Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY) was caught on a hot mic Thursday afternoon telling President Joe Biden (D) that Democrats were in trouble with just days before next month’s midterm elections.
“That seat, we’re in danger in that seat,” Schumer told Biden, adding a few moments later, “It’s close. We’ll see.”
It’s not clear what seat Schumer was talking about as press poll coverage did not show what was said just prior to Schumer’s remarks.
Schumer then addressed the recent disastrous debate performance from Lt. Governor John Fetterman (D) in Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senate race against Republican nominee Dr. Mehmet Oz.
“We’ll we’re, you know, it looks like, it looks like the debate didn’t hurt us too much in Pennsylvania as of today,” Schumer said. “So that’s good.”
Betting markets and polls have shifted in favor of Oz following the debate after Fetterman struggled to understand questions, struggled to talk, and seemed completely out of sync as he recovers from a stroke.
Schumer then shifted his focus to the U.S. Senate race in Georgia between Sen. Raphael Warnock (D) and Republican nominee Herschel Walker (R).
“And we’re basically, we’re, I think we’re going to [inaudible],” Schumer continued. “The state where we are seeing, the state we are going downhill is Georgia. It’s hard to believe that they will go for Herschel Walker.”

Walker responded to the latest round of media allegations by saying that he was done dignifying the allegations with any responses.
“Well, I’m gonna just say right now guys, I’m done with this foolishness,” Walker said in response to the press conference. “I’ve already told people this is a lie and I’m not going to entertain, to continue to carry a lie along.”
“And right now they got crushed at that debate and now the Democrats are doing and saying whatever they can to win this fight and win this seat,” he continued. “But I want them to know, they don’t know Herschel Walker. They don’t know that I’m from Wrightsville, Georgia, and I’m gonna win this seat. I told them when I got in this race, I’m gonna win. And they now see that I am gonna win. So I just want you guys to know that this right here, that right now, I’m winning this seat.”
