Today is the annual March for Life Rally in Washington, which I&#8217;ll be attending along with pro-life activists from all over the country. It&#8217;s easy to forget that our wonderful &#8220;pro-life&#8221; Republican presidents prior to Donald Trump wouldn&#8217;t even show up in person to the March For Life.
Trump was the first president to break that mold, when he became the first sitting president of either party to attend the event in person back in 2020. Then, just two years later, thanks to judges Donald Trump appointed to the Supreme Court, Roe v. Wade was overturned. A generational goal of pro-life activists was finally accomplished — sparing the lives of millions of children.
In the wake of this historic victory, Democrats retaliated. The Biden DOJ commenced a wave of illegitimate prosecutions targeted at peaceful pro-life protesters all over the country, from Washington to Tennessee to Michigan. Here&#8217;s how these prosecutions worked. First, the DOJ alleged that the protesters were violating the &#8220;FACE Act,&#8221; which protects &#8220;access&#8221; to abortion facilities. Then, the Biden DOJ invoked the &#8220;KKK Act,&#8221; otherwise known as the &#8220;conspiracy against rights&#8221; act. That&#8217;s a law that has nothing to do with abortion facilities. It&#8217;s a Reconstruction-era law that was intended to prevent the KKK from intimidating black people from voting or serving on juries.
By pairing these two laws together, the DOJ was able to pursue felony charges and extremely lengthy prison sentences for these peaceful pro-life demonstrators. Every single person attending one of these protests at an abortion facility could be accused of being a &#8220;conspirator&#8221; — even if they didn&#8217;t step foot in the facility itself. This is a legal approach that was never even considered to be possible when the FACE Act was debated in Congress, back in the early 1990s. In fact, Senator Ted Kennedy explicitly stated at the time that, &#8220;if an individual does violate this law for the first time, it is not a felony.&#8221;
That would be news to 75-year-old Paulette Harlow. She&#8217;s the mother of six children, including four kids she adopted. Harlow was sentenced last summer to 24 months in federal prison for &#8220;conspiracy against rights&#8221; and Face ACT violations. This is an obviously outrageous sentence that was issued by D.C. Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly. In particular, the judge completely ignored the fact that Harlow was in very poor health. As Harlow&#8217;s husband stated during sentencing, &#8220;I feel like Paulette is dying. In my heart, I think she’s having a hard time staying alive.&#8221;

Instead of responding to this information in any way, the judge appeared to mock Harlow&#8217;s faith, saying she should, “make an effort to remain alive” because that is a “tenet of [Harlow’s] religion.” Paulette Harlow was sentenced to home confinement, until federal officials could find a prison that could handle her medical needs.
Outside the courthouse, Harlow emphasized that she wasn&#8217;t violent in any way. And just looking at her, you can tell that she doesn&#8217;t deserve to spend 24 months in a federal prison. She&#8217;s obviously not a threat to anyone. Watch:

If you can look at that elderly, infirm lady and think that she deserves two years in federal prison for sitting outside of an abortion clinic, then you simply a bad person, if not a lunatic. As Harlow&#8217;s lawyers at the Thomas More Society have <a href="https://cdn.prod.website-files.com/63d954d4e4ad424df7819d46/6787e6eb978c3844c48bed30_TMS%20Pardon%20Petition%20Cover%20Letter.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pointed out</a>, this prosecution gets even more unlawful when you look at the cases the DOJ chose NOT to prosecute over the last four years. 
Specifically, the DOJ failed to prosecute, &#8220;almost any of the more than 170 incidents of violence against pro-life pregnancy centers and churches nationwide in the wake of the leak of the Dobbs decision.&#8221; There were at least 86 Catholic churches and 74 pregnancy resource centers that were targeted post-Dobbs. One of those resource centers received a threat, &#8220;If abortions aren’t safe, neither are you.&#8221; And yet, when The Daily Signal <a href="https://www.dailysignal.com/2022/10/26/dojs-kristen-clarke-pro-abortion-activist-enforcing-law-pro-lifers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reached out</a> to the DOJ and the FBI to see if any of these cases were being investigated, they didn&#8217;t get a response.
In other words, the DOJ was clearly targeting pro-life protesters specifically because of their religious beliefs. They were applying the law to different groups of people in different ways. That is unconstitutional. It is unethical. And the point of it was to intimidate pro-lifers into silence. That&#8217;s why they arrested these people like they were terrorists. They hit Paul Vaughn&#8217;s home like he was bin Laden. Watch:

This was an especially incredible prosecution by the DOJ, because it was clear to everyone Paul Vaughn wasn&#8217;t even blocking access to the abortion facility in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. Video evidence proved that. Instead, the DOJ accused Paul Vaughn of &#8220;stalling&#8221; the police negotiators, outside the facility. So again, they&#8217;re treating anyone remotely associated with these protests as a violent terrorist.
But yesterday Donald Trump put an end to these political prosecutions. He signed pardons for nearly two dozen peaceful pro-life demonstrators, including Paulette Harlow and Paul Vaughn. Watch:

Between these pardons and the repeal of Roe, there is now absolutely no question that Trump has done more for the pro-life cause than any other Republican president in history. It&#8217;s not even close.
During the campaign, there were some conservatives who doubted that. Some of them even suggested that pro-lifers shouldn&#8217;t vote for Donald Trump. But that was always a very bad idea, as I argued at the time — and now everyone can see that. For the first time in history, pro-lifers have a true advocate in the White House. What the hell did George Bush ever do for the pro-life cause? What did Ronald Reagan do? They treated pro-lifers like the red headed step children of the conservative movement. Trump — even though he is personally more moderate on the abortion issue than I am — is actually delivering major wins for the cause.
He actually accomplishes things — things that seemed impossible not too long ago. And he&#8217;s not stopping. Donald Trump is now single-handedly reversing a wave of lawfare against pro-lifers who were punished, in cruel and inhumane ways, because of their religious beliefs.
In fact we&#8217;ve had so much success on this issue in the last few years that some conservatives think the March For Life is pointless. But events elsewhere in Washington prove otherwise. As you might have heard, every Democrat in the Senate just voted against a measure that would have required doctors to provide life-saving medical treatment to infants born alive after a botched abortion. They&#8217;ve temporarily blocked the bill, because in the Senate, as of now, you need 60 votes to clear a filibuster and force a vote. Even the &#8220;reasonable Democrats&#8221; like noted slob John Fetterman voted in favor of infanticide.
Here&#8217;s what Fetterman <a href="https://x.com/SenFettermanPA/status/1882157782377611475" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>: &#8220;I’ve always stood on the side of Roe and a woman’s right to make her own health care choices. It’s absurd to mandate criminalization because of those choices. Any bill that does so, including the Born-Alive Survivors Protection Act, is a NO from me.&#8221;
In other words, he&#8217;s saying that women have the right to murder their children even after they&#8217;re born. Of course, this is the natural extension of Democrats&#8217; pro-abortion logic. And in this case, he&#8217;s just coming right out and saying it. So no, I don’t want to hear another word about so-called “moderate” Democrats. A lot of people have been saying that about Fetterman lately, but there&#8217;s no such thing. I don&#8217;t know how many times we need to learn this lesson. Even the moderate, mainstream Democrats believe that infant children outside the womb have no inherent right to life.

If you look at the text of the law, that becomes very clear. Here&#8217;s what the <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/senate-bill/6/text" target="_blank" rel="noopener">law requires</a>: &#8220;Any health care practitioner present at the time the child is born alive shall — “(A) exercise the same degree of professional skill, care, and diligence to preserve the life and health of the child as a reasonably diligent and conscientious health care practitioner would render to any other child born alive at the same gestational age; and “(B) following the exercise of skill, care, and diligence required under subparagraph (A), ensure that the child born alive is immediately transported and admitted to a hospital.&#8221; And then the law states, &#8220;A health care practitioner or any employee of a hospital, a physician’s office, or an abortion clinic who has knowledge of a failure to comply with the requirements of paragraph (1) shall immediately report the failure to an appropriate State or Federal law enforcement agency, or to both.&#8221;
This is not some hypothetical scenario. It happens more often than you might think. In Florida, 14 babies were <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/yes-democrats-support-ending-the-lives-of-babies-who-survive-abortions">reported</a> to have survived abortions in 2023, and 16 babies survived abortions in 2022. In Michigan, 122 babies were involved in so-called &#8220;failed abortions,&#8221; and we have no information as to what happened to them afterwards. In Tim Walz&#8217;s Minnesota, as we&#8217;ve previously discussed, at least five abortions resulted in a live birth in 2021 — and instead of receiving life-saving measures, at least two of those infants received &#8220;comfort care.&#8221; They soon died. And instead of outlawing this, the state of Minnesota decided to simply stop posting records from these failed abortions. So now they can kill infants and not tell anyone.
On the Senate floor, Chuck Schumer made an attempt to defend infanticide. Here&#8217;s how he framed the argument:

First of all, he claims that the bill is redundant. He suggests it&#8217;s already illegal to commit infanticide. But as we just established, many states are currently allowing doctors to kill infants after they&#8217;re born, by providing them with a lesser standard of care. The doctors are allowed to do this, and no one reports them for it. The law against murder is clearly not being enforced in these contexts. That&#8217;s why we need this legislation. It enhances the reporting requirements surrounding this barbarism, so that doctors can&#8217;t keep hiding it.

If you parse what Schumer is saying, he&#8217;s trying to argue that some women decide to kill their children when it&#8217;s clear that they&#8217;re going to have serious, life-altering medical problems. And then when those children manage to survive the abortion, he&#8217;s saying we should allow these women to &#8220;finish the job,&#8221; so to speak. But again, having a life-altering medical problem doesn&#8217;t mean you deserve to die. You are entitled to the same degree of care as anyone else with that life-altering medical problem. That&#8217;s what the bill requires. What if a four year old child has an accident on the playground and ends up disabled for life? Would it be okay with Chuck if the child’s parents decided to simply suffocate him with a pillow and throw him in a dumpster out back? Apparently so. Because that’s what his own logic would justify.
Democrats&#8217; decision to block this bill proves two things. First of all, it shows that the Democrat Party is still radically, horrifically, satanically extreme — despite whatever concessions to &#8220;moderates&#8221; they claim to be making. And secondly, it demonstrates that, despite all of our victories in recent days and years, we still have a lot of work to do. The pro-life movement has never had more power than it has right now. And at this moment, after the overt embrace of infanticide that we just saw in Congress, it&#8217;s clear that we need to use it.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) once called the possibility of President Donald Trump pre-emptively pardoning members of his inner circle “a gross abuse of the presidential pardon authority.”
Schumer made these remarks in late 2020, less than two months before President Joe Biden was inaugurated. Now, on the same day Trump is inaugurated for a second term, Biden has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-issues-last-minute-pardons-for-fauci-mark-milley-and-jan-6-committee" target="_blank" rel="noopener">preemptively pardoned multiple people</a>.
“The president’s reportedly asking his staff whether he can issue pre-emptive pardons for himself, his family members, Rudy Giuliani,” Schumer said in 2020 in prepared remarks <a href="https://www.c-span.org/clip/us-senate/senator-schumer-says-president-pardoning-children-would-be-abuse-of-pardon-authority/4926929" target="_blank" rel="noopener">on the Senate floor</a>. “There’s a simple answer: No. No, Mr. President, that would be a gross abuse of the presidential pardon authority.”
“But I have a more important question: Just how long are our Republican colleagues going to indulge the president in this nonsense?” Schumer continued.
On Monday, as his last act as president, Biden issued pre-emptive pardons for Dr. Anthony Fauci, Gen. Mark Milley, the January 6 Committee, and several family members. Fauci’s pardon dates back to January 2014 and protects the former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases from “any offenses against the U.S. which he may have committed or taken part in.” The pardon protects him from these offenses while he was the head of NIAID, the White House Coronavirus Task Force, the White House COVID Response Team, or as Biden’s chief medical advisor.
As of this writing, Schumer has said nothing about Biden’s pardons, though he has <a href="https://x.com/SenSchumer/status/1881353631770792205">posted</a> about Martin Luther King Jr. Day. A Daily Wire inquiry to Schumer’s office went unanswered as of press time.
In December, Biden’s own Justice Department wrote in <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.dcd.247201/gov.uscourts.dcd.247201.76.0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a court filing</a> that those charged with crimes relating to the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol would be admitting guilt if they accepted a presidential pardon from Trump.

“[A] pardon at some unspecified date in the future — which is purely speculative at this juncture — that pardon would not unring the bell of conviction,” the DOJ wrote. “In fact, quite the opposite. The defendant would first have to accept the pardon, which necessitates a confession of guilt.”
Biden himself warned about preemptive pardons in a 2020 interview with CNN, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/flashback-biden-warns-against-preemptive-pardons-in-2020-cnn-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.

“Now in terms of the pardons, you’re not going to see in our administration that kind of approach to pardons,” Biden said at the time. “Nor are you going to see in our administration the approach to making policy by tweets. You know, it’s going to be a totally different way to which we approach the justice system.”
In his message Monday about the pardons, Biden said that the “issuance of these pardons should not be mistaken as an acknowledgment that any individual engaged in any wrongdoing, nor should acceptance be misconstrued as an admission of guilt for any offense.”

Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) said during an interview on Sunday that then-Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) did not allow Republicans to be briefed on the terrorist threats facing the United States last year because he did not want the information to leak and damage Vice President Kamala Harris during the elections.
Britt made the remarks during an interview with CNN&#8217;s Jake Tapper on &#8220;State of the Union&#8221; when asked about the subject that Republicans repeatedly brought up to Schumer last year. The topic comes two weeks after a terrorist killed more than a dozen people in New Orleans on New Year&#8217;s Day.
Britt said that she was extremely concerned about the potential for future terrorist attacks in the U.S.
&#8220;When you rewind to where this came from, in my opinion, this is a direct result of Biden&#8217;s failed policies across the world,&#8221; she said. &#8220;When you look at the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, we know that that created a vacuum. It created a vacuum that allowed ISIS-K to continue to flourish.&#8221;
&#8220;Our conversations surrounding that and our request of Senator Schumer was, make sure that we understand this, so that we can do everything that we need to,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;This is also right after Director Wray said that he saw blinking lights everywhere he turned.&#8221;

&#8220;When you take the combination of these things, this is something we have to take seriously,&#8221; she added. &#8220;We cannot allow these things to happen on American soil. Getting answers and understanding how we equipped our law enforcement, our FBI and others the tools they need to combat this is critically important. We&#8217;re going to keep pushing.&#8221;
She said it was &#8220;incredibly disappointing that Senator Schumer chose to not allow us to have those&#8221; and that she believes he did not allow it because it was during &#8220;the election cycle&#8221; and he wanted to &#8220;keep that information from leaking out.&#8221;

For those who don&#8217;t spend their Sunday mornings glued to the television — and their Sunday afternoons attempting to dig through a week&#8217;s worth of network and cable news media spin — The Daily Wire has compiled a short summary of what you may have missed.
Sunday&#8217;s narrative focused primarily on the terrorist attack that took place last week in New Orleans — along with a concerted effort to drive conversation away from the terror risk posed by the open southern border and toward the threat of homegrown terrorism.
As soon as it was clear that the truck attack in New Orleans had been motivated by radical Islamist ideology — coupled with conflicting reports about the truck that was used and whether it had recently crossed the border — a number, President-elect Donald Trump among them, pointed to the porous border and questioned whether more such attacks might be possible or even imminent.
But Democrats and legacy media were quick to put distance on the topic of the border and the crisis that has unfolded there under the Biden-Harris administration&#8217;s lax policies — and they emphasized the fact that at least in this particular case, the perpetrator was an American citizen who had been radicalized.
On ABC News&#8217; &#8220;This Week,&#8221; Chief Justice correspondent Pierre Thomas raised the question of how exactly the New Orleans terror suspect had been radicalized — specifically, whether ISIS had recruited him or he had come to them.
&#8220;The main focus of the investigation right now: trying to figure out if the suspect was radicalized on his own or if someone from ISIS directed him in anyway,&#8221; Thomas told anchor George Stephanopoulos.

On &#8220;State of the Union,&#8221; CNN anchor Jake Tapper pressed Sen. Jim Banks (R-IN) on the issue — asking specifically whether Trump had jumped the gun when he linked terror threats in the United States to the porous border and the lax immigration policies under Biden and Harris.

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) denied that he and other Democrats lied to the American people over the last four years about President Joe Biden&#8217;s mental fitness for office.
Schumer made the remarks when pressed about the matter during a Sunday interview on NBC News&#8217; &#8220;Meet The Press&#8221; by Kristen Welker, who offered little pushback to Schumer&#8217;s claims.
Welker played remarks that Schumer made last year when he claimed that he regularly talked with Biden, sometimes &#8220;several times in a week.&#8221;
&#8220;His mental acuity is great. It&#8217;s fine,&#8221; Schumer said. &#8220;It&#8217;s as good as it&#8217;s been over the years. All this right-wing propaganda that his mental acuity has declined is wrong.&#8221;
Welker then pressed Schumer: &#8220;What do you say to Americans who feel as though you and other top Democrats misled them about President Biden&#8217;s mental acuity?&#8221;
&#8220;No. Look, we didn&#8217;t,&#8221; Schumer claimed. &#8220;And let&#8217;s – let’s look – let’s look at President Biden. He&#8217;s had an amazing record. The legislation we passed, one of the most significant groups of legislation since the New Deal – since Lyndon Johnson&#8217;s Great Society, putting in 235 judges, a record. And he&#8217;s a patriot. He&#8217;s a great guy. And when he stepped down, he did it on his own because he thought it was better not only for the Democratic Party, for America. We should all salute him. We should all salute him.&#8221;
When asked if Biden would have won the election had he stayed in the race, Schumer would not answer the question, saying only that he was &#8220;not going to speculate.&#8221;

“On Wikler’s watch, the Wisconsin Democratic Party in 2021 updated its platform to call itself the ‘party of diversity, equity, and inclusion,’ urged the decriminalization of ‘dangerous drug use,’ and called to ‘reimagine policing and criminal justice,’” the Beacon pointed out. “In August 2020, Wikler said the Kenosha police officer who shot Jacob Blake during an arrest attempt should be ‘investigated, tried, and convicted.’ Wikler called the shooting a ‘symptom of the deadly disease of white supremacy and racism.’’
Blake had pulled a knife on police before he was shot.

The agency sent New Jersey State Police a &#8220;drone-specific radar that also cues a highly capable EO/IR, or electro-optical infrared camera system,&#8221; a DHS official <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/press-briefings/2024/12/14/background-press-call-on-the-ongoing-response-to-reported-drone-sightings/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> reporters in a call.
&#8220;If the radar detects a drone, the camera will be able to identify and track it,&#8221; the official said, adding, &#8220;This is extremely helpful for drones without a standard radio frequency signal.&#8221;
On Wednesday, New Jersey Republican Assemblywoman Dawn Fantasia <a href="https://x.com/DawnFantasia_NJ/status/1866896860578717994" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shared</a> to X details from a briefing about the suspected drones that have been spotted over the past several weeks.
She said the &#8220;large&#8221; drones were 6 feet in diameter, operated in a coordinated manner, and appeared to avoid &#8220;traditional methods&#8221; of detection by helicopters and radio frequencies.
White House National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/white-house-feds-cannot-corroborate-mysterious-drone-sightings-over-new-jersey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> last week that &#8220;sophisticated electronic detection technologies&#8221; had not been able to corroborate visual sightings.
&#8220;To the contrary,” Kirby added, &#8220;upon review of available imagery it appears that many of the reported sightings are actually manned aircraft that are being operated lawfully.&#8221;
New York Governor Kathy Hochul, a Democrat, <a href="https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/statement-governor-kathy-hochul-43" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a statement on Sunday that her calls for &#8220;additional resources&#8221; to assist in solving the drone mystery had been answered.
&#8220;[O]ur federal partners are deploying a state-of-the-art drone detection system to New York State. This system will support state and federal law enforcement in their investigations,&#8221; she said.
Hochul, Kirby, and Mayorkas also called on Congress to pass legislation to boost the authorities and resources afforded to state and local law enforcement agencies to counter drones.
The <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/8610" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Counter-UAS Authority Security, Safety, and Reauthorization Act</a> will give states &#8220;the authority and resources required to respond to circumstances like we face today,&#8221; Hochul said.
In his post to X on Sunday, Schumer declared that he is &#8220;working to pass a bill in the Senate to give local law enforcement more tools for drone detection.&#8221;

Senate Minority Whip John Thune (R-SD), who was recently elected to be the Senate Majority Leader when the new Congress takes over in January, has initiated a plan to slow down how many judges Senate Democrats will be able to confirm in their finals days in the majority.
The plan involves invoking &#8220;procedural maneuvers&#8221; on the Senate floor that will &#8220;significantly delay votes&#8221; on the judges during the final days of the 118th Congress, Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/senate-gop-initiates-thune-engineered-slow-down-schumer-looks-stack-judicial-votes">reported</a>.
The move will limit the number of judges that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is able to ram through before the new Congress is sworn in on January 3, 2025.
&#8220;If Sen. Schumer thought Senate Republicans would just roll over and allow him to quickly confirm multiple Biden-appointed judges to lifetime jobs in the final weeks of the Democrat majority, he thought wrong,&#8221; Thune <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/senate-gop-initiates-thune-engineered-slow-down-schumer-looks-stack-judicial-votes">said</a> in a statement.
Schumer said on the Senate floor on Monday that Democrats would prioritize ramming through as many judges as possible during their final days in the majority.
In floor remarks on Monday, Schumer emphasized that Democrats are prioritizing judges in the lame duck session.
&#8220;After we vote today, we’ll keep going. Tonight, I will file on additional judges who we will move forward on the floor this week,&#8221; he said. &#8220;So, let me repeat: the Senate is going to keep prioritizing judicial and administrative confirmations this week, this month, and for the rest of this year.&#8221;
Thune was elected Senate Majority Leader last week, defeating Texas Senator John Cornyn by a vote of 29 to 24. Florida Senator Rick Scott was eliminated on the first ballot after finishing a distant third.
After being elected to the leadership role, Thune <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/thune-says-senate-will-give-fair-hearings-to-all-trump-nominees">said</a> that he would give fair confirmation hearings to all of President-elect Donald Trump&#8217;s cabinet nominees.
“The American people want change in this country,” he said. “They’re tired of the Biden-Harris-Schumer agenda, and they want President Trump to fix some things. And he wants to get a team in place that can do that, and we’re going to work with him to see that he gets his team installed as quickly as possible so he can implement his agenda.”
Thune said that all the nominees have a process they must go through and that Senate Republicans would not allow Democrats to “obstruct or block President Trump and the will of the American people.”
He also noted that using recess appointments is a possibility but that to get to that point, Republicans would effectively have to all vote to go to recess, meaning that if some Republicans had a problem with a specific nominee, they could vote against going into recess at which point recess appointments would be off the table.
Thune said that Senate Republicans would take advantage of how Democrats weaponized the use of the budget reconciliation process during the Biden administration to ram through unpopular legislation with a simple 51-vote majority.
He said the Senate was focused on fixing the border, strengthening the economy, boosting the military, cutting regulations and taxes, and dominating energy.

The House passed a bill last June to impose sanctions on officials at the International Criminal Court after ICC prosecutors equated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli Defense Minister to Hamas terrorist leaders Yahya Sinwar, Mohammed Deif, and Ismail Haniyeh, asking for arrest warrants for all five on grounds of war crimes and crimes against humanity. The ICC accused Netanyahu and Gallant of “systematically depriving civilians in Gaza of ‘objects indispensable to human survival,’” Reuters <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/what-war-crimes-are-israel-hamas-accused-one-year-2024-10-01/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported,</a> adding, “Israel is not a member of the ICC and does not recognize its jurisdiction.”
President Joe Biden’s advisers said he was “strongly opposed” to the bill.

As far as the accusations against Israel from the ICC, there have been repeated reports of Hamas stealing humanitarian aid that Israel has let through to Gaza.  In May, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller stated, “The convoys from the Jordanian military that brought the aid in unloaded the aid in Gaza. It was then picked up by a humanitarian implementer for distribution inside Gaza. They charge exorbitant prices from the Gazans. And that’s how they continue, [or] they hope to continue, to survive. And we have to take that away from them.”

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has invited Pennsylvania Republican Senator-elect Dave McCormick to the Senate orientation despite Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) holding out on a concession.
On Thursday, the Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/article/pennsylvania-senate-2024-election-david-mccormick-casey-866a8712dea0b52b5d8d6b4844968b53" target="_blank" rel="noopener">projected</a> that McCormick would win the race over Casey, but Democrats have refused to concede as ballots are still being processed. McCormick leads Casey by more than 35,000 votes, with 99% of the ballots counted. Schumer initially did not send invitations for Senate orientation to McCormick or Arizona Democrat Ruben Gallego, but after pressure from colleagues, Schumer changed his mind, POLITICO <a href="https://x.com/burgessev/status/1856317748948639840?s=46&amp;t=o-U3qwC25WnWaylJ0oeG7Q" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
&#8220;Ruben Gallego and David McCormick have been invited to attend orientation,&#8221; a spokesman for Schumer said on Tuesday.
Multiple outlets have yet to declare a winner in the Pennsylvania race, and Casey, a three-term senator, is still telling voters he is waiting for more ballots to be counted.
&#8220;Our Commonwealth ran a free and fair election, and we are still waiting on the final results,&#8221; he <a href="https://x.com/Bob_Casey/status/1856063317741117611" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> on Monday. &#8220;Our election officials will continue counting ballots and ensure that Pennsylvanians’ voices are heard.&#8221;
Multiple senators, however, urged Schumer to extend the invitations to McCormick and Gallego. Outgoing Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) <a href="https://x.com/kyrstensinema/status/1855753841439813977" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a> on X on Sunday, &#8220;In 2018 my race wasn’t called for 6 days. I jumped on a redeye to DC to make senate orientation-I learned so much &amp; made lasting relationships that week. Dave McCormick &amp; Ruben Gallego will be Senators for PA &amp; AZ. They should be invited to orientation &amp; start learning the job.&#8221;

With McCormick&#8217;s win, Republicans will hold 53 seats in the new Senate, giving President-elect Donald Trump a comfortable Republican majority as he begins his second term on January 20. Schumer speaking of bipartisanship and “principles” is ironic considering his penchant for disdain toward Republicans. As recently as September, he <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/schumer-rejects-gop-proposal-to-link-bill-requiring-voters-prove-citizenship-with-spending-measure" target="_blank" rel="noopener">indicated</a> he would not permit the Senate to even consider a short-term spending measure wedded to an election integrity bill proposed by the House GOP. “As I have said before, the only way to get things done is in a bipartisan way,” Schumer said. “Despite Republican bluster, that is how we’ve handled every funding bill in the past, and this time should be no exception. We will not let poison pills or Republican extremism put funding for critical programs at risk.”
Schumer attacked House Speaker Mike Johnson, accusing him of being partisan as the House passed the SAVE Act, stating, “If Speaker Johnson drives House Republicans down this highly partisan path, the odds of a shutdown go way up.” Sen. When they give tax cuts to the rich, they say they&#8217;re helping the middle class. When we help the middle class, they say we&#8217;re helping the rich.”

“In 2017, 32 Senate Democrats signed a letter saying that the filibuster should not change—27 of those Democrats are still in the Senate.
