Paul Rudd and his son Jack Rudd gave an interview after the Chiefs beat the Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII and now it’s gone viral with the actor’s name trending on Wednesday over praise for Patrick Mahomes.

During a post-game interview in Arizona, the NFL “Good Morning Football Host” Peter Schrager caught up with Rudd and his son and asked how they were feeling after their team, the Kansas City Chiefs, won a second Super Bowl in four years.

“I can’t believe it,” the 53-year-old actor and longtime Chiefs fan told the host. “It was such a great game. Wow it’s just all feels so overwhelming. Incredible.”

It was then the host asked Jack how he was feeling after being in Miami when Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Chiefs in the Super Bowl in 2021.

Now, being in Arizona and winning the game, Jack leaned in and said, “I just want to thank Patrick Mahomes for existing. For putting in all the work. So we can just all enjoy his greatness every week.”

“And I’m so lucky that I’m alive to watch this,” he added. “And I just can’t believe he’s a real person. I don’t know how to explain it.”

Paul then leaned in and started naming other players on the team the pair loved too as he blew kisses at the camera and ran off.

During the first half of Super Bowl LVII, Chiefs star QB appeared to have re-injured his high ankle sprain that had many sports commentators speculating before the game that it would affect how he played. Fans could see Mahomes hobble off the field and was visibly in pain on the sidelines.

The Chiefs went into the locker room at halftime down 24-14. But when the Kansas City team came back out in the second half, Mahomes appeared unaffected by the injury as he and his team mounted a comeback to end up beating the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35.

The come-from-behind victory would earn the team a second Super Bowl ring and Mahomes his second Super Bowl MVP — after scoring the same honor in Super Bowl LIV.
