
In April, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, a Democrat, allowed the legislature to enact a new <a href="https://www.kslegislature.gov/li/b2023_24/measures/documents/hb2105_enrolled.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">law</a> that fines public universities $10,000 if they use DEI policies in hiring faculty or accepting students.
&#8220;While I have concerns about this legislation, I don’t believe that the conduct targeted in this legislation occurs in our universities,&#8221; Kelly <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/six-states-banned-limited-dei-colleges-universities-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> of the bill.
In Utah, Governor Spencer Cox, a Republican, signed a <a href="https://le.utah.gov/~2024/bills/static/HB0261.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bill</a> prohibiting universities from having &#8220;diversity, equity and inclusion&#8221; programs, practices, or required trainings.
The law says such &#8220;discriminatory&#8221; practices include asserting that &#8220;meritocracy is inherently racist or sexist&#8221; or &#8220;that an individual, by virtue of the individual’s personal identity characteristics, bears responsibility for actions committed in the past by other individuals with the same personal identity characteristics.&#8221;
Alabama&#8217;s new <a href="https://arc-sos.state.al.us/ucp/L1499133.AI1.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">law</a> banning DEI offices from public universities, K-12 school systems, and state agencies <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/alabama-universities-shutter-dei-offices-new-law-rcna163400" target="_blank" rel="noopener">took</a> effect in October.
The Alabama law also prohibits pushing certain &#8220;divisive concepts&#8221; in public settings, including that a person can be &#8220;inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or subconsciously&#8221; due to his race, sex, or religion.
In response, the University of Alabama&#8217;s three campuses shuttered their DEI offices.
The Alabama law also addresses the transgender bathroom issue. It requires restrooms at public universities to be designated on the basis of biological sex with &#8220;penalties for violation.&#8221;
Indiana passed a <a href="https://iga.in.gov/pdf-documents/123/2024/senate/bills/SB0202/SB0202.06.ENRH.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">law</a> in March banning universities from requiring diversity statements from employees or students. The law also requires universities to have policies where faculty cannot get tenure if they have not encouraged “free expression and intellectual diversity” or have taught students political views unrelated to their classes. It also orders universities to explore ways to promote recruitment of &#8220;underrepresented&#8221; students, not just minority students.
Iowa passed a <a href="https://www.legis.iowa.gov/legislation/BillBook?ga=90&amp;ba=SF%202435" target="_blank" rel="noopener">law</a> in May barring its three state universities from having DEI offices or requiring anyone to submit a DEI statement. And Wyoming <a href="https://www.uwyo.edu/news/2024/03/a-message-from-the-president-legislative-actions-regarding-uw.html#:~:text=Most%20notably%2C%20the%20Legislature%20reduced,%2C%20effective%20July%201%2C%202024." target="_blank" rel="noopener">defunded</a> the DEI office at the University of Wyoming, which had been getting $1.73 million.
A number of other states banned certain DEI policies before last year. Florida now has several anti-DEI laws, including a 2023 law that <a href="https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/931/?Tab=BillHistory" target="_blank" rel="noopener">prohibits</a> public universities from requiring a &#8220;political loyalty test&#8221; from employees or students or giving them preferential treatment based on race or ideology. Another Florida law from that year bans using state or federal funds for DEI at public universities.
Last month, Idaho&#8217;s state education board unanimously <a href="https://www.chronicle.com/article/in-sweeping-action-idahos-education-board-bans-dei-ideology-on-college-campuses" target="_blank" rel="noopener">voted</a> to ban race and gender policies and cultural centers at its public universities.
In 2021, Idaho barred public colleges and K-12 schools from DEI statements, or compelling “students to personally affirm, adopt, or adhere to” certain concepts related to sex, race, and religion. The same year, the state <a href="https://www.highereddive.com/news/idaho-education-board-bans-dei-boise-state-university-idaho-state-lewis-clark/735987/#:~:text=In%202021%2C%20the%20Legislature%20passed,%2C%20color%2C%20or%20national%20origin." target="_blank" rel="noopener">cut</a> $2.5 million from state funding for social justice programming at its three public universities.
In 2023, North Dakota enacted a new law <a href="https://ndlegis.gov/assembly/68-2023/regular/documents/23-0417-02000.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">banning</a> DEI statements at universities as well as mandatory DEI training. A student or school employee may not be required to agree with concepts like &#8220;race or sex scapegoating&#8221; or that an individual &#8220;should feel discomfort, guilt, anguish, or another form of psychological distress solely because of the individual&#8217;s race or sex,&#8221; the law says.
The same year, Texas enacted a <a href="https://capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/88R/billtext/pdf/SB00017F.pdf#navpanes=0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">law</a> requiring public universities to confirm that they do not require DEI statements or have a DEI office before they can spend any state money.
In 2022, Tennessee <a href="https://www.insidehighered.com/news/faculty-issues/diversity-equity/2023/04/18/tennessee-again-targets-divisive-concepts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">passed</a> a law saying public university students and employees cannot be penalized for not agreeing with certain “divisive concepts” including that “the rule of law does not exist, but instead is a series of power relationships and struggles among racial or other groups.”
The state doubled down in 2023 with another law banning mandatory implicit bias training and inviting students and employees to report violations.
North Carolina passed a <a href="https://www.ncleg.gov/Sessions/2023/Bills/Senate/PDF/S364v6.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">law</a> in 2023 making it illegal to force state employees, including those at public universities to give their opinion about &#8220;matters of contemporary political debate or social action.&#8221;
The state&#8217;s Democratic governor vetoed the bill, saying it would get rid of training to help people understand &#8220;the unconscious bias we all bring to our work and our communities.&#8221; However, the legislature <a href="https://ncleg.gov/BillLookUp/2023/S364" target="_blank" rel="noopener">overrode</a> the governor&#8217;s veto.
A slew of other states have proposed anti-DEI legislation as well, but so far they have not been successful.

These States Have Cracked Down On DEI At Colleges

A former inmate is suing the Washington Corrections Center for Women, accusing the prison of forcing her to share a cell with a trans-identifying man who harassed and sexually assaulted her.
In an exclusive interview with The Daily Wire, Mozzy Clark said that prison officials ignored her pleas for help and protection from the 6&#8217;4&#8243; man, who repeatedly made sexual comments to her and asked her to engage in sexual acts with him. It wasn&#8217;t until she awoke to inmate Chris Williams sexually assaulting her that prison officials removed him as her cellmate — and even then, she still had to see Williams throughout the prison, according to Clark.
&#8220;I woke up to our officer pounding on my door and it scared me,&#8221; she told The Daily Wire in a Monday phone interview. Then she realized that Williams was hulking over her and &#8220;jerking&#8221; his hands out of her pants, and she says she froze. 
&#8220;What are you doing down there?&#8221; she said the officer demanded of Williams. &#8220;Why are you sitting there? Get up in your bed.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;m sitting there and she looks at me and she&#8217;s like, &#8216;Are you ok?&#8217; And I just&#8230;I couldn&#8217;t even say anything.&#8221;
She wept as she recounted how traumatized she was by the incident, and by the failure of prison officials to heed her pleas for help until it was too late.
&#8220;I don&#8217;t understand why it had to lead up to this,&#8221; she wept. &#8220;Before you pulled him out of my room. I don&#8217;t. It shouldn&#8217;t have had to get up to that point.&#8221;
Clark said that she had repeatedly complained to prison officials, begging them to remove Williams as her roommate. She described how he would come into their shower rooms and stare at her naked body as she bathed, follow her into the bathroom, watch her use the toilet, and jeer to her about how other women in the jail wanted to pay him for sexual favors.
But according to her lawsuit, filed last week in the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington at Tacoma, &#8220;her objections were laughed off and dismissed&#8221; by the prison officials.
&#8220;They also actively discouraged her from lodging an official complaint or talking about her victimization, all in furtherance of the prison’s policy of housing biological males in the women’s prison,&#8221; the complaint says.

Represented by the Pivtorak Law Firm, Clark is alleging that she &#8220;suffered extreme and permanent trauma and severe emotional distress, the effects of which she continues to suffer today.&#8221; The suit specifically names the state of Washington, the Department of Corrections, Lieutenant Dennis Simons, Sergeant Regina Williams, Officer Theresa Ayotte, and Officer Brooks.
&#8220;Prison officials were well aware that allowing biological males into a female prison creates a substantially increased risk of harm to female prisoners, including intimidation, violence, and sexual assault,&#8221; the complaint states.&#8221; Prison officials also knew that allowing biological males into a female prison violates the basic human rights of women, including the right to be safe from the risk of increased harm, and the right to privacy and dignity (by not being compelled to sleep, shower, or otherwise be naked in the presence of incarcerated men, or exposed to the naked bodies of incarcerated men), and the right to not be compelled, coerced, or pressured into using speech that reflects a belief that conflicts with biological reality.&#8221;
It continues: &#8220;Despite this knowledge, Defendants forced Ms. Clark to share a cell with a 6 foot, 4 inch biological male who was known to be a violent, convicted sexual predator. During the time Ms. Clark was locked in a cage with this man, he continually talked to her in a sexually explicit manner, touched his genitals luridly in front of her, threatened Plaintiff with sexual violence, and when prison officials did nothing about this behavior, went on to sexually assault her multiple times.&#8221;
Just because someone is incarcerated, that does not mean that they lose their constitutional rights to human dignity and physical safety, Clark&#8217;s lawyer, David Pivtorak, told The Daily Wire on Monday.
&#8220;That&#8217;s why the practice of segregating men and women in these correctional institutions has been the practice for, you know, as long as they have been around,&#8221; he explained, &#8220;to not have men and women be in the same cell. Because women do have the right to privacy and they do have the right to physical safety, which is impossible when you have men and women together in the same space.&#8221;
&#8220;This case illustrates what happens when you take this radical gender ideology to its logical conclusion,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Not only are you talking about the erasure of women&#8217;s spaces entirely, but literally offering women up as sacrificial lambs to biological male males who are violent sexual predators.&#8221; 
The Department of Corrections did not immediately respond to a request for comment on this story.

Earlier this year, a Minnesota hospital issued a profuse apology to staff after failing to abide by its “values of respect and justice” — by giving out free Chick-fil-A.
Staff at Essentia Health in Duluth complained about the free sandwiches available in the St. Mary’s Medical Center’s <a href="https://www.essentiahealth.org/find-facility/essentia-health-st-marys-medical-center-duluth-building-b/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">atrium</a>, an email chain obtained by The Daily Wire shows.
“Please spread the word that Chick-fil-A will be handing out free sandwiches” from 2:15 to 3:30 p.m. wrote Tammy Kritzer, senior vice president for regional operations at Essentia Health.
Several health care professionals responded indignantly.

“Chick-fil-A is an Anti-LGBTQ+ business and I would not recommend supporting them in any way. We need to protect vulnerable communities during this time and at all times,” one male licensed practical nurse wrote.
“I’m not sure Essentia realizes the message they are sending to their LGBTQ+ employees (or patients) with this affiliation. The sandwiches might be free, but the implicit endorsement certainly has a cost,” wrote a medical laboratory scientist whose email signature has “they/them” pronouns.
The emails critical of Chick-fil-A got dozens of thumbs up and heart emoji reactions, while another message suggesting the staffers calm down did not get such a warm response.
“It is just a Sandwich,” one employee responded. “Plenty of the items Essentia Health uses in the healthcare industry to include supplies and equipment were likely made in China. It doesn’t mean that Essentia supports communism or government oppression.”
Chick-fil-A has drawn the ire of LGBT activists over the years, who have boycotted and staged protests over the company <a href="https://thinkprogress.org/chick-fil-a-anti-lgbtq-donations-tax-filings-62ca15281f17/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">donating</a> to groups like the Salvation Army, which activists claim has “a record of anti-LGBTQ discrimination.” In fact, the company <a href="https://www.chick-fil-a.com/dei" target="_blank" rel="noopener">emphasizes</a> that it “values diversity, equity and inclusion” and does not discriminate or tolerate harassment on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.
Some cities have <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc-out/chick-fil-banned-second-airport-two-weeks-n991016">prevented</a> Chick-fil-A from opening locations at their airports, including Buffalo, New York, and San Antonio, Texas. The chain famously does not open on Sundays to honor the Lord’s Day, Chick-fil-A’s founder<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/chick-fil-a-closes-on-sunday-why-2019-7#:~:text=However%2C%20Chick%2Dfil%2DA,never%20open%20on%20a%20Sunday.&amp;text=%22Closing%20our%20business%20on%20Sunday,Chikin%3A%20Inspire%20More%20People.%22"> explained</a>, likely causing it to lose more than $1 billion a year.
Later in the day, Kritzer, the hospital administrator, who has “she/her” pronouns in her email signature, wrote to staff apologizing for the free lunch.
“We have received feedback from some colleagues who were concerned or offended by this occurrence, and we value colleagues feeling comfortable expressing their reservations,” Kritzer wrote.
“We would like to thank our colleagues who had the courage to speak up to widen our lens of inclusivity, and we appreciate all colleagues continuing to live our values of respect and justice,” she said.
The hospital distanced itself from Chick-fil-A in the email, writing that the free lunch was “not intended to endorse a business or business practices,” the email said.

“We respect all we are honored to serve and employ, and situations such as these are an important reminder to consider all viewpoints. As we strive to be thoughtful and inclusive as an organization, we will have learnings along the way,” the email read.
“In the words of Maya Angelou, when we know better, we do better,” the email concluded. “Thank you for giving us grace, as we work to be better, together.”
The hospital did not respond to a request for comment.
Essentia Health is a Catholic hospital system with a <a href="https://www.essentiahealth.org/about/mission-vision-values/catholic" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mission</a> to “promote Christ’s ministry of holistic healing for all human life with special concern for the poor and powerless.”
However, Essentia provides cross-sex hormones and more to minors. According to the <a href="https://stoptheharmdatabase.com/hospital/essentia-health-st-marys-childrens-hospital/">Stop The Harm database</a>, Essentia has performed at least five sex change operations on minors.

A few years ago, a group of researchers and academics embarked on a bold experiment. They wanted to answer the following question: “Is it possible that people with no Ph.D. in any field could write a paper in that field every two weeks and get it published?”
In other words, they wanted to know whether they could write complete gibberish, and still have it published in a prestigious, peer-reviewed academic publication.
What they found was that, indeed, it is quite possible. In fact, it&#8217;s very easy.
For example, the researchers wrote one published <a href="https://newdiscourses.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/HootersPublished.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">paper</a> that explored the conundrum of why straight men might like to eat at Hooters. The paper delved into a fake two-year study concerning a &#8220;thematic analysis of table dialogue&#8221; at Hooters, as well as the concept of &#8220;breastaurant masculinity.&#8221; Yes, &#8220;breastaurant masculinity.&#8221; They use the term about ten times in the paper, and apparently, every time, the editors loved it.
Another hoax paper discussed &#8220;rape culture and queer performativity&#8221; at dog parks in Portland. That one sailed past the editors as well. But maybe the hoaxers&#8217; most impressive work was their article entitled &#8220;Our Struggle Is My Struggle,&#8221; which lifted passages from “Mein Kampf” and placed them in a feminist journal of social work, totally undetected.
The whole exercise was pretty entertaining. And of course it proved its point, which is that peer-reviewed publications will publish anything that sounds like something a Left-wing intellectual would write. And then the experiment ended, and the hoaxers went about their normal lives.
Or at least, that&#8217;s the official story. A <a href="https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10806-024-09934-0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">paper</a> that was just published in the peer-reviewed journal &#8220;Springer Nature,&#8221; out of Germany, has a lot of people questioning whether yet another hoax may be unfolding in the world of academia. To be clear — for reasons I&#8217;ll outline in a moment — it doesn&#8217;t look like a hoax. But a lot of people are hoping it is, because the alternative is just too depressing to contemplate.

A Ph.D. named Colin Wright first drew attention to the <a href="https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10806-024-09934-0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">paper</a> the other day on social media. The paper is entitled, &#8220;Loving the Brine Shrimp: Exploring Queer Feminist Blue Posthumanities to Reimagine the ‘America’s Dead Sea.'&#8221;
The paper is written by someone named &#8220;Ewelina Jarosz,&#8221; who uses &#8220;she/they&#8221; pronouns and holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Media and Cultural Research at &#8220;UKEN,&#8221; Poland.
Here&#8217;s what &#8220;she/they&#8221; came up with. The paper&#8217;s abstract <a href="https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10806-024-09934-0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">states</a>, 
<blockquote>The article aims to transform narratives surrounding Utah’s Great Salt Lake, often referred to as &#8216;America’s Dead Sea,&#8217; by reimagining how brine shrimp are perceived in science, culture, and art. It introduces the concept of hydrosexuality to bridge these realms, thereby enriching feminist blue posthumanities and feminist biology through art-based practices and queer advocacy. &#8230; The hydrosexual perspective challenges settler science by exploring the connections between the reproductive system of brine shrimp and the economy, ecology and culture. &#8230; this cultural analysis draws inspiration from low trophic theory and Queer Death Studies.</blockquote>
The paper goes on to explain that &#8220;hydrosexuality&#8221; is a term that emphasizes the &#8220;more-than-human sensuality and sexuality emphasizing fluidity and relationality&#8221; and &#8220;deploys watery thinking to dissolve&#8221; the &#8220;hegemonic notion of the autonomous and bounded human subject.&#8221;
At this point, you can see why people thought that the Hooters guys had struck again. But then Colin Wright noticed that, in this article, the authors referenced something called a &#8220;postmedia environmental performance&#8221; that they had recently performed in the Great Salt Lake in Utah. The performance was called, &#8220;Cyber Wedding to the Brine Shrimp.&#8221; The performance, according to the authors, was intended to &#8220;express their human love towards the vulnerable yet tough brine shrimp,&#8221; by means of &#8220;a communal bath in the GSL, which some of us, including myself, perceived as making love to the lake.&#8221;
So, naturally, Colin Wright and his followers went looking for the footage. If they could find it, it might demonstrate that these authors weren&#8217;t playing a prank — or if they were, they were really, really committed to the bit.
What Colin Wright and his followers found appears to confirm that this paper is, indeed, real. And the video is very much worth watching.
To be clear, normally, I wouldn&#8217;t subject you to extended footage of eco-sexuals doing their thing. But it&#8217;s been about eight months since I last talked about eco-sexuals, in the context of that show &#8220;Naked Attraction.&#8221; So we&#8217;ve had enough of a cooling-off period, I think. And if this footage is any indication, things are deteriorating very, very quickly in that community.
Here&#8217;s how the &#8220;Cyber Wedding to the Brine Shrimp&#8221; begins. You&#8217;ll notice that the Mystery Science Theater guys have been overlaid to the front of the footage for comedic effect, by one of Colin&#8217;s followers. Watch:

So it begins normally enough. The eco-sexuals announce their intent to marry the brine shrimp. We&#8217;ve all been there. And then, out of nowhere, we hear the voice of the &#8220;Spiral Jetty.&#8221;
That&#8217;s apparently a piece of &#8220;land art&#8221; that was constructed in 1970 by Robert Smithson in the Great Salt Lake. And as you heard, the Spiral Jetty apparently felt the need to insert himself and his personal problems into this wedding. He&#8217;s apparently dry and exposed, and he thinks that&#8217;s relevant to the wedding between these people and these brine shrimp.
So he doesn&#8217;t shut up. He keeps going and going. And eventually he devolves into reciting land acknowledgements. Watch:

No one thinks about getting rid of this guy at any point. That&#8217;s what&#8217;s really incredible about this. Imagine you&#8217;re getting married, and out of nowhere, some effeminate voice pipes up, and starts reciting a land acknowledgement. And then he tells you all about how your wedding will benefit him. Even if you&#8217;re an intersectional feminist, it&#8217;s enough to make you root for global warming to accelerate a little bit and ruin the whole beach.

But eventually the land art quiets down, and they&#8217;re allowed to recite the vows. And then there&#8217;s even more drama, because someone interrupts once again. This is a theme of these eco-sexual weddings, apparently. None of these people can shut up. Watch:

So they ask the shrimp for psychic consent. And one of them says, &#8220;I don&#8217;t hear no. &#8230; My sense is not all of them, but most of them.&#8221;
And apparently, that&#8217;s good enough for these people. They subscribe to the Harvey Weinstein school of ethics over there in Poland&#8217;s eco-sexual community, I suppose. So the marriage takes place, although there&#8217;s a caveat. As the paper puts it: &#8220;To avoid potential harm to living critters, vows were made to the brine shrimp’s exponentially enlarged augmented reality image, which popped up at the lake’s shore above the humans’ heads.&#8221;
And then they consummated the marriage by walking into the water with their hands in the air. Watch:

At this point, I have to come clean. 
I have to admit that I don&#8217;t have much of a grand overarching point to make about the wonders of feminist blue post humanities and hydrosexuality. These people are so far gone that you legitimately can&#8217;t tell if they&#8217;re mocking the very concept of humanities.
Let me simply state: We have clearly reached the logical end point of wokeness. Every &#8220;slippery slope&#8221; argument conservatives made for the past 50 years has been vindicated. When feminists are marrying the brine shrimp while a talking sculpture recites land acknowledgements in the background, it&#8217;s abundantly clear that wokeness has jumped the shark. (Although I hesitate to make that statement, because the next video might actually involve these people trying to jump some sharks. And that footage would, in all likelihood, be even more disturbing to watch than this &#8220;Cyber Wedding to the Brine Shrimp.&#8221;)
But all the same, these people (or their survivors) would probably be able to find some peer-reviewed publication to publish the footage anyway. After all, there is no bottom to modern-day academia. There are just queer women getting married to brine shrimp, all the way down. The hoaxers have become indistinguishable from the serious, credentialed feminist eco-sexual professors. And that is why eco-sexuals, peer-reviewed publications, and feminist academics who marry shrimp are canceled.

Over a dozen churches in a small <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tennessee" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tennessee</a> city have joined together to host a Christian-focused celebration after the community’s annual Christmas parade was derailed by leftist activists.
Cookeville’s annual Christmas parade became embroiled in controversy earlier this year after activists — including a number of self-identified witches — complained that the original organizers of the parade weren’t “inclusive” enough, prompting city officials to take over the parade and <a href="https://www.herald-citizen.com/news/local/stolen-signs-the-parade-and-a-way-forward-for-the-pcdp/article_43d3493c-af24-5aad-a499-29053d50229e.html?ref=pamphleteer.co#tncms-source=login" target="_blank" rel="noopener">allow</a> politically-themed floats.
As the city took over the parade, Kelly Parkison, a local pastor’s wife and former Miss South Carolina, stepped in and decided to organize the “Happy Birthday Jesus Party.” Parkison told The Daily Wire she organized the event to give local families “something exciting to do that focuses on Jesus” instead of the parade controversy.
At least 18 churches in Cookeville are now involved in planning the birthday party, which will include train rides, a live nativity, food, crafts, and a time of worship. Parkison said that around 200 people have been involved in planning the celebration.
“I’m just really excited about it,” Parkison told The Daily Wire. “We’re just excited for everybody that will come and we hope that they will come and enjoy themselves, have a wonderful time, know how much that they’re loved by the churches in this community, but most of all that they’re loved by Jesus.” 
The celebration will also give locals an opportunity to support Hurricane Helene victims in East Tennessee by purchasing a <a href="https://loft218.square.site/product/Happybdayjesusornament/262?cs=true" target="_blank" rel="noopener">special ornament</a> designed for the event. 
Parkison’s event is slated for Saturday, while the city’s Christmas parade has ostensibly been canceled due to weather. The city’s parade was set to feature activist organizations and significant input from a number of <a href="https://pamphleteer.co/post/forget-pride-floats-cookeville-mayor-endorses-self-proclaimed-witches-to-steer-citys-christmas-parade/">local witches</a>, <a href="https://pamphleteer.co/post/cookeville-mayor-caves-to-activist-pressure/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to reporting from conservative Nashville outlet The Pamphleteer. 
The battle over the city parade shows how even in the most conservative of areas — Putnam County, where Cookeville is located, went 73% for Trump in November — activists can leverage the media to pressure local officials. 
The controversy began last year, after Cookeville’s Chamber of Commerce stepped away from organizing the parade after it caused an <a href="https://www.newschannel5.com/news/pride-organization-not-allowed-to-participate-in-cookeville-christmas-parade" target="_blank" rel="noopener">uproar</a> by denying entry to a sexuality-themed float called “Don we now our gay apparel,” from a local LGBT group over concerns that it would not be family-friendly. 
Scott Parkison, Kelly’s husband and the pastor of Stevens Street Baptist Church, told The Daily Wire that members of the Chamber of Commerce received death threats and were sent pictures of their children after the float application was denied. 
As the Chamber, local leaders from the Life Church and The River Community Church decided to step in and privately organize the parade. The theme they decided on for the parade was “Celebrating the Light of CHRISTmas,” and they asked for participants to not promote anything that would be contrary to their Christian faith. 
This blew up in October after accusations were made and <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/news/community-creates-inclusive-parade-cookeville-002504376.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">publicized</a> by local media outlets that organizers of the city’s Christmas parade were making participants sign a statement of faith to participate. In actuality, the parade was being privately organized by local church leaders who asked participants to not violate their Christian beliefs if they wanted to participate in the parade. 
In response, a group of activists began to organize a counter parade under the umbrella of a new group called “Cookeville Inclusive.” One of those working to <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-montana-create-an-inclusive-holiday-parade" target="_blank" rel="noopener">organize</a> this counter parade was the owner of a Cookeville-based occult shop called “The Tiny Cloak” where you can purchase things like an “altar bell” and “altar clothes.” 
Shortly after Cookeville Inclusive began organizing a rival parade, city officials stepped in to, in their words, “save” Christmas. The city council voted 5-0 in late October to take charge of the Christmas parade and appointed Cookeville Inclusive President Sam Raper to the parade planning board. 
“We&#8217;re going to see what we can do and hopefully save Christmas,” <a href="https://www.herald-citizen.com/news/local/cookeville-council-votes-to-save-christmas-parade/article_c8b0958f-fd12-5150-b588-da3c473b39a4.html?ref=pamphleteer.co" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> Mayor Laurin Wheaton. 
Montana Chambers of the Tiny Cloak occult shop celebrated the city’s move in a Facebook <a href="https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1330459134603794" target="_blank" rel="noopener">video</a> addressed to “my witchy friends, pagans and practitioners.” 
“The city is now putting on the Christmas parade and has taken it away from the churches. Kind of a big deal. I just want to thank everyone for their support,” she said. 
She added that Raper had been asked by the city to join the Christmas parade committee and was put “in charge of approving of applications and coordinating volunteers so this is a big win for us.”

The Pamphleteer <a href="https://pamphleteer.co/post/forget-pride-floats-cookeville-mayor-endorses-self-proclaimed-witches-to-steer-citys-christmas-parade/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that Cookeville Inclusive, Upper Cumberland Pride, Queer Closet, and the Tiny Cloak were all slated to have floats. 
Chambers told The Daily Wire that the Tiny Cloak’s Christmas parade float would have been “The Legend of the Christmas Witch.” 
“Any concerns about &#8216;pushing occult practices&#8217; are utterly baseless Christian fear mongering,” she said. &#8220;We live in a free society and we have the right to freedom of religion and freedom of expression, as much as our Christian neighbors do, and have equal rights to participate in society, whether in a public park or a parade.”
“Before I left the church, I learned in Bible school that Christians were called to &#8216;love thy neighbor as thine self&#8217; and yet all of this backlash and controversy seems to be the exact opposite of Christ&#8217;s message,” she added. “I wish my Christian neighbors would be more kind, welcoming, and accepting of their neighbors who just believe a little differently than them.” 
Scott Parkison told The Daily Wire that it was “very frustrating” that Mayor Wheaton allowed the parade to be controlled by activist organizations. 
“Our town is full of constitutional conservatives that embrace family values and that want to conserve that in our city,” he said. “Our town does not want DEI initiatives to be pushed upon its citizens. We don’t want it in our schools. We don’t want it in our city.” 
In the end, all of the controversy turned out to be moot after the city canceled the parade two nights in a row due to rain. But many <a href="https://www.facebook.com/WheatonforCouncil/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">commenters</a> on the city’s Facebook post about the cancellation were skeptical of the reasons for the decision. 
Kelly Parkison said that her “Happy Birthday Jesus” event was never meant as a direct competitor to the city’s parade, but as a positive alternative. 
“My heart was never to try to compete with the parade or anything like that,” she said. “I just feel like the Lord called me to do it and my hope is really that we can just bring hope and peace and joy and unity into our community.”
She said all the negativity surrounding the parade inspired her to take a different direction. The celebration on Saturday will conclude with everyone singing “Silent Night” and “Happy Birthday” before all going home with cake kits designed to tell the story of Christmas. 
Other conservative Tennessee cities have not been immune from the cultural battles in recent years. Southern California parents blasted their kids’ school after a math teacher at Rancho Buena Vista high school gave his students an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lgbtq" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LGBTQ</a> assignment in which they were to pick either being gay or lesbian and “coming out.”
During a <a href="https://x.com/libsoftiktok/status/1869259297370308749">school meeting</a> on Tuesday, parents spoke out at a Vista Unified School District meeting over what was labeled as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/diversity-equity-and-inclusion-dei" target="_blank" rel="noopener">DEI</a>) assignment given to freshman in an elective seminar class that was supposedly to deal with teaching kids how to be socially current, <a href="https://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/vista-parents-speak-out-against-controversial-lesson/3703469/">NBC7 San Diego</a> reported.
According to photos of the instruction, students were told, “Stand in a circle. Each of you is now gay or lesbian, and you are about to begin your coming out process. You cannot talk for the rest of this activity.&#8221;
“I don’t see how this is part of the California curriculum for education,&#8221; parent James Leon told board members. &#8220;There is nothing that it does other than groom children.”

“It’s not okay. It’s disgusting and it should not be allowed,” he added. “I don’t think this assignment should ever be taught to any children. It’s does not do anything other than groom them. It should not be allowed. Anybody who teaches this should be fired immediately.”
Leon said when his daughter got the assignment, she told him “right away when she got home. She said, &#8216;Dad, you have to hear this.&#8217; She wanted to show me what was going on because she knows I am not for teaching any of that stuff in school.&#8221;

Leon’s daughter was one of six kids who walked out of the classroom after being given the instruction. He was joined by others who spoke out about it at the meeting, including a bus driver with the school district.
&#8220;I am totally disgusted,&#8221; a district bus driver said. &#8220;I am ashamed I work for the district, and you guys allow this to happen in our schools.&#8221;
One teacher spoke out in support of the assignment and against the criticism the school has faced after the instructions were shared on social media.
&#8220;People with no connection to our community or even our state have started to flood RBV social media accounts with additional unfounded accusations and slanderous statements,” the teacher said.

An Ohio school district will pay nearly half a million dollars to a teacher who was forced to resign after she said she could not use trans-identifying students&#8217; new names and pronouns due to her Christian faith, The Daily Wire has learned.
English teacher Vivian Geraghty, 26, won a $450,000 settlement from the Jackson Local School District, her legal team <a href="https://adfmedia.org/case/geraghty-v-jackson-local-school-district-board-education" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> Wednesday. She will not be returning to work for the district.
Two years ago, Geraghty was unceremoniously fired by Jackson Memorial Middle School when two students asked Geraghty to use new names that aligned “with their new gender identities rather than their legal names.&#8221; One of the students also requested that teachers use a preferred pronoun that did not reflect the student&#8217;s biological sex, her lawsuit said.
Geraghty went to the principal in hopes of reaching a solution, but the principal and his superior, the director of curriculum, instruction, and assessment, told her “she would be required to put her beliefs aside as a public servant,” according to the lawsuit. She was allegedly accused of insubordination and told that continuing to teach without participating in the students’ gender transitions would “not work in a district like Jackson.”
She was informed that if she would not participate, she must resign immediately, her lawsuit said.
Geraghty said she attempted to tell the principal that forcing her to resign was a violation of her right to free speech, but the principal repeated that as a public servant, she must “set [her] religious convictions aside” or resign. The principal’s superior then handed her a laptop and told her to draft her letter of resignation immediately, the lawsuit said.
&#8220;Geraghty’s sincerely held religious beliefs and scientific understanding govern her view that a person is male or female based on sex, not personal identity, and participating in a student’s social transition violates those beliefs by forcing her to communicate messages she believes are untrue and harmful to the student,&#8221; her legal team at Alliance Defending Freedom said in a press release.
Geraghty and her legal team celebrated her settlement victory on Wednesday.
“No school official can force a teacher to set her religious beliefs aside in order to keep her job,” Alliance Defending Freedom Legal Counsel Logan Spena said in a statement.
“The school tried to force Vivian to accept and repeat the school’s viewpoint on issues that go to the foundation of morality and human identity, like what makes us male or female, by ordering her to personally participate in the social transition of her students,&#8221; Spena said.
&#8220;The First Amendment prohibits that abuse of power, and Jackson Local School District officials have learned that comes at a steep cost. Vivian resisted this unconstitutional demand and explained that her Christian faith made her unable to participate in her students’ social transition, and she has received just vindication for taking this stand.”
The $450,000 settlement covers damages and attorneys&#8217; fees.
Geraghty is not the only teacher to be fired over pronoun use. In September, high school French teacher Peter Vlaming <a href="https://adfmedia.org/case/vlaming-v-west-point-school-board" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> a $575,000 settlement from the West Point School Board in Virginia. Vlaming had been fired for avoiding using pronouns to refer to one trans-identifying student. The school district also changed its policies.

The University of Minnesota offered to pay children as young as five to play with transgender dolls with mix-and-match genitals.
Kids ages five to 10 were offered between $20 and $60 to play with &#8220;MyGender <a href="https://x.com/JohnsonHildy/status/1869378196678029690" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dolls</a>,&#8221; an Instagram post advertising the activity <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C34HtPKMJVZ/?igsh=MTJ1NHlhcWtjenlnMg%3D%3D" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.instagram.com/p/C34HtPKMJVZ/?igsh%3DMTJ1NHlhcWtjenlnMg%253D%253D&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1734544456378000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1lCSPKCjN0ZSGaHY3SyDCc">shows</a>.
&#8220;We are looking to hear from transgender and gender diverse children between the ages of 5 and 10 years old and their parents about a new hands-on activity to help talk about gender and bodies!&#8221; reads the February 27 post.
The activity was <a href="https://crowdfund.umn.edu/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.personalCampaign&amp;participantID=1098" target="_blank" rel="noopener">organized</a> by the National Center for Gender Spectrum Health, which is part of the Human Sexuality program at the University of Minnesota&#8217;s medical school. The Center has also <a href="https://med.umn.edu/sexualhealth/ncgsh/projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">produced</a> a handbook to &#8220;support sexual pleasure education&#8221; for trans-identifying men after transgender genital surgery.
It is unclear if any parents volunteered their children for the study. The University of Minnesota did not respond to a request for comment.
The &#8220;MyGender Dolls&#8221; are similar to classic paper dolls, but they <a href="https://med.umn.edu/sexualhealth/ncgsh/projects/mygender-dolls" target="_blank" rel="noopener">have</a> movable internal sex organs, external genitals, hairstyles, clothing, and other accessories that children can “layer on,” supposedly to build a representation of their true gender. The dolls were created by &#8220;transgender and gender diverse artists&#8221; and are intended for use by &#8220;a gender competent therapist who sees young children and adolescents for gender exploration,&#8221; the Center said.
The &#8220;affirming&#8221; clinical approach for children who declare they are a different gender has received fierce pushback from both parents and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/over-100-health-care-professionals-groups-sign-declaration-calling-for-halt-to-child-transgender-medical-services" target="_blank" rel="noopener">doctors</a> over the last few years, especially when it comes to medicalization. A growing number of detransitioners — men and women who were put on puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones as children — have <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/these-five-women-are-suing-over-their-transgender-medical-treatments" target="_blank" rel="noopener">spoken</a> out about their regret.

The dolls have already garnered national attention. They were <a href="https://med.umn.edu/sexualhealth/ncgsh/projects/mygender-dolls" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://med.umn.edu/sexualhealth/ncgsh/projects/mygender-dolls&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1734544456378000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0XnlkdSSmSsEYQMOVa9AHs">presented</a> at the 2019 symposium of the U.S. division of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), whose controversial standards of care for trans-identifying people have <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/wpath-explains-why-they-removed-minimum-age-guidelines-for-children-to-access-transgender-medical-treatments-so-doctors-wont-get-sued" target="_blank" rel="noopener">come</a> under fire in recent years.
Elsewhere on its website, the National Center for Gender Spectrum Health <a href="https://med.umn.edu/sexualhealth/ncgsh/projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">touts</a> that it has faculty serving on the WPATH Standards of Care document revision committee.
One of the Center&#8217;s co-directors is Dr. Dianne Berg, who serves on WPATH&#8217;s child and adolescent committee and is interested in both &#8220;gender creative children&#8221; and &#8220;compulsive sexual behavior,&#8221; according to <a href="https://med.umn.edu/bio/dianne-berg" target="_blank" rel="noopener">her</a> biography on the University of Minnesota&#8217;s website.
Her co-director is Dr. Katie Spencer, who <a href="https://med.umn.edu/bio/katherine-spencer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">is</a> &#8220;passionate about social justice and feminist approaches&#8221; to clinical practice, her biography says.
The Center <a href="https://crowdfund.umn.edu/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.personalCampaign&amp;participantID=1098" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://crowdfund.umn.edu/index.cfm?fuseaction%3DdonorDrive.personalCampaign%26participantID%3D1098&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1734544456378000&amp;usg=AOvVaw04j8ebCyWoqmLEg5avqcG_">says</a> part of its mission is to &#8220;eliminate gender-based stigma and discrimination.&#8221; It also <a href="https://med.umn.edu/sexualhealth/national-center-gender-spectrum-health" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://med.umn.edu/sexualhealth/national-center-gender-spectrum-health&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1734544456378000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1BYM3ZdI6-f7E_fvqKg4W_">says</a> it wants to promote scholarship by trans-identifying people, &#8220;challenge cisnormativity in healthcare,&#8221; and &#8220;promote pleasure and positive sexuality for all bodies.&#8221; It also touted recently getting $87,500 more in grant funding.
