Rose McGowan, a B actress who shot to worldwide fame after accusing movie mogul Harvey Weinstein of rape, has some pretty big demands when she makes public appearances, according to the Daily Mail.
Prior to her arrival at a London TV studio, staff were astonished to receive a phone call from her people making the following demands: “She must be met by someone of stature at reception.
“Don’t refer to her as a star — she knows this and sees no reason to have this brought up. No eye contact. No direct questions. Don’t stand too close.
“Do not offer any refreshments or engage in any small talk. When departing you may thank her for her time, but only if she requests that conversation.”
The imperious checklist did not go down too well with the TV studio. “Let’s just say that Weinstein was far nicer when he came in,” says my source. “Naturally, we took no notice.”
McGowan, meanwhile, took to Twitter to rip the Mail.
“@dailymail you are paid by scumbags to be as scummy as you are. Never have I been, nor ever will I be, a diva. I am a Person of the People. You are a squalid factory of filth. Also, the woman behind this planted article is a known sexual harasser. Know this: I do not play,” she wrote.
The prominent #MeToo activist on Monday was indicted for cocaine possession, but the actress maintains that she’s been set up by Weinstein, The Daily Wire reported.
The charges revolve around an incident on January 20, 2017, in which McGowan, 44, allegedly left her purse and two bags on a flight after arriving at the Dulles International Airport. The two bags tested positive for cocaine. The actress learned about the lost wallet and the found narcotics via an Instagram message, the NY Daily News notes.
McGowan, however, says she’s being framed, claiming that her wallet went missing while she was at baggage claim and alleging that one of Weinstein’s agents obtained it and planted the evidence as a means of stopping her from bringing her allegations against him to light.
News of the warrant for her arrest broke soon after the actress’ allegations of rape against Weinstein hit the headlines, McGowan taking to Twitter to portray the charges as an attempt to “silence” her.
“Are they trying to silence me? There is a warrant out for my arrest in Virginia,” she tweeted. “What a load of HORSESH*T.”
