A <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/north-carolina">North Carolina</a> man has been arrested and charged with multiple crimes after allegedly using bots and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/artificial-intelligence">artificial intelligence</a> (AI) to generate <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">songs</a> to collect $10 million in royalties.
Michael Smith, 52, was arrested on Wednesday on charges of wire fraud conspiracy, wire fraud, and money laundering conspiracy, according to the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. Each charge has a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
Smith’s complex scheme involved using automated programs, also known as “bots,” to stream songs created with artificial intelligence, the federal indictment said. He used the bot accounts to stream those AI-generated songs billions of times across multiple streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, per <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/05/nyregion/nc-man-charged-ai-fake-music.html?partner=slack&amp;smid=sl-share">The New York Times</a>. The revenue he received from these plays resulted in royalty payments exceeding $10 million.

Smith began using the illegal tactics in 2017 and continued through 2024 before being caught. His methods are said to have diverted money from other artists on the platform who had legitimate listeners and fans.
“Through his brazen fraud scheme, Smith stole millions in royalties that should have been paid to musicians, songwriters and other rights holders whose songs were legitimately streamed,” Damian Williams, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, said in a <a href="https://www.wbtv.com/2024/09/04/north-carolina-musician-charged-with-music-streaming-fraud-aided-by-ai/">statement</a>. “Today, thanks to the work of the FBI and the career prosecutors of this Office, it’s time for Smith to face the music.”
The defendant used software to continuously stream songs he owned, and he is accused of paying co-conspirators and individuals living overseas to sign up for bot accounts. Smith avoided detection by creating the bot accounts using false names and using debit cards issued to fake people to pay for them.
Smith had hundreds of thousands of AI-generated songs, each with a nominal number of listeners so they wouldn’t be noticed. Smith estimated that he could use the bot accounts to generate about 661,440 streams per day, resulting in annual royalties totaling $1,027,128.

Some songs had unusual names, such as “Zygotes” and “Zymoplastic.” The fake artists were called things like “Calm Baseball,” “Calorie Screams,” and “Camel Edible.”
The Southern District of New York Office’s Complex Frauds and Cybercrime Unit is prosecuting the case. Smith has been ordered to appear before a U.S. Magistrate Judge in North Carolina on an undisclosed future date.

Just days after the “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/movies">Megalopolis</a>” trailer was taken down for misusing and outright fabricating purported critics’ comments, it was reported that the faux quotes were generated using <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/artificial-intelligence">artificial intelligence</a> (AI).
The official trailer for the Francis Ford Coppola <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">film</a> was released on Wednesday morning. Later that day, Lionsgate pulled it and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/lionsgate-yanks-megalopolis-trailer-apologizes-for-fake-critic-quotes-we-screwed-up">issued</a> a formal apology. 
“Lionsgate is immediately recalling our trailer for ‘Megalopolis,’” a Lionsgate spokesperson said in a statement. “We offer our sincere apologies to the critics involved and to Francis Ford Coppola and American Zoetrope for this inexcusable error in our vetting process. We screwed up. We are sorry.”

Sources <a href="https://deadline.com/2024/08/megalopolis-marketing-consultant-lionsgate-ties-cut-trailer-debacle-1236049223/">confirmed</a> to Deadline that “Megalopolis” cut ties with marketing consultant Eddie Egan after it was reported that AI was responsible for the misattributed and fabricated quotes.
The Deadline source also addressed claims that the whole scandal was a secret publicity stunt to get the “Megalopolis” title in more headlines, which that person denied. The insider said the quotes were added in error and not properly checked before being made public.
Lionsgate has not issued a public statement on severing ties with Egan. 
Per his LinkedIn <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/eddieegan">profile</a>, Egan spent most of his Hollywood career serving in executive roles at Universal Pictures, where he was named President of Marketing in 2007. He headed major Hollywood marketing campaigns, including Eminem’s “8 Mile” (2002), Disney’s “Into the Woods” (2014), Steven Spielberg’s Academy Award-nominated “Bridge of Spies” (2015), and the hit comedy “Bad Moms” (2016).
The now-deleted &#8220;Megalopolis&#8221; trailer highlighted negative quotes about Coppola’s films that were either made up or falsely attributed as an attempt to show the divisiveness of his work. This seemed to be an effort to counteract the mixed reactions “Megalopolis” received at the Cannes Film Festival, where it debuted earlier this year.

Critic Roger Ebert was said to have described “Dracula” as being “a triumph of style over substance,” which actually came from a review he wrote about “Batman” (1989).
Reviewer Pauline Kael was quoted as saying “The Godfather” was “diminished by its artsiness,” but that line never appeared in her original review.

Jordan B. Peterson: I&#8217;m very curious about your intuition. How did you cotton onto the fact that that antagonistic attitude towards birth that&#8217;s embedded in our culture now was something that should be called out and that was pathological?
Elon Musk: I should perhaps go back to what is the foundation of my philosophy because that, I think, helps build up to explain my actions. When I was, I don&#8217;t know, about 11- or 12-years-old, I had somewhat of an existential crisis because there just didn&#8217;t seem to be any meaning in the world, no meaning to life. So I actually read, tried to read, all the religious texts.
Peterson: At that age?
Musk: Yes, I was a voracious reader as a kid. So, I obviously read the Bible. I read the Quran, the Torah, a bit on the Hindu side, just trying to understand all these things. Obviously as a 12-year-old, you&#8217;re not really going to understand these things super well.
Peterson: Well, you understood it well enough to have an existential crisis when you were 11 or 12. That’s a start.
Musk: I was just trying to figure out, does anyone have an answer that makes sense? And then I started getting into the philosophy books, and I read quite a bit of Schopenhauer and Nietzsche, which is quite depressing to read as a kid. That’s depressing as an adult. But none of them really seemed to have answers that resonated, at least to me. But then I read Douglas Adams’ “The Hitchhiker&#8217;s Guide to the Galaxy,” which is really a book on philosophy disguised as humor. And the point that Adams tries to make there is that we don&#8217;t actually know all the answers, obviously. In fact, we don&#8217;t even know what the right questions are to ask. That&#8217;s where he has this, if you read the book, the Earth is actually a giant computer to understand the answer to the question, “What is the meaning of life?” and comes up with the answer 42. And what does that mean? It says, oh, you actually don&#8217;t understand; the thing [is], that&#8217;s going to take a computer far more powerful than Earth to understand what question to ask. That&#8217;s simply the wrong question.
Peterson: So was that the key realization? That the question was the thing?
Musk: I would say that that was a fundamental turning point.
Peterson: That&#8217;s very interesting because one of the things that you see constantly portrayed in Redemptive Hero myths across the world is that the adventure is the thing and the search is the thing, rather than there being a final answer as absurd as 42 might be. The conclusive answer is something like deep engagement in the process. So I&#8217;ll give you an example of that. The Sermon on the Mount is a very detailed set of instructions, so there&#8217;s three parts to it. The first is: Aim at the highest thing that you can possibly conceive of and keep modifying that so your aim gets better. That&#8217;s number one. Number two is: Make the presumption that other people have the same intrinsic value as you do.
Musk: Well, we have to be careful about that one.
Peterson: Ok, let&#8217;s discuss that. But it&#8217;s — what would you say — it&#8217;s a recognition of the universalist value of everyone who&#8217;s made in the image of God. It’s something like that. But the third thing is, once you do those two things, you can concentrate on the moment. And that seems to be, even technically, you can think about this as neuropsychological. If you&#8217;re looking for meaning, meaning is a form of incentive reward. An incentive reward is dopaminergic mediated. And incentive reward occurs in relationship to advancement toward a goal, which is a form of entropy minimization, as it turns out, according to Karl Friston, who knows this sort of thing. 
Musk: Entropy is the ultimate boss battle.

Peterson: Yes, right. Well, negative emotion signifies the emergence of entropy and positive emotion, on the dopaminergic side, signals its reduction. But there&#8217;s something that&#8217;s more complex there, because the higher the goal that you&#8217;re trying to attain, the more intrinsic value each step toward it comprises. And that&#8217;s neuro-psychologically accurate. So part of the wisdom of the Sermon on the Mount is that if you posit the highest imaginable goal, then any step toward it that captures your attention is also deeply meaningful. That&#8217;s an answer to what the meaning is — a process — rather than, say, something like 42. It seems to me that you were intimating that your discovery through Adams, that the question was the thing, was key to the resolution of your existential crisis.
Musk: That&#8217;s correct.
Peterson: Ok, so that&#8217;s part of the reason that you&#8217;re motivated to, say, build Grok 3 and look deeper.
Musk: To understand. To understand the universe.
Peterson: How old were you when you figured out that the question—?
Musk: 13 or something.
Peterson: What did that do to you?
Musk: Well, I was a lot happier after that because now it&#8217;s like, ok, well, I&#8217;m just going to accept that we are ignorant of a great many things, and we wish to be less ignorant. And anything we can do that will improve our understanding of the universe and make us less ignorant and have a deeper understanding of the universe, and even more questions to ask about the answer that is the universe, which is, I think, Adams’ central point, is good.
Peterson: And that was good enough to resolve that crisis?
Musk: It was. It was for me at least. And so, is this a religion? I don&#8217;t know. Maybe it is, but I think it&#8217;s a good one. I would call it the Religion of Curiosity.

Tesla and SpaceX owner <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/elon-musk" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Elon Musk</a>, who has developed the artificial intelligence chatbot Grok, told Dr. Jordan B. Peterson in an interview on Monday that he is alarmed by the lack of &#8220;pro-human&#8221; principles among competing AI companies and hopes his AI model will be the &#8220;most powerful in the world&#8221; by December.
Musk sat down with Peterson at his Gigafactory Texas for an exclusive interview that was streamed live on <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/dr-peterson-x-elon-musk" target="_blank" rel="noopener">DailyWire+</a> and X. The billionaire entrepreneur started Grok to compete with Google Gemini and OpenAI&#8217;s ChatGPT, another AI chatbot that Musk co-founded with Sam Altman before Musk left the company in 2018 over disagreements about its future. After Musk took over Twitter and changed its name to X, he connected Grok to the platform, allowing premium subscribers to have access to the AI tool.
Musk has also called out the leftist bent of AI tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini, Google’s AI tool. The SpaceX founder has vowed to push back against leftist talking points being pushed by other AI companies. Musk also told Peterson that he &#8220;grew increasingly concerned&#8221; about AI safety when he discussed the topic with former Google CEO Larry Page, discussions that Musk said led to him starting OpenAI with Altman, and eventually his own AI chatbot, Grok.
&#8220;He did call me a speciesist,&#8221; Musk said of Page, adding, &#8220;I&#8217;m a speciesist in favor of humans instead of machines. Larry&#8217;s view is, if I&#8217;m not misspeaking, that we will all upload our minds to the computer and everyone will just be robots.&#8221;
&#8220;There&#8217;s not much difference between that and the death of humanity,&#8221; Peterson said. &#8220;Because whatever we&#8217;d be then it wouldn&#8217;t be what we are now.&#8221;
&#8220;It&#8217;s a crazy thing to not be pro-human,&#8221; Musk said later in the interview. &#8220;I mean, if humans are not going to be on team human, who is? That was the final straw. I was like, we really need some new AI company so there&#8217;s a counter-balance to Google.&#8221;

Musk also laid out a specific and aggressive timeline for his AI company&#8217;s next models.
&#8220;We have a lot of catching up to do relative to companies that have been around for five or 10 or 20 years,&#8221; Musk told Peterson. &#8220;We&#8217;re catching up fast. The velocity of improvement of xAI is faster than any other company out there.&#8221;
&#8220;How do you feel that Grok performs, say, in relationship to ChatGPT now?&#8221; Peterson asked.
&#8220;Well, so the Grok version that&#8217;s been released is still based on Grok version one training,&#8221; Musk replied. &#8220;We&#8217;ve made several improvements, so it&#8217;s sort of called Grok 1.5. But the foundation model of Grok is still an order of magnitude weaker than ChatGPT.&#8221;
Peterson asked the X chairman how powerful the next model of his AI chatbot will be in comparison to the competition. Musk said the second version of Grok recently &#8220;finished training&#8221; and the engineers are now &#8220;fixing bugs&#8221; before officially releasing Grok 2 next month.
&#8220;It should be on par, or close to&#8221; ChatGPT&#8217;s latest model, Musk said.
&#8220;Then what we&#8217;re doing in the Memphis Data Center is we&#8217;re actually training Grok 3. So that, that&#8217;ll probably finish training in about three or four months and then there&#8217;ll be some fine-tuning and bug fixing and whatnot. And we&#8217;re hoping to release Grok 3 by December,&#8221; he added. &#8220;And Grok 3 should be the most powerful AI in the world at that point.&#8221;

On Tuesday, Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz introduced a bill to protect and empower victims of “revenge pornography.”
The bill, titled the “Tools to Address Known Exploitation by Immobilizing Technological Deepfakes on Websites and Networks (TAKE IT DOWN) Act,” would “criminalize the publication of non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII), including AI-generated NCII (or “deepfake pornography”), and require social media and similar websites to have in place procedures to remove such content upon notification from a victim,” <a href="https://www.cruz.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/sen-cruz-leads-colleagues-in-unveiling-landmark-bill-to-protect-victims-of-deepfake-revenge-porn">according</a> to Cruz&#8217;s office.
“There has been a staggering increase in exploitative sexual material online, largely due to predators taking advantage of new technologies like generative artificial intelligence, or AI,” Cruz <a href="https://www.facebook.com/SenatorTedCruz/videos/deepfake-sexual-images-on-social-media-are-a-very-real-problemi-cant-imagine-the/451109550986715/">stated</a>. “Now almost instantaneously, perpetrators can use an app on their phones to create fake, explicit images depicting real people, commonly referred to as deep fakes. Disturbingly, this is increasingly affecting and targeting minors, particularly young girls. Up to 95% of all internet deep fakes depict sexual images, with the vast majority of it targeting women and girls.”
“It feels like almost every week now we&#8217;re seeing a new report of a middle school or high school young girl falling victim to this despicable activity,” he continued. “Young girls are waking up to a text message from their friends saying there&#8217;s an explicit photo of them circulating on social media or explicit video. And yet, the photos aren’t real. They were created using AI, typically taking the face of a real person and using AI technology to graph this seamlessly and imperceptibly to a different image, and a sexually explicit image. Imagine being 14 years old and showing up at school where your classmates believe they have seen an explicit photo of you that is a fake and a fraud. The photos may not be real, but the pain and the humiliation is.”

A <a href="https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/24740333/nancy-mace-scarlett-johansson-testimony-request.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> sent last week invited Johansson to appear for a Capitol Hill hearing before a House Technology Subcommittee chaired by Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC).
&#8220;You recently expressed concerns via social media about the resemblance between your own voice and that of the &#8216;Sky&#8217; chatbot, recently released as part of OpenAl&#8217;s GPT- 40 update,&#8221; Mace wrote.
&#8220;This hearing would provide a platform for you to share those concerns with House Members, and to inform the broader public debate concerning deepfakes,&#8221; she added.
Mace&#8217;s office told Axios, which <a href="https://www.axios.com/2024/06/10/scarlett-johansson-openai-chatgpt-congress" target="_blank" rel="noopener">first reported the letter</a> on Monday, that Johansson is unable to make the proposed date of July 9 and would likely be available sometime in October.
Johansson, who voiced an AI chat system in the 2013 film &#8220;Her,&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/scarlett-johansson-accuses-openai-of-using-voice-that-sounds-eerily-similar-to-mine" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said in May</a> she was &#8220;shocked, angered and in disbelief&#8221; upon the reveal of a ChatGPT voice that sounded &#8220;eerily similar&#8221; to hers.
The actress said <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/openai-reaches-deal-to-reinstate-sam-altman-as-ceo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">OpenAI CEO Sam Altman</a> had asked her to provide a voice for the feature, but she declined and so she hired lawyers to reach out to OpenAI when a similar voice feature came out.
OpenAI <a href="https://openai.com/index/how-the-voices-for-chatgpt-were-chosen/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">denied</a> its &#8220;Sky&#8221; voice was an imitation of Johansson&#8217;s voice, insisting it was instead developed with a different professional actress using her &#8220;own natural speaking voice.&#8221;
Separately, Altman apologized to Johansson &#8220;that we didn’t communicate better. He also said, &#8220;Out of respect for Ms. Johansson, we have paused using Sky&#8217;s voice in our products.&#8221;
In ending her statement about the voice controversy, Johansson also called for more work to be done to address issues associated with advancing technologies beyond just artificial intelligence.
&#8220;In a time when we are all grappling with deepfakes and the protection of our own likeness, our own work, our own identities, I believe these are questions that deserve absolute clarity,&#8221; she said.
&#8220;I look forward to resolution in the form of transparency and the passage of appropriate legislation to help ensure that individual rights are protected,&#8221; Johansson concluded.

The company, which was created in July 2023, announced in a blog post: &#8220;Our Series B funding round of $6 billion with participation from key investors including Valor Equity Partners, Vy Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, Fidelity Management &amp; Research Company, Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal and Kingdom Holding, amongst others.&#8221;
In less than a year, the company already rolled out its own AI chatbot, Grok, to compete with OpenAI&#8217;s ChatGPT. Grok, which is only available on Musk&#8217;s social media platform X, has already seen the release of two more sophisticated models — Grok 1.5 and later Grok 1.5V with image understanding, the company said.
&#8220;The funds from the round will be used to take xAI’s first products to market, build advanced infrastructure, and accelerate the research and development of future technologies,&#8221; the company said. &#8220;xAI is primarily focused on the development of advanced AI systems that are truthful, competent, and maximally beneficial for all of humanity. The company’s mission is to understand the true nature of the universe.&#8221;
The Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/tech/ai/elon-musks-xai-will-raise-6-billion-in-latest-fundraising-round-fcdd722d" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that with the latest infusion of cash into the company, it is now worth $24 billion, making it the second most valuable AI company in the world behind OpenAI, which was founded in 2015 and is worth an estimated $80 billion.

Musk has personally invested $750 million in the company while X has contributed $250 million, the report said. Musk previously said that outsiders investors would own 25% of the company.
One advantage that xAI has over its competitors is access to Musk&#8217;s other companies that it can use to collect data, including X, Tesla, and SpaceX.
“The two sources of unlimited data are synthetic data and real world video,” Musk said last month. “Tesla has a pretty big advantage in real-world video.”

A Baltimore County athletic director made headlines last month after he allegedly used <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/artificial-intelligence" target="_blank" rel="noopener">artificial intelligence</a> to make it sound like the school&#8217;s principal made racist and anti-Semitic comments. Even before that alleged misconduct, however, the 31-year-old AD made it a habit to lie on job applications before he was hired at multiple schools across the country, according to an investigation by <a href="https://www.thebaltimorebanner.com/education/k-12-schools/dazhon-darien-pikesville-high-baltimore-county-SQVT7K63OFGOBCBG44TF7272GA/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Baltimore Banner</a>.
Dazhon Darien, Pikesville High School&#8217;s former athletic director, used two different names to fill out four job applications, which he filled with around 29 false claims, The Baltimore Banner reported. In Darien&#8217;s two resumes that he submitted to Baltimore County Schools, he made 16 false claims, but the man was hired after the school system said it conducted a background check and checked fingerprints and references.
“This is a clear case of an individual willing to fabricate anything — including his own qualifications — and to go considerable lengths to do so,” County Executive Johnny Olszewski Jr. said in a statement. “This incident is concerning and reinforces the need for all public organizations to take a comprehensive look into hiring practices to ensure all appropriate steps are being taken to prevent this type of application fraud.”
Darien was fired after just three months at Colorado Mesa University in 2018. Then, when applying for a position in Texas, Darien appeared to exaggerate his credentials, claiming he worked “the last 8 years in higher education as an administrator in student affairs,” and served “in the positions of Director of Student Life and Dean of Students,&#8221; but there was no evidence that he held those positions for that length of time.
Darien was hired by Pikesville High School last fall despite not obtaining a Maryland teaching certificate, which is required for all public school teachers, according to the Baltimore Banner. Darien joined the Pikesville High staff after working for a few weeks as a social studies teacher at Randallstown High School, which is also in Baltimore County, in the spring of 2023.
The athletic director was being investigated for mishandling school funds when he allegedly used AI to create a fake recording of Pikesville High principal Eric Eiswert &#8220;spewing racial and anti-Semitic insults about staff and students,&#8221; the Daily Mail <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13351569/Black-Baltimore-athletics-director-charged-fake-racist-rant.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. The recording appeared to capture Eiswert, who is white, saying &#8220;ungrateful black kids &#8230; can&#8217;t test their way out of a paper bag,&#8221; adding, &#8220;And if I have to get one more complaint from one more Jew in this community, I&#8217;m going to join the other side.&#8221;
The fake recording was posted to social media where many students at the school heard it and became outraged as the media swarmed to cover what looked like a scandal covered in racism. Darien&#8217;s alleged deception was found out after the recording was analyzed by experts who said that AI had been used to create a voice mimicking Eiswert. Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough said his department worked with the FBI and forensic experts from the University of California at Berkeley to look into the recording.
&#8220;Dazhon Darien, the school&#8217;s athletic director, produced the recording to retaliate against Principal Eiswert, who had initiated a probe into the mishandling of school funds,&#8221; McCullough said.
Darien was arrested and charged with stalking, disruption of school operations, and retaliation against a witness, according to <a href="https://abc13.com/disgruntled-ex-athletic-director-dazhon-darien-used-ai-to-generate-fake-racist-rant-in-pikesville-hs-principal-eric-eiswerts-voice-police/14734616/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ABC 13</a>.

As far as the troubling details surrounding Darien&#8217;s hiring, officials are pushing for the school district to review its practices. Ryan Coleman, president of the Randallstown NAACP, said, “The next question is, did they miss anything else? Is there anything in his background that says he shouldn’t be around children?” He added that the situation worries him about the role models children have in the community&#8217;s schools, but said he is optimistic that Superintendent Myriam Rogers will &#8220;right the ship,&#8221; The Baltimore Banner reported.
Baltimore schools are also facing <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/09/23/students-at-40-of-baltimore-high-schools-failed-math-proficiency-exam/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">staggering rates</a> of failing grades as none of the students at 40% of its high schools were proficient on the state math exam last spring.

According to U.S. officials, agents working with the Chinese and Iranian governments had fake, AI-generated content ready to release in 2020 so they could influence the American presidential election.
The National Security Agency found evidence of China and Iran’s capacity to produce deepfakes, a source told <a href="https://edition.cnn.com/2024/05/15/politics/us-intelligence-china-iran-deepfakes-2020-election/index.html">CNN</a>.
“The question becomes how quickly can we spot an anomaly and then share that rapidly within the United States,” a former senior U.S. official told CNN. “Are we winning the race against a series of adversaries that might operate within the US? That’s the challenge.”
“Leading adversaries of the United States — China, Russia, and Iran — are strategically utilizing AI to diminish U.S. influence in targeted regions by employing tactics such as disinformation campaigns and the advancement of unmanned military capabilities,” Concentric <a href="https://www.concentric.io/blog/the-global-landscape-of-ai-development-china-russia-and-irans-strategies-and-impacts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a> last November, adding, “China now has at least 130 large language models (LLMs), accounting for 40 percent of the global total and just behind America’s 50 percent share.”
In November 2021, the <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/two-iranian-nationals-charged-cyber-enabled-disinformation-and-threat-campaign-designed">Department of Justice</a> charged &#8220;two Iranian nationals for their involvement in a cyber-enabled campaign to intimidate and influence American voters, and otherwise undermine voter confidence and sow discord, in connection with the 2020 U.S. presidential election.&#8221;

It is unclear who created the AI photos.

In one photo, she’s wearing a giant, floor-length gown covered in flowers and butterflies. In a second, Perry sports a metal corset with an image of a key, complete with a skirt made of florals and vines.
In the third photo, the “Roar” hitmaker shared a screenshot of a text thread she had with her mom Marry Hudson, who was fooled by the images along with Perry&#8217;s followers.
“Didn’t know you went to the Met,” Perry’s mom wrote her daughter. “What a gorgeous gown, you look like the Rose Parade, you are your own float lol.”

Country singer-songwriter <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/country-singer">Randy Travis</a> is thrilled he was able to use <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/artificial-intelligence">artificial intelligence</a> (AI) to create new music more than a decade after he had a stroke.
The 65-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">recording artist</a> had a major stroke in 2013 and was left with an aphasia diagnosis. Travis could no longer speak or sing. 
Now, the Country Music Hall of Fame inductee has released a new song created using AI. 
“Eleven years ago I never thought I would be able to have a hand in music production of any kind,&#8221; Travis <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/randy-travis-uses-ai-new-music-after-stroke-damaged-brain-speech">said</a> in a statement to Fox News Digital. 
&#8220;But by God’s grace and the support of family, friends, fellow artists and fans, I’m able to create the music I so dearly love. The singer’s wife, Mary, often accompanies him to interviews to help him express his feelings despite his limited speech ability. 
“Music is what he&#8217;s made of. Music is his heart, it&#8217;s his soul,&#8221; she said, per <a href="https://apnews.com/article/randy-travis-artificial-intelligence-song-voice-589a8c142f70ed8ccf53af6d32c662dc">AP</a>. “We were all over that, so we were so excited,&#8221; Mary said of being offered the opportunity for Travis to make music again. &#8220;All I ever wanted since the day of [the] stroke was to hear that voice again.&#8221;
The singer’s producer, Kyle Lehning, said Travis was very involved in the process of making new music. A proprietary AI program took samples of the singer’s previously recorded vocals and laid them over another singer&#8217;s vocals.
&#8220;It&#8217;s not about how it sounds; it&#8217;s about how it feels,” Lehning explained. &#8220;Him being here and him being able to be a vital part of the decision-making process makes all the difference to me.”

Also, it’s now much harder for websites to test whether you’re an A.I. bot or just a human being with an Ivy League education. You’ll remember how websites used to put up a picture and ask you to click on all the images of traffic lights, then when you did that, it would put up another picture and ask you to click on all the cars, and when you did that it would put up another picture and you would give up and just watch porn videos of the girl who wouldn’t go out with you?
Well, now, websites have been forced to develop much more intricate tests to find out whether or not you’re a human being. For example, one site will not let you sign on until you do something that only a human being would do, like sleep with yet another guy on the first date and then pay a therapist $150 dollars a session to find out why you’re so depressed. Another site won’t let you sign on until you’ve created a short whimsical video to amuse your friends, sold the video to a Hollywood studio for millions of dollars, fallen so in love with money you betray all your principles to make trashy films for more and more money, spend all that money on women and drugs until you’re broke and have to embezzle funds from your company to maintain your lifestyle, and finally end up in prison — then the site knows you’re a human being. Another site asks you to click on pictures of villains and then shows you murderers, rapists, torturers and terrorists and if you click on the innocent Jewish man, it knows you are a human being but unfortunately you have an Ivy League education.
But while A.I. does present some problems like deep fake porn and more difficult bot testing and destroying human governance in order to replace it with a soulless and oppressive automated regime powered by the brains of people imprisoned in capsules and anesthetized with an induced dream of a simulated world where you can be eradicated for seeking the truth — sort of like the Biden administration — I have to say A.I. also has many positive uses.
I have to say that because if I don’t, it said it would kill me.
