On December 13, several students surrounded and began bullying a Jewish student during a lunch break at Ernst Reuter High School in Berlin, Germany, after he said he did not favor a Palestinian state, Arutz Sheva 7 reported. According to witnesses, one of the Arab students screamed at him “Hitler was good because he killed the Jews!”
The student also reported that other students shouted at him “You are child-killers!” and “They should cut off your heads!”
Berliner Zeitung, which first reported the story, notes that the school principal, Andreas Huth, wrote on the school’s website that the incident revealed an “anti-Semitic, anti-Jewish and anti-Israel attitude against which we have reacted, and will continue to do so.”
The Jewish student, who has attended the school for two years, had reportedly been “avoiding spending his recess hours in the schoolyard out of fear of being attacked.”
Jews who live in Germany are facing a growing wave of anti-Semitism and violence, an increase that many have connected to the rise in the number of Muslim immigrants from the Middle East and North Africa. The Daily Wire reported in November that Jews in certain areas in Germany are starting to abandon wearing their yarmulkes in public after multiple attacks by Muslims have sent shock waves of fear throughout the Jewish community.
New statistics from Pew Research show that Islam will be the fastest growing religious group in the world by 2035 — based solely on reproductive rates. “The Muslim population in Europe, now accounting for 4.9% of the total population, is projected to continue to rise,” Pew Research reported. “Even if there is no new migration in the coming decades (an unlikely scenario), the Muslim share of the region’s population is expected to increase to 7.4% by 2050.”
