Trump Roasts White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Says SNL Star ‘BOMBED’ And Biden Was ‘An Absolute Disaster’
Former President Donald Trump delivered a scathing review of the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner (WHCD) that took place on Saturday evening in Washington, D.C.
The “Nerd Prom,” as the WHCD is known, featured quips targeted at Trump delivered by President Joe Biden and the event’s headliner, “Saturday Night Live” star Colin Jost, while anti-Israel protesters swarmed the streets outside of the swanky affair.
“The White House Correspondents’ Dinner was really bad. Colin Jost BOMBED, and Crooked Joe was an absolute disaster! Doesn’t get much worse than this!” Trump said in a post to his Truth Social platform.

During his remarks, Biden took repeated jabs at Trump, calling him “Sleepy Don” and alluding to the former president’s ongoing legal battles. In addition, Biden used a quip to make light of voter concerns about his age — 81 — to knock his political rival.

“The 2024 election is in full swing and, yes, age is an issue. I’m a grown man running against a 6-year-old,” Biden said. “Well I feel great. I really feel great.”
Biden also sought to convey a more serious message concerning Trump allegedly being a threat to democracy and warning about “disinformation.” At the same time, Biden urged the media to “rise up” to the moment and uttered a series of partial truths and out-of-context quotes.
Jost used his time at the podium to tell jokes as well, including one directed at Biden and his struggles to maintain the support of black voters in the run-up to the 2024 election.
“My ‘Weekend Update’ co-anchor Michael Che was going to join me here tonight but in solidarity with President Biden I decided to lose all my black support,” he said.

Jost got in some cracks aimed at Trump as well, saying at one point, “It’s after 10 p.m. ‘Sleepy Joe’ is still awake while Donald Trump has spent the past week falling asleep in court every morning – though Fox News said he was just being anti-woke.”
Colin Jost: "My grandpa voted for decency and decency is why we're all here tonight. Decency is how we're able to be here tonight. Decency is how we're able to make jokes about each other and one of us doesn't go to prison after…"#WHCA #WHCD #nerdprom pic.twitter.com/ti5bTkHQP7

Toward the end of his remarks, Jost got sentimental as he spoke about his late grandfather William Kelly, who was a firefighter in Staten Island, supporting Biden in the 2020 election.
“He voted for you and the reason that he voted for you is because you’re a decent man,” Jost said to Biden. “My grandpa voted for decency and decency is why we’re all here tonight.”
