Aaron Carter’s mother has released graphic photos from the scene of his death as a ploy to motivate law enforcement to investigate the incident further.

The 34-year-old singer was found dead in his bathtub in November 2022. Carter’s body was discovered by his housekeeper. Police were called to the scene, where they found several cans of compressed air and bottles of prescription pills.

Though the cops did not suspect foul play, Carter’s mother, Jane Schneck, disagrees and is taking drastic measures to make her point known. She caused an uproar on social media by posting disturbing photos from the scene of her son’s death, including a picture of the bathtub where Carter died filled with discolored water, likely because the body had started decomposing.

Other images show towels sprawled across the bathroom floor and more discolored water on the floor. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office previously confirmed that Carter did not die from drowning because he had no water in his lungs. Carter’s cause of death has not been determined as authorities are still waiting for toxicology results.

“I want to share these death scene photos with you all because the coroner wrote it off as an accidental drug overdose. They never investigated it as a possible crime scene because of his addiction past,” Schneck shared on Facebook, noting that the police “allowed people to go in and out” and were “tromping” through the alleged crime scene.

“Aaron had a lot of death threats and many many people who were making his life miserable,” the singer’s mother continued.

“I’m totally supported by the family and friends who know I had to post the awful photos,” Schneck wrote. “… Because of my son’s mental illness and prescription drug issues they just wanted it to be something easy that they didn’t have the time or inclination to address.”

“We want answers … We want justice … There are people who must be held accountable,” she concluded.

Carter struggled with both addiction and mental health issues prior to his death. During an interview a few days before his death, the younger brother of Backstreet Boys performer Nick Carter said that he was staying “California sober,” meaning he avoided drugs and alcohol except for marijuana.

The singer entered rehab in September 2022 in an attempt to regain custody of his 1-year-old son Prince.

“I decided to enroll myself into that program. This will be my fifth time in rehabilitation, mainly to take care of aftercare,” he told The Sun at the time. “There’s been no relapses. I haven’t had any relapses … it’s just triggers are big right now for me. You know, so, I just, I want my son back.”
