One of the largest fraud scandals in Minnesota may involve the family of Ilhan Omar.
The far-left congresswoman&#8217;s sister used the address of a woman who was business partners with several major convicts in the &#8220;Feeding Our Future&#8221; scandal, a Daily Wire investigation found.
The federal meals scandal is described as the largest public theft in Minnesota history. The statehouse&#8217;s House Fraud Prevention and State Agency Oversight Committee is probing the Somali-born congresswoman&#8217;s involvement in the scandal, but Democrats in May <a href="https://www.house.mn.gov/sessiondaily/Story/19152" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blocked</a> a subpoena that would require Omar to produce records.
Public records in the state, however, may tie Omar&#8217;s sister, Sahra Noor, to the operation. Noor has run several businesses in the region, including the People&#8217;s Center Clinics &amp; Services in the Somali neighborhood of Minneapolis, which controversially received a <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2026/03/12/exposed-ilhan-omars-ties-to-sisters-minneapolis-health-clinic-somali-health-company-and-alleged-brother-husband/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">$2 million earmark</a> while her sister was a state representative.
Noor went on to found a group called Grit Partners Consulting, and publicly <a href="https://www.sahranoor.com/grit-partners/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">says</a> her company &#8220;has secured more than $20 million in funding for health initiatives&#8221;  and has &#8220;consulted on projects backed by&#8221; federal health agencies such as USAID and the Center for Disease Control.
Grit Partners was incorporated at a home on Hyacinth Ave. in Lakeville, Minnesota. That address, and the woman who lives there, are lynchpins tying together at least three Feeding Our Future convicts, The Daily Wire found.

The Hyacinth Ave. home is occupied by Mashah Ahmed Ali and his wife Ister (a.k.a. Ismahan) Ahmed Afraa. According to incorporation records, Afraa opened a company called Sunrise Business Center, Inc. alongside <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-mn/media/1255296/dl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hanna Marekegn</a>.
Marekegn is directly involved in the fraud scandal, pleading guilty in 2022 to wire fraud for stealing $7 million.
Marekegn claimed to be feeding 4,000 poor children a day. Instead she bought a <a href="https://alphanews.org/scoop-marble-filled-mansion-once-owned-by-feeding-our-future-fraudster-hits-the-market-for-2-1-million/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mansion</a> for herself, claiming she embodied the “American Dream.” Marekegn testified under oath that she falsely alleged racism to manipulate Minnesota bureaucrats to look the other way at red flags.

Afraa, who worked with Marekegn, also incorporated Sunshine Care Center MN, Inc., which claimed the same office address as Sunrise Business Center. On LinkedIn, Marekegn listed her <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/hanna-marekegn-2867bb12b" target="_blank" rel="noopener">employer</a> as Sunshine Care Center at that address.
Afraa is also tied to Aimee Bock, the Feeding our Future ring-leader sentenced to <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/feeding-our-future-ringleader-sentenced-500-months" target="_blank" rel="noopener">41 years</a> in prison. Minnesota Department of Health data <a href="https://www.health.state.mn.us/communities/ship/support/docs/earlycare/ccfreereduced.xlsx?brid=YWdncwGti_6E0KoMeHBBoGymC5bJ" target="_blank" rel="noopener">listed</a> Bock as point of contact for Sunshine Care Center LLC.
Her Hyacinth Ave. home was also the <a href="https://mblsportal.sos.mn.gov/Business/SearchDetails?filingGuid=40a65565-b922-e211-bc43-001ec94ffe7f" target="_blank" rel="noopener">incorporation address</a> of Diversity Childcare Center LLC, which <a href="https://www.health.state.mn.us/communities/ship/support/docs/earlycare/ccfreereduced.xlsx?brid=YWdncwGti_6E0KoMeHBBoGymC5bJ" target="_blank" rel="noopener">listed</a> Bock as point of contact.

According to state investigative documents, Bock said the head of Sunshine Care Center MN, who is not named in the documents, was brought to Feeding Our Future by a woman named Sahra Nur, a key player in Feeding Our Future who was sentenced to <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-mn/pr/minneapolis-woman-sentenced-51-months-prison-role-feeding-our-future-250-million-fraud" target="_blank" rel="noopener">four years in prison</a>, and to whom Afraa is closely tied.
Afraa was CEO of Aflah Property Inc., which operated out of Nur&#8217;s home on Fordham Ct NE. Afraa had a $30,000 state tax lien placed against her in April 2025, listing the Fordham home as the address.
Nur&#8217;s home on Fordham Ct. was ground zero for Feeding Our Future, being used by at least 17 different companies, most of them designed to bill the government or launder profits.
Nur was an owner of S &amp; S Catering, which claimed to have made more than eight million meals. It enabled the fraud of the various Feeding Our Future nonprofits by giving them fake invoices so they could tell the government they spent money purchasing meals. The government reimbursed more than $12 million as a result, according to Nur’s <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.mnd.203041/gov.uscourts.mnd.203041.1.0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">indictment</a> and <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.mnd.203042/gov.uscourts.mnd.203042.160.0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">guilty plea</a>.
Nur’s home was also used to set up some of those nonprofits, like the Academy for Youth Excellence, which allegedly stole $3.5 million in federal funds.
It also housed Golis Properties LLC, which allegedly stole $3.9 million from taxpayers and used $2.5 million in stolen funds to buy an entire block on East Lake Street.
Nur ran Kulmiye Management LLC, while Afraa, the woman connected to Omar’s sister, was an executive in Kulmiye Property LLC.
Afraa bought a property directly across the street from one that was forfeited to the government, 2529 12th Avenue South, for being purchased with stolen funds.
For Omar, a scandal involving siblings is nothing new. Since her first entry into the national political scene, she has been dogged by reporting on her marriage to a Somalian man who is widely believed to be her brother. That marriage was almost certainly not done for romantic reasons — he was a foreign national, and during her marriage to him, she married another man who is the father of her children. Omar has since divorced that second husband to marry her one-time political consultant, Tim Mynett.
Reporting shows that Omar&#8217;s sister has moved back to Africa, and that her family has found itself involved directly with the Somali government.
According to <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2026/03/12/exposed-ilhan-omars-ties-to-sisters-minneapolis-health-clinic-somali-health-company-and-alleged-brother-husband/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Breitbart</a>, Omar&#8217;s sister left her position at the People&#8217;s Center and moved to Kenya, with her Grit Partners doing work in Africa <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20260312212139/https://gritpartnersglobal.com/2023/11/18/facilitation-of-usaid-funded-projects-peer-learning-sessions/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">funded</a> by the now-defunct USAID.
Her husband, Mohamed Keynan, worked for the Minnesota Department of Human Services, but after going back to Africa, he has worked as chief of staff to the Somali Prime Minister and policy advisor to Somalia&#8217;s president, Breitbart said.
The husband is also known as Mohamed Ali, the same last name as the owner of the Hyacinth home where Noor incorporated Grit Partners, Mashah Ahmed Ali. The latter created two companies: Pro Transit Allies LLC, seemingly a Medicaid transportation company; and Puntland Transport LLC. Puntland is an area of Somalia for which Mohamed Keynan – Ilhan Omar’s brother-in-law – is a <a href="https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/news/articles/ilhans-country" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fierce advocate</a>.
In a phone call with The Daily Wire, Mashah Ahmed Ali claimed to have never heard of any of the companies registered to his home or by his wife, saying someone must have created them without his knowledge. “There must be some sort of scam going on, I have no idea,” he said.
“For the last 10 years I have a professional job, I have nothing to do with anything,” he said.
Asked if his wife Afraa might be the person who knows about the companies in her name, he refused to provide her number. Afraa did not reply to a text sent to a number associated with her.
Noor, who has written a <a href="https://www.sahranoor.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">book</a> scheduled for release next month, did not return a request for comment.

An Ohio grand jury this week indicted an African couple living in Ohio on charges of Medicaid fraud, money laundering, and identity fraud — two months after The Daily Wire exposed the pair as part of its Medicaid Millions series.
But it was too late: the couple had already returned to their native Africa, highlighting the vulnerabilities of paying millions of dollars to foreign-born providers of dubious Medicaid services.
Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson announced on Wednesday that Roberta Acheampong, 39, and her husband, Godfred Owusu-Sekyere, 46, face &#8220;12 felony charges for allegedly defrauding Ohio’s Medicaid program of $9.3 million.&#8221; He said investigators believe the couple is now living in Kenya or Ghana.
The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.sbc.senate.gov/public/_cache/files/c/7/c79480c8-8424-4bd6-ad5b-fa1245c997a4/778A933D6B0FE2859B0CA5D5142925B70AF508FDF2F813729C692B4C2B8F9B5B.rosiak-testimony.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">testified</a> to the U.S. Senate specifically on Acheampong, describing the fraudster as &#8220;a janitor who changed the name of her janitorial LLC to One Community Mental Health, then billed the government $100,000 in the first month. It later billed up to $650,000 a month. Meanwhile she started a daycare and an addiction treatment center. Then she left the country.&#8221;
Wilson, in his statement on the felony charges, said they were the result of &#8220;a complex, years-long investigation&#8221; that &#8220;revealed widespread fraudulent billing tied to One Community Mental Health, a &#8216;behavioral-health clinic&#8217; that the couple owned and operated in Ohio.
&#8220;The two allegedly exploited refugees seeking resettlement services, billing Medicaid multiple times a week for entire households, without their knowledge, for unnecessary mental health and therapeutic behavioral services that were never provided,&#8221; the attorney general said. &#8220;They are also accused of forging documents and stealing the identities of translation and transportation staff members to submit fraudulent Medicaid claims under their names.&#8221;

His office also said that banking records show Acheampong used the &#8220;stolen&#8221; funds to &#8220;finance a lavish lifestyle, including purchases of real estate and a Porsche.&#8221;
The charges come just a few months after the Daily Wire&#8217;s May 5 story, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/inside-ohios-home-health-empire-7-buildings-288-medicaid-companies-250-million" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Inside Ohio’s Home Health Empire: 7 Buildings, 288 Medicaid Companies, $250 Million</a>, in which the business was identified as one of the most eyebrow-raising businesses in a pocket of Ohio where Medicaid fraud runs rampant.
<blockquote>At 1425 East Dublin, One Community Mental Health LLC, run by Roberta Acheampong, billed 70,000 claims totaling $8 million, according to the data reviewed. The Daily Wire roamed the building but saw no physical presence.
The home health industry is not her first business tied to taxpayer funds. In 2019, Acheampong created <a href="https://bizimage.ohiosos.gov/api/image/pdf/201910902672" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Royals African International Food Market Inc.</a>, but soon a lien was placed against it by the Economic &amp; Community Development Institute, which gives federally-funded loans for “social and economic change.”
She <a href="https://bizimage.ohiosos.gov/api/image/pdf/201928703278" target="_blank" rel="noopener">incorporated</a> Nahsek Interpreting Services LLC, which three months later <a href="https://bizimage.ohiosos.gov/api/image/pdf/202001304324" target="_blank" rel="noopener">changed its name</a> to Royals Cleaning Services LLC. In September 2020, the cleaning service changed its name to <a href="https://bizimage.ohiosos.gov/api/image/pdf/202024704316" target="_blank" rel="noopener">One Community Mental Health LLC</a>. This time, she struck gold.
In its first month of billing Medicaid, it had $96,000 worth of instant clients without so much as a website. By January 2023, it was charging taxpayers $654,000 a month for “therapeutic behavioral services,” “psychosocial rehabilitation services,” and “community psychiatric supportive treatment,” the billing records reviewed by The Daily Wire show.
With government money flowing in, Acheampong, whose business was cleaning houses a few months earlier, bought a $1.1 million home in a gated community in Powell, Ohio, records indicate. The Daily Wire visited the home to speak to Acheampong, but it was empty and listed for sale.
In February 2021, she created the nonprofit 1st Access Community Resources, for “Providing Community Base [sic] Case Management Services.” The filing paperwork was also sent to the food market. The nonprofit was quickly abandoned. In December 2022, Acheampong <a href="https://bizimage.ohiosos.gov/api/image/pdf/202236304092" target="_blank" rel="noopener">incorporated</a> Little Stars of America Learning Center LLC. Its address was listed as the address of the aforementioned African market.
Soon, she had another for-profit company, One Community Developmental Support Services LLC, listed under the category of residential treatment facilities. Spending data for that category isn’t public.</blockquote>
Since her companies didn&#8217;t seem to exist at their offices, The Daily Wire visited Acheampong&#8217;s home, on a luxury private lane, and found it empty and for sale.
A neighbor told us that the realtor selling Acheampong&#8217;s house said she had left the country and was liquidating all of her assets in the United States. Hours after The Daily Wire story published mentioning Acheampong, the home was taken off the market.
&#8220;Who buys a million-plus dollar home and never opens the blinds and never has a light on?&#8221; the neighbor said.
This reporter also raised the Acheampong example to the <a href="https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/CHRG-119hhrg63891/pdf/CHRG-119hhrg63891.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">U.S. House of Representatives</a>:
<blockquote>Chairman COMER. You also reported companies with rapid and unusual growth. Should state oversight authorities have been alarmed by these trends?
Mr. ROSIAK. Yes. I mean, for example, there was a janitor who renamed her LLC to be Mental Health and started billing Medicaid $100,000 in the first month, later up to $650,000 in one month, and then she left the country. And so, if you were to start a roofing business, it takes time to build clients. How do you get $100,000 in business the first month? That is something people could ask.
&#8230;
Mr. GILL. What are some of these names that you come across? Do you hear the same names, or are they different names?
Mr. ROSIAK. Yes, it is funny because this started off, I was investigating a guy named Robert Acheampong. And then I found a different scammer named Roberta Acheampong. And I thought they were related, but they were not. It is just that is how common it is to scam Medicaid when your name is Acheampong.</blockquote>
Investigators may still have more to look into: The indicted husband&#8217;s name is Godfred Owusu-Sekyere.
Someone with the same last name has billed Medicaid more than $12 million for home health care in Virginia. Abena Owusu-Sekyere runs 1st Option Home Health in Woodbridge, Virginia, which has billed nearly $300,000 a month for &#8220;personal care services,&#8221; the Medicaid code which means that people who are not nurses act as servants to people in their homes, doing tasks like cooking and cleaning. Abena also runs a second home-health company, Gracestar Health Services.
The Daily Wire has found that the people getting paid for &#8220;personal services&#8221; are often refugees and migrants who live in multi-generational households and claim the older generation is disabled, resulting in payments to themselves for simply conducting normal family tasks in their own home.

The FBI is hunting for a Somali-born man suspected of stealing millions of dollars in funds meant for children in need.
FBI Director Kash Patel said Wednesday that Fahad Mohamed Nur was added to the bureau&#8217;s list of “Most Wanted Fraudsters.” Nur, a naturalized American citizen born in Somalia, was charged in September 2022 for stealing $5 million from the Federal Child Nutrition Program.
“After the outstanding early success of the FBI’s Most Wanted Fraudster List, already arresting TWO subjects within weeks with apprehensions out of Somalia and Philippines, today the [FBI] is announcing another addition,” Patel <a href="https://x.com/FBIDirectorKash/status/2074820494319067311" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. “We have already seen over $13 billion in fraud uncovered on behalf of hardworking Americans — and there is more to come.”
A $150,000 reward is <a href="https://www.fbi.gov/wanted/most-wanted-fraudsters/fahad-mohamed-nur" target="_blank" rel="noopener">offered</a> for information that leads to Nur’s capture and conviction. The FBI said it believes he may be hiding out in Somalia. He is charged with multiple counts of money laundering, wire fraud, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
Nur ran a Minneapolis-based business called The Produce that purported to supply meals to children in need that received millions of dollars in federal nutrition funds, according to the indictment against him. The business was sponsored by Feeding Our Future, the infamous entity behind the largest COVID-era scam.
Federal prosecutors say that Nur submitted fake meal counts, rosters, and invoices to obtain federal funds. The funds given to Nur and his co-defendants “substantially” exceeded the amount of money that should have been allocated for the meals they actually provided, according to the indictment.
Prosecutors said that by the time Nur distributed any meals in September 2021, he had already received $3.5 million in food payments.
Misappropriated funds went toward real estate, luxury vehicles, and travel. Nur moved nearly $700,000 of fraudulently obtained dollars into his bank account, took $78,000 in cash out, and spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on real estate purchases and vehicles, according to prosecutors.
Nur reportedly fled the country after federal agents started serving search warrants in relation to their investigation of the Feeding Our Future scheme. In May 2026, Feeding Our Future founder Aimee Bock was sentenced to almost 42 years in prison for orchestrating the $250 million scam.
Led by Vice President JD Vance, the Trump administration has placed a renewed focus on tracking down fraudsters targeting welfare programs.
“If you defraud American taxpayers you will be found and brought to justice,” the White House Task Force on Fraud <a href="https://x.com/WHFraudTF/status/2074831393012494634" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> Wednesday.

The Fraudster Suspect The FBI Is Now Hunting Across The Globe

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump&#8217;s administration is ramping up its crackdown on birth tourism in the United States.
Colin McDonald, who leads the newly formed Fraud Division at the Department of Justice, informed employees on Tuesday that the DOJ will target those who &#8220;exploit our immigration system and violate criminal law,&#8221; according to a memorandum on &#8220;fraudulent birth tourism schemes&#8221; obtained by The Daily Wire.
&#8220;I am directing all United States Attorneys and the Criminal Division to work with the Department of Homeland Security to prioritize the investigation and prosecution of birth tourism schemes,&#8221; McDonald ordered.
The memo comes on the heels of a momentous Supreme Court decision that protects the practice of “birth tourism,” often used by wealthy Chinese nationals to travel to the United States to give birth to their children.
The DOJ memo lays out how the American citizenship system is exploited every year by &#8220;thousands of foreigners&#8221; who come to the United States under &#8220;false pretenses to give birth and secure citizenship for their child.&#8221;
McDonald cites an example from 2024, in which Michael Wei Yueh Liu and Jing Dong, a husband and wife, were sentenced to 41 months in prison for operating a birth tourism scheme using a business called &#8220;USA Happy Baby Inc.&#8221;

That business charged Chinese clients &#8220;tens of thousands of dollars&#8221; for helping women give birth in the United States.
&#8220;Liu and Dong assisted customers with obtaining fraudulent visas to enter the United States, and provided customs entry guidance, housing, and transportation in the United States,&#8221; McDonald explained. &#8220;As part of the scheme, Liu and Dong coached their customers on how to hide their pregnancies from immigration authorities.&#8221;
Another 2022 scheme involved Ibrahim Aksakal, who was sentenced to 27 months in prison for &#8220;conspiring to commit health care and wire fraud&#8221; related to a birth tourism scheme that he operated in New York. He was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $1,039,723.63, and forfeiture in the amount of $397,500.
&#8220;Aksakal and his co-conspirators advertised a birth tourism scheme on two Turkish-language social media pages,&#8221; the memo states. &#8220;As part of the scheme, Aksakal and his co-conspirators instructed the women to conceal their pregnancies from immigration authorities.&#8221;
A third scheme, this one in 2020, involved a fugitive named Chao &#8220;Edwin&#8221; Chen who was sentenced to 37 months in prison for his role in a &#8220;large-scale birth tourism scheme.&#8221;
This business went under the name &#8220;You Win USA&#8221; and advertised that it had a 100-person team in China and the United States and had served more than 500 Chinese birth-tourism customers, the memo stated.
&#8220;Chen, who helped coach his customers to misrepresent the true 
intentions of their visits to United States at ports of entry, charged each customer between $40,000 to $80,000,&#8221; McDonald&#8217;s memo explained. &#8220;Chen received $3 million in international wire transfers from China in just two years.&#8221;
DOJ prosecutes many of these cases as visa fraud under 18 USC § 1546, but McDonald&#8217;s memo encourages prosecutors to consider whether other federal statutes have been violated.
That could include &#8220;Wire Fraud and Conspiracy to Commit Wire Fraud,&#8221; &#8220;Money Laundering and Conspiracy to Commit Money Laundering,&#8221; &#8220;Unlawful Use of Means of Identification,&#8221; &#8220;Aggravated Identity Theft,&#8221; and &#8220;Conspiracy to Commit Health Care Fraud.&#8221;
President Trump called on Congress to take legislative action on Tuesday in light of the Supreme Court&#8217;s decision on birthright citizenship.
“The Supreme Court upheld Birthright Citizenship, which is too bad for our Country, but we can easily make it up in Congress through Legislation, with the support of the President, that has now been determined during this process,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social. “No long and unwieldy Constitutional Amendment is necessary! Chinese businessman, right-wing media mogul, and real estate tycoon Miles Guo has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for defrauding his followers of more than $1 billion. 
Guo, who also used the names “Ho Wan Kwok,” “Guo Wengui,” “Brother Seven,” “The Principal,” and “Boss,” was convicted of racketeering, securities fraud, money laundering, and defrauding donors and investors.
Guo’s federal judge, Analisa Torres, said on Monday that Guo had “preyed on people seeking to bring democracy to China,” causing them “substantial financial and emotional harm.”
His fraud schemes began when he lured donors into his Rule of Law Foundation and Rule of Law Society by falsely claiming he was contributing the first $100 million himself. He also released stock in his media venture, GTV, which gained scrutiny from the Securities and Exchange Commission. 
Guo was also involved in a scheme in which victims were told they could lend money to networks of Guo’s supporters and receive GTV stock and interest, a venture that allegedly netted him $100 million. He also sold $250 million in memberships to G|CLUBS, which also promised GTV stock but provided few tangible benefits.
Another fraud scheme Guo was convicted of was launching a cryptocurrency ecosystem called “Himalaya Exchange,” where people could trade “H Coin” and “H Dollar.” The court proceedings revealed that the cryptocurrencies were not based on a blockchain at all but merely numbers manipulated on an internal spreadsheet.
With the money he took from Americans and foreign investors, Guo reportedly bought estates in New Jersey and Connecticut, a $4.4 million Bugatti supercar, a $1 million Lamborghini, and a $37 million yacht, the Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/article/guo-wengui-chinese-businessman-fraud-9b8329c7ab8012f2dfa7c48c55fc5620">reported</a>.
“After immigrating to this country, rather than being satisfied with the many legitimate opportunities afforded to him, Guo exploited the trust that thousands had placed in him for his own greed,” U.S. Attorney Sean S. Buckley <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-sdny/pr/miles-guo-sentenced-30-years-prison-leading-billion-dollar-fraud">said</a> in a statement. “This sentence shows that fame and wealth do not place you above the law, and that fraudsters who victimize families to enrich themselves will be met with significant consequences.”
Federal prosecutors likened the scale of Guo’s schemes to that of the famous fraudster Bernie Madoff.
Guo went from poverty to an estimated net worth of $2.6 billion by investing in real estate during the construction boom leading up to the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He was ranked as China’s 74th richest man and owned a sprawling $230 million lakeside courtyard in Beijing, <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/03/30/us/guo-wengui-china.html">according</a> to The New York Times.
Guo secured majority control of a securities business by buying a stake in a state-owned company through Chinese senior intelligence official Ma Jian. However, when a Chinese campaign aimed at stamping out waste, fraud, and abuse jailed Ma, Guo realized he was at risk and fled China in 2015.
During his time in the United States, Guo made friends and connections in the American Right. He joined President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago golf club. He also partnered with Trump supporter Steve Bannon to launch anti-CCP ventures such as GTV Media and declared the New Federal State of China to be the self-proclaimed sovereign government of China. Guo also promoted Bannon’s podcast on his Chinese-language media network.
Guo’s network was the first to expose the Hunter Biden laptop scandal, the New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/06/29/us/guo-wengui-sentencing.html?unlocked_article_code=1.uFA.adnJ.ZGsOD1LAX7dG&amp;amp;smid=url-share">reported</a>. He also released a No. 1 iTunes hit song, “Take Down the CCP.”
Beijing welcomed the conviction of Guo.
&#8220;Guo Wengui is a fugitive wanted under an Interpol Red Notice issued at the request of the Chinese government,&#8221; Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/guo-wengui-beijing-jailing-ccp-critic-trump-links-12140888">said</a> in a press briefing Tuesday.
Throughout the case, Guo has maintained his innocence, stating that he fled to the United States not to escape a fraud conviction but to “destroy the CCP,” according to an AP news <a href="https://apnews.com/article/guo-wengui-chinese-businessman-fraud-3deb06c17c5640a5d63f0e2c72286ac8">report</a>. 
Guo has insisted that his business dealings have harmed no one. His attorneys have stated that the conviction is part of the CCP’s “grand, pervasive, and life-threatening” pursuit of him and stated that Guo’s conviction would merely “embolden further efforts to eliminate Chinese dissidents from public life.”
Judge Torres said Guo’s assets will be liquidated, with the proceeds used to reimburse hundreds of his victims.

BOSTON— Federal authorities arrested 11 illegal immigrants in Massachusetts they say are tied to a massive taxpayer-funded benefit fraud scheme that exceeded $1 million.
The Justice Department <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/news/2026/06/18/11-illegal-aliens-indicted-14-million-benefit-fraud-scheme-massachusetts">announced</a> charges against a total of 15 alleged fraudsters, which includes the 11 illegal aliens, during a press conference on Thursday in Boston. Several of the accused fraudsters are &#8220;John Does&#8221; who used stolen identities and their names remain unknown.
Colin M. McDonald, assistant attorney general for the Justice Department&#8217;s fraud division, said federal investigators are &#8220;still working&#8221; to determine the &#8220;true identities&#8221; of the unnamed fraudsters.
&#8220;We don&#8217;t know who they are fully, but we do know who they are not. They are not the American citizens they pretend to be, and from that initial lie the charges [announced] today allege that they gained access to the buffet of benefits generously given by the American taxpayer for needy Americans,&#8221; McDonald said.
&#8220;In some cases, the victims of these crimes, the rightful beneficiaries of these funds, could not access benefits they needed. And why? That was because their identities had been stolen and their names had been already used in the programs to steal benefits. In other words, American citizens were boxed out of these programs because illegal aliens took their names to then take their money, or more accurately your money, the American taxpayer&#8217;s money. Illegal immigration carries real and substantial costs to American taxpayers and places enormous strain on our public benefits systems. And the further we look, the more fraud we find,&#8221; he added.

Among those charged was 56-year-old Dominican national Santo Escolastico Cuello who allegedly committed aggravated identity theft and made false statements relating to a health care program in connection with $162,180 in MassHealth fraud.
One of the accused illegal immigrant John Does is charged with false representation of a Social Security number, aggravated identity theft and making false statements relating to a health care program in connection with MassHealth fraud totaling $75,000 and aggravated identity theft.
Another John Doe is charged with illegal acquisition or use of SNAP benefits, theft of government funds, and aggravated identity theft in connection with SNAP benefit fraud totaling $11,000.
Federal authorities also charged Mario Baez Romero, a 45-year-old Dominican national who was living in Somerville, Massachusetts, with aggravated identity theft and passport fraud in connection with $26,942 in SNAP fraud, and $48,785 in MassHealth fraud. He was encountered by federal authorities on a recreational boat near Key Biscayne in Miami, Florida, in May.
One of the suspects, Indian illegal immigrant Mitul Patel, 40, allegedly <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-ma/pr/eleven-indian-nationals-charged-visa-fraud-conspiracy">staged</a> at least six false armed robberies of a convenience store to allow the alleged victims, including himself, to seek U visas for victims of violent crimes.
Another accused fraudster was previously convicted in Massachusetts on federal drug charges, officials said.
Authorities are still working to identify the John Does and have asked the government of the Dominican Republic for assistance, U.S. Attorney Leah Foley said during Thursday&#8217;s presser.
Illegal immigrants have traditionally flocked to Massachusetts for the state&#8217;s generous public benefits system, including state health care programs, McDonald told The Daily Wire&#8217;s Kassy Akiva during an interview that followed the press conference.
McDonald also called out Massachusetts Democratic Governor Maura Healey, who has sparred with the Trump administration over its demands for the state to hand over data on SNAP applicants and recipients.
&#8220;Things like being transparent for the records that the state maintains because the state is responsible. Not only do they receive the money from the federal government, we give them the money. They are then responsible for the verification checks, the eligibility checks. We are asking and we have been asking for them to give us those records so that we can see and we can pressure test, just make sure that fraud&#8217;s not happening, but they refuse to give us those records,&#8221; McDonald said.
&#8220;It begs the question of what are you trying to hide,&#8221; he said.

The FBI arrested a Somali-born man accused of stealing $4 million from a federal food program for children in need through his participation in the nation’s largest COVID-era scam. 
FBI Director Kash Patel announced Wednesday that 47-year-old <a href="https://www.fbi.gov/wanted/most-wanted-fraudsters/said-abdullahi-ereg">Said Abdullahi Ereg</a> surrendered to federal authorities after being wanted since 2024 on fraud charges. Ereg was placed on the “Most Wanted Fraudsters” last week over his alleged involvement in the massive $250 million Feeding Our Future scam.
“When [Vice President] Vance led the way for the Most Wanted Fraudsters list through the [White House Fraud Task Force] — this was exactly the righteous goal the Task Force had in mind — to bring to justice all those who have stolen money from hardworking American taxpayers,” Patel said. “This historic result is only the beginning — and let it be a message to any fraudster who takes advantage of America, this team will find you.”
The FBI said that Ereg took $4.2 million in government payments to his Minneapolis-based grocery and deli to supposedly provide meals through the Federal Child Nutrition Program between April 2020 and April 2021. Ereg&#8217;s grocery was sponsored by the fraudulent Feeding Our Future program. 
“Ereg allegedly transferred most of the money to fund his family&#8217;s lavish lifestyle,&#8221; the FBI said. &#8220;He also allegedly transferred money to foreign accounts controlled by foreign companies.&#8221;
Ereg’s grocery store purported to serve “3,000 meals, twice a day, seven days a week” but in actuality only served a “fraction of those meals,” according to prosecutors. In total, he claimed to have served 1.4 million meals to children. 
The money was instead used for purchases of high-end brands like Burberry, Louis Vuitton, and Canada Goose and sent to a foreign textile company, according to the indictment. Ereg transferred some $2.5 million funds received from government payouts to foreign accounts controlled by foreign companies, prosecutors said. 
Hundreds of thousands of dollars went toward the purchase of a home in New Hope, Minnesota, and the Somali-founded Quick Chain Trading Company and the Chinese-based Shaoxing Aifan Textile Company, according to the indictment. 
The suspected fraudster faces charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering. The criminal proceedings for Ereg will take place in federal court in Minnesota. 
Aimee Bock, the founder of Feeding Our Future, was sentenced last month to 500 months in prison for her role in the exploitation of the child nutrition program during COVID. She and others created dozens of shell companies to funnel federal dollars that were supposed to go toward feeding kids. 
Under the direction of Vice President JD Vance, the Trump administration is focusing on cracking down on fraud. Federal officials are investigating in Ohio after The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/medicaid-millionaires-how-the-feds-pay-immigrants-billions-to-hang-out-with-their-families">reported</a> on the state’s questionable payments for a taxpayer funded home healthcare program.

Feds Arrest ‘Most Wanted Fraudster’ Accused Of Using Taxpayer Dollars For ‘Lavish Lifestyle’

Vice President JD Vance tasked the Justice Department with probing accusations that Minnesota Democratic Governor Tim Walz looked the other way while fraudsters bilked the state’s social services for upwards of $9 billion. 
Vance referred the Walz administration to the DOJ on Monday night after the House Oversight Committee released a <a href="https://oversight.house.gov/release/oversight-committee-releases-bombshell-report-exposing-rampant-fraud-plaguing-minnesotas-taxpayer-funded-social-programs/">lengthy report</a> accusing Walz and Minnesota Democratic Attorney General Keith Ellison of allowing their state to be systematically defrauded. The committee also accused Walz of targeting whistleblowers who tried to warn state officials about vulnerabilities in the system. 
“I’ve referred these allegations to DOJ’s new Fraud Division for criminal investigation,” Vance <a href="https://x.com/JDVance/status/2064146608518746499/photo/2">announced</a> on X. “Minnesota state officials are not above the law, and if they facilitated fraud, lied under oath about what they knew, or harassed and [intimidated] whistleblowers, they must face justice.”
Leading the Trump administration’s efforts to crack down on fraud, Vance sent the referral to Assistant Attorney General Colin McDonald, the head of the newly established National Fraud Enforcement Division. 
The 200-page report from the House Oversight Committee said that the Walz administration’s lax efforts to combat fraud led to $300 million in federal child nutrition aid being lost and put up to $9 billion in Medicaid-related funds in jeopardy. 
The committee said that Walz and Ellison were aware of major flaws in Minnesota’s administration of welfare benefits since 2019, but took no corrective action. Instead, Walz’s administration took action to target whistleblowers, the House report said. 
“If state officials in Minnesota or anywhere else in the country facilitated fraud or looked the other way while this theft was happening, if they actively prevented state and federal officials from stopping fraud and bringing fraudsters to justice, or if they intimidate and harassed whistleblowers who courageously tried to shine a light on the problem, they must be held accountable,” Vance wrote to McDonald. 
The Trump administration has focused on Minnesota in its anti-fraud crackdown. The White House shut down federal assistance payments to the state after independent journalist Nick Shirley published multiple videos showing apparent widespread fraud at so-called daycare centers. 
The administration is also taking action in Vance’s home state of Ohio after The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/medicaid-millionaires">reported</a> on Ohio’s administration of funds to questionable businesses that claim to administer home healthcare.

A California fraudster used a carbon-offset program to cover up a multi-year scheme that resulted in at least $248 million in losses to investors and lenders. 
Joseph Sanberg was <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/aspiration-partners-co-founder-sentenced-prison-248m-scheme-defraud-investors-and-lenders">sentenced</a> on Monday to 14 years in prison after pleading guilty to fraud-related charges connected to the company’s sustainability business. 
Aspiration originally operated as a financial technology company but later expanded into environmental services, including tree-planting and carbon-offset programs that turned out to be fraudulent. Theoretically, businesses could purchase these services to help offset their carbon emissions, but court documents say the intention to actually purchase those services was never there. 
Sanberg aligned himself with the Democratic Party in California, personally donating $11 million to back a ballot initiative to raise the state&#8217;s minimum wage to $18 an hour, The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/california-anti-poverty-activist-and-dem-mega-donor-pleads-guilty-to-massive-carbon-credit-scam">reported</a>. Ultimately, it would be California&#8217;s clean energy policies that would allow Sanberg to turn his company into a multi-million dollar fraud scheme.
He labeled himself as an &#8220;anti-poverty activist.&#8221; Bill Essayli, first assistant U.S. attorney of the Central District of California, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/california-anti-poverty-activist-and-dem-mega-donor-pleads-guilty-to-massive-carbon-credit-scam">said</a>, &#8220;This so-called ‘anti-poverty’ activist has admitted to being nothing more than a self-serving fraudster, by seeking to enrich himself by defrauding lenders and investors out of hundreds of millions of dollars.&#8221;
Prosecutors allege Sanberg’s “friends and associates” submitted letters of intent from various companies and individuals. Sanberg would then book the letters of intent as revenue, inflating Aspiration’s revenue and profits, which he would in turn use to advertise to investors and obtain millions in new Aspiration investments.
In some cases, Sanberg “went so far as to provide the money to his &#8216;customers&#8217; which they would then send to Aspiration.”
Court filings in separate litigation have also alleged that several entities connected to Sanberg&#8217;s associate, Kfir Gavrieli, signed agreements to purchase large amounts of sustainability services. Those entities allegedly included Gavrieli&#8217;s footwear company, a family-owned business, a synagogue, and other individuals or organizations. 
Employees raised concerns when the revenue suggested in the letters of intent was not collected. KPMG, one of the country&#8217;s largest auditing firms, resigned as Aspiration&#8217;s auditor in 2022, citing revenue transactions with characteristics of fraud. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) later <a href="https://www.sec.gov/files/litigation/complaints/2025/comp26382.pdf">alleged</a> that revenue tied to the letters of intent accounted for roughly $44 million of Aspiration&#8217;s $100.6 million in reported 2021 revenue. The SEC says that, as a result, Sanberg was able to raise more than $300 million from investors based on the false appearance of Aspiration as a booming sustainability business. 
Investigators were struck not only by the size of the alleged purchases, but by who was making them. Having Gavrieli as a customer raised eyebrows because it included organizations and individuals that appeared to have little need for large-scale carbon-offset purchases. 
A footwear company, typically, would not be required by California law to buy millions of trees or large volumes of carbon offsets, which caused the government to examine whether these were genuine commercial purchases. Typical participants of California’s carbon-offset program include oil refineries, industrial facilities, and natural gas suppliers. 
While Sanberg has already pleaded guilty in the Aspiration fraud case, allegations involving Gavrieli remain the subject of ongoing civil litigation in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Los Angeles. Court filings submitted by Dikla Gavrieli, Kfir&#8217;s sister and legal adversary, allege that Gavrieli and several entities connected to him participated in a scheme that helped create the appearance of strong demand for Aspiration&#8217;s tree-planting and sustainability services. Gavrieli has not been criminally charged in connection with the Aspiration fraud, and the allegations against him have not yet been proven in court.

A Democratic state senator said she almost cried after Daily Wire investigative reporter Luke Rosiak discussed his Medicaid fraud findings during congressional testimony on Wednesday.
Ohio Democratic state Sen. Nickie Antonio, whom lawmakers also questioned Wednesday, claimed that the hearing was full of &#8220;hateful rhetoric.&#8221;
&#8220;I was almost brought to tears just now because the rate and level of hateful rhetoric &#8230; the lack of humanity &#8230; I am shocked,” she said.

As part of his testimony before the House Task Force on Defending Constitutional Rights and Exposing Institutional Abuses led by Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX), Rosiak revealed that 100% of the companies he found suspected of Medicaid fraud were owned by foreigners. 
“You looked into hundreds of companies, and 100% you are telling me had names of a Somali, Bhutanese, or other sort of an African origin?” asked Gill. 
“Correct,” Rosiak answered. 
Earlier in the hearing, Rosiak explained that “Refugees are using [Medicaid] to bring money back to their home countries. So Congress created this program as medical aid and there are people turning it into foreign aid.” 
After Gill finished his line of questioning for Rosiak, he turned to Senator Antonio and asked her, “Has Somali immigration been good for your state?” 
&#8220;You know, that&#8217;s really outside of my purview of information,&#8221; she said.
Through his investigations, Rosiak found that Ohio spent roughly $1 billion on home healthcare services in 2024 alone, with most of the funds loosely monitored. The lack of oversight allowed relatives to receive taxpayer funding for providing in-home “personal services” such as cooking, cleaning, and companionship.
Rosiak found entire office buildings filled with Medicaid-billing home health companies, many run by individuals with little or no healthcare background, and in some cases, histories of fraud, unpaid debts, or criminal convictions.
At another point during the hearing, a Democratic lawmaker who did not have permission to attend the hearing <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-dem-shouts-over-daily-wires-luke-rosiak-calls-his-medicaid-fraud-findings-ridiculous">interrupted</a> Rosiak and called his findings &#8220;ridiculous.&#8221;
“I’m not waived in the committee, but this is ridiculous,” Rep. Shontel Brown (D-OH) exclaimed as Rosiak was in the middle of his testimony.
Brown, who represents Ohio’s 11th district covering Cleveland, is not even a member of the bipartisan task force, which includes six Republicans and four Democrats.

A furious Democratic lawmaker interrupted Daily Wire investigative reporter Luke Rosiak’s Capitol Hill testimony on Wednesday, shouting over Rosiak as he spoke about the massive Medicaid fraud he exposed as part of an explosive, multi-part <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/medicaid-millionaires-how-the-feds-pay-immigrants-billions-to-hang-out-with-their-families?author=Luke+Rosiak&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=5&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=DW+Investigation+Reveals+One+Of+The+Biggest+Government+Waste+Scandals+Hiding+In+Plain+Sight">investigation</a>.
“I&#8217;m not waiting on the committee, but this is ridiculous,” Rep. Shontel Brown (D-OH) exclaimed as Rosiak was in the middle of his testimony.

“This is not your committee. You are not recognized,&#8221; Chairman Gill responded. 
“This is absolutely absurd,” Brown replied. 
Another Democratic lawmaker jumped in, questioning the fairness of the hearing. 
“I hope you’re gonna be fair in this hearing,” Congresswoman Lateefah Simon (D-CA) said. 
On Wednesday, the House Task Force on Defending Constitutional Rights and Exposing Institutional Abuses held its first hearing, dubbed “Universal Basic Fraud: Vulnerabilities in Medicaid Waiver Programs.” Task Force Chairman Brandon Gill (R-TX) said the task force is “going after institutions that stopped fearing accountability and abused the American people.”

On Capitol Hill, <a href="https://x.com/greg_price11/status/2062182280001364241?s=20">tensions flared</a> as Rosiak detailed the scope and enablers of the rampant fraud.
“Companies are committing fraud by paying kickbacks for no-show jobs. The patients are committing fraud, but we&#8217;re just beginning to look into the root of the monster, the network of doctors who rubber-stamp this fraud,” Rosiak said. “That&#8217;s a criminal enterprise.” 
Republican members of the committee appeared more receptive to The Daily Wire’s reporting. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) entered all five of Rosiak’s investigative reports on fraud into the Congressional Record.

Before the chaos, Rosiak detailed how members of the Somali community in Columbus, Ohio, have exploited healthcare programs. 
“Whistleblowers in the area tell me companies knock on doors in ethnic neighborhoods where most people are on Medicaid, and most people live in multi-generational households, and they tell the older family member to go to particular doctors and plan particular symptoms,” Rosiak testified to the committee. “Then they will put the younger family member on their payroll with the parent as their only patient.”
&#8220;I visited hundreds of home healthcare companies and only saw, I think, two people who didn&#8217;t have an accent,&#8221; he added.
