Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce on Wednesday appeared to reveal a nickname he has for pop star girlfriend Taylor Swift.
During Kelce’s weekly podcast “New Heights” with his brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, Travis was asked about Swift “liking” a Chiefs’ Instagram post about his latest career accomplishment of becoming the fastest tight end to amass 11,000 receiving yards.
“Thanks, Tay,” Kelce replied. “I appreciate you on the Chiefs page supporting.”
When pressed further by his brother whether the superstar singer “has always been a fan of tight end receiving yards,” Travis replied with a smile and said, “I don’t know if she’s a tight end fan or not. I’ll have to ask her.”
The KC tight end recently spilled the details about his romance with the 33-year-old singer and acknowledged that it didn’t all start with a friendship bracelet, or that first Chiefs football game Swift attended in September.
In the cover story for the Wall Street Journal magazine, Kelce said while it’s true he failed to meet Swift when she was performing at Arrowhead Stadium in July, they did end up getting introduced to each other soon after.
“There were definitely people she [Swift] knew that knew who I was, in her corner [who said]: Yo! Did you know he was coming? I had somebody playing Cupid,” Kelce said.

“[The Cupid] told me exactly what was going on and how I got lucky enough to get [Swift] to reach out,” he added, noting about looking down at his phone and getting what the outlet called “the shock of a lifetime.”
“She’ll probably hate me for saying this, but … when [Swift] came to Arrowhead, they gave her the big locker room as a dressing room, and her little cousins were taking pictures … in front of my locker,” Kelce continued.
In the same interview, the Chiefs player said that he and Swift have compatible views, especially when it comes to family and work.
“Everybody knows I’m a family guy,” Kelce said. “Her team is her family. Her family does a lot of stuff in terms of the tour, the marketing, being around, so I think she has a lot of those values as well, which is right up my alley.”
Swift officially completed the 2023 leg of her “The Eras Tour” after her show in Brazil on Sunday. The “Shake It Off” hitmaker is now on hiatus until February when the tour picks up in Japan.
