Photos posted to X show Hirsi being <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/photos-show-ilhan-omars-daughter-arrested-for-refusing-to-leave-anti-israel-encampment-at-columbia-university" target="_blank" rel="noopener">arrested</a> by several NYPD officers after she refused to leave the &#8220;Gaza Solidarity Encampment&#8221; that had been set up by anti-Israel protesters on Columbia&#8217;s campus in violation of the school&#8217;s rules.
According to the <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/04/18/us-news/nypd-cops-enter-columbia-after-university-warns-anti-israel-protesters-to-clear-out/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York Post</a>, over 100 students were arrested at the campus encampment on Thursday. Hirsi was released from jail a few hours after her arrest, and she will face trespassing charges, sources <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/arrest-ilhan-omars-daughter-anti-israel-protest-political-fellow-squad-member" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Fox News.
Earlier on Thursday, Hirsi also announced that she was suspended from Columbia’s partner school, Barnard College for participating in the protest.

Ocasio-Cortez released a <a href="https://ocasio-cortez.house.gov/media/press-releases/ocasio-cortez-statement-house-republican-incompetence" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> on Tuesday condemning a series of resolutions that House Republicans planned to consider in response to Iran&#8217;s attack on Israel that followed Israel <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/major-escalation-alleged-israeli-airstrike-kills-top-iranian-general-in-syria" target="_blank" rel="noopener">allegedly killing</a> Iranian generals with a strike in Syria.
&#8220;Following last weekend’s unprecedented response by Iran to Israel’s attack on its consulate, the Republican Majority is explicitly leveraging a series of bills to further escalate tensions in the Middle East. This is a blatant attempt to distract from their own incompetence,&#8221; Ocasio-Cortez said.
&#8220;The country and the world need real leadership from the House of Representatives in this moment, not resolutions designed purposefully to increase the likelihood of a deadly regional war or worse,&#8221; she added. &#8220;I will oppose any cynical effort to further inflame tensions, destroy a path to peace in the region, and further divide the American people.&#8221;
Massie appeared to also express concerns about the prospect of escalation in the Middle East. Beyond condemning Iran&#8217;s attack on Israel, the resolution that passed on Thursday <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-resolution/1143/text" target="_blank" rel="noopener">also says</a> the House stands with Israel as it defends itself against Iran&#8217;s attacks and reaffirms the United States&#8217; commitment to Israel&#8217;s security; supports Israel&#8217;s &#8220;right to self-defense&#8221; and &#8220;right to respond to this aggression&#8221;; commends the U.S. military, the United Kingdom, France, and Jordan for intercepting Iranian missiles and drones; and urges full enforcement of U.S. sanctions and export controls against Iran.

AOC&#8217;s comments on CNN&#8217;s &#8220;State of the Union&#8221; on Sunday come despite efforts by Israel to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza, which is inspected to ensure that weapons are not being smuggled in to Hamas.
&#8220;This word is extremely serious. It&#8217;s one that&#8217;s taken with extraordinary gravity. And, to me, the threshold of intent is a high one, it is a serious one and is not one that is made lightly,&#8221; she said.
She later suggested that Israel was not targeting Hamas: &#8220;But what we are seeing here, I think, with a forced famine, is beyond our ability to deny or explain away. There is no targeting of Hamas in precipitating a mass famine of a million people, half of whom are children.&#8221;
When pressed by CNN host Jake Tapper about statements from Israeli officials that Hamas could end the tomorrow instantly by releasing the hostages and surrendering, AOC responded: &#8220;I do disagree, because, when we are talking about famine, the actions of Hamas should not be tied to whether a 3-year- old can eat.&#8221;

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) pushed the state of New York to seize former President Donald Trump&#8217;s assets in the state if he cannot secure an unprecedented bond while he appeals the civil fraud case against him and his company.
AOC made the remarks about the $464 million bond during a Sunday interview with CNN&#8217;s Jake Tapper on &#8220;State of the Union.&#8221;
&#8220;I think Attorney General [Letitia] James has been handling this case with tremendous skill,&#8221; AOC said. &#8220;It&#8217;s ultimately up to her determination, but it is my belief that all people should be treated equally under the law. And if that seizure of assets would be pursued to any other American, then Donald Trump should be treated the same.&#8221;
&#8220;As far as the political implications go, I think that what we are dealing with politically is the much larger and much more grave and serious pressure of having this judgment against Donald Trump and him being in this degree of debt and the financial pressures that he is under and what he is subject to do in order to obtain those assets, I actually think that there is risk in not seizing these assets and the open window that exists in him trying to secure these funds through other means,&#8221; she said.

Ocasio-Cortez made the initial statement during a Wednesday hearing before the House Oversight Committee regarding the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. She was attempting to argue the witness — former Hunter Biden business partner Tony Bobulinski — into a corner by challenging him to name what specific crimes under the RICO umbrella he believed had been committed.
Frustrated by his unwillingness to simply concede her point, Ocasio-Cortez insisted that RICO was a &#8220;CAT-E-GOR-Y&#8221; of crimes rather than a specific crime.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/impeachment-witness-tony-bobulinski-claims-hunter-and-james-biden-perjured-themselves" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tony Bobulinski</a>, a former business associate of the Biden family, got into a fiery exchange with Rep. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/alexandria-ocasio-cortez" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez</a> (D-NY) during an impeachment hearing on Wednesday.
Ocasio-Cortez — known as &#8220;AOC&#8221; for short — began her five minutes of speaking to the witnesses by asking Bobulinski a &#8220;simple&#8221; question: Was it his testimony that he personally witnessed President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a> commit a crime?
Bobulinski said &#8220;yes,&#8221; after which the congresswoman pressed him to name the crime. &#8220;How much time do I have to go through it?&#8221; he quipped.

&#8220;It is simple, you name the crime,&#8221; Ocasio-Cortez shot back. &#8220;Did you watch him steal something?&#8221; she added.
Bobulinski listed &#8220;corruption statutes, RICO and conspiracy, FARA &#8230;&#8221; before stopping as Ocasio-Cortez tried to interject by demanding that he offer &#8220;specific&#8221; crimes.
&#8220;You asked me to answer the question,&#8221; Bobulinski said. &#8220;I answered the question. RICO, you&#8217;re obviously not familiar with. Corruption statutes&#8230;&#8221;
Ocasio-Cortez shot back, repeating, &#8220;Excuse me, sir!&#8221; She then singled out Bobulinski&#8217;s mention of RICO. &#8220;RICO is not a crime. It is a category,&#8221; she said.
RICO laws against racketeering were primarily used to go after organized crime organizations in decades past, but they have gotten renewed attention in recent months as former President Donald Trump <a href="https://www.axios.com/2023/08/15/trump-georgia-rico-act-racketeering" target="_blank" rel="noopener">faces a RICO case</a> in Georgia related to the 2020 election.
&#8220;It&#8217;s a category of crimes that you&#8217;re then charged under,&#8221; Bobulinski said. He suggested that there is a &#8220;long&#8221; list of statutes that would apply.
Still, Ocasio-Cortez kept pushing Bobulinski to name specific crimes.
&#8220;It&#8217;s funny, in this committee room — everyone&#8217;s not here — there&#8217;s over 18 lawyers that went to law school. I&#8217;ll leave it up to you guys to define the statute,&#8221; he said.
He was again interrupted by Ocasio-Cortez, who repeatedly exclaimed, &#8220;I reclaim my time!&#8221; while pointing an index finger into the air.
The congresswoman then used the remainder of her time to scold her GOP colleagues for proceeding with the impeachment inquiry that lacks &#8220;specific&#8221; charges of high crimes or misdemeanors against Biden.

Migrant flea markets and prostitutes now line the streets of a Queens neighborhood that falls within Representative <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/alexandria-ocasio-cortez" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez&#8217;s</a> (D-NY) House district, video shows.
The northwest Queens neighborhoods of Corona, Jackson Heights, and Elmhurst have become overrun with illegal migrants hawking clothes and other items on the street, video first <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/aoc-district-neighborhood-labeled-third-world-migrants-clog-streets-prostitutes-overrun-every-block" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> by Fox News shows.
Large piles of clothes for sale sit on the ground, blocking parts of the sidewalk, while trash overflows on street corners. Migrants also sell sneakers, pots and pans, toys, and picture frames, according to the video, which was filmed by local resident Ramses Frías.
&#8220;We&#8217;ve become sort of this epicenter of crime and prostitution and illegal street vending. It&#8217;s taken over many streets,&#8221; Frías <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/furious-resident-aoc-district-says-migrants-turning-neighborhood-epicenter-crime-prostitution" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Fox News.
&#8220;Like most of my like-minded residents, we see this as a third-world market,&#8221; he added. &#8220;Basically, you just see clothes thrown across the floor … the items are stolen from donation bins or stolen from stores, and they just set up shop outside brick-and-mortar businesses. They take away trade from these businesses and don&#8217;t pay taxes.&#8221;
Meanwhile, Corona&#8217;s main strip along Roosevelt Avenue has become known as the &#8220;market of sweethearts&#8221; for being rife with prostitutes who stand on the street during the day. The prostitutes reportedly solicit men during the day even as families with children in strollers walk by.
Nearly a dozen brothels were operating on the street last summer, the New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/07/29/nyc-neighborhood-overrun-by-broad-daylight-brothels/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.

Moms in the neighborhood expressed consternation about the open illegal sex trade at the time, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nyc-avenue-reportedly-overrun-with-prostitutes-soliciting-in-broad-daylight-propositioning-kids-police-do-nothing">saying</a> the prostitutes recruited local children to hand out their X-rated business cards, some of which included photos of scantily clad women.
On Wednesday last week, prostitutes were snapped standing outside storefronts soliciting men, photos obtained by Fox News show. The prostitutes also reportedly stand around outside of supermarkets.
Ocasio-Cortez&#8217;s 14th Congressional District includes parts of Queens and the Bronx.
The congresswoman responded to the video in a statement, accusing Republicans of filming migrants in their &#8220;worst moments.&#8221;
&#8220;What we are seeing here is the result of anti-immigrant policies that deny immigrants proper work permits and vending licenses, and drive them into the shadows of undignified conditions,&#8221; Ocasio-Cortez told Fox News.
&#8220;This is just one way of many that anti-immigrant policies hurt all of us. Paths to citizenship and work documentation can solve this problem &#8211; but Republicans would rather block those so they can film people in their worst moments for views,&#8221; she said.
Frías, who took the video of the migrant flea market, is a former Democrat who is now running for New York state assembly as a Republican.
Frías said he has not seen Ocasio-Cortez campaign in the struggling neighborhoods.
&#8220;She doesn&#8217;t campaign there, she&#8217;s never set foot there. I&#8217;ve never seen her on Roosevelt Avenue. This is a few blocks off from where I literally live. I live and breathe this every single day,&#8221; he told Fox News.
&#8220;I would gladly give her a tour. I would walk her through everything, let her see exactly how it is and how it&#8217;s affecting the quality of life for everybody that lives there,&#8221; Frías said.

CNN pundit Scott Jennings provoked the ire of several &#8220;Squad&#8221; members when he referred to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) as a &#8220;public relations agent for Hamas&#8221; during a recent panel discussion.
Jennings joined a conversation hosted by CNN&#8217;s Abby Phillip — and he responded to Omar&#8217;s promise to vote to re-elect President Joe Biden in 2024 despite any misgivings she might have about his administration&#8217;s continued support for Israel in the war against the terror group Hamas.

Phillip began by asking Scott whether he was surprised to hear Omar say she would vote for Biden, adding, &#8220;And some of her colleagues, I’m pretty sure, wouldn’t say that today.&#8221;
&#8220;No, she&#8217;s a Democrat. They&#8217;re gonna vote for Biden. I&#8217;m not surprised about that,&#8221; Jennings replied. &#8220;I am surprised that, in the year of our Lord, 2024, there is a public relations agent for Hamas sitting in the United States Congress.&#8221;
Jennings went on to talk about the fact that Omar — and many others — had called for an immediate ceasefire but had made no mention that Hamas was still holding hostages who were taken from Israel during the October 7 terror attacks that left more than 1200 people dead.
&#8220;The reason Israel is not at that meeting is because Hamas will not provide a list of the living hostages. I didn&#8217;t hear a word – a word of concern for the hostages. Ceasefires – she said – don&#8217;t happen magically,&#8221; Jennings continued. &#8220;Well, you know there was a ceasefire in place on October the 6th. And who broke it on October the 7th? I cannot believe honestly what I heard out of that interview. What I want are for those hostages to come home. I want somebody – somebody out there to show just a little bit of remorse that Hamas broke the ceasefire, raped, and murdered horrifically women all kinds of people. That – that&#8217;s it. How about a little bit of concern for those folks? That&#8217;s what I&#8217;m looking for.&#8221;
Members of the far-left &#8220;Squad&#8221; were quick to run defense for Omar, however, lashing out at Jennings and CNN for allowing his comments to go unchallenged.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said that she believes that President Joe Biden is the Democratic Party&#8217;s best option against former President Donald Trump in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
AOC made the remarks during a Sunday interview with Kristen Welker on NBC News&#8217; &#8220;Meet The Press&#8221; when asked about why Biden is struggling in the polls against Trump despite Trump facing numerous legal issues.
&#8220;I think what we have right now, what we&#8217;ve seen in New Hampshire, he is virtually the nominee of the party. His turnout in New Hampshire is actually not something to ignore,&#8221; she said. &#8220;We saw, from a write-in campaign, remember, President Biden wasn&#8217;t even on the ballot in New Hampshire, he won overwhelmingly with turnout that even exceeded Obama 2012 turnout when Obama was on the ballot. And so, there are quite a few indicators in his strength in New Hampshire. We will see what happens in South Carolina and, of course, when we get to important primaries like Michigan.&#8221;
When asked directly if Biden was the party&#8217;s best option, AOC said, &#8220;Yes&#8221; that Biden was &#8220;the strongest nominee&#8221; the party could put forward.
&#8220;I think we can certainly do more to be advancing our vision,&#8221; AOC said. &#8220;And I believe that we have a strong vision that we can run on. You know I think – and – and for what it&#8217;s worth, the president has said, &#8216;If you give me the House, and if you give me the Senate and reelect me to the presidency, we will codify abortion rights and the right to choose in this country. We&#8217;ll codify reproductive rights.&#8217; I think we can do more.&#8221;
&#8220;I think we – I think we need to be talking more about health care,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;Of course, me as a progressive, I want to see the age of Medicare drop, whether it&#8217;s to 50, as the president has discussed earlier, or to zero, as is my preference, to extend Medicare to all people in the United States of America. But I believe that we can be doing more. We can talk even more about the fact that public colleges and universities should be tuition free or reduced.&#8221;

A watchdog group filed an ethics complaint on Monday against several members of Congress including Rep. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nancy-pelosi" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nancy Pelosi</a> (D-CA) and Rep. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/alexandria-ocasio-cortez" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez</a> (D-NY), accusing the Democratic lawmakers of abusing official resources for political benefit. 
The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT) filed the complaint to the Office of Congressional Ethics against Reps. Cori Bush (D-MO), Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), Sean Casten (D-IL), Greg Casar (D-TX), Maxwell Frost (D-FL), Ted Lieu (D-CA), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Ritchie Torres (D-NY). They are all accused of linking official government resources to their campaign accounts, a violation of federal law and House ethics rules regulating the social media activity of Congress.
The lawmakers “have all published numerous social media posts on their campaign accounts either using official government resources or re-posting official government content, including official photographs and video, work product, and official social media posts,” according to a copy of the <a href="https://65db7681-e755-4cff-abe7-1d9e373df4db.usrfiles.com/ugd/65db76_a61e7c9a334a4837835b7e47e084a9c3.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">complaint</a> first shared with The Daily Wire. 
FACT said that the violations are serious because they allow politicians to give a sense of official legitimacy to campaign accounts. 
“Though to some it may seem like a simple thing on the surface, the Members choosing to break this law do it for a reason — it advantages them politically. The various codes governing elected officials’ behavior all purposefully — and wisely — prevent Members from blatantly leveraging their currently held office to either get reelected or to use their position to gain a future position,” the letter said. 
The complaint included about 91 pages of evidence documenting the violations of official House rules. One example included Pelosi posting House January 6 footage from her official campaign account. 
“This is not an isolated incident. These violations are rampant and obvious, and clearly the OCE’s failure to act has encouraged continued violations. This failure has also incentivized these Members to use House proceedings for political campaigning rather than doing what is in the best interest of the country,” FACT Executive Director Kendra Arnold told The Daily Wire.

 “Likewise, it is also clear why these Members are doing this, it&#8217;s for a political advantage and one that is paid for by the taxpayers. The OCE has both the authority and a clear responsibility to ensure each ethics violation is dealt with swiftly. Not doing so both permits clear violations to continue and erodes the public’s trust in the OCE itself,” she added. 
FACT has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/government-watchdog-files-ethics-complaint-against-florida-democrat-congressman-over-alleged-abuse-of-official-resources" target="_blank" rel="noopener">filed similar individual complaints</a> against other members of Congress this year, including Frost, Casten, and Rep. Reuben Gallego (R-AZ).

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) brushed off a question on Friday about New York City <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nyc-moves-thousands-of-illegal-immigrants-to-high-school-gym-due-to-high-winds-forcing-students-to-switch-to-remote-learning" target="_blank" rel="noopener">placing illegal immigrants</a> in a high school overnight, a decision that forced students to leave early and switch to remote learning the next day.
Fox Business correspondent Hillary Vaughn asked Ocasio-Cortez about the city’s decision to move illegal immigrants to James Madison High School earlier this week, but the congresswoman didn’t appear too excited to answer.
“Are you okay with the school being used as a shelter?” Vaughn asked while walking with Ocasio-Cortez on Capitol Hill.
“You know, I think it’s uh — again, this is not in my district,” she responded.
“I think it’s very clear here that what’s most important is that we identify a facility that’s appropriate for these folks,” Ocasio-Cortez added. “I don’t anticipate this being a long-term solution. It shouldn’t be a long-term solution.”

Parents, students, and politicians <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/parents-sound-off-on-nycs-decision-to-move-thousands-of-illegal-immigrants-to-high-school-gym" target="_blank" rel="noopener">slammed</a> city officials after around 2,000 illegal immigrants were transported from Brooklyn’s Floyd Bennett Field to James Madison High School on Tuesday as the city faced a storm causing high winds. New York began placing illegal immigrants in tents at the airfield in November after Governor Kathy Hochul negotiated a deal with the Biden administration to allow the state to use the site to house illegal immigrants who have flooded the Big Apple over the past two years.
Students were forced to leave school early on Tuesday after the city made the decision and reached out to school administrators, and the next day, students remained home for remote learning.
“I do believe they are putting the life of people who are here illegally and not documented over my life. I am a 15-year-old girl at the school who wants to get her education and better her life, and she can’t come to school today because the day was interrupted by people who aren’t supposed to be here,” one student <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/01/10/metro/parents-outraged-booted-nyc-students-used-by-city-hall-in-out-of-control-migrant-crisis/">told</a> the New York Post.

“Our public schools are meant to be places of learning and growth for our children, and were never intended to be shelters or facilities for emergency housing,” NYC Republican Councilwoman Inna Vernikov said in a press release after the city decided to move the migrants to the high school. “There are approximately 4,000 students who attend Madison High School. Their parents are rightfully concerned. Our constituents who live in the vicinity are concerned for their safety and wellbeing. This will agitate local residents, disrupt the entire school environment, and place a tremendous burden on our families, students, school administrators and staff.”
