Simone Biles apologized to Riley Gaines on Tuesday for their online spat over trans-identifying males in women&#8217;s sports, the Olympic gymnast adding that she believes the current women&#8217;s sports system is &#8220;flawed.&#8221;
The two athletes clashed on Friday when Biles attacked Gaines seemingly out of the blue, calling the former University of Kentucky swimmer a &#8220;sore loser&#8221; and telling her to &#8220;bully someone your own size, which would ironically be a male.&#8221;
&#8220;I wanted to follow up from my last tweets,&#8221; Biles posted Tuesday on X. &#8220;I’ve always believed competitive equity &amp; inclusivity are both essential in sport. The current system doesn’t adequately balance these important principles, which often leads to frustration and heated exchanges, and it didn’t help for me to get personal with Riley, which I apologize for.&#8221;

Biles claimed she did not mean to push policies that &#8220;compromise fairness&#8221; in women’s sports.
&#8220;These are sensitive, complicated issues that I truly don’t have the answers or solutions to, but I believe it starts with empathy and respect. I was not advocating for policies that compromise fairness in women’s sports,&#8221; Biles said. &#8220;My objection is to be singling out children for public scrutiny in ways that feel personal and harmful. Individual athletes — especially kids — should never be the focus of criticism of a flawed system they have no control over.&#8221;
&#8220;I believe sports organizations have a responsibility to come up with rules supporting inclusion while maintaining fair competition. We all want a future for sport that is fair, inclusive, and respectful,&#8221; she said.

Biles had initially responded to a post from Gaines last week criticizing a high school girls&#8217; softball team that won a state championship after the team&#8217;s trans-identifying male pitcher <a href="https://cbsaustin.com/news/nation-world/transgender-pitcher-leads-champlin-park-to-win-sparking-controversy-in-minnesota-sports" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pitched</a> five straight games in which he gave up just one run.
&#8220;Bully someone your own size, which would ironically be a male,&#8221; Biles told Gaines.
The Olympian also posted, &#8220;You’re truly sick, all of this campaigning because you lost a race. Straight up sore loser,&#8221; adding that Gaines should be &#8220;uplifting the trans community.&#8221;
&#8220;But instead… You bully them… One things for sure is no one in sports is safe with you around!!!!!&#8221; Biles said.
Gaines responded, telling Biles her comments were &#8220;disappointing.&#8221;

Gaines&#8217; 2022 tie with trans-identifying male swimmer Lia Thomas, after which Thomas was given the trophy, helped <a href="https://nypost.com/2022/04/04/swimmer-who-tied-lia-thomas-taken-aback-in-trophy-handling/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ignite</a> the battle to keep men out of women’s sports.
After Biles&#8217; apology on Tuesday, Gaines quickly responded.

Gaines added that competition &#8220;by definition is exclusive.&#8221;
&#8220;To suggest that women and girls must be silent or ignore a boy who is PUBLICLY hurting or humiliating them is wrong,&#8221; Gaines said. &#8220;You can&#8217;t have any empathy and compassion for the girls if you&#8217;re ignoring when young men are harming or abusing them. I am not ashamed to be a voice for the voiceless.&#8221;
Gaines added that she agrees that the blame is on lawmakers and leaders, which she said is why she is suing the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and joined President Donald Trump when he signed an executive order on women&#8217;s sports.
&#8220;I didn&#8217;t see you there or championing this effort with your platform,&#8221; Gaines told Biles, adding that she welcomes Biles to the &#8220;fight to support fair sports and a future for female athletes. Little girls deserve the same shot to achieve that you had.&#8221;

Gender ideology’s war on America’s children has turned its guns on a particularly vulnerable group: children in foster care. Despite a court ruling <a href="https://www.texastribune.org/2024/09/25/paxton-biden-lgbtq-foster-youth/">blocking</a> a Biden-era rule that imposed gender ideology as a condition of serving children who identify as LGBTQ, several states now <a href="https://lambdalegal.org/child-welfare-map/">demand</a> that prospective foster parents affirm the &#8220;gender identity&#8221; of hypothetical children they might foster one day. Vermont has taken this egregious stance even further, telling one Christian family that they presented too much of a risk, that they would raise children sharing their beliefs.
Decenda and Frank Cram were “blindsided” when Vermont state officials denied their application to become foster parents because of their “belief system.” State officials added that “if children in their home are raised with the same beliefs it could perpetuate further discrimination of the LGBTQ community.”
Two other Christian families – the Wuotis and the Gannts – also failed Vermont’s ideological litmus test and so were denied the chance to foster. Represented by <a href="https://adflegal.org/">Alliance Defending Freedom</a>, they are <a href="https://adflegal.org/article/vermont-imposes-gender-ideology-litmus-test-foster-parents/">pushing back</a>. Their case is currently under review by a three-judge panel of the Second Circuit court of appeals. The Crams shared their experience as friends of the court in support of the families.
Decenda Cram, like many foster parents, was a foster child herself, entering care when she was only six years old. Her first foster parents were devout Christians and eventually adopted her. “I think ever since then,” she says, “I just thought someday I wanted to give back &#8230; I definitely wanted to return the favor in some way.”
Frank credits Christian neighbors for helping him turn around his own life. “If it wasn&#8217;t for a Christian family back when I was out in Arizona, I probably would&#8217;ve been getting in more and more trouble,” he explains.
The Crams, both devout Christians, hoped, in Frank’s words, to offer needy children “a home, unconditional love, understanding – the whole nine yards.” In October 2020 the couple applied to be foster parents. Decenda recalls that “we made it clear that we were Christians, and we asked if that was going to pose a problem with foster parenting. And we were reassured by a higher up in the state’s Department of Children and Family Services (DCF): ‘We don&#8217;t discriminate against anyone for any reason.’”

Although they had not completed the licensing process, Decenda and Frank were called to take in a pair of sibling girls, ages nine and fourteen, in December 2020. The girls stayed with the Crams for a month and a half before one of the girls’ relatives assumed custody. We “worked out very well as a team in taking care of them,” says Frank. Decenda agrees, adding that “Frank and I worked beautifully as a parenting team.” Their initial DCF worker and the relative that the girls moved in with when they left us “all commended us for doing such a good job with the girls.”

Given their success caring for the two sisters, the Crams thought they would be licensed as foster parents. They were surprised when the licensing process turned hostile.
Decenda recalls a different official telling her during a phone interview that “Vermont has recently taken a stance.” This “stance” is that no foster families can be considered unless they are willing to fully embrace the LGBTQ community. Despite the clear desire and ability to provide a safe, loving home for children in need, the Crams were denied a license to foster.
According to the denial letter sent to the Crams in June 2021, the Cram’s “fundamental belief&#8221; about &#8220;God&#8217;s plan for all of us,” would “not meet the emotional or developmental needs of children.”
“It felt like I&#8217;d lost a child,” laments Decenda. Frank says that “It really broke my heart. It&#8217;s like, here we are. We&#8217;re willing to give our home and our time and effort to help these children.”
Vermont’s behavior is inexcusable: its exclusion of prospective foster and adoptive parents based on their sincerely held religious beliefs is blatant religious discrimination and adds to the injury already suffered by children in need.
The Crams are hopeful that the Second Circuit will order Vermont to stop its discriminatory policy so they can open up their home to children in need. As Frank says, “all things can work out by God&#8217;s grace.”

An LGBT “Rooted in Pride” art exhibit surrounding a children’s playground in Brooklyn, New York, features nude images and what appears to be a man dressed in drag, and promotes gender confusion and anti-Trump messages.
The LGBT content surrounds the JJ Byrne Playground, where families and children as young as toddlers play, according to images provided to The Daily Wire, and other images accessible via Google Maps. The art pieces will be displayed all summer long, until August 1.

“This piece is about mental illness and disability,” the description reads. “Gender (genital) reveals are transphobic, homophobic and racist (from past colonialism history of the sex binary). These reveal &#8216;parties&#8217; aren’t celebrations, but the start of toxic expectations. These reveals start wildfires, kill people and have hurt people both physically and mentally. Babies and parents face trauma when labeling their child.”

In the same vein, one display of artwork blames President Donald Trump for seeking to destroy LGBT “communities.”
“Done on Inauguration Day 2025, this piece is a reminder that regardless of the identities or beliefs of the communities the president seeks to destroy, we are still his constituency,” it reads. “His refusal to support or care for all who live in this country is a failure of his job to serve. A linguistic root of ‘constituent’ translates to: ‘to cause to stand.’ He cannot stand without me. Without us.”

The group displaying the LGBT artwork is called Arts Gowanus, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. On June 1, the group proudly posted about the exhibit “surrounding JJ Byrne Playground.”
&#8220;&#8216;Rooted in Pride’ is installed!!” the caption <a href="https://www.facebook.com/gowanusopenstudios/posts/pfbid02dVX69akCxkTHUKCyJsVpnxHboS66vHF18BfshNk7ZgytfooMDq48AfobZc4hh3FNl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reads</a>. “So many wonderful artists from our LGBTQIA community are exhibiting work in this outdoor exhibition!”
Arts Gowanus also spotlighted the jurors, or the judges who chose the artwork for the exhibit. One juror is named Gayah Imani Gillson, who is described as “a BIPOC, QTPOC, TwoSpirit Brooklyn-based/ International Artist, Healer, Visionary Activist, and Spiritual Worker.”
The Daily Wire reached out to Art Gowanus about the nature of the public content, but have not received a response.

A Washington, D.C., park at the center of this weekend&#8217;s Pride festivities will be closed to prevent the vandalism that occurred in years past.
Dupont Circle Park closed at 6 p.m. on Thursday and will remain closed through about 6 p.m. on Sunday, the National Park Service <a href="https://www.nps.gov/nama/learn/management/dupontcirclerod.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a>.
Early Friday morning, temporary fencing was erected around the park.
The decision comes as after days of back-and-forth between federal and local authorities over the issue, as well as backlash from WorldPride 2025 attendees, who hoped the park would remain open.
Washington, D.C., is hosting WorldPride 2025, which will have a plethora of events from Friday to Sunday. The events <a href="https://worldpridedc.org/events/welcome-center/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">include</a> at least four drag queen story hours including &#8220;Indigenous Drag Story Hour,&#8221; an event about &#8220;Deaf Queer Dating,&#8221; and a talk by a trans-identifying woman titled, &#8220;Propaganda &amp; Transphobia: How Trans People Became the Political Pawn.&#8221;
Dupont Circle Park was closed at the request of the United States Park Police, which said it was necessary to “secure the park, deter potential violence, reduce the risk of destructive acts and decrease the need for extensive law enforcement presences.”
Washington, D.C., Police Chief Pamela Smith originally requested to close the park, but she later <a href="https://www.nps.gov/nama/learn/management/upload/Recession-of-Request-for-Anti-Scale-Fencing-Dupont-Circle-Park-6-3-25.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">withdrew</a> that request &#8220;after hearing from community leaders and residents.&#8221;

However, she noted that in recent years, the park has been vandalized and has seen other violent illegal activity around the time of Pride festivities.
In 2019, gunshots were heard in the park causing people to flee, and a person was arrested. In 2023, the park was vandalized to the tune of $175,000 in damage to a historic fountain. Last year, &#8220;large groups of juveniles&#8221; in the park engaged in &#8220;illegal activities, including drinking alcohol, smoking marijuana, and engaging in fights&#8221; and also &#8220;ran into a local business and stole items,&#8221; the police chief noted in her letter to the Park Police.
The Park Police pushed for a closure anyway, noting that &#8220;the threat of violence, criminal acts and [park] resource destruction&#8221; has &#8220;only increased&#8221; over the last few weeks.
For example, a local DJ was selling tickets to an &#8220;unpermitted gathering/party&#8221; in Dupont Circle after the World Pride events, the Park Police said.
&#8220;This social media advertisement is stating that this is the same DJ and &#8216;party&#8217; as the previous several years, which have resulted in the unsafe conditions and damages recounted above,&#8221; the Park Police <a href="https://www.nps.gov/nama/learn/management/upload/2025-06-03-USPP-Dupont-Circle-Closure-Memo-Update.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> in a June 4 letter to National Park Service leadership.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus walked back statements he previously made about his department finding “no evidence whatsoever” that actor Jonathan Joss’ death was a hate crime.
Social media and mainstream media lit up following the death of the “King of the Hill” voice actor on Sunday. At first, news reports were saying that the Texas native was shot following a dispute with his neighbor. Soon after, a man claiming to be Joss’ husband said Joss was really the victim of anti-LGBT bigotry.
While San Antonio police originally ruled out a hate crime, now McManus is walking back those statements. “That was way, way, way premature,” he <a href="https://www.facebook.com/SanAntonioPD/videos/1356101808802458/">said</a> during a Thursday press conference. “Shouldn’t have done it. It was way too soon before we had any real information, and I will own that and simply say, again, that we shouldn&#8217;t have done that. It was way too early in the process for any statement of that nature to be issued.”
“We understand that many in the LGBTQ+ community are feeling anxious and concerned,” he continued. “A lot of it has to do with that premature statement that we released, and again, I own that, shouldn&#8217;t have done it. The loss of Jonathan Joss was tragic and most, most heavily felt by the LGBTQ+ community.”
Just two days earlier on June 3, the SAPD said that they “thoroughly reviewed all available information” and said there was no reason to believe Joss’ death “was related to his sexual orientation.”

As some people have pointed out, the post from Joss’ alleged husband following the incident is full of extreme, unsubstantiated accusations, including one about angry neighbors burning down their home several months ago. But <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/lgbt-activists-have-found-their-next-hate-crime-hoax-and-its-the-most-insane-one-yet">news reports</a> from the time state that Joss admitted to using a propane heater, which may have caused the fire.
According to a report from local station WFAA, Joss also had a long history of getting into altercations with his neighbors and was reported to have been causing a disturbance on the night he was killed.
“Neighbors [said that Joss] was at the site Sunday night checking his mail, which he did regularly, when something went terribly wrong. A video shared by a neighbor who was present shows a man, who they identified as Joss, pacing up and down the street with a pitchfork and screaming,” the outlet reported.
It went on, “The neighbors say it was common behavior over the years for Joss to scream while carrying weapons, and even though they say they didn’t like it, several neighbors said they were surprised when a man who lives just 50 yards away responded to the situation with a gun around 6 p.m. Sunday.”
One person claiming to be a neighbor of Joss posted on Facebook saying the voice actor “started gun fights constantly” and “constantly threatened his surrounding neighbors.”
Footage of Joss behaving aggressively at an event for the &#8220;King of the Hill&#8221; revival two days before his death also started circulating online. The voice actor had to be escorted from the premises by security.
Sigfredo Ceja Alvarez, 56, who is described as a former neighbor of Joss, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. His is currently under house arrest on $200,000 bond.

WASHINGTON—The FBI has received dozens of tips over the past three days regarding surgical transgender procedures on children, The Daily Wire has learned. 
The bureau took to social media Monday to ask Americans to report any evidence of medical professionals performing irreversible transgender procedures on minors. As of Thursday morning, the Daily Wire can first report, the FBI said it had received at least 100 tips.
The move comes as President Donald Trump&#8217;s administration scrutinizes the transgender medicine industry, which has long pushed &#8220;gender-affirming care&#8221; as &#8220;medically necessary&#8221; for those experiencing gender dysphoria — even children.
Erica Knight, an advisor to FBI Director Kash Patel and mother of three, told The Daily Wire that the bureau will &#8220;never stop fighting for our most vulnerable — our children.&#8221;
&#8220;As a mother, I’m deeply grateful and proud to know the future of America’s kids is one rooted in safety, strength, and opportunity,&#8221; she said.
Gender affirming care is a euphemism for transgender surgeries, hormones, and puberty blockers. Under President Joe Biden, the White House <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/white-house-early-trans-surgeries-hormones-are-crucial-for-kids-teens-who-identify-as-trans">claimed</a> that &#8220;early” transgender surgeries, hormone treatment, and affirmations were “crucial” for the health of kids and teens who identify as transgender and nonbinary.
&#8220;Help the FBI protect children,&#8221; the bureau posted on X Monday. &#8220;As the Attorney General has made clear, we will protect our children and hold accountable those who mutilate them under the guise of gender-affirming care.&#8221; 
The post encouraged Americans to &#8220;report tips of any hospitals, clinics, or practitioners performing these surgical procedures on children.&#8221;

Trump made protecting children from transgender procedures a major part of his campaign. The issue brought together Americans across the cultural spectrum, united in the interest of protecting young people from decisions they could not reverse.
Commentators, lawmakers, people <a href="https://www.dailysignal.com/2022/01/24/transsexual-slams-planned-parenthood-aclu-womens-sports/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">who identify as transgender</a>, and people who have <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/detransitioners-flood-social-media-with-testimony-photos-the-darkest-time-in-my-life" target="_blank" rel="noopener">attempted transitions</a> have expressed grave concerns about encouraging children or young people to explore transitions of any kind.
Chloe Cole attempted to transition as a teenager and underwent a double mastectomy in an attempt to become a boy. Cole has since <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/detransitioner-chloe-cole-transgender-supreme-court-case-means-everything-to-me">sued</a> the medical professionals who pushed her down this path, arguing that she could not properly consent to the procedures due to her age, her mental distress, and the ideological premises that the medical professionals presented her with.

The FTC will hold a day-long workshop in July on transgender surgeries, hormones, and puberty blockers, according to an internal memo obtained by The Daily Wire. The purpose of the workshop is to build on President Trump’s executive order ending the federal government’s support for so-called “gender-affirming care” for minors.
While transgender advocates claim that performing transgender surgeries, hormones, and puberty blocker procedures on children will cause them to be less suicidal, the FTC memo notes that “a growing chorus of experts now publicly contradict these claims.&#8221; It also points out that the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals recently called transgender procedures “in truth still experimental.”
The president signed an <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/protecting-children-from-chemical-and-surgical-mutilation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">executive order</a> in January protecting children from irreversible gender transition procedures. The order describes the transgender procedures that doctors and activists have pushed upon children in recent years, and states that the United States will not fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or support the attempted gender transition of a child, promising that it will “rigorously enforce all laws that prohibit or limit these destructive and life-altering procedures.”
“Across the country today, medical professionals are maiming and sterilizing a growing number of impressionable children under the radical and false claim that adults can change a child’s sex through a series of irreversible medical interventions,” the order states. “This dangerous trend will be a stain on our Nation’s history, and it must end.”

A leading pro-LGBT group this week published a report on &#8220;anti-LGBTQ incidents&#8221; in the United States. It&#8217;s incredibly shocking — but not in the way you&#8217;d think.
GLAAD (Gay &amp; Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) <a href="https://assets.glaad.org/m/517666e6160db065/original/2025-GLAAD-ALERT-Desk-Report.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> more than 932 hate incidents across the country over the year that ended May 1. The group also claims that &#8220;anti-trans hate hit a record high&#8221; and that &#8220;52% of all incidents were targeting transgender and gender nonconforming people.&#8221;
Here&#8217;s the kicker: the biggest category of incidents GLAAD recorded was &#8220;protests.&#8221; Yeah, you read that right.
It&#8217;s not clear which specific protests GLAAD is referring to.
Perhaps it&#8217;s parents fighting for their children. Just last month, Colorado parents <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/how-parents-blocked-the-radical-child-custody-part-of-colorados-new-transgender-law?author=Mairead+Elordi&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=3&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=How+Parents+Blocked+The+Radical+Child+Custody+Part+Of+Colorado’s+New+Transgender+Law" target="_blank" rel="noopener">showed</a> up at the state capital to rally against a radical bill that declared that parents in custody battles who misgender or “deadname” their child were guilty of “coercive control” and could lose their child.
Or maybe it&#8217;s female athletes <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/most-likely-ended-my-career-disc-golfer-who-protested-trans-competitor-says-she-has-no-regrets" target="_blank" rel="noopener">walking</a> off the field and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-female-fencer-and-trans-supporting-usa-fencing-head-face-off-at-heated-doge-hearing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">refusing</a> to compete against trans-identifying male competitors.
Perhaps it&#8217;s one of the countless other events organized by the countless concerned Americans who have shown up at school board meetings, state legislatures, and <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/picture-gallery/news/politics/2025/04/22/demonstrations-supreme-court-religious-freedom-lgbtq-diversity-photos/83210169007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">even</a> the Supreme Court to speak out against LGBT agendas.
Meanwhile, of course, there&#8217;s a long list of actually violent acts the Left does not consider hate. How about the disturbed trans-identifying woman who shot up The Covenant School in Nashville in 2023, killing six people, including three nine-year-olds? Or the Black Lives Matter protests of 2020 that destroyed over $1 billion of property? Or maybe the firebombing of pro-life pregnancy centers around the time Roe v. Wade was overturned?

Another eye-catching category in GLAAD&#8217;s report was &#8220;propaganda drops,&#8221; with more than 60 incidents, although it is not exactly clear what a &#8220;propaganda drop&#8221; is. Perhaps college students <a href="https://www.christianpost.com/news/university-bans-student-from-handing-out-christian-pamphlets-to-lgbt-studies-class.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">handing</a> out Christian pamphlets to an LGBT studies class?
GLAAD claimed trans-identifying and &#8220;gender nonconforming&#8221; people were the target of over half of all the anti-LGBTQ incidents, but this includes 209 &#8220;protests&#8221; and 33 &#8220;propaganda drops.&#8221;
&#8220;Compared to last year’s data, this represents a 14% increase in incidents targeting transgender and gender nonconforming people,&#8221; GLAAD said.
The other categories included about 280 harassment incidents, 140 vandalism incidents, 85 assaults, 20 bomb threats, and 15 arson attempts.
So bomb threats, arson, and violent assaults are in the same &#8220;hate&#8221; category as legal, peaceful protests exercising First Amendment rights. Got it!
Sarah Moore, who runs GLAAD&#8217;s tracker, <a href="https://www.axios.com/2025/06/02/anti-lgbtq-incidents-glaad-data-transgender" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> the tracker includes &#8220;every expression of hate&#8221; regardless of whether it is a crime because &#8220;LGBTQ people are going to experience these things as acts of hate, regardless of if they&#8217;re prosecuted as that.&#8221;
GLAAD pointed the finger at the Trump administration, saying its executive orders &#8220;specifically demean and discriminate&#8221; against trans-identifying people.
Shortly after taking office, President Donald Trump issued multiple executive orders that banned federal funds for schools that allow males in girls&#8217; sports and bathrooms, as well as for hospitals that perform transgender surgeries on children.
One order also defined sex as male and female — remember when this was common sense? Now it&#8217;s &#8220;hateful.&#8221;
&#8220;Hope shines brightest in the darkest moments,&#8221; said GLAAD&#8217;s president and CEO, Sarah Kate Ellis, in a letter published with the report. &#8220;As we honor the queer and trans leaders of decades past and present, and resolve to overcome the challenges of today, we create a new legacy of joy as resistance.&#8221;
By the way, this is not even the first year GLAAD has counted protests and rallies as &#8220;hate&#8221; incidents.
GLAAD launched its &#8220;ALERT Desk&#8221; database to track anti-LGBTQ extremism back in June 2022. Of the 2,626 incidents GLAAD <a href="https://glaad.org/anti-lgbtq-extremism-reporting-tracker/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">says</a> have occurred in the three years since the database was launched, 872 of them are protests or rallies.
Can&#8217;t wait to see next year&#8217;s report, which will probably include every time someone looked sideways at a drag queen!

Florida high school students were drilled for being straight, asked to consider being gay, and told that straight people are to blame for overpopulation, according to course materials obtained by The Daily Wire.
During a course for high school children in Miami-Dade County, students were assigned to complete a sexuality-focused questionnaire that asked a series of bizarre questions such as: &#8220;What do you think caused your heterosexuality?&#8221;; &#8220;Is it possible that being straight is just a phase you may grow out of?”; and, “Considering the menace of hunger and overpopulation, could the human race survive if everyone were straight like yourself?”
Parents were shocked to learn that a professor made their children answer questions like this as part of a Miami-Dade College course being offered to high schoolers. The<a href="https://www.mdc.edu/asa/documents/competencies/pdf/SLS1510%20Preparing%20for%20Student%20Success.pdf"> course</a>, called &#8220;Preparing for Student Success,&#8221; was designed for students to develop academic goals and come up with strategies to succeed in college and offered in Miami-Dade County, an area that has<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/floridas-miami-dade-county-flips-red-in-voter-registration-for-first-time-in-history"> turned red</a> in recent years. 
“It&#8217;s not normal. I mean imagine if a person, anyone, goes close to your son and asks him these questions, I’d call the police,” a concerned mother whose son was enrolled in the class told The Daily Wire. “It&#8217;s perversion. Why are you talking about their sexuality to 15-year-old boys or girls? It&#8217;s absolutely sick. It’s sick.”
Other questions posed to the children included, &#8220;To whom have you disclosed your straight tendencies?&#8221; and &#8220;Why do you insist on showing off your heterosexuality?&#8221; The questionnaire ended by asking students what their reaction to it was and &#8220;about the assumptions you hold about what others are like.&#8221;
The questions come from the textbook &#8220;POWER: Strategies for Success in College and Life&#8221; by Robert Feldman, a senior research associate at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The textbook was printed by McGraw Hill, one of the largest academic publishers in the United States whose products are used in 13,000 K-12 school districts across the country.
After being contacted by The Daily Wire, Miami-Dade College said that it had reviewed the assignment and determined that it would no longer be used.
&#8220;Miami-Dade College is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and academically sound learning environment for all students,&#8221; the college told The Daily Wire. &#8220;In response to concerns raised about a classroom assignment, we have conducted a thorough review of the assignment, and it will no longer be used. We expect all those who teach to uphold these standards and will ensure any necessary adjustments are made.&#8221;
The other questions on the assignment were as follows: &#8220;when and how did you decide you were straight?&#8221;; &#8220;is it possible that your heterosexuality stems from a neurotic fear of others of the same sex?&#8221;; &#8220;There seem to be many unhappy heterosexuals. Techniques have been developed that might enable you to change your sexual orientation. Have you considered changing?&#8221; and, &#8220;why do straights place so much emphasis on sex?&#8221;
According to the textbook, the questionnaire was adopted from the work of Martin Rochlin, a gay rights activist and founding member of the Gay and Lesbian Center of Los Angeles who developed the &#8220;Heterosexual Questionnaire&#8221; in 1972.

The concerned mother whose son was forced to take the quiz told The Daily Wire that the questionnaire was included in the textbook as means of indoctrination.
She noted that dual enrollment classes are typically recommended for students looking to receive Florida&#8217;s Bright Futures Scholarship, a lottery funded-scholarship for top performing high school academic achievers. She said that teachers should avoid discussing issues of sexuality altogether.
&#8220;You don&#8217;t talk about these things, especially with kids. If you are a math teacher, you teach math,” she said. “These types of courses shouldn&#8217;t exist.”
She also voiced concerns about another questionnaire featured in the textbook on its chapter on diversity. One activity encourages students to determine the diversity of their campus by getting statistics of how many racial minorities attend their school, while another encourages them to &#8220;check your stereotype quotient.&#8221; That includes questions like, &#8220;If you found out that a star professional football player is gay, would you be surprised?&#8221;
The mother told The Daily Wire that she was contacted by the office of the president of Miami-Dade College and assured her that concerns would be addressed. They said the school told them that the quiz would no longer be administered and indicated that they would focus their teaching on what was academically appropriate.

A liberal enclave on the western edge of the deep-red state of Montana is pushing LGBT &#8220;Pride&#8221; to new heights.
The Missoula, Montana, City Council voted 9-2 on Monday night to make the &#8220;Pride&#8221; flag the city&#8217;s official flag. The move flies in the face of a recent bill signed into law in Montana that bans &#8220;Pride&#8221; flags from being flown on government property and schools.
&#8220;Currently, there is only one official flag for the City of Missoula, and that&#8217;s the Pride flag adopted last night. There was no prior official flag,&#8221; Missoula City Attorney Ryan Sudbury <a href="https://nbcmontana.com/news/local/missoula-approves-pride-flag-as-official-city-flag-in-opposition-of-new-law">told</a> NBC Montana.
Missoula&#8217;s &#8220;Pride&#8221; flag designation is already reflected on the Wikipedia page about the city.

Montana Republican Gov. Greg Gianforte blasted the city council&#8217;s move in a statement shared with The Daily Wire.
&#8220;Last night, nine members of the Missoula City Council made clear their top priority is flying a divisive pride flag over government buildings and schools &#8212; all while ignoring the city&#8217;s housing affordability crisis, raising taxes by 17% because of over spending, and refusing to take firm action to end encampments in the city,&#8221; Gianforte said. &#8220;Missoulians deserve better, and fortunately, two council members voted against imposing this divisive, far-left agenda on their community.&#8221;
The sponsor of the resolution, Jennifer Savage — who identifies as queer — pointed to her daughter as a reason she pursued designating the &#8220;Pride&#8221; flag the city&#8217;s official flag.

“When I see the Pride flag, I breathe a little sigh of relief and think my kid is safe here,” Savage said.
Last month, Montana Republican Gov. Greg Gianforte signed HB 819 into law, prohibiting the display of flags on state property that represent a &#8220;political viewpoint, including but not limited to flags or banners regarding a political party, race, sexual orientation, gender, or political ideology.&#8221; Missoula, however, appears to have found a loophole in the law that allows cities to fly an official municipal flag, according to <a href="https://www.kpax.com/news/missoula-county/missoula-city-council-adopts-pride-flag-as-official-city-flag">KPAX</a>. With the city council&#8217;s vote on Monday night, the &#8220;Pride&#8221; flag now meets that designation.
“Leave it to Missoula to try and turn a city flag into a pride flag. Nothing says ‘unity’ like politicizing public property,&#8221; <a href="https://nbcmontana.com/news/local/missoula-approves-pride-flag-as-official-city-flag-in-opposition-of-new-law">said</a> Republican state Rep. Braxton Mitchell. &#8220;The ultra far left Missoula City Council and their mayor are completely out of touch with reality and the values of the vast majority of Montanans. Taxpayer owned property should represent everyone, not just the loudest political movements of the moment.&#8221;
Missoula County <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/11/05/us/elections/results-montana.html">voted</a> overwhelmingly for Kamala Harris over Donald Trump in 2024, 59% to 38%, while former Democratic Sen. John Tester received 66% of the vote in Missoula to just 32% for Republican Tim Sheehy. Trump and Sheehy went on to win the state.
Missoula is also represented at the state level by Zooey Zephyr, a man who identifies as a woman. In 2023, Zephyr was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/montana-house-votes-to-punish-transgender-member-who-said-colleagues-have-blood-on-your-hands">censured</a> by the Republican-controlled Montana House of Representatives for an outburst over a ban on gender procedures on minors.
“The only thing I will say is if you vote yes on this bill and yes on these amendments, I hope the next time there’s an invocation when you bow your heads in prayer, you see the blood on your hands,” Zephyr said.

The Trump White House is doing a complete 180 from the Biden administration&#8217;s focus on LGBT issues. While Trump celebrated &#8220;Pride Month&#8221; with a tweet in 2019, he <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc-out/president-trump-misses-pride-month-third-time-n1222441">never issued</a> a presidential proclamation for the LGBT festivities.
President Joe Biden, meanwhile, took the &#8220;Pride Month&#8221; celebration to a new level, releasing <a href="https://bidenwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/2024/05/31/a-proclamation-on-lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender-queer-and-intersex-pride-month-2024/">proclamations</a> each year he was in office and hosting LGBT activists and social media personalities at the White House.
During a &#8220;Pride Month&#8221; party on the White House lawn in 2023, a transgender activist named Rose Montoya, a man who identifies as a woman, met with Biden at the party before <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-faces-backlash-after-trans-activist-goes-topless-at-white-house-pride-event-a-disgrace-to-our-country">appearing topless</a> on video with his hands covering his breast implants. The Biden administration later <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trans-activist-who-went-topless-at-wh-event-apologizes-calls-people-who-spoke-out-vile">called</a> the act &#8220;inappropriate and disrespectful,&#8221; and Montoya apologized.

Throughout his presidency, Biden pushed radical policies on LGBT issues, especially regarding children. In 2022, Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-directs-hhs-to-expand-access-to-transgender-care-including-for-children">signed</a> an executive order to expand adults&#8217; and children&#8217;s access to radical gender procedures while condemning Republican-led states for clamping down on those same procedures on minors. In 2024, just a few months before the election, and as public opinion on the issue shifted, the Biden administration came out in <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/28/health/transgender-surgery-biden.html">opposition</a> to gender surgeries on children.
In his first four months in office, Trump has taken a sledgehammer to the most radical parts of the LGBT movement, <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/protecting-children-from-chemical-and-surgical-mutilation/">pushing</a> to protect children from life-altering gender procedures and prevent men from competing in women&#8217;s sports.
&#8220;The erasure of sex in language and policy has a corrosive impact not just on women but on the validity of the entire American system. Basing Federal policy on truth is critical to scientific inquiry, public safety, morale, and trust in government itself,&#8221; the White House wrote in Trump&#8217;s order, titled &#8220;Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.&#8221;

WASHINGTON—Republican Illinois Congresswoman Mary Miller will introduce a resolution on Tuesday declaring June as &#8220;Family Month,&#8221; a bid to reclaim the first month of summer from LGBTQ ideology, The Daily Wire can first report.
The resolution is supported by a number of parental rights advocacy groups, including Moms for America, the American Family Project, the Family Research Council, the Eagle Forum, and others. It&#8217;s co-sponsored by Republican Reps. Michael Cloud, Harriet Hageman, Barry Moore, Diana Harshbarger, Randy Weber, Troy Nehls, Mark Harris, and Michael Rulli.
&#8220;The American family is under relentless attack from a radical leftist agenda that seeks to erase truth, redefine marriage, and confuse our children,&#8221; Miller told The Daily Wire. &#8220;By recognizing June as Family Month, we reject the lie of &#8216;Pride&#8217; and instead honor God&#8217;s timeless and perfect design. If we truly want to restore our nation, we must stand united to protect and uphold the foundation upon which it was built — the family.&#8221;
The resolution comes amid heavy pushback against gender ideology from President Donald Trump&#8217;s administration. The president has enacted multiple executive orders banning transgender procedures for children, men in women&#8217;s sports and spaces, and inappropriate sexual or gender content in schools.
The Daily Wire first reported on Monday that the Education Department has declared June “Title IX Month” in recognition of the 53rd anniversary of the historic legislation’s passage, opting out of celebrating &#8220;Pride Month&#8221; as President Joe Biden&#8217;s administration had done.
Miller&#8217;s resolution is a strongly-worded repudiation of the ideological gender principles pushed by activists over the last decade. It describes the traditional nuclear family as &#8220;the foundation of a healthy society&#8221; and states that mothers and fathers &#8220;play a crucial and irreplaceable role in the upbringing of their children.&#8221;
It also states that the &#8220;best environment for children to thrive is a home with a married mother and father,&#8221; and it points to the high divorce rate in the United States and the rise in young people delaying or forgoing marriage and family, pointing out that &#8220;many tax and welfare policies encourage cohabitation and penalize couples for getting married.&#8221;

&#8220;The birth rate in the United States has fallen below the replacement level needed to replenish the population and sustain the economy,&#8221; the resolution notes.
&#8220;The month of June was first declared as Pride Month by President Bill Clinton in 1999 and has been done so by Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden, rejecting the importance of marriage and family,&#8221; the resolution reads, noting that since then, &#8220;Americans are inundated with perverse Pride Month displays and events throughout the month of June that denigrate the nuclear family.&#8221;
At the same time, the resolution argues, Americans who&#8221;hold to a traditional view of marriage and family are often disparaged,&#8221; and &#8220;the decline of marriage and family has corresponded to a rise in crime, drug abuse, and other social ills.&#8221;
The resolution quotes John Adams, who wrote to the Massachusetts Militia in October 1798 that ‘‘Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.&#8221;
American civilization depends on the &#8220;continuation of traditional marriage and family,&#8221; the resolution states. It calls for the House of Representatives to recognize the importance of the traditional nuclear family, the benefits of marriage to men, women, children, and society, and to no longer recognize June as Pride Month.
