President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the dropping stock market is the fault of former President Joe Biden, adding that slow economic growth is from &#8220;the Biden overhang&#8221; and &#8220;has NOTHING TO DO WITH TARIFFS.&#8221;
Trump made the comment on <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114427089568235019" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Truth Social</a> as the Dow Jones Industrial Average, S&amp;P 500, and Nasdaq Composite all dipped again Wednesday morning. Since Trump&#8217;s massive tariff rollout, which began with hitting China, Canada, and Mexico in early February, the <a href="https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/index/djia?mod=mw_quote_switch" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dow Jones</a> has dropped by around 5,000 points, the <a href="https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/index/comp?mod=mw_quote_switch" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nasdaq</a> is down nearly 2,000 points, and the <a href="https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/index/spx?mod=mw_quote_switch" target="_blank" rel="noopener">S&amp;P 500</a> is down around 500 points.

The president has <a href="https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/trump-tells-americans-to-be-patient-as-global-markets-keep-dropping-over-tariffs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">repeatedly</a> asked Americans to remain patient as his economic and trade policies take effect, but many Americans are still uneasy about how Trump&#8217;s tariffs will affect the U.S. economy. On Wednesday, a U.S. Department of Commerce report showed that gross domestic product fell at a 0.3% annualized pace over the first quarter of 2025, CNBC <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/04/30/trump-gdp-tariffs-biden-overhang.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. It was the first quarter of negative growth since the first quarter of 2022.
The Commerce Department report pointed to Trump&#8217;s tariffs as a reason for the decline in GDP in Q1, as companies tried to get ahead of the tariffs by ramping up imports. The Trump administration&#8217;s cut to defense spending also contributed to the GDP slowdown.
In January 2024, Trump took credit for a rising stock market under former President Biden. In a Truth Social post, Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/111840568643216314" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>, &#8220;THIS IS THE TRUMP STOCK MARKET BECAUSE MY POLLS AGAINST BIDEN ARE SO GOOD THAT INVESTORS ARE PROJECTING THAT I WILL WIN, AND THAT WILL DRIVE THE MARKET UP.&#8221;
The stock market reacted positively last week after the Trump administration hinted that the trade war with China might be coming to an end. Last Tuesday, after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned against a prolonged trade war, Trump said the 145% tariff on China &#8220;will come down substantially, but it won’t be zero.&#8221; As the White House says that numerous countries are ready to make a trade deal, Trump is still trying to bring China to the negotiating table.

Border czar Tom Homan said Monday that Joe Biden was the first president in history to intentionally leave the border unsecured.
Homan made the comments at a White House briefing to discuss border enforcement during President Donald Trump&#8217;s first hundred days. Homan said that under Trump, unlawful crossings were &#8220;historically low&#8221; and that the border was the most secure it has ever been, in contrast to the record number of illegal immigrants that entered the United States under the Biden administration.
&#8220;Every president I ever worked for took border security seriously because you can&#8217;t have national security if you don&#8217;t have strong border security,&#8221; Homan said. &#8220;Even President Obama and President Clinton took some steps to secure the border because they understood national security was important. Joe Biden is the first president in the history of this nation who came into office and unsecured a border on purpose. That&#8217;s just a fact.&#8221;
He later said that Biden&#8217;s immigration policies were motivated by the desire that a future Democratic president would give illegal immigrants released into the country amnesty, saying Biden was &#8220;selling this country off for future political power.&#8221;

Contrasting Biden and Trump, Homan said that between 11,000-15,000 people were crossing the border illegally per day this time of the year under Biden, while under Trump, just 178 had crossed in the last 24 hours. During the same time, he said there were 1,800 known &#8220;gotaways&#8221; under Biden, compared to just 38 under Trump. Homan added that from January 20 to April 1, 2024, Biden released 184,000 illegals out of federal custody into the country. The Trump administration has only released nine total, including four so they could testify in criminal cases and four with extreme medical conditions.
In total, Homan said that there have been 139,000 deportations under Trump. He added that the administration was prioritizing the estimated 700,000 illegals who have been charged with crimes. The Trump administration on Monday placed signs on the White House lawn featuring mugshots of deported illegals arrested over crimes like rape and murder.
&nbsp;
During the briefing, Homan also weighed in on the arrest of Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan on Friday over allegations that she helped an illegal immigrant from Mexico evade ICE.
&#8220;You don&#8217;t have to support ICE&#8217;s operations. You can support sanctuary cities if that&#8217;s what you desire to do. Sanctuary cities can stand aside and watch ICE keep their communities safe,&#8221; Homan said. &#8220;When you cross that line to impediment or knowingly harboring and concealing an illegal alien from ICE, you will be prosecuted, judge or not.&#8221;

Patty Morin, whose daughter Rachel, a mother of five, was raped and murdered by El Salvadoran illegal immigrant Victor Martinez-Hernandez in 2023, condemned Democrats for championing the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an alleged MS-13 member whom the Trump administration deported to El Salvador, while ignoring her pain and never reaching out to her.
Morin spoke of the White House press briefing last week at which she spoke, telling <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/video/6371804501112">Fox News Digital</a>, “People were literally shoulder to shoulder cameras, microphones everything going and as soon as I get up to the podium, everyone shut off their cameras; everyone shut off their microphones.”
“People don’t realize what actually happened to my daughter,” she said. “And during the trial, and before the investigation, they only gave us an outline; they didn’t give us details. And during the trial, we actually saw the crime scene photos and the autopsy photos and they had so many expert witnesses come in and testify to this horrendous, gruesome brutal murder, this thing that happened to my daughter. And so I went in and I described, summarized, what had happened to her. She was dragged 150 feet; they followed a 150-foot blood trail to the culvert where her body was. Her body was outlined in blood. The silhouette of her body is against the tunnel ball outlined in the blood that was gushing from her head. She was raped. She was strangled. There wasn’t a part of her body that didn’t have some kind of bruise, abrasion, cut some kind of abuse to it.”
“And none of them had their recorders on or their cameras on because they didn’t want the American people to know how violent these crimes are and how rampant they are,” she stated. “There’s only one or two maybe three that have hit the headlines, but there are thousands of these stories all over America that aren’t being covered because either 1) the family is ashamed; 2) law-enforcement doesn’t wanna cause a panic, and 3) it’s usually blue states or Democrats that wanna downplay it because for some reason, they are profiting in some way from having these 20 million illegal immigrants in our country.”
“I had somebody just this past weekend come up to me and said that there has been migrant crime going on in Maryland and in our county for decades,” she recalled. “He cited one that happened 20 years ago and he said people don’t realize that that was a migrant crime because media and law enforcement kind of played it down.”
Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) flew to El Salvador last week and met with Garcia. Democrat Reps. Robert Garcia of California, Maxwell Frost of Florida, Yassamin Ansari of Arizona and Maxine Dexter of Oregon flew there on Monday.
“It’s been about 20 months since my daughter was murdered; it’s been about ten months that we’ve known it’s been an illegal immigrant, and in all this time, President Biden never reached out; Kamala Harris never reached out; Mayorkas never reached out,” Morin said. “Senators here in Maryland have not reached out at all. And it’s been almost 20 months, total. So their silence and their actions or lack of actions speak volumes to their character and the values that they hold. And as an American citizen, as a Maryland citizen, and as a mom, it tells me that I‘m not important or valuable, and that an illegal immigrant — that means he’s broken federal law by coming into the country and staying here, has broken state law by coming to the country and staying here, and then beating his wife, it’s in court; he’s broken other state laws — they would rather champion his cause, a criminal, than the victim. I think it is utterly despicable.”

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that it would be impossible to give a trial to each one of the millions of migrants who illegally entered the country under former President Joe Biden, adding that he hoped he would get cooperation from the courts for his mass deportation plans.
Trump said that he won the election on his promises to deport illegal migrants and that the country would be very &#8220;dangerous&#8221; if his administration were blocked from carrying out those deportations. Various federal courts, including the Supreme Court, have <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/scotus-blocks-trump-from-deporting-alleged-tren-de-aragua-gang-members" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bogged down</a> the administration&#8217;s efforts to use the Alien Enemies Act to deport suspected gang members.
“We’re getting them out. I hope we get cooperation from the courts, because we have thousands of people that are ready to go out and you can’t have a trial for all of these people,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “It wasn’t meant. The system wasn’t meant. And we don’t think there’s anything that says that.”
“A judge can’t say, ‘You know, you have to have a trial.’ The trial is going to take two years,&#8221; Trump added. &#8220;No, we’re going to have a very dangerous country if we’re not allowed to do what we&#8217;re entitled to do. And I won an election based on the fact that we get them out.” 
Trump also said that there was &#8220;virtually&#8221; no one crossing the border illegally under his watch, stating that the border was &#8220;a tad stronger&#8221; than it was during his first term in office.
The comments come after Trump made multiple posts on Truth Social talking about how long it would take to give a trial to the more than 10 million illegal migrants in the United States.
&#8220;How can Biden let Millions of Criminals into our Country, totally unchecked and unvetted, with no Legal authority to do so, yet I, in order to make up for this assault to our Nation, am expected to go through a lengthy Legal process, separately, for each and every Criminal Alien. In a second post, he said it would take 200 years to give trials to everyone.
&#8220;If we don’t get these criminals out of our Country, we are not going to have a Country any longer. We cannot give everyone a trial, because to do so would take, without exaggeration, 200 years,&#8221; he <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114377993807616549" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. &#8220;We would need hundreds of thousands of trials for the hundreds of thousands of Illegals we are sending out of the Country.&#8221;
The Trump administration has been locked in a battle with the courts on numerous immigration actions, including the deportation of suspected MS-13 member Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to his home country of El Salvador. A federal judge has ordered that Garcia be returned to the United States due to an &#8220;administrative error,&#8221; but the Trump administration has so far resisted these orders. The Supreme Court has also limited immigration enforcement, blocking the administration from deporting alleged Tren de Aragua members to Venezuela.

Attorney General Pam Bondi opened up the first meeting of the Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias on Tuesday by hearing stories about how the Justice Department was weaponized by the Biden administration to go after Christians.

During the inaugural meeting, those in attendance shared examples of how the Biden administration &#8220;weaponized&#8221; government to go after Christian colleges and federal employees who refused the COVID vaccine for religious reasons.
“As shown by our victims’ stories today, Biden’s Department of Justice abused and targeted peaceful Christians while ignoring violent, anti-Christian offenses,” Bondi said. “Thanks to President Trump, we have ended those abuses, and we will continue to work closely with every member of this Task Force to protect every American’s right to speak and worship freely.”
In her opening remarks, Bondi added that protecting the First Amendment would be a high priority for the administration.
“The First Amendment isn&#8217;t just a line in the Constitution, it&#8217;s the cornerstone of our American liberty. It guarantees every citizen the right to speak freely, worship freely, and live according to their conscience without government interference,” she said. “Protecting Christians from bias is not favoritism, it&#8217;s upholding the rule of law and fulfilling the constitutional promise.”

Other admin officials who attended the meeting included FBI Director Kash Patel, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
During the meeting, the task force heard from lawyer Michael Farris, who is represented the Cornerstone Church as it was under investigation by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for an alleged Johnson Amendment violation. The Johnson Amendment is a decades old provision in federal law that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-north-carolina-republican-leads-effort-to-restore-free-speech-for-pastors-churches" target="_blank" rel="noopener">allows pastors</a> to be prosecuted for making political statements from the pulpit.
The panel also heard from Phil Mendes, a Navy Seal who was relieved of duty by the Department of Defense after it denied his request for a religious exemption to the COVID vaccine.
During his 2024 campaign, Trump pledged to reverse many of the actions taken by the Biden administration, including the aggressive prosecutions of peaceful Christian pro-life protesters outside of abortion facilities. Multiple pro-lifers were sent to federal prison for their participation in peaceful protests after trials that were <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-89-year-old-woman-convicted-faces-over-a-decade-in-prison-for-peaceful-pro-life-protest" target="_blank" rel="noopener">covered extensively</a> by The Daily Wire.
&#8220;Those convicted included a Catholic priest and 75-year-old grandmother, as well as an 87-year-old woman and a father of 11 children who were arrested 18 months after praying and singing hymns outside an abortion facility in Tennessee as a part of a politically motivated prosecution campaign by the Biden Administration,&#8221; Trump wrote in his executive order creating the task force earlier this month.

Warren was not alone in her defense of Biden: a majority of Democrats and media personalities — some of whom have since written books detailing Biden&#8217;s obvious cognitive decline despite aiding in covering it up at the time — tried to blame Republicans and right-leaning media and accused them of making Biden look impaired when he really wasn&#8217;t.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) criticized President Donald Trump on Thursday after he called for the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates – seven months after Warren told the Federal Reserve the same.
Warren appeared on CNBC on Thursday and said that Trump was risking a market “crash” after he posted on Truth Social that the Federal Reserve chairman’s “termination cannot come fast enough!” Trump has expressed frustration with the Fed chairman, Jerome Powell, in recent days over the level of the federal funds rate.
Warren said that Trump’s post was a threat to fire Powell. As an independent agency, the Federal Reserve’s chairman can only be removed by the president “for cause,” according to a 1935 Supreme Court ruling. “For cause” is typically interpreted to exclude disagreements over monetary policy.
“Understand this: if Chairman Powell can be fired by the president of the United States, it will crash the markets in the United States,” Warren said. “The infrastructure that keeps this stock market strong – and therefore a big part of our economy strong, and therefore a big part of the world economy strong – is the idea that the big pieces move independent of the politics, that somebody is making his/their/her best decisions economically and independently.”
“If interest rates in the United States are subject to a president who just wants to wave his magic wand, this doesn&#8217;t distinguish us then from any other two bit dictatorship around the world,” she added.

Under the Biden administration, Warren, now the top-ranking Democrat on the Senate Banking Committee, repeatedly pushed Powell to cut interest rates despite high levels of inflation. She argued that interest rates needed to come down to make housing more affordable.
In one of those letters sent in September, Warren pushed the Federal Reserve to cut the federal funds rate by “75 basis points.” “If the Fed is too cautious in cutting rates, it would needlessly risk our economy heading towards a recession,” the <a href="https://www.warren.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/warren_hickenlooper_whitehouse_letter_to_fed_re_september_rate_cut.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> said.
Trump on Thursday appeared to vent in a Truth Social <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114352766082542122" target="_blank" rel="noopener">post</a> about the federal funds rate, which is set by the Federal Open Market Committee and influences other interest rates. The president suggested that Powell was acting late to cut rates as the European Central Bank prepares to cut its own interest rates.
“The ECB is expected to cut interest rates for the 7th time, and yet, ‘Too Late’ Jerome Powell of the Fed, who is always TOO LATE AND WRONG, yesterday issued a report which was another, and typical, complete ‘mess!’ Trump posted. “Oil prices are down, groceries (even eggs!) are down, and the USA is getting RICH ON TARIFFS.”
“Too Late should have lowered Interest Rates, like the ECB, long ago, but he should certainly lower them now. Powell’s termination cannot come fast enough!” Trump wrote.

Sanders then pivoted to suggest that if illegal immigrants could be deported, it would not be long before citizens could also be deported.
&#8220;If they can do it to them, if they can snatch students off the street without any pushback or recourse, they will do it to any of us,&#8221; she declared. &#8220;To be very clear, it&#8217;s going to be the people of color, and vulnerable communities that are next in line.&#8221;
Rep. Glenn Ivey (D-MD) agreed with Sanders&#8217; assessment, saying that was why the black community appeared largely supportive of bringing Abrego-Garcia back to the United States.
