On Thursday, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) endorsed the chairman of the Wisconsin Democratic Party, who supports the hard-Left anti-Semites of his party and is a devotee of DEI policies, to head the Democratic National Committee.

He only voted against Barack Obama’s approval of the Iran nuclear deal after he knew it would pass without his vote; he was silent as vicious anti-Semitic actions took place across American universities (“A recent congressional report shows how he texted then-Columbia president Minouche Shafik telling her to keep her head down as the noise is only coming from Republicans,” JNS <a href="https://www.jns.org/the-shomer-who-isnt-watching-out-for-the-jewish-community/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>); he refused to bring an anti-Semitism bill to the Senate floor; and he brazenly tried to interfere in Israeli politics by declaring elections should be held to oust Prime Minister Netanyahu, <a href="https://www.wsj.com/politics/policy/schumer-calls-for-end-of-netanyahu-led-government-in-israel-ebcb15c1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">saying</a> last March, in the middle of Israel’s desperate war against Hamas, “At this critical juncture, I believe a new election is the only way to allow for a healthy and open decision-making process about the future of Israel, at a time when so many Israelis have lost their confidence in the vision and direction of their government.”
“As one of the best state party chairs in the country, Ben possesses all the qualities Democrats across the country are looking for in our next DNC Chair,” Schumer <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2025/01/02/schumer-wikler-endorsement-dnc-chair/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a> of Ben Wikler. “He’s a tenacious organizer — one of the best organizers in the country — a proven fundraiser, a sharp communicator, and able to reach out to all segments of the Democratic Party. Most importantly, he knows how to win.”
Wikler has “called on Democratic leaders to give a larger platform to the anti-Israel wing of the party, arguing that the DNC made a strategic error by rejecting speakers from the anti-Israel &#8216;Uncommitted&#8217; movement at the convention last year, according to Jewish Insider,” The Washington Free Beacon <a href="https://freebeacon.com/democrats/schumer-pick-for-dnc-chair-is-soft-on-anti-israel-radicals/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a>. “In June, Wikler presided over the Wisconsin Democratic Party’s biannual convention, where members voted for a resolution to call for an unconditional ceasefire in Gaza and to axe any reference to the Hamas terrorist attack on Oct. 7 that sparked the Israel-Hamas war.”
“On Wikler’s watch, the Wisconsin Democratic Party in 2021 updated its platform to call itself the ‘party of diversity, equity, and inclusion,’ urged the decriminalization of ‘dangerous drug use,’ and called to ‘reimagine policing and criminal justice,’” the Beacon pointed out. “In August 2020, Wikler said the Kenosha police officer who shot Jacob Blake during an arrest attempt should be ‘investigated, tried, and convicted.’ Wikler called the shooting a ‘symptom of the deadly disease of white supremacy and racism.’’
Blake had pulled a knife on police before he was shot.

Fourteen-year-old student Rubi Vergara and substitute teacher Erin West have been identified as the two people killed by a 15-year-old female shooter who opened fire at Abundant Life Christian School (ALCS) in Madison, Wisconsin, on Monday morning.
Both Vergara and West died at the scene of the shooting from &#8220;firearm-related trauma,&#8221; the medical examiner&#8217;s office said on Wednesday, according to the <a href="https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/breaking/2024/12/18/first-victim-of-mondays-school-shooting-in-madison-has-been-identified/77076171007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Milwaukee Journal Sentinel</a>. The 15-year-old shooter, who will not be named per Daily Wire policy, opened fire with a handgun in a study hall classroom that had students from mixed grades. She killed Vergara and West and wounded six others before turning the gun on herself.
Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes said that police currently don&#8217;t have any indication that the shooter was targeting specific people. Barnes added that he did not know if the shooter was assigned to that particular study hall.
&#8220;The shooter made a decision to walk into that study hall with mixed high school students and open fire,” Barnes told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “Everyone in that room had an equal chance of dying that day.”
An <a href="https://gundersonfh.com/obituaries/Rubi-Patricia-Vergara?obId=34144130" target="_blank" rel="noopener">obituary</a> for Vergara posted on Wednesday evening said the high school freshman was &#8220;an avid reader, loved art, singing and playing keyboard in the family worship band.&#8221;
“Her gentle, loving, and kind heart was reflected in her smile. Rubi was a blessing to her class and our school. She was not only a good friend, but a great big sister,” ALCS said in a statement, according to <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/wisconsin-school-shooting-victims-named-teacher-erin-west-rubi-vergara-rcna184803" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NBC News</a>.

“Often seen with a book in hand, she had a gift for art and music. Yet, it was Rubi’s love for Jesus that shined brightest and she shared His love with others by volunteering faithfully,&#8221; the statement added. &#8220;She will be missed deeply by her teachers and fellow students.&#8221;
West, 42, of DeForest, Wisconsin, was a substitute teacher for three years before she took the full-time role as the in-house substitute teacher and coordinator for ALCS.
“She served our teachers and students with grace, humor, wisdom, and — most importantly — with the love of Jesus. Her loss is a painful and deep one and she will be greatly missed not just among our staff, but our entire ALCS family,” the school said.

A California man was detained by the FBI on Tuesday night after he communicated with the 15-year-old Wisconsin school shooter and allegedly plotted his own mass shooting at a government building, according to police, NBC News <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/california-man-told-wisconsin-shooting-suspect-plan-attack-government-rcna184794" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Authorities seized guns and ammunition from the Carlsbad, California, home of a 20-year-old male on Tuesday night. The seizure was authorized by a San Diego Superior Court judge who approved a &#8220;gun violence restraining order,&#8221; often called a &#8220;red flag&#8221; law, according to <a href="https://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/fbi-links-carlsbad-man-to-wisconsin-school-shooting-suspect/3704417/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NBC 7</a>.
The man was detained “after he was discovered plotting a mass shooting with the Madison Wisconsin shooter,” a Carlsbad police officer wrote in the gun order.
According to the order, the 20-year-old suspect &#8220;admitted to the FBI agents&#8221; that he talked with the teen girl before she killed two people and wounded several others at a Christian school in Madison, Wisconsin, on Monday morning. The man allegedly told her &#8220;that he would arm himself with explosives and a gun and that he would target a government building.&#8221; The Wisconsin school shooter was found at the scene with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police say that she used a handgun.
NBC News reported that it was unclear if the California man was arrested or charged after he was detained for questioning. How and why the man was allegedly in communication with the Wisconsin shooter also remains unclear. The Carlsbad Police Department assured the public on Wednesday night that &#8220;there is no threat to the Carlsbad community at this time.&#8221;

Madison, Wisconsin, authorities are still working to determine a motive for the shooting at Abundant Life Christian School. The 15-year-old girl opened fire in a study hall classroom that had students of mixed grades, killing a classmate and substitute teacher and wounding six others. Police said earlier this week that they are looking into writings possibly authored by the shooter. Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes told CNN on Tuesday that authorities “have been made aware of a manifesto … or some type of letter that’s been posted by someone who alleged to be her friend.”
Court records obtained by <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2024/12/17/madison-wisconsin-school-shooter-natalie-rupnow/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Washington Post</a> show that the shooter, who will not be named per Daily Wire policy, was in therapy over her troubled home life. The 15-year-old split time between her mom and dad, who divorced in 2014, remarried in 2017, divorced again in 2020, and then remarried for a second time. By April 2021, the couple petitioned for a third divorce and were &#8220;admonished&#8221; by a judge &#8220;concerning remarriage.&#8221;
By July 2022, the shooter was enrolled in therapy to help guide decisions on which parent she would spend weekends with, court records show, according to the Post. Her parents&#8217; custody agreement moved her between her mom and dad every two to three days.
Asked at a Tuesday press conference how the shooter would have been able to obtain a firearm, Chief Barnes replied, &#8220;How does any 15-year-old get ahold of a gun?”

The Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty (WILL) filed a civil rights complaint on Wednesday against Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center over several scholarship programs the legal firm says illegally discriminate based on race and sex. 
The <a href="https://will-law.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/HHS-OCR-Complaint-Cincinnati-Childrens-Race-Sex-Discrimination-12-17-2024-FINAL-with-Encl.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">complaint</a>, filed with the Office of Civil Rights for the Department of Health and Human Services, took aim at four specific programs offered by the hospital to “underrepresented groups.” WILL said the programs violate Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, which prohibits federal dollars from going toward racially discriminatory programs, and asked federal officials to launch an investigation. 
“Despite a national shortage of healthcare workers, some major healthcare systems in America still want to use taxpayer funds to discriminate on the basis of race and sex against otherwise eligible candidates,” WILL lawyer Cara Tolliver told The Daily Wire. “This is not just illegal, it’s nonsensical. The healthcare system cannot care for patients effectively, safely and efficiently, when medical education and training programs prioritize irrelevant identity politics over individual merit and essential qualities.”
The programs in question are the William K. Schubert Minority Nursing Scholarship, the Jean Turner Minority Scholarship for Medical Imaging Technology, the Biomedical Research Internship for Minority Students (BRIMS), and the Administrative Fellowship Program. 
According to the hospital, the <a href="https://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/careers/diverse-workforce/schubert" target="_blank" rel="noopener">goal</a> of the William K. Schubert Minority Nursing Scholarship, which provides $2,750 in tuition aid to pediatric nursing students, is to “increase the diversity of registered nurses.” Applicants must be from an “underrepresented group,” which excludes white women. 
The Ohio hospital defines those underrepresented as “male nurses/nursing students and nurses/nursing students who are American Indian or Alaskan Native, Black or African American, Hawaiian Native or other Pacific Islander, Hispanic or Latino, and/or Asian including Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Asian Indian, Thai, or Vietnamese/Southeast Asian.”
WILL said that this program disfavors “students who are not men and do not meet certain racial criteria — if these race- and sex-based barriers do not disqualify such students from the Hospital’s ‘minority’ scholarship entirely.”
Similarly, the Jean Turner Minority Scholarship <a href="https://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/careers/diverse-workforce/medical-imaging-scholarship" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stipulates</a> that recipients must be from an “under-represented ethnic group in the field of radiology.” This scholarship can cover up to $5,000 in tuition for a school year and was created “to create opportunities for people of color in the field of radiology.”

Another initiative WILL argues is discriminatory is the Biomedical Research In Medicine and Science (BRIMS) program, designed for “underrepresented” populations to gain summer experience in a lab doing academic research.
“While candidates meeting the racial criteria can immediately qualify for BRIMS, candidates who do not meet the program’s racial criteria must either find some other way than skin color to demonstrate their disadvantage, or lose their eligibility altogether,” WILL wrote in its complaint. 
The hospital’s “Administrative Fellowship” program “strongly encourages applicants from historically underrepresented groups in healthcare — including diverse groups based on race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender identity.”
This program allows recipients to gain experience running operations at a children’s hospital and academic center. 
“Treating individuals as racial or gender archetypes to ‘fix’ group differences is beyond the remit of a healthcare entity,” WILL wrote of the programs. “And in any event, such discrimination is illegal: Title VI and the [Affordable Care Act] do not permit federal funding recipients, like the Hospital, to operate their education, training and scholarship opportunities in this manner.”

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center did not respond to a request for comment from The Daily Wire.

Madison, Wisconsin, police are looking into a possible manifesto or letter written by the 15-year-old female shooter who killed a classmate and a teacher and wounded several others before turning the gun on herself at Abundant Life Christian School (ALCS) on Monday morning.
Police revealed the identity of the shooter, who will not be named per Daily Wire policy, during a Monday night press conference. The teen girl used a handgun that police recovered from the scene and was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes told <a href="https://www.cnn.com/us/live-news/madison-wisconsin-school-shooting-12-17-24#cm4sfhux10005356mw8v2ikhl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CNN</a> on Tuesday that authorities &#8220;have been made aware of a manifesto &#8230; or some type of letter that’s been posted by someone who alleged to be her friend.&#8221;
&#8220;We haven’t been able to locate that person yet, but that’s something we’re going to work on today,&#8221; Barnes added.
Social media posts have circulated claiming to reveal what the shooter wrote before the fatal shootings, but so far, police have not confirmed the authenticity of any alleged manifesto. The police chief also addressed unsubstantiated claims that have spread on social media claiming that the shooter identified as transgender. Barnes said on Monday night that authorities &#8220;don&#8217;t know&#8221; whether the shooter &#8220;was transgender or not.&#8221;
&#8220;And quite frankly, I don&#8217;t think that&#8217;s even important,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I don&#8217;t think that&#8217;s important at all. I don&#8217;t think that whatever happened today has anything to do with how she or he or they may have wanted to identify and I wish people would kind of leave their own personal biases out of this.&#8221;
&#8220;So whether or not she was, he was, they were transgender — it&#8217;s something that may come out later, but for what we&#8217;re doing right now today, literally eight hours after a mass shooting in a school in Madison, it is of no consequence at this time,&#8221; the chief added. &#8220;And so I would encourage people to be responsible with your social media.&#8221;
ALCS was beginning its last week before Christmas break. The school <a href="https://www.alcs.us/about/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">offers</a> education for students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
Police searched the home of the shooter&#8217;s parents with their consent on Monday evening, FOX&#8217;s Madison affiliate WMSN <a href="https://fox47.com/news/local/alcs-shooter-home-searched-shooters-parents-are-cooperating-police-say#" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
&#8220;We’ll also be looking through her effects – if she had a computer or cell phone – to see if there are any transmissions between her and someone else,&#8221; Barnes added.

The chief said the parents &#8220;are fully cooperating,&#8221; and there is &#8220;no reason to believe that they have committed a crime at this time.&#8221;
Barnes initially stated that the first 911 call was made by a second-grader, but he clarified on Tuesday that the first call came from a second-grade teacher at the school around 10:57 a.m. after the shooter opened fire in a classroom during study hall, and police responded within minutes. Upon entering the school, officers found that the shooter was already dead and immediately began life-saving efforts on the wounded. Six people, including a teacher, were transported to area hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to life-threatening. Two of the victims have been released from the hospital.
A teacher and a teenage student were pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting. Authorities have not revealed the identities of the victims as they wait for family members to be informed first. Pastor Chris Dolson, who spoke at a vigil on Monday night, said that one of the dead was a substitute teacher who came to work after another teacher called in sick, CBS News <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/madison-wisconsin-school-shooting-what-we-know/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.

The Madison, Wisconsin, Police Department is waiting to release any &#8220;identifying&#8221; information about the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/multiple-injuries-reported-after-shooter-opens-fire-at-christian-school-in-wisconsin?topStoryPosition=2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shooter</a> who killed two people and wounded several others at Abundant Life Christian School Monday morning.
Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes said at a press conference on Monday afternoon that authorities identified the shooter as a &#8220;teenage student who attended the school,&#8221; but he added, &#8220;At this time, we are not releasing the age or gender of the student or any other identifying remarks of the student.&#8221;
&#8220;As difficult as today is, that&#8217;s still someone&#8217;s child that&#8217;s gone. That&#8217;s still someone that has to deal with what happened today. So we just want to ensure as much cooperation as we can,&#8221; Barnes said, adding, &#8220;What I will tell you is as soon as we are done with this investigation what we uncover that will not compromise the safety of anyone involved or compromise the confidentiality of any of these children that are involved, we will tell you. I just ask for your patience.&#8221;
Shortly after the press conference, a law enforcement official briefed on the shooting told <a href="https://www.cnn.com/us/live-news/abundant-life-christian-school-shooting-madison-12-16-24#cm4rixcdz001h3b6nheyms7di" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CNN</a> that the shooter was a female.
The victims who died were identified as a teacher and a teenage student. At least seven other people were wounded in the shooting. At a press conference shortly after the shooting, police falsely reported that five people including the shooter were killed, but later said that information was “erroneously shared.”
Barnes said that authorities have already made contact with the shooter&#8217;s family, adding that the family is cooperating with the police.
The shooter used a handgun, according to Barnes. Responding officers found the shooter dead upon arriving at the scene and did not fire a shot after their arrival. Police immediately began rendering first aid to the wounded. Authorities urged anyone struggling with mental health issues as a result of the shooting to call the suicide and crisis hotline at 988.
ALCS, a small private Christian school, was beginning its last week before Christmas break. The school <a href="https://www.alcs.us/about/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">offers</a> education for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. ALCS wrote on Facebook after the shooting, “Prayers Requested! Today, we had an active shooter incident at ALCS. We are in the midst of following up. We will share information as we are able. The Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty (WILL) <a href="https://will-law.org/wisconsin-school-denies-help-to-dyslexic-student-based-on-race/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> this week that a young boy attending King Elementary School in Green Bay was discriminated against because of a policy that prioritized literacy help to black, Hispanic, and American Indian students. WILL says that the policy, found in its “school success” plan, violates federal civil rights law and should be scrapped.
The <a href="https://resources.finalsite.net/images/v1729526359/gbapsorg/jzfqjk8mb1yobfm3r4jt/KingSchoolSuccessPlan2024-25.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">policy</a> in question details that part of the school’s action plan should be “intentional work educating our focus students, prioritizing additional resources to First Nations, Black, and Hispanic students.”
Colbey Decker told WILL that when she attempted to get extra reading help for her son because of his dyslexia, he was put on a waiting list for almost a year before he got help as part of a group. WILL says that Decker’s child would have been given individualized help if he had been black or Hispanic.
“The school implied to me that my child would already be receiving one-on-one reading support if he were Black, Hispanic, or First Nation,” Decker said after reaching out to the school’s principal about the policy. “I was speechless. I think we need to help every student in need, and using the guise of ‘diversity’ simply creates more division and hurts all students.”
In a <a href="https://will-law.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/12.9.24-Colbey-Decker-Ltr-to-GBAPSD.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> to the Green Bay Public School District, WILL called for the policy to be ended.
“This policy, while purporting to address disparities, discriminates against students of other races who are equally in need of support,” WILL lawyers Cory Brewer and Dan Lennington wrote. “Race is used both as a negative and as a stereotype, in violation of U.S. Supreme Court precedent. The district’s policy fails to treat students as individuals and disregards their unique needs.”
Brewer told The Daily Wire that the firm was considering different legal responses to the policy, including filing a lawsuit or federal complaint. She said that the best-case scenario would be that the policy is rescinded and replaced with a colorblind standard that treats every student equally.
“The school where our client’s son attends has a written plan that explicitly says additional resources will be prioritized to certain students based on race,” she told The Daily Wire. “Obviously, that means that other students are considered not a priority.”

The school district denied that the race-based policy was in place at the district level in a <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/wisconsin-mom-mulls-lawsuit-alleging-school-districts-pushing-horrifying-race-based-policy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> to Fox.
“The District received the letter from WILL yesterday and we are investigating the allegations. However, we can state unequivocally that the District does not have a policy that includes the language included in the letter,” the district said. “All District policies must be approved by the Board of Education and no such policy language exists.&#8221;
Brewer told The Daily Wire that she was optimistic that the federal civil rights laws would be able to be applied to similar cases with the incoming Trump administration.
“With the Trump administration coming in, we hope to have an opportunity for Title VI to be enforced in a way that ensures all individuals, such as our client’s son, to be treated as individuals and for students who need help to get help without regard to race,” she said.

Former President Donald J. Trump is projected to win the swing state of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/wisconsin" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Wisconsin</a>, securing the state&#8217;s 10 Electoral College votes, according to a projection from Decision Desk HQ.
The race was called for Trump with 95% of the vote in as he led Vice President Kamala Harris 51.4% to 47.2%. Trump has now secured more than 270 votes in the Electoral College.
In 2020, Biden won Wisconsin by 0.8 points over former President Donald Trump, a much closer race than was anticipated after polling showed Biden up by a significant margin heading into Election Day.

Polls leading up to the election this year had shown a tight race between the two candidates, with Vice President Kamala Harris leading Trump in the RealClearPolitics average by 0.4 points heading into Election Day.
Wisconsin has seen a dramatic increase in the amount of spending on political advertisements this election cycle, going from $209 million in 2020 to $637 million in 2024.
This cycle, Republicans have spent $263 million, while Democrats have spent $361 million for all political races in the state.
For the 2024 presidential race in the state, Democrats outspent Republicans $145 million to $96 million.

Control of the Senate is on the ballot today, and while Republicans have a straightforward path to flipping the upper chamber, Democrats need to pull off some upsets to maintain control.
Fifty-one senators, including four independents, are in the Democratic caucus in the Senate, compared to 49 Republicans. That breakdown will likely change as numerous Senate races are decided on Tuesday night, and possibly in the days after.
Here are 10 races to watch.
<h4>Arizona — Open Seat</h4>
After Sen. Kyrsten Sinema announced earlier this year that she was retiring from the Senate, the race for her seat was blown wide open. While Sinema became an independent in 2022, she still caucuses with the Democrats, meaning her seat would be a big flip for Republicans if they can win on Tuesday.
Republican candidate Kari Lake, who lost the gubernatorial election in 2022, is currently trailing in the polls against Democrat Rep. Ruben Gallego. Gallego enjoyed a nearly eight-point lead in the <a href="https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/senate/general/2024/arizona/lake-vs-gallego" target="_blank" rel="noopener">RealClearPolitics</a> polling average in early October, but Lake has cut into that lead, trailing by less than 3 points as of Tuesday afternoon.
Much of the Arizona Senate race has centered on the border crisis, as Lake has hammered Gallego over his <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dem-arizona-senate-candidate-supported-amnesty-flip-flopped-on-illegal-aliens-voting" target="_blank" rel="noopener">support for amnesty</a> and his vote against House Joint Resolution 24, which sought to prevent illegal immigrants from voting in local elections in Washington, D.C.
Cook Political Report rates the race as <a href="https://www.cookpolitical.com/ratings/senate-race-ratings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lean Democrat</a>.
<h4>Maryland — Open Seat</h4>
Former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan is hoping to give the GOP a Senate seat in one of the most unlikely of states as he faces off against Democrat Angela Alsobrooks. Hogan was a popular governor in the blue state, winning two terms as a Republican. He has campaigned as a moderate willing to reach across the aisle, focusing on addressing economic issues and taxes.
Alsobrooks, a former county executive for Prince George County, Maryland, is pushing for pro-abortion policies and a ban on so-called assault weapons, claiming that &#8220;gun violence is the number one killer of children in America.&#8221; The Democrat leads Hogan in almost every recent <a href="https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/senate/general/2024/maryland/hogan-vs-alsobrooks" target="_blank" rel="noopener">poll</a>, and Cook Political Report rates the race as likely Democrat. But if Republicans have a strong night on Tuesday, it could be evidenced by how well Hogan performs in deep-blue Maryland.
<h4>Michigan — Open Seat</h4>
Similar to Arizona, Michigan&#8217;s 2024 Senate race will decide who will replace a retiring senator — in this case, 74-year-old Democrat Debbie Stabenow. Both of Michigan&#8217;s Senate seats have been controlled by Democrats since Republican Spencer Abraham lost his re-election bid to Stabenow in 2000. The party&#8217;s nearly-25 years of controlling Michigan&#8217;s Senate seats, however, is up for grabs as Republican Mike Rogers is running in a tight race against Democratic Rep. Elissa Slotkin.
Slotkin was the clear favorite to win the race early on, but Rogers has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mi-republican-senate-candidate-gains-ground-on-dem-opponent-new-polls" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cut into</a> the Democrat&#8217;s lead in the polls. Both Slotkin and Rogers have focused heavily on the economy, with Rogers accusing Slotkin of supporting a controversial Chinese-owned electric vehicle plant being built in Big Rapids, Michigan. Slotkin, meanwhile, has attempted to tie Rogers to Big Pharma and has touted her support of abortion.
Slotkin currently leads in the RealClearPolitics average by 2.3 points, and Cook Political Report rates the race as a toss-up.
<h4>Montana — Democrat Seat</h4>
Longtime Democrat Sen. Jon Tester is in an uphill battle to keep his Senate seat, which he&#8217;s held since 2007. Republican candidate Tim Sheehy, a retired Navy SEAL, is challenging Tester, focusing on the border crisis that has exploded under the Biden-Harris administration.
Montana represents one of the Republican Party&#8217;s best chances to flip a seat in the Senate with Cook Political Report rating the race lean Republican. Tester winning re-election could be vital to the Democratic Party&#8217;s narrow path to keeping control of the Senate. Polling on the Montana race has shown Sheehy leading Tester by nearly 8 points on average, according to <a href="https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/senate/general/2024/montana/sheehy-vs-tester" target="_blank" rel="noopener">RealClearPolitics</a>.
<h4>Nebraska — Republican Seat</h4>
Republican Sen. Deb Fischer is running for re-election against independent candidate Dan Osborn, a Navy veteran. Fischer has served in the Senate since 2013 and has won each of her elections by wide margins. But polling from this year&#8217;s race shows a much closer contest than what Fischer is used to.
Osborn reportedly asked the Democratic Party to keep a candidate off the ballot to form a coalition behind him, but then said he would <a href="https://nebraskaexaminer.com/2024/05/15/dan-osborn-spurns-democrats-other-parties-whose-help-he-sought-in-senate-race/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">not accept</a> the Democratic Party&#8217;s endorsement following the primaries. While an Osborn upset in Nebraska wouldn&#8217;t help push the Democrats closer to a majority, it could potentially hurt the GOP&#8217;s numbers and its path to taking control of the Senate.
Fischer leads in the polls by just over 2 points, according to FiveThirtyEight&#8217;s average. Cook Political Report rates the race as lean Republican.
<h4>Nevada — Democrat Seat</h4>
Nevada Democrat Sen. Jacky Rosen is in a close race against Republican Sam Brown in what would be a huge pick-up for Republicans if Brown can pull off the upset. Rosen won her first term as senator in the 2018 election after serving as a congresswoman from Nevada&#8217;s 3rd District for one term.
Brown, a U.S. Army veteran who was wounded while serving in Afghanistan in 2008, a political outsider is hoping to burst onto the scene with a victory over Rosen. An upset for Brown seemed far from reach just two months ago when Rosen led in the <a href="https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/senate/general/2024/nevada/brown-vs-rosen" target="_blank" rel="noopener">RCP average</a> by 10 points, but Brown has chipped away at the Democrat&#8217;s lead, now trailing by just four points. In one recent poll, Brown was tied with Rosen, and in another, he was leading by 1 point.
Cook Political Report rates the race as lean Democrat.
<h4>Ohio — Democrat Seat</h4>
In what Cook Political Report is rating as another toss-up race, Democrat Sherrod Brown has been <a href="https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/senate/general/2024/ohio/brown-vs-moreno" target="_blank" rel="noopener">losing ground</a> in the polls against Republican Bernie Moreno. Brown, who has been in office since 2007, has attempted to present himself as a moderate, especially on energy, vowing that he “will not turn my back on Ohio’s rural electric co-ops, Ohio energy workers, and Ohio families whose energy bills are already too high.” In September, however, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ohio-dem-senator-to-hold-event-with-group-pushing-to-close-states-largest-coal-plant" target="_blank" rel="noopener">participated in a campaign event</a> alongside a radical environmentalist group pushing to close the state’s largest coal plant.
Moreno, a Colombian-born businessman, supports stronger border security and <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/bernie-moreno-touts-historically-powerful-trump-endorsement-after-ohio-primary-win-previews-day-1-agenda" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> that &#8220;energy dominance&#8221; will be one of his top issues if he is elected. Moreno has also pushed to abolish the Department of Education, arguing that it has a &#8220;stranglehold on our kids.&#8221;
Moreno leads by just 1.7 points in the RealClearPolitics average.
<h4>Pennsylvania — Democrat Seat</h4>
In Pennsylvania, Democrat Sen. Bob Casey is running for his fourth term against Republican businessman Dave McCormick. The battleground state Senate race is another chance for Republicans to steal a seat from the Democrats. McCormick has recently surged in the polls, saying that Pennsylvanians “can see now it’s between a seventh-generation Pennsylvanian, an outsider, a business guy, someone who went to West Point and served in combat, versus a guy who’s been in elected office for 30 years and has been weak in a 99% vote for these liberal policies.&#8221;
In recent weeks, Casey has attempted to tie himself to former President Donald Trump, dropping a campaign that says “Casey bucked Biden to protect fracking and he sided with Trump to end NAFTA and put tariffs on China to stop them from cheating.”
Casey leads McCormick by <a href="https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/senate/general/2024/pennsylvania/mccormick-vs-casey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">1.8 points</a> in the RCP average of polls, and Cook Political Report rates the race as a toss-up.
<h4>Texas — Republican Seat</h4>
Republican Sen. Ted Cruz is seeking to fend off an upset bid from Democrat Rep. Colin Allred and keep the Texas Senate seat in the GOP&#8217;s hands. Allred, a former NFL linebacker, has gone along with the Biden-Harris agenda <a href="https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/biden-congress-votes/colin-allred/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">100%</a> of the time. During a recent debate, Cruz <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ted-cruz-blasts-his-dem-opponents-radical-and-extreme-record-during-debate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blasted</a> Allred&#8217;s &#8220;radical and extreme&#8221; record, pointing out that the Democrat voted in favor of the leftist “Equality Act,” a bill that prohibited discrimination based on “sexual orientation” or “gender identity.”
For Democrats to maintain control of the Senate, they would likely have to pull off a win in Montana or a major upset over Cruz in Texas. Cook Political Report rates the Cruz-Allred race as lean Republican.
<h4>Wisconsin — Democrat Seat</h4>
The fourth and final Senate toss-up race, according to Cook Political Report, is the Wisconsin contest between incumbent Democrat Tammy Baldwin and Republican Eric Hovde. Baldwin, a senator since 2013, has seen the <a href="https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/senate/general/2024/wisconsin/hovde-vs-baldwin" target="_blank" rel="noopener">polls</a> grow closer in recent weeks. Hovde, like many Republicans, is focused on immigration and the economy and is hoping to ride some momentum from Trump, who has been focusing on the battleground state.
Baldwin leads Hovde by just 1.8 points, according to the RealClearPolitics average.

The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/republican-national-committee-rnc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Republican National Committee</a> sued the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/milwaukee" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Milwaukee</a> Election Commission on Monday accusing it of “arbitrarily limiting” poll watchers. 
The <a href="https://prod-static.gop.com/media/documents/MKE_Summons_and_Complaint_filed_no_stamp_1730742648.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lawsuit</a> claims that the city plans to restrict certain precincts in the Democrat-dominated city to just one Republican and one Democratic poll watcher on Election Day. Milwaukee election officials have denied all the allegations contained in the lawsuit. 
“Wisconsin voters deserve to know that there are poll watchers from both parties in the room as votes are being cast and counted on Election Day. The RNC has not recruited and trained thousands of volunteers in the Badger State simply to back down from misguided officials who want to prevent a full measure of poll-watching transparency,” RNC Chair Michael Whatley <a href="https://gop.com/press-release/rnc-sues-milwaukee-for-shutting-out-poll-watchers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. “This lawsuit will compel officials in Milwaukee to ensure robust poll watcher access for the Republican Party.”
According to the suit, several Milwaukee precincts including the Serb Hall and the Good Hope Library polling locations, limited poll watchers during early voting in the state. The suit claimed these guidelines violated state law and the RNC asks a judge to block any restrictions on poll watchers. 
“The issue is that when access is arbitrarily restricted, a situation is manufactured where access is meted out largely according to the whims of the chief inspector,” the suit said. “The statutory criteria are mandatory when considering the establishment of observer areas at polling locations, and it is impermissible to establish an arbitrary number of observers that may be present.”
The Milwaukee Election Commission <a href="https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/11/04/rnc-sues-milwaukee-claiming-limits-on-vote-observers/76043420007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">denied</a> the allegations of the suit, saying that it was “maintaining open communications with the RNC.”
&#8220;The [Milwaukee Election Commission] denies the allegation that observers will be arbitrarily limited. However, observers may be subject to reasonable limitations, a power given to chief inspectors under Wisconsin law. At no point was the Republican Party denied the presence of an observer during the in-person absentee voting period, nor will they be denied that presence on Election Day,” Election Commission Executive Director Paulina Gutiérrez said.

Vice presidential candidates <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jd-vance" target="_blank" rel="noopener">JD Vance</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tim-walz" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tim Walz</a> visited the same Wisconsin city on Monday to make their final pitch to voters in the Badger State. 
The rival candidates both spent the morning in La Crosse, a city of around 51,000, to urge their supporters to show up big on Election Day. Former President Donald Trump currently leads Vice President Kamala Harris in Wisconsin 48.6%-48.4%, <a href="https://elections2024.thehill.com/wisconsin/harris-trump-wisconsin/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to an average of 88 polls from the state. 
Vance <a href="https://www.c-span.org/video/?539764-1/sen-jd-vance-campaigns-la-crosse-wi" target="_blank" rel="noopener">spoke</a> at the La Crosse Center Monday morning before heading out for a campaign stop in Michigan. 
“This is actually my last visit to the state of Wisconsin for this election, but that’s OK,” Vance said. “I promise I will come back as your vice president of the United States because we’re going to win this thing.” 
During his speech, Vance jabbed at rival Walz for having to defend the record of Harris.
“And I want you to spare a prayer for Governor Tim Walz,” Vance said. “I don’t think any of us have had the kind of day that Tim Walz is going to have today where he’s got to go around and convince the American people that Kamala Harris can be the president of the United States. That’s tough work.”
Vance also spoke about the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/disaster-final-jobs-report-before-election-shows-just-12000-jobs-added-in-october" target="_blank" rel="noopener">terrible jobs report</a> from the Bureau of Labor Statistics that found the economy added just 12,000 jobs in October, pointing out that many of the jobs gains were in the government sector.
“[Kamala Harris] created jobs for bureaucrats while all of our neighbors and friends are struggling in this economy. And I’ve got to tell you when Donald Trump is president, we’re going to get back to a golden age of American prosperity.”

Walz also talked about the economy, claiming that a Harris administration would lower inflation.

Wisconsin Team Trump Communications Director Jacob Fischer blasted Harris’ economic policies on Monday in a <a href="https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/11/04/tim-walz-calls-on-voters-to-turn-the-page-on-trump-in-la-crosse/76036229007/">statement</a> to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. 
&#8220;After four years of Kamalanomics, Wisconsin households have spent nearly $28,000 more due to historic inflation. If given four more years, Kamala Harris is proposing the largest tax hike in history,” he said. &#8220;Meanwhile, President Trump is proposing to help hard-working Wisconsinites with commonsense policies like No Tax on Tips, No Tax on Social Security, No Tax on Overtime, tax credits for caregivers and children, and tax credits for new farming equipment.&#8221;
Wisconsin was decided by around 20,000 votes in both 2020 and 2016. Cygnal pollster Brent Buchanan told The Daily Wire&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/podcasts/morning-wire/election-eve-margins-the-gender-gap-11-4-24" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;Morning Wire&#8221; podcast</a> on Monday that he believes Wisconsin will be the most likely “Blue Wall” state to break in Trump’s favor.

The Trump Team&#8217;s TikTok was posted on Sunday, two days before the presidential election on Tuesday.

This election cycle, the Trump campaign and Republicans have zeroed in on immigration, one of their strongest issues, arguing that the Biden administration has allowed an unmitigated disaster at the border.
Harris has hammered abortion, urging women especially to vote for her to preserve legal abortion. In the last few weeks, her campaign has also tried to boost support among men, which Democrats fear may be one of her biggest vulnerabilities.
Meanwhile, Christmas is already in the air around the country.
Retail stores have already begun to display their Christmas inventory and are decorating their stores in anticipation of the holiday season.
