The parents of a ten-year-old model who reportedly identifies as transgender say they plan on having their child undergo transgender surgeries at age 16.
Noella McMaher, who’s been hyped in the media as the world’s “youngest transgender model,” was socially transitioned at the young age of four and had a legal name-change by age seven.
Dee McMaher, the child’s mother, told Chicago Parent in 2019 that Noella would, in the next few years, start puberty blockers and then begin a physical transition with gender surgeries at age 16, REDUXX highlighted this week.
It’s been nearly three years since the Chicago Parent profile, but it’s unclear if Noella is already on puberty blockers, which critics say is tantamount to chemical castration.
Male-to-female transgender procedures typically include so-called “top” and and “bottom” surgeries.
Dee claims Noella was aware of being transgender at the age of two.
“She would refuse to wear boy clothes and have tantrums because she was so young. She knew what she wanted, but didn’t have the words to say it,” the mother said, according to LGBTQ Nation. “I should have known earlier, as she hated anything masculine, so I brought her to a gender clinic.”

As highlighted by The Daily Wire, the child recently participated in the Mel Atkinson-designed Trans Clothing Company show in New York City.
“Noella really doesn’t ever get nervous or scared by anything. She’s a tiny professional,” Dee gushed. “She was so excited to go down the catwalk, excited to see all the people and the cameras. She knows exactly how to work a crowd.”
“We are so proud of Noella for being the first trans child in New York Fashion Week, we are in awe with her confidence and determination,” the child’s parent continued. “Noella already has so many transgender people of all ages contact her for advice, support.”
The 10-year-old is already a transgender activist.
“Noella is very outspoken and an amazing advocate for other trans kids,” Dee said. “It’s great that she can provide this trans visibility on a global scale. She is showing them that trans is beautiful.”
“As a parent of a transgender child, it is my duty to protect her and make sure she is safe,” Noella’s mother said. “For ten years old, she is very mature for her age and self-assured. She wants to show other transgender kids that it is ok to socially transition and accept who they are.”
