Vermont&#8217;s socialist senator was <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2026/03/27/sen-bernie-sanders-catches-first-class-flight-after-funding-bill-fails/?adid=social-tw">spotted</a> in first class on a 2:49 p.m. flight out of Reagan National Airport Friday afternoon — minutes after House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) vowed to reject the partial Department of Homeland Security funding bill Sanders and his colleagues in the upper chamber had passed around 2:00 a.m.
About an hour after Sanders&#8217;s flight took off, President Donald Trump entered the fray on Johnson&#8217;s side, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-kills-senate-bill-to-re-open-dhs-without-ice-funding?author=Cameron+Arcand&amp;category=undefined&amp;elementPosition=1&amp;row=3&amp;rowHeadline=Latest+News&amp;rowType=Vertical+Carousel&amp;title=Trump+Kills+Senate+Bill+To+Re-Open+DHS+Without+ICE+Funding">saying</a> the Senate bill — which carved ICE and Border Patrol out of DHS funding — &#8220;wasn&#8217;t appropriate.&#8221; Emboldened by the president, the House late Friday night rejected the Senate&#8217;s bill, instead passing a separate measure that would fund the entire Department of Homeland Security for 60 days.
What happens next is unclear, as Sanders wasn&#8217;t the only senator to skip town after the final vote. The Senate adjourned Friday for a two-week recess, and has no plans to reconvene before its planned April 13 return. As of Saturday morning, the partial shutdown of DHS has become the longest funding lapse in American history, surpassing 2025&#8217;s record-breaking government shutdown.
Sanders&#8217;s first-class escape makes him the latest lawmaker to be dinged for aerial hypocrisy amid the ongoing shutdown. As Americans waited up to four hours in TSA lines, members of Congress were often able to skip the lines entirely, making use of a perk exclusive to lawmakers. Delta Air Lines earned praise for suspending its special &#8220;congressional desk,&#8221; but as The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/did-delta-stop-vip-treatment-for-congress-its-complicated?author=Brecca+Stoll&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=3&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Did+Delta+Stop+VIP+Treatment+For+Congress%3F+It%E2%80%99s+Complicated.">reported</a>, lawmakers were still able to skip the security lines.
About 20 minutes before his flight departed, <a href="https://x.com/BernieSanders/status/2037594741273989383?s=20">Sanders took to X</a> to slam Elon Musk and &#8220;the wealthiest people in the world&#8221; for their views on AI. The senator is often criticized for railing against the wealthy, considering he himself is a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bloomberg-nails-socialist-bernie-youre-a-millionaire-with-3-houses">millionaire</a> who owns three homes.
On Saturday, Sanders will attend a &#8220;No Kings&#8221; rally in St. Paul, Minnesota — an event organized to protest Trump, an elected official.

The communist dictatorship in Cuba has never been closer to collapse. Thankfully, the cadre of leftist American activists and influencers that descended on Havana this week will not be able to save it. While the island endured its second total electrical grid collapse in a matter of days, the regime welcomed a delegation of limousine socialists from the United States. They quickly pulled out their phones, merging grotesque voyeuristic <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/03/22/world-news/champagne-socialists-in-cuba-stage-concert-stay-in-5-star-hotel-as-country-plunges-into-nationwide-blackout/">slum tourism</a> with propagandistic livestreams from their five-star, regime-owned hotel. As their diesel generators hummed, the rest of the country starved in the dark.
The good news? This is late-stage communism. Cuba’s 67-year-old experiment with Marxist ideology could finally end if the Trump administration avoids the traps of negotiation and holds the line on its successful oil embargo. It would be a historic accomplishment for Trump 2.0, and petroleum is the key.
Margaret Thatcher famously observed that the problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money. This is happening in real time in present-day Cuba: The government has run out of other people’s oil. It scraped by for decades on Venezuelan crude shipments, using Venezuela&#8217;s oil imports to generate electricity, which is the least efficient task imaginable. This imported crude is in addition to the 25,000 barrels of oil per day that the regime pumps for itself.
The ouster of Nicolás Maduro and President Trump’s total oil embargo have set a countdown clock for the regime. The punishment will continue; the power outages will get worse. What’s more, they presage a breakdown in the paltry benefits the regime still offers.
Decades ago, Bernie Sanders <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Ad-v0qpB3A&amp;t=22s">infamously claimed</a> that bread lines were “a good thing” because they meant that the poor were not starving. Eventually, he argued, people received bread. The 2026 energy shortage in Cuba has given that interpretation a new, grim twist. Limited gasoline for transportation and power for baking means that there will be less bread for the bread lines.
As President Trump recently noted, “They have no energy. They have no money. They’re in deep trouble.” Trump is correct.
Deputy Cuban Foreign Minister Fernández de Cossío declared that the oil blockade “cannot be sustained forever.” The regime is obviously betting that the White House will eventually cave and let foreign tankers arrive in Cuban ports. This should not happen, since it will extend the lifespan of this regime once more.
Conditions on the ground are ripe for public unrest not seen since Cuba’s nationwide protests in July 2021. Unlike the previous unrest due to blackouts, however, the regime no longer has a Venezuelan patron to bail them out. Their current strategy is to play for time.
Here’s what we do next:
The administration must hold the line on the current oil embargo. The Cuban regime has learned how to manipulate public opinion by claiming that an end to the U.S. embargo will end the poverty of the Cuban people. In reality, it is the regime’s communist economic policies that have made them poor. It is why the <a href="https://x.com/TheCCShowcast/status/2035796964529365458?s=20">cavalcade of socialist influencers has backfired</a> on the government.
By showcasing the desperate poverty of the Cuban people and retreating to their hotel rooms to broadcast their support for the regime from a swanky 42-story high-rise, the woke circus of the “Stop the Siege” campaign inadvertently showed the disconnect between the luxury of communist elites and the people they imprison.
Next, the administration should not accept the “Venezuelan model” for Cuba. Simply replacing a few leaders at the top will not cure the island’s woes.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio seems to understand this, recently declaring that Cuba’s current leaders “can’t fix it,” namely, the economy. This is accurate. It is also why asking for a change in management at the top will not work.
Cuba needs a fundamental restructuring, similar to Central Europe after 1989.
As we learned from successful post-communist countries in Europe, gradual reforms lead to corruption and take too long to yield the desired results. Conversely, rapid changes shock the system into embracing free-market mechanisms that have not existed for decades. Poland and the Czech Republic are the shining examples of this rapid teardown and rebuilding.
Lastly, President Trump can and should do more to use the bully pulpit of his presidency to encourage the Cuban people. Ultimately, they cannot be “given” freedom; they must use the regime&#8217;s weakness to seize their own national destiny. Trump has the loudest megaphone in the world; he should use it to remind everyday Cubans that America is waiting to make the island rich through trade, investment, and most importantly, energy.
Because none of this can happen while the current regime remains in power, the White House should fully embrace a straightforward idea: “Viva Cuba libre.”

As for the new Ayatollah, though he has not yet been able to issue a statement of his own, the regime has released some of the old messages he posted on the website Sleeping-Gay-Amputees-dot-Com, which include such remarks as, “Must have good sense of humor,” and “If you like my picture, swipe right.”
Meanwhile, according to PBS Middle East Reporter Mohammed Mamdani Jihad Tucker Tucker Fatwa Jihad, Global financial markets continue to reel at the plucky Iranian attacks on the Strait of Hormuz. Americans may not be in love with everything President Trump is doing, but they really hate the radicalism of Democrats.
According to <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/politics/cnns-harry-enten-reports-an-all-time-high-percentage-of-americans-think-the-dems-are-too-liberal/">CNN</a>, among voters who say the Democrats are now too liberal, the percentage rose from 42% in 1996 to 48% in 2013 to 58% in 2025.
Democrats continue to swivel to the Left. It&#8217;s truly insane. After Donald Trump shellacked Joe Biden, their decision was, “Perhaps we should move further to the Left.”
Bernie Sanders, a career useless person and a leech on the ass of American society for all of his eight decades, has somehow become the ideological thought leader of an entire major party in the United States.
This is totally psychotic. Totally crazy. The man has produced nothing of value. He has the political mentality of a seven-year-old. Everything he says is along the lines of the fortune cookie idiocy only found in small children.
Yet, somehow, this has gained all sorts of credibility inside the Democratic Party base.
According to <a href="https://www.axios.com/2026/02/11/bernie-sanders-mejia-left-primaries-new-jersey">Axios</a>:
<blockquote>Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is feeling emboldened by progressives&#8217; shock victory in a New Jersey special House primary last week — and sizing up his next targets. The senator has endorsed over a dozen progressive House and Senate candidates who are aiming to reshape the Democratic Party. 
Asked in a phone interview where else he thinks the left can win upset victories, Sanders pointed to a &#8220;Fighting Oligarchy&#8221; rally he is doing on Friday with Nida Allam, who is challenging Rep. Valerie Foushee (D-N.C.). &#8220;That might be another area where progressives can win a strong victory,&#8221; he said. Brad Lander, the former New York City comptroller challenging Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.), also has &#8220;a strong chance to win,&#8221; Sanders said.</blockquote>
All of this is following the victory of leftist Analilia Mejia to succeed now-Gov. Mikie Sherrill in a special New Jersey primary election last week. “Mejia will have to win an April general election to get seated and then another primary in June to keep the seat for another two years, but New Jersey&#8217;s Democratic establishment is now beginning to coalesce around her,” Axios stated. 
Of course, Democrats have decided to coalesce around her because this is the way it works. Apparently, neither party has the stomach to simply say to its most extreme actors, “No, you don&#8217;t get to hang out with us.”
Sanders told Axios that she ran on a strong, progressive agenda and will stand up to “oligarchs” while comparing her to Zohran Mamdani.
Sanders has also endorsed leftist House candidates in Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Pennsylvania, California, Utah and Montana. He is also backing radical Senate candidates Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan and Graham Platner in Maine, the man who had the SS logo carved into his chest and then had to pretend that&#8217;s not what it was. He also endorsed radical leftist Peggy Flanagan in Minnesota, as well as Maine gubernatorial candidate Troy Jackson.

Let us never forget that Bernie Sanders’ ideas have failed everywhere they&#8217;ve ever been tried. They are garbage ideas, trash ideas.
His latest trash idea is that he wants a moratorium on data center construction.
Okay, cool. Let&#8217;s just destroy economic growth in the country. Sounds great.
His chosen proteges have already destroyed tens of thousands of jobs across the country. You&#8217;ll recall AOC — bartender turned congresswoman turned media sensation because of her “fresh-facedness” — who, when Amazon was thinking of relocating to her district, killed it, thus shoving tens of thousands of jobs out of her own district, a major win for her constituents.
And now Sanders wants to destroy data center construction. On MS NOW, he said, “We have not a clue. We are totally unprepared for what is coming. We&#8217;ve got to slow this thing down.”
What is he talking about? Slowing down AI, because redistributing misery is better than redistributing prosperity.
Sanders says that AI is bad because it alienates workers from their labor.
The real issue, of course, is that businesses might do well on the stock market and, in general, that’s what he wants to oppose.
If Democrats want to choose the “Let&#8217;s destroy the economy wing” of the party, good luck to you.

President Donald Trump urged Congress on Wednesday to pass legislation capping credit card interest rates at 10% for the next year, a proposal that has drawn criticism from Republican lawmakers.
Trump pressed Congress to take action on credit card interest rates during a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Last week, the president pressured banks and credit card companies to lower interest rates for one year, but he didn&#8217;t address how he would force them to comply. A deadline had been set for Jan. 20, but institutions have yet to follow Trump&#8217;s directive.
&#8220;The profit margin for credit card companies now exceeds 50%, and they charge Americans interest rates of 28%, 30%, 31%, 32%. Whatever happened to usury?&#8221; Trump <a href="https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/2013983796039647649">said</a> on Wednesday. &#8220;So, to help our citizens recover from the Biden disaster all caused by this horrible president, I&#8217;m asking Congress to cap credit card interest rates at 10% for one year.&#8221;
&#8220;And this will help millions of Americans save for a home,&#8221; he added.
Leftist Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who has pushed for capping credit card interest rates, said last week that Trump <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2026/01/14/warren-trump-credit-card-interest-rate-affordability.html">called her</a> to discuss the issue. Warren said that she told Trump &#8220;he had not lifted a finger to try to get something through on credit card interest rate caps.”
Democratic socialist Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Republican Josh Hawley of Missouri also support the idea. Both senators introduced a bill last year to cap credit card interest rates at 10% for five years. Leftist Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Florida Republican Anna Paulina Luna introduced a similar bill in the House, but the legislation has not made any progress in Congress.
When Trump publicly floated the idea of capping interest rates last week, Republican leaders in the Senate and House poured cold water on the proposal. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said last Tuesday, &#8220;The president is the ideas guy,” adding, “I wouldn’t get too spun up about ideas that are out of the box, that are proposed or suggested,&#8221; POLITICO <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2026/01/13/trump-credit-cards-congress-republicans-00725477">reported</a>.
&#8220;You&#8217;ve got to be very careful if you go forward in that,&#8221; Johnson continued. &#8220;In our zeal to bring down costs, you don&#8217;t want to have negative secondary effects. The problem is, if you do that, then the credit card companies, the negative secondary effect is that they would just stop lending money, and maybe they cap what people are able to borrow at a very low amount.&#8221;
Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) said, “That’s not something I’m out there advocating for.&#8221; Thune told NBC News that he believes Trump is getting bad advice.
&#8220;He may be getting advice on some of those issues, like, for example, the 10% cap on credit cards,” he said. “Don’t know where that came from. I don’t know. I don’t know the answer.”
Now that Trump has called on Congress to act on capping credit card interest rates, Republican leaders could find themselves in a tougher spot if they continue to publicly oppose his plan.
JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, who is also in Davos, <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2026/01/21/jamie-dimon-trump-credit-card-rate-cap-vermont-massachusetts.html">said</a> on Wednesday that a cap on credit card interest rates &#8220;would be an economic disaster.&#8221;
“In the worst case, you’d have a drastic reduction of the credit card business” for 80% of Americans, Dimon said, according to CNBC. He then quipped that the United States should test the idea in Warren&#8217;s and Sanders&#8217; home states of Massachusetts and Vermont, &#8220;and see what happens.&#8221; The banker added that those on &#8220;the Left&#8221; who push for price controls “will learn a real lesson, and the people crying the most won’t be the credit card companies.&#8221;
“It’ll be the restaurants, the retailers, the travel companies, the schools, the municipalities, because people miss their water payments,” Dimon said. “It would be something else to watch.”

Mamdani will use three different Qurans in both of his swearing-in ceremonies on January 1, The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/12/31/nyregion/mamdani-quran-inauguration-muslim.html">reported</a>. For his first ceremony at midnight on Thursday, Mamdani will place his hand on his grandfather’s Quran as well as a Quran that belonged to black history activist Arturo Schomburg, according to the Times. In his second ceremony, Mamdani will again place his hand on his grandfather&#8217;s Quran and one that belongs to another family member.
Mamdani will be sworn in by New York Attorney General Letitia James after the clock strikes midnight on January 1, while Sanders will deliver the oath of office during a ceremony later in the day, the New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/12/31/us-news/zohran-mamdani-will-become-first-nyc-mayor-sworn-in-on-quran-when-he-takes-oath-of-office/">reported</a>.
The swearing-in ceremony will break with tradition as New York City mayors throughout history have placed their hands on Bibles when they were sworn in. Mamdani will become one of the few elected officials throughout the country to use a Quran for their swearing in, joining leftist Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison and Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar.
Mamdani spoke of his Islamic faith while on the campaign trail, even delivering a tearful address on Islamophobia after he claimed that his opponents, Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa, launched &#8220;racist&#8221; and &#8220;baseless&#8221; attacks on him.

“Growing up in the shadow of 9/11, I have known what it means to live with an undercurrent of suspicion in this city,” Mamdani <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/zohran-mamdanis-islamophobia-speech-echoes-famous-norm-macdonald-joke">said</a> during his Islamophobia speech on October 24, adding, “To be Muslim in New York is to expect indignity, but indignity does not make us distinct. There are many New Yorkers who face it. It is the tolerance of that indignity that does.”
Mamdani also said that he was wrong for thinking that he could focus on his &#8220;central message&#8221; during his campaign and become &#8220;more than just my faith.&#8221;
&#8220;No amount of redirection is ever enough,” he said.
Mamdani&#8217;s election victory was <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/11/05/us/politics/mamdani-muslim.html">described</a> as a &#8220;breakthrough win for Muslim Americans&#8221; by The New York Times. Abdul El-Sayed, a Muslim Democrat running for U.S. Senate in Michigan, said of Mamdani&#8217;s election, “There is a constant effort to try and draw a small barrier around who can be American. That is what makes this moment so special.”

For years, the pediatric cancer community fought to pass a single bill designed to help children with cancer access better drug treatments.
The Mikaela Naylon Give Kids a Chance Act empowered the FDA to push drug companies to study combination therapies that could save young lives. After countless setbacks, the bill finally appeared headed for success — unanimous passage in the Senate, a signature from the president, and long-overdue relief for families who had already waited too long.
Then one senator <a href="https://www.thebulwark.com/p/pediatric-cancer-bill-bernie-sanders-mikaela-naylon">stopped it:</a> Bernie Sanders.
On the night the bill reached the Senate floor, advocates, reporters, grieving siblings, and a cancer survivor filled the gallery expecting a rare moment of bipartisan decency. Instead, Sanders objected to unanimous consent, killing the bill’s momentum in a dramatic floor exchange that most Americans never saw coming. His objection was not to the bill’s purpose — he supports it, in theory — but to unrelated provisions attached to it and to his insistence that other health-care priorities be passed at the same time.
“He is literally killing kids in front of us because of his political movement,” Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK), who forcefully supported the Give Kids a Chance Act, said. “It is ridiculous.”
“A unanimous vote in the chamber would have allowed the bill to bypass several steps, which typically involve the committee process and rules for debate, to move it straight along,” the New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/12/21/us-news/bernie-sanders-blasted-for-tanking-bill-to-help-pediatric-cancer-patients-for-leverage/?utm_source=chatgpt.com">noted</a>. “Given that the bill had already unanimously cleared the House, it only needed to get through the Senate before going straight to President Trump’s desk for his signature.”

The context makes Sanders’ move look even worse. The bill gained renewed momentum only because of Mikaela Naylon, a 16-year-old dying of osteosarcoma who had suffered below-knee amputation, multiple lung surgeries, radiation, and radioactive treatments. She spent her final weeks — after her doctors told her she had only weeks to live — lobbying Congress instead of resting. Even after she returned home to Colorado, she was meeting with legislators over Zoom. She became so weak that her parents ultimately had to speak for her while she listened. She spoke to Sen. John Hickenlooper on October 29, dying three hours later.
After Mikaela’s death, the House passed the renamed bill unanimously. Every senator but one was ready to do the same.
Sanders justified his blockade by arguing that savings in the bill should fund community health centers and that other bipartisan health provisions killed months earlier should be revived alongside it. By demanding everything or nothing, Sanders ensured that vulnerable children got nothing.
In the end, the Senate left town for the holidays, and the bill died with the clock. Sanders may claim he was fighting for bigger goals, but history will record that when given the chance to deliver immediate help to sick children, he chose procedural purity and political leverage instead. Incremental progress was available. He alone decided it wasn’t good enough — and kids paid the price.

Perhaps the only thing Democrats and Republicans seem to agree on these days is that the pharmaceutical industry is bad. In particular, there has been bipartisan movement in recent years to ban direct-to-consumer drug ads, which are only permitted in the United States and New Zealand. Some supporters, like The Daily Wire&#8217;s Matt Walsh, have called these ads <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/all-the-reasons-why-big-pharma-commercials-should-be-banned">dangerous</a>.
But even those who don&#8217;t feel that strongly about the issue aren&#8217;t jumping up to defend these ads, which generally feature a bunch of shiny, happy stock-photo models dancing around while a narrator speed-reads through a list of side effects ranging from nausea to death.
In this provocative piece, Stephen Moore does just that. A noted economist and political commentator, Moore served as a senior economic adviser to President Donald Trump and was instrumental in crafting the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. The ad ends as the couple parks their old Suburban beside a shiny new one, welcoming their grown children and grandchildren home for the holidays.
It’s the kind of commercial American companies have long excelled at: emotionally evocative in all the right ways, tapping into nostalgia, family, and the warmth of the season — and, yes, selling a product. Holiday ads have become part of our cultural fabric. Think of Coca-Cola&#8217;s polar bears, or the Budweiser Clydesdales. These ads don’t just market products; they help set the tone for the season.
Ads like these may not survive if Washington continues down a troubling road of restricting TV commercials for politically unpopular — but legal — products. At the top of this list is pharmaceutical ads, which Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) wants removed from the airwaves. In that fight he has an unlikely ally: Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
This may seem like a rare instance of bipartisan cooperation. And in today’s political climate, dinging pharmaceutical companies is almost certain to prove popular.
But we already have strict advertising laws against including false or misleading claims in ads, and severe penalties for violations — and appropriately so. Banning pharmaceutical ads would be regulatory overkill, and could have negative consequences its advocates aren’t considering.
Contrary to what critics say, prescription drugs preserve life and improve health. Because of this, advertising can be a social good. An ad that makes people aware of a new drug’s benefits can literally save lives and alleviate suffering.
Some politicians and regulators say these ads only serve to artificially drive up demand. And they do drive up demand — for treatments that work. That’s a good thing.
Think about what would happen if we had a new wonder drug to help cure or stop the spread of breast cancer. Now imagine that the government prevented the pharmaceutical company from promoting this treatment to patients.
It could take months before patients get access to this miracle cure.
Plus, if lawmakers succeed in chipping away protections for advertisers, it will only empower future government censors. Imagine a future Democrat administration that wants to ban ads for gas-powered cars or disposable diapers in the name of “protecting the environment.”
Pharmaceutical ads may not be the most popular thing in the world. But that doesn’t change the fact that they have a real benefit — or the fact that banning them would do more harm than good.

There is a serious battle happening inside the Democratic Party, ranging from the radicals — led by people like Zohran Mamdani, AOC, and Bernie Sanders — to the more traditional liberals, who don&#8217;t seem to have any sort of systemic immunity, to the moderate Democrats who are increasingly feeling out of step with their own party. 
Meanwhile, President Trump just keeps trucking along. Yesterday, the president of the United States spent Veterans Day <a href="https://www.c-span.org/program/white-house-event/veterans-day-observance-ceremony/668831">speaking</a> about the value of our veterans, stating:
<blockquote>This morning, on these hallowed grounds where generations of American heroes rest in eternal glory, we gather to fulfill the sacred duty of every free man and woman. On Veterans Day, we honor those who have worn the uniform, who have borne the battle, who have stood to watch, whose ranks have formed the mighty wall of flesh and blood, bravery and devotion, that has defended our freedom for 250 years. Today, to every veteran — we love our veterans — we say the words too often left unsaid: “Thank you for your service.”</blockquote>
President Trump has a baseline level of patriotism that comes through in everything that he does. The man truly loves this country and obviously loves the American flag and the American military.
He continued by speaking about what we owe to the military — something the radical Democrats do not believe — saying:
<blockquote>Yet every captain of industry, every pioneer of science, and every star whose brilliance has lit up the lights of Broadway, all share one thing in common. They only had the chance to show up because the veterans had the courage to serve. They took care of those people. They took care of all the stars. Contrast that with how Hasan Piker has been spending the last few days. He went to China, and while he was in China, he decided that he was <a href="https://x.com/DrewPavlou/status/1988137151666811252?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1988137151666811252%7Ctwgr%5Ef2722b4aaef4e9a3eebbeeca5a382b177a407c5a%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.mediaite.com%2Fmedia%2Fnews%2Fhasan-piker-declares-i-dont-have-any-patriotism-for-america-while-streaming-from-tiananmen-square%2F">going to blather</a> about how America is terrible —  in a country that legitimately censors everything you do, kills its opposition, and runs them over with tanks. Hasan Piker was in Tiananmen Square, where protesters against the Chinese government were murdered.
“I don&#8217;t have any sort of patriotism in my heart for America, but just in general. &#8230; I care about people,” he declared.
If that is the choice that Americans are given, and if Democrats continue to embrace this sort of radicalism, they are in some real trouble.
Hasan Piker is, of course, fairly close with Zohran Mamdani, the new mayor-elect of New York. He attended his victory party in New York, where he was going around saying on camera that it was a tragedy that the Soviet Union had collapsed.

So, radicals are taking over the Democratic Party. There&#8217;s no question they are the ones with the momentum at this point, if the Democratic Party refuses to stand up and say no.
On Monday, there was a protest that turned into <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/chaos-breaks-out-at-tpusa-event-as-leftist-agitators-harass-attendees">a small riot</a> outside a TPUSA event at the University of California, Berkeley. This sort of thing has become common; Antifa radicals and their allies show up at events such as the TPUSA event.
Are there enough normie Democrats to stop this radicalism from taking over the party? The problem for them is that they are perfectly willing to go along with this sort of thing.
The liberal mainstream Democratic Party wants to capture what they think is the jet fuel of the radicals. Thus, Gavin Newsom <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2025/11/11/gavin-newsom-shames-democrats-who-caved-in-shutdown-battle-pathetic-capitulation-and-a-betrayal/">raged</a> against the end of the shutdown. That’s Gavin Newsom linking arms with the radicals in his own party. J.B. Pritzker, who, like Newsom, wants to run for president, also said that the government should remain closed. 
California Rep. Ro Khanna <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2025/11/12/ro-khanna-senate-democrats-shutdown-schumer/">says</a> the Democratic leadership is “out of touch.”
To understand what’s now happening inside the Democratic Party, look no further than the historical analogy found in the Russian Revolution. There were some soft socialists, the so-called Russian whites, led by a guy named Alexander Kerensky. They were trying to hold off the Reds, and started off in an unenviable position militarily, but ended up winning because eventually there wasn&#8217;t enough systemic immunity to stop them.
That&#8217;s where we are right now. The systemic immunity is gone.
We&#8217;ll see how long this current Democratic Party can last without splintering into pieces.

Bernie Sanders let the cat out of the bag yesterday.
In an interview with <a href="https://www.axios.com/2025/10/23/bernie-sanders-aoc-2028-presidential-election">Axios</a>, he said what I think we&#8217;ve all been thinking: that AOC is almost certainly going to run for president in 2028 — with the backing of Bernie Sanders.
<blockquote>“She is an incredibly intelligent person and in the best sense of the word, a very, very good politician,” he declared. “I&#8217;ve been out on the streets where the people come up and how she responds to people is so incredibly genuine and open, you know, it&#8217;s just something. That&#8217;s a gift that she has. It&#8217;s a quality that she has. She&#8217;s a great speaker out there. She comes from the working class. She was a kid who was cleaning houses with her mother. She knows what it&#8217;s like not to have any money. And she&#8217;s going out fighting for working families all over this country. And I think as a young person who six years ago was a waitress, becoming politically prominent has been incredibly inspiring.”</blockquote>
She&#8217;s not inspiring.
To the wild Left, however, she is inspiring.
Sure, she is a dunderhead who says unintelligent things every five seconds.
But Bernie Sanders is also a dunderhead, and he&#8217;s been able to get away with it for 2,000 decades at this point. I believe he was a contemporaneous follower of Methuselah.
Sanders has taken over the Democratic Party wholesale at this point.
They are moving further and further to the Left. And one of his chosen acolytes is Graham Platner, the Maine Democrat running for the Senate who leads in the polls by leaps and bounds.
According to new <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/maine-senate-candidate-graham-platner-socialist-group-linked-to-ice-attack-tesla-bombings?author=Luke+Rosiak&amp;category=undefined&amp;elementPosition=24&amp;row=3&amp;rowHeadline=Latest+News&amp;rowType=Vertical+Carousel&amp;title=Maine+Dem+Graham+Platner+Belonged+To+Socialist+Group+Linked+To+ICE+Attack%2C+Tesla+Bombings">reporting</a> from our own Luke Rosiak:
<blockquote>Democrat Senate candidate Graham Platner was a member of a radical Left group whose members have been linked to a slew of attacks, including an assault on an ICE facility that was designated a terrorist attack this month as part of a crackdown on Antifa.
Maine’s Democrat Senate primary was upended after <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2025/10/16/politics/kfile-graham-platner-maine-senate-candidate-deleted-reddit-posts">CNN</a> reported that Platner had called himself a “communist” in posts on the Reddit forum r/SocialistRA, where he wrote that if people “expect to fight fascism without a good semi-automatic rifle, they ought to do some reading of history.”
The forum name refers to the Socialist Rifle Association, a group whose members have been repeatedly linked to violent political crimes.
On July 4, a group of militants allegedly swarmed law enforcement at an ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas and “opened fire at the unarmed DHS correctional officers.” One of them, Benjamin Hanil Song, is charged with shooting a police officer in the neck. Song was a member of the Socialist Rifle Association’s Dallas-Fort Worth chapter, a fellow group member told <a href="https://www.keranews.org/news/2025-07-22/shooting-at-alvarado-ice-facility-other-attacks-the-new-normal">KERA</a>.
Last week, the Department of Justice charged two suspects in that attack, Cameron Arnold and Zachary Evetts, with providing <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-admin-hits-antifa-with-very-first-terrorism-charges-in-anti-ice-attack">material support to terrorists</a>, calling their crew an “Antifa Cell.” It was the first use of the terrorism statute against domestic extremists since Trump ordered a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-ups-the-ante-orders-cabinet-to-label-antifa-a-foreign-terror-organization">crackdown</a> on far-left political violence. Arnold, like the founders of the Socialist Rifle Association, is transgender and goes by the name Autumn Hill.
Membership in the Socialist Rifle Association isn’t required for users to post on the Reddit forum. But a New England publication, the <a href="https://robinsonreport.substack.com/p/ex-marine-graham-platner-taught-military">Robinson Report</a>, revealed that Platner explicitly described his membership in the group.
“Check out the Maine SRA chapter, we’re quite active,” he wrote in April 2020. In August 2020, he said “my local SRA chapter” does “lots of range days, firearms education classes, and developing mutual aid networks in our community.”</blockquote>
Images of the main chapter include a man training in a pink tutu shooting a gun, and one who has facial hair matching Platner’s.
This is a person, a Nazi-tattooed Antifa-training pseudo-man-of-the-people oyster farmer, who went to a $75,000-a-year prep school when he was younger.
And he’s Sanders’ chosen guy in the Senate race in Maine. If the Democrats wish to embrace this sort of radicalism, I do not think the American people will move alongside them.

I know there are a lot of Republicans who are rooting for the socialists to take over the Democratic Party.
I am not.
I&#8217;ve been saying this since 2020, when Bernie Sanders was running against Joe Biden. I said I preferred Joe Biden to be the nominee rather than Bernie Sanders, even if Bernie was more likely to lose to Donald Trump.
Why? Because the risk factor in having a socialist leader was higher than the risk factor in having a “dead” leader like Joe Biden.
Even if Joe Biden had slightly higher odds to win the presidency than Bernie Sanders, if I had to calculate the damage that a Bernie Sanders presidency would do versus a Joe Biden presidency, it would be astronomically higher under Bernie Sanders than Joe Biden, no matter how bad Joe Biden was.
I feel the same way about the Democratic Party falling wholesale to the wild-Left democratic socialists. If they do that, it’s true there&#8217;s a lower chance that they will win power anytime soon.
But to pretend that chance doesn&#8217;t exist is to whistle past the graveyard.
Let&#8217;s say, for example, that the Democratic Party has a 40% shot of winning the White House in 2028 right now with some sort of pseudo-moderate, like a Gavin Newsom or a Wes Moore. The damage that would be done by Wes Moore or Gavin Newsom would be a seven out of ten, and the damage done by an AOC would be a ten out of ten.
I would rather take the low-risk scenario, even if there&#8217;s a greater risk that the person might become president, than take the absolutely disastrous apocalyptic scenario of having a Democratic party controlled by the nutjobs.

What do you call seven million old white people gathering all over the country?
Not a Barry Manilow reunion tour.
It is, of course, the “No Kings” rallies, which happened over the course of Saturday with seven million protesters, nearly all of them members of the AARP, gathering around the nation in order to protest kings.
You may have noticed we don&#8217;t have kings here in the United States. We have a constitutional republic.
No matter what you think of Donald Trump, Donald Trump has been subject to the dictates of Congress. He has been subject to the dictates of courts. There are actual laws and regulations on the books that prevent the president of the United States from instituting tyrannical power over the rest of the country.
One of the most amusing things about these “No Kings” rallies is the supposition by the Left that they stand in opposition to grand expansions of executive power.
That is absolute bull. It is nonsense. I&#8217;m old enough to remember Barack Obama. I&#8217;m old enough to remember Joe Biden, who tried to use the Occupational Safety and Health Organization in order to cram down vaccine mandates on 80 million Americans, and our company had to sue to stop him.
I remember President Biden telling the Supreme Court that while they were attempting to stop him from getting rid of student loans, he would circumvent them and find another way to do it.
The idea that these people who are opposed to Donald Trump do so to oppose expanded executive power is ridiculous. It is the Democratic Party in the United States which has, writ large, expanded the power of the executive branch wholesale over the course of the last century. Since Woodrow Wilson, the expansion of the executive branch of government has been nonstop. It has sometimes been paused under some Republicans, but it is rarely reversed.
When it comes to the modern Democratic Party, the idea that they want to delegate power back to the states or delegate power back to Congress is a lie. As soon as a Democrat is in power, they simply want to run roughshod over the Constitution of the United States.
Thus the very premise of these “No Kings” rallies is false.

Left-wing Axios <a href="https://www.axios.com/2025/10/18/no-kings-protests-october-18-turnout">reported</a>:  “According to a statement from the ‘No Kings’ protest organizers, Saturday&#8217;s turnout was ‘one of the largest single-day demonstrations in U.S. history’ with over two million more people taking part than participated in similar protests in June of this year.”
Of course, you remember how much of a difference it made when they protested in June.
You don&#8217;t? You forgot already?
You forgot already because it didn&#8217;t matter at all. It is now Monday and everyone already forgot.
“More than 2,700 events were planned as part of the protests across 50 states as of Saturday, as well as several internationally, including in London, Paris, Rome and Lisbon, Portugal.”
I get a kick out of places that actually have kings saying that they&#8217;re going to have “No Kings” rallies.
These rallies are ridiculous. If you look at the pictures of people who are dressed up as lobsters in Massachusetts or Superman in New York City or inflatable chickens, you think to yourself, “I don&#8217;t think these are the folks who are going to change America in any real way.”

And that&#8217;s putting aside the people who arrived at these rallies in order to promote violence against the president of the United States, or against people on the right-wing. Those people were in plentiful supply. Politicians showed up. They spoke alongside radical agitators and organizers.
We&#8217;re all supposed to pretend that that never happened, speaking alongside terrorist supporters, people who despise the country. If you&#8217;re a politician, like Bernie Sanders or Chris Murphy from Connecticut, and you speak alongside Qatari mouthpiece Mehdi Hasan, or you speak alongside people who have openly promoted terrorism, that&#8217;s kind of a big deal.
My favorite moment of media coverage came when MSNBC <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/media/tv/msnbc-interviews-a-unicorn-and-bear-at-no-kings-rally-looking-as-ridiculous-as-we-can-to-protest-ridiculous-trump/">interviewed</a> a person dressed up as a unicorn.
(A rally is truly serious when people dress up as inflatable unicorns.)

Unicorn: Well, we&#8217;re here to represent the loving, hardworking community of Los Angeles. We&#8217;re here peacefully protesting, looking as ridiculous as we can, just so maybe we appeal to the president because he is a ridiculous leader that is normalizing abuse of power, and we cannot stand and act like nothing is happening.
Reporter: I&#8217;ve never heard a more serious message come out of a pink unicorn.</blockquote>
I don&#8217;t think that&#8217;s true because I think that half of the MSNBC staff are pink unicorns.
It was an impressive showing, with great intellects. People like actor John Cusack, who was last relevant when he was standing outside a bedroom window holding a boombox in a movie from 1989.
But if you thought that Cusack was the only old actor who showed up to pay tribute to the “No Kings” rally, I present to you: (drum roll) Robert De Niro, who seems to have chosen poorly when he drank from his choice of Holy Grails. He is now aging extraordinarily rapidly and also apparently turning into a hobbit.
He praised Letitia James, the attorney general of New York, for saying F.U. to Trump, (which she may be saying from jail soon, depending on how her mortgage falsification case goes).
“I like what Letitia James is doing,” he declared “She&#8217;s fighting back. She&#8217;s saying F*** you. &#8230; I will not be taken down by this person. I am not afraid of him.” He also had comments about Stephen Miller, calling Miller, who happens to be Jewish, a Nazi.
Bernie Sanders yelled, “We&#8217;re here because we&#8217;re going to do everything we can to honor the sacrifices of millions of men and women who, over the last 250 years, fought and sometimes died.”
I can&#8217;t take him seriously. Nothing you do can make me take him seriously, because he&#8217;s not a serious person. The fact that the Democratic Party has elevated him as an ideological thought leader after spending his entire life being a useless pustule on the ass of American society is indeed a reflection of what their party stands for.
Sanders spoke of how much these people loved America.
Yet there were a shocking number of non-American flags over the Washington, DC rally. There was a giant Palestinian flag in solidarity with Hamas, of course. In Los Angeles there were tons of Mexican flags, so many that the CNN reporter noted it.
Senator Ed Markey from Massachusetts decided that he was going to give a speech while donning a trans flag. J.B. Pritzker, the would-be presidential candidate from Illinois (who typically has to be lowered into these things by crane) stood in front of a bunch of signs, including a F*** ICE sign.
For the sake of his bodily health, I hope it was a very short march.
A Barry Manilow reunion tour would have been a heck of a lot less screechy.
