A new proposal from Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) seeks to keep gender-confused boys off of girls&#8217; sports teams and out of their locker rooms.  
The <a href="https://www.blackburn.senate.gov/services/files/9DB266B1-2A2D-4FCF-B948-A031AC31AB5C">bill</a> introduced Tuesday by Blackburn and 10 other GOP senators would tie federal funding to whether schools protect girls from discrimination based on biological reality. The bill seeks to codify language into federal law that makes it clear that discrimination protections under Title IX are based on sex and not sexual orientation or so-called gender identity. 
“The Biden administration weaponized Title IX to force women to compete with men in sports and allow men to invade women’s spaces,” Blackburn told The Daily Wire. “Thankfully, President Trump restored common sense in Title IX, and now Congress must codify these protections for women into law to prevent future abuse.”
Blackburn’s proposal, called the “Title IX Clarification Act,” would ensure that discrimination under the provision is based “on the biological reality of sex” and would make federal funding contingent on recognizing that understanding. 
The bill’s introduction comes amid a nationwide controversy fueled by WNBA player Sophie Cunningham’s stance on keeping gender-confused boys out of girls&#8217; sports. 
“I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn’t have to go against biological men,” Cunningham said in a recent interview with ESPN, drawing backlash from fellow WNBA players and coaches.
Her comments have angered WNBA fans and even led to pro-trans advocacy from Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve, who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/wnba-coach-protests-sophie-cunningham-with-pro-trans-shirt?author=Drew+Berkemeyer&amp;category=undefined&amp;elementPosition=10&amp;row=3&amp;rowHeadline=Latest+News&amp;rowType=Vertical+Carousel&amp;title=WNBA+Coach+Protests+Sophie+Cunningham+With+Pro-Trans+Shirt">recently</a> wore a “Trans Kids Belong” shirt during a game. 
The Biden administration attempted to <a href="https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2021/03/11/2021-05200/guaranteeing-an-educational-environment-free-from-discrimination-on-the-basis-of-sex-including">expand</a> the traditional understanding of Title IX to include “gender identity” as being protected under the definition of sex. Critics argued that interpretation would force schools from keeping sports teams, bathrooms, and locker rooms separate on the basis of sex. 
Shortly after taking office, President Donald Trump officially <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/initial-rescissions-of-harmful-executive-orders-and-actions/">rescinded</a> Biden’s interpretation of Title IX and <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/defending-women-from-gender-ideology-extremism-and-restoring-biological-truth-to-the-federal-government/">directed</a> federal agencies to protect from sex-based discrimination, not gender identity. The Supreme Court <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/supreme-court-protects-womens-sports-in-landmark-ruling">recently held</a> in a landmark decision that states did not violate Title IX if they had laws in place keeping boys out of girls’ sports. 
“They may determine eligibility for women’s and girls’ sports based on biological sex,” Justice Kavanaugh wrote. “The Constitution and Title IX do not require an overhaul of women’s and girls’ sports throughout America.”
Blackburn said her legislation would bring common sense back to federal discrimination law. 
“The Title IX Clarification Act would ensure that common sense, not leftist ideology, governs federal education funding tied to Title IX requirements to protect young women,” she said. 
Other lawmakers backing the proposal are Senators Katie Britt (R-AL), Jim Justice (R-WV), Ted Budd (R-NC), Jim Risch (R-ID), Mike Crapo (R-ID), Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), Rick Scott (R-FL), Pete Ricketts (R-NE), Steve Daines (R-MT), and Tim Sheehy (R-MT).
A House version of the proposal was introduced in May 2026 by Rep. Jodey Arrington (R-TX) and advanced through the Committee on Education and Workforce. It is backed by conservative groups like the Family Research Council, Alliance Defending Freedom, and the American Principles Project.

President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to the country after tens of thousands of African migrants stormed across the Moroccan border into the Spanish territory of Ceuta on Thursday. 
“It’s terrible. Remember that picture. That’s going to be us in three years if the wrong side gets in,” Trump <a href="https://x.com/JacquiHeinrich/status/2083161441268297975">said</a> during a phone interview with Fox News reporter Jacqui Heinrich on Friday morning. “If the Democrats get in, you will not live a very good life.”
Trump&#8217;s comments came after almost 50,000 migrants rushed across the border into Ceuta, a Spanish territory on the tip of Morocco, bringing widespread chaos and unrest. At least <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/34-dead-after-tens-of-thousands-of-migrants-invade-spain">34 people died</a> as thousands of migrants, mostly young men, attempted to swim or force their way into Ceuta. 
The migrants, emboldened by the lax immigration policies of leftist Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, brought chaos to the streets of Ceuta, causing fear among locals who were overwhelmed by the flood. 
The images were reminiscent of <a href="https://x.com/JennieSTaer/status/1770886341879885952">video</a> captured during the Biden administration of a large mob of young men breaking down razor wire and fencing to storm past Texas National Guard troops stationed in El Paso. Over seven million illegal immigrants from all over the world crossed the United States border during President Joe Biden’s presidency. 
Many other Republicans echoed Trump’s comments in response to the scenes of chaos from Spain.

The Trump administration will pay seven-figures to a Christian father whose home was raided nearly four years ago by heavily armed FBI agents as part of former President Joe Biden’s crackdown on peaceful pro-life protesters. 
The settlement between pro-life advocate Paul Vaughn and the Justice Department is a remarkable reversal after the father of 11 once faced over a decade in prison due to the charges brought by Biden&#8217;s DOJ. The settlement was announced Tuesday by the Thomas More Society, a religious liberty law firm that represented Vaughn throughout his battle with the federal government. 
Vaughn’s Centerville, Tennessee, home was raided by gun-toting FBI agents in October 2022 over his involvement in a March 2021 protest that included praying and hymn singing at a local abortion facility. As several FBI agents corralled his children getting ready for school, other agents took Vaughn into custody in a dramatic show of force. 
“From the very moment that I was handcuffed and put in the back of the car, they showed me on their screen that it was a FACE Act violation, I knew from that moment on that it was political. But I knew something more than that,” Vaughn told The Daily Wire in an interview. “I knew that it was God telling a story, and that it wasn&#8217;t my story, and therefore, the responsibility wasn&#8217;t me. And so I trusted in Him.”
The FACE Act is a Clinton-era law used overwhelmingly against pro-life protesters if they are seen as impeding access to an abortion facility. Under Biden, prosecutors paired it with the hefty conspiracy against civil rights charge that could bring a prison term of more than 10 years. 
Pardoned alongside nearly two dozen other pro-life advocates by President Donald Trump in January 2025, Vaughn sued the government for its heavy-handed prosecution of him. The settlement includes the DOJ admitting it abused its power and concludes the suit.

In one email, Biden official Sanjay Patel wrote that the “unspoken reason” the FBI was going to stage dramatic arrests rather than allow self-surrender was because “the FBI really likes to make arrests.”
Vaughn, who ended up being sentenced to six months of house arrest, said the ordeal strengthened his faith and Christian convictions. 
“The important thing that we have is we have a duty to walk humbly, to love justice, and to seek mercy,” he told The Daily Wire. “Regardless of whether there&#8217;s people trying to write injustices or whether people that are trying to persecute and cause more injustice are Christian responsibilities the same.”
Steve Crampton, a lawyer with the Thomas More Society who defended Vaughn, praised the Trump administration&#8217;s handling of Biden’s pro-life prosecutions. He noted that it would not surprise him if other settlements between pro-lifers and the Justice Department were announced in the coming months. 
He told The Daily Wire that the DOJ under Trump was “genuinely interested in trying to right the wrongs of previous administrations” and “trying to do what they can to restore some respect for the rule of law.”

Pro-abortion organizations provided dossiers to the Biden DOJ with personal information and pictures of pro-life activists who were not yet charged with any crimes, but were later arrested by the FBI.
&#8220;I think there&#8217;s no question that this was a politicized prosecution of Paul and the others,” Crampton added. “This was a vindictive set of prosecutions meant purely to punish and deter pro-lifers from ever going back out again.”
Crampton said that Congress needed to act to repeal the FACE Act. The House Judiciary Committee approved a repeal of the FACE Act last year, but the legislation has stalled out. 
“That is an abhorrent law, it is without constitutional support for its passage in the first place,” he said. “And it is a horrific weapon that can and probably will be used again to cudgel pro-lifers in the future if we don&#8217;t take care of it now.”
While noting that the settlement was a big win, Crampton said the Biden prosecutions reminded Americans of their need to stay vigilant about government overreach. 
“We can never go to sleep,” he said. “If we don&#8217;t watch the ones that are watching us effectively, our federal overseers, then we have no one to blame but ourselves.”

Newly released audio recordings of Joe Biden reveal the former president was aware that material he had stored in his basement was classified, and discussed such materials.
In the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZ-4dWVwWsFI">audio</a>, which was obtained and released by the Oversight Project after a legal battle, Biden told his ghostwriter Mark Zwonitzer in 2017 that he found documents &#8220;downstairs&#8221; and acknowledged multiple times that some of the material may be or is &#8220;<a href="https://static.itsyourgov.org/Biden_Zwonitzer_Interview_Transcripts.pdf">classified</a>.&#8221;
“So this was, I early on, um, in ’09 I just found all the classified stuff downstairs,” Biden tells Zwonitzer in one portion of the audio.
“Some of this may be classified so be careful with it,” he says at another point. “I’m not sure … It’s not marked classified but —”
&#8220;The next thing I have here is, um, this is classified …” Biden also says to Zwonitzer.
Additionally, Biden often sounded uncertain and confused in the audio. In one portion of the conversations, Biden told his ghostwriter, “Alright — what was I going to ask you? Something else … Uh … um. Oh gosh. I can’t think of anything else.”
“Hang on a second,” he says in another conversation. “Um … it’s confusing me.&#8221;
The audio reveals that Biden knew he possessed potentially classified material, even though Special Counsel Robert Hur declined to prosecute him, concluding that a jury would likely view Biden as a &#8220;sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.&#8221;
By contrast, President Donald Trump was aggressively prosecuted and hauled into court for his supposed mishandling of classified docs. That case was dismissed by a judge due to an unconstitutional appointment by Special Counsel Jack Smith and later dropped by the Department of Justice after Trump was elected president in 2024.
The tapes prove that Biden not only lied when he previously claimed that he &#8220;did not share classified information” with his ghostwriter, but also that the White House &#8220;orchestrated a willful coverup of the facts to the American people when they tried to discredit the Hur report in 2024,&#8221; a press release from the Oversight Project said.
“Two and a half years ago, the Oversight Project began a lonely project trying to get access to Biden’s ghostwriter tapes where he disclosed classified information to writer Mark Zwonitzer. To date, Biden has paid zero consequences for betrayal of the country,&#8221; Oversight Project Vice President of Litigation Jeff Clark said in a statement sent to The Daily Wire.
In the audio tapes, Clark said, &#8220;Biden clearly gives away secret after secret to someone not authorized to hold such secrets&#8221; and did all of that for &#8220;personal and family profit to the tune of $8 million.&#8221;
&#8220;Americans want to see accountability,&#8221; Clark added. &#8220;Now you know why Biden’s lawyers fought so hard to keep these tapes and transcripts out of the public’s watchful eye.&#8221;

The Biden White House attempted to thwart the Trump administration&#8217;s mass deportation campaign before it even commenced, a newly-released bombshell memo shows.
Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-Missouri) released the presidential memorandum, dated January 2, 2024,  that senior advisors within the Biden administration produced for then-President Joe Biden advising him &#8220;to expand TPS [Temporary Protected Status] before YOU leave office.&#8221;
&#8220;The memo, which appears to be misdated, is from Biden&#8217;s &#8216;Senior Advisors&#8217; in the waning days of his lame duck presidency. It was the pitch to expand TPS &#8216;before YOU leave office.&#8217; His team was searching for ways to lock in his mass-migration regime before Trump took power,&#8221; Schmitt wrote in an X post Thursday.
&#8220;TPS gives foreign nationals work permits and protection from deportation. A &#8216;redesignation&#8217; expands that shield to newly arrived migrants. Biden’s team was considering making millions more eligible—then leaving President Trump to process the claims,&#8221; the senator said.

The Biden administration advisors pointed to the then-president&#8217;s expansion of temporary protected status to shield from deportation foreign nationals from seven different countries: Afghanistan, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Burma, Lebanon, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Haiti, according to the memo.
By the time Biden was preparing to leave office, the administration was overseeing the protected status of roughly 1.2 million people from 16 different countries, the memo stated. The advisors raised concerns about the expiration of TPS for those individuals come &#8220;2025 or early 2026&#8221; and recommended that two new countries, Ecuador and Guatemala, be added.
The addition of Ecuador and Guatemala would mean more than two million migrants would be shielded from deportation, according to the memo.
&#8220;Stakeholders argue that granting TPS will potentially protect many vulnerable people from President-elect Trump&#8217;s planned mass deportations, including some who live in &#8216;mixed status&#8217; families with U.S. citizens. They argue that those protections are likely to hold in court, and they are prepared to litigate efforts to terminate or slow down the implementation of TPS for specified nations by the Trump Administration,&#8221; the memo read.
&#8220;While it is impossible to predict with certainty the likelihood of success of any future litigation, prior Federal litigation brought by advocates during the first Trump Administration was successful in halting the Trump Administration&#8217;s efforts to terminate TPS, though that was due in large part to the prior Administration&#8217;s failure to produce a factual record in support of termination, which is something that could be rectified,&#8221; it added.
The memo also pointed to growing criticism of Biden&#8217;s expansion of TPS by Republicans arguing the program has become &#8220;a form of amnesty&#8221; that encourages more illegal immigration.
&#8220;Should the Secretary of Homeland Security redesignate Venezuelan nationals for TPS, Republicans are likely to argue that YOU provided amnesty to Tren de Aragua gang members,&#8221; the memo noted.

President Donald Trump may be looking at potential strikes on another growing Islamic terrorist hotbed in the coming weeks — this time in the West African nation of Mali.
The Trump administration has reportedly been considering strikes against Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM), an Al Qaeda-linked militant group operating in the Sahel region that has attacked both local militias and international forces and has endeavored to enforce strict Islamic law throughout its areas of control.
The Washington Post <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2026/07/22/trump-administration-weighs-military-options-mali-officials-say/">reported</a> on Wednesday that the Trump administration is divided on military action — and said that one of those in favor of such is the current National Security Council’s senior director for counterterrorism, Sebastian Gorka.
One official did tell the outlet that, despite that division, the United States had been encouraging other nations in the region &#8220;to purchase U.S. equipment and services to support their war efforts against the terrorists.&#8221;
The entire region has been in a state of upheaval in recent years as a series of Russia-backed coups upended democratically elected governments in Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger — and the three nations have increasingly rejected ties with Western nations, instead joining together as The Alliance of Sahel States.
As The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/they-kicked-america-out-now-theyre-being-hunted-by-jihadists">previously reported</a>, Niger overtly rejected the United States when President Joe Biden&#8217;s administration delivered an ultimatum just as the West African nation was inking a deal to provide Iran with Uranium. The Biden administration demanded that Niger cut ties with Russia and Iran, but the military junta running things at the time was disinclined to acquiesce. Instead, in addition to refusing Biden&#8217;s ultimatum, Niger ousted all remaining American military assets from the country — including a drone base that was used to target terrorists in the region.
Zineb Riboua, a research fellow at the Hudson Institute’s Center for Peace and Security in the Middle East, told The Daily Wire that the Biden administration&#8217;s presentation may have been the crux of the problem: &#8220;Instead of presenting it as an ultimatum, they could have presented an alternative. Instead of doing a uranium deal with Iran, why don’t you do one with the United States, and you get a school program or something in Niger, something they don’t have.&#8221;
But once the United States was gone, it was soon quickly apparent that the Russian security forces with whom they&#8217;d cast their lots were more of a liability than an asset. As previously reported, &#8220;The Russians were killing untold numbers of civilians and still somehow managing to cede ground to the jihadists. In fact, in Burkina Faso and Mali, the Russians and government forces actually killed more civilians last year than the jihadists.&#8221;
The situation has only deteriorated in the years since, leading to the current consideration of possible military action.
&#8220;We urge regional partners and NATO allies to support the Alliance of Sahel States in their war against JNIM and ISIS,&#8221; the Trump administration official told The Washington Post, noting that partnership with Russia had clearly only allowed the terrorist factions to fester and grow. &#8220;We hope that other African nations take note of Russia’s terrible performance in combating terrorism.&#8221;
When asked, Secretary of State Marco Rubio did not say whether he supported military action. Instead, the State Department said that the United States &#8220;unequivocally condemns the terrorist activity in Mali.&#8221;

The threats to President Donald Trump and his administration are growing rapidly.
The Secret Service has investigated approximately 10,000 threats against its protectees, including President Trump, in the first half of this year, the head of the agency revealed Wednesday, <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/07/23/us-news/threats-to-us-officials-reach-unprecedented-numbers-ahead-of-rescheduled-white-house-correspondents-dinner-secret-service-boss-says/">according</a> to The New York Post.
“The numbers are numbers that this agency and certainly I have never seen in my 24-year career,” Secret Service Director Sean Curran told reporters, painting a chilling picture of an increasingly hostile political environment. In the first half of 2025, the agency opened roughly 7,000 cases.
The alarming surge comes ahead of Friday night’s rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Dinner at the Waldorf Astoria in Washington, D.C., which was forced to move after suspect Cole Allen stormed an April checkpoint packed with guns and knives, allegedly hellbent on killing Trump and other administration officials.
Curran defended the security apparatus, insisting “the system worked” when agents stopped Allen before he could make it in the ballroom. Yet, the relentless barrage of target-painting on the president’s back raises urgent questions about the toxic political atmosphere.
The Secret Service’s massive threat log arrives after years of terrifying, real-world attempts on Trump’s life. From a 2016 gun-grab attempt in Las Vegas and a 2017 forklift ramming attack in North Dakota, to the horrific July 2024 Butler, Pennsylvania, rally shooting, and Ryan Routh’s Florida golf course ambush, the dangers have hit unprecedented highs. Add in thwarted international assassination schemes from Iran and ISIS, and the target on Trump remains massive.

Democrat leaders have repeatedly branded Trump an &#8220;existential threat,&#8221; a &#8220;fascist,&#8221; and an &#8220;authoritarian.&#8221; Former President Joe Biden once boasted he’d take Trump &#8220;behind the gym and beat the hell out of him,&#8221; and infamously <a href="https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/biden-says-it-was-mistake-to-say-he-wanted-to-put-bulls-eye-on-trump-during-donor-phone-call">declared</a> &#8220;it’s time to put Trump in a bullseye&#8221; in a phone call with donors right before the Butler shooting. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) publicly egged on mobs to harass administration officials, telling crowds, &#8220;You push back on them &#8230; tell them they&#8217;re not welcome.&#8221;
The hostile drumbeat from top Democrats has only grown louder:

Following a major legal victory from a watchdog group, audio recordings of former President Joe Biden&#8217;s conversations with his memoir ghostwriter — which Special Counsel Robert Hur obtained during his classified-documents investigation — could be released as soon as August 3.
The U.S. Court of Appeals late Monday night rejected Biden&#8217;s emergency request to prevent the release of audio recordings of his conversations with ghostwriter Mark Zwonitzer. The recordings, made while Zwonitzer was helping Biden write his memoir &#8220;Promise Me, Dad,&#8221; were obtained by Hur as part of his investigation into Biden&#8217;s handling of classified documents.
The Oversight Project, a conservative government accountability organization affiliated with the Heritage Foundation, is suing for the release of the ghostwriter tapes. In a statement sent to The Daily Wire, the group celebrated the win, stressing that the &#8220;American people deserve to know who was really running the White House&#8221; during the Biden years.
Last year, the Oversight Project secured the release of separate audio of Biden’s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/audio-of-bidens-special-counsel-interview-is-out-and-its-painful-to-listen-to">interview</a> with Hur, which revealed Biden’s shocking mental decline that the group said &#8220;gave rise to the &#8216;autopen presidency.'&#8221; The former president reportedly used an autopen to sign pardons and other official documents while in office, apparently due to this mental decline. Congressional Republicans and the Trump administration have launched investigations into Biden&#8217;s use of the autopen, which remain ongoing.
&#8220;What&#8217;s striking is how desperately Biden fought to keep these conversations sealed, knowing full well they&#8217;d reveal more about his capacity than the defenders of the Autopen Presidency wanted to admit,&#8221; Vice President of Litigation Jeff Clark <a href="https://itsyourgov.org/press/oversight-project-secures-win-against-autopen-biden-over-release-of-tapes">said</a> in a statement. &#8220;The claim that the tapes were private family diaries or heirlooms is risible. Biden made $8 million from the book advance. He eventually used the book to springboard to a new chapter in his political career — one that even his lesser 2017 level of senility should have prevented from ever getting off the ground.&#8221;
The recordings became a focal point after Hur cited them in his report to explain why he&#8217;d declined to prosecute Biden. In the report, Hur described Biden as &#8220;a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.&#8221;
&#8220;This isn&#8217;t just about memoirs; it&#8217;s about whether Americans deserve to know who&#8217;s really running things,&#8221; Clark added. &#8220;The tapes will speak for themselves. Strap in for August.”
Oversight Project President Mike Howell said in a statement that the &#8220;evidence is stacking up that the sin was corporate in that the Democrat establishment, media, and power brokers knew that Biden wasn’t capable of being president but they pushed him anyways in favor of an unconstitutional governing strategy of rule by commission via a mechanical autopen device.&#8221;
Unless Biden successfully obtains further relief from the courts before August 3, the recordings are expected to be released after the court&#8217;s temporary stay expires.

Former President Joe Biden <a href="https://x.com/JoeBiden/status/2077350082702123105?s=20">teased</a> his long-awaited memoir on Wednesday, now set to hit shelves after the midterm elections. The delayed release comes after Democrats raised concerns that publishing the book before Election Day could hurt the party at the ballot box.
“Promise Me, America” is scheduled for release on Nov. 17. Biden, who has fallen out of favor with many Democrats after Trump’s triumphant return to the White House, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/joe-biden-has-a-midterm-surprise-in-store-for-democrats">previously suggested</a> the book would be released before the November election. 
<a href="https://promisemeamerica.com/">A website</a> promoting the tell-all promises a “candid and revealing” account of the “deeply agonizing calculation” behind Biden’s decision to drop out of the 2024 presidential race. 
“Since I left the presidency, I&#8217;ve had a lot of people ask me, ‘Joe, what have you been doing?’” Biden said in the announcement while sitting in a chair. “I&#8217;ve been spending a lot of time with my family. I&#8217;m dealing with a cancer diagnosis, and I&#8217;ve been getting treatment. It&#8217;s been going really well.”
In the two-minute trailer, the former president said the memoir will chronicle the highs and lows of his presidency, which included decades-high inflation, record illegal border crossings, and new wars erupting in Europe and the Middle East.
“It&#8217;s about the challenges we faced as a nation, about the decisions I made, and why I made them. Leading the country through COVID, rebuilding our economy, and restoring our democracy after the attack on January 6th, ending our nation&#8217;s longest-running war in Afghanistan, strengthening NATO, and supporting Ukraine.” 
Conservative critics quickly mocked the book on social media, with some questioning whether Biden, 83, actually wrote it himself.
“I can’t believe the autopen wrote a whole book,” <a href="https://x.com/benshapiro/status/2077385062341812381?s=20">said</a> Ben Shapiro, The Daily Wire Editor Emeritus, a sentiment echoed by reality TV star Spencer Pratt.
&#8220;This guy couldn&#8217;t even sign his own name. He&#8217;s not writing books. LMAO,&#8221; Pratt <a href="https://x.com/spencerpratt/status/2077374853976391779?s=20">said</a>. &#8220;Politicians write books to launder money. Nobody wants to read this, but the corrupt NGOs he provided for as President will buy up 100K copies and burn &#8217;em to hold up their end of the bribes.
In June, Biden teased that the book was set for a September release date, a move that would’ve injected the former president into the political spotlight.
Despite the delay, Biden’s memoir is expected to arrive not long after former first lady Jill Biden’s book, which included revelations that angered parts of the Democratic establishment. In recent interviews promoting her memoir, Jill Biden said she was frightened by her husband’s June 2024 debate performance against President Donald Trump, recalling that she feared he may have been experiencing a medical emergency.

Never. I don’t know what happened. As I watched it, I said, ‘Oh my God, he’s having a stroke.’ And it scared me to death.”
Those comments came more than a year after Biden disclosed that he had been diagnosed with Stage IV prostate cancer that had spread to his bones, a diagnosis that fueled renewed scrutiny over his health and questions about the transparency surrounding his condition while in office.
“The biggest lesson for us, I think, was that if you don’t explain something well enough, then the question won’t go away,” Jill Biden <a href="https://apnews.com/article/joe-biden-memoir-promise-me-america-fc71dd2c1da239995f606b968c7eaac4">wrote</a> in her memoir. “There was never a satisfying enough explanation offered for Joe’s debate performance, and a lot of people never got over it.”

It looks like we finally found something we can all agree on. Mitch McConnell’s time in politics has come to a close. Tragically, he is not fit to serve out the remainder of his term.
I’m not going to play the fool’s game of “but he’s only x years older than this or that competent politician.” Henry Kissinger and Thomas Sowell remained sharp well into their 90s. Most people do not. You don’t judge a person’s mental competency solely based on how many years they’ve been alive. You judge based on what you can see.
Everyone seems to understand that the empirical evidence reflects McConnell’s profound mental and physical decline.
But I wonder, where was all this agreement four years ago when Joe Biden, a veritable corpse, was running the entire country?
Behind closed doors, the president was reciting Shakespeare while juggling with his eyebrows. It was only when all the cameras showed up that he turned into a gaffe machine who couldn’t read a teleprompter. That&#8217;s a mean case of stage fright for a politician who&#8217;s been in the game for 53 years.
And, of course, our skeptical media bought that, no questions asked.
Alex Thompson, a White House correspondent for Politico during the Biden administration, recently co-authored a <a href="https://sites.prh.com/originalsin/">book</a> detailing the cover-up of Biden’s mental decline. Conveniently, this book comes long after the decline was obvious, and Biden is no longer running for office.
Thompson has <a href="https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/business/story/2025-05-20/jake-tapper-defends-original-sin-biden-cover-up-media-role">insisted</a> that the media was simply “lied to” about the president&#8217;s mental state. News flash: if I can see the decline on my television, it shouldn’t take you five years to figure it out when it’s quite literally your entire job to track his affairs.
What kind of media waits for the White House&#8217;s permission before holding it accountable? But don&#8217;t worry, they’re here now to bravely stand for the truth. As usual, they&#8217;re a day late and a dollar short.
And then there was a cadre of Biden&#8217;s fellow Democrats. In a debate with Ron DeSantis, California Governor Gavin Newsom (one of the top Democratic contenders for president in 2028) insisted that the president was perfectly sharp and on top of everything.
Would — or should — an aspiring president take at face value that “behind closed doors,” Chinese President Xi Jinping has no plans to invade Taiwan, he’s simply looking to grab a beer with Lai Ching-te? And if not, which means he was lying, why should the American people place their trust in a man who lies through his teeth about something as consequential as the mental state of their own president?
So which is it? Is he too foolish to be president or too dishonest? Of course, nobody is asking this question. It’s much more interesting to keep beating the dead horse that is McConnell’s competency.
This is not a matter of respect for the statesman that Joe Biden used to be. The squirrely nature of that characterization aside, respect does not demand dishonesty.
Mitch McConnell was perhaps the most effective legislator of my lifetime. He played an instrumental role in seating a Republican majority on the court. He forced significant concessions from the Democratic majority during the Obama administration (including dropping the socialized insurance option) and blocked progressive climate legislation.
He guided the clown show that is the congressional Republicans into confirming three conservative Supreme Court Justices and 54 appeals court justices in a single presidential term, orchestrated the passage of 2017 tax reform, and spearheaded one of the only unanimous consequential legislative packages in modern history.
His legacy is unmatched.
Such is my tribute to his tremendous influence and my respect for the great man. But he&#8217;s too old to be in office. To pretend otherwise would not be an act of respect towards him, but an act of disrespect towards his constituency.
When I last saw Senator McConnell, he required the assistance of several men simply to move in and out of the chamber. He never spoke a word despite being addressed directly by several other Senators. This was shortly before his recent hospitalization.
But McConnell is taking hits left and right from the media. And therein lies the distinction: left and right. The conservative press never tried to run interference for the man, and they certainly never tried to invalidate legitimate depictions of his decline.
In 2023, MS NOW published an <a href="https://www.ms.now/opinion/msnbc-opinion/mitch-mcconnell-second-freeze-kentucky-rcna102599">op-ed</a> insisting that McConnell was unfit to serve and that he step down immediately. They were <a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/2023/08/mitch-mcconnell-needs-to-step-aside">joined in their concerns</a> by the National Review, one of the most prominent outlets on the American right, which called for McConnell to step down from leadership positions. 
Only when Biden decided to shoot himself in the foot on live television in front of the entire country did it start to become apparent that he was a lost cause, and the media started to turn on him. After years of lying to the American people, it was no longer taboo for Thompson to publish his book.
As members of the press, our first responsibility is to the American public. A press that shirks that responsibility for political gain disgraces the very people it’s meant to serve.

Former President Joe Biden spoke at the Maryland Democratic Party&#8217;s Fight Back and Win Summit in Baltimore — and after shouting and mumbling through his remarks, he appeared to have some difficulty finding his way off the stage.
Biden&#8217;s typical speech patterns have not changed much since he left the White House in early 2025, as he alternately addressed the crowd calmly and raised his voice to a shout, at seemingly random intervals.

Throughout the speech the former president took credit for the economy and accused Trump of taking on &#8220;vanity projects&#8221; that would only benefit him.
&#8220;Have you noticed that Americans are saying the economy under the Biden administration is a hell of a lot better than under Trump?” Biden asked. &#8220;It’s not just his vanity projects – tearing down the East Wing of the White House making room for his ballroom. Putting his name on the Kennedy Center. Building an arch in his own honor. Even hiring his own pool guy to fix the reflecting pool. Woah – what a loser.&#8221;
Biden mumbled through some more of his comments, and then turned to exit the stage. Pointing his finger to the left and then to the right, Biden appeared confused as to which direction he was supposed to go to exit the stage. After a momentary pause, he turned his back on the audience and walked away from the lectern.
Biden had similar difficulty at the recent grand opening of former President Barack Obama&#8217;s library and presidential center in Chicago, briefly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-joe-biden-gets-lost-onstage-at-obama-library-opening">scanning the crowd</a> before asking where his granddaughter was sitting and then wandering off the stage.
