New White House Associate Communications Director Tyler Cherry spent the weekend scrubbing his social media account after a number of old tweets — including a number that were racially charged, anti-police, and anti-Israel — resurfaced and went viral.
Cherry, who previously worked for the Department of the Interior under Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, faced so much scrutiny over the resurfaced comments that by Monday, only one post was visible on his X account.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) is urging colleagues to support her resolution to empower the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/u-s-house-of-representatives" target="_blank" rel="noopener">House</a> sergeant-at-arms to detain Attorney General <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/merrick-garland" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Merrick Garland</a>.
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/house-sergeant-at-arms-could-take-garland-into-custody-under-gop-proposal" target="_blank" rel="noopener">measure</a> comes in response to Garland refusing to share audio from the classified documents probe against President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a> in compliance with subpoenas.
Luna posted a photo to X on Monday showing a hand holding a stack of envelopes and stating that her team was delivering a letter to every other House Republican.
In the letter, which has been <a href="https://x.com/RepLuna/status/1805279017609601368" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shared</a> online, Luna said she plans to call up her resolution to hold Garland in inherent contempt of Congress in &#8220;the next few days.&#8221;
&#8220;The urgency of this situation cannot be overstated,&#8221; Luna wrote in the missive. &#8220;Our ability to legislate effectively and fulfill our constitutional duties is at stake.&#8221;

At issue are audio files of interviews with Biden and his ghostwriter, Mark Zwonitzer, conducted as part of special counsel Robert Hur&#8217;s classified documents investigation.
Hur&#8217;s team declined to recommend charges against Biden, who is running for re-election, but described him as a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.&#8221;
The Department of Justice (DOJ) <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/doj-wont-prosecute-merrick-garland-house-gop-held-contempt-biden-tapes-rcna157261" target="_blank" rel="noopener">refuses</a> to prosecute Garland despite the House <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/house-votes-to-hold-garland-in-contempt-for-withholding-biden-docs-case-audio" target="_blank" rel="noopener">voting</a> to hold him in contempt because Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-asserts-executive-privilege-over-tapes-in-docs-probe" target="_blank" rel="noopener">asserted</a> executive privilege over the tapes.
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/justice-department-prosecute-garland-contempt-refusal-provide-audio-111134793" target="_blank" rel="noopener">has vowed</a> to take legal action as the next step, but Luna is not waiting around to see whether a court battle will produce results.
Luna&#8217;s <a href="https://luna.house.gov/posts/breaking-rep-luna-introduces-resolution-to-hold-attorney-general-merrick-garland-in-inherent-contempt-of-congress" target="_blank" rel="noopener">resolution</a>, if enacted, could lead to the House sergeant-at-arms <a href="https://www.politico.com/live-updates/2024/05/16/congress/garland-contempt-vote-00158433" target="_blank" rel="noopener">taking Garland into custody</a> if the attorney general continues to defy the subpoenas.
It would be the first time one of the chambers of Congress has used its inherent contempt powers <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/politics/wp/2018/01/18/congress-ability-to-twist-arms-is-limited-unless-it-wants-to-arrest-bannon-itself/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">to hold</a> someone <a href="https://www.usnews.com/news/national-news/articles/2024-06-11/what-is-contempt-of-congress-and-why-does-it-matter#:~:text=The%20third%20option%20is%20a,1934%20under%20the%20Hoover%20administration." target="_blank" rel="noopener">since 1934</a> during the Hoover administration.
Lawmakers got transcripts of the interviews but Republicans say they need the audio for oversight purposes. Democrats claim their GOP colleagues are motivated by politics.
Fox News reported Garland <a href="https://x.com/ChadPergram/status/1804268648216887592" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reached out</a> to moderate Republicans, pressing them to reject Luna&#8217;s effort. There may be an attempt to table the measure before it gets a final vote.
Rep. Dave Joyce (R-OH) is the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sole-republican-to-oppose-garland-contempt-explains-vote" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sole member</a> of the House GOP who broke ranks and joined with Democrats in voting against holding Garland in contempt earlier this month.
“As a former prosecutor, I cannot in good conscience support a resolution that would further politicize our judicial system to score political points,” he said in a statement.
Joyce added, &#8220;The American people expect Congress to work for them, solve policy problems, and prioritize good governance. Enough is enough.&#8221;

We are just a few days away from a massive, important political debate between former President Trump and President Biden.
This race is extraordinarily tight, and it could go either way.
The outcome revolves around Trump&#8217;s performance more than Biden&#8217;s; Trump has much more to lose in this debate than Biden.
Everyone perceives Biden for what he is: a bad president. He may be extremely old, he may not be mentally all there, but he can surpass expectations because of that. All he has to do is show up, speak even somewhat coherently, and not fall over. The expectations bar has been set so low by the Trump campaign and the media that if Biden does so it will be deemed a big Biden win.
Trump, on the other hand, has to buck many factors. He has to buck the fact that the moderators hate his guts and do not want him to be reelected. They think he’s an actual Hitlerian figure.
He has to buck the fact that there&#8217;s no audience in the room. Donald Trump thrives on having an audience; he responds to the audience.
Some people think that the mics being muted might help Trump because it&#8217;ll prevent him from talking over Biden, but the problem with this is that Trump will not be able to jump in and get in a quick quip.
There are a lot of factors that are stacked against Trump here. But the biggest factor that is stacked against Trump is Trump himself because Trump&#8217;s tendency is to go extremely hard and aggressive to defend everything he has ever done.
In reality, what Trump needs to be is cool, calm, collected, and meticulous in his attack on Biden&#8217;s presidency. That’s because if the debate is a referendum on Biden&#8217;s presidency, Joe Biden loses. If this is a referendum on Trump&#8217;s character and his foibles, then Donald Trump loses.
Here’s how I think Trump should handle the debate: He needs to shift every attack directed at him back into a jujitsu attack on Joe Biden.
Before Trump even starts, he needs to lead off by setting the predicate for the debate. He needs to say:
<blockquote>Joe Biden is a dishonest man. He lied to you in the last round of debates I did with him. You&#8217;ll recall that in the last round of debates, he openly stated that the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation and that Hunter had never taken any money from any Chinese source, for example. Those were lies. Joe Biden lies to you all the time. Joe Biden lies to you about the economy. Joe Biden lies to you about illegal immigration. Joe Biden lies to you about foreign policy. Joe Biden lied to you about the solidity of the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Joe Biden is a liar. So what he says up here on the stage cannot be trusted because he is not a trustworthy figure.</blockquote>
That would set the groundwork for when Biden says things that are not true, Trump can say, “He&#8217;s lying. That&#8217;s not true.”

The second piece of groundwork Trump needs to set about Biden is that he is tyrannical, that he&#8217;s used the power of the executive branch in unprecedented ways.
He should say:
<blockquote>Joe Biden has had more executive orders than any president in modern history. He has used the power of the presidency in order to, in his own words, “avoid the rulings of the Supreme Court.” He has threatened 80 million Americans with vaccine mandates he said he would not initiate. He has shut down state attempts to close the southern border. He is tyrannical. Joe Biden does not care about the boundaries of government. He can pretend he&#8217;s standing up here for democracy, but he thwarts democracy with every step he takes.</blockquote>
Thirdly, he should declare Biden is an incompetent rube of a president and say:
<blockquote>Inflation reached a 40-year high under Biden and is now embedded in the economy. He has brought you a disastrous foreign policy; there are now two massive ongoing conflagrations across the world. Plus, Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un, and Xi Jinping are all hanging out together and plotting their next moves. The enemies of the United States lick their lips when they see Joe Biden in the White House.</blockquote>
Those are the three points Trump should set up as the predicate for the debate: Joe Biden is a liar, tyrannical, and incompetent.
Additionally, if Biden comes to the end of an answer but has time left on the clock, which will undoubtedly happen, and says, “Well, anyway, I don&#8217;t want to get into that,” and the moderators turn to Trump, Trump should say, “You know, Joe, you have a minute left on the clock. I really think the American people deserve to hear your thoughts.”
That will completely throw Biden. He won&#8217;t know what to do with it. It&#8217;ll be a great moment for Trump.
We know the lines of attack that are going to be used by Biden because he has used them already.
The number one line of attack will be January 6. He believes that this is his trump card. He believes it to be his get-out-of-jail free card, to say January 6 over and over.
What Donald Trump needs to say is:
<blockquote>Joe, you and I disagree on what happened in the 2020 election. I think that your party rigged many of the voting rules in advance of the election in order to ensure an extraordinary number of mail in ballots ballot harvesting. I think that you worked with the media in order to prevent the dissemination of a story about Hunter Biden&#8217;s laptop in the last month of the election and you and your son, knowing that the laptop was real, lied about it to the American people.
We can disagree about what happened in 2020, but none of that matters to the American people because right now the calendar reads June 27, 2024. No one in America is thinking about January 6, and the only reason you are is because you are a cynical actor attempting to avoid the consequences of your own failed presidency. Most Americans are concerned about how they put food on the table today. And that&#8217;s your fault because you&#8217;re the president. It doesn&#8217;t matter who I think won the presidency. You are the president. You&#8217;ve been the president since January 2021, and you&#8217;ve been terrible at it.</blockquote>
The second issue that Biden presumably is going to bring up is a corollary of the first, which is that Trump is a threat to democracy. He&#8217;s going to suggest that Trump wants to overturn the election and he&#8217;s threatened to be a dictator on day one. 
Trump&#8217;s proper response on the “threat to democracy” is twofold. He should say:
<blockquote>Joe, you keep saying I’m a threat to democracy because I don&#8217;t believe I lost the 2020 election. I notice that Hillary Clinton doesn&#8217;t believe she lost the 2016 election, and that&#8217;s apparently just fine. And she keeps saying that it was Russian disinformation or that I stole the 2016 election.
You seem just fine with that. Half your party is fine with that. But put that aside. In reality, you are the threat to democracy. Democracy means, in the United States, a democratic republic with two elected branches of the legislature who are supposed to initiate bills and then you are supposed to effectuate those bills once you have signed them.
But that is not how you run the government. You set your political allies on me in the courts. You&#8217;ve had your party&#8217;s members from New York to D.C. to Florida to Atlanta target me for political reasons. I had zero criminal investigations into me into my eighth decade of life until I decided to run for reelection, at which point I got inundated with them. I don&#8217;t think that&#8217;s a coincidence. So I want you to explain, Joe, why it is that your DOJ let you off the hook and tried to get a sweetheart deal with Hunter before they were caught, but has been sicced on me in every jurisdiction you can find? Does that sound democratic to you? Trying to use the courts to go after your political opponent? 
You used OSHA to mandate vaccines for 80 million Americans. You violated the Constitution to try to allow people to skate on their student loan debt so you can let a blue collar plumber pay for the tuition in the future of some gender theory major over at Wellesley. You violated your constitutional oath by keeping the border open and letting through at least seven million illegal immigrants.
That sounds like a threat to democracy to me and you’re baking all of these regulations into the administrative state so that even if I&#8217;m elected, it makes it difficult for me to change your policy. You have effectuated the establishment of a fourth unelected branch of government, independent of even the executive, unless the executive happens to be a Democrat.</blockquote>
That is response number one to the democracy issue.
The second response would be to say, “You have been a dictator the entirety of your presidency,” and then list the litany again. 
The third issue will be the criminal conviction of Trump.
I think if Trump brings up Hunter Biden in response that would be a mistake, and he’ll walk right into a trap because Biden will throw his son under the bus and say, “I respected the justice system for my own son, so I certainly respect it for you.”
What Trump should say is:
<blockquote>Joe, you&#8217;re right. I was convicted by a Democrat judge and a Democrat prosecutor who coordinated to set up a series of specious charges in a district that you won overwhelmingly in an extraordinarily blue district in Manhattan, which is why the case was filed there. You&#8217;re right. I was convicted in that case. But at least I was found competent to stand trial. Your own Department of Justice refused to prosecute you for mishandling classified information, for keeping classified documents in your drawers, telling your ghostwriter about them, and keeping them in your car and garage. Your own DOJ refused to prosecute you because they effectively found that you are too old and too wavering mentally for a jury to convict you.
And now your own DOJ is stonewalling. They won&#8217;t even release the tape of you talking to them for a prolonged period of time. Why? Answer it, Joe. Why? Why won&#8217;t you authorize your DOJ to release the tape? You&#8217;re the president. You can release the tape today. Release the tape. If you say that you are so coherent and that Robert Hur’s a liar about your mental status, why not just release the tape of the interview?</blockquote>
Finally, the issue of style. This is going to be the most important element for Trump because he&#8217;s going to have to contain himself. And when Trump contains himself, he can be quite good at this. The truth is that in debates, Trump has historically done well in situations in which he has been more contained. If you remember the debates with Hillary, he was more contained.
The first debate with Biden in 2020 was disastrous because he wasn’t contained, but he likely won the second one because he was more contained.
Let Biden talk. That&#8217;s all. If he lets Biden talk for prolonged periods of time, people are going to see that he can&#8217;t even realistically defend his own policies.
The whole purpose of a debate is to be pointed and bring people&#8217;s attention where you want it. Trump needs to spend the entire debate redirecting attention from him to Biden — but that runs against Trump&#8217;s grain because he believes that when people are talking about him it means he&#8217;s winning.
But that was not true in 2020 and is not true in 2024.
Focusing on Biden and his record is the road to victory.

The following is an edited transcript of an interview between Daily Wire editor-in-chief John Bickley and founder of the Dhillon Law Group, Harmeet Dhillon on a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/podcasts/morning-wire/weaponized-lawfare-against-trump-conservatives-sunday-extra" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sunday Extra Edition of Morning Wire</a>.
Republicans have increasingly sounded the alarm over the use of the justice system against not just President Trump, but his associates, his legal counsel, and even his supporters. From the handling of the January 6 cases to federal and state-level lawsuits against Trump and his allies, conservatives say the era of politically-driven “lawfare” is upending American principles and having a widespread chilling effect on free speech and freedom of association. 
JOHN: Joining us now to discuss the “lawfare” trend is Republican Party official and Dhillon Law Group founder, Harmeet Dhillon. Thank you for coming on. First, let&#8217;s start at the top, with Donald Trump. We&#8217;ve seen an unprecedented series of cases brought against a former president and the leading presidential candidate. Are the “conspiracy theorists” correct? Is this a concerted effort to take down a presidential candidate coordinated at the highest levels of his rival political party? 
HARMEET: You start with the January 6 committee investigation. That was used as, first of all, an extended commercial for Democrats producing primetime theater out of hauling citizens, including prominent advisors and supporters of President Trump in front of Congress to answer staged questions as if it&#8217;s a TV show. It was produced like that. In fact, some of the production included Nancy Pelosi&#8217;s daughter being there and at the January 6 proceedings somehow coincidentally filming a documentary.So you start with that and then the evidence that was gathered in that whole process was ultimately used and parceled out to other prosecutors. So first of all, it was all handed off to the special counsel appointed through Merrick Garland, who is, of course, answerable to the president. And he&#8217;s gone on to do two different prosecutions in two different courts.Of course that&#8217;s also purposeful to give the maximum amount of effort to have multiple proceedings happening at the same time — tying up the president, his team, his supporters with lawfare in that regard. And then you have the two state criminal prosecutions and one civil prosecution in New York, both of which are on the criminal side, incredibly flimsy. In one case, the Georgia prosecutor and her team are shown in logbooks as having made multiple visits to the White House. And in the Alvin Bragg prosecution in New York that just concluded, you have a very senior United States Department of Justice —a number three official — Michael Colangelo, sort of lent out, second to the DA&#8217;s office in New York to help them. And so all of this points to DC, points to coordination at the highest levels of the Democratic Party and points to using the events of (now almost four years ago) January 6, as a way to block Republicans from getting elected and specifically to convict President Donald Trump. And timing it all to have a crescendo during an election year.
JOHN: From what you&#8217;ve seen in terms of reception from the public of these lawsuits, the conviction in New York, the ongoing lawsuits, including a lot of the setbacks for the prosecution, with appeals and delays on these lawsuits, including in Georgia, is this tactic working against Trump?
HARMEET: Well, it&#8217;s working in one sense, which is it&#8217;s given Democrats a talking point and the hope is to persuade non-committed voters, and certainly Democrats and Independents, to stay away from him. And that&#8217;s a talking point that is resonating with some people, I&#8217;m sure. At the same time, I think the overreaching aspect of it and the coordinated aspect of it and the multiple attempts to use extremely flimsy efforts to “get Trump” has created a sympathy backlash, certainly amongst wavering Republicans. And I would say from what we&#8217;ve seen, he has increased support in certain minority communities that he hasn&#8217;t had before. I think people are viewing president Trump as being the unfair victim of persecution here. 
JOHN: Now it&#8217;s not just Trump who&#8217;s faced what many say is legal persecution. A lot of people associated with him, including former attorneys have been indicted. Can you speak to that? What have we seen in terms of lawyers targeted for what appears to be political or ideological reasons?
HARMEET: Well, this is unprecedented in the United States. What we have seen is multiple attorneys being prosecuted. First of all, indicted in some of these criminal cases involving the alternate electors. And you&#8217;ve seen that in Wisconsin, you&#8217;ve seen it in Arizona with multiple electors and you&#8217;ve seen it in Georgia. In some cases you have the same person getting indicted multiple times, including after they plead guilty. This has happened to Jenna Ellis, for example, and Kenneth Chesebro as well. They&#8217;ve still, after pleading guilty in Georgia, been indicted in other courts. That&#8217;s unprecedented. You&#8217;ve seen Bar investigations being brought against lawyers for President Trump.

JOHN: Right.
HARMEET: Again, we have not seen that in the past. In California, John Eastman has lost his Bar license in the trial here, and in addition to being indicted in other courts. Sidney Powell has also been dragged into Bar court, although she just survived a challenge in Texas. Doesn&#8217;t mean she&#8217;ll survive it in other jurisdictions. So the purpose here is, first of all, yes, they painted with a broad brush and indicting people, but I think the intention of that effort is to scare lawyers away from representing President Trump. And every lawyer in the litigation world pretty much has partners and employees, and pressure is brought to bear on these lawyers who want to support President Trump as a lawyer by saying, you know, you might get indicted, you might lose your license, you might lose your livelihood if you do this. and so the easiest thing for a lawyer to do in that circumstance is to decline the representations.It&#8217;s not worth it for most people. That is not something we&#8217;ve seen in prior years. We&#8217;ve had some very shady behavior by leading Democrats, and no one went after the Bar licenses of the lawyers who did their faithful duty under our legal system to represent them. So, that is extraordinary demagoguery from the top in the Democratic Party.
JOHN: Could this have a broader chilling effect on attorneys representing conservative clients — high-profile conservative clients writ large?
HARMEET: Oh, I think it has had that effect. 100%. From a risk management perspective, a lot of the law firms you saw step up to represent President Trump, in 2016 for example, won&#8217;t have anything to do with him today. And it&#8217;s become controversial amongst lawyers. I&#8217;m one of President Trump&#8217;s lawyers, I&#8217;ve been representing him for several years now, and so are many, many lawyers at my law firm. There are very good lawyers representing him who&#8217;ve come together to do that, but the pool is definitely narrower than it used to be. And so, that&#8217;s the goal. And when you see the lawyers who were indicted and the electors who were indicted in these multiple jurisdictions — Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, Nevada, and Georgia — some of them have had a hard time finding counsel. Nowhere has this been more acute than in D. C., where the folks who were indicted for participation in January 6 have had a very difficult time finding lawyers in D.C. who can represent them. I probably get requests on a rolling basis every month from people, and there&#8217;s just a very small handful of lawyers to choose from. It&#8217;s deliberately done in such a way that people are not getting fair trials.
JOHN: You mention the J6 cases. Broadening this out, we have seen the prosecution of people who are average citizens and we&#8217;ve also seen some whistleblowers on the Right. For example, Dr. Eithan Haim from Texas, who blew the whistle on trans procedures being conducted at a hospital there. We&#8217;ve also seen some journalists that lean Right who the DOJ and other major entities have gone after. Is this truly a broader trend in terms of prosecution of conservative citizens? 
HARMEET: Yes, it&#8217;s extraordinary. And you can contrast what&#8217;s happened starting with January 6. We protect peaceful protest in our country and if it gets out of hand, yes, as a protester, you may be prosecuted, arrested, certainly. usually ticketed. You might have to answer for minor misdemeanor offenses. Or not. If you were a BLM protester in the summer of 2020, for example, where there was significant property damage, rioting in multiple American cities, nothing really happened to you. There was no accountability. That includes protests in D.C., where protesters even created disturbances in the Capitol. But the way the January 6 protesters were treated, including folks who simply just walked through open doors with no evidence of having pushed a cop, broken a window, or done anything even remotely violent. Some people I know have been indicted and prosecuted and convicted of oral conduct, just saying words on the steps of the Capitol. That&#8217;s unprecedented. And that has definitely been used on a rolling basis to really terrorize supporters of the Right. That&#8217;s just one example. I mean, you&#8217;re seeing journalists get prosecuted. You&#8217;re seeing this physician, Dr. Eithan Haim — in Texas of all places — be prosecuted for an alleged HIPAA violation. Who knew that one could be prosecuted for that? In fact, one can only be prosecuted for it if the whistleblowing happens to target a sacred cow of the Left, which is the lie that you can change your sex through surgery and that children are appropriate vehicles for that experimental procedure. So, today, anybody who seeks to challenge liberal orthodoxy barriers — and is smart, and is reading the media — is pausing and thinking twice because we have crossed so many different barriers in our civil and criminal conduct today that never were crossed before. Prosecuting lawyers, prosecuting whistleblower physicians, prosecuting journalists. We&#8217;re becoming desensitized in a way to the shocking excesses of the Biden administration and its supporters. 
JOHN: In your view, what can be done to reverse this trend?
HARMEET: Well, some conservatives would like to turn it back by threatening similar retribution when we have power In my view, two wrongs don&#8217;t make a right. There may be some need to prosecute officials who exceeded their constitutional bounds – I think that&#8217;s fair – who conspired to deny Americans of their right to free speech. That&#8217;s appropriate. We have conspiracy law in this country. But overall, I think the way we win this is to stand up to it. Make ourselves too numerous. We have to win elections. And then we have to govern fairly and appropriately. That may seem Pollyanna-ish, but I am a profound believer in our United States Constitution and in freedom of speech, including the freedom of speech of people who disagree with me. So I would not recommend that a Republican administration ignore the Constitution. But I do think the officials who conspire to suppress truthful speech about vaccines, about the pandemic, about the 2020 election, about BLM rioting and violence — I think that&#8217;s illegal. We should stop it, we should punish it, and we should make sure it doesn&#8217;t happen again in our country. And we should not be afraid to get to the bottom of it. I think our Republican leaders in Congress have been too shy to really do hard hitting probes and demand accountability. For example, people are being prosecuted in our country, advisors to President — Trump, Peter Navarro, Steve Bannon — are being prosecuted for the identical conduct as the current Attorney General himself, refusing to respond to a subpoena from Congress. The Biden Attorney General did the same thing, just simply ignored subpoenas. Well, the guys and gals in Congress have inherent criminal contempt authority. I understand that Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) has introduced a measure that says if the current Attorney General doesn&#8217;t respond by next week, then they can go after him and arrest him through the Sergeant at Arms. I&#8217;d love to see that, because fair is fair. I don&#8217;t think anyone should have been prosecuted, certainly either of the two presidential advisors. They had immunity, and they were prosecuted and convicted in, I think, rigged proceedings nonetheless, and we really can&#8217;t have that. So hopefully at least that particular wrong is righted. That&#8217;s what I think we need – we need to really get smart on the Right and be prepared for these tactics and understand the rules of engagement have changed and meet those changes.
JOHN: Well said. In the end, I think a lot of Americans are shocked and very troubled by what has taken place over the last few years. And it really shaken the confidence in the justice system, the courts. And it&#8217;s sad to watch. Thank you so much for coming on.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/cnn" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CNN</a> anchor Kasie Hunt shut down a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rfk-jr-fails-to-qualify-for-cnn-presidential-debate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">debate preview</a> on Monday after Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt kept bringing up how the moderators had criticized her boss in the past.
CNN anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, who are moderating on Thursday, were mentioned after Hunt asked Leavitt what former President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a> would do differently at the debate this time after losing the 2020 election.
Leavitt started her response by asserting that Trump is &#8220;well-prepared&#8221; for the debate and quipping that he &#8220;doesn’t have to hide away and have his advisers tell him what to say&#8221; like President Joe Biden.
Trump &#8220;knows what he wants to say&#8221; and will &#8220;relay his vision to the American people to make this country strong, safe, secure and wealthy again,&#8221; Leavitt added.

She soon took aim at CNN, saying Trump is &#8220;knowingly going into a hostile environment&#8221; and noting how the moderators have expressed their opinions of the former president and conducted &#8220;biased coverage&#8221; of him.
After Leavitt wrapped up her answer by discussing Trump bringing his message to voters, Hunt defended her colleagues.
&#8220;Jake Tapper and Dana Bash have acquitted themselves as professionals as they have covered campaigns and interviewed candidates from all sides of the aisle,&#8221; she said.
Hunt continued, &#8220;I’ll also say that if you talk to analysts of debates, previous, that if you’re attacking the moderators, you’re usually losing.&#8221;
The interview pressed on—though not for much longer—as Hunt asked Leavitt about setting expectations for Trump&#8217;s first debate against Biden of the 2024 election cycle.
Leavitt said, &#8220;Well, first of all, it takes about five minutes to Google &#8216;Jake Tapper, Donald Trump&#8217; to see that Jake Tapper has —&#8221; before Hunt interjected.
&#8220;Ma&#8217;am,&#8221; Hunt said with a wave of her hand, &#8220;we’re going to stop this interview if you’re going to keep attacking my colleagues.&#8221;
The interview quickly came to a halt as Hunt insisted she was willing to have the conversation if she was there to speak on Trump&#8217;s behalf, and Leavitt stressed that she was &#8220;stating facts&#8221; about the moderators.
&#8220;Now I’m sorry. We’re going to come back after the panel. Karoline, thanks very much for your time. You are welcome to come back at any point,&#8221; Hunt said as Leavitt&#8217;s video feed was cut off.

As pro-life conservatives and Republicans celebrate the second anniversary of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, President Joe Biden released a video urging Democrats to keep him in the White House for a second term to &#8220;fight like hell&#8221; against &#8220;extremism&#8221; and bring back complete abortion protections in all 50 states.
In a 45-second spot posted by the president&#8217;s account on YouTube on Sunday, Biden quotes his opponent Donald Trump&#8217;s support for the overturning of Roe. The presumptive Republican presidential nominee has boasted that he &#8220;was able to kill Roe v. Wade.&#8221;
&#8220;Two years ago, the Supreme Court justices that Trump handpicked helped overturn Roe v. Wade,&#8221; Biden said. &#8220;Decades of progress shattered just because the last guy got four years in the White House. We know what will happen if he gets another four.&#8221;
The president then blasted Trump&#8217;s supporters as the video showed a clip of the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. Biden claimed that Republicans will push to ban abortion &#8220;nationwide&#8221; before they target &#8220;IVF and birth control next.&#8221;
&#8220;We&#8217;re up against extremism,&#8221; Biden continued. &#8220;Send me back to the White House and I&#8217;ll fight like hell to restore Roe v. Wade and protect American freedom.

In a 6-3 decision on June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/united-states-supreme-court-overturns-roe-v-wade-leaves-abortion-restrictions-to-states" target="_blank" rel="noopener">overturned</a> the high court&#8217;s 1973 decision that paved the way for the U.S. to become one of the <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/interactive/2021/us-abortion-laws-worldwide/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">most radical</a> pro-abortion countries in the world. The 2022 Dobbs v. Jackson Women&#8217;s Health ruling was made possible by three Trump-appointed conservative justices — Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney-Barrett — joining Justices John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, and Samuel Alito.
While Chief Justice Roberts argued that the Dobbs decision did not need to go as far as overturning Roe, Alito wrote in the majority opinion that “Roe was egregiously wrong from the start.&#8221;
&#8220;Its reasoning was exceptionally weak, and the decision has had damaging consequences. And far from bringing about a national settlement of the abortion issue, Roe and Casey have enflamed debate and deepened division,” Alito added. “It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”
Biden and the Democratic Party launched a full-out abortion blitz immediately following the Dobbs decision, which the party says helped mobilize its base for the 2022 midterms, where Democrats across the country outperformed expectations. The pro-abortion side has won at the ballot box every time in the months and years after Roe&#8217;s reversal, even in red states such as Kansas, Kentucky, and Ohio.
Earlier this year, Trump came out <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-says-arizona-abortion-law-goes-too-far-that-will-be-straightened-out" target="_blank" rel="noopener">against</a> Arizona&#8217;s near-total abortion ban and questioned Florida&#8217;s six-week abortion limitations.

“So for 52 years, people have been wanting to end Roe v. Wade to get it back to the states. We did that. It was an incredible achievement,” Trump said in April. “And now the states have it, and the states are putting out what they want. It’s the will of the people. So Florida is probably going to change; Arizona is definitely going to change. Everybody wants that to happen.”
Many Republicans also expressed their support for IVF after the Alabama Supreme Court <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/alabama-supreme-court-says-couple-can-continue-wrongful-death-lawsuit-over-destruction-of-frozen-embryos" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ruled</a> in February that frozen embryos should be recognized and protected as unborn children. Just weeks later, with support from Trump, Alabama Republican Governor Kay Ivey signed a bill into law that protected IVF providers following the state Supreme Court&#8217;s decision.

For those who don&#8217;t spend their Sunday mornings glued to the television — and their Sunday afternoons attempting to dig through a week&#8217;s worth of network and cable news media spin — The Daily Wire has compiled a short summary of what you may have missed.
To nail down Sunday&#8217;s media spin, we take you back to the chaotic southern border and the continuous, unchecked flow of illegal immigrants crossing into the United States – and the Biden administration&#8217;s desperate attempts to first convince us that it wasn&#8217;t happening, and then that if it was happening, it was all Republicans&#8217; (read: Trump&#8217;s) fault.
It was Jennifer Palmieri — who previously worked for both former President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton — who said the words aloud on MSNBC&#8217;s &#8220;Inside with Jen Psaki,&#8221; telling guest host Michael Steele that President Joe Biden had &#8220;done more to secure the border than any other president.&#8221;
She went on to claim that &#8220;Congress has not followed up because Trump said they should not&#8221; and argue that Biden&#8217;s recent <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/scotus-decision-raises-timing-question-on-bidens-illegal-immigration-order">executive order</a> — which expands DACA and offers legal status to the immigrant spouses of American citizens — &#8220;Compare that to Trump who tried to separate families and not solve the problem.&#8221;

Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) also blamed Trump during an appearance on &#8220;Fox News Sunday,&#8221; telling anchor Shannon Bream that Biden had used his State of the Union address earlier this year to petition Trump directly to cooperate with legislation aimed at securing the border instead of trying to &#8220;block&#8221; it.
&#8220;Every state is now a border state,&#8221; Bream said, adding, &#8220;So how does the buck not stop with the president on this issue?&#8221;
&#8220;Shannon, President Biden, in his state of the union address this year extended his hand to former president Trump and said instead of blocking legislation, instead of campaigning against legislation that I believe would have passed if it had gotten to the floor, work with me. Let&#8217;s solve this problem,&#8221; Coons said.
Bream pushed back, pointing out that the failed bipartisan border deal would not have done anything to stop the recent rapes and murders allegedly committed by illegal aliens who crossed the border since Biden became president.
&#8220;You can&#8217;t assume that every person seeking asylum in this country is going to commit a crime,&#8221; Coons protested.
&#8220;It only matters that it&#8217;s one, when it&#8217;s an American life,&#8221; Bream argued.

Senator <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/graham-biden-could-face-criminal-prosecution-for-illegal-aliens-let-into-u-s-who-raped-murdered-women" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lindsey Graham</a> (R-S.C.) also joined Bream to discuss the border, but he painted a very different picture of Biden&#8217;s impact on the chaotic scene that has played out there since he took office and began systematically dismantling Trump&#8217;s border security measures.
Graham referenced the imminent Supreme Court decision on presidential immunity, explaining that if the court ruled against Trump — and said that presidents did not have blanket immunity — it could raise issues for Biden.
&#8220;On and on and on, all of these women who’ve been raped and murdered have one thing in common: The people that killed them, raped them, and murdered them were in our custody and let go, I think illegally. So Joe Biden better hope and pray there’s presidential immunity, because when he allowed the killer of Laken Riley to be released on parole because of &#8216;lack of capacity,&#8217; I think he’s subject not only lawsuit, but criminal prosecution, if there’s not presidential immunity,&#8221; Graham said.

Former president Donald Trump said President Joe Biden will be “all jacked up” for the first presidential debate after the president reportedly retreated to Camp David to prepare last week.
Trump mocked Biden at a rally in Philadelphia on Saturday ahead of the first presidential debate set for June 27. The former president and the presumed GOP presidential candidate said Biden’s reported <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/biden-heads-camp-david-prepare-1st-presidential-debate/story?id=111215648" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stint</a> at Camp David is to give Biden enough time to sleep ahead of Thursday’s debate.
“As you know, it’s been reported that Crooked Joe has gone to a log cabin to ‘study, prepare,’ Trump told the crowd. “No, he didn’t do, he’s sleeping now because they want to get him good and strong.”
“A little before debate time, he gets a shot in the a**,” Trump continued. “They want to strengthen him up so he comes out, he’ll come out – okay, I say he’ll come out all jacked up, right? All jacked up.”

During his Philadelphia trip, Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-says-hes-decided-on-a-running-mate-expects-this-person-to-attend-debate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">divulged</a> that he has decided on a vice presidential pick. While he did not name the person, he said his pick will “most likely” be at the debate.
“They’ll be there,” he then added. “I think we have a lot of people coming.”
By late last week, Trump had reportedly <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/trump-doug-burgum-jd-vance-marco-rubio-vp-search-rcna157069" target="_blank" rel="noopener">narrowed</a> his focus to two potential vice presidential picks: North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum and Sen. JD Vance of Ohio. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida is also in contention, though doubts about his enthusiasm and the legal hurdles of a president and vice president of the same state have dampened his chances.
The Biden campaign is preparing for the debate as the president reportedly preps at Camp David, the longtime presidential retreat. While Biden is out of the public eye, the campaign plans to put on hundreds of events touting the president and drawing a contrast to Trump.
“Now, with the debate just days away, Team Biden-Harris is putting a magnifying glass on the choice this week as Democrats in Atlanta and across the country organize around this moment,” Biden-Harris campaign communications director Michael Tyler said in a memo, according to <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4735795-biden-campaign-debate-prep/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Hill</a>.
Thursday will be the first time for either Biden or Trump to appear on a debate stage since the 2020 contest.

Jackson, who served as a White House physician for Trump and former President Barack Obama, told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/video/6355559317112" target="_blank" rel="noopener">on &#8220;Sunday Morning Futures&#8221;</a> he plans to make a formal request.
&#8220;Tomorrow, I&#8217;m sending a letter to President Biden, to his physician, Dr. [Kevin] O&#8217;Connor, and I&#8217;m CCing his entire Cabinet,&#8221; Jackson said.
&#8220;It&#8217;s embarrassing that I have to do this and it&#8217;s really embarrassing as a former White House physician to have to do something like this but we don&#8217;t have any choice, based on what&#8217;s going on,&#8221; he added.

Some Republicans have speculated whether Biden uses drugs to perk up before a performance. The White House rejected such talk after Biden&#8217;s State of the Union address this year.
“It’s telling that Republican officials are unable to stop announcing how intimidated they remain by [the] President’s State of the Union performance,” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/white-house-denies-biden-used-drugs-before-sotu-says-potus-was-high-on-confidence" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> White House spokesman Andrew Bates.
Trump, who has pressed for pre-debate drug tests in the past, <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/22/us/politics/trump-biden-supplements-debate.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suggested</a> at a campaign stop in Philadelphia on Saturday that Biden will &#8220;come out all jacked up&#8221; for their face-off next week.
Jackson said his latest in a series of letters will be &#8220;demanding on behalf of many millions of concerned Americans right now that he submit to a drug test before and after this debate.&#8221;
The congressman noted he is &#8220;specifically&#8221; interested in performance-enhancing drugs and opined that Biden did not appear to be his usual self in his most recent State of the Union address.
&#8220;There&#8217;s just really no way to explain that, other than he was on something, that they&#8217;d given him medications,&#8221; Jackson added.
Pressed to comment on what drugs Biden could be taking, Jackson said Aricept is one that often comes up.
&#8220;But there&#8217;s all kinds of new drugs that are out there that are specifically for Alzheimer&#8217;s or Parkinson&#8217;s, things that cause these cognitive issues that the president seems to be subject to,&#8221; he added.
&#8220;Those drugs are out there. They treat the cognition part of it,&#8221; Jackson said. &#8220;They try to make it where he can think straighter and he&#8217;s not lost and confused as much.&#8221;
The congressman also mentioned drugs &#8220;that actually just increase alertness, like Adderall and other types of amphetamine-type drugs, maybe Provigil, things like that.&#8221;
He continued, &#8220;And then there&#8217;s a host of drugs that try to take the agitated edge off of most of these cognitive disorders.&#8221;
With Biden at the presidential retreat in Maryland for debate prep, Jackson pondered whether the president&#8217;s aides are working to see which arrangement of drugs works best.
&#8220;He&#8217;s going to be at Camp David for a full week before the debate,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Part of that is probably experimenting with just getting the doses just right, because they have to treat his cognition.&#8221;
Jackson concluded the interview by contending that Biden would be making a &#8220;dangerous&#8221; choice if he gets drugged up for the debate.
&#8220;On a day-to-day basis, we see a Joe Biden that struggles to stay awake. He looks sleepy. He slurs his speech. He shuffles when he walks. He&#8217;s having these freezing episodes now,&#8221; he said.
&#8220;So the American people need to know what&#8217;s going on,&#8221; Jackson went on. &#8220;And our adversaries and our allies see this. And it&#8217;s a national security issue for us.&#8221;

He also pictured Biden at the retreat &#8220;trying to memorize lines, again, to explain horrible policy decisions that he&#8217;s made over the last three and a half years.&#8221;

When asked if he was on board with the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cnn-announces-finalized-rules-for-first-trump-biden-debate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">rules CNN has set</a> for the debate and the &#8220;playing field&#8221; heading into the event, the Trump son expressed confidence.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said during an interview over the weekend that President Joe Biden could be open to criminal prosecution over the effects of his historic border crisis if the U.S. Supreme Court rules that presidents do not have immunity from prosecution.
Graham made the remarks during a Sunday Fox News interview with Shannon Bream while discussing the forthcoming ruling.
&#8220;Most Americans believe that they&#8217;re not safer under President Biden than they were Trump,&#8221; Graham said. &#8220;[Senator] Chris Coons, a dear friend, said that there&#8217;s a good case to be made, that you&#8217;re safer today than you were when President Trump was president. If you believe that you shouldn&#8217;t be allowed to drive. That&#8217;s silly. That&#8217;s dangerously wrong. The border is beyond broken. You have wars in Ukraine. You have the Middle East on fire. When it comes to enforcing the law, Joe Biden has been beyond reckless. He&#8217;s taken a parole statute that&#8217;s limited in nature, and is given a million people parole.&#8221;
&#8220;Laken Riley&#8217;s murderer was paroled because they had lack of capacity in El Paso,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;They let him out under the parole statute, because they were full, there&#8217;s nothing in the statute says you can go cuz you&#8217;re full. On and on and on, all of these women who&#8217;ve been raped and murdered have one thing in common: The people that killed them, raped them, and murdered them were in our custody and let go, I think illegally. &#8220;Two-thirds of the American people support Donald Trump&#8217;s policy prescriptions for immigration right now, including a majority of Hispanics in the United States,&#8221; Jennings said.
&#8220;Do you see them as racist and xenophobic comments?&#8221; Walker <a href="https://transcripts.cnn.com/show/ctmo/date/2024-06-23/segment/02" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pressed</a>.
&#8220;He&#8217;s painting migrants as being vile — they have violent tendencies, right? And, of course, dehumanizing them to, you know, being entertainment for the rest of us,&#8221; she added.
As Walker made her rebuttal, Jennings shot back by repeating, &#8220;Oh, is he?&#8221;
He then alluded to cases in which illegal migrants have been accused of committing various crimes, including murder, during the Biden administration.
&#8220;Is he painting them as being violent? I mean, would Laken Riley think they were violent? Would Rachel Morin think they were violent? Would Jocelyn Nungaray in Texas think they were violent?&#8221; Jennings asked.
He continued, &#8220;How about the girl that was raped in broad daylight in New York City? How about the girl that was kidnapped in Missouri?&#8221;
Jennings acknowledged how &#8220;there are violent people in the country&#8221; and Trump uses &#8220;colorful language&#8221; when he speaks.
&#8220;But the bottom line is immigration is killing Joe Biden&#8217;s campaign right now. This is why he has a low approval rating,&#8221; Jennings said. &#8220;This is why Donald Trump is honing in on this. And people are responding to it and people are fed up with it.&#8221;
He added, &#8220;And if you want to call two-thirds of the country racist or xenophobic because they&#8217;re in a mood right now that they want this fixed, yes, agree. By all means, go on. It&#8217;s not going to work.&#8221;
Biden <a href="https://apnews.com/article/biden-asylum-migration-immigration-mexico-border-dec5f83b468b5795479bf1f5e49799d5" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> an executive order earlier this month that would temporarily restrict asylum requests at the southern border if daily illegal crossings blow past a certain threshold.
Last week, the president <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/immigration/biden-plans-new-policy-shielding-undocumented-spouses-us-citizens-rcna157604" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> a policy geared toward protecting the undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens from deportation.
