Tony Bobulinski, a former business associate of the Biden family, got into a fiery exchange with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) during an impeachment hearing on Wednesday.
Ocasio-Cortez — known as “AOC” for short — began her five minutes of speaking to the witnesses by asking Bobulinski a “simple” question: Was it his testimony that he personally witnessed President Joe Biden commit a crime?
Bobulinski said “yes,” after which the congresswoman pressed him to name the crime. “How much time do I have to go through it?” he quipped.

“It is simple, you name the crime,” Ocasio-Cortez shot back. “Did you watch him steal something?” she added.
Bobulinski listed “corruption statutes, RICO and conspiracy, FARA …” before stopping as Ocasio-Cortez tried to interject by demanding that he offer “specific” crimes.
“You asked me to answer the question,” Bobulinski said. “I answered the question. RICO, you’re obviously not familiar with. Corruption statutes…”
Ocasio-Cortez shot back, repeating, “Excuse me, sir!” She then singled out Bobulinski’s mention of RICO. “RICO is not a crime. It is a category,” she said.
RICO laws against racketeering were primarily used to go after organized crime organizations in decades past, but they have gotten renewed attention in recent months as former President Donald Trump faces a RICO case in Georgia related to the 2020 election.
“It’s a category of crimes that you’re then charged under,” Bobulinski said. He suggested that there is a “long” list of statutes that would apply.
Still, Ocasio-Cortez kept pushing Bobulinski to name specific crimes.
“It’s funny, in this committee room — everyone’s not here — there’s over 18 lawyers that went to law school. I’ll leave it up to you guys to define the statute,” he said.
He was again interrupted by Ocasio-Cortez, who repeatedly exclaimed, “I reclaim my time!” while pointing an index finger into the air.
The congresswoman then used the remainder of her time to scold her GOP colleagues for proceeding with the impeachment inquiry that lacks “specific” charges of high crimes or misdemeanors against Biden.

Republicans chastised Ocasio-Cortez — particularly over her assertion that RICO is not a crime — on social media.
The X account for the GOP-led House Oversight Committee, which held the hearing, posted a clip of her comments with an emoji of a person doing a facepalm.

“Weekly meltdown by Rep. AOC,” said Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC). “Someone needs to remind the Left, just because you are loud, does not mean you are right.”
