The Trump administration ended an airport surveillance program on Thursday that it said had been “weaponized” by the Biden administration. 
The Department of Homeland Security said that it was closing down the Quiet Skies program because it had been used for political purposes and had not stopped any terrorist attacks. The Quiet Skies <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/publications/pia-tsa-spqs018i-april2019_1.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">program</a> was an initiative run by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) that flagged fliers deemed by intelligence officials to “pose an elevated security risk” for “enhanced screening” and potential observation by federal Air Marshals. 
“It is clear that the Quiet Skies program was used as a political rolodex of the Biden Administration — weaponized against its political foes and exploited to benefit their well-heeled friends. I am calling for a Congressional investigation to unearth further corruption at the expense of the American people and the undermining of US national security,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said. 
 “TSA&#8217;s critical aviation and security vetting functions will be maintained, and the Trump Administration will return TSA to its true mission of being laser-focused on the safety and security of the traveling public. This includes restoring the integrity, privacy, and equal application of the law for all Americans,” she added.

The program costs $200 million per year and has stopped zero terrorist attacks since its inception in 2010, according to Homeland Security. 
Noem said that enhanced Quiet Skies screening was wrongly placed on Biden administration critic Tulsi Gabbard, who is now the Director of National Intelligence, while she was campaigning for President Donald Trump. She added that preferential treatment was given to the husband of a Democratic senator. 
On Wednesday, Homeland Security claimed that William Shaheen, the husband of New Hampshire Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen, was given a blanket exemption from Quiet Skies after he was flagged for traveling “with a Known or Suspected Terrorist on three occasions.” The exception was granted after Senator Shaheen lobbied the federal government for her husband&#8217;s removal from the Quiet Skies list, according to the department. 
Shaheen has disputed those claims, saying that she was unaware that her husband was ever flagged as a security risk by the Quiet Skies program. 
&#8220;Senator Shaheen contacted the Transportation Security Administration after her husband was subjected to several extensive, invasive and degrading searches at airport checkpoints,&#8221; her office said. &#8220;Senator Shaheen sought to understand the nature and cause of these searches. Any suggestion that the senator&#8217;s husband was supposedly included on a Quiet Skies list is news to her and had never been raised before yesterday, nor was she aware of any action taken following her call to remove him from such a list.&#8221;
Noem called for Congress to open up an investigation into Quiet Skies in addition to her department’s internal probe.

The once cozy relationship between President Trump and Elon Musk is quickly deteriorating – on Thursday, the two men traded barbs on their respective social media platforms. In a series of Truth Social posts, the president said Elon was “wearing thin” and claimed he asked him to leave the White House. Trump implied that Elon was not actually mad about spending increases in the &#8220;Big, Beautiful Bill&#8221; and is instead lashing out at the Trump administration for revoking the Biden administration’s electric vehicle mandate. Trump says the Tesla CEO “just went crazy” after he lifted the mandate, which “forced everyone to buy electric cars that no one else wanted.”

Meanwhile, over on <a href="https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1930698237650026675">X</a>, Musk denied Trump’s claims, floated the idea of starting a new political party, and accused Trump of being in the Epstein files. He’s also pulling up past statements from Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) warning about the dangers of the national debt, essentially accusing both men of flip-flopping on what he’s now calling the “Big Ugly Spending Bill.”
The bill at the heart of the dispute narrowly passed through the House last month and is currently making its way through the Senate.
“I think the bill&#8217;s 90-95% there,” Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) told The Daily Wire. “The House has done a wonderful job trying to balance ultra-conservatives like me who want to work towards a balanced budget, as well as those people that are from blue or purple districts as well. I would like to see us cut a little bit more spending.”
The Congressional Budget Office says the bill will raise the deficit by $2.4 trillion over ten years – the White House disputes that figure, and argues that the CBO is under-predicting future economic growth and the additional revenue brought in by the president’s tariffs.

Topline: President Trump takes another swing at a sweeping travel ban. Will it survive legal challenges?
The president signed a proclamation on Wednesday banning nationals from 12 countries, including Afghanistan, the Congo, Haiti, Iran, Somalia, and Yemen, from entering the United States. That includes temporary visitors or those seeking permanent immigrant status. Seven more countries, including Venezuela and Cuba, will face a partial ban. While the order includes exemptions for existing visa holders and individuals whose entry “serves U.S. national interests” — presumably heads of state and other diplomats — just about everyone else looking to come from those countries will be kept out. The policy is reminiscent of a <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/trump-signs-proclamation-banning-travel-12-countries-cbs-news-reports-2025-06-04/">previous travel ban</a> Trump implemented during his first term.
In a <a href="https://x.com/WhiteHouse/status/1930412786271547485">video</a> announcing the order, the president cited the terror threat posed by individuals from those countries, pointing to past attacks in Europe and the United States and arguing that the travel ban was a matter of national security. “Among the national security threats [the U.S. State Department] analysis considered are the large-scale presence of terrorists, failure to cooperate on visa security, inability to verify travelers&#8217; identities, inadequate record keeping of criminal histories and persistently high rates of illegal visa overstays,” Trump said.
The White House offered <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/2024-10/24_1011_CBP-Entry-Exit-Overstay-Report-FY23-Data.pdf">specific numbers</a> on countries with particularly egregious rates of visa violations. For example, 29% of Afghans here on student or worker visas have overstayed those visas and now live here illegally. Likewise, 49% of B-1/B-2 visas issued to visitors from Chad resulted in similar overstays. Trump says those overstay rates are indicative of a “blatant disregard for United States immigration laws.”
“The list is subject to revision based on whether material improvements are made,” the president continued. “Likewise new countries can be added as threats emerge around the world, but we will not allow people to enter our country who wish to do us harm and nothing will stop us from keeping America safe.”
The ban is part of a broader crackdown on immigration enforcement. President Trump has reportedly been dissatisfied with the number of criminal illegals being arrested — it’s been widely reported that top White House adviser Stephen Miller met with ICE officials and threatened to fire top brass if they did not begin detaining at least 3,000 illegals a day. In response, ICE appears to be ramping up its efforts. On Tuesday, the agency made <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/06/04/us-news/ice-arrests-surge-to-2200-in-one-day-after-trump-adviser-stephen-miller-pushed-to-dramatically-ramp-up-busts/">2,200 arrests</a> — their highest single-day total in history.

Trump has ordered an investigation into the Biden administration&#8217;s use of the autopen, following new revelations about the apparent cover-up of Biden’s mental and physical decline during his tenure. The president signed a <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/06/reviewing-certain-presidential-actions/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">memo</a> calling on Attorney General Pam Bondi to lead an investigation into the Biden administration&#8217;s use of this autopen, which mechanically signed Biden’s signature on official documents.
The investigation will look at whether staffers, who are not named, &#8220;unconstitutionally&#8221; exercised the president’s authority while deceiving the public about Biden’s mental and physical state. It will look at which policy documents were signed by the autopen, and who directed the autopen to be used.
“The autopen, I think, is the big scandal outside of the rigged election of 2020,” Trump said on Thursday.
The <a href="https://x.com/GOPoversight/status/1930351332856345072?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">House Oversight Committee</a> also heard testimony this week on the validity of Biden&#8217;s executive orders and the possible abuse of the president&#8217;s autopen.
During Biden’s tenure, the White House issued more than 1,200 <a href="https://foxnews.com/category/politics/biden-executive-orders">presidential documents</a>, he appointed hundreds of judges to the federal bench, and issued more pardons and commutations than any administration in U.S. history. Trump’s memo also singles out Biden’s controversial decision to commute the sentences of dozens of dangerous criminals on federal death row, including mass murderers and child killers. Trump has previously highlighted Biden-era pardons, including that of Dr. Anthony Fauci, which he suggested was invalid because an autopen signed it.
In response, former President Joe Biden released a statement on Thursday that claimed he was the one who made the decisions about “pardons, executive orders, legislation, and proclamations,” adding that “any suggestion that I didn’t is ridiculous and false.”

Things are going so well for the Democratic Party that Karine Jean-Pierre, White House Press Secretary under Joe Biden and someone who clearly knew the man was no longer mentally capable, has now decided she&#8217;s no longer a Democrat; she is now an Independent.
I know, I know, it&#8217;s a little late to run away from the sinking ship, especially when you&#8217;re the person who actually drilled the holes. 
But Karine Jean-Pierre is now trying to do just that — and make money off of it. She has a brand-new book coming out titled “Independent,” which is hilarious coming from the least independent person of all time.
According to <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2025/06/04/karine-jean-pierre-leaving-democratic-party-00385060">Politico</a>:
<blockquote>Karine Jean-Pierre’s announcement that she’s leaving the Democratic Party — timed with the rollout of a new book — has detonated long-simmering grievances among her former White House colleagues about Jean-Pierre’s pursuit of celebrity and personal media exposure while serving as then-President Joe Biden’s press secretary.
The attention-grabbing ploy lit up Democratic and Biden alumni texting groups and reignited frustrations that burned for years about Jean-Pierre, according to seven former Biden administration officials granted anonymity to describe private conversations.</blockquote>
First of all, we should point out that everyone knew she was incompetent. For years I called her history’s worst White House Press Secretary because she was awful at her job, truly terrible, a joke.
And Democrats kept defending her.
Why? Because, of course, she was intersectional. She was a black lesbian who was also the White House Press Secretary even though she was wildly incompetent. We had a DEI hire covering for a dead man in the White House. And everyone in the Democratic Party thought this was perfectly fine until the moment it imploded on them.

Another former official said that Jean-Pierre had begun working during the Biden administration with a New York-based publicist and had copied that person on official emails before some of Jean-Pierre’s White House colleagues intervened. “Everyone thinks this is a grift,” the first former official said of Jean-Pierre’s book project.</blockquote>
This is objective reporting because it happens to be true:
<blockquote>As Biden’s press secretary, Jean-Pierre’s halting, ineffectual briefings exasperated reporters and routinely offered material for the Republican Party’s main account on X. She frustrated colleagues throughout the West Wing for focusing on raising her own profile while leaving the hands-on management of media relations and the White House press shop to other aides. 
While it’s unclear how she will portray Biden or her time in the White House in the book, titled ‘Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines,’ several former colleagues expressed confusion at how Jean-Pierre seemingly intends to paint Biden as a victim while pinning her own decision to leave the party on his “broken” White House.</blockquote>
This is going to be fun to watch Democrats tear each other apart over all of this.
This self-sabotage of the Democratic Party is the realistic response of a party of people who can&#8217;t build things. And right now, they are facing down a relatively impregnable Trump administration.
They&#8217;ve decided not to attack any of the vulnerabilities of the Trump administration. They&#8217;re spending all their time focusing inward, and they can&#8217;t help but do so because the reality is that their own politics are so broken and so angry and vicious and just anti-American in so many ways that they&#8217;re just tearing one another apart.

It wasn&#8217;t so long ago that the absolute worst thing the government could do to a child — according to pretty much every expert, NGO and media mouthpiece on the planet — was to put that child in a &#8220;cage.&#8221; That was, as you probably remember, a major line of attack during the first Trump administration. The consensus was that Donald Trump was so evil and so unhinged that, simply for his own personal amusement, he instructed immigration officials to incarcerate children in the worst conditions imaginable, like they were animals. Things were so bad that AOC wept outside of an empty parking lot near an immigrant detention facility. Lin Manuel Miranda sang a lullaby for the Mexican children. Oprah, Rihanna, John Legend, George Clooney — the luminaries of our time — came together to formally condemn the Trump administration.
In response, conservatives made the case that children weren&#8217;t actually being placed in &#8220;cages&#8221; of any kind. They also pointed out that the alleged &#8220;cages&#8221; predated the Trump administration. And that was all true. 
The strongest argument, however, was actually pretty simple. Democrats couldn&#8217;t answer the following question: How exactly would a Democrat-run administration handle tens of thousands of children who are apprehended attempting to enter this country illegally at the border? If they weren&#8217;t going to deport the children, or use Obama&#8217;s &#8220;cages,&#8221; then what exactly would they do? What&#8217;s the alternative? We all knew that Biden couldn&#8217;t use the cages, because now Democrats are saying cages are evil. So what would Biden&#8217;s administration ultimately do?
As it turns out, a big part of their solution was to place unaccompanied minors inside the homes of people they called &#8220;sponsors.&#8221; So if a minor attempted to enter this country alone, or if their father was being prosecuted for a serious crime, the Biden administration would try to find someone for these minors to live with, inside of this country. They wouldn&#8217;t simply deport the children. They also wouldn&#8217;t put them in a secure government facility or a &#8220;cage.&#8221; Instead, they&#8217;d house them with an adult.
Of course, the &#8220;perverse incentives&#8221; in this situation are off the charts. The Biden administration was effectively encouraging children to cross the border without a legal guardian, because then they&#8217;d be allowed into the country instead of being deported with their families. And predictably, foreigners caught on to this situation. The number of unaccompanied minors attempting to enter this country increased by more than 100% under Biden, to more than 130,000 children per year. But it was all necessary, the Biden administration said, to avoid placing children in cages. Instead, they&#8217;d all be going to &#8220;sponsors.&#8221;

A year ago, the HHS secretary at the time was asked about this program. And he conceded that, once children were handed off to sponsors, the Biden administration had no idea what happened to them. They completely lost track of these children. And they knew this would happen, because they understood that they didn&#8217;t have any legal authority to follow-up on the whereabouts of the children. It&#8217;s almost as if they intentionally pawned these children off as quickly as they possibly could, to make them go away. They said this was supposedly the more &#8220;humane&#8221; approach. It&#8217;s not exactly the most reassuring testimony. He&#8217;s admitting that the federal government has handed off tens of thousands of children to adults who, in many cases, are not even related to them. And then he&#8217;s acknowledging that the government has no idea what happened next. That&#8217;s because the HHS, which is overseeing this whole program, isn&#8217;t a law enforcement agency. They have no power whatsoever. They&#8217;re not remotely capable — legally or practically — of figuring out what actually happened to these children that the government relocated. 
And on top of that, Kamala Harris and other Democrats made sure to block HHS from informing local schools about the children. In other words, because of the deliberate policy choices of the Democrat Party, there was no way for anyone, even school districts, to verify that the children were attending school. Teachers couldn&#8217;t check up on them. So what were all of the kids doing? What was happening to them?
Thanks to new reporting from the group &#8220;Illegal Alien Crimes,&#8221; as well as The Daily Wire&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/author/luke-rosiak">Luke Rosiak</a>, we now have some more clarity on this question. And the answer is far more horrifying than any &#8220;cage&#8221; could possibly be. It turns out that, in effect, the Biden administration launched a human trafficking operation. That was their solution to &#8220;kids in cages.&#8221; Instead, now we have &#8220;kids being forced to live with sexual abusers.&#8221;
The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/teen-molested-by-illegal-alien-who-biden-admin-sent-her-to-live-with-police-say">reports</a>: 
<blockquote>A 37-year-old illegal immigrant man was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing at least one teen girl who the federal government sent to live with him as part of the Biden administration’s scheme to place &#8216;unaccompanied alien children&#8217; in the homes of unrelated, loosely-vetted &#8216;sponsors.&#8217; &#8230;Wilson Manfredo Lopez-Carillo was arrested by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office in Florida on May 22 and charged with three counts of sexual assault on a minor.</blockquote>
This is the level of &#8220;vetting&#8221; that HHS conducted during the Biden administration, to make sure that the &#8220;sponsors&#8221; had the best interests of the children in mind. Of course, there wasn&#8217;t any way to vet this guy, or check his record or anything like that, because he was *also* an illegal alien. In other words, yes, the Biden administration housed a 16-year-old girl with a 37-year-old illegal alien, who had already broken our laws to enter this country. They put her with a known criminal who they could not vet in any meaningful way.
If you pull up the probable cause affidavit, you&#8217;ll find that these alleged sexual assaults took place in February of last year. The victim arrived in this country in August of 2023. So within about six months, she was attacked several times in the &#8220;home&#8221; that the Biden administration set her up with.

The other thing you&#8217;ll notice, as you look at this probable cause statement, is that at least a third of the document is redacted. There&#8217;s a lot of information that&#8217;s not being disclosed here. To be sure, there are probably legitimate reasons for these redactions in some cases. We&#8217;re talking about a very sensitive case involving a minor, after all. But it&#8217;s enough to make you wonder whether we&#8217;ll ever receive anything approaching a full accounting for what the Biden administration has done here. 
What we know for sure is that the scale of this particular human trafficking operation is staggering. Late last year, the DHS inspector general under the Biden administration disclosed that something like 300,000 minors are unaccounted for. And even the minors who are &#8220;accounted for,&#8221; in some cases, are raising very obvious concerns. 
For example, the inspector general <a href="https://www.oig.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/assets/2024-08/OIG-24-46-Aug24.pdf">pointed out</a> that:

In other words, the Biden administration placed this unaccompanied minor inside of a household, and then the husband start abusing the minor, causing the woman to complain to federal authorities. And in response, federal authorities did absolutely nothing. And this kind of thing happens a lot.

<blockquote>ICE E.R.O. [Enforcement and Removal Operations] has no authority over [unaccompanied children] beyond managing their immigration cases. Therefore, even if ICE were to identify [unaccompanied children] in unsafe conditions, the agency has limited authority to respond. ICE personnel at two field offices affirmed this and explained they had identified [unaccompanied children] in unsafe conditions but were unable to intervene.</blockquote>
Unfortunately the report doesn&#8217;t go into any more detail on that point. You&#8217;d think that, if illegal alien children were suspected of living in unsafe conditions, after the federal government placed them in a household full of other illegals, it would be pretty easy to kick the door down and investigate. But apparently, these children have just fallen through the cracks. No agency wants to assert jurisdiction. And of course, whenever anyone in Congress tried to press for answers, the Biden administration stonewalled, because in the end, all of this was deliberate.
Last November, for example, Louisiana senator Bill Cassidy tried to conduct an audit into the status of these unaccompanied children. <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2024/11/19/biden-obstructing-migrant-child-investigations/">From The Daily Caller</a>: 
<blockquote>HHS would repeatedly take months to respond to [Cassidy&#8217;s] requests — and sometimes the department would not respond at all. &#8230; HHS officials also stonewalled state investigators when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis demanded answers. .. DeSantis — in response to findings that alien children smuggled into Florida were being sexually exploited or used for trafficking in drugs and weapons — petitioned the Florida Supreme Court to investigate criminal activity related to the smuggling of unaccompanied alien children from the U.S.-Mexico border into Florida. ..However, HHS allegedly &#8216;refused&#8217; to provide witnesses or documents to a grand jury, ignored subpoenas and &#8216;actively encouraged&#8217; Florida entities that contract with [federal immigration] officials to not cooperate with investigators.</blockquote>
Predictably, nearly a decade after the fake outrage over &#8220;kids in cages,&#8221; there has been no concern whatsoever from any political figure or media outlet on the Left about any of this. There&#8217;s no outrage about the fact that the Biden administration, fresh off the moral outrage over the &#8220;kids in cages,&#8221; constructed an elaborate human trafficking operation with a code of silence that rivals any mafia.
Keep that in mind, the next time you&#8217;re told that some policy you support is supposedly horrific or barbaric or racist or whatever. When people tell you that, ask them what the alternative is. And if they can&#8217;t answer, it&#8217;s a pretty good sign that, in their quest to score some political points, they&#8217;re willing to endorse evils beyond all comprehension. That&#8217;s the bargain Democrats made under Joe Biden. And now, locked away with &#8220;sponsors&#8221; who no one can track, there are tens of thousands of children who are suffering every day as a result.
If you needed another reason to support mass deportations, that&#8217;s a pretty big one. At the very least, deporting some of these sponsors would help break up one of the largest human trafficking rings ever created — the one the Biden administration spun up right here in the United States. In the end, the only sustainable solution is a secure border — one that&#8217;s ruthlessly enforced in a way that might make some liberal women uncomfortable. Unless we want tens of thousands more children to suffer untold horrors with their &#8220;sponsors,&#8221; we simply have no other choice.

The Trump White House is doing a complete 180 from the Biden administration&#8217;s focus on LGBT issues. While Trump celebrated &#8220;Pride Month&#8221; with a tweet in 2019, he <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc-out/president-trump-misses-pride-month-third-time-n1222441">never issued</a> a presidential proclamation for the LGBT festivities.
President Joe Biden, meanwhile, took the &#8220;Pride Month&#8221; celebration to a new level, releasing <a href="https://bidenwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/2024/05/31/a-proclamation-on-lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender-queer-and-intersex-pride-month-2024/">proclamations</a> each year he was in office and hosting LGBT activists and social media personalities at the White House.
During a &#8220;Pride Month&#8221; party on the White House lawn in 2023, a transgender activist named Rose Montoya, a man who identifies as a woman, met with Biden at the party before <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-faces-backlash-after-trans-activist-goes-topless-at-white-house-pride-event-a-disgrace-to-our-country">appearing topless</a> on video with his hands covering his breast implants. The Biden administration later <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trans-activist-who-went-topless-at-wh-event-apologizes-calls-people-who-spoke-out-vile">called</a> the act &#8220;inappropriate and disrespectful,&#8221; and Montoya apologized.

Throughout his presidency, Biden pushed radical policies on LGBT issues, especially regarding children. In 2022, Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-directs-hhs-to-expand-access-to-transgender-care-including-for-children">signed</a> an executive order to expand adults&#8217; and children&#8217;s access to radical gender procedures while condemning Republican-led states for clamping down on those same procedures on minors. In 2024, just a few months before the election, and as public opinion on the issue shifted, the Biden administration came out in <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/28/health/transgender-surgery-biden.html">opposition</a> to gender surgeries on children.
In his first four months in office, Trump has taken a sledgehammer to the most radical parts of the LGBT movement, <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/protecting-children-from-chemical-and-surgical-mutilation/">pushing</a> to protect children from life-altering gender procedures and prevent men from competing in women&#8217;s sports.
&#8220;The erasure of sex in language and policy has a corrosive impact not just on women but on the validity of the entire American system. Basing Federal policy on truth is critical to scientific inquiry, public safety, morale, and trust in government itself,&#8221; the White House wrote in Trump&#8217;s order, titled &#8220;Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.&#8221;

The Supreme Court ruled on Friday that the Trump administration can revoke protected status for more than 500,000 migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela from deportations.
The unsigned decision was not a final ruling on the case, but it will allow the Trump administration to continue its mass deportation efforts as an appeal of the president&#8217;s order plays out in the courts, The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/30/us/politics/trump-immigration-supreme-court.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. Justices Ketanji Brown Jackson and Sonia Sotomayor signed onto a written dissent, arguing that the court&#8217;s decision would have “the devastating consequences of allowing the government to precipitously upend the lives and livelihoods of nearly half a million noncitizens while their legal claims are pending.&#8221;
The ruling centers on former President Joe Biden&#8217;s humanitarian parole program that allowed migrants from certain countries facing instability to enter the United States and quickly receive work authorization. On day one in office, President Donald Trump signed an executive order calling for the end of the migrant parole program, and the Department of Homeland Security responded by moving to terminate the program in March, Reuters <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-revokes-legal-status-530000-cubans-haitians-nicaraguans-venezuelans-2025-03-21/">reported</a>.
Biden opened up the United States to thousands of Venezuelans in 2022 and then to Cubans, Haitians, and Nicaraguans in 2023. After Trump moved to revoke the protected status for these migrants, lawyers representing many of the migrants sued, arguing that Trump&#8217;s &#8220;actions are not only illegal, but shockingly callous.&#8221; Biden&#8217;s parole program also extended to around 240,000 Ukrainians, but the Trump administration has not yet sought to revoke protected status for the Ukrainians fleeing the war.

The Trump administration&#8217;s move to terminate the parole program was paused by a federal judge in Massachusetts in March, and that pause was upheld by an appeals court earlier this month. Solicitor General D. John Sauer argued in a May 8 emergency application to the Supreme Court that DHS Secretary Kristi Noem has “broad discretion over categories of immigration determinations” and has the power to revoke the protected status recognized under Biden&#8217;s parole program, according to the Times.
Sauer <a href="https://www.supremecourt.gov/DocketPDF/24/24A1079/358354/20250508121118618_Kristi_Noem_v_Svitlana_Doe_et_al_%20application_stay.pdf">wrote</a> that the district court upended &#8220;critical immigration policies that are carefully calibrated to deter illegal entry, vitiating core Executive Branch prerogatives, and undoing democratically approved policies that featured heavily in the November election.&#8221;
The Supreme Court&#8217;s Friday decision is its second ruling this month that allows Trump to seek the removal of migrants from the United States as an appeals process plays out. On May 19, the Supreme Court <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/scotus-allows-trump-to-end-temporary-protected-status-for-certain-migrants">ruled</a> 8-1 that the Trump administration can remove Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for around 350,000 Venezuelan migrants who were allowed to remain in the United States under the Biden administration.

President Donald Trump announced Monday that he was pardoning a Virginia sheriff sentenced to 10 years in prison on bribery charges, saying the Biden administration had politically targeted the former law enforcement officer. 
In a Truth Social post, Trump said he was issuing a full pardon to former Culpeper County Sheriff Scott Jenkins, who was convicted in December 2024 on charges that he handed out auxiliary deputy positions for money. Jenkins, who was set to report to prison on Tuesday, disputed the accusation and conviction, saying the prosecution was motivated by his conservative views. 
“Sheriff Scott Jenkins, his wife Patricia, and their family have been dragged through HELL by a Corrupt and Weaponized Biden DOJ. In fact, during his trial, when Sheriff Jenkins tried to offer exculpatory evidence to support himself, the Biden Judge, Robert Ballou, refused to allow it, shut him down, and then went on a tirade,” Trump wrote. “As we have seen, in Federal, City, and State Courts, Radical Left or Liberal Judges allow into evidence what they feel like, not what is mandated under the Constitution and Rules of Evidence.” 
“This Sheriff is a victim of an overzealous Biden Department of Justice, and doesn’t deserve to spend a single day in jail. He is a wonderful person, who was persecuted by the Radical Left ‘monsters,’ and ‘left for dead.’ This is why I, as President of the United States, see fit to end his unfair sentence, and grant Sheriff Jenkins a FULL and Unconditional Pardon. He will NOT be going to jail tomorrow, but instead will have a wonderful and productive life,” Trump added. 
Jenkins first made national headlines back in 2019 when he promised to deputize thousands of Culpeper residents if the Democrat-controlled Virginia legislature moved forward with strict gun control measures. 
“Every Sheriff and Commonwealth Attorney in Virginia will see the consequences if our General Assembly passes further unnecessary gun restrictions,” Jenkins <a href="https://wset.com/news/local/culpeper-sheriff-says-hell-deputize-residents-if-gun-laws-pass-in-virginia?utm_source=chatgpt.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> on Facebook at the time. “I plan to properly screen and deputize thousands of our law-abiding citizens to protect their constitutional right to own firearms.”
He also later <a href="https://www.dailysignal.com/2025/04/17/law-enforcement-rallies-around-virginia-sheriff-caught-sting-operation-defying-democrats/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">participated</a> in a phone call with other sheriffs discussing potential charges against Hunter Biden based on revelations from the laptop showing his drug use and questionable business dealings. 
After that call, Jenkins was wrapped up in a sting operation where federal prosecutors <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-wdva/pr/former-culpeper-sheriff-sentenced-10-years-federal-bribery-charges" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> that he accepted cash bribes in the form of campaign contributions, including from two undercover FBI agents, in exchange for becoming auxiliary deputy sheriffs. 
In December 2024, Jenkins was convicted by a jury that found he took $75,000 in campaign donations in exchange for handing out auxiliary deputy badges. According to the Justice Department, those who bribed Jenkins were not trained or vetted and did not do legitimate law enforcement work. He was sentenced in March to 10 years in prison. 
“Scott Jenkins violated his oath of office and the faith the citizens of Culpeper County placed in him when he engaged in a cash-for-badges scheme,” Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Virginia Zachary Lee said at the time. “We hold our elected law enforcement officials to a higher standard of conduct and this case proves that when those officials use their authority for unjust personal enrichment, the Department of Justice will hold them accountable.”
After the trial, Jenkins maintained his innocence and said that he wasn’t given the opportunity to give his side of the story. 
&#8220;I truly believe if I could get an hour of time with someone in the administration and lay out some facts with my attorney and I really believe if they could hear the other side which I couldn&#8217;t get in front of the jury – I believe whole heartedly in the president,&#8221; he said during a video call. &#8220;I believe if he heard the information, I know he would help if he knew my story.&#8221;

On Thursday, the GOP-led Senate voted to overturn a Biden administration move that powered California&#8217;s green energy agenda for cars and trucks that 11 other states have <a href="https://ww2.arb.ca.gov/our-work/programs/advanced-clean-cars-program/states-have-adopted-californias-vehicle-regulations" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sought</a> to adopt.
Fifty Republicans and one Democrat <a href="https://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_votes/vote1191/vote_119_1_00277.htm#position" target="_blank" rel="noopener">banded together</a> to revoke the Clean Air Act waiver the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) <a href="https://www.axios.com/2024/12/18/epa-california-electric-vehicles-waiver" target="_blank" rel="noopener">granted</a> in December to the Golden State that allowed it to proceed with a plan to ban the sale of new gas-powered light-duty vehicles by 2035.
Because the Republican-controlled House already <a href="https://clerk.house.gov/Votes/2025114?Date=05%2F01%2F2025" target="_blank" rel="noopener">passed</a> the resolution of disapproval, the measure now heads to President Donald Trump. California has signaled that it is prepared to file a legal challenge.
Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), who is the chairwoman of the Environment and Public Works Committee, spearheaded the effort in the upper chamber to repeal the waiver.
&#8220;The impact of California’s waiver would have been felt across the country, harming multiple sectors of our economy and costing hundreds of thousands of jobs in the process,&#8221; Capito said in a <a href="https://www.capito.senate.gov/news/press-releases/senate-passes-capito-resolution-to-end-californias-ev-mandate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a>. &#8220;I’m proud to have led this effort to protect American workers and consumers from this radical and drastic policy.&#8221;
President Donald Trump weighed in on the issue during his presidential campaign at a rally in Saginaw, Michigan.
“When I&#8217;m president, no state in America will be permitted to ban gas-powered cars or trucks, and I guarantee it,&#8221; Trump said.
Senate Republicans used the Congressional Review Act (CRA), which allows bypassing a filibuster to undo regulations, to pass the resolution. Under this process, Lawmakers also voted to strike down waivers related to emissions for heavier-duty vehicles.
The Government Accountability Office (<a href="https://www.gao.gov/products/b-337179" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GAO</a>) and Senate <a href="https://thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/5233436-senate-parliamentarian-says-lawmakers-cant-overturn-california-car-rules-but-republicans-may-try-anyway/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">parliamentarian</a> advised that the waivers are not rules that qualify for CRA, but The Hill <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/5312952-thune-creates-procedure-ev-mandate/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> on how Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) used a series of procedural votes to alleviate concerns by some of his GOP colleagues.
On X, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) accused Republicans of trying to &#8220;appease the fossil fuel industry.&#8221; He also <a href="https://x.com/SenSchumer/status/1925290705502577129" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> they were &#8220;hijacking the CRA process in a way that’s never been done before&#8221; and warned: &#8220;What goes around when you’re in the majority comes around when you’re back in the minority.&#8221;
The one Democrat who joined with Republicans and spurned California was Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI).
&#8220;Today, I voted to prevent California and the states that follow its standard from effectively banning gas-powered cars by 2035,&#8221; she <a href="https://x.com/SenatorSlotkin/status/1925590423944257939" target="_blank" rel="noopener">declared</a> in a statement. &#8220;Michigan is the auto capital of the world, and as Michigan&#8217;s U.S. Senator, I have a special responsibility to stand up for the more than one million Michiganders whose livelihoods depend on the U.S. auto industry.&#8221;
California Attorney General Rob Bonta, a Democrat, <a href="https://x.com/AGRobBonta/status/1925624592481026347" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> his state was ready to fight in court.
&#8220;Since the Senate is caving to the Trump Admin’s demands, we will sue to protect California’s longstanding authority to maintain clean vehicle standards,&#8221; Bonta said. &#8220;President Trump may be playing partisan games with lives and good paying jobs on the line — but California won’t back down.&#8221;

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced Thursday that he was moving a historic painting of Jesus back to a “place of prominence” at the Merchant Marine Academy after the Biden administration relegated it to the basement, he told The Daily Wire. 
Duffy said in a video addressed to midshipmen that the World War II-era painting “Christ on the Water,” which depicts Jesus Christ appearing to sailors adrift at sea, would be returning to its original location at the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York. The Biden administration moved the painting from its decades-old location to the basement in 2023 after a complaint that its presence violated the Constitution. 
“We are moving Jesus out of the basement. To all the great midshipmen at the Merchant Marine Academy, you let me know how important this painting was to all of you,&#8221; Duffy said in the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/H0WJQyB83JA?si=rnn8AtzLAifg94VN%22" target="_blank" rel="noopener">video</a>, which was shared with The Daily Wire. &#8220;Now, we all know it was taken out of a place of prominence and put in down in the basement.&#8221;
Duffy, whose Maritime Administration operates the academy, said he was working with leadership at the institution to facilitate the move.
“I worked with the Academy, and because this is such a historic painting, I’m announcing that through that work with the academy, this painting is going to go from the basement back to its place of prominence. It will be a moment to celebrate,” the devout Catholic said.

&#8220;Christ on the Water&#8221; was completed in 1944 by artist Hunter Wood, who joined the Coast Guard just 10 days after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Wood saw action in North Africa before working on a Coast Guard Combat Artist Unit. In 1947, his painting was installed at the Merchant Marine Academy’s Wiley Hall Elliot See Room. It was displayed at that location for almost 80 years, when the Biden administration moved it because of a complaint from the Military Religious Freedom Foundation.  
Duffy said that the painting will be returned to its original location the Elliot See Room. Last month, he received a vigorous round of applause from midshipmen at the Merchant Marine Academy after he called for they painting to be restore to its original location. 
“Can we bring Jesus up from the basement?” Duffy said. “Let’s not put Jesus in the basement! Let’s get Him out! Let’s bring Him up!”

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ted-cruz-backs-trump-officials-attempt-to-bring-jesus-up-from-the-basement-literally">sent a letter</a> last week to Duffy, praising him for the plans to move the painting and noting that there were no Constitutional reasons to keep the painting out of public view. Cruz said returning the painting would be an important step to protecting America&#8217;s religious heritage.

Senator Ted Cruz praised Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy for promising to restore a historic painting of Jesus comforting sailors adrift at sea back to a place of prominence in the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy after the Biden administration moved it to a basement.
Cruz thanked Duffy on Friday for his commitment to moving the 81-year-old painting, “Christ On The Water,” back to its original location at the academy. In a letter to Duffy obtained by The Daily Wire, Cruz said that restoring the painting, which depicts Jesus appearing to sailors lost at sea during World War II, was an imperative step to protect America’s religious heritage. 
“Your public acknowledgment of the painting’s spiritual and historical significance was a powerful moment of moral clarity and leadership—one that resonated not only with the midshipmen in attendance, but with countless Americans who care deeply about preserving our nation’s religious and military heritage,” Cruz wrote. 
Last month, Duffy was met with a round of applause at the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York, after he called for the painting to be moved out of the basement. The Transportation Department&#8217;s Maritime Administration operates the academy, and gives direction over its policies and management. 
&#8220;Can we bring Jesus up from the basement?&#8221; Duffy said. &#8220;Let&#8217;s not put Jesus in the basement! Let&#8217;s get Him out! Let&#8217;s bring Him up!&#8221;

&#8220;Christ On the Water&#8221; was completed in 1944 by artist Hunter Wood, who trained at the Merchant Marine Academy and was in the Coast Guard. In 1947 the painting was installed at the Merchant Marine Academy’s Wiley Hall Elliot See Room where it was displayed until 2023 when the Biden administration moved it because of a complaint from the Military Religious Freedom Foundation.

“Your statement—&#8217;Can we bring Jesus up from the basement?’—was more than rhetorical. I trust it will be seen as an imperative,” Cruz wrote. “Thank you for your principled leadership, for defending our nation’s religious heritage, and for working to ensure that this government-commissioned memorial is returned to its rightful place.”
Cruz said the removal of the painting had no legal basis and was an example of the academy being &#8220;hostile to religion.&#8221;
“Its sudden concealment in 2023—done hastily in response to a single baseless complaint—did a great disservice to the Academy’s heritage and to the memory of those the painting was meant to honor. To this day, no legal rationale has been provided, and the painting is reportedly out of public view in a flood-prone basement,” Cruz said. 
In January 2023, the academy covered the painting with a sheet to avoid the perception that it was &#8220;endorsing&#8221; Christianity, following complaints about the painting.
&#8220;Our priority is to ensure the Academy is a welcoming environment for all and that it respects all religions without endorsing one over any others,&#8221; the academy said at the time. &#8220;In light of this, the Academy has chosen to cover the painting with curtains and will also install a plaque describing its history. The curtains will remain closed when official Academy meetings and events are conducted.&#8221;
Later, the academy decided to discontinue the use of the Elliot See Room for official business and moved the painting to a downstairs chapel area.
Cruz previously wrote to Academy Superintendent Joanna Nunan to argue that displaying the painting did not violate the Constitution, as Military Religious Freedom Foundation President Mikey Weinstein has argued. 
Weinstein has <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKmyF-KUpTY" target="_blank" rel="noopener">promised</a> to start “World War Eight” if the painting is moved back to its previous location, warning the Trump administration to “Eff around and find out.” Weinstein called Duffy a “piece of s***” and said the midshipmen who cheered Duffy were “cowards” who “made a mockery” of their oath to the Constitution.

“While we work on getting the piece out of the academy’s basement and back in a place of prominence, I figured there was no better place to hang a copy than right here @USDOT,” he wrote.

One of the most commonly prescribed abortion pharmaceuticals in the United States today is one of the most dangerous substances in the world, according to groundbreaking new research. Sadly, it&#8217;s not as polarizing a product as Ozempic or vaccines.
According to a <a href="https://eppc.org/news/largest-ever-study-of-abortion-pill-reveals-shocking-number-of-adverse-events/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bombshell new study</a> using real-world data, the abortion pill is physically wounding thousands of women per year.
When the Food &amp; Drug Administration approved the abortion pill – mifepristone or Mifeprex – it was on the basis that clinical trials had shown a serious adverse event rate of less than 0.5%.
But the new research, which analyzed 865,727 mifepristone abortions between 2017-2023, found a serious adverse event rate of 11%. That&#8217;s twenty-two times higher than the figure cited on the drug label.
These adverse events are not mere side effects. Hemorrhage, sepsis, infection, cardiac distress, and incomplete abortions are part of the laundry list of complications suffered by women within 45 days of taking the abortion pill.
The figures come from an all-payer health claims database. Insurance companies don&#8217;t pay for things that didn&#8217;t happen. The research was published by the Ethics &amp; Public Policy Center, which has promised more is to come.
If these serious adverse events were caused by a common antibiotic or a diabetes medication, media outrage and mass public uproar would ensue. 
Reckless conduct in the service of political ideology got us here. In the final year of the Obama administration, the Department of Health and Human Services watered down safety regulations. They allowed the abortion pill to be prescribed by non-physicians, taken at home away from the watchful eye of medical professionals, and extended the maximum gestational age at which a child could be aborted from seven weeks to ten weeks.
The Biden administration took this ghoulish crusade a step further. In 2023, they removed virtually all safeguards to the extent that a woman can now order abortion pills online, take them at home, risk bleeding out, flush her aborted child down the toilet, and go it alone, all without ever seeing a doctor.
It is up to the new Trump administration to restore some sanity. President Trump has been notoriously fickle on abortion, as has his HHS secretary, Robert F. Kennedy.

Both Kennedy and newly-installed FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary have expressed a commitment to prioritizing women&#8217;s safety in regard to the abortion pill. Upon questioning from Sen. Steve Daines of Montana during his confirmation hearings, Kennedy promised to study the abortion pill and take action on any new developments. Dr. Makary has expressed similar rhetoric, although he <a href="https://www.semafor.com/article/04/24/2025/fdas-marty-makary-no-plans-to-pull-abortion-pill-mifepristone">stated</a> in late April that he had &#8220;no plans&#8221; to restrict the pill until the data could be examined thoroughly.
The question now is whether health and safety will take priority over abortion absolutism. There are too many women suffering silently for the administration to do nothing.

President Joe Biden&#8217;s floating pier — which was touted as a way to get humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza — resulted in the death of one American service member and injuries to 62 more, damaging $31 million worth of military equipment in the process.
A new <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/bidens-gaza-pier-injured-far-more-troops-than-previously-known-2025-05-07/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> from the Pentagon Inspector General — which was published on Tuesday — revealed that far more service members had been injured than previously indicated. The report also noted the extent of the damage to military equipment despite the fact that the pier was not even operational for a full three weeks.
Biden announced his administration&#8217;s plan to build the pier during his 2024 State of the Union Address in March, and as was noted in a review published in August of 2024 by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Office of the Inspector General, he had ignored warnings from federal aid workers and pushed ahead with the $230 million project anyway.
Biden had <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/05/07/world-news/biden-gaza-pier-fiasco-left-62-us-forces-injured-one-dead-and-caused-31m-in-damages-report/?utm_campaign=nypost&amp;utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=social" target="_blank" rel="noopener">promised</a> that the pier would allow for the delivery of enough food and supplies to sustain some 1.5 million Palestinian civilians for several months — but before the project was abandoned, less than one-third of that had been delivered.
