Adam Sandler got everyone’s attention when he dropped the official trailer for “Happy Gilmore 2” nearly 30 years since the original movie hit the big screen.
In a viral post on Tuesday on <a href="https://x.com/AdamSandler/status/1901966979264852389">X</a>, the 58-year-old actor wrote, “Hope you all have fun and thanks for all the great times.”
His post included a one-minute-plus clip giving fans a sneak peak at what they could expect when the sequel hits Netflix July 25, when he reprises the role of the unlikely golfer Happy Gilmore.
In the trailer, we see his character clearly hesitant about facing off against a handful of PGA greats, saying he “hasn’t swung a club in years.” However, he finally decides to find a “new happy place” and head back to the golf course. And, as expected, all kinds of chaos is about to happen.

Fans have been waiting a long time for a sequel to Sandler’s hilarious 1996 golf comedy, in which he played a hockey player turned golfer to save his grandmother’s home.
Several original movie stars are returning for the sequel, including Christopher McDonald as rival golfer Shooter McGavin, and Julie Bowen, who plays Gilmore’s love interest.
The news comes after Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce dropped a teaser trailer in December in which he made a brief appearance in Sandler’s highly-anticipated “Happy Gilmore 2.”
In the clip Kelce posted to <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/DEP410wIt46/?igsh=NjZiM2M3MzIxNA%3D%3D">Instagram</a>, the Chiefs star told Sandler’s character in the trailer, “It’s great to see you back, Mr. Gilmore!”
He captioned the post, “It’s great to see you back in 2025, Mr. Gilmore! Wishing everyone a HAPPY New Year with HAPPY GILMORE 2, coming to @netflix in the new year.”
Kelce’s involvement in the film comes after the Chiefs tight end made it clear on a past episode of his &#8220;New Heights&#8221; podcast that he was a &#8220;Happy Gilmore&#8221; fan, and if there were a sequel in the works, he <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ae1J82fM23Q">would love to be part of it</a>.
Sandler later appeared on the Kelce brothers’ podcast and hinted at the role the Chiefs star player would have in the movie.
“Travis, we’re gonna have fun because the scene you’re doing is with so many great golfers it’s going to be amazing. You’re going to be funny as hell,” the famed actor said, <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Culture/adam-sandler-travis-kelce-talk-athletes-happy-gilmore/story?id=113221086">ABC News</a> noted.

Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce appears to have made a decision about whether or not he’s retiring from the NFL, telling podcast host Pat McAfee he’s returning for another season.
During “<a href="https://x.com/PatMcAfeeShow/status/1895175295520645395">The Pat McAfee Show</a>” on Thursday, the host said he had been hearing reports about Kelce possibly sticking around for a 13th season and decided to message his sources, which turned out to be the Super Bowl-winning tight end himself.
McAfee said his text from sources read, “I’m coming back for sure. Gonna try and get to the best shape I’ve been this offseason.”

“And get back to the mountaintop,” the host added. “Got a real bad taste in my mouth with how I played in that last game and how I got the guys ready for battle. I can’t go out like that!”
The host noted that the text ended in multiple exclamation points making it clear Kelce is coming back to play another year with Chiefs.
Talk of retirement really took off following the Chiefs&#8217; failure to secure a three-peat Super Bowl victory against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.
Following the Super Bowl loss, Chiefs star QB Patrick Mahomes seemed to be unsure if Kelce would be back.
Mahomes said he would “let Travis make that decision on his own. He&#8217;s given so much to this team and to the NFL. And he&#8217;s been such a joy, not only for me to work with, but for people to watch.&#8221;
During the NFL Combines this week, Kansas City Chiefs GM <a href="https://x.com/TomPelissero/status/1894560760207941762">Brett Veach</a> talked about Kelce’s future.
“We anticipate Travis being back,” Veach said. “We’re excited to have Travis back and that’s how we’re operating this offseason.”
“He [Kelce] was battling with a pretty big illness there before the Super Bowl,” he added. “I think Travis is excited to come back. He makes us better when he’s in our locker room and on the field and excited to get him back.”
Kelce goes into the 2025 season at 35-years-old. His stats for his career prove he will definitely be in the football Hall of Fame one day, leading the pack of tight ends with a recorded 1,004 receptions for 12,151 yards with 77 touchdowns over 12 seasons playing in 175 career regular-season games, <a href="https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/travis-kelce-will-return-to-chiefs-in-2025">NBCSports</a> noted.
The Chiefs tight end&#8217;s postseason record is just as impressive with 20 touchdowns in 25 games and 178 career receptions for 2,078 yards.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was battling an illness when his team lost Super Bowl LIX 40-22 earlier this month, ending the team’s quest for a “three-peat.” 
The revelation was made by Chiefs General Manager Brett Veach. 
&#8220;Listen, we&#8217;re never going to make excuses but [Kelce] was battling through a pretty big illness there,&#8221; Veach <a href="https://people.com/travis-kelce-battling-illness-ahead-of-super-bowl-says-chiefs-gm-11686629">said</a>.
The GM mentioned that Kelce’s mysterious illness, which Veach did not reveal, likely didn’t make much of a difference in the outcome of the game, though. “We didn’t have the end to our season that we hoped for,” he added, saying the team “picked a bad day to have a bad day.” 
Veach also promised that the Chiefs would use the big loss as “motivation to get better.”
“You learn more from your losses than your wins,” he said.
The GM addressed rumors that Kelce, 35, is considering retirement. When asked if the tight end would return for the 2025 season, Veach said, “I think so. We anticipate Travis being back. We’re excited to have Travis back.”
Kelce himself sounded less confident when discussing the same topic earlier this month on the “New Heights” podcast he hosts with his brother, former Eagles offensive lineman Jason Kelce. Jason retired from his NFL career at the end of the 2023 season. 
“I know everybody wants to know whether or not I&#8217;m playing next year, and right now, I&#8217;m just kicking everything down the road. I&#8217;m not making any crazy decisions,” Travis <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tough-reality-travis-kelce-reflects-on-nfl-future-following-devastating-super-bowl-loss">said</a> during the episode that aired February 12. 
“That’s a lot of wear and tear on your body, and it’s a lot of time spent in the building focusing on your craft, focusing on the task at hand, every challenge that you set up for yourself, and that process can be grueling,” he continued. “It can weigh on you. It can make you better, it can drive you crazy, at the same time. And right now, it’s one of those things where it was kind of driving me crazy this year.”
While Travis made it sound like he was thinking about what to do for next season, Jason said during a later podcast interview that he believes his brother has already made up his mind. “I think Travis, I think he probably, in his heart, already knows what he wants to do,” the retired NFL star revealed. “That’s the reality of it.”

Seven Chilean men have been charged in the multi-million dollar heists of professional athletes like Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, and Cincinnati Bengals star QB Joe Burrow.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Florida federal court on Tuesday, the men have been charged with conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property in the burglaries of NBA and NFL players across the country, the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/mahomes-kelce-burrow-athletes-burglaries-chilean-charges-3c8b707fa21edc5d31285d88d6d80253">Associated Press</a> reported.
If convicted, each of the seven suspects faces a maximum of 10 years in federal prison, the AP noted.
While the <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-mdfl/pr/seven-chilean-nationals-charged-following-nationwide-burglaries-several-professional">complaint</a> doesn’t name each of the professional athletes who were burglarized, it does list the burglaries of professional players that were previously reported including the thefts at the homes of Mahomes, Kelce, and Burrow, the outlet noted.
The suspects were members of a South American Theft Group (SATG), the complaint noted.

&#8220;In many circumstances, professional sports teams will publicize their schedules and locations of their games, making it easy for the SATG to know when a particular athlete on a particular professional sports team will be away from his residence,&#8221; the complaint added.
The suspects named in the complaint are Jordan Quiroga Sanchez, 22; Bastian Orellano Morales, 23; Sergio Ortega Cabello, 38; Pablo Zuniga Cartes, 24; Ignacio Zuniga Cartes, 20; Alexander Huiaguil Chavez, 24; and Bastian Jimenez Freraut, 27, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/chilean-migrants-charged-travis-kelce-patrick-mahomes-joe-burrow-multimillion-dollar-heists">Fox News</a> noted.
In December, the Cincinnati Bengals QB became the next athlete to have his home broken into while he was on a road trip with his team.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to <a href="https://www.wlwt.com/article/joe-burrows-house-broken-into-report-during-football-game/63148465">WLWT</a> that Burrows’ $7.5 million Ohio home was burglarized and ransacked during Cincinnati’s 27-20 win over the Cowboys in Texas.
The NFL previously issued a security alert to players and teams following burglaries of the homes of the Kansas City Chiefs stars in October.
In a memo obtained by the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/nfl-security-alert-burglaries-mahomes-kelce-960075221367266fbee98f711a74c094">Associated Press</a> at the time, the league said homes of professional athletes have become “increasingly targeted for burglaries by organized and skilled groups.”
The memo labeled the transnational crime rings “well-organized, sophisticated,” and urged the players to safeguard valuables and avoid publicly sharing check-ins on social media or any information about their homes and any luxury items they might own, <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/cincinnati-bengals-qb-joe-burrow-home-burglary-rcna183666">NBC News</a> noted.
Officials noted that the homes were specifically being targeted when players were at their games.

“I know everybody wants to know whether or not I’m playing next year,” Travis said. “Right now, I’m just kicking everything down the road. … and I’m not making any crazy decisions, but right now, the biggest thing is just being there for my teammates and being there for my coaches, understanding that there’s a lot goes into this thing.”

“As you see yourself or not feel yourself have the success that you once used to have,” Kelce said. “Man, it’s a tough pill to swallow.”
“And then on top of that, to not be there in the biggest moments, knowing your team’s counting on you, man, those are all extremely hard things, to0, it’s just a tough reality,” he added. “I think I am going to take some time to figure it out.”
“I owe it to my teammates that if I do come back, then it’s going to be something that is a wholehearted decision; I’m not half-a**ing it,” Kelce continued. “I’m fully here for them. Jason went on to say the game was “odd” to watch because of “mixed emotions before, during, and after.” The former center said his feelings of rooting for both sides were likely similar to what his parents went through when he was still playing and both of their sons were on different teams, including when they became the first brothers in history to play each other at the 2023 Super Bowl, which the Chiefs won 38 &#8211; 35.
“On one hand, I wanted what is best for my brother, and to see his success. And on the other hand, there are so many people, teammates, and coaches, in the Philadelphia Eagles organization that I care deeply about &#8230; many of whom I owe my own success to throughout my career,” Kelce added. 
Jason spent his entire 13-year NFL career playing for the Eagles.

The Eagles’ big win was the franchise&#8217;s second Super Bowl title and dashed the Chiefs in their quest for a history-making &#8220;three-peat,” or winning three Super Bowl titles in a row.

President Donald Trump gave his pre-Super Bowl analysis in a Truth Social post on Friday morning, praising players on both the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadephia Eagles while ripping the NFL&#8217;s new kickoff rule.
Trump is expected to be in attendance at the big game in New Orleans on Sunday, becoming the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl. In his social media <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/113962763765213252" target="_blank" rel="noopener">post</a>, Trump had some nice words for both teams&#8217; coaches, quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts, and Eagles running back Saquon Barkley. Trump saved his highest praise for Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Kansas City star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/travis-kelce">Travis Kelce</a> appeared to shake off the haters, calling it “a great honor” that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-to-become-first-sitting-president-to-attend-super-bowl">President Donald Trump</a> will be attending Super Bowl LIX on Sunday in New Orleans — even after Trump made it clear months earlier that he wasn&#8217;t a fan of Kelce&#8217;s superstar girlfriend <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/taylor-swift" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Taylor Swift</a>.
Speaking to members of the <a href="https://people.com/travis-kelce-says-it-s-a-great-honor-to-have-trump-at-super-bowl-8786317">press</a>, the Chiefs player was asked his reaction to Trump becoming the first sitting U.S. President to ever attend the Super Bowl, which is set to take place between the Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles at the Caesars Superdome.
“That’s awesome. It’s a great honor,” <a href="https://x.com/ClayTravis/status/1887220979988054184">Kelce</a> said. &#8220;I think you know, no matter who the president is, I know I&#8217;m excited because it&#8217;s the biggest game of my life, you know, and having the president there — it&#8217;s the best country in the world — and that&#8217;s pretty cool.&#8221;
When Chiefs star QB <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/patrick-mahomes">Patrick Mahomes</a> was asked the same question, he gave a similar response.
“It’s always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting president,” <a href="https://x.com/AP/status/1887200725651833142">Mahomes</a> said. “Someone that is at the top position in our country.”
The comments from Kelce and Mahomes come months after <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-reacts-to-taylor-swifts-kamala-endorsement">Trump</a> blasted Swift for publicly endorsing Trump’s former opponent for president, former Vice President Kamala Harris.

During his appearance in September on “<a href="https://x.com/ConservBrief/status/1833832221540602188">Fox and Friends</a>,” Trump called in and was asked what he thought about Swift’s public support of Harris and he noted that she had always been a Democrat supporter.
“I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better, if you want to know the truth,” the president told the hosts, referencing Chiefs QB Mahomes’ wife <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-thanks-brittany-mahomes-for-defending-presidents-2024-maga-platform">Brittany Mahomes</a> who made headlines after she liked a Trump post and promptly went on defense against the “haters.”
“She’s a big Trump fan,” he added. “I was not a Taylor Swift fan. It was just a question of time. She couldn’t … you couldn’t possibly endorse [President Joe] Biden.”
“You look at Biden, you couldn’t possibly endorse him,” Trump continued. “But she’s a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat. And she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace. But no, I like Brittany. I think Brittany’s great. She got a lot of news last week …”

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/travis-kelce" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Travis Kelce</a> definitely got everyone’s attention when he dropped a teaser trailer for Adam Sandler’s highly-anticipated &#8220;Happy Gilmore 2.&#8221;
In a clip Kelce posted to <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/DEP410wIt46/?igsh=NjZiM2M3MzIxNA%3D%3D">Instagram</a> on Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs star made a brief appearance in the trailer for the new Netflix movie, telling Sandler’s character, &#8220;It’s great to see you back, Mr. Gilmore!”
He captioned the post, “It’s great to see you back in 2025, Mr. Gilmore! Wishing everyone a HAPPY New Year with HAPPY GILMORE 2, coming to<a href="https://www.instagram.com/netflix/"> @netflix</a> in the new year.”
There were several reactions to the clip, including one message from fellow Chiefs star QB Patrick Mahomes, who wrote, “Let’s Go,” along with a fire emoji.
One comment from the official account for the Kelce brothers&#8217; “New Heights Show” podcast read, “Uh oh, Travvy learned how to putt,” along with a crying laughing face emoji.

Kelce’s involvement in the film comes after the Chiefs tight end made it clear on a past episode of his podcast that he was a Happy Gilmore fan, and if there were a sequel in the works, he <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ae1J82fM23Q">would love to be part of it</a>. 
Sandler later appeared on the Kelce brothers&#8217; podcast and hinted at the role the Chiefs star player would have in the movie.
&#8220;Travis we&#8217;re gonna have fun because the scene you&#8217;re doing is with so many great golfers it&#8217;s going to be amazing. You&#8217;re going to be funny as hell,&#8221; the famed actor said, <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Culture/adam-sandler-travis-kelce-talk-athletes-happy-gilmore/story?id=113221086">ABC News</a> noted.
It will mark the first time the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/taylor-swift-travis-kelce-spotted-at-us-open-and-double-date-with-patrick-and-brittany-mahomes-following-maga-controversy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NFL star</a> appears in a movie after taking part in several TV projects like “Moonbase 8” and “Grotesquerie.&#8221;
Fans have been waiting a long time for a sequel to Sandler’s hilarious 1996 golf comedy, in which he played hockey player turned golfer to save his grandmother’s home. Based on the trailer, several original movie stars are returning for the sequel, including Christopher McDonald as rival golfer Shooter McGavin and Julie Bowen, who plays Gilmore&#8217;s love interest.
It’s fair to say the movie helped launch Sandler&#8217;s movie career, turning him from supporting roles to the leading man in such hits as “The Wedding Singer,” “The Waterboy,” “Anger Management,” and “50 First Dates.”
“Happy Gilmore 2”  is expected to debut sometime in 2025.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/cincinnati-bengals" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cincinnati Bengals</a> star QB Joe Burrow has become the latest athlete to have his home broken into while he was on a road trip with his team.
The Hamilton County’s Sheriff’s Office confirmed to <a href="https://www.wlwt.com/article/joe-burrows-house-broken-into-report-during-football-game/63148465">WLWT</a> that Burrow’s $7.5 million Ohio home was burglarized and ransacked during Cincinnati’s 27-20 win over the Cowboys in Texas on Monday.
The outlet reported that a 911 call came in from a woman whose daughter was staying at the QB’s home, saying, “Someone is trying to break into the house right now.”

“My daughter is there. This is Joe Burrow’s house,” the mom added. “She is staying there. He’s at the football game. She’s wondering what she should do, if she should be hiding, or if she should go outside. She said someone was in the house.”
A second 911 call came from the person staying at Burrow&#8217;s house, saying, “Someone broke into my house. It’s like completely messed up.”

The NFL recently issued a security alert to players and teams following two separate burglaries of the homes of Kansas City Chiefs players <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/patrick-mahomes" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Patrick Mahomes</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/travis-kelce" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Travis Kelce</a>.
In a memo obtained by the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/nfl-security-alert-burglaries-mahomes-kelce-960075221367266fbee98f711a74c094">Associated Press</a>, the league said homes of professional athletes have become “increasingly targeted for burglaries by organized and skilled groups.”
The memo labeled the transnational crime rings “well-organized, sophisticated,” and urged the players to safeguard valuables and avoid publicly sharing check-ins on social media or any information about their homes and any luxury items they might own, <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/cincinnati-bengals-qb-joe-burrow-home-burglary-rcna183666">NBC News</a> noted.
Officials noted that the homes are specifically being targeted when players are at their games.
Mahomes’ home was burglarized on Sunday, October 6, the day before the team’s victory on Monday Night Football against the New Orleans Saints, the outlet noted.
On the day of the game, the home belonging to Kelce was broken into while the team was playing against the Saints. At the time, <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2024/11/12/patrick-mahomes-travis-kelce-homes-burglarized/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TMZ</a> reported that $20,000 in cash was stolen and a back door was damaged.
A South American crime ring is believed to be the culprit in at least the Chiefs burglaries, the <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/12/10/sports/joe-burrows-home-broken-into-during-mnf-in-another-athlete-robbery/">New York Post </a>reported.
At the time of this report, Burrow or the Bengals have yet to comment on the burglary.

Former NFL player and ESPN host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jason-kelce-breaks-silence-on-penn-state-heckler-incident">Jason Kelce</a> has been cleared in a phone-smashing heckler incident at Pennsylvania State University last month.
In a statement on Tuesday, Penn State police said it has closed its investigation and Kelce has been cleared of any wrongdoing after he was seen on video throwing a heckler’s phone to the ground after the person called his brother <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/travis-kelce">Travis Kelce</a> a “f****t for dating Taylor Swift,” the <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/nfl/article-14177971/Police-issue-major-update-Jason-Kelce-phone-smashing-incident.html">Daily Mail</a> reported.
“The individual in the video footage circulating on social media has not been identified, and no one has come forward to University Police with a related complaint about damage to personal property,” the Penn State statement read. 
In the <a href="https://x.com/Outkick/status/1852792827710697785">video</a> that surfaced on X, the former Philadelphia Eagles star was attempting to walk into the Ohio State-Penn State college football game when he was surrounded outside Penn State’s Beaver Stadium, as The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jason-kelce-harassed-at-penn-state-smashes-hecklers-phone">Daily Wire</a> previously reported. One of the people who was walking very close to him was a male college student who pointed his phone&#8217;s camera in Kelce’s face and began harassing him.
In the clip, the person could be heard saying to Kelce, whose brother is dating the superstar singer, “Kelce, how does it feel that your brother is a f****t for dating Taylor Swift?”
A second <a href="https://x.com/barstoolsports/status/1852779425990914182">video</a> showed a close-up shot of Jason looking directly at the heckler while he made the comments. In response, Kelce grabbed the phone and threw it to the ground. He then bent down to pick it up before walking away.
In a third <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/DB4pgg5CqFZ/?igsh=MTBlZjE4YzMxOA%3D%3D">clip</a>, Kelce could be seen bending down to pick up the dropped phone, at which point the heckler put his hand on Kelce and shoved the former NFL player to the ground. Kelce then stood up and lashed out at the heckler, saying “Who’s the f****t now?” before he walked off to attend the game.
The former Eagles star later addressed what happened in the video and admitted that he wasn’t happy with any of what had happened.
“Listen, I’m not happy with anything that took place,” Kelce said on the show. “I’m not proud of it. And in a heated moment, I chose to greet hate with hate. And I just don’t think that that’s a productive thing.”
“I really don’t,” he added. “I don’t think that it leads to discourse and it’s the right way to go about things. In that moment I fell down to a level that I shouldn’t have. So, bottom line is, I try to live my life by the golden rule. That’s what I’ve always been taught … even though I fell short this week.”
Kelce retired from the Eagles in March 2024. He is a host of the “New Heights” podcast with his brother Travis in addition to working for the sports network.

In a post Friday on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DCsStvWOmL6/">Instagram</a>, the wife of the ESPN sportscaster shared a picture of their three girls &#8212; Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 15 months &#8212; all wearing cute, long-sleeve pink sweaters that read, “Big Sister.”
The funny part is only one of them was smiling &#8212; Ellie. Youngest daughter Bennett was in tears, and Wyatt was making a face with her hands over her ears.
“I feel like we captured a very accurate representation of how each of the girls feel about getting another sister,&#8221; Kylie’s post read. &#8220;At least Ellie, mom and dad are on the same page!”
Reading through the comments, everyone made it clear they couldn’t have been more excited for the couple’s news.

In July, Kylie hit back at tabloid rumors that she and Jason were expecting in a <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@kyliekelce/video/7393370263125085471?lang=en">TikTok</a> about nipping the rumors in the bud, saying she was not pregnant.
She said in the video that there have been numerous articles written about her for the last year “stating that I am pregnant” and added she couldn’t stand “people writing such insensitive articles about a sensitive topic.”
