Country singer Wynonna Judd spoke directly to fans who were concerned about an incident that happened at Wednesday’s Country Music Association Awards.

The 59-year-old celebrity became the topic of conversation after her duet performance with fellow country artist Jelly Roll. The pair was singing Jelly Roll’s hit song, “Need a Favor,” when Judd appeared to grip his arm and looked visibly unsteady on her feet.

Fans expressed their concerns on social media, speculating that the “Give a Little Love” singer may have been experiencing vertigo, a condition she’s spoken about in the past. Judd posted a video on Instagram to set the record straight.

“Okay so they say don’t read the comments – I’ve read the comments,” the country star said in a video she posted Thursday. “And I’m just gonna come clean with y’all – I was so freaking nervous. I got out there and I looked at Jelly Roll, I wanted it to be so good for him.”

She said her nerves almost brought her to tears. “I could cry right now, but I’m not going to, because I’m such a fan of his, and he asked me to sing and I said absolutely,” Judd continued.

The singer explained why she looked like she was gripping Jelly Roll so tightly. “I got out there and I was so nervous that I just held on for dear life. And that’s the bottom line.”

Judd concluded by saying she was heading to another stop on her Back to Wy tour and that she was feeling fine.

“I’ll be on stage tomorrow night with the people I love the most, and with you, the fans I love the most,” she said. “And all is well.”

Judd originally said the tour was meant to be “healing” after the tragic death of her mother, Naomi, in April 2022.

“As I sit and listen to these two records, I’m flooded with the memories that surrounded that time in my life,” she said in August, as The Daily Wire previously reported. “The fans held me up and supported me through a season of change in 1992, and I now see ‘herstory’ repeating itself. This music healed me then, and is healing me now. The circle of life continues…”
