“Saturday Night Live” alum <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Will Ferrell</a> said he would no longer accept a part that included him dressing like a woman for laughs.
The 57-year-old actor discussed playing Clinton-era Attorney General Janet Reno decades ago during a recent interview with his friend, “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/saturday-night-live">SNL</a>” head writer Harper Steele, for an episode of “The Interview” podcast, per <a href="https://variety.com/2024/tv/news/will-ferrell-regrets-snl-drag-sketches-janet-reno-1236139470/">Variety</a>.
Ferrell specifically said he regretted participating in the “Janet Reno’s Fantasies” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">sketch</a> from Season 23 of SNL in 1997.
When the interviewer mentioned that the sketch “hits a false note now,” Ferrell replied by saying, “That’s something I wouldn’t choose to do now.”
“This kind of bums me out,” Steele, who identifies as transgender, said. “I understand the laugh is a drag laugh. It’s, ‘Hey, look at this guy in a dress, and that’s funny.’ It’s absolutely not funny. It’s absolutely a way that we should be able to live in the world. However, with performers and actors, I do like a sense of play.”
“This is an interesting question to me,” Steele added. “Do queer people like ‘The Birdcage,’ or do they not? Robin Williams, at least as far as we know, was not a gay man, and yet he spent about half of his comedy career doing a swishy gay guy on camera. Do people think that’s funny, or is it just hurtful? I’ve heard from gay men that it was funny, and I’ve heard from gay men that it was hurtful. I am purple-haired woke, but I wonder if sometimes we take away the joy of playing when we take away some of the range that performers, especially comedy performers, can do.”

The outlet noted that Ferrell recalled “a fair amount” of sketches from “SNL” which would make him “lament the choice.” 
The “Anchorman” star also jokingly said, “I mean, in a way, the cast — you’re kind of given this assignment. So I’m going to blame the writers.”
Steele agreed, “Yeah, he’s not culpable at all,” then continued, “I wrote Monica Lewinsky stuff I wasn’t proud of. I wrote some good Britney Spears stuff and some stuff that I’m not as proud of. I wrote some Clinton things I wasn’t proud of. I’m just moving on. I have to.”
Ferrell is promoting his project “Will &amp; Harper,” a Netflix documentary he did with Harper featuring the two of them going on a cross-country road trip.

Drag queens from “RuPaul’s Drag Race” will host a huge drag show to boost voter registration for in Chicago during the Democratic National Convention, where Vice President Kamala Harris is trying to consolidate the party around her candidacy.
Drag PAC — created by “Drag Race” alumni — announced that on Wednesday August 21 it will host what’s being called “<a href="https://x.com/libsoftiktok/status/1825652012202996219/video/1">DNC Drag Night Chicago: A Voter Registration Kiki</a>,” <a href="https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2024/06/drag-race-alumni-make-history-by-forming-first-ever-pac-led-by-famous-queens/">LGBTQ Nation</a> reported. The group is hosting the multiple drag shows on Wednesday in hopes of increasing voter registration 
In a <a href="https://x.com/libsoftiktok/status/1825652012202996219">video</a> posted by Libs of TikTok on X, we see a host of drag queens saying “hey Chicago” as they promote the various drag shows that they claim will be “the biggest night of drag.”

The PAC’s founding members — which include performers like Jinkx Monsoon, BenDeLaCreme, and Monét X Change — said the PAC was formed due to what it labeled  “anti-LGBTQ+ bills,” the outlet noted. The so-called &#8220;anti-LGBTQ&#8221; legislation in multiple states targets drag performances that outlaws adult cabaret male or female impersonators from performing “nudity, sexual excitement, sexual conduct, excess violence or sadomasochistic abuse” on public property.

Along with the Drag Queen shows, the four-day long convention may at times look more like a typical Hollywood awards show than a political event when this week in the Windy City, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hollywood-celebrities-to-headline-every-night-of-dnc">reported</a>.
Convention organizers have confirmed to <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/18/entertainment/kerry-washington-mindy-kaling-dnc-hosts/index.html">CNN</a> that a different celebrity will kick off each of the four nights at the DNC, where the featured star will give remarks and reappear on stage throughout the evening, starting on Monday night with “Scandal” star Tony Goldwyn.
Tuesday night, CNN contributor and host of “The View” Ana Navarro will emcee the evening. Wednesday night TV star Mindy Kaling will host followed by actress Kerry Washington on Thursday, who will emcee the evening on the same night that Vice President Kamala Harris will officially accept the Democratic party’s nomination.
And they will not be the only ones, as dozens of Hollywood stars flock to Chicago for events and concerts planned around the DNC, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dozens-of-hollywood-stars-flocking-to-chicago-for-dnc">reported</a>.
John Legend, an outspoken supporter of the Democratic Party and past contenders for the White House, will hold a concert for Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, the <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/politics-news/democratic-national-convention-chicago-celebrities-hollywood-stars-1235974542/">Hollywood Reporter</a> noted. 
Late-night host Stephen Colbert is taking his show on the road for the first time with guest appearances that include Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, and Chance the Rapper, among others <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/hillary-clinton-nancy-pelosi-stephen-colbert-late-show-live-dnc-2024-1235977097/">THR</a> noted.
There is even supposed to be a Hollywood premiere-style look at the DNC with a “blue” carpet for the arrival of the bigger-named attendees, <a href="https://deadline.com/2024/08/democratic-national-convention-red-carpet-snapchat-matt-friend-1236040464/">Deadline</a> reported.

When speaking with the drag queens in Los Angeles on the day she officially kicked off her presidential campaign, Harris&#8217; tone was crisp and clear — but by the time she took the stage at her Atlanta rally on Tuesday, the de facto Democratic nominee had adopted a slow drawl.

“Full House” star Jodie Sweetin defended the drag queen Last Supper parody at the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/paris-olympics" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Paris Olympics</a> after her fellow costar <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/candace-cameron-bure">Candace Cameron Bure</a> slammed it as “disgusting.”
During the opening ceremony at the 2024 Summer Olympics, a scene modeled after The Last Supper opened with an obese woman wearing an aureole as Jesus surrounded by drag queens as the Apostles, a decapitated head representing Marie Antoinette of the French Revolution, and drag queens dancing around children.
&#8220;Tell me you don&#8217;t know about art or history,&#8221; Sweetin wrote in a July 29 Instagram Story <a href="https://www.eonline.com/news/1405545/full-houses-jodie-sweetin-defends-olympics-drag-show-after-candace-cameron-bure-calls-it-disgusting">per E! News</a>, &#8220;without TELLING me you don&#8217;t know about art or history.&#8221;
Her post also included a video that started circulating online after Christians blasted the offensive scene, claiming that it wasn’t religious but inspired by the ancient Greek God Dionysus, who represents &#8220;feasting, festivity and ritual theater.&#8221;

Sweetin’s post comes one day after “Fuller House” star Candace Cameron Bure took to Instagram to blast the anti-Christian scene, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/disgusting-candace-cameron-bure-says-shes-sad-for-souls-after-olympics-opening-ceremony">reported</a>.
“I love the Olympic Games,” Bure said, mentioning that her husband Valeri Bure, a retired professional hockey player, and several other family members, were Olympic competitors.
“The Olympic Games have always brought me so much joy. It’s the best of the best athletes in the world competing for the title,” she added.
“So to watch such an incredible and wonderful event that’s gonna take place over the next two weeks and see the opening ceremonies completely blaspheme and mock the Christian faith with their interpretation of the Last Supper was disgusting,” Bure continued. “And it made me so sad. And someone said, ‘You shouldn’t be sad. You should be mad about it.’ And I’m like, ‘Trust me. It makes me mad.’ But I’m more sad, because I’m sad for souls.”

She also mentioned in her post that some followers claimed the opening ceremonies were not mocking Da Vinci’s famous “Last Supper” painting, but said she’s “not buying it” and she doesn’t “see how [Dionysus] relates to unifying the world through competitive sports and [is] acceptable for children to watch.”
The Paris Olympics admitted on Saturday the blasphemous scene was inspired by da Vinci’s famous mural, then tried to walk it back on Monday, the <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/07/30/sports/paris-olympics-admitted-opening-ceremony-drag-show-was-based-on-last-supper/">New York Post</a> reported.
Following the backlash against the Olympics, Anne Descamps, a spokesperson for the Paris Olympics, said at a press conference, “If people have taken any offense we are really sorry.”
“Clearly there was never an intention to show disrespect to any religious group. (The opening ceremony) tried to celebrate community tolerance,” Descamps told reporters, <a href="https://www.reuters.com/sports/olympics/paris-2024-apologises-any-offence-caused-by-last-supper-sketch-2024-07-28/">via Reuters</a>. “We believe this ambition was achieved.”

A Paris drag queen — who goes by the name Nicky Doll — &#8220;loves&#8221; people being outraged by what’s been called a blasphemous parody of The Last Supper during the 2024 Olympics opening ceremony. 
Doll — born Karl Sanchez — was one of the drag queen torch bearers for the summer Olympics and performed in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/paris-olympics-opening-ceremony-features-drag-parody-of-last-supper">The Last Supper</a> parody which had an obese woman wearing an aureole as Jesus surrounded by drag queens as the Apostles, a decapitated head representing Marie Antoinette of the French Revolution, and drag queens dancing around children.
&#8220;The opening ceremony did ruffle some feathers … and I LOVE it,&#8221; Doll wrote on his <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/sports/paris-olympics-drag-queen-torchbearer-rips-criticism-opening-ceremony-we-aint-going-nowhere">Instagram Stories</a>.&#8221;You know why? Because the Olympics are the biggest stage in the world and us queer people have always been the audience of other people’s life and achievement and it is time that we are welcome in the space.&#8221;

NFL kicker <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/harrison-butker">Harrison Butker</a> was one of the many people who blasted the Olympics for the scene in the opening ceremony, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/chiefs-kicker-harrison-butker-reacts-to-olympics-opening-ceremony-god-is-not-mocked">reported</a>.
“This is crazy,” Butker wrote on social media, along with a Bible quote.
He quoted scripture on X, writing, “Be not deceived, God is not mocked. For what things a man shall sow, those also shall he reap. For he that soweth in his flesh, of the flesh also shall reap corruption. But he that soweth in the spirit, of the spirit shall reap life everlasting.”
Thomas Jolly, creative director of the opening ceremony depictions, had <a href="https://olympics.com/en/news/opening-ceremony-paris-2024-olympics-glory-thomas-joly-artistic-director-event">this to say</a> about his vision. “The extraordinary thing is that everyone in France and the rest of the world has an idea of what France is all about. And I want to play with that, that’s where I want to start from – breaking down clichés, because clichés come along other things,” Jolly said, according to the Olympics website. 
“Above all, I want this ceremony to include everyone. We must all celebrate this diversity,” he added.

CNN hosts will moderate the presidential debate on Thursday — and why not? They have such amazing journalistic credibility.
On Tuesday, CNN’s Sara Sidner interviewed a drag queen, a woman who dresses up as a man who dresses up as a woman. (This woman couldn&#8217;t just be a woman; she had to dress up as a man dressed up as a woman. We have moved beyond the boundaries of logic.) This person goes by Brigitte Bandit. During the interview, Bandit talked about how it&#8217;s a scary time to exist in America as a drag queen.
Apparently, it’s not a scary enough time in America that Bandit can’t appear on national TV wearing drag.
When I first saw this, I wondered which one of these people was the CNN anchor because CNN is so filled with clowns. A CNN anchor is interviewing a woman dressed up as a man dressed up as a cartoon woman whom we are all supposed to take very seriously. We are all supposed to worship before the power of drag and acknowledge that this is what the Founders saw when they enshrined the First Amendment. Brigitte Bandit <a href="https://twitter.com/BrigitteBandit/status/1805634853779415422" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pontificated</a>:

But CNN has its own perspective on this. Sidner praised the look: “The queens are calling on lawmakers to pass a national equality act. Normally, it&#8217;s not a particularly big deal when various groups are invited to Washington to mark some special or ceremonial occasion. When an NFL team wins the Super Bowl, for instance, they get to go to the White House, shake hands with the president, and everyone goes about their day. The same is true when scientists are invited to celebrate their Nobel Prizes, or soldiers are honored for winning the Medal of Honor, or when families are invited to participate in the annual Easter Egg hunt. In cases like these, usually, there&#8217;s no big scandal that erupts after-the-fact. People show up, they participate in whatever the event is, and they leave.
But over the past year, one very notable exception to this rule has emerged, which is this: It&#8217;s becoming increasingly risky to invite LGBT influencers to descend on Washington.
Last summer, for example, a transgender social media personality went topless at a White House Pride Month event with children present. And then, earlier this year, a drag queen who was invited to the White House by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris was <a href="https://thepostmillennial.com/new-drag-queen-invited-to-white-house-by-joe-biden-and-kamala-harris-accused-of-sexual-assaults?utm_campaign=64470" target="_blank" rel="noopener">accused</a> of multiple sexual assaults. These are the kind of episodes that, if you&#8217;re the cynical type, might suggest that inviting prominent members of the &#8220;LGBT community&#8221; to Washington could carry some potential pitfalls. It&#8217;s the kind of thing that can backfire, in a way that other events with other guests are maybe less prone to.
Despite this sordid recent history, though, Democrats on Capitol Hill don&#8217;t seem discouraged in any way. In the spirit of inclusion, they&#8217;re continuing to encourage members of the &#8220;LGBT community&#8221; to come to Washington and make their voices heard. Just yesterday, in fact, so-called drag stars arrived in the nation&#8217;s capital to meet with lawmakers in the House of Representatives. They called it the &#8220;Drag Lobby Day.&#8221; The drag queens were there alongside the group &#8220;MoveOn Political Action&#8221; to lobby on behalf of a couple pieces of legislation.
In any event, the first bill that MoveOn and their drag queens want to see passed is called &#8220;The Equality Act,&#8221; which would make &#8220;sexual orientation and gender identity&#8221; into a protected class. The second agenda item is a resolution called the &#8220;Transgender Bill of Rights,&#8221; which according to The Hill, would &#8220;strengthen civil rights protections for trans and nonbinary Americans.&#8221; So apparently, this special class of people — which no one can even define, really — needs its own Bill of Rights. The one we have just isn&#8217;t good enough for them. They want that one, but then another one too, on top of it.
Nothing they&#8217;re requesting makes any sense, as you&#8217;ll see shortly, and as you can already predict. But first — even before we look at what these people are asking for — this whole &#8220;Drag Lobby Day&#8221; turned into a complete farce before it even began. No one could possibly have predicted that sending men in dresses to Capitol Hill to lobby for legislation would turn into a farce, but that&#8217;s what happened. Somehow, for the third time in a row, LGBT activists have managed to arrive in Washington and completely beclown themselves. 
Behold this early morning interview yesterday on CNN with one of the drag stars-turned lobbyists, who uses the name &#8220;Brigitte Bandit.&#8221; Keep in mind, as you watch this, that CNN will cut off interviews with representatives of the Trump campaign. They&#8217;ll cut away from speeches from Donald Trump. But they&#8217;ll allow interviews like this one to air — before 9:00a.m. no less, when some people are still eating their breakfast — because they&#8217;re far more important than anything the leading presidential candidate could possibly say. Watch:

It&#8217;s very scary to dress like that, we’re told. To which a normal person responds: Okay, so then just… don’t dress like that? But Brigitte Bandit just can&#8217;t resist. And that&#8217;s real bravery. This is Brigitte Bandit&#8217;s sacrifice. It&#8217;s why we need a &#8220;Trans Bill of Rights,&#8221; supposedly. In any other decade, we&#8217;d be asking why someone like &#8220;Brigitte Bandit&#8221; would even think of dressing like this for a national television news interview. But it&#8217;s 2024, and we all know that dressing like this is how you get jobs in the White House communications department. Maybe that&#8217;s the play here.
As for the substance of what &#8220;Brigitte Bandit&#8221; said, a few points need to be made. First of all, &#8220;feeling safe&#8221; is a luxury at this point, in cities all over the country. No one has a constitutional right to &#8220;feel safe,&#8221; regardless of where they go or how they dress. If you&#8217;re going to walk around like that, trying to attract as much attention as possible, that&#8217;s not something we need a new &#8220;bill of rights&#8221; to solve. You can solve it yourself by wearing normal clothes and avoiding the hood. Those are your options.

Additionally, it&#8217;s actually not clear which specific lawmakers were involved in this lobbying effort. There&#8217;s the claim from &#8220;Brigitte Bandit&#8221; that both Republicans and Democrats gave an audience to these drag queen lobbyists, but it&#8217;s hard to find the names of these politicians, at least for now. There haven&#8217;t been a lot of videos coming out of this event, probably by design. And that&#8217;s too bad, because any lawmaker who had any part in inviting &#8220;Brigitte Bandit&#8221; to the nation&#8217;s capital should be impeached immediately and removed from office. That&#8217;s especially true if any Republicans were involved. 
But it doesn’t appear that very many people were involved at all, which may tell you something. As of now, one of the only members of Congress that was apparently in some way involved in this insanity was Jasmine Crockett of Texas. MoveOn claimed on their website that Crockett would meet with these drag queens, or at least participate in some kind of rally they were organizing after the fact. All we know is that on X/Twitter, Crockett responded to this picture of the three drag queens outside her office:

Now, if you&#8217;ve been following Jasmine Crockett&#8217;s contributions in Congress over the past few months, you might actually be impressed by these tweets. They&#8217;re easily the most coherent, grammatically correct sentences that she&#8217;s managed to produce all year. Yet, despite MoveOn’s claims, it doesn’t appear that Crockett did meet with them at all. In fact <a href="https://x.com/repjasmine/status/1805663899712471170?s=46&amp;t=chv9Ja_gvmDx649oSGyDvw">she tweeted</a> later in the day: “So sad I missed you! Come back any time!”
So even Crockett didn’t want to be seen with these people. Instead she let them take a picture in front of her door, and that was it. Later that day the drag queen held a rally on the lawn of the Capitol building. I can’t find a single video of this event — I’m not saying the videos don’t exist, but I couldn’t find a single one. But the Spectator was on the ground and they report that “around 30” people showed up for the rally. It seems pretty clear that even the Democrats are starting to feel embarrassed by all of this. They recognize that the American people do not want drag queens setting the agenda in Washington. The American people want normalcy, and drag queens stand for the opposite of that. 
But not everyone in that party has gotten that memo. In fact this &#8220;Brigitte Bandit&#8221; character recently spoke at the Texas Democratic convention. And as part of that whole process, some of Brigitte&#8217;s <a href="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GPp04ULWQAAdR44?format=jpg&amp;name=900x900" target="_blank" rel="noopener">social media posts</a> attracted a lot of attention. In particular, the one that reads: &#8220;I hate America but I love this bikini.&#8221;
A lot of people saw this post and had some questions for the Texas Democratic Convention. Why would we want this person to deliver any kind of lecture about American policy at a political convention? This is someone who admits to hating America — and that’s not even the most troubling thing about him. But they went ahead and invited &#8220;Brigitte Bandit&#8221; to speak at this convention in Texas anyway. Here&#8217;s part of the speech that resulted:

It goes on, but you get the idea. It&#8217;s the same stock speech you hear all the time from trans activists. It&#8217;s inaccurate, nonsensical, dishonest, and not remotely original. It boils down to: inject children with sterilizing hormones to affirm them, or you&#8217;re killing them. This is the kind of insight that the Texas Democratic Convention apparently desperately wanted to hear. This is the caliber of lobbyist that now walks the halls of the Capitol building.
It only gets worse when you look closely at the proposals that these &#8220;drag performers&#8221; want to pass. Let&#8217;s take the <a href="https://www.markey.senate.gov/news/press-releases/sen-markey-and-rep-jayapal-introduce-the-trans-bill-of-rights-ahead-of-international-transgender-day-of-visibility">&#8220;Transgender Bill of Rights</a>&#8221; first. Apparently, this resolution would:
<blockquote>&#8230;ensure that transgender and nonbinary people have access to services and public accommodations by amending the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to include gender identity.</blockquote>
Apparently, there&#8217;s a lot of trans-identifying individuals who are being refused public accommodations in this country. You may have never heard of this happening, because it&#8217;s not true. But that&#8217;s the claim the drag queen lobbyists are making.
But that&#8217;s not the only reason to pass this new bill of rights, according to these lobbyists. It&#8217;s also important, they say, because too few men are competing in women&#8217;s sports. Therefore, the new bill of rights will, &#8220;Amend Title IX to clarify that it protects students from discrimination based on gender identity and sex characteristics.&#8221; In other words, women&#8217;s sports would be outlawed.
For good measure, this new bill of rights would also, &#8220;codify the right to abortion and contraception,&#8221; as well as &#8220;invest in mental health services designed for transgender and nonbinary people.&#8221; It would also &#8220;require the Attorney General to designate a liaison within the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice dedicated to advising and overseeing enforcement of the civil rights of transgender people.&#8221; So we&#8217;d get more bureaucracy and abortion — two things that Democrats think we can never have enough of.
The other piece of legislation these activists want — The Equality Act — would rewrite even more of our existing laws. According to the activist group <a href="https://www.hrc.org/resources/equality" target="_blank" rel="noopener">HRC</a>: 
<blockquote>The Equality Act would amend existing civil rights law—including the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Fair Housing Act, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Jury Selection and Services Act, and several laws regarding employment with the federal government—to explicitly include sexual orientation and gender identity as protected characteristics. The legislation also amends the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to prohibit discrimination in public spaces and services and federally funded programs on the basis of sex. Additionally, the Equality Act would update the public spaces and services covered in current law to include retail stores, services such as banks and legal services, and transportation services.</blockquote>
Again, we&#8217;re meant to conclude that Citibank and Walmart are turning away customers who claim to be transgender. The point of legislation like this, in case it&#8217;s not obvious, is to create a wave of new lawsuits that badger people into giving special treatment to &#8220;LGBTQ&#8221; customers and employees. If you have an LGTBQ employee who starts acting crazy, laws like this would make it virtually impossible to fire them. That&#8217;s the point. The goal is to empower activists. It&#8217;s to allow some of the least productive members of society to go after people who are actually contributing. In every way, this is contrary to the stated goal of the so-called LGBTQ movement from 20 years ago, which was to ensure that everyone had &#8220;equal rights.&#8221; As any sane person could have predicted, that&#8217;s out the window now.
For what it&#8217;s worth, none of this makes any sense under the law, either. As I discussed yesterday in the context of the Supreme Court case involving Tennessee&#8217;s ban on child castration, the idea that &#8220;gender identity&#8221; is a &#8220;protected characteristic&#8221; doesn&#8217;t work. Protected characteristics under civil rights law are things that are obvious, immutable, or distinguishing. And there is nothing about transgender identity identities that are obvious, immutable or distinguishing. These people claim that they can change their gender overnight.
All of that&#8217;s especially true for the &#8220;identities&#8221; of drag queens. They can just put on a new costume and change their &#8220;identity.&#8221; That&#8217;s why it&#8217;s actually kind of incredible that drag queens, of all people, are the ones lobbying for this legislation. Drag queens don&#8217;t even claim to actually identify as the female characters they play — which means that, in this case, they&#8217;re effectively calling for special legal protections for fictional characters. It&#8217;s no different than the furry community lobbying Congress for legal recognition (which I&#8217;m sure is where we&#8217;re headed).
This is what happens when you start haphazardly amending laws that were already imperfect to being with. At the very least, the word &#8220;immutable&#8221; used to mean something. It theoretically created some kind of limit on the number of special, protected categories the government could create. Now &#8220;Brigitte Bandit&#8221; and some other drag queens want to get rid of that. They want the government to continue creating preferred groups and showering them with benefits. People who admit that they hate America are showing up in costumes to make this argument, and elected members of Congress and the media are listening to them and taking them seriously (or at least pretending to).
That&#8217;s the &#8220;Drag Lobby Day,&#8221; summarized. No one exposed himself to children or got accused of sexual assault. So in that sense, it was an improvement from previous excursions to Washington. But if this lobbying effort was remotely successful — even if the Democrats were clearly embarrassed by it — then there&#8217;s a very good chance we&#8217;ll all have to deal with the consequences of this insanity very soon.

The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/u-s-air-force" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Air Force</a> spent hundreds of taxpayer dollars to hire a drag queen for “drag bingo” and a “glow party,” according to internal documents obtained by Judicial Watch. 
Drag queen “Miss Lexi Andrews” was hired by the 423rd Support Squadron at the RAF Alconbury Air Base in England for a “drag bingo” event on June 23, 2022, and a “glow party” on June 24, 2022, an <a href="https://www.judicialwatch.org/documents/dod-drag-shows-may-2024-pg-27/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invoice</a> obtained by Judicial Watch through a freedom of information request shows. The cost for the “bingo” event was $150 while the “glow party” ran the Air Force $250. 
The invoice was obtained as part of an investigation by CatholicVote Civil Action and Judicial Watch into the Air Force’s promotion of drag queens, which <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/air-force-base-cancels-drag-queen-story-hour-event-after-public-outcry" target="_blank" rel="noopener">made headlines</a> two years ago after a drag queen story hour for children — scheduled to be held at an American air base in Germany — was canceled following public outcry. 
“How on Earth is it appropriate to spend our limited defense dollars on promoting these sexually themed events for children and adults rather than on advancing the military’s mission,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “As we see in these troubling Air Force records, our nation’s military is being ruined by woke ideology.”

“Miss Lexi Andrews” is a Washington, D.C., based “internationally performing” drag queen and author, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/lexi__andrews/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to his social media pages, The Daily Caller first reported. 
Other <a href="https://www.judicialwatch.org/documents/dod-drag-shows-may-2024-pgs-3-4/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">documents</a> sent by the Defense Department to Judicial Watch include promotions of drag events at U.S. Military bases, including a story hour in Ramstein, Germany by “our local Drag King, Sauvage.”
According to promotional materials, one of the books to be read was called “The HIPS on the DRAG QUEEN Go Swish, Swish, Swish.”
Another event advertised by the 86th Force Support Squadron in Germany for those 18 and up was “<a href="https://www.judicialwatch.org/documents/dod-drag-shows-may-2024-pg-6/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Drag Karaoke</a>” at “Club E” with a “special guest from Monarchy of RoyalTEA.&#8221;
The promotion of the drag events drew <a href="https://www.judicialwatch.org/air-force-drag-story-time/">sharp criticism</a> from CatholicVote Senior Advisor Tim Huelskamp.
“The Department of Defense has once again proven that radical leftist ideology is more important than military preparedness and protecting Americans from tangible threats at home and abroad,” Huelskamp said. “After an entire year of stonewalling, the DOD finally returned materials from just one command in one branch, which confirmed what we feared – that taxpayer funds were being used to promote drag shows and radical gender ideology on military bases, with full approval from Air Force leadership.”

Some people were outraged when at a Boston, Massachusetts, Episcopal church hosting an Easter vigil emceed by a drag queen, the Episcopal bishop of the church jokingly <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/04/25/us-news/boston-episcopal-bishop-alan-gates-rips-collar-off-female-cleric-during-easter-vigil/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">removed the collar</a> of a female reverend who forgot where she was during the eucharistic prayer.
Bishop Alan M. Gates removed the collar from the neck of Rev. Tamara Tucker, the priest for The Crossing, which <a href="https://www.thecrossingboston.org/">states</a> it is a ministry “providing a welcoming worship space for LGBTQIA+ folks” at The Cathedral Church of St. Paul on March 30.
“Very simply, we’re going to allow somebody to take their own piece of bread, the small piece of bread, and you will say to the person taking the bread,” Tucker said, then paused before continuing, “Wait, what is it, I’ve been gone for a while,” as the congregation laughed.
“The Body of Christ,” she continued. “It’s very simple, the Body of Christ, that’s it, that’s all you got to do. And then when they take the cup, you’ll pass it to them the Love of Christ, or the Blood of Christ, whichever is more comfortable to you. Can we do that? If I can do that after three months, I think we can. We got this.”
At that point, Gates walked over and removed the white, plastic insert as the congregation laughed. After a moment, he quipped, “Just kidding,” and handed her back the collar.

Some people were offended; “It was just really sad that an occasion that is supposed to be joyous had to be marked by the specter of long-term misogyny that is pretty essential to Christianity, even in a church that feels like it has advanced past that,” Rev. Rita Powell, the chaplain for the Harvard Episcopal Community, <a href="https://www.bostonglobe.com/2024/04/24/metro/episcopal-bishop-apology-female-clergy-collar/?event=event12" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told the Boston Globe</a>.
&#8220;I know Bishop Gates didn’t think of it that way in his intention,” Powell added.
Gates ultimately released an <a href="https://www.diomass.org/news/diocesan-news/statement-apology-bishop-gates" target="_blank" rel="noopener">apology</a>, writing:

I write to share my remorse and deep apology for an action by which I have caused deep pain and hurt. &#8230; In an instant of altogether misguided mischief, I reached out and removed Rev. Tamra’s clerical collar. It was a devastating and demeaning act, which I regret with all my heart.
The Rev. Tamra Tucker is a valued colleague and fine priest whose leadership it has been my honor to affirm. It was not and would never be my intent to humiliate Rev. Tamra; however, that was precisely the impact of my action. Furthermore, that hurt has extended to The Crossing community, whose pastor I disrespected, as well as others who were present or have subsequently learned of this incident and its impact. By my action I misused my authority, failed to extend episcopal grace, and transgressed personal space and boundaries. I am deeply sorry.
I extend my remorse and apology to the Rev. Tamra Tucker; to the Crossing community; to the Cathedral community; to other communities present; to ecumenical companions who had joined us at the Vigil; and to those in the wider church and community whom I have hurt.
In our baptismal covenant we pledge to “respect the dignity of every human being.” I seek forgiveness for my failure to keep this pledge, and God’s grace to renew that commitment.

Former &#8220;RuPaul&#8217;s Drag Race&#8221; contestant and actor &#8220;Shangela&#8221; has reportedly been accused of multiple sexual assaults after recently settling a civil lawsuit accusing the star of rape. 
<a href="https://www.rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-movie-features/shangela-rupaul-drag-race-sexual-assault-1234974148/">Rolling Stone</a> detailed the accusations against 42-year-old Darius Jeremy Pierce from five individuals, including allegations that the drag performer attempted to get them inebriated beyond the ability to give consent.
The sexual assaults allegedly occurred between 2012 and 2018 in California, Texas, Louisiana, and the United Kingdom.

One person reportedly filed a police report for an alleged assault he said happened in Los Angeles in 2017 when he was 20 years old. According to the police report, he recalled &#8220;waking up completely naked on a bed and believed to be at Pierce&#8217;s residence&#8221; after the two met for dinner and Pierce bought him a drink.  He said when he woke up, Pierce told him that they had had sex. 
Another man reportedly said he met Pierce in 2018 in Texas when he was 21. He accused Pierce of shoving him on the floor in a bathroom closet and trying to penetrate him.  
The other three accusations were similar, including claims that Pierce supplied drinks to men who passed out and awoke in a dazed state after they were allegedly sexually assaulted. In some of the cases, the men claim that there was another person in the room with them.

In a letter from Pierce&#8217;s attorney to Rolling Stone magazine, Pierce denied the sexual assault accusations, calling them &#8220;false and unsupported by any evidence or reliable witness testimony.&#8221; 
All five of the people said they came forward after a civil lawsuit, filed by Daniel McGarrigle, a production assistant on HBO&#8217;s &#8220;We&#8217;re Here,&#8221; was dismissed. McGarrigle accused Pierce, who hosted the show, of drugging and raping him after a 2020 wrap party. The case was recently settled. The terms were not revealed.
In 2022, Pierce was invited to the White House by President Joe Biden for the signing of the Respect for Marriage Act, The <a href="https://thepostmillennial.com/new-drag-queen-invited-to-white-house-by-joe-biden-and-kamala-harris-accused-of-sexual-assaults">Post Millennial</a> reported. That same year, the drag queen was invited by Vice President Kamala Harris to her residence for a Pride event.

&#8220;The View&#8221; co-host Sara Haines said she thinks &#8220;everyone belongs at a drag show&#8221; while speaking with drag queen RuPaul.
During the <a href="https://x.com/NickFondacaro/status/1765059783923560557?s=20">ABC talk show</a> on Tuesday, Haines asked RuPaul Charles about legislation in multiple states targeting drag performances, like in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tennessee-district-attorney-blocked-from-enforcing-state-law-shielding-kids-from-explicit-performances">Tennessee</a>, that outlaws adult cabaret male or female impersonators from performing &#8220;nudity, sexual excitement, sexual conduct, excess violence or sadomasochistic abuse&#8221; on public property.
Throughout the segment, none of the co-hosts said the bans are intended to protect children, and such performances could still occur in age-restricted venues under the law.
&#8220;This is all happening while simultaneously we&#8217;re watching some places in this country ban drag shows,&#8221; Haines said. &#8220;Now I want to know your thoughts because to me one of the things that appeals about a drag show and often the community is this is a community that took time to find clarity.&#8221;

&#8220;To see themselves, to be authentic when it wasn&#8217;t one of the actors on the stage,&#8221; she added. &#8220;They had to pave their own way. So, I have always found that everyone belongs at a drag show.&#8221;
&#8220;What do you think of this?&#8221; Haines continued, as she turned the question to RuPaul, who replied, &#8220;You&#8217;re born naked and the rest is drag.&#8221;
&#8220;Everybody is playing a role, everyone one,&#8221; the host of RuPaul&#8217;s Drag Race <a href="https://twitter.com/NickFondacaro/status/1765060856335696112">said</a>. &#8220;You know it. When you get out of the shower you put on your in drag, right?&#8221;
&#8220;So here’s the thing, art doesn&#8217;t have to explain itself,&#8221; RuPaul added. &#8220;Drag is art. Drag pokes fun at that stage play. It&#8217;s there to remind you not to take yourself too seriously…And the people who want to go up against all that are afraid of our light…That is the anecdote to all of this negativity.&#8221;

Co-host Joy Behar interjected and suggested the reason she thought there was a call to ban drag shows was because &#8220;they are jealous&#8221; because they &#8220;see you having so much fun,&#8221; without explaining who &#8220;they&#8221; were.
Whoopi Goldberg, another co-host, added, &#8220;You can ban the drag shows but you aren&#8217;t coming to my house and turning the TV off now are you?&#8221;
