Senate Schedules First Confirmation Hearings For Trump 2.0 Nominees

Appearances begin next week, ahead of Inauguration Day.

The GOP-led Senate has already scheduled confirmation hearings with many of President-elect Donald Trump‘s nominees for top roles in his second administration.

Hearings are set to begin next week on Capitol Hill, ahead of Inauguration Day on January 20. Some may last multiple days. Below is a list of the hearings that have been formally announced as of Saturday.

Former Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA), Trump’s nominee for secretary of veterans affairs, is set to appear before the Veterans’ Affairs Committee on Tuesday, January 14, at 9 a.m. ET.

Pete Hegseth, Trump’s nominee to become secretary of defense, is scheduled to get a hearing with the Armed Service Committee on Tuesday, January 14, at 9:30 a.m. ET.

The Energy and National Resources Committee announced a hearing with former North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, Trump’s pick for secretary of interior, for Tuesday, January 14, at 10 a.m. ET.

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, Trump’s pick for homeland security secretary, is expected to appear for a hearing with the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Wednesday, January 15, at 9 a.m. ET.

The Judiciary Committee said the hearing for Pam Bondi, Trump’s pick to be U.S. attorney general, will take place on Wednesday, January 15, at 9:30 a.m. ET and Thursday, January 16, at 10:15 a.m. ET.

Chris Wright, Trump’s nominee for secretary of energy, is slated to appear before the Energy and National Resources Committee on Wednesday, January 15, at 10 a.m. ET.

Former Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI), Trump’s choice to become secretary of transportation, is set to testify before the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee on Wednesday, January 15, at 10 a.m. ET.

The Senate Intelligence Committee scheduled a hearing for former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, Trump’s pick to become CIA director, to take place on Wednesday, January 15, at 10 a.m. ET.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), who is Trump’s nominee for secretary of state, is poised to appear for his hearing held by the Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday, January 15, at 10 a.m. ET.

The Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee is expected to bring in Trump’s pick to return as Office of Management and Budget director, Russell Vought, on Wednesday, January 15, at 1 p.m. ET.

Former Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY), the nominee to become administrator of the EPA, is scheduled to appear before the Environment and Public Works Committee on Thursday, January 16, at 10 a.m. ET.

The Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee said a hearing for Scott Turner, Trump’s nominee for secretary of housing and urban development, will take place on Thursday, January 16, at 10 a.m. ET.

Scott Bessent, Trump’s pick for treasury secretary, is poised to testify before the Finance Committee on Thursday, January 16, at 10:30 a.m. ET.

Some nominees have yet to receive an official date for a hearing, including FBI director nominee Kash Patel and Robert F. Kennedy, Trump’s pick to become secretary of Health and Human Services.

The confirmation hearing that had been scheduled for next week with former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), Trump’s pick for director of national intelligence, was delayed by Senate Democrats.
