Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce appears to have made a decision about whether or not he’s retiring from the NFL, telling podcast host Pat McAfee he’s returning for another season.
During “<a href="https://x.com/PatMcAfeeShow/status/1895175295520645395">The Pat McAfee Show</a>” on Thursday, the host said he had been hearing reports about Kelce possibly sticking around for a 13th season and decided to message his sources, which turned out to be the Super Bowl-winning tight end himself.
McAfee said his text from sources read, “I’m coming back for sure. Gonna try and get to the best shape I’ve been this offseason.”

“And get back to the mountaintop,” the host added. “Got a real bad taste in my mouth with how I played in that last game and how I got the guys ready for battle. I can’t go out like that!”
The host noted that the text ended in multiple exclamation points making it clear Kelce is coming back to play another year with Chiefs.
Talk of retirement really took off following the Chiefs&#8217; failure to secure a three-peat Super Bowl victory against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.
Following the Super Bowl loss, Chiefs star QB Patrick Mahomes seemed to be unsure if Kelce would be back.
Mahomes said he would “let Travis make that decision on his own. He&#8217;s given so much to this team and to the NFL. And he&#8217;s been such a joy, not only for me to work with, but for people to watch.&#8221;
During the NFL Combines this week, Kansas City Chiefs GM <a href="https://x.com/TomPelissero/status/1894560760207941762">Brett Veach</a> talked about Kelce’s future.
“We anticipate Travis being back,” Veach said. “We’re excited to have Travis back and that’s how we’re operating this offseason.”
“He [Kelce] was battling with a pretty big illness there before the Super Bowl,” he added. “I think Travis is excited to come back. He makes us better when he’s in our locker room and on the field and excited to get him back.”
Kelce goes into the 2025 season at 35-years-old. His stats for his career prove he will definitely be in the football Hall of Fame one day, leading the pack of tight ends with a recorded 1,004 receptions for 12,151 yards with 77 touchdowns over 12 seasons playing in 175 career regular-season games, <a href="https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/travis-kelce-will-return-to-chiefs-in-2025">NBCSports</a> noted.
The Chiefs tight end&#8217;s postseason record is just as impressive with 20 touchdowns in 25 games and 178 career receptions for 2,078 yards.

Seven Chilean men have been charged in the multi-million dollar heists of professional athletes like Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, and Cincinnati Bengals star QB Joe Burrow.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Florida federal court on Tuesday, the men have been charged with conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property in the burglaries of NBA and NFL players across the country, the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/mahomes-kelce-burrow-athletes-burglaries-chilean-charges-3c8b707fa21edc5d31285d88d6d80253">Associated Press</a> reported.
If convicted, each of the seven suspects faces a maximum of 10 years in federal prison, the AP noted.
While the <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-mdfl/pr/seven-chilean-nationals-charged-following-nationwide-burglaries-several-professional">complaint</a> doesn’t name each of the professional athletes who were burglarized, it does list the burglaries of professional players that were previously reported including the thefts at the homes of Mahomes, Kelce, and Burrow, the outlet noted.
The suspects were members of a South American Theft Group (SATG), the complaint noted.

&#8220;In many circumstances, professional sports teams will publicize their schedules and locations of their games, making it easy for the SATG to know when a particular athlete on a particular professional sports team will be away from his residence,&#8221; the complaint added.
The suspects named in the complaint are Jordan Quiroga Sanchez, 22; Bastian Orellano Morales, 23; Sergio Ortega Cabello, 38; Pablo Zuniga Cartes, 24; Ignacio Zuniga Cartes, 20; Alexander Huiaguil Chavez, 24; and Bastian Jimenez Freraut, 27, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/chilean-migrants-charged-travis-kelce-patrick-mahomes-joe-burrow-multimillion-dollar-heists">Fox News</a> noted.
In December, the Cincinnati Bengals QB became the next athlete to have his home broken into while he was on a road trip with his team.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to <a href="https://www.wlwt.com/article/joe-burrows-house-broken-into-report-during-football-game/63148465">WLWT</a> that Burrows’ $7.5 million Ohio home was burglarized and ransacked during Cincinnati’s 27-20 win over the Cowboys in Texas.
The NFL previously issued a security alert to players and teams following burglaries of the homes of the Kansas City Chiefs stars in October.
In a memo obtained by the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/nfl-security-alert-burglaries-mahomes-kelce-960075221367266fbee98f711a74c094">Associated Press</a> at the time, the league said homes of professional athletes have become “increasingly targeted for burglaries by organized and skilled groups.”
The memo labeled the transnational crime rings “well-organized, sophisticated,” and urged the players to safeguard valuables and avoid publicly sharing check-ins on social media or any information about their homes and any luxury items they might own, <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/cincinnati-bengals-qb-joe-burrow-home-burglary-rcna183666">NBC News</a> noted.
Officials noted that the homes were specifically being targeted when players were at their games.

Seconds after the Chiefs became AFC Champions again, a <a href="https://x.com/Sports_Spectrum/status/1883712399209095437">CBS sportscaster </a>caught up with Mahomes and asked him, pointing to the team’s chance to make history as threepeat SB champions, “How do you even describe this one, this opportunity ahead?&#8221; 
Super Bowl LIX will be held on February 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
“I mean, first off, I want to give all glory to God,” Mahomes told the reporter. “Without him, none of this is possible. And I truly mean that.”

It is not the first time the future NFL Hall of Famer has been open about his faith. Following the Chiefs&#8217; 25-22 overtime victory in Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers, the NFL star credited God with the team’s win, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/he-challenged-us-to-make-us-better-patrick-mahomes-credits-god-for-super-bowl-win">reported</a>.
Mahomes spoke to the press immediately after the Chiefs won the big game for the second consecutive year and said, “I just got to give God the glory” as he praised his team members for never faltering during the difficult season.

Speaking to members of the press, the Super Bowl-winning QB admitted he’s worried about the wear and tear on his body after the league scheduled three games over an 11-day period, starting with a road trip on Sunday, December 15 against the Cleveland Browns.
&#8220;It&#8217;s not a good feeling,&#8221; Mahomes said, per <a href="https://apnews.com/article/kansas-city-chiefs-patrick-mahomes-251a297450b4837f4fbd514fa5162a77">The Associated Press</a>. &#8220;You never want to play this amount of games in this short of time.”

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said he’s taking a measured approach to getting his team ready for the 11-day stretch, the AP noted.
“It’s a unique situation. You just have to manage it,” Reid said. “It is what it is. You make the best of it. The main thing is you get guys ready for the game. Give them a chance to get ready for the game. They&#8217;re going to do whatever you present to them. You try to help them out with that. Right now we have a normal week right here. We have to take care of business here.&#8221;
The Christmas Day games are part of Netflix&#8217;s doubleheader as the streaming platform dives into live sporting events.
The games will be star-studded, with the queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey, kicking things off on December 25 for the Chiefs vs Steelers game. On the day of the game, the home belonging to Kelce was broken into while the team was playing against the Saints. At the time, <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2024/11/12/patrick-mahomes-travis-kelce-homes-burglarized/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TMZ</a> reported that $20,000 in cash was stolen and a back door was damaged.
A South American crime ring is believed to be the culprit in at least the Chiefs burglaries, the <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/12/10/sports/joe-burrows-home-broken-into-during-mnf-in-another-athlete-robbery/">New York Post </a>reported.
At the time of this report, Burrow or the Bengals have yet to comment on the burglary.

“I’ve always said, I don’t want my place or my platform to be used to endorse a candidate … either way,” Mahomes said. “I think my place is to inform people to get registered to vote, to inform people to do their own research, and then make their best decision for them and their family.”
And Patrick explained that the ability to do so is “what makes America so great.”

Kansas City Chiefs star QB Patrick Mahomes&#8217; NFL gear sales beat out both Kelce and Butker’s, coming in second place, behind only Houston Texans C.J. Stroud, who nabbed the top spot, the outlet noted.

Hostin began by saying that it had given her hope to see an uptick in voter registrations after pop star Taylor Swift endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris and running mate Governor Tim Walz (D-MN), saying that she wanted to see &#8220;the Swift effect&#8221; help to drive more people away from supporting former President Donald Trump.
She then segued to Mahomes, adding, &#8220;To your initial point, I know you said we weren&#8217;t going to talk about it, but I was. It just seems to me that since she is in an interracial marriage, she should have known that to support a racist is problematic.&#8221;

He was then pressed by another reporter if it affected him “one way or another” after Trump brought up Brittany’s name, praising her for allegedly being a big “Trump fan.”

&#8220;No, I think at the end of the day, it&#8217;s about me and my family and how we treat other people,&#8221; Patrick explained. &#8220;And I think you see Brittany does a lot in the community. I do a lot in the community to help bring people up and give other people opportunities to use their voice.”
The comments came after his teammate Travis Kelce’s pop star girlfriend <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/taylor-swift" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Taylor Swift</a> endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris over Trump following the ABC News Presidential Debate.
Swift called the VP a “steady-handed, gifted leader&#8221; and said she was voting for the Democratic nominee because she was “impressed” by Harris&#8217; “selection of running mate [Minnesota Gov.] @timwalz” for what she labeled his “support for “LGBTQ+ rights” and abortion.

On Sunday, the 34-year-old singer and her beau Kansas City Chiefs star Kelce had some fun in the sun at the tennis tournament, where the two shared a VIP box with the Mahomes, the <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/09/09/sports/taylor-swift-and-travis-kelce-enjoy-double-date-with-patrick-and-brittany-mahomes-after-us-open-outing/">New York Post</a> reported.
The “Shake It Off” hitmaker and Kelce were then photographed looking stylish on their way to dinner in New York City at Meduza Mediterrania restaurant. Arriving separately — but to the same location — were the Kansas City Chiefs QB and his wife, the Post noted.
The group hanging out together comes amid speculation from some that there had been some rift between the ladies after Swift wasn’t seen hanging out with Brittany at the opening night of the Chiefs game in Arrowhead on Thursday.

In the original post shared by Trump on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C-m53xGu3MY/">Instagram</a>, the former president listed “The 2024 GOP Platform” to “Make America Great Again,” noting things like tax cuts, no tax on tips, securing the border, and stopping illegal immigration. He also posted about a promise to “end inflation,” “Make America Affordable Again,” and “Keep men out of women’s sports.”
